Right Shane.

Speaker 3 (01:02):
I am working on it right now.

Speaker 1 (01:03):
As a matter of fact, see he is working on
the podcast right now. It's called the fanatics. You can
listen to us, comment to us later in the future.
If you don't like my takes, that's okay, we'll get
along with just fine. Yeah, nobody does, especially right now,
you know. And then you can also join me on
Facebook Live. A couple people joining us there Sergio Lozano,
which is, by the way, the best meteorologist in San Antonio.

(01:24):
I'm just gonna let you know because he is ou boomer, right.
Because we're getting close to college football, we got a
lot to talk about about college football. A little later
on the show, Trudy Stone from Trending with Trudy is
joining us as well. They had a successful event over
at Slackers on Friday. They did this auction which, by
the way, Shane, I just want you to know. We

(01:45):
also have to tell our friend Hi, I have the
two thousand and seven NBA Championship ring of Tim Duncans.
Now you do, Yeah, I want it in silent auction.

Speaker 2 (01:56):
That's amazing, right, it is very am It's pretty. And
guess what I did. I forgot it today.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
Oh my god, I was gonna wear it and like
clank it on the microphone.

Speaker 2 (02:07):
I just didn't do it.

Speaker 3 (02:08):
Are you flecting something that ain't there.

Speaker 1 (02:10):
Well, okay, I'll show it a little bit later on
my social media's but you can join us on Facebook
Live and then I'm gonna jump over into the old
TikTok world here a little later on. But Shane, you've
we've got a guest joining us today. You want to
tell us a little bit about him right now.

Speaker 4 (02:24):
He is a Dallas Cowboys beat reporter for the Dallas
Morning News of a hopefully future friend of the show,
Joseph Hoyt is going to join us live via ox nerd, California.

Speaker 2 (02:35):
Future friend of the show.

Speaker 1 (02:37):
He's gonna be a friend of the show because he's
gonna be he's our cowboy guy. You know, he's over
there in Oxnard, and I'm sure the weather's nice over there.
But again, the week that was obviously my childhood, Shane
took a little bit of a blow this past week
as Hulk Hogan passed away at the age of seventy one.
And this past Friday, wwe had their tribute to the whole.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
And the only, the immortal.

Speaker 4 (03:05):
Hulk Hogan.

Speaker 1 (03:12):
So they ordered Hulk Cogan on Friday Night with a
tin bell salute, and so hul Cogan passes away at
the age of seventy one. We also had kind of
like the trifecta of celebrity deaths.

Speaker 2 (03:25):
I guess you would say.

Speaker 1 (03:26):
I think it was t O from The Cosby Show
was the first one. Malcolm Jamal who.

Speaker 4 (03:34):
Malcolm Jamal want to get it right? I know, I'm
trust respect. He was also on a school bus, Yes
he was. He played the guy. At the end of
the answer, the fan questions, yes for guy's name.

Speaker 3 (03:44):
Yeah, I forgot it too. I feel bad too. Well.

Speaker 2 (03:47):
Yeah, Ozzy Osbourne.

Speaker 3 (03:49):
Ozzy died, Chuck Manjoni died the other day.

Speaker 2 (03:51):
Chuck Man, I know, and you know he went right
after Hulk Hogan.

Speaker 3 (03:55):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (03:55):
So really they say the rule is threes shame.

Speaker 4 (03:57):
Yeah, so that means Chuck Man joniy is starting a
new three. So oh, celebrities that need to watch out
because there's two more.

Speaker 3 (04:02):
Yeah. I shouldn't make a joke about that, but that
is how the rule works.

Speaker 1 (04:05):
Yeah. Valerie or Romo is in here on Facebook life.
She's saying good morning to us, good morning hey, and
by the way, happy belated birthday, my friend.

Speaker 2 (04:14):
Appreciate that.

Speaker 1 (04:15):
How was your birthday? You got the day off, you
got to do everything. So what did you do? Did
you do anything fun?

Speaker 4 (04:21):
Well, yesterday I pretty much spent the day with my mama,
and she got she got what she calls a glamy time,
because if you know this, in Texas, no grandparents calls
themselves grandma and grandpa.

Speaker 3 (04:28):
It's always like some kind of nickname.

Speaker 4 (04:30):
Hers is glamy because she wants to be a glamorous granny. Okay,
so like that's where the name came from.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Glamorous granny.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
I like that.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Yeah, so I got to I got spend time with her,
and it was honestly kind of like a It was
kind of like a very chill birthday, which is fine,
just because I didn't have any plans for myself, Like
I don't like to make plans for something that's about me.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
I like to make plans for other people. I'm a giver.
You are a give I'm a giver.

Speaker 2 (04:51):
You're very nice.

Speaker 3 (04:52):
I'm a given person. I'm a very nice person.

Speaker 2 (04:54):
I think sometimes that morning coffee though I.

Speaker 3 (04:56):
Don't drink coffee.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
You drink I hello, oh yeah, you drink You drink.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
A coffee and a doctor pepper, which.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
Is sometimes I don't drink doctor peppers anymore.

Speaker 4 (05:04):
I drink tea in the morning, like like I drink
like some sweet like some sweet tea that I make. See,
I can't do tea and I'll mix it with some
amino acids. Is it weird that I.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
Can't do tea? I am not a tea something some
people really don't like. I don't like a lot of people.

Speaker 4 (05:16):
Don't like that harsh taste that comes from from the grains,
from the from the from the tea leaves. So like,
I think that's that might be what it is, even
if you sweeten it up. Some people don't like that. Yeah,
and you know, so does it wake you up? Does
it put you in to see like I feel like
he has to put me into a mood?

Speaker 3 (05:32):
It parks, it perks you up. Yeah, perks perks.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Central Parks.

Speaker 4 (05:37):
But like whole with Whull Cogain, like I it's my
first introduction to Hule Cogan when I was a kid
was when he was with n w O.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
That was that's when he.

Speaker 1 (05:46):
Was in his new world or that you were aging me,
because dude, who's that's late nineties.

Speaker 3 (05:51):
I understand.

Speaker 1 (05:52):
I had the plastic ring, you know, and like the
figuring yeah, yeah, you would like throw them off the ladder, and.

Speaker 4 (05:59):
I don't know me it was Holk, your favorite wrestler,
just like the kind of like the embodiment of like
take the Snake.

Speaker 2 (06:04):
Was my favorite wrestler.

Speaker 1 (06:05):
And fun fact I actually got to see him and
meet him. My daughter's calling me in the middle of
the show was really not good at it stuff. I'll
just do this real quick tour hang over real quick. Hey,
can I call you back because I'm live on the
radio right now. I just want you to know if
you want to say hi to everybody, I just wasn't
going to ask you something, but I'll call you during
the break, okay.

Speaker 3 (06:25):
No pressure. Just over a million people are listening, Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:27):
Over a million people right now.

Speaker 1 (06:28):
You want to say anything, No, you're good, Okay, all right,
we'll let you get back to sleep anyway. So you
put her on the spot like that, I always do that,
and you know what, I'm gonna pay for that a
little bit later.

Speaker 4 (06:38):
But my favorite wrestler, and I always know this about
Hulk Cogan. People always have like wrestling fans always have
that respect for Hokoking. He's never really anyone's favorite, everyone's
favorite is always kind of subjective.

Speaker 3 (06:46):
My favorite was you know, I had my two favorites action.

Speaker 4 (06:49):
My two first favorite wrestlers were Booker t before he
became Keen Booker and Stone Cold Steve Boston.

Speaker 3 (06:55):
Those were my guys.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
What one beer, two beer?

Speaker 3 (06:58):
I got a glass shattering.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Like you all feel like you know him one day,
like we want to walk through our jobs and just
walk like that with.

Speaker 3 (07:05):
The book it to I got intents like can you
dig it?

Speaker 2 (07:07):
Yes?

Speaker 1 (07:08):
Yeah see and yeah that. But Jake the Snake, he
was a tall guy. He had big old snake in
the bag man like and here's the fun fact. Texas
Motor Speedway actually covered a NASCAR event one time, and
I remember that so like when you're covering NASCAR, there's
so much that you get to see from access wise,
Like I can tell you that I, you know, went

(07:29):
to the restroom and and you know Dale Earnhardt Junior
was next to me in the restroom at the stall.

Speaker 3 (07:34):
Did he did he pick the staller? Did you pick?

Speaker 1 (07:36):
It was pretty weird because like the pit stops, they're
like fast too, you know, you know they're out. But
Jake the Snake was just walking around like I was
like wait, whoa And I was afraid that he had
like the snake with him.

Speaker 2 (07:48):
But I mean he was my guy.

Speaker 3 (07:51):
Who else?

Speaker 2 (07:52):
I mean million Dollar Man.

Speaker 4 (07:54):
Because you're you're air wrestling was like late eighties early now,
of course, so I would probably say Macho.

Speaker 3 (07:58):
Man maybe, uh oh yeah, everyone lets watching man problem.
I think you might have been too young to like
Andre the Giant.

Speaker 1 (08:05):
I think you know, Andre the Giant was first, Like
that's when I was starting to kind of get into it.

Speaker 4 (08:09):
Well because he died like in the mid eighties, nineties, nineties, Okay,
but Hulk Hogan body slammed him, yeah, which we have
to remember that that was at WrestleMania in Detroit where
Hulk and the thing about Hulkan and he's gonna be
missed because he.

Speaker 1 (08:23):
Did so much for the WWE, Like he was Vince
McMahon's guy, right.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
He was almost like.

Speaker 1 (08:29):
The guy that's, hey, we're gonna experiment and do this right,
You're gonna come in and you're gonna be a good guy.
So he's one of the first guys that actually crossed both.

Speaker 4 (08:36):
I also like Sean Michaels a lot of Heartbreak Kids,
Heartbreak Kid.

Speaker 1 (08:40):
Best finisher ever with the foot. Did you ever see
him when he did that with Rick Flair? Here we
are acting like kids right now, because this is what
these people.

Speaker 3 (08:46):
Do to us. What's the thing that wrestling is?

Speaker 4 (08:48):
Like we obviously knowledge is not really it's it's it's
not a sport in the traditional sense.

Speaker 3 (08:52):
It is a sports entertainment, is what it is. It is.

Speaker 1 (08:55):
And you know what, I tell people this all the
time because females have their soap operas, right like General
Hospital has been going on.

Speaker 4 (09:02):
I think just because like because like it's it's it's
just like a soap opera itself.

Speaker 3 (09:06):
It is.

Speaker 1 (09:07):
But yeah, I mean I say that because like my
mom used to tell me this all the time. Yeah,
you know, why are you watching that? I'm like, hey,
you have your soap opera. I've got mine. It's called
the w W.

Speaker 4 (09:17):
And the restlers are better looking people. They are they
just they just are I agree. Yeah, Avery just said
we need to talk when I get oh my god, sorry.

Speaker 1 (09:26):
And DA's watching from Oklahoma right now, and and now
how you doing. Yeah she she tolerated me as a kid.
She's probably got yeah. Yeah, anyways, but yeah, Hulk Hogan
passing away, Ozzy Osbourne passing away. I mean, it's just
one of those things, man, And we say it's the
rule of three, don't we.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Yeah, it's been a hell of a week.

Speaker 4 (09:44):
It's been like Mike, Mike who's uh comes in the
out the week. He calls it the dog days of summer.
You're the cause of that. It has not only been
that much of a dog days because there's always been
something happening.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
Yeah, so, but it's it's been one of those things.
And Hulk Hogan again a staple to the WWE Ozzy
Osbourne obviously a staple to rock and roll and everything
he did. But fun little facts before we go to
break on him. You know, everybody talks about him in
the Alamo and what he did back in the eighties.
But again the Alamo actually released a statement when he

(10:16):
did pass because Ozzie did make up what he did
back in twenty fifteen. He revisited the Alamo, he understood
the history behind the Alamo, and obviously he was a
lot older and a lot smarter, teaching us all what
we all make mistakes when we're younger, but we can
be given forgiveness later. I guess something like that. I
love having allergies right now, Shane. So coming up next,

(10:38):
we're going to talk a little I guess, some rumors
that are going around in the sports world. That's all
next on The Fanatics on tickets seven sixty
