Speaker 1 (00:03):
I am your coach, Will and everybody alongside with Shane
Hard Again, my open invitation to the mayor always you
have my email, you have my number. You are more
than welcome to always join the show whenever you want to.
But again, what a great first hour we had. We
had Counselman Mark White on with us, you know, really
letting us stand where we stand with Project Marvel. And again, guys,

(00:27):
it's up to you, it's up to your vote. Counselman
White saying, you know, hey, we just want to give
you the numbers. We want to present the numbers, and
that's what any good business would do. And he also,
you know, I know sometimes we say that we don't
agree with the mayor, but I think on the statement
of we're the seventh largest city, we should start acting
like it. I think that she should take that message personally,

(00:50):
start acting like it.

Speaker 2 (00:51):
I really hope that wasn't empty politics.

Speaker 3 (00:52):
I really don't just because well, no, no, I mean that
sentiment because Santoni's been the seventh largest city for a
long time. You know, other cities continue to grow some strength.
Santi has been very stagnant, and that's an issue.

Speaker 1 (01:04):
The scary part is is that she did make some
rounds on TV and I was listening to her, and
I was listening to her responses long winded. She doesn't
let you get your point across, and she turns it
to your point across, you know, she said, she said this,
which was kind of like cold to me. Response, Well,

(01:24):
nobody wants the Spurs to move. My question to her,
Shane would be, well, are you one of the nobodies?
Are you one of the ones that don't want that,
or are you trying to put your staple on? And
I get it, our budget is not great for the
city of San Antonio, but it seems like there could
be an answer in Project Marvel.

Speaker 2 (01:42):
There could be a lot of other answers.

Speaker 1 (01:45):
But again, are you going to be the one mayor
that turns it into the city of Oakland?

Speaker 2 (01:50):
And I think that her saying.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
That we should look at what Philadelphia did that that's
not relevant a team a city that has what five
oh Camden Yards was there last year? Sorry squirrel, But
a city that has you know, five or six sports teams?
You want to compare that. Yeah, they can say no
to an arena because they still have to growth somewhere else.

(02:13):
They can wait a little bit, but teams that have one.
You look at Oklahoma City and you look at the
places like Seattle that lost a team. You look at
it places like Oakland that lost everything.

Speaker 2 (02:26):
The only thing left that they have is USL.

Speaker 1 (02:28):
With the Oakland roots, you know, and that's not a
Division one professional team. You don't have that opportunity more.
And let's be honest, Vegas is rolling. Vegas has the money.
Vegas knows exactly how to build these arenas, you know,
and if the Spurs become unhappy, that's a major blow

(02:49):
to this city, you know. So I just think step back,
take your time on it, and just look at the numbers.

Speaker 2 (02:57):
It makes sense. Let's get you in a better mood.
I feel. I feel like, I know you're very passionate
about this kind of stuff. I am, but it's also Sunday.
Have some fun. That's some fun on a Sunday. What
do you want to do? How much on college football? Okay,
we'll go back to college footb let's tal college? What
do you want to do in college football? Okay? So
I actually have a question for you because I know you.

Speaker 3 (03:13):
I know you tease some of the schedules and all
that Okay, So we just talked previously about five dark horses.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
Give me outside outside of the ones.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
We talked about a team that's currently in the top
ten that you think is is not.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Going to be there at the end of the season. Now, Alabama,
you jumped the gun thanks by the question.

Speaker 3 (03:36):
I was gonna say outside of Alabama because we talked
about it last week, that I think they I think
they were legacy ranked todays.

Speaker 2 (03:44):
Georgia.

Speaker 3 (03:45):
Oh Georgia, Okay, are you not buying a gunner stock thing? No,
team's too young kind of thing.

Speaker 1 (03:49):
Teams too young. It's in the top five for the name,
you know, I don't. I don't know really who's going
to compete against Texas and the SEC. All things lead
to Oklahoma, you know, with every expert out there and
everybody's like, oh, here comes dealing with this OU stuff.

Speaker 2 (04:05):
No, it just I don't know about Georgia.

Speaker 1 (04:08):
To be honest with you, I don't feel comfortable with
them in the top five.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
I mean that's fair.

Speaker 3 (04:12):
I mean, what has Georgia done in the last twenty
years that says they have a streak of going ten
consecutive years of being at the top. They have these
blips where they have four or five years of being
elite and they go back to being really to being good.
But they don't have the continuation that Alabama had for
twenty years. They don't have the continuation that USC had
for fifteen years. More damn and guys like that. So Georgia,
I don't know if Gunner Stockton is where I would

(04:33):
put someone like kind of like remember what Garrett Gilbert
did to Texas essentially ten years.

Speaker 2 (04:39):
I'm not putting him down there.

Speaker 3 (04:41):
It's just that there's too much about Georgia that I
could see why you'd say that. But a team that
I'm kind of like not out on, but like I
think they're kind of like giving too much creats is
probably Notre Dame. They lost a lot of starters from
that championship team, that team that made for the championship
against Ohio State, and they oh the crowds to them.

Speaker 2 (05:01):
They don't play cupcakes.

Speaker 3 (05:02):
They always play like big ten ACC type teams every
single year.

Speaker 2 (05:06):
Let's go over their schedule. You have it, Yeah, I've
got it up.

Speaker 1 (05:08):
Okay, So Sunday, August thirty first, as we said earlier, Miami.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
I said Miami would win that I'm a stick with
that one. Now.

Speaker 1 (05:14):
Remember our home and home and we got Texas A
and M Saturday thirteenth. Saturday September thirteenth, A and m's
on the road in Notre Dame to face Notre Dame.
So you got a top ten team, you got a
top and then you got a nineteenth rate Texas A
and M. After that, you hit Purdue. Then you're at Arkansas.

(05:35):
Interesting one here, which could be very interesting Saturday, October
fourth against Boise State. Boise State's coming to Notre Dame,
because you don't know what they're going to look like.

Speaker 2 (05:44):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:45):
After that, you've got n c State and then of
course you've got the Saturday, October eighteenth rival game against USC, which,
shockingly enough, look how fast they've moved that up out
of the holiday mix schedule.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
For Notre Dame in USC obviously USC being.

Speaker 1 (06:02):
Involved in the Big ten November first at Boston College,
which Boston College could surprise you.

Speaker 2 (06:08):
They usually have that on your off here.

Speaker 1 (06:11):
You've got Navy after that, and then you're at Pittsburgh,
then you have Syracuse and then you end at Stanford. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (06:20):
See, I could see. I could see four losses at
least out of that schedule.

Speaker 1 (06:23):
Right, and Notre Dame has to right, they have to
have a strong schedule because they're independent. And I'm just
to a point, why are you independent just in football?
Can you join a conference please?

Speaker 3 (06:36):
Because they're in the ACC right for the form basketball
and baseball and all that. Yeah, it's football is the
only one. It's just because of like media rights with
the NBC.

Speaker 2 (06:44):
Yeah, that's great, but can you join a conference please?

Speaker 3 (06:47):
Okay, So you and I are kind of like we're
not out necessarily, but we're like kind of like watching Georgia, Bama,
Notre Dame teams like that.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Yeah, but my not I guess not my surprise team.
Oh you got one to win it all? Oh to
like with the whole thing. Yeah, let me let me
have it.

Speaker 1 (07:02):
I've got either there's two here, Okay, LSU I like that.
I like we're Penn State.

Speaker 2 (07:08):
Okay, So between those two teams, I think LSU is better.

Speaker 3 (07:11):
Penn State is always gonna be always under James Franklin
is always going to be a contender for the playoffs.
They just for some reason, they whenever they get to
that game to make them to get there, it shuts
off and I don't know why that is, Like they
can beat Ohio State, they can beat Michigan, they can
beat or they have the ability to beat all these
teams in the Big Ten. It's whenever, whenever they get
to a Notre Dame in the semifinals, that all of

(07:33):
a sudden things change.

Speaker 2 (07:35):
True, And I don't have the last year.

Speaker 3 (07:37):
And I know a lot of people are hyping up
Drew Drew Allar the quarterback, potentially being the number one
pick this year.

Speaker 2 (07:42):
I think we're being a little hasty on that.

Speaker 1 (07:44):
I mean, they don't really have a good game until
September twenty seventh.

Speaker 2 (07:47):
Oh, they have like a bunch of cupcases.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
Start.

Speaker 1 (07:49):
We've got Nevada, Florida International, and Villanova.

Speaker 2 (07:53):
Okay, so those are money money, that's money grabbers.

Speaker 1 (07:55):
And then you start your Big Ten, which is against Oregon,
and you're at UCLA Northwestern Iowa could be a sleeper
team this year. Then you go at Ohio State, then
you have Indiana at Michigan State versus Nebraska, and then
at Rutgers.

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Okay, so that's that's actually a pretty There's.

Speaker 1 (08:18):
Really nobody on there that's going to be Oregon is
probably the worst this happens with Penn State all the time, right,
So to me, in my eyes, Penn State always has
this the money grabber games, and then they have those
few games where you're like, okay, they're doing the white out. Okay,
it's important game, Okay, you know. And so I think
their white out game, I'll call it right now, Saturday,
November first, or I'm sorry, not November first, but their

(08:41):
white out game is going to be against Oregon.

Speaker 2 (08:44):
Oregon's their top ten opponent that's at home. Okay, that's
the white out game.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
Yeah, because everybody else that comes home, it's not really
you know. And this will be the first time Oregon's
traveling there, you know, so that should be their game.
Now they'll enter that game three and oh, when you
look at Oregon, let's go over there real quick.

Speaker 3 (09:03):
Before you go over there, I'm curious about how Nebraska
is gonna look your two of Dylan Ryola, because he
showed something as a as a freshman, as a pressure starter,
and they made the bowl game, so that.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
We'll see what he looks like, right.

Speaker 1 (09:14):
And then so when you look at the Oregon Ducks
schedule going into Penn State, they've got a couple more games.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
In front of them.

Speaker 1 (09:22):
They've in fact, they've got four right instead of three.
So they open up next week, Nope, in a couple
weeks Montana State, that's a win, and then they got
Gundhi's Oklahoma State Cowboys.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
If you look at their schedule realistically, because I don't
want to take up too much time with week by week,
how many of those games do you think are actual,
like viable losses if you had to look.

Speaker 2 (09:42):
At it, one about one. One is a Penn State
Penn State. Okay, well that's the thing is like, because.

Speaker 1 (09:51):
Again you don't know what the Big Ten really kind
of holds outside of Michigan. Ohio State and Penn State's
always on the door knocking, right, And then Oregon wants
to put the name out there, which they did last
year because they were in the championship game for the
Big Ten?

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Were they not Big Ten champs? Last people won the
Big Ten? Now they won the Big Ten. They beat
Penn State.

Speaker 3 (10:09):
Yeahhio State lost against Michigan and that kicked them out
of the Big Ten championship.

Speaker 2 (10:14):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (10:14):
So I mean Oregon's already stated their name in the
Big Ten, just like Texas has stated their name in
the SEC.

Speaker 2 (10:20):
So I don't mean, I don't know. Yeah, maybe the
SEC and Big ten are over eight. I'm just kidding.
Oh wow, here we go.

Speaker 3 (10:26):
No, but Organ's a little different than that though, just
because they in the last fifteen years they've made the
championship a couple of times yep, So they had the
ability to get there, and they recruit up to the
same part of these other programs. Yeah, and so like
anytime they lose players, you have that you have more
reliance that.

Speaker 2 (10:41):
They're going to regroup rather than some of the other
guys that were there.

Speaker 1 (10:44):
Yeah, it'll be a very interesting college football scenario as
we get into it, because we are six days away,
ladies and gentlemen from college football taking over our saturdays
technically our Thursday Friday Saturdays. So coming up, we're gonna
talk a little Cowboys football.

Speaker 2 (11:05):
And me being on Netflix. That's our next on the
Fanatics on Ticket seven sixty
