(00:04):
And welcome in. This is theGo Go Travel Show. We are podcasting
live from the Pittsburgh Travel show Case. I'm your host, Johnny Hartwell and
my next guest is Clark Dumart fromrail Booker's Group and Amtrak. You got
to Amtrak Vacations. You got it, Okay, so tell me rail it's
the hot thing. My son's fiance'sgrandfather just took an Amtrak tour and he
(00:30):
said it was the best thing thathe has ever done and the only thing
he regrets is that he didn't doit earlier. Does that make sense?
That makes perfect sense. I hearthat every day. I'm sure you do.
So tell us everything we need toknow. And you know, why
isn't that people don't know that Amtrakhas this opportunity? Really? Yeah,
the train I think is one ofthe most fascinating things out there, and
(00:54):
it is, you know, somethingvery unique that involves just some of the
most nostalgic trips. So you cantake in some of the most scenic routes
in the United States, and notjust the United States but worldwide. Actually,
what really, so, how doyou take a train to to Europe
or you get the Europe and theSo that's the thing. So you just
got to get yourselves across the pond, get yourselves to where you want to
(01:15):
go. In Europe, Asia,Africa, Australia, we go all over.
Anywhere the train goes, we go. Wow. All right, So
what's the hot locations here in theUS? Okay? So our top locations
national parks. It's all about nationalparks, especially in the last time.
That's exactly what he did too.Yeah, it doesn't surprise me. But
(01:38):
our top destination this past year,as it is every year, Glacier National
Park. That's what he said,is it? He's perfect? He goes.
It was because he went and hecircled back to the Grand Canyon,
and he said, to be honestwith you, a Glacier National Park was
more scenic than than anything that hecould ever imagine. If there's one place,
I recommend everyone try to make ittoo in the States before they die.
(02:00):
It's Glacier. Now. For peoplewho have never been there, like
myself, tell us try to describeit. What is it like? It
is just a beautiful, untouched byhumanity area of the United States, and
it is extremely mountainous. And what'sreally amazing is that amtrak was constructed that
goes essentially right by Glacier National Park, and there's several stops you can take
(02:24):
the train to get off the train, spend some time enjoying the park,
enjoying the beauty of nature, andjust being in a very remote and underappreciated
part of the country. So hewent from there to I think Yellowstone,
and then he went Yosemite and thenwent down through California into a You could
(02:45):
go almost anywhere you want to go. Correct. There's actually only two states
in the mainland United States that thetrain does not go to, and that's
South Dakota and Wyoming. Everywhere elsewherever the train goes, we go.
And we offer vacation packages with hotels, tours, and sight seeing transfers combined
(03:05):
with your train trip. All right, So they contact you and you pretty
much do everything step by step andyou just ask them, you know,
what exactly do you want to experience, and you kind of plan everything exactly.
And the best part is we arepartnered and preferred with Triple A and
so when you meet with a TripleA agent, a travel agent, they
will make everything so easy. Youcan quite literally walk in off the street
(03:29):
and tell them here's my list ofplaces I want to go to. Let's
say you want to go to Europewith you and your family. You want
to go to London, you wantto go to Madrid, Florence, Munich.
Our team is trained and Triple Ais trained to piece that together the
most efficient way possible and make fora very memorable vacation for you're fan just
about any continent except for Antarctica, maybe hopefully soon. All right, So
(03:54):
if somebody wants more information, what'sthe what's the website that they should get
do? So we have two brands, Amtrak Vacations if you're interested in visiting
somewhere in the mainland United States AmtrakVacations dot com and Railbookers dot com covers
everything outside of that, including Alaska, Canada, Asia, Australia, Europe,
and more to come, South America. Have you gone on? What
(04:17):
continents have you visited? So far? My focus has been the US and
Canada, so all of North Americaand Europe have actually been to fifteen different
countries to this point, but hopefullymore to come later in the year.
So from what other countries? Mainlyin Europe? Mainly in Europe? All
right? So what are some areasthat you recommend to see? So Italy
(04:38):
in Switzerland or actually our top twobest selling destinations. So if you're gonna
take you and your family there,if you're interested in going, you got
to book it now because they sellout more in advance now than ever before.
But you have some of the mostbeautiful train routes. Switzerland has the
Glacier Express, for example. It'sone of the most trending trains that goes
through the Swiss Alps. So thatis something I always recommend if you're looking
(05:01):
for a very amazing, trained memorablevacation. Of course, Italy is one
of the hottest tickets ever and alwaysit always will be. Yeah, all
right, once again, what arethe websites? So, Amtrak Vacations dot
com for our US, Reelbookers dotCom for everything outside of the United States.
All right, thank you so much, Thank you,
