Uh, and this was that WWE Worlds Collide, the ww
triple A house show, well not house show, but the yeah,
you know, the show that they did right before Money
in the Bank, which.

He didn't. Yeah, which, by the way, the correct me
if I'm wrong. They were both in LA, weren't they.

That was making sense because I kind of for some
reason when I was yesterday, when I was following everything
on my phone, I was like, wait a minute, what
where do they because people were talking about with like
money in the Bank. How like a lot of fans
hadn't showed up yet.

Yeah, Like so I'm like, wait a minute, and.

it's at seven.

But yes, so they had Worlds Collide yesterday, so I
would say, uh, it is not out of the realm
of possibility that that show was a lot of people's
first introduction to lucha libre, like like like legit, like
from a legit like Luit libret emotion. I'm not yeah,

I'm not disc and I'm not saying that like discrediting
like Ray Mysterio and Eddie Guerrero and them, but like
actual lucha. Yeah, so let's see.

Aero Star and Mystery Iguana defeated the Latino World Ordered
Dragon Lee and Cruiz del Toro and lench.

Oh okay, okay, Stephanie Vacker and Lola Wece defeated Chick
Tormenta and Dailies.

Leget O'Dell Fantasmo Santos, Ascobar, Angel and Berto defeated El
he Hotel, Doctor Wagner, Junior Pegano, and Psycho Clown. Also,

Phoenix for the n x T North America Championship, and
El he Hodel Viking Go defeated Chad Gable to.

Retained his Triple A Mega Championship. I guess, I guess

What my one criticism Conan just his commentary I heard.

I So I didn't watch the actual broadcast.

Like I said, I was following it on my phone,
you know those that.

I won't go into detail, but the past week has
been kind of a rough week, so I was already
having to deal with some personal things yesterday, so I'm
just following everything on my phone last night and and yesterday,
but I kept hearing that Conan's commentary was not atrocious.

Yeah, I mean there are times it was a okay,
like he had Stephane v Kerk combia was kind of funny,
but other than that, it was just like, yeah, Corey
Graves really excited.

And then well, you know, yeah, it's really good.

Yeah.

Speaker 2 (05:12):
I did hear a lot of praise for Corey Graves
for his commentary, which he rightfully deserves. I mean, you know,
the I think the I think Corey Graves could after
seeing a little bit and just hearing the the feedback
from people, I think Corey Graves could hold his own
as a lead on a commentary table.

Speaker 4 (05:33):
Yeah. I do think he is.

Speaker 2 (05:35):
He is a better color commentator, a heel color commentator
than he is a play by play guy.

Speaker 4 (05:39):
But I do think he could hold his own there.

Speaker 2 (05:42):
But yeah, speaking of World's collide, we'll just go ahead
and shift gears real quick to money in the bank.
But before we get the money in the bank, yeah,
we have to set it up real quick with how
the week has went in professional wrestling.

So you're fired, not really not really, sort of kind
of same result, but yeah.

Yeah.

Earlier this week, a few different wrestlers have they did
receive their notice that WW will not be renewing their contracts,
most notably our Truth will get to him shortly Carlito
and Sarah Logan aka Valhalla. The reason for these cuts,
according to TKO, is a mixture of budget cuts, performance age,
roster changes.

Speaker 4 (06:24):
Et cetera.

Speaker 2 (06:25):
The flip aside to this tactic is that they will
not have a non compete clause.

Speaker 6 (06:31):
Release.

Speaker 4 (06:32):
Yeah. We were actually talking about that a little bit
off the.

Speaker 2 (06:34):
Air, and I was like, hold on, wait a minute,
let's let's talk about this on the show.

Speaker 4 (06:39):
But you know, it is sort of a I hate
that people are losing their jobs.

Speaker 2 (06:43):
Yeah, but it I think this is a little better
being told, hey, we're just not going to renew your contract.
We're gonna let it expire, and then at that point
you can But I will say, on the flip side,
and it depends on how much time you have on
your contract. On the flip side, if you're getting released,
depending on if it's main roster NXT, NXT's thirty days, right,

main rosters ninety days, you at least have a little
bit of time to plan out your next move and
during those those thirty to ninety days you're still getting paid.

Yeah, So like there, I guess there's there's pros and
cons to both of them. Yeah, I don't know.

Maybe I would rather be told that my contract's just
not getting renewed to where I don't have to have
a non compete clause and I can go ahead and
immediately start working right after.

You can go just pook a random indie show or something.

Yeah, exactly. I mean Carlito sort of did that. It's
not a random indie show, but it was a World
Wrestling Council in Puerto Rico.

That was a weird one.

Because they actually got that approve with WWE and then
like two days later or whatever, they like, yeah, we're
not renewing you.

And honestly, by that token right there, that sounds like
to me like it was like this decision was somebody
at the TKO office who probably doesn't have a whole
lot of like a like a large hand in the
WWE side of things. Probably doesn't have a large hand
in the UFC side of things. Yeah, probably is just

I hate to say this, a pencil pusher and was
just looking at numbers and was like, Hey, we just
need to get rid of this guy not knowing that
something like that, or in Our Truth's case, and you're
lucky WWE.

I was about to say, how dare you? How dare you? Ww?
But we'll get to that. We'll get to that here
in a second.

You like Sarah Logan, you can make an argument, Carlito,
you can.

You can make an argument, maybe not as strong as Sarah,
but you can make an argument as to why he's
not getting renewed Our Truth. That's the one that threw
me for a loop. And I think that's the one
that threw everyone for a loop.

That like to me, I know that Our Truth has
some age on them.

not going by our truth now.

Because like Johnson had a good promospect on about it too.

And the fans were chanting, you know, we want truth,

want truth. Then yesterday, during the World's Collide stream on YouTube,
you go to the chat, it's a bunch of we
want truth. Yeah, we want truth.

Yeah, I mean backstage, according to different reports, it was
like the most controversial release or not release, but you know,
let go.

I think like even people who are like hardline WWE haters.

would you book somebody in a main event match with

On SmackDown And then the next day or two days.

Later, Yeah, yeah he had Yeah, he had the match,
the match on SmackDown that Friday.

Yeah, and then yes, that's a whole other.

Thing that was on previous episodes ago where we talked
about his new name, and yeah, just a couple of
days later, he comes out and he says, you know,
basically that he's been he's his contract's not getting renewed,
and according to Fightful, he they were they were trying
to reach back out to him to I guess, renegotiate

his contract.

He would not answer them.

Yeah, according to them. You I remember you sent the
sent the thing in the group chat. Yeah, according to Fightful,
they would not. He wouldn't answer the phone until Nick Cohn, yeah,
finally called him and sat there and renegotiate his contract.
I think people, you know, I just I think they

were very much against that, as they should have been. Yeah,
like I said, you can make an argument for Carlito.
You can make an argument for Sarah Logan.

Carlito is even weird too though, because there was a
storyline he was on TV in a storyline. Yeah, Sarah Logan,

Like, you can make an argument there, and even with like,
even though like it is weird with Carlito, you could

argument for why Carlito's Contract's not getting renewed versus our truths.

back last night just to walk you through predictions for
Money in the Bank. Yeah, we all tied at two
points for for the Money in the Bank card itself
going in.

Couple matches that hadn't been determined yet on who was
going to win, who was going to be the last
couple participants. Everyone got Becky Lynch winning the women's into
Cract Natal Championship, right. Jason and myself both correctly guessed
Seth Rollins winning the men's Money in the Bank match. Yeah,

you said, la, which was a good pick. Not none
of us got the women's match.

Yeah, I like had the right mindset when we were
doing our.

Predictions on Naomi, but I went with Rock san Frits.

Yeah, I mean, the the Naomi one with the way
they've been setting it up makes sense.

They've they've been kind of giving her a little bit
a little bit of gas to go with on there.

was maybe Stephan Kerr was going to get it.

and I said Alexa Bliss.

Josh correctly predicted that Cody Roads and Jay Usso would
defeat John Cena and Logan Paul.

A fifth match, but it was added the day of
the event during World's Client. That match saw Dominic Masteriro
retain the Intercontinental Championship against Octagon Junior from Triple A.

The two bonus points gave Josh the win.

Correctly, Josh is our new Grill Out Predictions Heavyweight seven.

I cannot get a defense to save my life.

that both Stephanie Vaker and El Grande Americano would win
their qualifying matches on this past week's raw. I got
Vaker right, but said seeing Punk for the men's, while
Jason got Americana right but said.

Live Morgan for the women. Yeah, so yes, Josh is
our new and current numbers grill out Predictions heavyweight champion.

Yes, so I bring that up because I feel like
the high that people have gotten with Triple H being
in charge, things being new, things changing for the better
and everything, I feel like that had Like I think
it was there for the Royal Rumble of this year,
but it has slowly worn off, and then once we

hit WrestleMania, it really dipped. And I say that because
anything that is new like that, if it runs its course,
it eventually has to get to where, Yeah, like it
runs its course and it eventually has to like, it
has to cool down. AW did the same thing. When

they first came on the scene. They were unstoppable. Everybody thought,
oh my god, they were going to go the whole way.
They're like, some people had it in their minds crazy
enough that they were going to take down the WWE.

Speaker 4 (45:19):
They were not going to. I can tell you that
one right now. They were not going to do that.
Nobody's gonna take down the w w W except for
the WWE itself. I don't think it will do.

Speaker 5 (45:28):
That an interesting thing to that, you know, Vince was
still in charge. WWE's product got better because of AW
with Vince still there.

Speaker 2 (45:36):
Yeah, because because because Vince is the person that thrives
off of competition.

Speaker 4 (45:40):
It's the same it was, rinse and repeat. Go back
to the late nineties.

Speaker 2 (45:43):
Yeah, mid to late nineties, everybody were you know, I
don't want to I don't want to say everybody hated
the new generation, but they weren't too crazy about it. Yeah,
and then w CW comes on the scene and they
take the fight to them and they beat them in
the in the ratings and everything when ratings actually meant something.
And they went in there and and Vince was like,

oh my god, like I got it.

I have to do something POW.

And then we get the attitude era and yeah, no,
that's the I think you're you're, you're, you're onto something there.

AW came on the scene.

They Vince then had to compete with them. But if
you think about AW were on the scene for what
six months.

Speaker 4 (46:23):
And then the pandemic hits.

Speaker 2 (46:24):
Yeah, and I think as far as pandemic wrestling goes,
I mean, I know, WW WE had the Thunderdome, and
there were good things that happened over there, like Remanriins
finally turning turning heel and whatnot. But I feel like
AW did a better job of handling the pandemic, Like
for some reason, I just look at their product was
better around that time. But AW eventually had to cool off.

Jim Ross talked about that. I remember like when a
W first came on the scene, Jim Ross was like, Hey, yeah,
it's it's fun, it's it's it's exciting, but eventually this
is going to wear off, and where are we going
to be at at that point?

We thing that really sucked, Like it started to really
get a tie back when Sampunk came in and then
there was that whole fiasco for like two years in
a row.

Yeah, it really took a hit on them as well.

Yeah, and it feels like only recently they're really recovering
from that.

Yeah.

I think I think they're I think double or nothing
last month and leading up to that, I think that
they they were starting to get their footing again.

I think them showing.

And we've mentioned on the show numerous times, I think
them showing the backstage footage in the in the Charleston
Colisee and when when we were there, Josh, I think
that right there really set them back and that was
a huge misstep.

On their on their part, and that was like to me,
that was that was stupid to do that.

Speaker 5 (47:45):
I have a like, I wasn't two against it, but
I felt I felt like at the moment it actually
did better for Jack Perry. But then it just went
away after that, and he's just he's not even there.

Anymore, Yeah, exactly, like he's kind of faded off into
the Yeah. But I think, yeah, I think a w
is starting to get their feeding, their their their their
feet underneath them again. I don't know if he'll get
to the point that that it was, but I feel
like that they're they've they're really starting to put off
put off a good product now. I think WWE has
a good product and has had a good product, but

I just think the shininess has worn off now and
people are like they can actually see Okay, so here
are the flaws.

A little bit that are going on, and a lot
of it has to do with t KO.

Then this whole buckling down on shorter match cards for
like the B level pay per views and even into
the main paper us. I mean Money Bank was five matches. Yeah,
it's technically a Big five exactly. Rumble I think had
four or five matches granted to Rumble matches like an
hour each.

But yeah, like that that that kind of you can
you can make that argument.

Speaker 2 (48:53):
Yeah, but yeah, I think that it has because WWE
since they did go mainstreaming, we're get regard to the
main event. And this is the last thing I'll say
about WWE has always since they went fully mainstream, like
after the Attitude Air, after the Monday Night Wars and
they were on Fox Sports and all this other stuff

in the early two thousands, WWE has always sort of
had since it has always sort of had that corporate
side to it. I've always said that they were the
mainstream wrestling promotion, like if you were to put it
to like if you were to equate it to music,
they are the mainstream record company. But I really think
that that is now multiplied by like ten with TKO involved,

and I think fans are really starting to see that
and they're really not that happy about it.

Much more corporate than what it used to be.

Absolutely it is. It is much more corporate than it
used to be. So don't know how much power Vent
