The title of this episode is Taste and see Finding
Hope in Psalms thirty four. So let me read this
verse one more time. Verses one through four and it says,
(08:06):
I will bless the Lord at all times. His praise
will always be on my lips. I sought the Lord
and he answered me. He delivered me from all my fears. Listen,
what a powerful, powerful truth. God hears, He answers, and
God delivers. Even when fear grips our hearts, even when
(08:30):
our souls feel shattered, He is there. David wrote the
Psalm during a very dangerous time in his life. He
was running for his life, and yet what does he
choose to do. He chooses praise, just like we should,
not because everything was perfect, but because he knew the
(08:51):
one who holds all things together. Maybe today you're not
in a place of safety. Maybe your heart is still
healing from trauma. Maybe you're trying to find your footing
after a painful loss. But here's the hope. In Psalms
thirty four, the Lord is close to the broken hearted
and saves those who are crushed in spirit. That is
(09:14):
Psalms thirty four and the eighteenth verse. You don't have
to be strong to be close to God. You don't
have to have it all together, and you don't need
to wear a mask. God sees the real you, the
weary you, the struggling you. And you know what he says.
He says, I'm near. That word close in Hebrew does
(09:37):
it just mean near in proximity. It means he wraps
you in his presence. He surrounds you with his love,
and he bends down to comfort you. And you know
I love. Verse eight, it says, taste and see that
the Lord is good. Blessed is the one who takes
(09:58):
refuge in him. Sometimes we need to, you know, a
reminder that God's goodness isn't just something to hear about.
It's something that we need to experience, like a warm
meal on a cold night, you know, or some hot
chocolate or something. His presence fills us with what our
(10:19):
souls have been longing for. Have you tasted that lately?
You know? Think about that, not just heard about it,
not just remembered it from a long time ago, but
truly rested in his presence, and let him pour peace
(10:39):
back into you. Friend. This psalm doesn't promise that life
will be easy. In fact, it says the righteous person
may have many troubles, many, not one, not too, but
many troubles. But the Lord delivers him from them all.
And that Psalms thirty for nineteen and that's real life.
(11:03):
That is real life. Paying calms. Trouble rises, but the
deliverer steps in. Oh yes he does. So today I
want to encourage you with this simple truth. God is
still good and you are still his Even when the
road is long, even when the knights feel lonely, and
even when healing takes time, he is near, He is listening,
(11:28):
and he is fighting for you. Listen. Let I want
to pray with you. Let us pray. Father. I just
thank you for your faithfulness God. I thank you for
hearing us when we call, for being near to the
broken hearted, for saving those who are crushed in spirit.
Father asks that you remind us that you are good
(11:50):
even in the storm. Help us to taste and see
once again that you are faithful, loving and kind God.
I ask that you would wrap every listener in your
perfect peace. In Jesus' name, I pray. I want to
take this time to thank you for spending time with me.
And if today's episode encourage you, share it with a
(12:12):
friend who may need to be reminded of God's closeness.
And remember, healing is a journey, but you're not walking
it alone. You are loved, You are seen, and all
you need is a healing touch. Listen until next time,
stay encouraged. Thank you for a spending time with me
