Well, Hello, everyone out there, welcome, Welcome to the hell
In Touch Podcast. I'm so glad you're here. This is
a safe place where we encourage one another to trust
God even after deep hurt. So today we're going to
talk about something we've all felt but often struggled to process,
(02:05):
and that's disappointment. Whether it's a broken promise, an unanswered prayer,
or a life event that didn't go as planned, disappointment
can leave us feeling confused, discouraged, and even abandoned. So
I want to start this one off with a prayer.
(02:26):
Dear heaven Father, we invite your presence into this moment.
Disappointment is a heavy weight to carry. Father, we ask
that you help us to release it into your hands,
teach us to find hope again in you. Father asks
that you will quiet our hearts, calm our thoughts, and
minister healing where we are hurting. In Jesus' name, I pray, Amen,
(02:51):
let's listen to this next song, and I will be
back with more about how we can just overcome disappointment.
Speaker 2 (03:01):

Speaker 3 (06:10):
Moment, we know we couldn't see you there, geezer, the
geez a cheese.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
Bos geeze. Oh yes, oh yes, I really enjoyed that
song by Zach Williams and Dolly Parton. There was Jesus,
And you know, sometimes when you're going through your disappointment,
if we could just always just remember that there is Jesus,
(06:54):
He's somewhere, you know, And so I just hope that
song really ministered to you. Now, Listen, we're talking about disappointment,
and disappointment is the gap between our expectations and reality.
Speaker 2 (07:10):
Like what we're.
Speaker 1 (07:11):
Expecting and really what we are going through at that moment.
It sneaks in quietly when the job offer doesn't come through,
when the relationship ends, when the healing doesn't happen the
way we hoped, and in those moments we begin to wonder, God,
where are you? If that's where you are today, I
(07:35):
want you to note that God sees you. He's not
distant from your pain. Psalms thirty four and eighteen says
the Lord is close to the broken hearted and saves
those who are crushed in spirit. Listen, God is not
ignoring you. He's near. Even when life feels and seems
(07:57):
so unfair, God's love for you has not changed. So
what can we do when we're disappointed? That's the question
right now? What can we do when we're disappointed? Well,
one thing that we can do is be honest with God,
because He already knows how you feel. Cry, if you
(08:18):
need to journal, if you need to, yes, journal your pain,
pour it out in prayer. You know, David often did
this in the Psalms, the Book of Psalms, And listen,
God doesn't need you to be perfect, He doesn't need perfection.
He wants your heart. Another thing is we can remember
(08:41):
what hasn't changed.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
Now.
Speaker 1 (08:43):
Disappointment shifts our view of life, but not God's promises.
It does not shift God's promises. He does not shift
his love for us, his goodness, and his faithfulness. They
all remain the same. God's love, goodness, and faithfulness remain steady.
(09:05):
So one thing you could do is anchor your heart
and what you know to still be true, and also
give yourself some grace because disappointment can trigger guilt or shame.
So don't rush your healing. Because God is patient, and
he walks with us through valleys, not around them. Okay,
(09:28):
he walks with us through the valley, not around the valley,
you know, So he's there. And look for God's hand.
Sometimes God closes one door to open another. Now, what
feels like rejection may actually be protection. And I have
(09:48):
experienced that in my life. So what feels like rejection,
it may actually be protecting you.
Speaker 2 (09:56):
You know.
Speaker 1 (09:57):
You have to trust his time, and you have to
trust God and his timing even when you don't understand
his ways. And the last thing is speak life over
your future. Declare God's word over your situation. You know,
say out loud God is working all things together for
my good faith rises when we speak what we believe,
(10:20):
not just what we feel. So you need to speak
it out what you're believing, okay, not just what you feel.
Now Listen, you may not have gotten what you hoped for,
but you are not forgotten. There's still purpose in your life.
(10:43):
God can take every broken dream and turn it into
a testimony. So I want to encourage you tonight to
just keep going because your story isn't over. Isaaeh sixty
one and three promises that God gives beauty for ashes
and all joy for morning, and a garment of praise
(11:03):
for a spirit of heaveness. Let him write something beautiful
for your disappointment. And before I go, I'm gonna say
prayer with you.
Speaker 2 (11:14):
God.
Speaker 1 (11:16):
We bring you our pain, our questions, and our disappointments.
We asked that you teach us to trust you even
when we don't understand. God, I ask that you would
wrap your love around every weary heart listening right now.
And I thank you for being our safe place as
(11:37):
we surrender our expectations and receive your peace in Jesus' name. Amen, listen,
