in terms of an original air date, today's episode is
a bit of an odd ball. We can't determine when
exactly it aired, other than it aired during George Petrie's
time as the Falcon, but we have some episodes that
were certain aired in nineteen fifty four, so we're playing
this in between the nineteen fifty three and nineteen fifty
(01:38):
four episodes. And the fan title is the Case of
the Disguised Murderer.

I they can do, might even have a fatal accident.
I don't callow you, and there's nothing very difficult about it.
But if I've got to put it in words of them,

Speaker 6 (08:10):
What boy?
Speaker 2 (08:10):
Said Michelsea Arms, who identified you from one of the
pictures of the man who ask him for DeMarco's room number.
I'll tell you to frame. How did you come here?
They can nail me for ivoring a fugitive and that
means my license.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
Okay, Mike, sorry I brought it.
Speaker 2 (08:26):
He said, this is a frame. I swear it. If
you're lying to me, I'll give you my word. Wouldn't
I be a captain let anybody see me going into
the Marco's room. That's what I was thinking. Sounded like
the killer went out of his way to be started.
And while I might buy that button they found in
the Marco's hand when he added to the other things
like the ground. It's too much. And you believe me,
(08:47):

Speaker 2 (10:51):
Am I going to ask? It's the thing Mike Marshall's wife.
Now better not if you want to say a month
king of swear, I'm telling you the truth. Yeah, I
get you to think of it. I saw a couple
of times last week at the worm Broom with God's Montaine.
Speaker 3 (11:06):
Who God's Montaine? I went to Carl the Latest and
Frank here.
Speaker 2 (11:10):
You're lying, okay, I'll tell you the car I mean
about Joyce in this Montaigne. Why would I want to

Speaker 2 (11:46):
Hello, Joyce, Alan, what are you doing here?
Speaker 3 (11:49):
I heard a sup that was smart with a cap
hanging around up. I couldn't help myself. I got worried.
Speaker 2 (11:54):
I'm gonna worry about people.
Speaker 3 (11:56):
Don't understand it.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
I killed a man up. I'll get it to you.
Speaker 3 (11:59):

You know there's nothing in the world that wouldn't do
for you money to stop talking so much.
Speaker 4 (12:06):
So it's just something I've got to ask you.
Speaker 3 (12:07):
What do you know a man named Montane Montage Charles Montagne?
Speaker 5 (12:12):
Now are you sure?
Speaker 3 (12:13):
What is this a third degree? I just said that
you've been seeing places with him. Well, that tells you
that as a liar that comes to.
Speaker 2 (12:18):
An awfully good solis to my brother Walvice who plays
each other too? Here the wor rumber room.
Speaker 3 (12:23):
Are you going to take that sneak's word against mine?

Speaker 2 (13:12):

Speaker 3 (13:15):
What would be your guest?
Speaker 2 (13:17):
Look, Corbett, you don't have to be a brain to
figure out what plays when you find half a homicide
vision here he's crane.
Speaker 3 (13:23):
I took him down in the morgue about five minutes ago.
Speaker 2 (13:25):
What happened? What didn't Someone got store and took the
old blunt instrument to him. Would have seen his face
take your word for it, said as well, all right,
how's you guys?
Speaker 3 (13:36):
How about getting back to work?
Speaker 2 (13:39):
What'd you want with Crane?
Speaker 3 (13:40):
Anyway?
Speaker 2 (13:41):
I just wanted to talk to him there about what
various things like why he was afraid of Frank Marshall,
Sargeant Marshall, I had no part in this deal.
Speaker 3 (13:49):
How would you know? Because I know the man for years.
Speaker 2 (13:51):
Well, he's changed. He's killed Crazy Mike, he killed Sam
DeMarco and Alan Crane. Oh he should he the Marco
wels on a beat? What about Crane while he was
playing with missus? Marshall? Who says?
Speaker 4 (14:01):
I do?
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Frank kept the diary and.
Speaker 3 (14:04):
Then you can spare a week for some light reading.
Speaker 2 (14:06):
I'll let you get it. I'll tell you you're barking
up the wrong tree. I can prove that Marshall had
nothing to do with it, and I'd like to see
you all right. What time did Crane dies? About a
half an hour ago, give or take a couple of minutes. Okay,
Marshall's at my place. What I keep your shirt and
I can prove it the frame through your colling my
apartment if Marshall killed clean a half hour ago. He
(14:28):
wouldn't be at my place. He'd taken at least an
hour and a quarter to get there from here.
Speaker 3 (14:33):
And you think I'd told you what I think of the.
Speaker 2 (14:35):
Frame, But I don't care what your from. Marshall couldn't
have done this. Wow, there's no answer. Well there goes
the ball game. Yes, we're jokes, Marshall Aunt. You know
(15:10):
one of those cops, not exactly my name is Mike Wearing.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
Oh you're the one they called a falcon frank Off and.
Speaker 2 (15:17):
Spoke of him. Can I come in? Who? Dad? Thanks?
Speaker 3 (15:24):
Hey, Alfie Anderson.
Speaker 2 (15:26):
Set for a little information. You know, Frank's in a
bad fact. The police thinks that he kills sand To Marco,
you don't have to tell me.
Speaker 3 (15:35):
They always room Frank. That's crazy temper tis a got him.
Speaker 2 (15:38):
In the trouble. You want to be careful when you
make sapments like that. Lady, that's the kind of thing
you can put a roper on your husband's neck. Oh
did I say something Wrongkangel. Let's stop trying to kid
each other. As I told you that Alan Crane was dead.
Speaker 3 (15:53):
Is that a fact?
Speaker 5 (15:55):
So we killed him?
Speaker 2 (15:57):
Well, naturally, that's not safe. When a man's head face
bashed in with a ball back, Who did it?
Speaker 4 (16:03):
Say?
Speaker 2 (16:03):
Why should it? Oh?
Speaker 3 (16:04):
I spose I might have had a good agreement over businesses.
Speaker 2 (16:07):
You sure it wasn't over you.
Speaker 3 (16:10):
Really, mister Warren, that's the funniest thing I've heard.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
He is, but praps, I think you were in love
with Crane.
Speaker 3 (16:16):
Well then I look all broken up over his death.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
Yeah, I can see I made a mistake, a bad one.
Speaker 3 (16:23):
And now if you don't mind, would you please go.
I've had a very advesting day and you've done nothing
to improve it. And I told you you'd be wasting
(16:44):
your time at that. Marshall dang Mike.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
When I lay my hands on her, No, no more
than you do. Now, Rank Marshall didn't kill Sam to
Marco and Alan Krane.
Speaker 3 (16:52):
Now with Marshall Denner, think why didn't get himself up?
Speaker 2 (16:54):
Because he knew you'd never believe him just in charging
you proceeding in a wrong fear out. Now, I suppose
Joyce Marshall wanted to get rid of her husband.
Speaker 3 (17:01):
Didn't Why didn't she shoot him and be done with it?
Speaker 2 (17:03):
Because she would have been the most obvious suspect. She
would have grabbed her five minutes after to kill him.
Oh it was much safer. The frame frank into the chair.
You just think she and Crane killed the Marco right, Well,
then Riddle knew this after they get off through Why
did she kill her boyfriend? The thing's crazy enough about
the grass, he's going to knock them off later the
Wait a minute, maybe Alan Crane was just a stooge.
(17:24):
Of course there was another man in the background. You
mean they were using Crane as a pet. Yeah, well,
how are we going to find out who the third
part of you?
Speaker 3 (17:32):
Well, there's two ways to do thatself, didn't I answer?
Speaker 2 (17:34):
Serb the easy one? Hit her up and ask her. Okay, Mike,
is where we get off?
Speaker 3 (17:54):
Okay, you can go back to the headquarters lowest, I
won't be needing the car for a round. Hello, al Mike,
meet off as the Bert Bert not so as you're
going off to he like a relief?
Speaker 2 (18:07):
What relief?
Speaker 3 (18:08):
You know you're not supposed to go off your tour
until you replay with our satis cases in the back.
So he told you that too much?
Speaker 2 (18:13):
Why what you wan? He tied about sixteen minutes ago
you're bothering a energy co You say, Frank Marshall's in there.
You didn't stop him when he had to say conduct
first time with the commissioner with a pony. How should
I know that? Why did you check with your preacher?
Speaker 3 (18:25):
Mark Carpet. We're wasting time. I'll talk to you later.
Speaker 2 (18:27):
Bert for your keys.
Speaker 4 (18:30):
You think maybe this lady, Yeah, no, you didn't.
Speaker 2 (18:42):
One of the other rooms. That's about the living room
if I remember, okay, and I'll give you the word,
open the door and the thing. Now, all right, Marshall,
get him up, wouldn't you know it? Nobody there, I
(19:04):
mean missus Marshall.
Speaker 3 (19:04):
And she don't count, he said, let me bye. I
better call a corner.
Speaker 5 (19:26):
In a moment, we'll return to the adventures of the Falcon.
But first, Ah, back to the adventures of the Falcon.
Speaker 2 (19:55):
And so death came for Joyce Marshall, Wow, Satin Corvitt
with the telephone. I went on a safari through the apartment.
It didn't take long.
Speaker 3 (20:04):
I had to make out Mike.
Speaker 2 (20:06):
No one on the house.
Speaker 3 (20:08):
Well, it was the back entrance of his place.
Speaker 2 (20:09):
What it is that's the kitchen. Well, then that explains
how much I got done, I guess, so I can
find out about her with strangles. That's a switch. Yeah,
I'll say one thing for your friend, Mike. He's a
versatile boy, and he killed the Marco would have done?
Speaker 3 (20:22):
I still say it is all right, all right, I'll even.
Speaker 2 (20:24):
Grant her that supposed Joyce here and Alan Crane murdered
the Marco. That didn't Marshall a better motives? He found
out what his wife and a boy friend were up to,
so he kills them both. Where does Charles Montaigne fitting
Charles Montaigne? Who's he? I found these letters from him,
the Joyce and his entity. Ooh, hot stuff, hotter and hot. Okay,
(20:46):
I'll arrange to him. Picked up the questioning, But why
don't you come clean? Mike?
Speaker 4 (20:51):
What do you mean?
Speaker 3 (20:52):
I got an idea? You know where I can find
Frank Marshall?
Speaker 2 (20:56):
Who do I do? All right?
Speaker 3 (20:58):
Charge, get me a home?
Speaker 2 (20:59):
Bok? How much harder we gone? That's that's right? Another,
But you said you wanted to kill it? How do
I know everything in a rib? You'll have to take
my word for it. That makes you think we'll find
(21:20):
my Carty here? It's the only logical place from behind us. Yeah,
I look for apartment for so oh see y y yeah,
but let me take it there. We'll go ahead, but
I warn you if your friends start back to you
cut and prepared that you waller.
Speaker 3 (21:43):
Yeah, I'll take him in. Did you get you're not waller?
Speaker 2 (21:49):
No, you've got a gun.
Speaker 4 (21:51):
I'm worn your mark.
Speaker 3 (21:54):
Okay, friend, you.
Speaker 1 (21:54):
Out for it?
Speaker 4 (21:55):
Huh?
Speaker 3 (21:58):
You all right? Mike?
Speaker 2 (21:59):
I think let's take a look at that friend, Marshall. Marshall,
you're wasteing your clime, Sergeant. I can see that.
Speaker 3 (22:07):
No, No, I mean for another reason.
Speaker 2 (22:10):
He's not Frank Marshall. If you hold that phony mustache,
you'll see he's Alan Crane. I have another copt.
Speaker 3 (22:28):
No thanks, I got to be at home that the
pair I guy.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
I wish you would have into something for me. Okay,
you'll expect to find Crane in that apartment instead of
Frank Marshall. Naturally it was Crane's brother's apartment. And then
you said you know where to find Frank Marshall. I
meant the mark. Well, I asked Marshall who could double
for him. He named Crane. Well, while I went around
looking for him, Marshall must have gone right to his
apartment and the two of them had it us. No,
(22:54):
that's like you. Yeah, especially when you told me the
Crane's face had been battered in. I thought it might
have been done for a purpose to keep the police
looking for a man who was already dead. That left
Crane in the clear. And then there was that cop
you had staked in front of Marshall's home, he claimed
before Marshall.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
Go in but not out.
Speaker 2 (23:12):
Yeah, naturally you were at the back way. Now you
tell me why a man who's wanted by the police
take the chance on flashing a phony pass when he
could have avoided trouble by going in the backway. So
he wanted us to think that Marshall was still alive.
And then Crane was the one who killed Joyce. Marshall
to them, yep, must have found out that he was
using him for a fall. Guy goes to share, you
(23:32):
never can count on the word that turn. Yeah, that
happen reminds me I don't want to get killed. I
better be at home when a woman's waiting still in
my love call it now were coincidentally, Mike, you ever
give any sap to stumbling down? What do you mean?
You know? You know get married, gehrmit knight to a
(23:52):
loving wife. Oh that's not for me. Ran from what
I saw tonight, That marriage stuff is murdered night Godon.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
Welcome back. On the positive side, Mike was right and
his friend was innocent. But what we do get overall
is just a typical tale of a man twisted by
a fan fatwe with wearing servings just to survey the damage. Now,
I do want to go ahead and let you know
that we are actually running out of episodes of the
(24:43):
Adventures of the Falcon. We have three episodes left from
nineteen fifty four and we will be playing those and
in four weeks we'll be bringing you Danger with Granger,
So be sure and plan on listening to that now.
In terms of listener comments and feedback, we had a
(25:05):
couple of comments on the audio quality. Betsy said maybe
she could have gotten through the episode with better headphones.
Dehlia said it was a bit difficult to hear, but
I got through it. I love the Falcon. Well, thanks
so much, and I'm sorry that we don't have better
(25:26):
quality episodes for this era of the program and appreciate
your patience. Dahlia also writes, I think my devices are
communicating with each other. Well, I turned on my tablet
to watch a little something while doing dishes, and the
first suggested for me movie on Prime is Devil's Cargo,
(25:48):
a Falcon movie. I had no idea that would not
surprise me. These devices can be quite sneaky, although of
course it's always possible that something else in your watch
history or history on Amazon made them suggest that particular film.
But thanks so much, Deelia, and then Rick just writes
(26:10):
best podcast ever. Well, thank you so much, Rick, and
that will do it for today. If you are enjoying
the podcast, please follow us using your favorite podcast software,
and be sure to rate and review the podcast wherever
you download it from. We will be back next Monday
with another adventure with the Falcon, but join us back
(26:33):
here tomorrow for the conclusion of the Willoughby murder case, where.
Speaker 2 (26:39):
You see sageant.
Speaker 7 (26:40):
In this case, we are dealing with a very prominent
man and we must prove sufficient motive if we are
to even fasten arrest.
Speaker 6 (26:49):
But how in the world are you going to do that, Inspector.
You can't prove a motive when you haven't got a
single piece of writing, not a solitary witness. No, if
it was money that's easy or a woman that's easier.
Speaker 3 (27:02):
A woman or Reggie. Sir Reginald did say something about
both cousins being in love with the same woman, Jerald's wife.
That hardly fits the case.
Speaker 7 (27:12):
As far as the murder of the colonel is concerned,
that it may who can tell there? If you please
peculiar situation. I am convinced that Gerald killed his uncle,
then kill Simmons. Yet, if you should ask me for
a motive, I can only give a suggestion. If you
say Gerald has alibi, he was in Chicago when first
(27:36):
murder was committed, and on playing flying to San Francisco
when second murder was committed, I can only say it
is for purpose of proving that said Gerald has motive
that we are here. It is to break said alibi
that we must bend on.
Speaker 1 (27:53):
I hope you'll be with us then in the meantime.
