We chat with Lee Gambol, an extraordinary science educator and Distance Learning Coordinator for the Cleveland Museum of Natural History. Their interactive virtual learning programs are fantastic and we get to hear some of Lee's thoughts on how to make distance learning classes both authentic and engaging.

About Lee Gambol

Lee Gambol graduated with a B.A. from Hiram College in the early 1990s, where she studied Theatre Arts and Biology.  Since then, she’s held many jobs combining these two passions: Children’s Theatre Actor, SeaWorld of Ohio Educator, Mr. Wizard traveling performer, Great Lakes Science Center Public Programs teacher, animal hospital vet tech, and HealthSpace Cleveland health educator, to name a few. As a 5-yr old visitor to the Cleveland Museum of Natural History, she told her father, “I’m going to work here someday,” and now she does!  As the museum’s Distance Learning Coordinator, Lee develops and has delivered interactive video conference science programs to all 50 states, and 15 countries.

The Cleveland Museum of Natural History makes science relatable by cultivating curiosity! When you visit the Museum, you’ll have the opportunity to delve deep into the past in the dinosaur hall, discover the outer reaches of the Universe in the Shafran Planetarium and experience natural wonders in outdoor galleries. Children can experience hands-on learning in Smead Discovery Center, where the motto is "please touch!".
