Speaker 1 (00:07):
Are you ready what my son? Oh yeah, Jeff, deal
bo quell, deal clean with a clock. I got one
hundred forty one and just throws Tess winning.

Speaker 2 (00:23):
But put up.

Speaker 1 (00:24):
I am bad and ain't a lot bad fund a man,
all I look there with a dollar you speak me start.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
Welcome to the grill Out from the heart of William West, Virginia.

Speaker 3 (00:37):
Here's your host, Hollywood, Chef Petty.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
Welcome back, ladies. Gun them in to the Grill Outs,
Episode eighty four. I'm your host, Hollywood, Jeff Petty. I'm
joined by my illustrious and they're okay at times. Co
host Josh Cole, Babe, I want some coffee, Go get
some coffee.

Speaker 4 (01:01):
Then all right, all right, coffee, coffee.

Speaker 2 (01:04):
Coffee and the reflection of perfection. Most of the time
he's kind of an okay guy. You want some coffee, Jasonlygens.

Speaker 5 (01:13):
I actually have some. But you see, Jeff, the problem
is is, before you went off on your tongue in
cheek snide remarks, I was going to say that you
forgot to mention the fact that you are now the
new grill Up Predictions champion. I was going to mention
that for no, no, no, I was going to do that,
but then you had to mention your comments. So I
am not going to talk about how you beat me

(01:35):
one on one in the AEW Double or Nothing pay
per view predictions mister for the Grill Up Predictions title,
I'm not going to mention that because you had to
be as smarty and do your introduction the way you did,
so I'm not gonna mention.

Speaker 2 (01:53):
I mean maybe uh uh, I don't know waitte so
waym I'm I'm a five time champion though oh thankfully
it never left my car. I gave it to you,
and yeah, listen, I forget in my defense, I tried
to give it to Josh. I tried to give it
back to Josh, and he was like, I don't like,

(02:15):
I can't remember what your response was, but you didn't
seem like you were in that hurt that much of
a hurry. Because he probably thought he had more time.

Speaker 5 (02:20):
With the title. Yeah, maybe maybe he thought that he
would just get it stolen that a steakhouse. Maybe, I
don't know.

Speaker 2 (02:27):
I don't know. Real quick, before we start to get
into the show, Josh was mentioning he still has these
trivia questions just in case we did tie. Yes, sure,
I mean we we came very close to tie. It
did came down to one match. You really needed Osprey
to win that main event, and he did not. It
went to Hangman adam Age.

Speaker 5 (02:49):
How was it closed if it was eight to six?

Speaker 4 (02:51):
Well, y'all were tied six five if you got the
main event, YAO had have been tied to six. All right, sorry,
I'm sorry it was seven to six if you got the.

Speaker 5 (02:59):
Okay, I see and I see.

Speaker 2 (03:01):
Yeah, yeah, we were very close to time. Yes, I
mean yeah, we're all caught. Well, you and I are
CAMM majors. Josh is he's a music major, but he
was a Calm major.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
Not a CAM major anymore.

Speaker 2 (03:13):
Well, yeah, we're calm graduates. Now I have my degree, yeah,
multi multiple degrees now he is. He has a doctorate
in ultimate dragon ology, doctor Jason Likens. That's how I
should be introducing you.

Speaker 5 (03:24):
Did we we did?

Speaker 2 (03:25):
We actually did get a question.

Speaker 4 (03:26):
Yeah, I forgot who asked it and what the person was, but.

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Yeah, I let me see real quid.

Speaker 5 (03:33):
Yeah, well, Josh is getting his questions up that he
was going to ask. Can you bring up the question
I can answer?

Speaker 2 (03:39):
I am I'm going to the Facebook page right.

Speaker 5 (03:42):
Now, Josh, were the trivia question questions?

Speaker 2 (03:46):
All, what was.

Speaker 4 (03:48):
The original name of these specialized tornado tag team matched
that was held at double or nothing?

Speaker 2 (03:55):
Say that again?

Speaker 4 (03:56):
Well, I wasn't read the original name of these specialized
tornado tag team mets was held at double or nothing?

Speaker 2 (04:01):
Which double or nothing? This double or nothing? Any of
any of the original.

Speaker 5 (04:04):
Yeah, I'm guessing the original since he said the original.

Speaker 4 (04:07):
Oh okay, I wasn't at the original. It was just
the original name of this particular match.

Speaker 5 (04:12):
I'm gonna say it was the Get the Young Bucks
Over tag team match.

Speaker 2 (04:20):
The final answer, Yeah, was it like a Texas Tornado
match or I mean it.

Speaker 5 (04:26):
Was a Texas Yeah, But what was the name of it?

Speaker 2 (04:29):
The name of it?

Speaker 5 (04:30):
What did they call it? What was its gimmick? What
was the gimmick name? Right?

Speaker 4 (04:34):
It's currently anarchy in the arena?

Speaker 2 (04:36):
Oh okay? Was before that? Was it stadium Stampede? Yeah?

Speaker 5 (04:40):
Okay, well you see, Yeah, you phrase the question terribly.
I knew it was Stampede.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
It's okay, all right. So the question was this comes
from Ancle back to you, Joe, This comes from Andrew Hodges.
Was Apache bull Ramos at any point in his life
Ultimo Dragon.

Speaker 5 (04:58):
But he was not. So thank you for the question, Andrew.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Yep.

Speaker 5 (05:03):
I hope that answers your question. He was not Ultimo Dragon.

Speaker 2 (05:08):
Okay. I'm glad that we are able to clear that up.

Speaker 5 (05:11):
If you have further anyone, If you have questions, please
feel free to message the Grill Out, email us, call us.
If you have Jeff's phone number, please, If you don't,
I will give it to you. Hold on, Josh, Well
I bring up Jeff's phone number. Do you have another question? Yes?

Speaker 2 (05:26):
Okay.

Speaker 4 (05:27):
So that original name was Stadium Stampede. Then it became
Anarchy and Arena. What year did it become Anarchy and Arena?

Speaker 2 (05:35):
Twenty?

Speaker 4 (05:36):
No, that was statim samped Oh still stadium.

Speaker 5 (05:39):
I'm going to stay twenty twenty two, yep.

Speaker 4 (05:41):
Because it was both covid ones were stam Stampede, and
then when they moved out of the stadium it became
Anarchy and Arena.

Speaker 5 (05:49):
Okay, okay, So for those of you who would like
to message Jeff.

Speaker 2 (05:52):
Directly, I'm about to cut this, Michael, it is a.

Speaker 5 (05:56):
Three zero four.

Speaker 2 (06:00):
Shut his mic, do too. Yeah, there we go, all right.

Speaker 4 (06:04):
Two at the twenty twenty Double or Nothing, Cody Rhodes,
who at the time just went by Cody two legal
issues with he became the inaugural T and T champion,
who presented him with the championship.

Speaker 2 (06:16):
Nope, no, can was it DDP? Nope? Oh oh Man.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
Ricky Steamboat Mike Tyson yep.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Oh, I completely forgot about.

Speaker 5 (06:31):
That because was falling asleep. He might have been, I
think so, yeah, I think Tyson was falling asleep.

Speaker 2 (06:37):
Yeah, okay, completely forgot about that though. That was a
fever dream, if anything, kind of like the the Rick
and Morty episode of AW Dynamite that was here in Charleston.
That's really just a fever dream now.

Speaker 5 (06:49):
It was the first, like halloweenish episode.

Speaker 2 (06:52):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, it was the It was the fifth
episode altogether of Dynamite, the inaugural tag team champions. We
did we They were crowned here in Charleston.

Speaker 5 (07:01):
I sat behind an individual dressed like Randy Savage, a
patriotic Brandy Savage.

Speaker 2 (07:09):
Wow. Okay, all right.

Speaker 4 (07:11):
The other question I had at this twenty twenty three
Double or Nothing. Immediately after retaining her title, Jake Cargo
issued an open challenge for the TVs Championship. Who answered
the challenge Chris Statlander? Yep, okay, how many more questions
do you got? Well, I had a couple others, but
you put them in the on the day last week.
So like I had, like the original take the events,

(07:36):
I said, what was the main event of that event?

Speaker 2 (07:38):
Yeah? Okay? Oh well yeah, okay, that makes sense real
quick before we do get into money in the bank predictions,
we got got some new champions. Yes, I won predictions
for aw double or nothing, almost tied, but it was
eight to six with Jason, So that means I have
to defend my title again on that well for the
first time.

Speaker 5 (07:58):
Yah mean again?

Speaker 2 (07:59):
Yeah, I stopped SuDS had that here on a title defense,
I think I have he's tied, Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 5 (08:09):
I don't know if you have ever actually outright one.

Speaker 2 (08:12):
I'm the king of transitional champions.

Speaker 4 (08:15):
First ring, you tied twice, Second Ragnes defenses, Third ring,
no defenses, fourth defenses.

Speaker 2 (08:23):
Oh wow, you are the weakest champion. Oh okay. So
in other words, somebody's going to take the over on
somebody else to win the title.

Speaker 5 (08:34):
I mean that would be the safe okay.

Speaker 2 (08:38):
N XT's trick. Williams is the new TNA World Champion
after defeating Joe Hendry at n x t's Battleround last
Sunday on Tuesday, and on Tuesday's NXT Ethan Page defeated
Ricky Saints to win the NXT North American Championship. Also
on the show It Is a Shock title Change, j C.
Jane defeated Stephanie Vaker to win the in A Women's Championship.

(09:01):
Raw General manager Adam Pierce announced on Friday afternoon that
Stephanie will be joining the Raw roster beginning Monday, competing
in a Money in the Bank qualifier against liv Morgan
and Ivy Nile on WWE Evolve. On Wednesday, Kaylee Armstrong
became the inaugural WWE Evolve Women's Champion, defeating Wendy chw

(09:22):
Kendall Gray, and Kylie Ray in a fatal four weight
elimination match. So money in the Bank we have four
matches from at least yes.

Speaker 5 (09:31):
Four matches confirmed. If it was aw by the time
the show happened, there would be twelve more matches, but
right now there's only four.

Speaker 2 (09:38):
Which apparently that is one thing that's being talked about
backstage amongst those in aew like they're happy with what
happened with with Double or Nothing, like nothing but positive
stuff has been said about it, But a lot of
people are like, hey, our pay per views are too long, Yes,
we need to cut back a little bit, which I agree,
that's one. That's one complaint we have had on the show. Yes,
especially with like unless it's like Double or Nothing, where

(10:01):
the show is the night that their show is the
night that our show airs to where we can get
all of the picks, and most time it's you know,
on Saturday, and we're not gonna be able to get
all of the we don't know the full card, which
we're about to be sort of with WWE money in
the bank because it's on Saturday.

Speaker 5 (10:16):
But still, I definitely do feel that a lot of
pay per views anymore are way too long. But it
makes it even more annoying whenever there's not adequate information
to give the card ahead of time, because that's what
sells matches. That's what buys is people buying it because
of the matches. So if you're only putting out big matches,

(10:36):
that's all well and fine, but everybody deserves love with it.

Speaker 2 (10:40):
I will say, at least with double or nothing.

Speaker 4 (10:41):
Last week we had the entire main card that did
not change one pre show match was at it?

Speaker 2 (10:45):
That was it.

Speaker 5 (10:47):
Well that's a record for Tony. Yeah, that is a
record for Tony. I'm proud of him. Yeah, Tony, Tony,
I need you to listen, Tony, Tony, stop what you're doing.
Turn up your radio, get closer. Okay, Tony, come on,
just you and me, buddy. I'm proud of you. Okay,
you put thought into it. You got nine of them.

(11:09):
Ounta there. That's that's a big improvement, buddy. I'm proud
of you. Papa is proud.

Speaker 2 (11:16):
Yeah, which I will say, Like watching a w here recently,
I do feel like that they have improved in certain aspects,
and I think that's one of them.

Speaker 5 (11:27):
You hear that, Tony. Your family's proud.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Yes, give aug We also would like an interview with you.

Speaker 5 (11:32):
Give us I like to do that on give.

Speaker 2 (11:35):
Us money in the bank. That's a good We only
got four Oh my goodness, we only got four matches
on the card. First off, you.

Speaker 4 (11:45):
One will be added because it's usually five matches.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
We'll yeah, yeah, we'll see Liar Valkyria will be defending
her WWE Women's Intercontinental Championship against Becky Lynch. It ain't
last chance match. If Lynch uses, she can no longer
challenge Valkyria for the title for as long as Valkyria
is champion, But if Valkyria loses, she will be forced

(12:08):
to raise Lynch's hand and recognize her as the better woman.

Speaker 4 (12:12):
Josh, So, apparently this is actually a callback to a
match they had in twenty twenty three on n x
T when Valkyri definded the no when Lynch defended the
nx T Women's Championship against Valkia.

Speaker 2 (12:22):
I think that's what it was.

Speaker 5 (12:23):
I'm just gonna say, I think one of the stipulations
here is a lot worse than the other.

Speaker 2 (12:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 5 (12:28):
Hey, if I win, you can never challenge me again.
But if you win, I'll raise your hand.

Speaker 4 (12:34):
Yeah, I mean hey, yeah, I think Lynch was the
one who's proposed this stipulation.

Speaker 2 (12:39):
Does It's just not a not a good deal.

Speaker 4 (12:45):
Yeah, beck you Lynch, you're on a Lynch Okay, I
feel the next match is against Bailey Slam.

Speaker 2 (12:52):
Okay, maybe maybe a call. Well, no, that was Sasha
Banks and Bailey thinking of the Iron Woman match.

Speaker 5 (12:58):
Jason, I'm gonna have to with Josh and go Lynch.

Speaker 2 (13:01):
Okay, make that three for three for Lynch. I just title, yeah, yeah,
I'm gonna we'll take a little safer bat because I
actually want to have an actual defense.

Speaker 5 (13:12):
This is next to yeah, but I mean it's it's
not a clean defense. It's a tie. It's it's a
dusty finish.

Speaker 2 (13:19):
It's okay, h WWE Women's Money in the Bank Ladder match.
We don't know one person for this. There's one person
to be determined. The final spot will be determined in
a triple threat match on the June second raw h
so tomorrow Monday tonight. If you're listening to this on
WSWW or w c HS between Live Morgan, Ivan Ole

(13:40):
and Stephanie vak Kerr. Right now, in the Money in
the Bank Women's match, you have Alexa Bliss, Roxanne Perez,
Rhea Ripley, Julia Naomi and of course that one person
to be determined.

Speaker 5 (13:51):
Josh, Well, really quick, I'm sorry, can you give us
who the one person may be? And just for the
fun of it, let's throw out there who we think
it may be.

Speaker 2 (13:58):
Okay, I'm okay with that. I did just give him,
but I'll I'll give you them. I'm sorry, it's okay.

Speaker 5 (14:03):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (14:03):
It's a triple threat match between Live Morgan, ivy Now
and Stephanie Vaker. Morgan, you're one, Morgan. So are we
going to use this also as a bonus? We could
there be two bonuses. That's fine. I mean we have
we we don't have enough. We have four matches, so
I think we can add that. Okay, so Morgan? And
then who do you think is gonna win it?

Speaker 4 (14:24):
Jason, that's their own person.

Speaker 5 (14:27):
Josh can go ahead. Let's let's hear yours.

Speaker 4 (14:30):
I'm actually going for her, okay.

Speaker 6 (14:34):
Uh?

Speaker 5 (14:34):
And then who wins?

Speaker 4 (14:37):
Well, who does Jeff think is gonna win this triple
threat match?

Speaker 2 (14:39):
First? It's I don't think it's going to be ivy Now.
It's going to be between Morgan or vak Her vack Her.
That's what I'm thinking. All right, Josh, do you think
is gonna win?

Speaker 4 (14:56):
I've got a couple of thoughts.

Speaker 5 (14:57):
Here, Well, only one of them can be your This.

Speaker 4 (15:00):
Is true because there's a part of me, like, you know,
Naomi could do it. She's been getting a lot of
push lately.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
But I'm gonna go rocks and press oh, okay, Peress,
all right, she.

Speaker 4 (15:14):
Was the iron woman in the Royal Rubble.

Speaker 2 (15:17):
Yeah, good, good point on that they've they have been
setting her up for something possible to this. Yes, yep, Jason.

Speaker 5 (15:27):
You know I I have a few different choices on this,
but only one of them can be my pick. I
want to go Alexa Bliss because I think it will
be Alexa Bliss. So I'm going Rhea Ripley because Ria
has she hasn't had money in the bank yet.

Speaker 2 (15:46):
Right, No, I don't think she has to think so
she has no.

Speaker 5 (15:52):
Okay, Yeah, I think it's going to be Ria. Actually,
I think it's going to be Alexa. I'm picking Rhea.

Speaker 4 (15:58):
A mommy's always on top Bliss.

Speaker 2 (16:04):
I'm going to Alexa Bliss. I think with has she
done very much since she came back? Josh, Alexa.

Speaker 4 (16:13):
Yeah, let's see, she came back. She was in the
elimination chamber. That was the last time we saw her
until these qualifier matches.

Speaker 5 (16:22):
Basically, Okay, in fairness, she did have a backstage segment
with Charlotte, so don't forget about that.

Speaker 2 (16:30):
Yeah, we can't forget about that.

Speaker 5 (16:32):
No, Actually, I'd like to change mind to Charlotte.

Speaker 2 (16:39):
Uh who knows the way at six might help her.
That's what I'm thinking. I'm thinking there may be something
with that. Yeah, I mean it shows because it wasn't
like Alexa Bliss at one point going to be basically
sister Abbigail or something adjacent to it something. Yeah. Yeah,
so I'm just going to Alexa Bliss also that way in

(17:03):
case I do retain my title. If I retained my title,
it's not through a technicality, al right. The men's Money
in the Bank ladder match, same thing. We got one
person to be determined that will be in a triple
threat match on Monday night, Roll June second between AJ
Styles at CM Punk and El Grande Americano.

Speaker 4 (17:24):
Said that Chad Gable lost his qualifier. Yeah, no, we
could have had Chad Gable and this match all right, Gosh.

Speaker 5 (17:32):
I think that will be one of the biggest what
ifs of.

Speaker 2 (17:34):
Our time, what El Grande Americana versus Chad Gable. Yes, yes,
it will be. It's it'll be like elgin Erica and
Sammy's Amen. Yeah, I mean match perfectly with one another,
never going to see it. Americana Americano. Okay, I think
he's got a break upture the women's match. Yep, I

(17:55):
didn't realize where my cursor was. Americano.

Speaker 5 (17:58):
All right, Jason Americano. Sorry you caught me in the
Yon Punk really, I mean I could see that. But
why have Chad Gable lose to then have Americano lose?

Speaker 4 (18:18):
He is a speech champion, by the way, that is,
I mean, that's that's true.

Speaker 2 (18:22):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (18:23):
Okay, here's here's my reasoning for not going with Punk. Okay,
he's getting to be a bit fragile.

Speaker 4 (18:31):
Well, he's done pretty well on this WW run. Other
than de Royle Abul last year.

Speaker 5 (18:37):
He hasn't been in a lot of high intensity weapon matches,
big bump matches. He's not exactly big bump punks.

Speaker 2 (18:53):
That's an interesting thing.

Speaker 5 (18:55):
Yeah, I mean that's just my opinion. I mean, you
pick him, I would love it a punk one. I
just I don't see the point in having Chad Gable
lose to then have Americano lose.

Speaker 2 (19:07):
Why is that are they?

Speaker 5 (19:10):
I think that with their styles lining up so much,
that it just wouldn't make sense, Like, because you know,
people I think are gonna be fifty to fifty on
that fair on on Gable and Americana. Yeah, and I
think that if you don't want Gable to win, then
you want Americano to win. It's just they're very similar,
that's all.

Speaker 2 (19:31):
Fair.

Speaker 6 (19:31):
Fair.

Speaker 5 (19:32):
It's like Elias and Ezekiel.

Speaker 4 (19:34):
They got the same tattoo.

Speaker 5 (19:35):
Weirdly big fan.

Speaker 2 (19:37):
Yeah, man, must be, must be. I'm still gonna stick
with Punk No gone, all right, Josh, who do you
think is gonna win?

Speaker 3 (19:45):
Here?

Speaker 2 (19:45):
Yeah? Uh? Real quick, I'll give who is in this match?
Solo Socoa, l A nine, pent up seth, Rollins and Andrade.

Speaker 5 (19:55):
Andrade still works there after getting divorced from Charlotte.

Speaker 2 (19:58):
Yes, yeah, huh yeah, yeah, he just wanted qualifier match
on SmackDown. He does past Friday Night against.

Speaker 4 (20:04):
Who Carmelo Hayes and who is the other one?

Speaker 2 (20:08):
I forgot the third one?

Speaker 5 (20:09):
Wow?

Speaker 2 (20:10):
Okay, yeah, yeah, I know, yeah, I know Carmelo was
one of them. I can't remember who. Yeah, I can't
remember who the other one was. Anyway, Josh, I'm going
to have to go.

Speaker 4 (20:19):
So money in a bank is in Los Angeles? So
l A Knight Yeah, okay, probably wouldn't end up with
Rawlins otherwise, but to night.

Speaker 2 (20:30):
Yeah, Jason, you see here's.

Speaker 5 (20:35):
I want to go l A. Knight, I really do.
But I think story wise, it's gonna make more sense
on Rawlins, just because Rawlins has kind of the faction
behind him. Yeah. L A Knight, I think will be
up about to get it. He will be right at
the top, He'll be reaching for it. Boom gets it

(20:57):
taken away from him.

Speaker 2 (20:57):
All right.

Speaker 5 (20:58):
Maybe Paul Hayman takes it. Maybe Brown Breaker goes up
there and literally kills La N.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
I don't know.

Speaker 5 (21:06):
I might he could eat them, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
Yeah, Jeff Solo so CooA.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
I can see it happening. Crazy other enough.

Speaker 2 (21:17):
Fair Yeah, yeah, that's a joke. And you know who
I'm actually thinking though, No who pent Pento? Yeah, I'm
really thinking Penta.

Speaker 5 (21:30):
Why Penta?

Speaker 2 (21:31):
I don't know. I just feel I feel like matches
like this just playing the hym a lot better.

Speaker 4 (21:35):
He's definitely having a big spot with Onrodi.

Speaker 2 (21:37):
Yeah, that's what I'm saying. Like, there's definitely gonna be
a sunset flip somewhere in there.

Speaker 5 (21:42):
I think they take each other out.

Speaker 2 (21:43):
They I mean they might, they might. I don't think
it's going to be and Ada. I do think storyline wise,
Rollins does make the most sense, but maybe it makes
too much sense.

Speaker 5 (21:52):
Keep in mind, it's not Vince in charge anymore. That's true,
right now, right now, never seen. They always say never
say never in this business.

Speaker 2 (22:08):
You know, I'm gonna go Rowlins. Okay, I feel like
it does make too much sense, but maybe you're making
the argument that it's not Vince booking it anymore kind
of helps a little bit, even though I still think
that there are certain UH aspects that do still linger

(22:29):
around a little bit, but not nearly as bad as
it used to be. So yeah, uh final match though,
tag match Cody Roads and Jay Usso taking on John
Cena and Jason's favorite wrestler Logan Paul Jesus. Now we
all know who your favorite wrestler is, Jesus Bobby. He's

(22:52):
a he's a Bobby Blaze ahead. Yeah all right, Jason, Josh, Josh,
what do you got mhm m. There's a hard one.
It's going either way. Yeah, you champ to.

Speaker 4 (23:09):
Lose or if you want to champ to lose, that's
yea World Heavyway champion in one corner w W champion.

Speaker 2 (23:18):
Either Okay, Logan Paul's taking a pant right. I don't know,
because there's a part of.

Speaker 4 (23:25):
Me almost thinks that Rhodes and Jay will win the
SEB rematch between Cody and John at SummerSlam.

Speaker 2 (23:32):
Mm hmm.

Speaker 4 (23:33):
But then again, does Cody win that rematch?

Speaker 2 (23:37):
Mm hmmm.

Speaker 4 (23:40):
Screw Cody and Jay, Jason.

Speaker 5 (23:49):
You see, I I told myself that I would never
pick Logan Paul, so I'm not going to John Ceno
will win.

Speaker 2 (24:02):
So you want me to just put down Sena Sena
and not Paul Sena Sena. Okay, see Paul, there you go. Jeff, Oh,
this is this is final countdown, and this's what it
comes down to. This is for all the marbles. I'm
kinda kind of in agreement with uh yeah, I'm kind

(24:28):
of in agreement with Josh that this does would set
up a rematch between John Cena and Cody Road at
Summer Slam. But I'm also like Jason, I don't want
to choose Logan Paul, but I can also see John Cena. Yeah,
but the question is who takes the pin? Is it
Jay Uso You're champion or Cody Rhodes who you even

(24:48):
though he's a previous champion of future multiple time a champion.

Speaker 5 (24:52):
I think it depends on how you have them take
the pin, true, because if you have it to wear Logan,
Paul Hen's jay Us, then you set up a match
there a rematch. If you have it to wear the
heels cheat, then you're still making your baby faces look strong. Yeah.
If it's a clean pin, then that it's you know

(25:15):
that that becomes a bit more of an issue.

Speaker 2 (25:17):
I didn't think about it.

Speaker 4 (25:17):
There could be a rematcht Paul and Jade Summer Sun
as well, because they just thought.

Speaker 5 (25:24):
Now you already locked in your pick. So Jeff.

Speaker 2 (25:32):
Logan, Paul PINNs Jay Huso sets up that rematch.

Speaker 5 (25:36):
Maybe.

Speaker 2 (25:37):
Yep. That's that's gonna be my final answer on that.
So and we're running a little long in this segment,
so real quick on this day and wrestling history. June

(25:59):
first Night ninety six World Wrestling Peace Festival took place
at the Los Angeles Sports Arena in Los Angeles, California.

Speaker 5 (26:06):
The event was.

Speaker 2 (26:07):
Promoted by Antonio Inoki and brought together matches and wrestlers
from NJPWWCW, NWA, TRIPAA, and CMLL. The main event saw
Enoki team with NWA Worlds Champion Dan Severn to defeat
Yoshiaki Fujiwara and Oleg Taktarov. The semi main event saw

(26:28):
then WCW World Heavyweight Champion The Giant defeat Sting in
a non title match. The event was considered a box
office failure, with less than six thousand fans in attendance
at the seventeen thousand capacity arena.

Speaker 5 (26:43):
Love at a lot. I would have loved to have
seen Anoki versus Dane seven.

Speaker 2 (26:47):
Yeah, that would have been awesome. Yeah, that would have
been absolutely awesome. June first, two thousand and eight, WWE
One Night Stand took place at the San Diego Sports
Arena in San Diego, California. All the matches on the
show had extreme stipulations, with Edge defeating The Undertaker in
the main event in a tables of ladders and Chairs match.

(27:08):
The win gave Edge the vacant World Heavyweight Championship and
forced the Undertaker to leave WWE. In reality, Taker was
taking time off to heal injuries and returned at SummerSlam
a couple of months later. Also on the show, Triple
H retained the WWE Championship in a last man Standing

(27:28):
match over Randy Yorton.

Speaker 4 (27:30):
And the following year one night, Stane will become Extreme Moves.

Speaker 6 (27:33):
Yes.

Speaker 2 (27:34):
Finally, June first, twenty nineteen, two title changes changed hands
at what many considered to be the greatest NXT event
to date, NXT Takeover twenty five, held at the Webster
Bank Arena in Bridgeport, Connecticut. The main event saw Adam
Cole defeat Josh Cole's Lomless cousin He's Dead to Me

(27:56):
defeat Johnny Gargano in a classic thirty one minute matt
to win the NXT Championship. The other new title holders
on the evening were the Street profits Angelo Dawkins and
Montese Ford, who won a fatal four who won a
four way ladder match for the vacant NXT Tag Team
Championship against Bobby Fish and Kal O'Riley, Danny Birch and

(28:17):
Owning Larkin and Wesley Blake and Steve Cutler. And that's
gonna be it for that segment, Ladies and gentlemen, We're
gonna take a quick break and then we will be back.
It's time for more of the grill Out. Here's Hollywood.
Jef Petty, Welcome back, ladies and gentlemen to the Grill Outs.

(28:40):
I'm your host, Hollywood, Jeff Petty, I'm joined here with
my illustrious co host Josh Cole Babaye. Yeah. And then
Jason like Likens the Reflection of Perfection or could I
say doctor Likens right now?

Speaker 5 (28:50):
Doctor Likens, thank you very much.

Speaker 2 (28:52):
Yes, he finally got his doctorate in Ultimo dragonology. But
they are not the only two that are here with
me right now. This other person. He is a seventeen
year veteran of the professional wrestling business. You can catch
him and rise at Pro Wrestling, Atalacchian Championship, Wrestling, All
Star Wrestling, among other promotions. He is a former ASW
Heavyweight Champion, ASW Tag Team Champion, along with plenty of

(29:15):
other accolades. He will make his in ring return this
Saturday with D D Trash teammates Bruce Gray and manager
Gary Dammeran by their side as they take on the
heat Seekers of Sigmund and Elliott Russell at ASW Bash
and Beckley Five in the Beckley Raleigh Convention Center from Chillicothee, Ohio.
Pure Trash Ron mathis how you doing? Ron?

Speaker 6 (29:38):
Hey?

Speaker 5 (29:39):
It?

Speaker 6 (29:39):
Well, I'm good, guys. I actually prefer doctor too though.

Speaker 2 (29:42):
Hey, listen, I get it, doctor trash. It would it
be doctor Mathis.

Speaker 6 (29:46):
Or doctor Trash, whichever you prefer.

Speaker 2 (29:48):
Hey, that's okay.

Speaker 5 (29:49):
I'm gonna go doctor trash. Yeah, I think that sounds better.

Speaker 2 (29:52):
It does.

Speaker 6 (29:53):
It's sound good.

Speaker 5 (29:54):
It's great because you have one doctor talking to another doctor.
It's a paradox doctor yeah, doctor.

Speaker 2 (30:02):
One thing, that one place. I always like to start
off with everybody. It's kind of cliche, but everybody's story
into getting into the wrestling business or just being a
fan of the wrestling business is a little bit different.
How did you like first discover wrestling and what led
to you going into the wrestling business.

Speaker 6 (30:20):
Well, I don't really have a memory of discovering wrestling,
because the way my parents explained it to me is
that when I was a baby, anytime i'd be yelling
or crime when wrestling came along, they'd sit me in
front of it and I'd watch it without blinking, and
then when I did it, I'd just started yelling and
screaming again. So I don't have one single conscious memory
of not being obsessed with wrestling, And then when it
came into getting into it, it was just pretty much

(30:41):
the plan was always to do it as soon as
I turned eighteen, but ran into some walls because very
nothing had happened in chill a coffee and I had.
It took me a little while to figure out where
to go, and then I was about twenty four. I
got the right group of friends together and we went
and trained with Cody Hawk.

Speaker 2 (30:55):
Okay, yeah, I was because looking up. I know that
online information is there's definitely some discrepancies, but I was
looking up to like who you, who trained you and stuff,
and I did see a few different names, but that
was one of them that was brought up. So like
with that, Uh so, have you just been a lifelong
wrestling fan?

Speaker 6 (31:13):
Yeah? Yeah, Like I said, it's a kind of tunnel visual.
When I was a kid, like I didn't play with
any other toys, I didn't have like g I Joe's
or cars or anything like that. It was always just wrestling, wrestling,
wrestling kind of a to the point where it took
me to a certain age to realize not everyone had
something they were not obsessed with. I thought everyone had
like a thing or two that they and I really
thought it was the weirdos that you have. I mean,

(31:35):
I was mostly just into the the action figure. So
it just depends on what you know, what age I'm at.
When I was five, I had those big I can't
remember the brand names, you know, the big rubber ones
that just stood there, like the Hogan and the Iron.

Speaker 4 (31:45):
Cheek and that like the LFJ or something LJF.

Speaker 6 (31:49):
There there's one's LJN and then there's Globe, and like
there's like I said, there's a whole so many of
them I can't keep a straight up. I like to
playing with them. I'm not really like you know the
people that collected but know all the brand names. But
you just line up what nineteen ninety OUs fives whatever
the WF and ww're making then and so on and
so forth. You follow my age?

Speaker 2 (32:05):
Yeah, So, like, who were your wrestling inspirations like growing
up and maybe influenced you in the ring?

Speaker 6 (32:13):
Well, my very first favorites that I remember were a
stig at Baco Beed. So as I take like the
bright collars of the crazy voices of the ergy, threwy
to it and that I have a theory that as
you get older, turning to a teenager, that's when you
have one way either completely lose interest in wrestling or
you become a weirdo or a nerd or a wrestler
way obsessed with it. At fourteen, that's when ECW was

(32:34):
getting really big in the Attitude era. So around then
in my younger age of Machavan sticking and they want
to get to a teenager, I found ECW and then
Tommy Dreamer and Raven RVD. That all where a hardcore
background came from.

Speaker 5 (32:47):
Really, Okay, you know it's funny because growing up, always
wanted a leather jacket because of Raven. Yeah, it was
very moody anyways. Yeah, yeah, But I'm being an individual
from Boom County, I'm I'm curious as to where the
whole pure trash moniker came from.

Speaker 4 (33:04):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (33:05):
Really, that just kind of came organically. There was a
I've never been like, I don't owed a pair of
pants with a zipper, like I like being comfortable. I
owed two shirts that have sleeves, and I consider that
dressing up. But I'm wearing a short sleeved T shirt.
And just at one point there's a promotion where I
was the heavyweight champion and this promoter or not even
as a booker, was like, hey man, you're my champion.

(33:27):
And you're showing up to the building looking like this,
and I just don't get it and it's not a
good reflection. Or at first just rolling my eyes and
being like like, it's it's the indies, man, I was like,
I get it, but I like, I'm coming here like
and just but then eventually what I transitioned to I
started thinking, I was like, you know what, this is me,
this is who I am. If I just make it
part of my gimmicks, what's your beef with it? So
I just started calling myself the white trash Messiah, and

(33:51):
then that just and then I felt out like, you know,
if you break it just down to trash, it becomes
incredibly marketable. Plus it just I feel comfortable in my
skin and I call myself that I'm trash, and I'm proud.

Speaker 2 (34:00):
I grew up in a trailer park in Chile in
West Virginia, so I can definitely relate to it, especially
like because I've been going to like ASW shows since
twenty eighteen ish and I like you and and Huff
Lanley and a couple other ones that stood out, but
definitely you because I heard you screaming trash and I'm like, oh,
I can relate to that guy. So is that what

(34:20):
led to White Trash Forever?

Speaker 6 (34:23):
Yeah? Yeah, yeah, that was actually in a New Jersey
at H two Wrestling. It was owned by Matt Tremont. Okay,
and yeah, me, Bruce and Tyler I suggested the idea
of us coming together as a tree of Bruce Gray
Tyler Box and me and Tremont actually came up with
a name. So I all the credit to him for that,
because again, marketing is very important to this business, like
and we've and it's you know, the WTF thing and
putting it on shirts and stuff. So the the idea

(34:46):
of the group came from me. The name was whenever
sent Bulldoza.

Speaker 5 (34:51):
I'm curious because you mentioned New Jersey and I've been
to New Jersey a few times and I hate New Jersey.

Speaker 6 (34:56):
What do you think?

Speaker 5 (34:57):
What is the worst state that you've been to? And
why is it New Jersey?

Speaker 6 (35:04):
Well that wasn't say be it Berusey. We're real big,
Like we get to the show, we wrestle, we make
our buddy, we have our foot, and then we get
try to get hold of it as reasonable hours possible.
So usually the other thing we see in the cities
is the venue and the sheets if there is one.
But as far as if I still had to pick
up from my trend, it would absolutely be New Jersey.
The driving is ridiculous. Everyone is just jerks when it
comes to driving. Happened to I can't put my own

(35:26):
gas like I'm six. I've never gotten a good reason
for that.

Speaker 2 (35:29):
Yeah, Jersey sucks yet.

Speaker 6 (35:31):
Grassling the wrestling movie. The wrestling scene there is cool.
The fans are awesome. I like the wrestling community. It's
I mean, the actual physical state. I hate your reslate community.

Speaker 5 (35:41):
New people hate you.

Speaker 6 (35:44):
We're just not find over it to learned. Doctors hate you?

Speaker 2 (35:47):
Yes, yes, exactly. I just remember because I went to uh,
New York City when I was in college, and I
drove from like here through Pennsylvania. Then when we got
to the Jersey border, I pulled over and was like,
somebody else's driving. I'm not doing that.

Speaker 6 (35:59):
I'm dealing with August pretty bad too. Cougu's pretty bad.

Speaker 2 (36:02):
To drive it, I could imagine. So you've been in
the wrestling business for quite some time. What do you
think the biggest difference between Ron mathis now seventeen years
in and the Ron mathis like back then only one
year in might be a bit of a might be
a bit of a loaded question.

Speaker 6 (36:19):
Yeah, that's all. That's a whole lot. I mean, first
foremost comes up. You know my body. I'm still moving
and chugging along. What I got now? Bad knee, bad neck,
bad shoulders. I wish I could move like a like
You'reronnie at seventeen. But other than that, I think it's
a I prefer being a that trend not just based
on not having to eat the sandwiches all the time,

(36:40):
but just the more the longer you've been doing it,
the more things slow down, the ring and the more
complex stories you can tell and the more people start
trusting you. Is like, yeah, I missed the athleticism, but
I I way prefer the way like your eyes just
open to the business. It only comes with reps and traveling.

Speaker 4 (36:57):
Uh so you kind of mentioned him before, But how
did you and Bruce right end up teaming? And like
did you have a different name before d D Trash?

Speaker 6 (37:05):
Well, we started teaming because we actually, uh we were
just like ships a cross of the night kind of
because we're from the same city. Chili Coffee. Obviously, he
graduated one year ahead of me. He's one year older
me because he as old as hell. And it just
so happened though, the year that I got in was
the year that he got out as a referee, because
he refereed for years. Uh pretty well, traveled at some

(37:27):
ring of honor, went to England and dropped Tracy Smothers
on his head. And uh so eventually I'm a couple
of years in and I hear word that he's getting
back into the business and I should hit him up
to travel together. And uh, I didn't know him at all,
but I'm like, I don't know, man, this guy kind
of he kind of looks like a square. Is he
gonna go to handle travel with me? But eventually we
we wined up and we traveled together. And after a

(37:49):
few years of traveling together and having like hundreds of
matches against each other, we were at a point where
were wrestling each other twenty five thirty times a year,
and where finally he just like, man, we both like
tag team wrestling, and he's always getting thrown together in
tag teams. He's like a tag tam specialist, like the
arn Anderson of the Shendy's. He's constantly being he would
constantly be put with this guy and then put with
that guy. He'd have to just make it work, or
why don't we just do it and actually commit to it?

(38:10):
And once we did, it just really really took off
and we we already knew we were in love with
tag wrestling, but once we committed, do we have one
tag team partner? Uh? Over again?

Speaker 2 (38:20):
Okay, so you and burse d D trash? How did
Gary get involved with being Yelle's manager?

Speaker 6 (38:28):
He's just a politicer. You always wanted to put himself over.
He's He's just a real piece of you know, if
I could change one thing about my career, it would
be that I never made Gary my manager and let
him steal my spot. And I'm kidding up, I believe
it just leaving and I'm just kidding too. He's a
sensitive guy.

Speaker 2 (38:48):
We love you, hear.

Speaker 6 (38:50):
We were getting to an anniversary show and we wanted
something big and special, so we just kind of came
up with a thing where we thought it was going
to be a one off because the fans loved Gary Man.
I've never seen a promoter who has a relationship with
his fans like Gary at ASW That's why the Bash
at Beckley is so successful. It's why every show at
Madison is so successful, because Gary and his fans love
each other. So we're like, let's get in some specials

(39:11):
the anniversary show. Let's let's have Gary mannon. So it's
having he's never been involved in the show. So we
plan a one off. We got like matching glasses and
a snazzy outfit and Gary went up body slam and
Shane Storm, which is one of the biggest puff I've
ever heard in Madison. And then after the fact, we're like,
why why make it one off? Like the fans love
it and they deserve it, and and so we just
we adopt adopted, and that's a special thing just for ASW.

(39:34):
There's been occasions where we've done it outside, but ninety
nine point percent of the time, if you want to
see bed trash managed by Gary Damer, it's got to
happen at ASW.

Speaker 5 (39:43):
Now I'm curious you, what is the injury that you're
currently recovering from.

Speaker 6 (39:49):
I tore my acl in my the meniscus in October.

Speaker 5 (39:51):
Okay, how did that happen? And what has the journey
been like coming back from that?

Speaker 6 (39:56):
Well, I was wrestling Donovan die Jack for Rise in
a in Pennsylvania, and at the very very beginning of
the match, I was gonna come off the middle rope
and hit an elbow on him, And as soon as
I pumped the jump, the rope rolled underneath me, and
instead of just trying to land safely, I was like, man,
this is the very beginning the match. I'm wrestling die Jack.
I'm going to save this elbow yea. And instead of

(40:18):
saving it, I just landed all on one leg and
it just you can see it just go underneath me
and I go down. And at first I was like,
I've hurt my knee a million times in matches and
been able to work through it and then get to
the back and work it off. I'm like, all right,
maybe that's what this is. So I keep wrestling, and
at one point, I like, you can watch the match
on rises YouTube. The matches up, but he like, I
block a punch from him, and then when I punch him,

(40:40):
if you were watching you you would think I forgot
what happened and that he punched me because I punch
him and I just go down immediately. But I get
through it. I can I wrestle like the match is
like eighteen more minutes and it's in the very beginning.
So I wrestle sixteen seventeen minutes with my ACL going
just trying to stand up get to the back. I
can tell something wrong because I can't put any weight
on it at all, But I know I don't want
to go to the hospital intentially, and I always hate that.

(41:02):
I want to get home, so I've got all the
way home once to the doctor the next day. Then
this is where the waiting process really started, because I
had to wait like two weeks to get an MRI
and they told me it was torn, and then it
was two more months before surgery. So I had surgery
on December eighteenth, and then from there it's just been
physical therapy the entire time and working hard and trying

(41:25):
to get back in the ring. It's also a confusing
thing too, because the doctors at the timetable they tell
you it's like, man, I've done one hundred wrestlers by
the surgery, and none of them have been out the
amount of time they're trying to give you. But I
know my body and I think I'm ready and good
to go for next Saturday in Beckley.

Speaker 4 (41:41):
So with this time off, how does it feel to
return this Saturday.

Speaker 6 (41:45):
Well, a lot of wrestlers have like shoot jobs during
the day, which I'm too stupid. I don't for whatever reason,
so I never I've been managing Brucie the entire time
I've been out, so I haven't actually left the business.
I've been there, I've been around, but then I will
see the thing and so that's made things a lot
a little easier. But man, it's also made it harder,
cause like there's always a point in time and I'll
be sitting in the back where my little manager's tie

(42:07):
and I'll be looking around seeing and we're getting ready
for their matches, and I'm just like this fucks. Plus
the fact that usually, you know, when you sit in
the car for three hours, you get that adrenaline pump
and had adrenaline spike, but it's mis managing. So like,
on the one hand, it felt good to stay close
to the business, I felt like I was in a
bird cage. So I am dying to explode. Like you
guys said, I've been doing this about seventeen years, and

(42:27):
I'm the longest I've ever been out before this was
two three months, like I had an elbow surgery at
one point, and then during the pandemic, I was only
out two or three months because me and Bruce filmed
an empty Arena best of seven and sold it online.
So even when the world shut down for six months,
I only took three months off. So this is like
twice as long as I've never had off. It it
feels weird.

Speaker 2 (42:46):
Okay, one more question and then we'll let you go.
Like what we said before, you and Bruce Gray are
taking on the heat Seekers Elliott Russell and Sigmund this Saturday.
What do you want people to know about this match
going in? I've seen the heat Seekers quite a bit
in ASW. Sigmund I have probably hollered at a couple
times from the crowd, as has everybody. Just you know,

(43:09):
what do you want the fans to know about it?

Speaker 6 (43:11):
Well, as far as a tag team success in ASW,
that it starts them agains with two tax teams d
D Trash and the heat Seekers, And at first we
just both happened to casually mention that in Primos that
we think were the best, and then it turned into
a thing where Bruce russeled Sigmund and in that match
they attacked me, they took out my leg, they took
off my brace and hit you at the chair and
put me in a single lead crab and they tried

(43:33):
to slow down my return. So now this Saturday in Beckley,
it's d D Trash versus the heat Seekers, which again
in my mind is determined who is the best tag
team in ASW history. And I'm coming for revenge because
they tried to keep me on the shelf longer.

Speaker 2 (43:45):
