Anyone who thinks Hide and Seek is strictly for kids,
or to take a look at Mario Gentili. Mario has
been playing the game for years, and very successfully too.
But then look what he'll do not to be caught.
Twenty four hours ago, he was in Naples, where he
grabbed the night boat for Palermo sicily. While the ship
plowed through the straits of Messina, Mario made like a
butterfly when he emerged from his cocoon. His brown hair
(03:33):
was dyed black and his mustache was gone. Six hours later,
the new Mario was relaxing in the furnished room off
the Via Vittorio Emanuel in Palermo. Ah, but even the
best of us have to be it once in a while,
And if you believe in sound effects, this may be
Mario's turn. Now? Who who is it?
Speaker 4 (03:53):
Eat? Eda?
Speaker 5 (03:54):
Mario woo Eda Cassalini Momento.
Speaker 4 (03:59):
Oh my dam give me, but it has been so long.
Speaker 2 (04:06):
Who told you I was no one? Then? How did
you find out?
Speaker 5 (04:09):
Every night I watched the boat from Naples, hoping someday
you would return.
Speaker 4 (04:14):
Tonight my wish was granted.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
How did you recognize me?
Speaker 5 (04:18):
It would take more than that here to fool a
woman in love? Oh Mario, where did you leave?
Speaker 2 (04:25):
Because I had business to it?
Speaker 4 (04:27):
There was not another woman?
Speaker 6 (04:28):
No, you lie.
Speaker 4 (04:30):
I saw a girl with you that morning you left.
Speaker 2 (04:32):
She was a business assertion.
Speaker 4 (04:33):
I'll kill her if I ever see her again.
Speaker 2 (04:34):
I don't be a fool. Get out.
Speaker 4 (04:36):
No, no, I did not. Minute, Mario, give me one
more chance. Will you Behave I swear my father's grave.
You won't regret it, darling. If there is anything I
can do.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
That is can you get in touch with young Canaldi?
For me?
Speaker 4 (04:51):
Is she the one you.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Are talking like a fool? I must see if younger?
There is no one here by that we know better?
You idiot. You let them hear, Darling, I was most careful.
You might as well surrender, Mario. We have the buildings
around them. Listen. There is a staircase in the kitchen.
(05:14):
It leads to the roof.
Speaker 6 (05:15):
I will not go without you.
Speaker 2 (05:16):
You will do it if anyone asks you. We've been
hanging wash up there?
Speaker 4 (05:22):
Now when will I see you?
Speaker 2 (05:24):
Sooner than you think? Now? Go where? If your wife
chance you did it? Are you going to open the door?
Or shall I have my men break it? Down.
Speaker 7 (05:32):
That won't be necessary, torrente, all right, gently, the three
men searched the place, marand.
Speaker 2 (05:43):
What is the meaning of this? May I see your papers? Please?
Speaker 8 (05:46):
My papers, of course, but I assure you that you're
superior officer.
Speaker 9 (05:53):
Yes, I seem to have mislaid them. I submit you
never had them to begin with. What is your name, Marios?
It was not always so, was it. You were once
known as Mario Tossel. You are insane, but you know
who Mario Toselli is.
Speaker 2 (06:12):
I have no idea. Well, if you will be.
Speaker 7 (06:14):
Kind enough to accompany me to the Palazzo Caramonte, I
will be only too happy to enlighten you after using
your ente.

Forgive me if I seem a great for your hospitality,
But I've been here for three hours and I've yet
to learn.
Speaker 2 (06:47):
The charges against.
Speaker 7 (06:51):
Patience is a great virtue, Mario, you should cultivate it.
As it happens, we are waiting for an American. An American,
a gentleman named Michael Wearing. Perhaps you have heard of him, no,
a distinguished personality. He was once a private investigator in
the United States, called the Falcon A very colorful name. No, no,
(07:12):
a matter of taste.
Speaker 2 (07:13):
Today. He is with American intelligence. It is of no

your countenance.
Speaker 2 (07:28):

your curiosity? No, and what's it all about? First? I
should like you to beat Mario jent tailor. Mario. This
is your wearing. I am delied. Well, I'm not. Look, Lieutenant,
you didn't bring me all away from Rome to meet him,
but you are familiar with his reputation. Yeah, he's an
organizer for the Communist Party. That does not arouse your interest. No,
(07:51):
the party is not Lower Italy.
Speaker 7 (07:52):
Ah, but suppose I told you in an earlier day
he had another name. Prior to nineteen forty five, he
was known as Mario to sal you'll recognize.
Speaker 2 (08:04):
Sure. The Allied War Crimes Commission has been looking for
him for years. I've got a rope necktie I'd like
to try on him. Fassan, this is absurd. I never
even heard of the man, and you're the only one itally,
Who hasn't the Selli organized a squadron Dotzioni and the
Milititia vo Ontario for shot Sisty, Mussolini's personal strong arm squat.
I think of it, Michael. Today we are honored by
the presence of each found. You are mistaken. What were
(08:27):
you doing in nineteen forty five?
Speaker 10 (08:28):
I was fighting with the Partisans near Genova.
Speaker 2 (08:31):
Who is your commander? You will not find any record
for him. You were a small group, and prior to
forty five, I was in frank doing what That is
my own affair, But I tell you I'm not, and
I should be easy enough to check. But then I
didn't to Sally. Come from Asina and see, and I'll
take him their first thing in the morning. In the meantime,
can you put them away on ice? I'd hate from
the spoil after all these.
Speaker 11 (08:52):
Years, or of course there it is only me, your honor.
Speaker 4 (09:04):
I wish to see the prisoner Mario Genteely.
Speaker 2 (09:07):
It is not permitted.
Speaker 4 (09:08):
I have written authorization from Lieutenant Balbo.
Speaker 2 (09:11):
Let me see.
Speaker 4 (09:14):
You're holding it upside down? Can't you read?
Speaker 2 (09:18):
You take me for an illiterate, Of course I can.
This is most strange.
Speaker 4 (09:24):
I was instructed that you questioned the authority of the tenanty, of.
Speaker 2 (09:27):
Course not what do you have another basket?
Speaker 5 (09:31):
Some food for my cousin. See a bottle of wine
and some cheese.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
All right, how are you?
Speaker 4 (09:41):
The lieutenant was most kind?
Speaker 2 (09:43):
You might have five minutes.
Speaker 4 (09:44):
We are most grateful your honor.
Speaker 2 (09:48):
I warn you not to create any disturbance. How did
you manage to see?
Speaker 4 (09:53):
It was most official looking? Now there is a great art.
Speaker 10 (09:56):
You should not have taken the chance they will discover
the forgery in a minut.
Speaker 4 (10:00):
A minute is all I require.
Speaker 5 (10:02):
I brought you some food, Mario, see your favorite one

Speaker 4 (10:09):
She hopes you will drink our health careful.
Speaker 2 (10:13):
There is a stiletto.
Speaker 5 (10:15):
It may be him, but he's made of the finest deer. God, God,
you know how much I love.
Speaker 6 (10:21):
There was never any doubt in my mind you'll be
able to use.
Speaker 2 (10:25):
It is indeed tomorrow Alpa railroad. But this is near
wedding for.
Speaker 10 (10:28):
Messina, and this may be just the thing to relieve
the monotony of the tripod.
Speaker 12 (10:35):
My thanks to your very dear mother, got sudden. It
lacks ten minutes of one o'clock. You're wearing as our
friend Mary are doing.
Speaker 2 (10:57):
He's asleep. Shall I waken him? Now? There was plenty
of time. I wonder if they get anything to read
on this train I saw event or in the next car.
I don't know this with a super chief. All I'd have
to do is buzz. If you would have liked me,
no thanks, I'll do it myself. Keep an eye on
sleeping beauty. You may arrest DISI signor sir.
Speaker 11 (11:17):
Jenti Giovanni Martellier, sh'll never be traded.
Speaker 2 (11:19):
Trush, okay, Paisan, I'll be back in a couple of minutes.
Huh ah, I trush to you.
Speaker 7 (11:28):
Slept well, Camrade Mario eh one observing you would think
you had not a care in the world.
Speaker 2 (11:34):
I haven't. If you overlook these handcuffs, what do you
happen to have a cigarette or see? Gret. You know,
sir Genti, you are a very good fellow.
Speaker 10 (11:44):
You know you made a very definite impression on my
cousin your CAUs. The young lady who visited me and
my cell yesterday, she thought you were very handsome.
Speaker 2 (11:53):
She did. She is your most attractive female herself. Hey
would deal card address very much.
Speaker 10 (12:03):
She lives at numerous Tracento Via Karanta said, why don't
you write it down?
Speaker 2 (12:10):
I will remember it. You said that Trasian, you cannot try.
My schooling was interrupted, very tender, Ageca.
Speaker 10 (12:21):
It's very understandable. If you will remove the handcuffs, I
will be very glad to do it for you. What come, serge,
And certainly you have no fear of me. Well proportioned
man like yourself. That was the first thing Eda noticed
about you. Even that uniform couldn't hide those muscles.
Speaker 13 (12:38):
Hard work, does it well?
Speaker 2 (12:41):
It is out of the question.
Speaker 10 (12:42):
Oh, of course you are afraid of the American sennor.
Speaker 2 (12:46):
Sir Jojo Giovanni fears no one stick up your hand.
Many thanks, my friend. Allright, write it down before seeing
your wearing returns. It will be a pleasure. I believe
I had a pen in my pack. Yes, he where
did you get a knife? Got mistaken?
Speaker 13 (13:05):
Is a pen here?
Speaker 2 (13:07):
You can feel the point, Mario, Yes, sergeant, Yes.
Speaker 14 (13:12):
Indeed, I'm sorry it had to view. I would have
preferred that if it were sergeant wearing.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
Sargent. I fear we shall never meet the girl.
Speaker 3 (13:40):
You and your children can expect to live long. Thanks
largely to better medicine and surgery. But you could expect
to live even longer were it not for the danger
of automobile accidents. If driver education could be taught in
all of our schools instead of only a third of them,
it might someday help to save the life of your
own son or daughter. Remember in your own automobile to
drive as though your life depends on it.
Speaker 13 (14:02):
It does. Now back to the adventures of the Falcon.
Speaker 2 (14:17):
Well, that's Cicily boy and the land of hot tempers
and coal steel. And when I got back to my
compartment on the train, I found Mario Genteeli was gone,
but the good sergeant was still waiting. He was huddled
on the floor, the blood pouring from half a dozen wounds. Yeah,
Giovanni had reached the end of the line. But I
had a hunch the big attraction for Mario was in Palermo,
(14:37):
where we all started. So I headed back for the
Hotel Rodolpho to await further developments. And they weren't long
in coming.
Speaker 8 (14:45):
Excuse me, please, I'm looking for the signor microwery.
Speaker 2 (14:49):
I'll come in my card, Senior Suzan and de Lavoro.
See it was suggested by the Lieutenant Balbo that I
see you. I want sit down, gret you care join
me in later? Perhaps? All right? What can I do
for it? Alavar own, you have it within your power
to save my life.
Speaker 8 (15:09):
You had in your custody yesterday A man was called
himself Mario Gentile.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
That was not his right name. How do you know?
Speaker 8 (15:17):
Because I have known him since nineteen hundred thirty four.
In those days he was known as Mario tos Hell.
You sure that positive? We were almost inseparable, And I'm saying,
I assure you, Senor, I was not a fascist. I
knew Tosll it purely in a social way. He was
in love with a woman named Margarita Pecci. I took
her away.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
Let me get this stray. She honored me by becoming
my wife. And how did Sally take that?
Speaker 9 (15:42):
Oh?
Speaker 2 (15:42):
Most badly.
Speaker 8 (15:44):
He swore to kill us both. It was only by
going to France that we managed to escape his vengeance.
And you think he returned to Palermo to keep his
oath for myself? I do not care, Signor, But Margherita,
whether she nor Mario's entelemon or sicily knows the papers
have carried little else. It was her idea, I consult
the carabinieri.
Speaker 2 (16:04):
I where's your wife now? Or she waits for me
at Laura's hotel Lauren, Laura Reynolds. She's an old friend, Margherita.
What does she look like? Was she most attractive?
Speaker 6 (16:15):
No?
Speaker 2 (16:15):
No, no, I mean is she a blonde brunette? Or
why a woman visited Mario gently in a soll before
he escapes, and we've got a hunch she supplied as
to let home? Or it could not be Laura? Why not?
Or she's an American? I see, I'll tell you why
not to worry the labora. Not that that will stop her,
but I promise you we'll do everything we can.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
Cordrom chinky. Is the clock right, Laura?
Speaker 6 (16:53):
No, it's a couple of minutes slow, Margherita, But she.
Speaker 4 (16:56):
As I promised to call my four. Something must have
happened to him.
Speaker 6 (16:59):
Maybe it was hit by car.
Speaker 4 (17:00):
How can you say such things?
Speaker 6 (17:03):
It's real eazy.
Speaker 4 (17:04):
You never liked my husband.
Speaker 6 (17:05):
I never like Spinachita, So what is that proof?
Speaker 4 (17:08):
As far as Chester, I will not permit you to
say another word against him?
Speaker 6 (17:12):
Used to listen?
Speaker 4 (17:13):
Ever, since.
Speaker 6 (17:15):
That must be Chester, you come in.
Speaker 2 (17:19):
I trust you ladies will excuse me, but I am
searching for the Signora de la Warre. I am Margharita Delor.
I kiss your hands, Signor. I recognize you immediately from
your husband's description. I am Antonio Lombardi.
Speaker 4 (17:36):
Antonio Lombardi, the.
Speaker 2 (17:39):
Chaser may not call and advise you. I was to
drive you home. No, that is most strange.
Speaker 6 (17:44):
That is the understatement of the Oh, forgive me, Signor Lombardi.
Speaker 4 (17:50):
This is my old friend.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Laura Reynolds delighted.
Speaker 6 (17:53):
Oh it's my pleasure. Why didn't chesure I can hear
himself with.
Speaker 2 (17:57):
The problem at hand, he thought it best not to
take chance. What about it has all been taken care of.
Shall we go?
Speaker 6 (18:05):
Yes? Of course? Good bye, Laura Maria minute.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
Oh sorry that I do not wish to keep Chester away.
Speaker 6 (18:10):
Well call me the minute you get home. I've got
the strangest.
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Feeling your concern. Does your credits in your ina? But
you need not worry. Rest assured I shall take care
of her properly.
Speaker 4 (18:34):
Signior Lombardi. See did you not say we were to
meet Chester at home?
Speaker 2 (18:39):
Did I? Yes? Then so be it. I would never
think to contradict the lady, but this is not the
way to be a Toledo. We are going south.
Speaker 4 (18:49):
There is the marina, the.
Speaker 6 (18:50):
Sea is over.
Speaker 2 (18:51):
There will the miracles never cease? I would have sworn.
Speaker 4 (18:57):
What are you stopping here for?
Speaker 2 (19:00):
For this?
Speaker 3 (19:02):
Can't you must understand, my dear, I bear no grievance
against you personally, but my employer.
Speaker 13 (19:09):
Who is your employer?
Speaker 2 (19:11):
Would you care to venture? I guess no, I.
Speaker 6 (19:14):
Don't have to.
Speaker 12 (19:15):
I know.
Speaker 2 (19:17):
Let's go before. Oh why must you women always be
so difficult? Is that your Margarita? That's Mike wearing? Or
(19:39):
just a moment sen you're wearing? This is a surprise.
Please come in. Thanks, I'm so sorry. My wife is
not here to meet you. She would be most honored. Lord.
There's something I've got to tell you. I just came
from Lieutenant Balbo's office.
Speaker 8 (19:53):
He has apprehended Mario gent No, not yet, but then
what is it?
Speaker 2 (20:00):
But tell me? Signor what is it? It's about your wife?
Something has happened to her? Yes? Or where is she?
Where is she? You must take me too hard at once?
Wouldn't do any good? No, No, I'm afraid it's yes.
He kept his promise. I feel kind of helpless to
leave our own. But if there's anything I can do,
(20:21):
no no signor no one can help me. If you
will be so kind as to leave me nigh would
like to be alone for a while. That's the story,
Miss Reynold's. The carabinieri found a body an hour ago. Naturally,
(20:44):
I thought you should know quite.
Speaker 6 (20:45):
A feeling when I saw that man. Couldn't you trace
him through the car?
Speaker 2 (20:48):
You tell me how well?
Speaker 6 (20:49):
I watched them from the window as they walked out.
His car was parked right across the street.
Speaker 2 (20:53):
It wasn't the Blue and Ash.
Speaker 6 (20:55):
How did you know?
Speaker 2 (20:56):
And Torrest reported the stolen early this afternoon. Now getting
back to this Antonio Lombardi. What did he look like?
Speaker 6 (21:02):
Hell, he's about five foot five, dark haired depp.
Speaker 2 (21:05):
You're sure it wasn't Mario Gentili.
Speaker 6 (21:07):
No, no, I'm positive I've seen Gentile's picture.
Speaker 2 (21:09):
And he must have been an old comrade doing Mario.
Speaker 6 (21:11):
V Then why did he say cesare?
Speaker 2 (21:13):
But you don't think your friend Margharita would have gone
with a move. He admitted he came from Mario.
Speaker 6 (21:17):
Why didn't cheseret call the way he promised?
Speaker 2 (21:20):
Because when he left me he went into a huddle
with Lieutenant Baubo at the Palazzo Calamante.
Speaker 6 (21:24):
Well, I still think it's strange.
Speaker 2 (21:26):
That's your privilege. How long have you known De Lavaron?
Speaker 6 (21:30):
I met him at can a year ago, and his
wife I met her at the same time.
Speaker 2 (21:34):
It's funny. I had an idea you and Margarita were
practically sorority sisters.
Speaker 15 (21:39):
You know.
Speaker 6 (21:39):
I don't think I like your attitude.
Speaker 2 (21:41):
I don't blame you. I don't like it myself. You
might if I use your phone go out ahead. Thanks.
Speaker 6 (21:46):
I hope that's a local call.
Speaker 2 (21:49):
It is. I'd like to see how De Lavoro is
getting along. You had a feeling I shouldn't have left him.
Hello De la Baron? Who is this Mike wearing? What
the name of heaven? Signor are you? I have been
searching all over Palermo for you. Why what's up? I
just heard from Mario Gentile when.
Speaker 8 (22:06):
Not more than five minutes ago he said now that
he had these sports.
Speaker 2 (22:09):
Of Margarita, it was my due. I listened to Laboron.
I'm going to hang up as soon as I do.
I want you to call Autenant. Balbo does not matter anymore. Signor.
I just wish to thank you. For all that you do. Hello,
Hello the laboro.
Speaker 6 (22:24):
What's the trouble?
Speaker 2 (22:25):
And you call it angel? From where I'm sitting, it
sounds like murder.
Speaker 6 (22:29):
Let's hope I'm wrong, doesna?
Speaker 2 (22:38):
You didn't really expect him to All right, get out
of the way.
Speaker 4 (22:42):
What are you going to do?
Speaker 2 (22:43):
Put my foot through the panel?
Speaker 6 (22:44):
There ought to be an easier way, Well there is,
but this is more fun lot.
Speaker 2 (22:49):
I don't want to do it now. Let's see if
I can reach the lock from here? Andre madam?
Speaker 6 (22:56):
Thank you?
Speaker 2 (22:58):
Oh no, what don't you notice anything unusual?
Speaker 4 (23:01):
But what do you expect me to do?
Speaker 6 (23:02):
Screen? I had my hopes, but I'm sorry if I disappointed.
Speaker 2 (23:07):
That's what I call a double take.
Speaker 6 (23:10):
He isn't there?
Speaker 2 (23:11):
No, see if there's any brandy around you think you
should have it?
Speaker 13 (23:14):
No?
Speaker 2 (23:14):
But I could stand a drinks and you're wearing and
don't talk. You got here a little late. Oh don't
you worry, dollabaro. You're going to be fine, but you
cannot afford me.
Speaker 4 (23:22):
No.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
I mean it's practically ascribed, but it burns well, that's
to be expected. Was it Mario or Genteelin? I couldn't
say for sure. I did not see his face. Wait
a second, that's this in the corner.
Speaker 6 (23:34):
Eh?
Speaker 2 (23:36):
Oh, what do you know? It is a gun? Yep,
that's what it is, German mars. You know it looks
kind of familiar. Is it the same weapon that towards you?
I would be surprised. You gotta handkerchief.
Speaker 6 (23:48):
Finally managed to locate some brandy.
Speaker 2 (23:50):
Nice work, Angel, give him a shot.
Speaker 4 (23:52):
What about you?
Speaker 2 (23:53):
I'll take a rain check right now. I want to
see Lieutenant bowball with a little luck. I think we
can wrap this up, my friend.
Speaker 7 (24:06):
Much as it pains me to disagree with you, you
are wrong. Mario Gentile is not within fifty miles of Palermo.
Speaker 2 (24:12):
Then who took that shot at the Lavoro? The same
Assassi who killed his wife? Doubted, Lieutenant. If a man
is motivated by revenge, he'll want to do some of
the trigger pulling himself. Otherwise, why did he come back
to Sicily in the first place? That is a very
good question. We got a million good questions. What we
need is a couple of answers. You think your ballistics
departments through checking the gun, we shall see.
Speaker 7 (24:35):
Gent tity barbequi if you need to call Okay, m
what are you saying the car was a German manufacturer?
Speaker 2 (24:48):
It was a mouse. Oh tell me something. I don't know.
What about fingerprints? Not a one. We expected that. I
don't suppose they were able to run down the serial numbers.
On the contrary, might there they were most successful. The
gun was purchased two weeks ago in Naples. In Naples,
and you will die when you hear the name of
the man who bought it. Don't tell me.
Speaker 7 (25:06):
Yes, it was purchased by an American named Michael Waering.
Oh no, you are upset, and I thought you would
be delighted by the news. I guess there is no
pleasing some people.
Speaker 3 (25:27):
We all shudder and shake our heads sadly over the
catastrophes we hear about the floods, explosions, and other accidents
which take five or more lives. We wonder if it
could happen to us too well. There is one type
of catastrophe to which most of us are exposed many
times every day if we drive or ride on the highways.
It's the head on collision between two motor vehicles. It
(25:47):
means almost certain death or injury to the drivers and
passengers of those vehicles. Involved. Take a lesson from the
fatality figures and drivers though your life depends on it.
Speaker 2 (25:57):
It does.
Speaker 13 (26:04):
And bar back to the Adventures of the Falcon.
Speaker 2 (26:13):
All was wondering. You can say about cops the world over.
They all get the same look on their faces when
they pleased, And Lieutenant Balbo was wearing that look now
and no wonder here. I've been needling him about Mario
Gentile And it turns out the gun that killed Margherita
de la Voro belonged to me. A most revolting developments. Whore,
my friend, What have you got to say for your
sir very little? I wonder that gun looked familiar. Maria
(26:37):
must have stolen it from my hotel room. But I
was right about one thing. He's in Palermo, so it
would appear if there was one link we could find
in the chain. See how far your records go back
on Gentilli as.
Speaker 7 (26:49):
Gentily only till nineteen fifty when he came to Sicily
as an organizer for the communist part And you have
no idea what he did before then, holy theory, But
you know no, for sure, no one does.
Speaker 2 (27:00):
And that's where you're wrong, Lieutenant. I know one thing
now about our mystry man. What how to trap him?
And maybe Senor de Lavoro will be kind enough to
furnish the bit. Let's ask him anyway, it's senior wearing.
I do not like this idea. I do not like
(27:21):
it at all. Love the Lavoro. Either you have confidence
in me or you don't.
Speaker 6 (27:24):
But I don't know about him. But I don't.
Speaker 2 (27:25):
Well, that's not too important, Laura. You're just part of
the scenery. But I do not understand this business. It
seems to me that I'm what you call a target.
That's exactly what you are, don't you see? It's our
only chance of grabbing Mario by this time. He knows
he didn't kill you this afternoon. Well, if he's a
man of his word, you that's what we're figuring on.
But if he kills, not a chance. Balbo's get the
(27:47):
place around him. Not it would oblige me by raising
your hands the doctor. Listen, ah, Signor de Lavoro.
Speaker 10 (27:55):
I believe, yes, yes, you know you have taken the
name of Mario Gentila in vain.
Speaker 13 (27:59):
Naturally, I am displayed.
Speaker 10 (28:00):
I can explain it everything, But why explanations are so boring?
Speaker 6 (28:04):
Well, you're just gonna stand there wearing What else can
I do?
Speaker 10 (28:07):
He's right, Arena, you see, I am a man with
a purpose. I do not intend to be frustrated. All right,
the laboro, if you have anything to say, now is
the time. I Heaven's name, have mercy wearing. I pay
you where you are, seniors, square Gentila did.
Speaker 13 (28:22):
Not mean any harm.
Speaker 2 (28:23):
I did not think it would matter to it.
Speaker 13 (28:25):
It matters a great deal. Tell them the truth. I
never saw this man before in my life.
Speaker 8 (28:31):
One continue, he was not responsible for Margarita's murder.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
I was.
Speaker 13 (28:37):
I hired the assassin mac Cartoni.
Speaker 2 (28:42):
Mike, A right angel, all right, nothing wrong with me?
Just fainted with that bullet. It was a blank right by.
Speaker 13 (28:50):
I don't get it, and I mean to introduce myself
in your ina. I am sergente.
Speaker 6 (28:54):
I kill Breshet, Sergeant PRESHI yeah, it's.
Speaker 2 (28:57):
One of Lieutenant Barbo's boys. A beutiful job of acting
at killing. So what good is it with my luck?
Speaker 10 (29:04):
Signor I'll wager Russellini wasn't even listening.
Speaker 6 (29:23):
Well, Mike, maybe I'm thick, but I've got to admit
that I still don't get it.
Speaker 2 (29:26):
Oh it doesn't difficult, Laura, And it all comes down
to the fact that the Lavoro hired that man the
murder's wife.
Speaker 6 (29:31):
Yes, but how did Mario Genteely figure in this?
Speaker 13 (29:34):
He didn't.
Speaker 6 (29:35):
I don't understand.
Speaker 2 (29:36):
You See, when Mario escaped, it gave Delavarro the bright
idea the papers that played up Mario was a man
of mystery. Nobody knew anything about his background, so de
Lavaro spread the story that Mario came to Sicily for
the purpose of killing him. And Margarita, Yes, but she
knew the truth, sure, but no one had a chance
to ask her. She was murdered before either Balbo or
myself could see her.
Speaker 6 (29:55):
Wouldn't the shot we heard over the phone while de
Lavoro was talking to him.
Speaker 2 (29:59):
Yourself and inflicted, Oh you're getting all day. Oh, that's
why we had to date a trap. And when the
Lava mistook a Kelley Breshie for Mario Gentili, that questioned it.
Speaker 6 (30:10):
You know you're pretty clever.
Speaker 2 (30:11):
You ought to see me do card tricks sometimes I
love to. All right, I'll show you one of my favorites.
Oh let's pretend you're a woman and I'm a man,
and we're all alone on the marina facing the sea,
and then what happens, Well, that's what makes us such
a wonderful trick Angel, even I don't know how it's
going to turn out.
Speaker 13 (30:44):
The Case of the Gorgeous Greek.
Speaker 3 (30:51):
The Case of the Gorgeous Greek, that's the title of
next week's Adventure of the Falk and when Mike Wearing
learns that when Greece gets too hot, somebody is bond.
Speaker 2 (30:59):
To the devil.
Speaker 3 (31:05):
The Adventures of the Falcon are based on the famous
character created by Drexel Drake for Houston, transcribed by Bernard L. Schubert,
written by Eugene Wang, and directed by Richard Lewis. Les
Damon was starred as the Falcon with Joan Allison as Love.
This program came from New York. This is Fred Collins speaking.
Speaker 1 (31:41):
Welcome back. Another case where the Falcon solves the murder
but doesn't actually complete his mission. It's worth noting that
there's a lost episode of The Falcon from December thirty first,
nineteen fifty that logs indicate was called the Case of
the Rolling Stones. This could have been a repurposing of
(32:02):
that script, and of course the core plot could have
occurred in New York with different details. If this ever
comes into circulation, it might be one of those cases
where it'd be good to do a twice whole tale
episode just to hear all the changes from one version
of the story to the next. And we start out
with the case of the Broken Key Emitt Rotts. That
(32:24):
was a really good one. Oh I'm gonna miss the
Falcon definitely, Gray. We do have a few more weeks
of Less Damon, and after that we do have one
more actor who played the falcon in George Petrie. Though
that's going to be a weird change after more than
or nearly two years of Less Damon, so we've got
(32:47):
a little bit of it left, but it's going to
be weird not having the Falcon on Monday. Thankfully we're
still a few months down the road from that reality.
Then we have a couple of comments on YouTube or
regarding the episode, The Case of the King of Clubs
and Mechanics six' six's eighty two. Rites every single Time
(33:08):
Mike wearing says his name or someone else, does the
person hearing it, says you mean the falcon even In.
Europe why Would wearing use his real name to go.
Undercover it makes no, sense but apparently got lucky Because
keller And lily are the only two people throughout the
series who didn't recognize his, name while there was also
(33:31):
that one police officer back in that one. Episode BUT
i suspect that there were members of The president's cabinet
with lower name recognition than The falcon based on the
way that the series portrays. It most of the, Time
wearing's not technically going, undercover SO i guess he doesn't
(33:52):
have a lot of experience in. It it is kind
of an odd choice for intelligence to, make who have
someone work as an operative who is that. Famous it
would be like today one of those former military guys
who's on all the CABLE tv channels getting called up
(34:15):
to work in active. Service it does hamper your effectiveness
a little bit if you're that well, known and also
limits the ways that you can operate family as in
The shadow never told his real. Name the only person
was The. Lady she knew his real name and never
(34:36):
told anyone about, Him and that is a fair point
about The. SHADOW i guess the big difference between The
falcon and The shadow is that The shadow was just
a mystery. Man The falcon was trying to make a,
levy so he couldn't be too mysterious about his identity
(34:57):
or he wouldn't get. Business but thank, you thanks so.
