snaps in his first game in eleven months last week

yesterday's practice, So my eye is going to be on

And the NBA is changing the All Star Game.
Speaker 1 (05:13):
The format is now going to be four teams playing
around robin. Three of them will be eight man teams
of all stars around the league, and then the fourth
team is going to be the winner of the Rookie
versus second year player Futures Game. There will be the
day before the actual All Star Game, so they're changing
up this year in the NBA after last season's farce of.
Speaker 2 (05:34):
An All Star Game.
Speaker 1 (05:37):
On Sunday, the Arizona Cardinals six and four come to
Lumen Field to play the five and five Seahawks four
basically first place including tie breakers and depending on how
the Rams, Eagles, Packers forty nine ers do on Sunday
and here to talk about the Arizona Cardinals side of
this game, Tyler Drake from Arizona Sports Radio joined us
on the Beacon Plumbing Hotline.
Speaker 2 (05:57):
Hello sir, thanks for joining us.
Speaker 4 (05:59):
Hey, thanks having me on.
Speaker 2 (06:00):
You're welcome.
Speaker 1 (06:03):
We talked about the last segment how under Jonathan Gannon
Tyler the Cardinals play offense differently. Everyone's talking about yann
in a defensive mind, but Kyler Murray is a different
quarterback than he was a couple of years ago. The
offense does not play shotgun as much as they did.
They were number one and number two in the league,
as you know a few years ago. Now they're sixteenth
in shotgun usage.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
How have you noticed Kyler Murray.
Speaker 1 (06:25):
And the offense change up close watching all the Cardinals
games the last couple years.
Speaker 5 (06:30):
Well, I think that's the big one that you just mentioned.
But also I think they've just really taken the let's
not have him play Superman ball anymore and really focus
on a run heavy first offense that can really compliment
what he does with the ball in his hands, really
through the air and on the ground. I think that's
the biggest thing right away. When this new regime came in,
they wanted to change his footwork as simple as putting
(06:52):
one foot in front of the other coming off, coming
out of the center. But yeah, It's been a really
interesting change. As that Kyler told us this week he
absolutely loved. He said right away he felt like he
was gonna love this offense when he first sat down
with Through Petsing, the offensive coordator, to really dive into
the nuts and bolts and understand what he needed to
change about his game. And I think that's another thing
(07:13):
is Kyler was open to these changes. He knew that
what he was doing I think wasn't sustainable. He can't
be the guy that wins these that had where he
has to put the team on his back to win
these games. Instead he go out there and have a
game like he did against the Bears where he only
had a.
Speaker 4 (07:27):
One hundred and something yards but was very efficient in that.
Speaker 5 (07:30):
So there's different ways definitely to this offense now, and
Kyler Murray is definitely a benefactor for it and is
really liking the makeup and understanding of just the whole
system in general.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
Tyler, how much do you think Kyler Murray's new contract
he signed a couple of years ago has a lot
to do with that buy in.
Speaker 2 (07:46):
He doesn't have to go now prove.
Speaker 1 (07:48):
Himself with the two hundred plus million dollar deal he's
signed through twenty twenty eight. Do you think that I
don't want to use the word content, but you think
that made him more willing to do what the new
regime wanted him to do.
Speaker 5 (08:00):
I think that's part of it, you know, obviously having
that stability there, but I also think just what the
new regime brought to the table, it was very much
more about accountability and winning as a team more so
about hey, let's go out there and have you win
as football games. I think that is it's a little
bit of a mixture of everything. I really do think
having that stability on the contract side of things helps,
(08:20):
But I do think having the right mix of people
in the front office and coaching staff, plus in the
locker room. That's one thing you've talked about a lot, too,
is how he's got like minded guys in the locker room.
And I think you're starting to see more of his
leadership qualities kind of become more visible and become more
on the surface now as opposed to a lot of
people wanting to see that more in previous years.
Speaker 1 (08:40):
This is the voice of Tyler Drake from Arizona Sports
Radio talking about the opponent preview. We always do on Fridays,
this time Cardinals at Seahawks on Sunday.
Speaker 3 (08:47):
The Cardinals are six and four. They lead the NFC
West in the division. Tyler, is this a good football
team in your eyes?
Speaker 2 (08:56):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (08:56):
For all of the injuries and all of the question
mark that have been around this team with their pass
rush and some of the other just you know, maybe
not having the big name talent, it's coming together and
it's becoming a consistent team. I think it's becoming a
very complimentary team. That's the big big word I think
these last four weeks is a little bit of everybody's
doing something. You've got the offense really picking up where
(09:18):
they should have been, I think coming out of the gates,
and now you've got the defense really stepping up and
not being such a liability.
Speaker 4 (09:26):
I think the special teams.
Speaker 5 (09:27):
Is underrated too, because you've got Blake Gillikin really putting
the ball and deepen the territories and that's been huge
in that regard. But I really do have to say,
I think I've been most impressed by this defense just
because they fought through losing a.
Speaker 4 (09:40):
Couple of starter four starters.
Speaker 5 (09:41):
You got Justin Jones, Blal Nichols, Bijo Givari, Dennis Gardek.
I mean, they lost a ton of names that they
even some of the guys they brought in from free agency.
So seeing them kind of bounce back and be able
to do it now, can they do it throughout these
next seven games and be close to what they put
on tape these last four that's the big But I
think right now how they're playing, Yeah, this team is
(10:03):
built to not only have some short term success this year,
but I think long term because they're gonna have a
ton of cap.
Speaker 4 (10:09):
Space next year.
Speaker 5 (10:10):
Plus we see how they've been doing in the draft,
and they've been finding guys that they can plug in
and play right away through there.
Speaker 2 (10:15):
Yeah, you guys got a couple of former Seahawks over there.
Speaker 4 (10:18):
LJ.
Speaker 3 (10:18):
Collier, former defensive player for the Seahawks now with the Cardinals.
DJ Dallas obviously another one. When you look at that defense,
to a lot of Seahawks fans, it might just be
Buddha Baker and a bunch of other guys. Can you
talk about as a unit how well they've played out
You kind of briefly mentioned it, but go into detail
about maybe a couple of games where they stood out
and how important it is for this game coming up,
(10:40):
because this is a divisional matchup that pretty much can
I guess it'll it'll show the fate for this division,
like who's gonna win it?
Speaker 2 (10:49):
Because these two teams are obviously right there.
Speaker 1 (10:52):
Well, let me interject before you answer, Tyler, I'm gonna
really the list of names at the top of the
depth chart on defense, and then fans can get an
idea what Zaven Collins, Nikwan Jones, Roy Lopez, LJ.
Speaker 2 (11:03):
Collier of defensive line.
Speaker 1 (11:04):
The linebackers are Mac Wilson because they're white, Baron Browning Corner,
Sean Murphy, Bunning, Jalen Thompson, who was going to ask
you about whether he's going to play or not at
strong safety this weekend.
Speaker 2 (11:15):
Buddha Baker.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
Of course everyone up here knows him from Bellevue starring
Thomas the nickelback Garrett Williams. Those aren't names that jump
off a page as somebody who can have a formidable defense.
Speaker 2 (11:24):
How are they doing it?
Speaker 4 (11:26):
Yeah? I know, right, it's very bizarre.
Speaker 5 (11:28):
How it's it's really like you said, Budda Baker is
the name, and you can can somewhat stop there when
it comes to big names, but you've got these guys
kind of flying under the raidar with the Kaiser Whites
and the Garrett Williams. Who that's gonna be one of
the big matches I'm looking at this week is Garrett
Williams and Jigba because he's been really solid in the
nickel and I think he's he's trending towards being the
Cardinals' best cornerback option in my opinion, and he's going
(11:51):
to have a huge test this week, so very interesting
to see if he can really keep playing up to
the level that he has, because that's been a big
part of it. These young cornerbacks are really playing up
to the level they need. They brought in veteran Sean
Murphy Bunting, but I'd say I've been more impressive with
Garrett Williams, Max Melton, Starling Thomas. All of these guys
have really not only taken a step, but have really
(12:12):
solidified themselves in meaningful roles now in the unit. And
then obviously, I know you mentioned Jalen Thompson. He did
not practice. He wasn't out there during the open portion
again today, so all signs are pointed him not playing,
so that'll be that's a definite, definite advantage for the Seahawks.
That would probably mean probably mean Dadrian Taylor Dimison, who
we all call Rabbit out here. He would probably get
(12:33):
some more looks. He's a rookie, so he can pack
a big punch like Buddha, but obviously could probably be
exploited a little bit just because he's still.
Speaker 4 (12:40):
Fresh in the game.
Speaker 5 (12:41):
But yeah, the unit is really it's cliche, but they're
playing together.
Speaker 4 (12:44):
That's the big thing. They're really playing together.
Speaker 5 (12:47):
The pass rush might not be there, but the secondary's
making up for it when they do get home.
Speaker 4 (12:51):
They're making sure they get home. So there's still.
Speaker 5 (12:53):
Somewhere to be done there for sure, And I think
that's going to go into next offseason and into the draft,
But for right now, they're definitely exceeding expectations.
Speaker 1 (13:01):
Is Jalen Thompson, Washington State strong safety. Is that a
high ankle sprain or is that a garden I hate
to say garden variety, but more of the twisted low
ankle sprain.
Speaker 5 (13:10):
We were told he was nicked up and that the
April popped up on the injury report, so that's you got.
Speaker 1 (13:14):
One of those I hear you been there twenty five
years of covering the league, I totally get it.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
I've been there.
Speaker 1 (13:22):
James Connor he leads the league I think in yards
after contact, broken tackles. The Seahawks have talked about that
all week, how hard he is to bring down.
Speaker 2 (13:32):
He's been there now a couple of years. What have
you noticed that he's.
Speaker 1 (13:34):
Done for Murray in the whole offense, In the physicality
he brings.
Speaker 5 (13:39):
Yeah, I think you start there with physicality and just
the mentality of being the best person he can be
on and off the field. That's just really who he embodies.
He's really I know Kyler Murray gets a lot of love,
and he rightfully deserves it, especially this year. He's having
an MVP like level type of season. But James Connor
is a lifelood of the offense. They want to run
the ball through him. They want him to factor every game.
(14:01):
Even when he's not running the ball, he can still
be a factor in the passing game. As we saw
last game he had five catches for eighty yards, So
just they want to get him involved. They love the toughness, accountability, physicality,
the way he preps, the way he takes care of
his body. I mean, for a guy that's right around thirty,
he seems like a guy that can keep going even
more past the average age of a running back in
(14:22):
the NFL today. So he checks every box for this franchise.
And so it's gonna be really interesting, especially going to
the offseason, because not only him, you've got Buddha Baker
two entering a contract year.
Speaker 4 (14:32):
So what do they do with that. They can't pay everybody, So.
Speaker 5 (14:35):
Who's gonna who's gonna end up being the odd man
out in that situation?
Speaker 3 (14:38):
How's the rookie Marvin Harrison Junior looked?
Speaker 4 (14:42):
Oh, he's smooth.
Speaker 2 (14:43):
He's looked like zone right six touchdown gets right right right?
Speaker 4 (14:48):
Yeah, And that's the thing. I think he can continue
to get better.
Speaker 5 (14:50):
I think more consistency is is the thing He's obviously
what you see on tape is exactly I think what
a lot of people expected him to be. Really for
me to work at, it really stands out. And I
know that was a huge thing in pre draft talks,
but just his ability to really process everything and not
look like he's so sped up. I know there's a
couple of games early on where he even admitted like, yeah,
(15:11):
I'm thinking a little too much, but you can tell
he's slowed down, and he really I mean, he's impacting
the game even when he's not getting the ball. But
I would like to see his target share go up
a little bit more of this last of these last
seven games. I think he can get more involved. But yeah,
that's really about it. I think just yeah, throw the
ball board to him. That's about my only thing right now.
Speaker 4 (15:29):
For the rookie.
Speaker 2 (15:30):
The Seahaws this season, they're different.
Speaker 3 (15:32):
Their dbs have not been shy about going man cover
one and lining up and going mono amano. How have
you noticed teams playing Marvin Harrison Junior. Has it been
a lot of cloud coverage, a lot of man, a
lot of zoom.
Speaker 2 (15:42):
What have you noticed in the past few games this season?
Speaker 4 (15:46):
Yeah, so definitely early on, a lot of cloud. I
think Buffalo is a really good example of that.
Speaker 5 (15:51):
Even for a guy who's never played an NFL game,
regular season game, they wanted to make.
Speaker 4 (15:55):
Sure he was covered.
Speaker 5 (15:56):
But there has been instances where they've really opened up
and gone up man, and I think that's where really
Kyler Murray's finding him. The last game, I believe There
is a great example where they where he caught that touchdown.
I mean they went you could clearly tell they're in
a man coverage and it wasn't even a thought. You
could tell Kyler was going there the whole way. Marvin
made a great pass or great catch and that was
(16:17):
the end of it. So I think defenses are definitely
aware of where he's at, but they're also going to
be trying to throw some looks in there. And you
also have to take into account how much of a
run first team this is. Because you're gonna allocate more
people in the back end, there's gonna be openings up front,
and they're gonna they've been exploiting that in recent games.
So it's really a pick you're poison right now for
this team.
Speaker 1 (16:38):
I got a reason that Mike McDonald won't go as
much man on Sunday. His name's Kyler Murray.
Speaker 2 (16:44):
As soon as you.
Speaker 1 (16:45):
Go man coverage, you're in big trouble accounting for the
quarterback taking off from the run.
Speaker 2 (16:50):
You brought up Drew Pets in a minute ago. Tyler.
Speaker 1 (16:52):
I wanted to ask, if I'm not mistaken, this is
the first time he's been an offensive coordinator in the NFL.
He just absolutely. I mean it was Jonathan Gannon of
course who directed this. But last year was only the
first time since nineteen seventy nine that the Cardinals had
a top five rushing offense.
Speaker 2 (17:10):
Thank you send me that. It's like Terry Metcalf days.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
What was that part of Jonathan Gannon when he got
here he said, this is who we're gonna be. Is
that because they had Connor and they have Murray to
run design plays. Was this all part of the overhaul
in Arizona? Yeah?
Speaker 5 (17:27):
Yeah, I think from day one. I think that's what
they envisioned this team being is kind of getting back
to that traditional football, that traditional offense, NFL offense, and
not so much the shotgun like you mentioned earlier, not
staying in that basically the whole game and really getting
back to basics and really focusing on being able to
do multiple in the offense. And I think that's what
we're seeing now is it's really starting to click. You're
(17:49):
starting to see where Murray can do it himself or hey,
I'm going to hand it off to my playmaker James
Connor or even Trey Vinson right now and they're gonna
get it done, or hey, I can go throw it
to Trey McBrien now off of play action and maybe
that's not something that was really gonna run that or
be as good.
Speaker 1 (18:02):
Oh yeah, that guy and brought up McBride the best
tight ends in the league all.
Speaker 4 (18:08):
Of this next year.
Speaker 5 (18:09):
And then you think of the guys that they already had.
You've got Trey McBride who can also be a blocking
tight end. They brought in some young guys and Tip
Ryman and Isaiah Adams who are really good blocking as well,
and so they've just it was the blueprint all along.
I think that was what we all saw is that, yeah,
they've got Kyler Murray, but that can't be the focal point.
And you're starting to see the advantage to that.
Speaker 1 (18:29):
Tyler Drake from Arizona Sports Radio joining us in the Beacon Plumbinghigh.
I'm gonna be down there in a couple of weeks
when the Seahawks play in Arizona. They finally is it
finally under one hundred degrees down there, Tyler, Yeah, it is.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
Actually got a like a throw over this morning. It's
probably like sixty right now.
Speaker 1 (18:48):
Try to survive that, Tyler, Please appreciate you coming on. No,
oh no, Chris, always see I try to get you
to escape so you don't getape.
Speaker 3 (18:57):
It's okay, Chris, He's gonna put you on the spots. Alright,
all right, Tyler, you said that this team is it's
pretty good. You've been impressed by how well they've planned.
So who you got winning Sunday and give us a score?
Speaker 5 (19:07):
Oh okay, okay, I know it's it's and I know
how I know how these Seattle Arizona games go. Sometimes
they get really really weird, and especially when bomb cyclones
are involved in all that. So I'm still you know,
I'm going to go with the Cardinals. I think they're
coming off the buy. I think it's earlier in the week.
I gave them a decent advantage, but with Jalen potentially
(19:29):
being out, I'll go with let's go twenty eight, twenty six.
Speaker 3 (19:34):
Oh wow, Cardinals. All right, he is on board. Don't worry, Cardinals.
Fans aren't listening, so the twelve will never.
Speaker 2 (19:40):
Get back to them anyway. He'll be ever does Toils
might be upset, but he'll be fine. We had a
guy one time.
Speaker 4 (19:45):
Yeah, I said it'd be close. They said it be close. Yeah,
We had a.
Speaker 1 (19:47):
Guy one time on here who picked I think like
a four touchdown blowout or something, and I got back.
I can't remember which opponent that was. It might have
been the Buffalo game, which they did blow him up.
Speaker 2 (19:56):
By four touchdown time. I reappreciate it. I'll see you
down there and two weeks thanks for being on.
Speaker 4 (20:02):
Yeah, no problem.
Speaker 2 (20:02):
Guys, have a good one.
Speaker 1 (20:03):

Speaker 1 (21:25):
The Giants officially released Daniel Jones today, which you might
have been able to deduce by how Daniel Jones said
goodbye publicly yesterday.
Speaker 2 (21:32):
What an embarrassment? I don't know, man, what do you mean?
You don't know? They put him at safety yesterday in practice?
That's embarrassing. Oh, that's embarrassed. I thought you meant it's
going to say goodbye is embarrassment.
Speaker 3 (21:44):
That was embarrassing too, because you're acting as if to
me that there's Yeah, that was just a bad look.
Well the whole thing is yeah, at least for him
to check still clear. But yeah, oh yeah, but they
didn't need to do that. So well, No, absolutely go
out there and say. I heard Mike Holgrin on in
SAFTI yesterday saying what an absolute embarrassment, as he said,
(22:04):
that's no way you do that, That's what. Yeah, that
to me was stupid. Yeah, just move on, would say,
would I signed Daniel Jones? No, I certainly wouldn't sign
him as until after he clears waivers, as if you
sign it, if you claim them on waivers, you inherit
the contract.
Speaker 2 (22:19):
But no, they would not.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
And hey, I say that they Daniel Jones beat the
Seahawks in Limenfield, one of them.
Speaker 2 (22:27):
Talking about that game doesn't count. That happened. That happened.
That just happened. That happened from the two five three.
Speaker 3 (22:33):
Maybe they put pictures back up after all the backlash.
Speaker 2 (22:37):
Maybe perhaps perhaps they had said at the time that
they had planned to put things on the wall. I
didn't know.
Speaker 1 (22:44):
They didn't tell it was going to be from that era.
They said it was going to be moved going forward.
But yeah, they have cam Chancer gained pictures up there
from seven eight years ago.
Speaker 2 (22:53):
And everyone picks spoone in regards. Yeah, that impressive.
Speaker 1 (22:56):
I mean I saw one Byron Murphy, so wondering Mon
Jones I think might have been a joke, but yeah, everybody,
like twenty people nailed that. It was Devin Witherspoon, who's
picked right up on Jaron Reid requesting that they practice
with a mentality like.
Speaker 2 (23:10):
The Legion of Boon.
Speaker 3 (23:11):
The first person that texted in and got it right
will be Greg Bell's color analyst for the Washington High
School state championship starting in a few weeks on two
weeks out. So I hope you're ready for that. I'll
give you a call and set you up. And I
should have done that. Yeah, I got somebody in mind,
but yeah I could up. You also asked who's watched
(23:31):
an All Star game over the past few years, just
because the new rules that have been implemented two five
three texts in NBA All Star. Yes, what's an NBA
All Star Game? It's a great question, Buddy two six
said early two thousands, two O six says, I watch
all them.
Speaker 2 (23:46):
Good are bad. So you have a little bit of
mix of everything.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
You got a mix of haven't seen it since the
other two thousands, you got someone that watched it good
or bad?
Speaker 1 (23:55):
So yeah, four two five says who is Army played?
Get back to me when Army played someone in the.
Speaker 3 (23:59):
S I get that, But isn't it kind of nice
and cool and different to have somebody that's rising up
undefeated that is not in the SEC and Big Ten
for a change? We get it that the playoff structure
is completely weighted toward the Big ten and SEC. They'll
get five six seven teams of the twelve, there'll be
two and three lost teams that make it.
Speaker 2 (24:20):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (24:23):
Is it so bad that Boise State and Army in
Tulane are rising up to be potentially included in that?
Speaker 2 (24:30):
I don't know what's all with that?
Speaker 3 (24:32):
Well, Greg speaking of the Army from the three six,
So Greg, for the Army game tomorrow, you can get
Army plus twenty three and a half and Bryce had
daily one touchdown score plus twenty three and a half,
where maybe that's an error?
Speaker 2 (24:45):
Where's that? I might even bet on that? And one team.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Scoring tv app plus four to twenty five sounds like
Greg might be hitting the casinos.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
I'm not, ah, but twenty three and a half I
might if they're gonna give me nine more points than
I've seen elsewhere fractor fiction. I took fourteen Army plus
fourteen and a half tomorrow. I'm gonna be honest here
on the radio, so it's on the record.
Speaker 2 (25:07):
Army is not big enough along the line of scrimmage.
Speaker 1 (25:09):
They're gonna need turnovers that Notre Dame is one hundred
pounds bigger at each position on the line of scrimmage,
on offensive defensive lines. It's how Navy got absolutely steamrolled
by Notre Dame fifty two to fourteen when Navy was
undefeated in the met Life game in the Medal Lands
last month. That's a decisive factor when you're outweighed by
one hundred pounds at every position on the line of scrimmage.
(25:32):
As much as I talk stuff about Army, it would
shock me if a team that undersized can beat Notre
Dame tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
I would absolutely go nuts if they do. But I
do think they'll keep it within fourteen and a half.
So that's why I took the plus from.
Speaker 3 (25:46):
The four to two five. It's not what I think
will happen, but it's what I want to happen. I
want two hundred yards combined rushing and make this a
statement game.
Speaker 2 (25:54):
They number two hundred yards, the offensive lines fixed two
hundred yards.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
They might carry Scott Huf and Ryan Grubbed down the
street on a parade. I'm well deserved fourth avenue. If
they will deserve that happened, that would be two hundred yards.
That would be crazy. Yeah, they'd win by three touchdowns
if that happened. What time is it, Greg? It is
time your last time on this show this week to
win one thousand dollars from the Emerald Queen Casino, the
betting capital of the Northwest.
Speaker 2 (26:19):
Were set to go glad you're with us.
Speaker 6 (26:20):
It's your shot at our weekly thousand bucks and the
ten thousand dollars grand prize. It's fact or Fiction brought
to you by the Emerald Queen Casino, the betting capital
of the Northwest. Make the beautiful new WEEQUC sportsbooky your

(26:40):
Radio ninety three point three kjr FM.
Speaker 1 (26:57):
H Chris just of the eleventh and a half hour
just pulled my pick for procedural reasons. So now I
gotta go with another one.
Speaker 2 (27:11):
I'll see. Now I gotta scramble.
Speaker 1 (27:15):
I was all set and then I was gonna take
the Monday night game, and Chris says, I can't do that.
Speaker 3 (27:25):
Give them the standings, Chris, if they published the standings,
I got you.
Speaker 2 (27:27):
I'll help you out here for a second.
Speaker 3 (27:29):
So right now, the for Nest Show, Oh my gosh, no,
they have twenty seven wins, twenty three losses, followed by
Chuck and Buck twenty nine and twenty five, followed by
US twenty eight, twenty six, and Softy and Fame and
Jackson twenty two and twenty eight. So we're doing a
(27:49):
lot better and we're gonna continue that because we're gonna
have a really good week this week, I promise you guys.
So just a quick recap. Monday, Greg took Ohio State
minus the point minus twelve against Indiana. On Tuesday I
took Philly minus three against the at Rams, and then
Greg took his pick you know what that is Army
plus fourteen and a half against Notre Dame. And then
(28:11):
yesterday I went with the Miami Dolphins minus seven is
the Patriots?
Speaker 2 (28:14):
Greg, what are you thinking for today? Man? Man, now,
you just had me thrown together here? All right?
Speaker 1 (28:21):
If I do think Army's gonna hang with Notre Dame,
They're probably gonna have to hold the score down.
Speaker 2 (28:26):
You would think, right, They're not going to get in
a shootout with Hi.
Speaker 3 (28:29):
I'm gonna switch the music Oda again.
Speaker 1 (28:34):
We're on the fly here because I was my pick
was pulled. I was gonna pick the money night game.
Didn't realize it was Monday night. So Army Notre Dame
tomorrow Yankee Stadium. I told you the history of those
teams playing in Yankee Stadium from way back in the forties.
Speaker 2 (28:48):
Heck, can go out of the.
Speaker 1 (28:49):
Twenties and the Polo grounds when they played for national championships.
Speaker 2 (28:52):
This isn't for national championships.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
If this could be for a spot in the playoffs,
Army and Notre Dame undefeated, Army one lost not of
Tomorrow four pm. The total points over under Mark and
this game is forty five and a half. Give me
Army Notre Dame under the forty five. I'm gonna go
back to the old stand by Chris. When I'm in
a pinch, Army in the under, I'm gonna take Army
(29:15):
in the points and Army in the end.
Speaker 2 (29:17):
I'm gonna double up on Army Notre Dame.
Speaker 1 (29:19):
If you think you would agree with me that the
two teams Army and Notre Dame will score forty five
or fewer points, text fact to four nine four to
five one. If you disagree, that means you think Notre
Dame's just going to go on.
Speaker 2 (29:29):
A boat race.
Speaker 1 (29:31):
Text fiction to four nine four y five one. You
have twelve minutes, after which time it'll be Ian Farnessa's
two thirty five show three thirty five with Dave Softiemuller
and Dick Fame for your last two chances this week
to play factor fiction again, Army Notre Dame total points under.
Speaker 2 (29:46):
Forty five and a half.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
I think that's Army's only chance to win is to
hold the score down, maybe like a twenty one to
twenty upset, something like that, but under forty five and
a half. If you agree, Text fact to four nine four
to five one. If you disagree, then you don't have
much faith that Army is going to hold him back.
Text fiction the four nine four or five one. You
have eleven minutes, So there you go. I pulled that
one out of my backside. Someone texted installing question mark.
(30:11):
Yeah obviously i'd even said I was, but yes.
Speaker 2 (30:14):
I was, all right, there it is. We got some
people for agreeing with me. All right, it's early.
Speaker 1 (30:20):
I don't know why it's all showing up in the
text line that makes me think it's not working.
Speaker 2 (30:24):
Ah well, fun, fun, What can I do.
Speaker 1 (30:27):
Army forty five and a half total points under against
Notre Dame tomorrow. If you agreed, text fact to the
four nine four to five one. If you disagree, text
fiction the four nine four or five one. You got
about ten minutes up next and for Nasseill joined me
before his show begins at noon.
Speaker 2 (30:41):
We talk some Kraken. They're in Los Angeles to play
the Kings.
Speaker 1 (30:44):
That's next on ninety three point three KJRFM.
Speaker 2 (30:47):
Hey that that doesn't look like the mayor.
Speaker 3 (30:50):
Well I'm back Greg BELLT Show with Christopher Kidd. Okay,
we got it the kickback. You weren't getting to bounce
backs from the beginning. So andrews Hearst says here he's
Anderson's going to tell us that you can have up
till eleven fifty five if you did put in factor
fiction early right after you do it again, just redo it.
Speaker 2 (31:09):
Then you can get counted in what's the pick? Army,
there we go.
Speaker 1 (31:12):
Notre Dame minus forty five and a half points. No, no,
no over Undergreg, I'm sorry, under forty five Army or
Notre Dame under forty total points. I'm saying that they're
going to combine for forty five or fewer points. If
your greed text factor four nine four to five one.
If you disagree, text fiction to four one. If you
did it in the first five minutes or so after
(31:32):
I said that last segment, go ahead and do it again.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
So you're picking both Army and the under this week. Well,
I got stuck right.
Speaker 1 (31:39):
I was doing Ravens Chargers, and right before I was
opening my mouth, Chris said, you can't do that.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
It's money night game.
Speaker 3 (31:46):
And I went to Christ, thank you. I can only
imagine put out the fires. And so then I went
quickly through the college s fleate and I, because I
didn't have time to ask Chris hated someone do the
Lions colts, which someone did?
Speaker 2 (31:58):
Yeap, Hey did someone do this? I just said, call
because no one does college at the station. Yeah. So
I always go to college.
Speaker 7 (32:03):
So I just want to Ben does a few times,
and then I do very rarely if it's a college
team that I know and am aware of. Like I
picked Wase this week minus twelve and a half. I
think they're gonna both.
Speaker 2 (32:16):
Wrong with Oregon State twenty eight nothing to the Zoomies. Yeah,
like that takes some work. That's not a good team
that they got no blanked by either air force. Yes,
so I mean their air force and their air force.
Emphasize that one more time, Greg.
Speaker 7 (32:34):
No, Yeah, So just to clarify, you guys have about
five more minutes. We extended the window to make sure
you guys get your picks in. So if you didn't
get a bounce back to it one more time, you
should be able to Army.
Speaker 1 (32:44):
A Notre Dame under forty five and a half points.
I think they're going to combine for forty five or fewer.
I sure hope. So that'll give Army the chance to win.
If you agree, text back to four four four win.
If you disagree, text fiction and you don't want a
chance of one thousand dollars, that's.
Speaker 2 (32:54):
Up to you, fair enough tomorrow.
Speaker 1 (32:56):
What do you think the chances are that Brian Smetser's
boys go down tother and win and get to the
Western Conference Final.
Speaker 7 (33:03):
I honestly think it's pretty close to a fifty to
fifty game. The LFC has had the Sounders numbers the
past like three years, but I do think the Sounders
are in a good spot right now. They're playing good
soccer and LAFC is a little banged up Vancouver. They
barely scoped by Vancouver and.
Speaker 2 (33:21):
They could have lost that game. Three totally could have
lost that game.
Speaker 7 (33:23):
And I think Vancouver kind of provided a template for
the Sounders to be successful in this game. They LAFC. Basically,
there's different formations you can play. They play five in
the back, so they're kind of they go strong in
the back and then strong up top, and they leave
the midfield pretty open. And I think that plays right
into the Sounders' hands, to be honest, because that's probably
the strength of their team at this point. They need
(33:46):
to be able to control the middle of the field
and not have those cheeky giveaways that they do sometimes
because they can destroy you on the counter attack, which
means when when you have the ball A lot of
the time, say Sounders have the ball a lot of
the time, and then THEFC maybe just gets a clear
or wins it back. Think of like on a hockey
on a power play, they go down the other way
and because you were committed numbers forward for attacking, you
(34:10):
don't have as much back. They can just on the break.
They're very clinical and they're finishing and they get a
lot of opportunities that way.
Speaker 1 (34:17):
Are they still the old air coriol Chargers of the
MLS where they score seven four games and all.
Speaker 2 (34:22):
That time not as much?
Speaker 7 (34:24):
No, they they definitely, Like I said, they've kind of
shored up the defensive side. So I think it's going
to be a close, close game. It's just for those
people who don't know, it's kind of can get confusing,
even for me as a soccer fan, because the first
round is a best of three. This one is just
a one and done one of gun and is there
extra time or straight to extra time and penalties? So
it'll be a full, full match just like you would
(34:46):
watch the World Cup regulation exactly.
Speaker 1 (34:48):
Okay, all right, I know Ian's taping with Gray Cosell
that'll be on today is Weekly Hit with Greg Cosell.
Speaker 2 (34:53):
What else is up to Grey Cosel?
Speaker 7 (34:55):
One we got Danie O'Neil at twelve twenty, and then
we got a good old Rob Rang at two o'clock.
Speaker 2 (35:00):
What are you gonna ask Rob?
Speaker 1 (35:01):
Uh?
Speaker 7 (35:01):
You know, we always kind of preview the college football
slate and what prospects we're looking at for the NFL
draft moving forward for next year. But you know, he
maybe maybe have a couple of words about the Seahawks
kind of as well, how they're playing the younger guys.
Speaker 1 (35:12):
So I would say the biggest college games probably Indiana
Ohio State.
Speaker 2 (35:16):
Oh yeah, big time. Yeah, I think the Army not
day games up there. Yeah, no worries.
Speaker 7 (35:22):
Let's let's could be gigantic Army pol If they win
that game, I would be I'd be so happy to
see them in the college for playoffs.
Speaker 2 (35:29):
Thank you, non military person. Yeah, but I think those
non traditional loss team and the Anderson served in the
Star Wars. What is it?
Speaker 7 (35:41):
I don't even know. You're trying to say Coaltic War. Sure,
that's what it was, the Colon Wars, serving the Clone Wars,
the Clone War.
Speaker 3 (35:49):
Exactly what Ranke did you achieve in the Clone Wars?
Speaker 1 (35:51):
Uh?
Speaker 7 (35:53):
I don't even know, Commander there, Commander Elite me taking
of rank Greg Nough.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
I'm going to put that out there right now. I
wasn't I was a captain. I wasn't a commander. I
was an O three. What's a commander in? What is
it called? Star Wars Wars Clone Wars? What is that?
Speaker 4 (36:11):
Like?
Speaker 2 (36:11):
Seven eight? I have no idea. Don't have the video game?
I'm not I do, but I like I don't. What's
the rank?
Speaker 4 (36:17):
Now?
Speaker 2 (36:18):
Follow the ranks? You don't walk around your house with
the rank. I don't know that on your wife. Yeah,
that your marriage.
Speaker 7 (36:23):
That won't go well, that will not go Yeah, I'll
rank you, honey. No, No, you do not. I tried
that when I was in the army. No, you never
ever outruight calor the hefa, which means the boss in Spanish.
So she's lying rightly, so rightly. So you keep doing that, sir,
You'll do just fine.
Speaker 2 (36:42):
All right?
Speaker 1 (36:43):
If you miss it, you had another minute or so.
Factor fiction four nine four five one Army notre dame.
Total points forty five and a half. I think they're
going to combine for forty five or fewer. If you text,
if you agreed text factor four nine four to five one.
If you disagree text fiction to four nine four y
five one and for Nace Anderson Hurst are up next
because someone McIntyre is on the way to Corvallis with
the Washington State Cougars. Ian and Anderson are next on
(37:04):
ninety three point three KJRFM
