has this hard hitting style to it.

Yeah, it really has. It has become that. But that's
also what happens when you have AW, which is and
some people are going to hate me saying this, that's
they're the number two promotion. So if you want to
make some money and you're wanting to be have like
a home promotion, that's kind of a no brainer to

go over there.

Well, by number two promotion, I mean by no means
are we saying they are the best or the most viewed.
What we're saying is they have the biggest machine behind them.
When you have the funds, that's what puts you at
the ranking of promotion. Yes, you know, WWE has a
lot of funds and a lot of name notoriety behind it.

They have, they are established. They are, without a doubt
in America the number one promotion, like it or not
exactly AUW number two.

Yes, and you can make an argument with WWE that
they are the number one promotion internationally to Yeah, to
an extent, but like look at how many look at
how many international tours they do. Yes, I mean it's
they they do quite a bit, quite a bit. AW
is trying to go in that direction. And there's times

that they have knocked it out of the park, like
with Stadium with all in they've been able to pull
that off. But yeah, AW, as much as I do
like AW, it is the number two promotion, yes, And
I don't think that there is a close number three
behind it.

No, And I think the I think the space between
second and third is a lot smaller than the space
between first and second. Yeah, I mean there are miles
apart between first and second. Yeah.

But and it's also it goes back to ww WWE
has the history behind them and they've been doing this
for years. It's a family bit. Well it was a
family business. So that's that's why that they are the
number one promotion in the country and arguably outside of
the country. Yes, now, of course you go to I

think if you go over to Japan, I don't think
that they are perceived as the number one wrestling promotion
over there. There are definitely you definitely have your WWE fans, Yeah,
but they gravitate more towards New Japan or Japan Pro
Wrestling no of stardom, Tokyo Joshi, whichever promotion you decide
to pick.

Well, I'm asking you this because you are a much
bigger fan of New Japan than I am. I like
New Japan, you have a lot more history with it.
WWE goes to Australia, they can sell out an arena, yep.
Can New Japan do the same?
Speaker 4 (12:35):
I don't think they can do it by themselves. I Well,
now that I think about it, Australia is within the
same time zone as Japan, right give or take like
maybe an hour or two off.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
Closer than here in Japan or here in Australia.

So yes, I think maybe they could. I think yeah,
now that I'm sitting here thinking about it, I think
that they could because if you think about it, also,
they do have quite a bit of talent that comes
not just from Australia but from New.

Jay White is one that comes to mind, even though
he's with a aw now Battle foal A comes from
that same area. Same for the Tongans there. They come
from the island of Tonga.

It is a wonderful introduction into the local wrestling scene.

I will say this. I'm not saying this because Troy Rankin,
the producer and director, was on our show and I
like the guy. I'm saying this because I enjoyed pro
wrestling and I enjoy West Virginia and I enjoy West
Virginia pro wrestling. I watched it three times and really
enjoyed it. I really enjoyed Grapple at You.

Yes, it's a It is such a great introduction. Everybody
that I've talked to have said it's a wonderful documentary.

Florida of all places, like you have the Performance Center,
there's Florida Championship Wrestling aw is based out of Jacksonville,
but maybe the independent wrestling scene is not as strong
there as it is here in West Virginia. Like I
it really does like I said, Grapple Acture really does

give you a wonderful introduction to the world of professional
wrestling around here. And I did have a chance to
talk to Adam Harris at asw's nineteen anniversary show, and
I was sitting there saying the same thing to him,
and he agreed. He said that you know this, we

here in West Virginia with all of the different promotions,
all of the different work that professional wrestlers can get.

are they've left New Japan. They are no longer a

my god, we're gonna get a rematch from Russell Kingdom.

has this hard hitting style to it.

Yeah, it really has. It has become that. But that's
also what happens when you have AW, which is and
some people are going to hate me saying this, that's
they're the number two promotion. So if you want to
make some money and you're wanting to be have like
a home promotion, that's kind of a no brainer to

go over there.

Well, by number two promotion, I mean by no means
are we saying they are the best or the most viewed.
What we're saying is they have the biggest machine behind them.
When you have the funds, that's what puts you at
the ranking of promotion. Yes, you know, WWE has a
lot of funds and a lot of name notoriety behind it.

They have, they are established. They are, without a doubt
in America the number one promotion, like it or not
exactly AUW number two.

Yes, and you can make an argument with WWE that
they are the number one promotion internationally to Yeah, to
an extent, but like look at how many look at
how many international tours they do. Yes, I mean it's
they they do quite a bit, quite a bit. AW
is trying to go in that direction. And there's times

that they have knocked it out of the park, like
with Stadium with all in they've been able to pull
that off. But yeah, AW, as much as I do
like AW, it is the number two promotion, yes, And
I don't think that there is a close number three
behind it.

No, And I think the I think the space between
second and third is a lot smaller than the space
between first and second. Yeah, I mean there are miles
apart between first and second. Yeah.

But and it's also it goes back to ww WWE
has the history behind them and they've been doing this
for years. It's a family bit. Well it was a
family business. So that's that's why that they are the
number one promotion in the country and arguably outside of
the country. Yes, now, of course you go to I

think if you go over to Japan, I don't think
that they are perceived as the number one wrestling promotion
over there. There are definitely you definitely have your WWE fans, Yeah,
but they gravitate more towards New Japan or Japan Pro
Wrestling no of stardom, Tokyo Joshi, whichever promotion you decide
to pick.
Speaker 5 (12:17):
Well, I'm asking you this because you are a much
bigger fan of New Japan than I am. I like
New Japan, you have a lot more history with it.
WWE goes to Australia, they can sell out an arena, yep.
Can New Japan do the same?
Speaker 4 (12:35):
I don't think they can do it by themselves. I Well,
now that I think about it, Australia is within the
same time zone as Japan, right give or take like
maybe an hour or two off.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
Closer than here in Japan or here in Australia.

So yes, I think maybe they could. I think yeah,
now that I'm sitting here thinking about it, I think
that they could because if you think about it, also,
they do have quite a bit of talent that comes
not just from Australia but from New.

Zealand and everything as well.

Jay White is one that comes to mind, even though
he's with a aw now Battle foal A comes from
that same area. Same for the Tongans there. They come
from the island of Tonga.

have not watched Grapple Atcham yet, I don't know why
you haven't, but I highly, highly recommend it for this area.
It is a wonderful introduction into the local wrestling scene.

I will say this. I'm not saying this because Troy Rankin,
the producer and director, was on our show and I
like the guy. I'm saying this because I enjoyed pro
wrestling and I enjoy West Virginia and I enjoy West
Virginia pro wrestling. I watched it three times and really
enjoyed it. I really enjoyed Grapple at You.

Yes, it's a It is such a great introduction. Everybody
that I've talked to have said it's a wonderful documentary.

Florida of all places, like you have the Performance Center,
there's Florida Championship Wrestling aw is based out of Jacksonville,
but maybe the independent wrestling scene is not as strong
there as it is here in West Virginia. Like I
it really does like I said, Grapple Acture really does

wrestling around here. And I did have a chance to
talk to Adam Harris at asw's nineteen anniversary show, and
I was sitting there saying the same thing to him,

here in West Virginia with all of the different promotions,
all of the different work that professional wrestlers can get.
