The Great Detectives of Old Time Radio Volume 1

Adam Graham continues his journey through Old Time Radio Detective programs from their first available adventure to their final bow in Seasons 1-3 which were released between 2009 and 2012, featuring nearly 800 Old Time Radio episodes. In this volume, you'll hear: Alan Ladd playing Dan Holiday, a reporter-mystery writer who will go anywhere and do anything to those who send him a letter to Box 13. Jack Webb as Pat Novak for Hire, a Man Who Rents Boats and also ends up getting involved in murders in the most hard-boiled detective series of them all Before he was Johnny Dollar, Bob Bailey starred in Let George Do It as George Valentine, a detective who advertised that danger was his stock and trade. The New Adventures of Sherlock Holmes featuring early 1930s episodes with Richard Gordon and Luis Hector, followed by the definitive performance of Basil Rathbone and Nigel Bruce as SHerlock Holmes and Watson as well as later series starring Tom Conway and John Stanley as Holmes. The early adventures of the Man with Action-Packed Expense Account with episodes starring Dick Powell, Charles Russell, Edmond O'Brien, and John Lund,. Jack Webb and later Frank Graham star as Jeff Regan, Investigator, a detective who was known as the Lyon's Eye. Jeff Chandler stars in a failed Pilot for San Francisco Final The Radio Adventures of the Thin Man including radio adaptations of the first two Thin Man Movies starring William Powell The Father Brown radio series starring Karl Swenson Golden Age Radio episodes featuring Rex Stout's housebound sleuth Nero Wolfe, most notably played by Sidney Greenstreet. The mid-1950s series features a Detective and His Glamourous Wife in The Adventures of the Abbotts. William Gargan stars in two separate detective series as hard-boiled private eye Ross Dolan in I Deal in Crime and as Barrie Craig, Confidential Investigator Dick Powell's first hard-boiled detective series in Rogue's Gallery. Glamourous Private Eye Candy Matson solves crimes in San Francisco Glenn Ford stars as Christopher London Before he became, a famous journalist known for 60 minutes, Mike Wallace starred in Crime on the Waterfront The old-time radio adventures of Hercules Poirot starring Harold Huber. This one's about Pete Kelly (played by Jack Webb) in Pete Kelly's Blues, a 1920s Blue Clarinet Player who gets into trouble and mystery in Kansas City The Adventures of Frank Race, a former lawyer who became a freelance troubleshooter. Broadway Legend Walter Hampden stars as Leonidas Witherall, a boy's school headmaster who looks like William Shakespeare and finds mystery and adventure. J. Scott Smart stars as The Fat Man, the rotund private eye with the famous theme.
