Speaker 3 (06:58):
Come Cleveland understand.

Speaker 1 (07:18):
Oh yes, I believe that I really like that song
you do. You look so much better when you smile, So,
you know, let's find out what makes a friendship meaningful.
Write it down because this is the good stuff. You know,
this is the good stuff. So I want you to

(07:38):
write it down. A meaningful relationship is first, it's mutual.
There's give and take. It's safe. You feel emotionally at peace,
not on the edge. It's supportive. They cheer you on,
not compete with you. And there is transparency. The truth

(08:01):
flows both ways without fear. Proverbs seventeen and seventeen says
a friend loves at all times, and a brother is
born for a time of adversity. Now that's the kind
of connection that we're after. Friends who show up, friends
who don't disappear when you're down, and who celebrate your healing,

(08:27):
not sabotage it. So act yourself. Do I feel heard
in this relationship? Can I be myself without walking on eggshells?
Does this person honor my boundaries? These are the kinds
of questions that help you identify a healthy relationship. Now,
let me give you some tips on how to spot

(08:49):
and avoid the narcissists. By doing this, you can save
yourself a lot of emotional stress and pain. See An
says can and will appear charming, spiritual, and even helpful.
At first, this is usually the trap, so you got

(09:10):
to be very mindful of that. But over time the
pattern shows. And here are a few red flags. They
center everything around themselves. They're very selfish, okay, they belittle
your pain or invalidate your experiences. They create confusion, not clarity.

(09:33):
Love drama, yes, they love drama. They cross boundaries repeatedly,
you know, repeatedly crossing your boundaries, and they make you
feel small unless you're serving their ego. It's all about them.
So listen. Love does not manipulate, it does not gaslight,

(10:00):
and it definitely don't drain you. Now, the Bible warns
us about this in Teco Timothy three and two, and
it says people will be lovers of themselves, lover of money, boastful, proud, abusive,
having a form of goleedness, but denying its power. So,
in other words, just because someone quotes scriptures doesn't mean

(10:23):
that they carry the spirit of God. So please guard
your hearts. And the sad part about this is it
can be your family, It could be your church family,
It could be anybody, people who you wouldn't even expect.
But the good news is God will protect you now.
Avoiding the narcissists means that you learn to trust your descernment,

(10:46):
not your feelings. Not just your feelings, trust your desernment.
It means to set boundaries without guilt, to learn to
say no without over explaining yourself, and to learn to
walk away without needing closure that they would never give
you anyway. You know now, I want to shift the

(11:08):
focus and talk about healing and rebuilding. You may feel
like you've been burned too many times to trust again.
I get it, I understand, I get that, But I
do want to remind you that not everyone is out
to harm you. There are safe soul for people who
will love you. The right way to find them, you

(11:31):
must first become that friend to yourself. Learn to enjoy
your own company, speak kindly to yourself and about yourself,
don't settle for people who can't match your growth, And
above everything else, invite God into your relationships. Ask him
to reveal the real yes, the real friend, remove the

(11:55):
fake one, and restore your heart. Friendships should be a
place of rest, not recovery from drama. So let me
pray with you. Father, thank you for being that friend
who never leaves us nor forsakes us. Help us to
desern who belongs in our lives and who doesn't. Father

(12:17):
Father asks that you will heal the wounds of each
listener that was left by manipulation and control. God, surround
us with people who reflect your love and give us
courage to walk away from those who don't teach us
how to build a real friendship. In Jesus's name, I pray, Amen, listen,

(12:42):
I hope and pray that this episode has been a
blessing to you. And in my closing, I want to
encourage you, Okay, I want to encourage you. Share this
with someone you know, someone you love, and remember you're
not too much, you're not too broken, and you are

(13:05):
worthy of friendships that feel like peace. Until next time,
stay rooted, stay free, and stay whole. Be blessed.
