Speaker 1 (00:05):
My things.
Speaker 2 (00:05):
You shake harder for being here as well every day,
My little I guess you're a co host, my little
co host, or you're not little, you guess I don't wait,
hold on.
Speaker 1 (00:13):
We've been doing the show for.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
Our friend Joseph Hoyt, the Dallas Morning News, joining us
earlier giving.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
Us all the cowboy breakdown.
Speaker 2 (00:24):
You know, it's kind of funny because I know we've
got a few minutes left. I'm a real big fan
of expansion. I'm a real big fan of a city
growing the right direction. I'm a real big fan of people,
you know, being able to take a jump right.
Speaker 1 (00:42):
It's like going into a relationship.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
Right. You go into a relationship, you're trying to join together, right.
Speaker 1 (00:48):
You want to make sure that you're doing leaps and bounds.
Speaker 2 (00:50):
So it's like you kind of have this same where
it's like I'll grab your hand, you grab my will jump,
let's jump together. The City of San Antonio and the
San Antonio Spurs need to grab each other's hands and
jump at this opportunity of growth for the city of
San Antonio. If we pass on it. I'm not saying
that we're not going to pass on it. I'm not
saying that. But I have to wash away.
Speaker 1 (01:15):
The past. Okay.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
We have passed on many opportunities that have hurt this
city to where we could grow.
Speaker 1 (01:23):
Phil Hardburger, you got so much beef it fills I.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
Do because we had a chance to grab Major League
soccer and he decided to go for a park. Cool.
Speaker 1 (01:33):
Oh it's got your name. Awesome, god a stadium had both.
Speaker 2 (01:38):
We pass on so many opportunities and then people get
mad at other cities, like the city of Oakland and
the Oakland Athletics when they did a flyby over here
and they were like, Hey, we're gonna go to San
Antonio if you don't build as a new dadium. You
know what our city said at the time. Oh, I
don't think that's gonna happen. I think they're just gonna
stay in Oakland.
Speaker 1 (01:54):
What happened? Where are they?
Speaker 2 (01:56):
Where are they gonna build Shane, Where are they gonna
build Las Vegas?
Speaker 1 (02:00):
Yes, again by the city of San Antonio.
Speaker 2 (02:03):
I'm not here to blame in what city officials like
to say, and I'm saying to all of you right now,
what you.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Guys say is, ah, they don't want to be here.
Speaker 2 (02:14):
They're just using us really, because now we're starting to
see them.
Speaker 1 (02:18):
Maybe that's not the case.
Speaker 2 (02:20):
Maybe we just kept rejecting them because we refuse to grow. Look, man,
have your restrictions on the Alamo. That's really cool thing.
I like to tell my family that, Hey, you know
the buildings that are around the Alamo, they can't be
above six stories. You know why because the sun will
always set on the Alamo. That is such a cool
saying for the city of San Antonio. I grew up here.
That's really cool. We're not asking to build around that, Okay,
(02:44):
we're asking for expansion.
Speaker 1 (02:46):
We're asking for.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
City officials to go to their people that are unsure
about this and tell them that this is a money
maker for the city of San Antonio. I'm tired of
it because this gives us plenty of opportunity for what
Shane more entertainment.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
The Final Four loves the city of San Antonio. We
were good there. Like they have men's and women's fields.
That's girl friend. Okay.
Speaker 2 (03:09):
We're like, hey, Final four, and you want to come
over here and they're like, yeah, you talk to coaches
like I had a chance to you in the Final Four.
They love this city baseball, right, Triple A. That's that's
the start. But it's not like you can't grow because
san Antonio deserves another professional team.
Speaker 1 (03:25):
Do you not agree now that one hundred percent should agree.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
There's no reason why we should have this many people,
on this size of a city and this big of
a fan base and not have another professional team. But
if our city officials do not do anything about it,
it's never gonna happen. It needs to happen. Vote yes
to Project Marvel bar Orties. I always have an open
seat for you. That's it for the Fanatics. We will
