Hello and welcome into it your Sunday Fun Day version
right here on Ticket seven sixty.
Speaker 2 (00:34):
It's the Fanatics.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
I'm your host, Dylan Emery along with Shane Carter, as
we get you ready for your Week two NFL and
we recap what happened yesterday the booze in Austin.
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Wow. Is Texas in trouble?
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Yeah? We're going to talk about that because they're getting
ready to enter SEC play. And that three million dollar
quarterback shirt don't look like at three million dollar quarterback show.
Speaker 3 (00:58):
All I'm saying is is that I I want you,
and I know you're not very good at admitting when
you're wrong.
Speaker 4 (01:03):
I want you to admit right here, right now.
Speaker 3 (01:05):
A few months ago, when you said Arch Manning was
gonna be the number one picking this your draft one.
Speaker 4 (01:08):
I want you to admit, right here, right now, you
are wrong.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
Now here's the thing.
Speaker 3 (01:12):
I want you also to admit that John Matteer, the
trasher quarterback from Washington State who were trash with Oklahoma,
is better than Arch Manning.
Speaker 2 (01:19):
Shane.
Speaker 3 (01:20):
And I also want you to admit that Texas Tech
is the best team in the Big twelve.
Speaker 2 (01:26):
And jeez, the Big twelve or the Big Three.
Speaker 4 (01:28):
I want you to I want you to admit it.
The Big Twelve is nothing. I want you to admit it.
Speaker 2 (01:32):
I will never admit that.
Speaker 4 (01:33):
I want you.
Speaker 1 (01:34):
I told you that the Texas Tech Red Raiders would
win the Big Twelve. I said that at the beginning
of the go back on the tapes, I told you that.
Now here's the thing. Everybody knows this. I am from
the prairie on the Palace. Yep, right, the Palace on
the Prairie. Whatever we say up there in Norman, I'm
a big time Oh you guy. I stay quiet, and
(01:54):
I don't like when people are positive energy about my sooners.
Speaker 4 (01:57):
What are you quiet?
Speaker 1 (01:58):
So I like to turn around and put positive of
energy towards a quarterback that I have nothing and haven't
seen anything of who struggles against u tep utep.
Speaker 4 (02:08):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (02:09):
Now, the thing now you.
Speaker 1 (02:10):
Have to really think about, though, is if you go
back to the SEC media days, arch Many was like, hey, hey,
don't hey, I'm not that guy.
Speaker 2 (02:17):
I'm not that guy. And it seems to be showing now.
Speaker 1 (02:20):
He was telling the truth. He was telling the truth,
you know. And the thing is he was booed yesterday.
Speaker 4 (02:25):
Sha, he was.
Speaker 2 (02:26):
He was booed.
Speaker 4 (02:27):
You see. You saw the clip of him from the game, right.
Speaker 1 (02:30):
Yeah, And I think he had like what sixteen ninion
yards passing in the first half he finished. I think
he finished with about one hundred and seventeen. I think,
let me go to the box score, one hundred and fourteen.
Speaker 3 (02:41):
Your loudest boo that you saw from that game is
when they are like, they're in the red zone, they're
about to score, and it's the second quarter.
Speaker 4 (02:47):
So arch Man is pressure to the left side.
Speaker 3 (02:49):
I believe it was right, and so he using his legs,
which right now were his best attributes, not his arm,
his legs, runs to the right, gets rid of the ball,
throws it in the middle of the field where there's
all kinds of orange, both bright and burnt.
Speaker 4 (03:02):
Yep, and it gets picked off by a minors defender.
Speaker 2 (03:04):
Yeah, and.
Speaker 3 (03:06):
It brought the question, you know, was he right? We
have we over hyped him? And I've been telling you
all for months, yes, I'll have.
Speaker 1 (03:12):
And you know the thing is is that this could
not be playing more perfect for anybody else that doesn't
like Texas right now and then, you know, shout out
to the Aggies, by the way, Yeah, beating Notre Dame
at Notre Dame. Gig them forty one to forty kids
that are trying field goals. I think Kletto's son the
front of the show. Isn't he a field goal kicker?
Speaker 2 (03:33):
I think so.
Speaker 1 (03:34):
I think he's a field goal kicker. All I'm telling you,
kid split the uprights? For how many times we hear
a post getting hit, you know? And we saw it
in the Tennessee Georgia game yesterday that kicker had a
chance to be a hero in Tennessee because other than that,
he did not fit in his uniform at all.
Speaker 4 (03:50):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (03:51):
But to be fair to him, though, don't give me
that five yard penalty because he missed that.
Speaker 4 (03:55):
Like, oh, I wasn't gonna I was going to say that.
Speaker 3 (03:57):
I was saying that the offense probably should have got
that third down urgent to where they could have scored
a test on instead of needing the field goal.
Speaker 4 (04:02):
That was what I was getting with.
Speaker 1 (04:03):
But Hypel got scared after that false start that moved
him back to another five yards, so instead of going
forward on third down, they went for the kick, and
course go into overtime, and then Georgia takes care of it,
making it eight wins in a row now against Tennessee.
That's Hypel's kryptonite right now and the University of Tennessee.
Speaker 4 (04:21):
And good news.
Speaker 3 (04:22):
Also, remember from the A and M Notre Dame game,
those that watched Bryce Anderson, one of the secondary players,
went down with the scary nick injury.
Speaker 4 (04:28):
He was down for a little bit. The players were
on the field praying, we dig a.
Speaker 3 (04:31):
Good news that's he has field in all the extremities
he'd expected to make a full recovery. Obviously, this is like,
you know, this is a very some multi week injury.
We don't know the extent of it, but we've at
least cleared like the worst possible scenario with that.
Speaker 4 (04:45):
Yeah, that's good.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (04:46):
And then shout out to UTSA football in the Battle
of San Antonio. That's what I would call it the
San Antonio Bowl. UTSA handles Incarnate Word forty eight to
twenty and Carnate Ward is not the same team that.
Speaker 2 (04:58):
They were a couple years ago.
Speaker 1 (05:01):
UTSA looks good on point in the first half, a
little sloppy right Shane in the second half, but again
they were able to handle Incarnate Word, giving Incarnate Word
their second loss in getting Utsa's first win of the season.
Speaker 2 (05:15):
So that's good for the UTSA Roadrunners.
Speaker 3 (05:17):
I think Robert Henry, they're running back who I think
has like five hundred something yards through the first three games.
Speaker 4 (05:22):
Something stupid.
Speaker 3 (05:24):
He's gonna get talked about more and more as we
are close to draft cycles if he keeps this up.
He has three games in a row now of a
touchdown run of seventy yards or more. And during the broadcast,
you know Andy and Jay and all those guys, they're
looking up like, has this ever been done before? Has
there been a guy who's had consecutive games having a
seventy plus running th rushing touchdown to start the second half.
Speaker 4 (05:43):
And I'm looking up.
Speaker 3 (05:44):
As well because I'm curious about this this too, and
of course, like there's no article on it, there's no
stats that carry that kind.
Speaker 4 (05:49):
Of thing because it's pointless.
Speaker 3 (05:51):
But Robert Henry, I think, at the very least gives
this offense in a great added dimension.
Speaker 4 (05:56):
And I think we will start hearing about him more
come draft time.
Speaker 2 (05:59):
Yeah, we will, we will, indeed.
Speaker 1 (06:00):
And then next up for UTSA, they will travel to
Colorado State next Saturday night for Under the Stars under
the Lights of Colorado State. That's UTSA and Colorado State Saturday,
September twentieth. And a little boxing news for you from
overnight in case you fell asleep on Netflix. Obviously there
was about four hours of boxing there on Netflix. And
(06:23):
you know what, I'm gonna give a round of applause
to Netflix here.
Speaker 2 (06:27):
You know why sanchastic it didn't buffer.
Speaker 1 (06:31):
They finally got it right, because I've watched Evince before
where it just gets frozen and it was clean all night. Now,
the worst commentator is Max what's his last name?
Speaker 2 (06:43):
Kellerman?
Speaker 4 (06:43):
He sucked.
Speaker 2 (06:45):
That dude sucked.
Speaker 1 (06:46):
You could look like I know I do, and I'm
a lot better looking than him, and also a lot.
Speaker 4 (06:52):
Hold on, hold on, you are way better here's sixth thing.
It has more money.
Speaker 2 (06:57):
Just so you know.
Speaker 1 (06:57):
In the main event, Terrence Crawford defeated Canelo Alvarez unanimous
decision because he owned Canelo. And I hate saying this
the way that I'm saying it, but let's be real, folks,
Terrence Crawford is the real deal now.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
He defeats Canelo Alvarez Unana's decisions Saturday night in front
of a crowd of seventy four and eighty two people.
That's a huge crowd for boxing. Now, Crawford is now
forty two to oh with thirty one of those being knockouts.
The match was one fifteen to one thirteen and the
third one sixteen to one twelve. Crawford moved up two
(07:32):
weight classes, went down to a knee even before the
decision was announced, and wept when he was named the winner.
You have to understand that fight last night. Crawford is
now the guy now, Max who sucked in his postgame
he sounded like this Shane. He would be like, now
(07:54):
see he would just pause where you had dead air
and I'm like, what are you doing now?
Speaker 2 (07:58):
He did make a mistake, yeah, and.
Speaker 1 (07:59):
I'm gonna call it out because I know Canilo Alvarez
fans hurt it too, and it made me turn my head.
Speaker 2 (08:05):
He called Terrence Crawford the goat of this era? Is
that true? And I want people to weigh in.
Speaker 3 (08:12):
Okay, So if we're we're counting real boxing, right, not
that stuff they put on with that guy from YouTube
boxing real boxing, because I think a guy's like, you know,
like Tyson Fury and Deontay Wider like that that that
that trilogy was great, right like that that that was one.
Speaker 4 (08:26):
Of the better ones we've seen before.
Speaker 3 (08:27):
Obviously pe're gonna throw out, you know, Mayweather, But to
me with Mayweather, and I don't know how much you've
seen him fight, he is very much of the best
offense is a good defense mentality. He does not let
he does not throw punch, He lets you tie yourself
out and he and he lands the and he lands
the blows and wins by points. Crawford is very much
a guy who can land points and has sustainability Canelo,
who I think an offense to Canelo. I do think
(08:49):
that his best years are behind him, but he's still
very much an effective fighter.
Speaker 4 (08:52):
I don't know if he's the goat of this era.
Speaker 3 (08:54):
I think right now you could make the argument he's
the most he's the most popular draw of the up
and comers.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
He will bring it stars.
Speaker 3 (09:01):
Yeah, I don't know if he's like the goat of
the era, because first off, what era are we talking about?
Speaker 4 (09:05):
Is it the last ten years?
Speaker 1 (09:06):
Because if we're going back the last ten years, because
you have again Crawford forty three and oh now or
forty two and oh.
Speaker 4 (09:13):
You take that into account, and it has worked.
Speaker 2 (09:15):
His way up.
Speaker 1 (09:16):
I mean, this dude has a belt in every welterweight
out there, right, you know, and that's that's amazing to me,
you know, and to me it's like, you're fighting Alvarez.
If you're going to be something in the boxing world,
you have to defeat people like Alvarez. And he handily
handled Alvarez last night. Alvarez didn't know what was coming. Now,
(09:38):
we get it, like there was a lot of talk
about both men retiring, right because Alvarez is thirty seven,
Crawford is thirty five.
Speaker 2 (09:46):
But the reach on that kid man, that reach.
Speaker 1 (09:49):
That Crawford had on Alvarez was five inches, which you
could tell was the huge difference maker in.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
That fight last night.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
And Alvarez, he would get in there, he would get
his jabs, he would get his punches, but Crawford was
able to bounce back. Towards the eleventh and twelfth round,
Crawford was making Canelo a little wobbly on the feet,
and it was crazy.
Speaker 2 (10:12):
It was crazy to watch.
Speaker 1 (10:14):
And again they set a record of over seventy thousand
fans there. Now the over under here, I think they're
gonna have a rematch.
Speaker 2 (10:23):
They have to.
Speaker 1 (10:23):
Oh yeah, they have to, and it's gonna be in
Saudi Arabia. Well, after last night and seeing everything that
we saw, you.
Speaker 3 (10:31):
See that sometimes because Saudi Arabia has a lot less
sanctions on this kind of thing.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Yeah, in the US and is it me too?
Speaker 1 (10:36):
And I wanted to talk a little bit about WWE,
Shane and know that we're not really fans of it,
but I think they sold out WrestleMania to Saudi Arabia.
Speaker 3 (10:44):
Well, the thing is, like I mean Saudi Arabia, Like,
first of all, they had the money to do it,
and second of all, like WWE, whether it's as popular
as it once was or not, it's not. But whether
it is or isn't, WrestleMania is one of those things
you just buy the tickets to. It's kind of like
whether you like baseball or not, if you had tickets
to the World Series, you.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
Would go to the game.
Speaker 1 (11:03):
So yeah, So I guess a couple of days ago,
wrestle Mania forty three will reportedly be held in Saudi Arabia.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
Now here's the thing. Shame on the WWE.
Speaker 1 (11:13):
I get every other contest, I get boxing, I get
all this, I get everything in the world that would
go over to Saudi Arabia. You tell me who is
a WWE fan? Right, You've got kids that are they
follow it? You've got adults, Yeah, we all follow it.
And like I always say, it's a guy's soap opera,
(11:34):
you know, or soapbox or whatever we call it. And
you're gonna sell yourself out to where you're not gonna
have the fans that you've had, like in MetLife Stadium
or the super Dome, or you're not gonna have those
hundred thousand.
Speaker 2 (11:48):
I don't understand it.
Speaker 1 (11:49):
And there's a lot of wrestlers actually out there that
are kind of standing up against the WWE for this.
So that'll be interesting to watch because apparently it's just
a report and we only like to do reporting around
here allegedly. Yeah, so that'll be interesting. But again, you're
gonna see and I'm gonna call it right now on
the show because that's what we do. You're gonna have
(12:11):
Crawford and Canelo round two.
Speaker 2 (12:14):
You have to.
Speaker 3 (12:15):
Okay, but real quick, because I know we're come up
on a break. Are you finally ready to admit I
was right?
Speaker 2 (12:20):
I like how you're trying to circle back you.
Speaker 4 (12:22):
Are you ready to admit I was right? Yet?
Speaker 1 (12:25):
Just say I don't want to say it with material
yet I can't. I can't say it with material yet?
Well you say it with Arch, yes? Will you say
it with Tech? Is winning the Big Twelve? Yes?
Speaker 2 (12:35):
Yeah, they're gonna win the Big twelve? Hits down because
like right now, sort.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
Like meet Love said, two out of three am bad?
Speaker 1 (12:41):
Hey, but can you tell Lubbick to quit having the
weather delays? It's like two out of three games don't
cover with a giant tortilla. Has Texas Tech been on
the road yet?
Speaker 3 (12:50):
Uh? No? Next week is their first road game. Who
are they playing Utah? That's gonna be good game in Utah.
Huh Yep, you're gonna be big twelve champs. Yes, we'll
find out all right.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Coming up around the break, we're gonna break down Shane's
Big twelve and we're also gonna break down my sec
That's all next on the Fanatics on tickets seven sixty
