This Mother’s Day, we’re not handing out clichés—we’re raising up Deborahs, Rahabs, and Hannahs. This episode of The Forge is a fiery tribute to the fierce, obedient, God-fearing women of Scripture—the ones who didn’t play it safe, but changed history through surrender. Now, when we say “baddies,” we’re not talking Instagram filters and sass—we’re talking about women who obeyed even when it cost them everything. Women who broke rules, broke jars, broke cycles—and still got written into the story of redemption. In this episode, we dive into:
  • 🔥 What makes a biblical “baddie”
  • 👑 Women in Scripture who walked in bold, holy obedience
  • 🤱 The call to spiritual motherhood, not just biological
  • 🛡 A prophetic word for women who feel overlooked, unseen, or unqualified
If you’ve ever felt “too much,” “too broken,” or “too tired”—this one’s for you.
You’re not too much. You’re called. You’re dangerous—to the enemy. 🔗 Scriptures: Genesis 16, Genesis 38, Judges 4, Joshua 2, Luke 1, John 12, Titus 2

Speaker 1 (00:00):
Welcome to the forge built by women. Today's episode is
a Mother's Day tribute, but not the soft focus tulips
and toast kind. This one's for the mothers who birth
purpose in pain, the women who war in the spirit

(00:20):
while folding that laundry, the women who raise babies, build legacies,
and five battles heaven records. We're calling this episode the
baddies of the Bible. So when I came up with
this topic, I started thinking, Okay, let's see how this
is going to play out, because I'm getting ready to
use the word batty, and that could just make people,

(00:42):
especially Christians, cringe. But when I am saying batties, we're
not talking about that Instagram filter and the SaaS. We're
talking about the fears god fearing women who obeyed when
it cost them everything. The world called them scam handless
by heaven, call them righteous, and make no mistake, these

(01:05):
women didn't wait for permission to walk in their purpose,
not this one. They trusted the God who called them,
and even when the culture didn't. Let's name a few,
shall we, because it's good to name them. So we
have Tamar in Genesis thirty eight, used wisdom and boldness

(01:30):
to pursue justice. Her story was messy, but her legacy
was Maysianic. I should say it is because we still
refer back to these encounters of history. And what I
love is that she's also a part of the lineage

(01:51):
of our Messiah. How beautiful it is to be a
part of something. How about rehab? You know? Founding Joshua
two Matthew fifteen or I'm sorry, Matthew chapter one and
five was gentle and a prostitute. How did those two
go together? It did? Who feared the Lord and hid

(02:12):
the Israelite spies. She wasn't disqualified. She was chosen for
such a time as that. Joelle Judges chapter four twenty one.
Didn't just watch the war. She ended it. That girl
and did it, and was sneaky when she drove the

(02:35):
ten peg through the enemy's skull and was praised in
a song. Oh yeah, she said, come in here, let
me give you a glass of warm milk. Lord Deborah
Judges chapter four and five. She was a prophet, a judge,

(02:56):
and a military leader. She didn't just praise, She led it.
She led. She led the Canadi Mother Matthews fifteen twenty
one and twenty eight. She begged Jesus for healing, and
when he tested her, she didn't back down. She said,
great is your faith. Now come on in hear and

(03:18):
heal me. Come on. These are women that don't back
down and do not let go, despite of what people say,
despite of what the culture has put together, Besides despite
of the statistics all right that says, you know, these
type of nationalities can't do X y Z or always
seem prone to be xy. You know, the stereo quoting

(03:41):
was gone, like they didn't care. They're getting married. Of
Bethany John twelve three, she broke open her most valuable
possession to anoint our Lord. Everyone else criticized is this
very moment? But Jesus said, lead her alone, my God.

(04:09):
Each of them refused to play is safe. Each of
them walked in faith and not fear. So if you've
ever felt too loud, to messy, too complicate it, you're
in good company. God uses women. Culture cast is out.

(04:31):
Look at Mary the mother Jesus, a teenage girl from
a forgotten town. Yet when Heaven spoke, she said, be
it onto me, according to your word, Luke one thirty eight.
We are women that say be it onto me according
to your word. That's legacy. God isn't looking for the

(04:53):
perfect resumes. He's looking for the radical yes, that says,
be it onto. Let's make it clear. This just isn't
about the biological motherhood. The Bible honor spiritual mothers, those
who disciples, those who mentor those who pray and raise

(05:14):
others up in the faith. Titus chapter two three and
five calls other women to train the younger, to teach
what is good and to be reverenced in behavior. So,
whether you have a physical children or not, if you're
investing in others, you are building a kingdom legacy. Raising

(05:36):
the next generation is warfare period. Whether it's your kids,
your students, or your spiritual daughters, you're doing holy work
and the enemy knows it. That's why he attacks women's confidence.
That's why he tries to tame the Doboras and silence
the Esthers. But this generation doesn't need passive women. Know

(06:02):
we need righteous rebels, women who know the Bible and
their authority. Women who pray like Hannah, lead like the
Borough and endoor like Ruth, and weep at Jesus's feet
like Mary. Women who don't just show up to brunch,
but show up to battle. That's right. If you've felt unseen,

(06:27):
like Hagar in the wilderness, know this God sees you
Genesis sixteen thirteen. You are the God who sees me.
If you ever felt too broken, remember about rehab. If
you ever felt too late, what about our girl Sarah.
If you ever felt too tired, remember Hannah. She was tired.

(06:50):
She was so tired, she was mumbling. People thought that
she was drunk. If you felt too much, remember the
woman who broke the jar. You were never too much,
and you will never be too much for Jesus. You're
not just a woman. You're a warrior. You're not just
a mom. You're a multiplier. You're a deliverer. You're not

(07:13):
just tired. You're dangerous to the enemy. So this Mother's Day,
let's honor the spiritual mom's discipling daughters who aren't theirs
by blood, the fierce women who say yes when it's hard,
and the prayer warriors who cover their homes like prophets.

(07:33):
You are not overlooked, You are not disqualified. You are
not just a side character in someone else's story. You
are called, You have been anointed, and you are set
up for a part for this. Our bodies in the
Bible walked so we could run. They were the examples
that are teaching us how to go and build a legacy.

(07:59):
Share this what a woman you admire. Remember, obedience was
making history. Happy Mother's Day. From the Forge
