going to ask him. Was it a wild animal house
scene or were they subdue? Were they exhausted like Abe
Lucas told me he was the News Tribune and News
Tribune dot com. You can see the Abe Lucas story.
He said he would just flat out exhausted in his
first game in eleven months. We'll talk to John after

(00:56):

John Boyle just off the well, not just off the plane.

(05:11):
I'm just off the plane. He got home last night
at probably like nine o'clock. He joined us in the
Beacon Plumbing hotline Seahawks dot Com beat writer.

Speaker 2 (05:19):
Hello, sir, Hey Greg, how you doing.

Speaker 1 (05:22):
I'm tired. I'm well, but you probably got home what
nine thirty? Uh?

Speaker 2 (05:28):
Yeah, I can't remember. I think I was actually in
the door at home about ten. Yeah, not too bad.

Speaker 1 (05:33):
Yeah, that's pretty good for a road game.

Speaker 2 (05:36):
Yeah. What was the shortest trip we got?

Speaker 1 (05:38):
Exactly the only one that's two hours or less? What
what was the plane ride back? Was it really romper
room in the animal house or was it business like?
Or were they exhausted?

Speaker 2 (05:50):
I think, you know, yeah, I think it's a couple
of things, Like I get asked out of a lot, like, oh,
what's I mean? First things first? Like I'm not sitting
amongst the players, so I don't know anything's going on
all them, but I think in general there's sort of
a misperception overall about like how long wins and losses
effect players. Like, yes, they don't want to lose, and
they're happy and they win to like unless it's the

(06:12):
season ending loss or a playoff win or playoff clinching win,
like they know that they got to pretty quickly turn
the page and they're just like okay, you know. So, yeah,
they're happier on the plane. Guys are smiling, and it's
a better mood than if they lost, but it's not
some big party on the way home. And the third
part of that you referenced like they're just tired. I mean,
that's an exhausting game every time they go out there.

(06:32):
So I think guys just kind of want to chill
and relax a little bit.

Speaker 1 (06:36):
You asked Mike mcgowery. No, you asked Gino Smith. It
was yesterday in the press conference about Ryan Greb's offensive
coordinator on Thursday talking about when I asked Greb, what's
the best quality Smith has? And he said resilience? What
did you see an did he show it?

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (06:53):
I was just going to say, boy, did he show it,
and do you think now they're at the point that
the Seahawks teammates but there's no doubt when he gets
in the huddle because he's done it so many times.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
Yeah, I mean, I think that's been the case for
a while now. I mean, you know, maybe maybe his
first season starting, guys didn't know, but now that he's
you know, last year at five win games game when
he drives, so I think there's a sense of you know,
he and this offense just tend to function best in
those late game situations. So yeah, I mean that that
third quarter interception could have been a real backbreaker, but
you know, the defense of this job held him to

(07:26):
feel and then Gino Sith comes right back with that
touchdown drive and you know, again we've seen that from
him really all season, where you know, it hasn't been
a flawless season for him, and a lot of that's
not his fault. I mean, he's had protection issues. He
hasn't had much of a wrong game, so a ton's
been on his shoulders and with that has come from turnovers.
But he always seems to bounce back and just really

(07:47):
you know, get bare down when the matters most.

Speaker 3 (07:49):
John in previous seasons, these type of games weren't really
talked about as a big game. It was just another opportunity.
And then with Mike McDonald and company, they mentioned how
important and how big this game was. Did you get
a phil for that going into it? And then I'm
assuming afterwards you agreed that Wow, Yeah, they put it
all on the on the field on Sunday against the Niners.

Speaker 2 (08:11):
Yeah. I mean, I think you know, there's always that
danger of a trap if you and this was kind
of Pete Carroll's thing of why he didn't like to
talk that way, is okay if you say this is
a huge Muslim game and then you don't win, Like,
are you just giving up for these last six to
seven games? So you know, I think they you know,
they just understood more anything. They're like coming out of
the buy they just need to play better football. And

(08:31):
that happened to be that this week's opponent was a
division opponent and the team you hadn't beaten a long time.
So that certainly coming out of it with a win,
you sensed that for players like they didn't really matter
because you know, all these guys other than I think
Tyler Lockett and one on that team had beaten the
forty nine ers, at least as a member of the Seahawks,
so that was a that was an important game for
them to get out there. I might be wrong on that.

(08:52):
There's probably a couple of guys and nothing that, but
not many because they haven't beat them since twenty twenty one.
So yeah, I mean, first and foremost. That really just
shifts the perception of their scene right now. Instead of being,
you know, four and six in a couple of games out,
you're five and five and playing for a shot at
the entire for first place next week. He knows Arizona.

Speaker 1 (09:10):
All right, John, break some news for us and make
Seahawk fans happy they re signed. They gave a new
contract to Ernest Jones on the plane ride home last night, right.

Speaker 2 (09:20):
You know if they did that again. That happened not
in my feet in the back of the plane. But boy,
sure he sure played like a player of these first
three games of the sea, like someone they do want
to keep around. I mean, he said in his first
price commerce he'd love to It's been a wild, you
know a few months for him, and he'd love to
settle down somewhere and find a permanent spot. And I boy,
I just I mean, he's he looks so good. And

(09:42):
I'm not saying he's the only reason the defensive looks better,
but I feel like he's been a big part of
the improvement movie scene last couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (09:49):
What has he done as you watch it? I made
the comment yesterday anim my story for the News treving
this morning that when he when Ernest Jones at middle
linebacker hits guys, they fall immediately straight down or backwards.
There aren't any extra two or three yard games. And
he's making the tackles nearer the line of scrimmage than
Dodson and Baker were. What have you noticed in Earnest
Jones these three games?

Speaker 2 (10:11):
Yeah, I mean that's kind of all the things you
want from a linebacker. He seems to see it really well,
like you just see him in the right place over
and over again. And then, as you mentioned, the physicality
and is funny because you look at him, you know,
out of pat he doesn't look it's not a big
you know, he doesn't have those big Bobby Wagner like
eighty inch biceps. I might be exaggerated slightly, but I
mean some guys just look like, Okay, there's a big,

(10:33):
burly middle linebacker and he's not that, but man, he
brings that physicality. And I think Kyrie Snipe does that too.
I think I would guess that was a big reason
they like to get him the lineup. It's like, both
those guys just are bringing the physical presence to that
position that I think when you're talking about getting better
against the run, they really need it. So yeah, I mean,
I'm not gonna pretend I'm a linebacker expert, but I

(10:54):
was talking on the plane with one who is in
that big wineman after the game, and I mean we're
just chatting in the back of planning. He's really been
impressed with what he's seeing out of him, So I'll
take Wyman's work for he knows that.

Speaker 1 (11:06):
That's right. The reason where I asked they're talking about
the contract, of course, is that Ernest Jones's rookie deal
that the Rams signed him to and the Titans inherited
and the Seahawks inherited in the two trades in three months.
That deal expires at the end of this season, and
you can bet they would not have traded for him
if they had already not entertained or talked to him
about resigning after the season.

Speaker 3 (11:25):
I'm curious, John, because when I when they released there Dotson,
I'm thinking, Oh, you're doing this right before you play
the Niners. This is going to be a challenge because
the Seahawks have strove struggled against the Niners in their
run scheme and what they want to do. Did you
foresee that they would overcome it and then go out
there and basically have a dominating performance by stuffing the
run and making Rock Purdy basically ineffective in the passing

(11:48):
game as well, except for Wan Jinnings or Jwanjings who
decided to become the incredible hooking a few plays.

Speaker 2 (11:54):
Yeah, he was really good. Yeah, I mean, look, I was,
you know, I think I was surprised as anyone in
that Roustin move came down at you know, told me
going the week that they were going to make a
change and start tyres Knight. That might not have stund
me because you know, Mike mcnal did say they're going
to look at everything, but that that was you know,
included waving Tyrel dots, and I did not expect that.
I do think the team, you know, I think there's
this outside perception of, oh, they waived him and Connor

(12:17):
Williams retires abruptly, and there's all this turmoil and it's
gonna affect the team negatively. I got the sense of
just being around the team as the week went on,
that you know, they were kind of being galvanized by
all this of like, Okay, this is just a little
more adversity and you know those guys aren't here, but
we're going to come together and get the job done.
So the fact that they responded well and play well
did not surprise me at all. I mean, but did

(12:39):
I see that Molden the forty nine is under twenty points?
Maybe not because that offense has been so good against
the seahauction past years. But I definitely based largely off
what we saw against the Rams. I think that improvements.
It felt real at the time, it didn't just seem
like a mirage, and they backed that up with this game.
So I do think the defense has really found some
of these last couple of weeks.

Speaker 1 (12:57):
All right, John, I'm going to be testing your team
employee had here. Do you do you think Geno Smith's
a long term, longer term answer? And he gets an
extension before next year, a couple of years, maybe MAC
maybe three.

Speaker 2 (13:11):
I mean, I don't want to predict business stuff because
that's just not really my you know, I can't really
get into that. But do I think he's right now
deserving of, you know, being a starter and can you
know this way, I don't see a better path to
them being a winning team short term, Like, yeah, do
you still want to maybe look at that position and

(13:32):
figure out, you know, if there's a rookie you like
or whatever and look to the future. Absolutely, But doing
that without Geno Smith, I don't know, Like, I think
they're a lot better team with Gino Smith. He's been
you know, I again, he's not been perfect this year,
but he's the biggest reason. You know, he's the MVP
of the team right now. He's the reason they're in
the hunt. So yeah, you know, it's not my money,
it's not my decision, but I certainly see him as

(13:54):
someone who could help this team going forward.

Speaker 1 (13:56):
That was for the two five three.

Speaker 3 (13:57):
That's why if it was your money, what would you
do if it was your team and you were running things,
what would you do?

Speaker 1 (14:01):
John? You got the GM had Now.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
I mean if you're gonna give me that kind of money,
I might just go retire and live. I don't, look,
I don't know, like this is not you know, I
can't really speak to what they're thinking.

Speaker 1 (14:15):
But this, if we put the GM head on and.

Speaker 2 (14:25):
If you can keep away, figure out a way to
keep him around at whatever you deem is a reasonable price,
and you know that works for both parties, and heck
yeah I do it. And if everyone knows the way
the Shaalary cap works, like extending him actually helps your
cap next year as well, you can get that number
down with the sinning bust and all that. So again,
I have no idea what's going to happen. I'm not
going to try to predict what they're thinking. You know,

(14:46):
maybe they've got other plans, maybe they don't, But I
just think Geno Smith and and also I'm basic on
this on like the way the coaches talk about him
like this is a new coaching staff. It didn't come
in with any preconceived notions of him. They were, you know,
invested in him, had time. But you hear Ryan Grubb
and Mike all talk about him like they really like
Geo Smith and what he brings, what did.

Speaker 1 (15:06):
The Connor Williams sudden retirement? How was that handle do
you think or received? I think in the whole building
in the locker room from where you said anyway, your sense.

Speaker 2 (15:16):
I think it's just it's kind of like it was
handled e sternly, like surprise. I don't think I didn't
get the sense anyone saw that coming. And you know,
Michael Thal kind of joked is still with that and
Fridays like, well, yeah, I don't come into any week
expecting players to retire in the middle of the season.
You were there, Greg, Yeah, we were having this conversation
in the locker room, like none of us could think
of a of an example of a guy that age

(15:38):
just starter mid season doing that. So yeah, nobody expected it,
and I'm sure players were, you know, not sure how
to feel. Aboud. I think ultimately, when you know you
hear its personal reasons and the guy has his reasons,
you want the best for him. And I'm sure that's
where most players are sitting right now. But it did
create a challenge, and I did really get the sense
like guys rallied around a lot, like it was a

(15:59):
tough situation. Who got put in in August where he
thinks he's a starter. He's you know, Oka Mini camps
all that he's a starter, and then oh, they just
go sign this veteran and takes your job. So you know,
that's tough. That's through alb NFL and OLU knows that
as well as anybody. But I think there was a
sense Okay, now this change happened. We weren't expecting it,

(16:19):
but let's rally around this guy and who played really
well in that game. So I think they feel good
about that position despite losing the starter unexpectedly.

Speaker 1 (16:28):
Pops. Thank you go back to your children right now.
But yeah, thanks for joining us. Yeah, they should be
maybe on a playground at recess right now. Thanks for
joining us. We'll see at the yard on Wednesday. Thanks John,
Thanks for having us. John Boyle Seahawks dot Com on
the Beacon Plumbing Hotline. Yeah, I got. I struck up

(16:49):
a rapport with Connor Williams, such as it was only
for a couple of months. He just got married in April.
He's only been married for seven months. His wife Aubrey,
and they moved out here their native Texans and he's
native Texan and went to the University of Texas and
this was a new area for him. He remember was
nine months from reconstructive knee surgery. And all the best

(17:12):
to him. Twenty seven year old young man just got married.
I hope everything's okay and going well and outside of
football for him enough that he can walk away. He's
made twenty plus million dollars and I hope he makes
the right decision for him, Good for him, for Connor Williams.
And now it's Old with Timmy's turn at center. And
we mentioned his play yesterday, the push on third down

(17:32):
and then the snap over Gino Smith's head. But by
and large Old with Timmy held his own against the
forty nine Ers defensive front, as most of the offensive
line did, especially late on that final drive. Coming up.
Your chance to be a part of the show four
nine four five one on the Telemorde text line, A
couple of you, more than a couple, actually a lot
of you writing in about what you think of the Seahawks.
Now they are what they are, five and five, five

(17:55):
hundred team, but yet they're only one game out of
first place in the NFC West eleven thirty five factor
fift A chance to win one thousand dollars of the
Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital of the Northwest, and
Ian Fornessill joined us at eleven forty five, leading his
show from twelve to three. All that on a Frostburg
corse like Choose Chill Monday, taking you up to Texans
Cowboys five to fifteen Monday Night Football Tonight on ninety
three point three KJRFMO. Hi, welcome back on a Frostbury

(18:23):
course like Choose Chill Monday, counting you down to Monday
Night Football here on ninety three point three KJRFM The
Night five point fifteen Texans at Cowboys. You know the
music means it's time to be part of the show
and tell them we're new. Text line four nine four
five one. When's game time? It's total time with Factor
fiction coming up at eleven thirty five.

Speaker 3 (18:40):
From the four to two five. I'm not one hundred
percent disagreeing with how big of a win it was
for the Seahawks. It was definitely a big win, and
they took advantage of an injured Niners team, which is
what you have to do.

Speaker 1 (18:51):
Hopefully they go on a run and surprise people. That
was a response to the Texter saying the same text
are saying, really the big win in recent years? And
I said, well, can you name another one? I'm open
to suggestions. Can you name the middling seasons the Seahawks
have had the last few years? Can you name a
bigger win to that one? I didn't spend a ton

(19:13):
of time on it, but I don't think I can
have one that comes right to mind.

Speaker 3 (19:17):
From the two olve' six great football weekend, Hawks win,
Husky's winning, the Kugs went, wait, the Kugs cooged it
even better. Yeah, it's all good, one hundred percent understand that.
From the four two five, My guys, it's Joel here.
We can celebrate the seahawks big win by getting rid
of the poto? Question mark two? Greg, can army be
notre dame? Can we celebrate by getting rid of the poto?

Speaker 1 (19:38):
Three? Yes?

Speaker 3 (19:38):
And we give out another grill and we celebrate by
getting rid of the poto. So it sounds like if
we just get rid of the poto, I think Joel's
gonna be just fine.

Speaker 1 (19:46):
What do you think I fake? So Joel makes it
pretty obvious from.

Speaker 3 (19:50):
Our guy two to oh six, Marcus going to sound contradicting,
But I didn't think the Seahawks were a playoff team
before Sunday, and that doesn't change my mind. Thought they
were going eight nine, and now I think they're going
ninety eight, and that does give you a very slim
chance at the postseason as long as the.

Speaker 1 (20:06):
Forty nine ers are struggling. Nine and eight could do
it in the division. And they're struggling and they don't
have everybody together, and they looked like a whole different
team on defense yesterday. I mean I looked down and
I was like, who are these guys right? And when
Posta went out, it was like, this team's not even
close to it. He used to be the two five
to three Do we need milk? It sounds like the

(20:27):
two five three was tended Texas wife. I think, so
we aired you out on the thing. I love it.
And then he followed it up with a laughing emoji
to do we need milk? That happens you get excited.
That's pretty funny.

Speaker 2 (20:41):
I like that.

Speaker 3 (20:42):
This is from Michael Wha, the two five to three.
Of course, you know what time it is when the
music starts, it's diddy time. Oh boy, I don't know.
From the two O six thirty five to thirty one
and you score a touchdown with twenty one second, right.

Speaker 1 (20:53):
Tell me about this. I was totally ignorant. I wasn't
watching the game. I was a Raiders beat reunion on
Saturday night and Bert Busy had a great time. By
the way, but tell us you got to go for
two there? Thirty five thirty one, they score a touchdown
twenty one seconds Let who did guess? New Mexico went

(21:13):
up by two and then kicked the extra point. Just
a tough loss for the Koops.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Man.

Speaker 3 (21:17):
I don't have much to say. I don't even want
to really talk about it because did they have a
chance to win after that?

Speaker 1 (21:22):
Yeah? How close did they come to the field goal
that would have tied it? Greg? I want to move on.
We have we have factor kitchen to get to that
tough Los. How close were they? Jesson was on the
phone when I walked out.

Speaker 3 (21:35):
I was gonna ask, you know reason, I don't blame Jess.
We're gonna I think we're gonna deflect and move on.
So I'm doing my best at it. And here's another
text from the four to five. I would say the
winn a Detroit early last season was a bigger win
but I'll take this victory.

Speaker 1 (21:54):
Yeah, I'm gary two six. Wow. Thanks for sharing the
audio from the Argonauts quarterback the Carbuckle very impacting a
reminder about being a parent. Yeah it is, and I'm
glad as a parent you heard that and took that
out of it. I don't want to see no more
comeback victories. Just two five three says. I want to
see him up by twenty one or twenty eight going

(22:15):
to the fourth quarter. I bet you do. Yeah, dude,
wouldn't Jeter Smith, Mike Donald would appreciate it. Maybe a
team on their schedule, they're gonna be up by twenty
eight on in the fourth quarter. They're not playing the Jaguars. Nope,
they're not playing tennessas state even the Jets. They're going
to have trouble with the Jets. They are. I'm not
hearing his Greg You're over here there sucking. Now you

(22:38):
could read between the lines there. I can't. I'm blind.
I'm just saying this is not a one win in
San Francisco. Even if it was in San Francisco, doesn't
make the Seahawks a great team. Oh yeah, let's be honest.
We agree on that. They're not even a playoff contender
unless the division keeps the playing back to them, and
if they beat the Cardinals, the division will be playing

(22:58):
back to them even if the Rams and the forty
nine Ers win next week. Up the top of myham
trying to remember, Rams got the Eagles at home and
the forty nine ers are at Green Bay. Those are
two potential losses by the Rams and the forty nine Ers.
As long as the Division keys plan back to them,
they're in contention. But does that make them a playoff
quality team? That's two different questions to me.

Speaker 3 (23:18):
Well, Greg, let's give some folks a chance for a
thousand dollars factor fiction brought Chance.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
Of the Week brought to you by the Emerald Queen Casino,
the betting Capitoe. Where's that to go? Glad you're with us?

Speaker 4 (23:28):
It's your shot at our weekly thousand bucks and the
ten thousand dollars grand prize. It's fact door fiction brought
to you by the Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital
of the Northwest. Make the beautiful New week UC Sports
Bookie your home all football season long.

Speaker 1 (23:45):
And to the door fiction is.

Speaker 3 (23:52):
Because obviously you go for two, you right, It's game over?
But thirty seconds left. Hell, Mary don't matter. So Greg,
where are you going today? College NFL?

Speaker 1 (24:00):
What you got from me? Then back to campus? Oh Okay,
Army and Notre Dame er Yankee Stadium Saturday night, and
that we'll get to that. I'm not gonna do that today.
We'll get to that, say, eighteenth ranked Army one of
three unbeatens. We'll get to that against sixth rank Notre Dame.
If Army can win that game. That's what the College

(24:20):
Football Playoff Committee is looking at to say. Okay, actually
we consider them as a non power for to get
in the plass. But that's that's for another day. We'll
do that later on this week. The biggest game of
the college football weekend is in Columbus, Ohio win the
Horseshoe this weekend. Number two Ohio State undefeated, Number five Indiana,
nine am Saturday at the Horseshoe. Indiana has has been

(24:44):
boat racing teams until the last couple of weeks. Thirty
one to seventeen over the Huskies. Then it's twenty to
fifteen game against a not very good Michigan team at home.
That was our last game and then they had a
buy Ohio State's just cruising after that one point Oregon.
One of the best college football games I've ever watched
in person, done at Autsin Stadium last month. Since then,

(25:05):
they're just beating teams and rolling. On the Penn State
they dominated but won by seven, but pretty much dominated
the game Northwestern the other day whatever in Wrigley Field,
thirty one to seven. Ohio State's like a pro team
in the college uniforms. The last I checked, the spot
was eleven and a half. I think that's still the

(25:26):
money the spread line on this one. I got y'all
double check Ohio State minus eleven and a half over Indiana.
Take that to Z Bank. Give me Ohio State way
more than eleven and a half minus twelve, but I'll
give you the twelve minus twelve. I'll still say Ohio State.

(25:46):
I think they'll win by three touchdowns. Wow, Okay, I
know Kurt Signette's got Indiana rolling. They haven't played Ohio State.
Ohio State the winner of this game Ohio State. Indiana
is likely playing Oregon in the Big Ten title game,
and Ohio State wants them some Oregon again. Hio State
and Oregon i'd likely to both make the playoff. If
Ohio State wins this game, and I think they won

(26:08):
it by at least two touchdowns, gimme Ohio State minus
the twelve over Indiana. If you agree, text fact to
four nine four y five one. If you disagree, tech
fiction to four nine four by one, you have twelve minutes,
after which time your next chance will be two thirty
five PM with Ian Fernesse or three thirty five with
Dave Softy Mahler and Dick Fane from the Emerald Queen Casino.
They're gonna be broadcasting my from heading into Monday Night

(26:30):
Football to Night Texas and Cowboy five to fifteen again,
Ohio State minus twelve, my home state Buckeye's over unbeaten Indiana.
If you're gree text fact to four nine four to
five one. If you disagree, text fiction the four nine
four y five one, you get about eleven minutes. We
did not have a good week in factor fiction. The
first place team at the station went one and four.

(26:50):
Andrews just back from his honeymoon vacation and marriage and
Argentina was compiling to see if we're still in first.

Speaker 3 (26:57):
Place for a second time. Second with Chuck him. But
that's nothing to be proud of.

Speaker 1 (27:03):
I mean, well, when your flast place team is like
dead dead Last actually hasn't been updated yet, so he
might be he was updating it. So nonetheless, we have
a chance. Ohio State minus twelve over Indiana. I think
they're gonna win by even more than that fourteen sixteen
three touchdowns perhaps. If agree, text back to four nine
four or five one. If you disagree, text fiction the
four nine four or five to one, and Farnessa's out

(27:25):
there to say hi to us before we show twelve
to three and is up next on ninety three point
three KJRFM, Welcome back, Greg Bell with the News Tribune.

(27:49):
Christopher k with you on ninety three point three KJRFM.
A frost brewed course like Chill Choo, Choose Chill Monday,
leading you to Texans Cowboys at five point fifteen. If
you miss did factor fiction, you got a couple of
minutes still Ohio State minus twelve over Indiana. I think
Ohias going by twenty your Greek tech factor four nine
four five. If you dis is it now, what is

(28:09):
it against? Well twelve High State minus twelve.

Speaker 5 (28:12):
Ye eleven here I see minus eleven?

Speaker 1 (28:13):
Yeah, well, Chris just said it was twelve. I take
twenty buck. Guys are gonna roll.

Speaker 5 (28:19):
Yeah, they're gonna it's they're gonna they're gonna wipe them.

Speaker 1 (28:22):
This is the voice of Ian Forness, who sounds like
something like between berry white and yeah a.

Speaker 5 (28:27):
Little that that time of the year, right that time
of the year, you get a little you get a little,
little little stuff going on. But how was how was
Santa Clara first first uh fun locker room in four years?

Speaker 1 (28:39):
I said, that was the loudest post game music I've
heard in maybe since the leason.

Speaker 5 (28:44):
They bring out the victory cigars.

Speaker 1 (28:46):
No, okay, good, keep bringing that up. Do you like that?
Chris spot On, man, keep fringing that upgas whatever, let's
get that cigar out. I was I brought up in
the text line, can you name they've had middling seasons,
Let's be honest, the last few years. Can you name
a bigger win recent years? I said, you maybe go
back to twenty sixteen at New England, that Sunday night

(29:08):
game right after the Super Bowl. Wow, that to me
was the That's when I thought they least expected to
win on the road, and they did. And that was
a game too. Maybe Detroit week two.

Speaker 5 (29:19):
I was gonna say Detroit last year week too, that
that New England game jumps out because I think we
felt like they were still one of the elite teams,
but you had to go there and prove it. Cam
knocks the ball away from Gronk and the end zone
at the end, right, But man, my mind's foggy. But yeah,

(29:41):
because it feels like over the years there's been a
few of those. But here's a problem. Does it translate
into something the next week?

Speaker 2 (29:48):
Right?

Speaker 1 (29:49):
This is a team that could easily face plant next.

Speaker 5 (29:51):
Week because I thought last year that game in Detroit
was that game they showed something that was backup.

Speaker 1 (29:58):
Tackles, Aiden Hutchinson, Gino Smith goes to overtime thirty.

Speaker 5 (30:04):
And if you go back, it was, you know, Detroit,
and I think people tend to like Detroit went to
Kansas City and won on Thursday night when they were
the sacrificial play the Super Bowl champion Lambs, and they
went there and beat them. And that place last year
was I've never been in a road atmosphere covering a
game that was like that. And so it was for

(30:25):
Seattle to come out of that thing with a win.
That was right up there, but then it was Week two,
so it was a little less signal. I mean, yesterday
was a season saver. You know, it's a season saver.
It's not overstated, not at all, not at all.

Speaker 1 (30:36):
It was it saved the season.

Speaker 5 (30:37):
If you want to be a playoff team, you had
to win yesterday. Couldn't go zero and three in division,
you couldn't be fall two games back.

Speaker 1 (30:46):
And I thought, what it did.

Speaker 5 (30:48):
It showed that this team, It's what I thought all along,
Greg and Chris, is that not an eight team last season.
You would have thought they would have taken a step
forward this year. They didn't hire Mike McDonald to take
a step back. That was not what they're playing.

Speaker 1 (31:03):
They weren't starting over. They still have a quarterback, and they've.

Speaker 5 (31:06):
Got core guys like, yeah, this is not Jacksonville, this
is not Carolina, this is not those teams.

Speaker 1 (31:12):
And and so for them, yesterday was validation.

Speaker 5 (31:17):
And I'll tell you I don't want to hear any
nonsense about I don't care if Bosa was playing or not,
because you know what Detroit is winning without Aidon Hutchinson, right,
They're winning without Aiden Hutchinson.

Speaker 1 (31:27):
That forty nine ers defense was almost unrecognizable in middle
of the second half. But they've been kind of up
and down all year. You know, I was not there.

Speaker 5 (31:34):
I know that I got myself a fantasy team and
I had to terf those guys because honestly they're not
as good.

Speaker 1 (31:40):
But I know that's like the big excuse in the
Bay Area.

Speaker 5 (31:42):
Oh well, so as Bosa went out games, Well yeah,
right right. You know what, how much better would Seattle's
defense be if Channa was playing, or they didn't have
to do what they've done at the linebacker position, or
if they didn't play the whole season.

Speaker 1 (31:54):
With guys John Boyle at eleven o'clock they re signed,
or they give an extension Jones Jet because that needs
to happen to yesterday tomorrow, Gino Smith, can we stop
that he is the best option they have unless they're
going to go trade or sign somebody, no one for
seas money. Then no one sees him spending, not unless
you want to take a step back. I don't know

(32:14):
why the hate for Genos. I really don't. He's the solution,
not the problem, saying he needed yesterday. Sure, the league
in interceptions, yeah, but he still has ten comebacks and three.

Speaker 5 (32:25):
Two and a half season. No, absolutely, no, it was
it's yesterday. Could be a turning point. We'll see, but
then you got to go turn around and do it
this week against.

Speaker 1 (32:33):
It needed that for the contract next year.

Speaker 5 (32:36):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (32:36):
Yeah, he couldn't go in and like you said, you
can't go in and ask for an extension oh and
six against the forty nine.

Speaker 5 (32:41):
No, I think and I think you mentioned it was
like an It might have been an eight mill and drive.
It was all said and done. It's crazy, huh you did.

Speaker 1 (32:48):
We'll have him.

Speaker 5 (32:49):
He's gonna join us arc or football one o'clock. We'll
break down the final drive and talk about the defense
and how they look different with you know, a couple
with a couple of new cats in the middle, as
Chris would say, right.

Speaker 1 (33:00):
Huh impressive, man, damn right.

Speaker 5 (33:03):
It was Monday, just sick or not, man, I can
still bring it.

Speaker 1 (33:07):
There you go.

Speaker 5 (33:08):
And then uh, then Mike'sando at two o'clock and we
welcome back Andrews today.

Speaker 1 (33:12):
Yes, back from Argentina and Chile and his wedding. Yeah,
he's got a band on.

Speaker 5 (33:17):
He is a rock and roll baby. Yeah, ready, rock
and roll good times. We had a factor of fiction.
I didn't look and see how we did. Here's thirty five.

Speaker 1 (33:25):
We all we went one and four, so we came
back to two weeks for us. So yeah, right, we're
like the NFC West. We came back to you. Oh
oh yeah you did. Okay, Hey, you don't have to Yeah,
move on, Mayor Colly, there's Anders, look at him. Back
from Chile, back from Argentina.

Speaker 5 (33:42):
They have the other knuckleheads have a four and all week.
What was the u c l A U DUB final score?
Thirty one nineteen?

Speaker 1 (33:49):
Uh action or fiction? That's a fiction?

Speaker 2 (33:51):
Okay?

Speaker 1 (33:52):
So they have three in one week?

Speaker 5 (33:53):
Okay, two and two week Pittsburgh plus three versus Baltimore
all they won by two. That's right, Okay, I feel
better now, good good, Yeah, big show coming up.

Speaker 1 (34:04):
Here we go. That'll be I forness Anderson Hurst, Jessamond
McIntyre from twelve to three as they are every weekday,
and then don't forget Monday footballs. Tonight Dave Softy Mow
and Dick Fine from the Amieral Queen Cassini will take
