Speaker 1 (00:04):
The fanatics right here on ticket seven sixty. You can
always catch this show on ticket seven sixty or the
iHeartRadio app and that is free. You can catch me,
you can catch ty Sujik, and you can catch Shane Carter.

Speaker 2 (00:16):
Yeah, and I will take the moment to acknowledge my
mother since I did not in the first segment.

Speaker 3 (00:21):
Sorry, have you Mother's Day?

Speaker 4 (00:22):
Ma?

Speaker 2 (00:23):
We love you. Your gifts are coming soon. Don't worry about that.
Don't fret. I'm sure you up. Listen to that and
you're like, where's my card? Where's my flowers? They're on
the way. The group text is working as we speak.
I don't know where my sister is, but she's in
charge of that. But no, Ma, we love you. And
just to give a little background, my radio career is
solely thanks to my mom. When I got internship at

(00:44):
ESPN Radio, she would drive forty five minutes from morn
Ohio to cant Ohio to pick me up, to drive
me to Cleveland and then wait around in Cleveland for
hours on Sundays to then bring me back to school.
So my radio career as one hundred percent so chalked
up to my mom.

Speaker 5 (01:01):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (01:02):
Yeah to her, commitment during that summer and the reason
why you're listening to me now, So thank you mom.

Speaker 5 (01:08):
My mom would say that she is also a response
for my radio career because she birthed me.

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Too.

Speaker 1 (01:15):
Too, too, Shane Carter, everybody.

Speaker 4 (01:19):
Oh, I have Mother's Day to Mama Emory too.

Speaker 1 (01:22):
Yeah, Wema memory. She is the reason I'm here. I
don't know what else to say about it. I'm going
to a lunch. Yeah, the reason for the season, the
reason for the season, I guess you know. So, yeah,
Mama Emory. And we'll have some other shout outs for
other people throughout the show. Yeah, there it is. See
you almost missed it, buddy. NBA Playoffs are we finding

(01:43):
these games interesting?

Speaker 3 (01:45):
Because I am? I mean, I.

Speaker 1 (01:48):
Feel bad for the Warriors. I feel bad for the Warriors.
I'll say that again. I feel bad for the Warriors.

Speaker 3 (01:54):
Now.

Speaker 1 (01:55):
I did help them last Sunday when I was in Houston.
I did light a candle next to the Toyota Center
for the Warriors to go ahead and beat the Rockets.

Speaker 3 (02:02):
Because I don't like Dylan Brooks. I don't like.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Anything about the Rockets. Every time I saw a Rockets shirt,
I was getting sick to my stomach. That's why I
brought up the Spurs talk, you know, but I'm glad
they're doing what they did. The Warriors now are facing
They're down two games to one against Minnesota.

Speaker 3 (02:19):
Guys, let's figure this out.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
But Minnesota is going to find themselves in the Western
Conference Championship and probably against the Denver Nuggets.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
I love that I called that last year before this show.
I called that last year, ye Dylan saying yep, because
I showed him. I forgot when the Timberwolves got bounced
last year.

Speaker 5 (02:40):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
Sometimes I'm just an idiot on Instagram and I just
comment on things.

Speaker 3 (02:44):
Keep that.

Speaker 2 (02:45):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (02:48):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
So but when cat let down Minnesota last year, I
was like, uh, he's gone. And once cat here got
off season, he gets trained, and I was like, the
Wolves are gonna get better.

Speaker 3 (03:03):
Julus Randall's gonna be a better fit for the Wolves.
Triple double for him last night, by the way. Yeah,
and that's happening in real time. So I do want
to take credit for that. I saw that coming. Now.

Speaker 1 (03:13):
Granted, the Warriors are a little bit weak. They are, okay,
Curry being out, I mean, but honestly, Age always catches
up to everybody right, it does, you know, Butler's kind
of heard.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
But the cast fan in me, I don't mind it.

Speaker 2 (03:26):
If you think about twenty fifteen, if Kevin Love doesn't
injure his shoulder against the Celtics, Kelly OLYNNOK, you're a
dirty player too.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
That series is different. Yeah it is. You're one. You
know You're won with Kevin Love and Cleveland is different.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
You know.

Speaker 2 (03:42):
So the Warriors have benefited from injuries throughout time as
well as any other team, and now the Wolves are
benefiting from unfortunately the best shooter of all time, you know,
being out.

Speaker 4 (03:51):
I think got that he tore Kevin Loved his shoulder
out of his socket.

Speaker 3 (03:54):
Yeah, it was dirty, and they must win.

Speaker 1 (03:56):
Yesterday for the defending champions, Boston Celtics with they're back
against the wall, go to Madison Square Garden and they
win one fifteen to ninety three, controlled the whole first half,
basically never looked back. Now New York is leading this
series two games to one. I ask you, fellas, is
that gonna carry? Or is that fiction that the New
York Knicks will win this series?

Speaker 3 (04:18):
Shame?

Speaker 4 (04:18):
I want to believe so bad in the Knicks.

Speaker 5 (04:21):
I just I the problem is is that the Knicks
when they won those first two games, they didn't have
dominant control. Those were really more just like late game
breakdowns and the Celtics missing so many three pointers. In
this last game, the Celtics sank like them like so many,
like a much better percentage of three pointers, and they
did the previous two games combined. And so while I
want to believe in the Knicks, I still think right
now the Celtics are carrying over the momentum of realizing

(04:42):
they didn't really lose those first two games.

Speaker 4 (04:45):
They just kind of give them away. So I have
a hard time believing in the Knicks. I don't know,
and I know TIS probably will.

Speaker 3 (04:50):
Higher on than I am ty. I am not Hirer
on Knicks at all. Is a fluke. Yeah, fiction.

Speaker 2 (04:56):
I like that they came out strong, But the writings
on the wall, you look at it, cats holding his hand,
it might be broken.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
He's not answer those question mab yeah whatever, He's answering
all saucy him and his him and his saucy answers.

Speaker 5 (05:12):
Man.

Speaker 3 (05:13):
He can never straand up and answer any question.

Speaker 4 (05:17):
No, for such a big guy, is he at least
favorite player in the league.

Speaker 2 (05:20):
He might be up there. He might be up up there.
He's definitely up there. I My issue is that he
has such a strong skill set. He's actually a very
good player, and I think I just hold him such
a high level and watch him sit at three point
line flop around and cry really bothers me because he
has the ability to be a dominant big. His shooting
has already changed the game for bigs right, but he

(05:43):
also has the ability to go to work in the post.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
He did that in Kentucky.

Speaker 2 (05:47):
He does not do that NBA, And when teams need
him the most, in those clutch moments, he falls apart.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
So you're you're not believing that the Knicks can win this.
They need how many games?

Speaker 3 (05:57):
I think?

Speaker 1 (05:57):
I think they can win one more game? Do you
think they win at home? Or do you think they'd
take another one in Boston? It'd be at home, so
I'd have to win tomorrow, yeah, or game six.

Speaker 3 (06:09):
I put my money on game six. Okay, you think
it goes seven games? Yeah?

Speaker 2 (06:14):
They went because they win one more because I them
winning Game two was the astleute shocker for me because
when I got one, Boston couldn't finish, right, Boston could finish.
When I got one, I was a guy. But Boston
has woken up. And that's the issue. Boston. I think
they did not take Yeah, well, they didn't take the
nixt series. I'm be real honest, I don't think they
took them serious.

Speaker 1 (06:32):
I would tell you the Game two was an absolute
meltdown from Boston to not score a field goal, to
not at home. And by the way, it didn't sound
like it was in Boston. It sounded like it was
in Madison Square Garden with all the fans there. Did
y'all see the video afterwards where the ushers were trying
to get these New York Knick fans out and they
couldn't do it, and like they're falling over chairs or whatever.

Speaker 4 (06:52):
Yeah, I saw that.

Speaker 1 (06:53):
But the problem for Boston, and I'm with you here, Ty,
is they went into this series thinking, oh, it's gonna
be a four game sweep, you know, And then and
they get their first game and they're like, whooh, blew
that one. Oh well, we'll come back and get this one.
And they get up by twenty again. But here come
the Knicks, you know, and you let the momentum and
the thing about the playoffs is the momentum is a
is a killer. A twenty point lead in the NBA

(07:14):
is not safe anymore. And you have to understand that
if I'm if I'm in the playoffs and I'm the
head coach of the Boston Celtics, I'm not letting off
the gas.

Speaker 3 (07:24):
Period.

Speaker 1 (07:25):
You cannot let off the gas because as soon as
you do your confidence right, they say, shooter's gonna shoot,
and you got to keep shooting every day, blah blah
blah blah blah blah blah.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
But that didn't help.

Speaker 1 (07:35):
And the Boston Celtics literally had their back against the
wall yesterday.

Speaker 3 (07:39):
But again, they're not out of the woodwork yet.

Speaker 1 (07:42):
New York could pull it off because they still have
that two game to one edge and they won two
games in Boston.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Yes, right, So in the Eastern Conference.

Speaker 1 (07:52):
Nobody can win at home, you know, because speaking of
you've got the Calves and Pacers, and the Calves are
in a must win game tonight. If they do not
win in Indiana, we could say bye bye Calves, right,
which would be a complete shocker after the Calves were
so dominant this season, winning on the road, winning at home,
and you lose not once, but twice, literally the same

(08:16):
way to the same player in Cleveland, What is going
on with your calves ty?

Speaker 2 (08:22):
Injuries for one, thank god had the mag cover because
I almost bit the mic.

Speaker 3 (08:28):
I'm so upset. Injuries for one, took a toll.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Shots weren't falling much like I think the Celtics and
Calves both were looking ahead to the Eastern Conference Finals.
They has everybody led that up to and they both
had such an easy time in round one.

Speaker 3 (08:44):
Yep.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
I think they were feeling themselves a little too much
and were like, all right, we are we say we are,
and we're gonna make it to the Eastern Conference Finals.
So I think both teams were honestly looking ahead and
they were kind of holding some cards, you know, for
a rainy day, and they're forgetting everyone then can play.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
You got to show up and play.

Speaker 2 (09:04):
And Halliburton also taking that overrated you know, he's taking
titles personal. Yeah, taking a personal, but also Halliburton showing
showing his true colors to drop four points and that loss.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
Well, talk to the media, and Rick Carla is the
same way. He's defending Halliburton. He's like, I want to
know who said that about him. I want to know
who's called him over rate? Like, why do you release
that right before the playoffs here?

Speaker 2 (09:31):
You know, Yeah, they're adding fuel to that fire, which
really upset me. On you know, we got to run
through him.

Speaker 5 (09:36):
You know, I noticed about the teams that are up
two to one, especially especially the surprise. First of all,
all the all four of the teams that are leading
are like the teams that weren't supposed to win the series.
But if you look at all four of these teams,
every single one that's leading has one of those like
surprise players that's come out of the work would work
to overtake the start. Almost with the Nuggets, it's been
it's been Aaron Gordon with the With the Wolves, it's

(09:56):
been me and Ti talked about this.

Speaker 4 (09:58):
It's been Julius Randall with the Pacers.

Speaker 5 (10:01):
It's been uh uh Nuremberg, Yeah, Nuremberg, and uh With
the Knicks, it's been Ogn and Obi. So like the
stars have come out, but it's been the unsung hero
of all these guys.

Speaker 4 (10:10):
It's really taken over for the teams.

Speaker 2 (10:12):
Yeah, no, I I I agree, it's it's been a
lot of role players stepping up. Holla burden stepping into
his own. As far as the Pacers go, those teams,
they realize the weight of the position they're in. They have,
they have the ability to knock off top dogs and
and and they're they're going at them, and the Knicks

(10:32):
are They're not doing exactly what I expected of them.
But the Knicks always gonna play hard. In my opinion,
They're always gonna play hard. I respect Josh Hart's game.
I think Josh Hart should get more love for being
a six to six power forward.

Speaker 3 (10:45):
Uh huh.

Speaker 1 (10:46):
But what was the headline with the Knicks during the
regular season. They could not beat a top tier team, and.

Speaker 2 (10:51):
I think they took that personal and they they came
at Boston and that's why I want it personally. As
a cast fan, I want no parts of Orlando. I
wanted no parts of New York because I knew those
two storylines. Polo is a killer. If I'm I'm very
happy with Yeah, Polo is a killer. And I mean
he killed us last year. You know the Calves. When
I say asked, he's killed the calves last year in

(11:12):
the playoffs, he.

Speaker 1 (11:12):
We're gonna get you to start saying the Spurs, Yeah,
we will Spurs are kind of more his side chick
than anything else.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
Wow, funny enough. I actually did really love the Spurs
growing up. I played with the Spurs. Uh No, I
still love them. Growing up, I had no qualms the Spurs.
Just to be honest, I didn't know anything about San Antonio,
so I was just like I liked him, duncan. I
also like your nineties, Like when you guys had all
the colors. I've always you know, want to play two

(11:42):
K always put Yeah, I put those Refro jerseys on.
You know, though US locals we hated it. Yeah, that's
it's like why we can't get along.

Speaker 1 (11:51):
Once the Spurs went to silver and black, I was like,
all right, that that Fiesta color eight. But now look
at us. Now we're all wearing the City Edition. We're
all wearing the Sure one.

Speaker 4 (12:00):
Just you didn't like it because I'm a lot of
people who prefer the c and.

Speaker 3 (12:05):
It was it was weird.

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Yeah, but even the terra Cotta pink and that the
brown I'm I'm just fan of all those.

Speaker 3 (12:12):
I mean, you gotta you gotta realize I'm a Browns fan.

Speaker 1 (12:14):
The Calves went back to would be so proud of
you for that color.

Speaker 2 (12:18):
He's the reason why I know ye, He's the reason
why I know it. But you guys realize, I'm a
Browns fan. Like in Ohio, we don't we don't have
cool colors, you know, the Indians and Guardians. So when
you had that real nineties color scheme, that really drew
me in because I had brown and orange, which orange
is my favorite color.

Speaker 3 (12:34):
Creative, yes, it's not creative.

Speaker 2 (12:36):
Then you know, the Calves had that fun color scheme
in the nineties, that black and in that electric blue
that that you guys use.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
Now, I love that, But then we switched to wine
and gold and I was like, eh, So that's why
I feel like.

Speaker 2 (12:56):
I feel That's what Carl Town does every time he
gets bite up.

Speaker 1 (13:00):
Speaking of coming up as a Saints fan, I can
tell you why. I'm so extremely happy. That's all next
on the Fanatics on Ticket seven sixty
