Speaker 1 (00:20):
What's up everybody, and welcome to a brand new episode
of the Hot Mike here on the Outlaw Nation channel.

Speaker 2 (00:26):
It's getting hot.

Speaker 1 (00:27):
It's getting hot out there. I am John Roker Rider
producer nose Terre on the Hot Mic and joined as
always by the Instider himself, Jeff Snyder.

Speaker 2 (00:34):
How are you up, hello, Johnny? Boy?

Speaker 3 (00:41):
Look at those glasses. I love it. Would you pick
those up, buddy?

Speaker 2 (00:44):
If you look closely at him? Johnny? Oh, yes, these
are Sesame Street classes.

Speaker 1 (00:50):
Oh nice?

Speaker 2 (00:51):
I represent Elmo in the house.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
I love it.

Speaker 1 (00:57):
Elmo is the best for sure? Are you this opening day? Jeff?
Are your socks and play? Are they playing right now? Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:04):
They won today? Congratulations, dear socks they won today? To
do my Yanks win?

Speaker 1 (01:09):
I think my heks. No, we won four to two.

Speaker 3 (01:11):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (01:11):
Nice. Did you do anything to celebrate opening day to day?

Speaker 4 (01:14):
No?

Speaker 2 (01:14):
Those days are over. This is not opening babe. This
is closing day for Jennifer Sunky at Amazon.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
Ll. We we're gonna get into that, you know me.

Speaker 2 (01:24):
Text I got that basically said about fucking time.

Speaker 1 (01:28):
We're gonna get into that for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:30):
Here on the Hot Mic.

Speaker 1 (01:31):
So much to dive into in the world of entertainment
from the Avengers Doomsday cast reveal too. As Jeff mentioned
the Jen Salkey situation. More on the Rachel Zegler stuff.
Producer and sons are getting involved now and all this stuff,
some trailer reactions to some to the new Paul Thomas
Anderson and Final Destination films that are out there, some
rumors about Mikey Madison stepping into lead a franchise, possibly

(01:54):
Jeff CinemaCon thoughts here is where just days away from
that thing popping off, and some other current news stories
that popped throughout the day. So we're going to talk
about all that here on the Hot micro. Remember stream
Labs super chats are open support and the show is
so important. Send it and you see the stream lab
zaditor as above Jeff's head and it's in the description
of the chat. Well, Jeff, do you want to just
jump to it? Shall we just jump into the Jen

(02:14):
Soggy story? Shall we go ahead and go through it
right now? Since you kind of teased it here.

Speaker 2 (02:19):
At Let's start with the Avengers the people.

Speaker 1 (02:21):
Oh there, I was gonna say, all right, well, let's
do it.

Speaker 3 (02:23):
Let's do this thing.

Speaker 1 (02:24):
See this guy right here, his name is Robert Downey Junior,
and he was part of the rollout yesterday for Avengers Dooms.
For the Avengers Dooms Day cast, more than one hundred
thousand people at any time was we're watching this reveal
on YouTube. Overnight it got over nine million views on
x and people were waiting up to about eight to
fifteen minutes in between these chairs being brought out. I

(02:48):
think overall it was twenty seven chairs that were brought
out to announce the cast of Avengers Doomsday.

Speaker 3 (02:55):
And this live.

Speaker 1 (02:56):
Stream went over five and a half hours. It had
a good chunk of the og X Men cast being
a part of this thing. We got Shang Chi being
a part of this thing. See we Louke coming back,
Naymard's what the Mahia came back on this.

Speaker 3 (03:09):
Leticia Wright so much.

Speaker 1 (03:11):
But no Tom Holland, no Halle Berry, no Fambaye Jansen,
no Anna Paquin, no Ryan Reynolds, no Hugh Jackman. But
there was at least Jeff at least we got Channing Tatum,
thank god, coming back to play to play gambit. So
your thoughts on this, I know you wrote about it
last night or a couple of Yeah, last night on
your on your inside a newsletter. But tell us what

(03:32):
your thoughts are about this whole rollout and did it work?

Speaker 3 (03:34):
Was it effective?

Speaker 2 (03:37):
It depends how you look at it. Okay, I thought
it was both overkill, right, a five and a half
hour press announcement and that was that? Was that? Like,
while I give Marvel credit for doing it on YouTube,
which is, yeah, you're watching these days rather than in
a movie theater for press or at cinema con for

(03:59):
theater owners. You do this fans, you meet them on
their turf. Five and a half hours seems excessive. Yes,
I don't understand the waiting twelve minutes or what the
significance is of that in between every single name. But
on the other hand, like you said, it worked right
for five and a half hours, Marvel's YouTube page was
the center of the universe.

Speaker 1 (04:19):
Yeah, yeah, people, I know Christian Harloff did a watch along.
I think you were on there, right, Jeff, did you
pop on there? Okay?

Speaker 2 (04:27):
Somebody mentioned that, you guys, I'm like in the middle
of you know, and kittling myself in the morning.

Speaker 1 (04:36):
A lot of people enjoyed it, Jeff, because there was
so many live streams, A lot of big views and
it's kind of crazy.

Speaker 3 (04:42):
Five and a half hours though, Man, that's.

Speaker 2 (04:43):
A lot the talk of the whole day, and then
of course they released the tweet and it's like a
minute forty. I think it's tough to talk about this
cast when you don't have all the information in front
of you, right like, this is a basically half the names.

Speaker 1 (05:02):
Yes, twenty seven names. It's a lot.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
I don't know if this is the main cast. I
don't know if this is the cast that they know
are there now or and are going to be there
next week right from now. I'm telling you, they don't
know who's going to be there. Okay, if they can
get Chris Pratt, Chris Pratt, you gotta find you some
lines to say, you're going to take the lines from
so and so. Okay, that's how like I'm told, the

(05:26):
script is not locked.

Speaker 1 (05:27):
What it starts shooting within days.

Speaker 2 (05:31):
First of all, they're going to deny everything upset. Now,
how many times do we hear after the fact we
didn't even have a lot of script for that. Okay.
So I when I when I say that, I mean, listen,
they know what the scenes are, they know what the
movie is. But do I think like this person is
saying this line and that's one hundred percent guaranteed. No, right, right,
it's based on availability, It's based on a whole bunch

(05:52):
of things they'll think is up in the air.

Speaker 1 (05:56):
Okay, that seems like a horrible way to go doing
this because then you're just handing lines to everybody. But
are you gonna get the overall storylines lined up for
all these characters if you don't even know who's gonna
be on set?

Speaker 2 (06:10):
Asked the question, John is like, does this twenty seven
represent the main characters if you will?

Speaker 3 (06:15):
Right?

Speaker 2 (06:16):
And then the other eighteen characters that I think are
going to be in there, right, those like cameos, do
they just show up, you know, real quick? And that
it's like, you know, we're definitely gonna be in seecret words, right,
people willing to die in this movie?

Speaker 1 (06:30):
Yeah? Right? It seems like, especially when you bring in
the og X Men from the Fox universe, I mean,
we're gonna see Patrick Stewart die again on screen, it
seems like. And they only brought a select few from
the og X Men universe. Somehow, Fraser Crane Kelsey Grammer
himself made the cut but like, but some of these
others did not, like fan Ki Janssen, Haylle Barry didn't

(06:53):
make the cut. It seems like for now, so.

Speaker 2 (06:55):
Okay, so this is another thing that we got to
talk about. Yeah, bring making the cut and like, you know, honestly,
I love Devin Faraci. He I respect that Dev. He's
on one of the few people's been who I look
up to, and I think he's one of the best
writers to ever ever do it. Yes, I listened to
his podcast last night with his brother, which is good.

(07:16):
Should you should all check it out. I think it's
the Marvel Pod. I forget what it's called. It was
my first time listener, to be honest, but they kept
talking about like, oh, this guy is going to be
back because they want to be back, like Mark Ruffalo
wants to be in more Marvel movies and Dave Batista's
definitely not back because he wants to be out. It's like,
it's not about who wants to be in who doesn't
want to be in. It's also about money, as most

(07:39):
things on As I told you that The Fantastic Four
could have been totally different if Marvel was going to
spend Robert Downey Junior money on these people.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Right right?

Speaker 2 (07:47):
You know they they took the if you will bargain
version of the Fantastic Four, I believe because but that's
because they need these people to now show up in
every little thing. Now it's going to be underbolts. Who
are the new Avengers? It seems like that's what the
asterisk is.

Speaker 1 (08:07):
Okay, good reveal there, all right? But will they be
the dark But see, this is where we go a
little too deep for you. Is it Dark Avengers or Avengers?

Speaker 2 (08:16):
Yeah? So a new crop of Avengers and then you've
got the Fantastic Four and they're going to be populating
all these other, you know, different movies. Now, so I
understand that you can't get like Amistone and Margaret Robbie
to just like show up whenever we snap our fingers.
Vanessa Herby, it might be a little bit easier. No,
you know, I'll do respect. Now, Where's I going with this?

(08:39):
What were we talking about?

Speaker 1 (08:40):
I was just saying how like, uh, some of them
showed up, some.

Speaker 2 (08:43):
Of the money got money and about availability. Right, So
it's like, well, why we're spider Man, spider Man, spider Man. Okay, Well,
Tom Holland is going to cost a lot more Like,
why do we need to spend that money on this?
We've already spent fifty million alone on Downy right right right, right,
right right, and you you just saw twenty six other
people announced. Plus you've got huge VFX on this. I mean,

(09:05):
these movies, there's a real fear that they're not gonna
do what they used to do.

Speaker 3 (09:10):
Yeah, you've already.

Speaker 2 (09:11):
Seen things scaling down. Yeah, this is like, even though
this is a clear win if it grosses a billion
dollars right right, or you know one point two to
one point four two billion, is where you know everyone
thinks it needs to be or to a disappointment. Yeah, right,
that's like the new normal for anything with Avengers in
the title. And and that's a lot of pressure because

(09:32):
the marketplace is different, right.

Speaker 1 (09:34):
Yeah, we've seen what so many franchises underperform. The most
recent Mission Impossible film underperformed, the most recent Fast and
Furious film underperformed. Star Wars certainly had a rough time
both TV and on screen. So it's like, you see
this happening with a lot of these franchise and who
knows how people are going to react to Superman once
it comes out.

Speaker 3 (09:53):
So there's a lot of a.

Speaker 1 (09:55):
Lot of I think there's a lot of people like
waiting to see, like are you really gonna impress me?
And I think the people like we're saying, well, see,
there's no superhero exhaustion because seven million people watch this
or nine million people watch this has got nothing to
do with anything. Because just because people could watch something
from the convenience of their home sitting on their ass
or at work sitting on their ass with a screen

(10:17):
on their phone, it does not mean necessary that those
are going to translate to ticket buyers to go see
the film if the film's not doesn't seem like the
trailers are great, or the or the reviews aren't that great.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
So two hours ago, the Final Destination bloodlines as the
second most viewed horror trailer of all time. Do we
think that I can take this horror movie of all time?

Speaker 3 (10:34):
You guys tell me exactly.

Speaker 1 (10:36):
Yeah, there's a.

Speaker 2 (10:38):
Correlation between these things. But now I'm not saying I'm
right than I have all the answers. Sure, I'm not
privy to that cast list. And now I know fucking
Tom Holland will be able to swing by Yeah, I'm
told that he you know, obviously he's busy, he's filming
Nolan's movie. Then he has to go into his own movie.

Speaker 5 (10:58):
Right right, you know, like I just uh, I'm told
that Spider Man for is like basically taking place at
the same time, like simultaneously concurrently, you know, alongside Doomsday,
and that's that would explain his absence.

Speaker 1 (11:14):
Yeah, some people said it saw some people on social
media say it was a fail that you're not gonna
have Tom Holland see RDJ for the first time as
Doctor Newman Doomsday. But I think more people are gonna
want to see Secret Wars than Doomsday, so you want
to save that moment for Secret Wars instead of Doomsday.
And as you said, if the Spider Man movie is
running at the same time as Doomsday in terms of

(11:35):
the timeline of the MCU, then it doesn't make sense
for them for him to show up in Doomsday, and
you want to save him for Secret Wars.

Speaker 2 (11:43):
You know, completely agree, right, But yeah, I saw a
lot of people though, just like talking about why isn't
this person and why isn't that person? Well, again, it's
about availability and money. Is this person worth it?

Speaker 1 (11:58):
Right?

Speaker 2 (11:58):
Righte Larson. Doesn't matter what's going on with her career whatever,
She's still an Oscar winner. Yes, to pay for that premium?
Is it? Is it worth it?

Speaker 1 (12:06):
You know?

Speaker 2 (12:07):
Are we getting Bree Larson for a second? Obviously she's
one of the main twenty seven You know, there was
a lot of complaints about the male female ratio these movies.
Guys are like four or five or six men and
then one or two women. So yeah, when you cram
them all together, you wind up with twenty two to
twenty five men and four or five women. That's like,

(12:27):
that's what happens when you literally take every single Yeah, mushum.

Speaker 1 (12:32):
Yeah, it'd be different if they started out with female
heavy casts from the beginning or whatever. It took a
while for Marvel to realize that and kind of balance
the scale. So you're out there, and as you said,
all the characters have probably been announced yet, so there
may be more women showing up in Doomsday or whatever,
so that complaint can go right out the window. It's
just not I saw so many people tweeting it's the

(12:53):
full cast. I was like, it's not the full fucking cast,
you know, it's not. And sure enough, rardy Ja not
even an hour later said all boy, that's a deep bench,
and Marvel's like, we get add a few more nuck nucks,
So you know there's gonna be more announcement that's coming,
more cast people coming to be a part of it.
But what you say makes me because I wondered why
they didn't announce them. But what you say now that

(13:13):
they don't know what's locked, they don't know what deals
they have with anybody yet, that this is why they
did this. They did the twenty seven aget people excited,
but then they're going to keep adding on as contracts
get locked, then they'll be able to announce more names
coming on to the cast of Doomsday, so they kind
of yeah, it's an interesting decision. But what did you
think of them doing this now, Jeff, because like two

(13:35):
episodes of Daredevil Born Again dropped the night before, they've
been taking it on the chin for Captain America, Brave
New World. Do you think this was an attempt for
them to kind of turn back some of the negative
conversations that happening around Marvel over the last few weeks
and just own it for a day. And now everyone's
talking about it, including us, and getting excited about it.

Speaker 2 (13:56):
Again, the Faranci brothers did a good job in pointing
out like they they're probably doing this to get ahead of.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
Yeah, you know, the all.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
Kinds of leaks, because if these people, if it's in production,
it's gonna be on set. People are gonna see them
right right, and you know that's the last thing that
they need is our photos being leaked from the set
and giving all these you know, reviews. So I think
this is actually a pretty savvy play by Marvel in
terms of we're gonna announce everybody at once. It was
a clever way to do it, even if it was

(14:27):
annoying to us movie bloggers.

Speaker 1 (14:30):
Yeah, so yeah, surprises for you, Like was nay Moor
a surprise was the fact that they announced the entire
Thunderbolts cast, basically saying everyone's gonna live out of the
movie that's coming up here in the next couple of
the next few weeks. Rather, is there anything here that
you felt was a bit like they kneecapped their own
movie or anything like that.

Speaker 2 (14:51):
Some people felt it was that right. Yeah, but here's
the thing, and again, this is my first time listening
to Devin and his brother talking and they were like
the Kelsey others of movies. Okay, these guys, to their credit,
I'm telling you, I love Devin. They they were saying, John, fuck,

(15:12):
what were we just?

Speaker 1 (15:14):
Oh my god, we're talking about people being upset that
Thunderbolts might have the ending might have been spoiled because
they're all gonna live.

Speaker 2 (15:22):
It gets people to see Thunderbolts. Sorry, that's what it is.
It gets people to see Thunderbolts that if they're nervous
about Thunderbolts opening. John Yeah, and it's like, well, let's
just tell them right now up front, it's connected. They're
all in Avengers. That gets more people in the door
to say, oh, who are these characters that are now
going to play a major role in my favorite franchise.

(15:43):
So again a savvy play by Marvel here. You got
to think about it on different levels. And I'm sorry
if I if I brain farted, I don't know. I
don't like keep notes and maybe I should like write
this shit down. But yeah, sometimes, oh no, you have made.

Speaker 1 (15:58):
For that apparently. But what are you think about the
og X men coming back? What's the logic behind that?
Do you think that's a little a step too far? Kelsey,
I know was at the end of the Marbles.

Speaker 3 (16:10):
I think, tell me about this.

Speaker 2 (16:12):
Why are we still dealing with these characters twenty years later?

Speaker 1 (16:15):
It's weird.

Speaker 2 (16:16):
Everybody said goodbye to these characters after the Last Stand
in two thousand and six, right, like we were ready
to leave these people behind. Yeah, it wasn't a good movie, right,
Everyone's Blue Mystique, Nightcrawler, Beast, everybody. Yeah, the fucking Smurfs
of the X Men out there. I don't know why

(16:37):
you'd bring any of these people back if you're not
bringing back you Jackman as Wolverine, which I'm sure will
be happening, and he's just not part of the twenty
person announcement. I know how things work in Hollywood, Yes,
you know that, right.

Speaker 1 (16:48):
Like no one wants to be That's why they brought
RDJ in at the end, because they're like r d
J and everybody else.

Speaker 2 (16:55):
Yeah, yeah, exactly. I mean every every photo it's not
of the chair as it's a Robert Towny junr so.
But I think that these people are going to be
not in the movie very for very long.

Speaker 1 (17:12):
You know.

Speaker 2 (17:13):
I feel like, didn't we talk about this, didn't weren't
you the one to sort of say, like that you'd
heard that it was going to be the Condon's fantastic
for X Men and the Evengers.

Speaker 3 (17:24):
Yeah, being all part of it.

Speaker 1 (17:25):
That's why it wasn't surprised by any of these except
I think nay Moore was the only big surprise I had.

Speaker 3 (17:31):
SIMI lu had to come.

Speaker 1 (17:32):
Back for God's sakes, because they've they've screwed him over
so hard.

Speaker 2 (17:37):
They both had to come back because they represent giant communities.
And that's I guess. There's Danny Ramirez, but no, it's not.

Speaker 1 (17:46):
Not the same as naymore nowhere near, I agree, But
I but I.

Speaker 3 (17:51):
Did like that.

Speaker 1 (17:51):
I mean I did like that you got those guys
to come back and be a part of That was
my biggest surprise. But you know, when you talk here,
as you're talking right now, and I look at the
cast list, some of these are about timing. Anthony Mackie
Sebastian stands certainly because of what's just happened here. But
you got Paul Rudd, You've got Wyatt Russell, you got
all these other these are like I'm not saying they're
not A listers, but they're certainly not like RDI J

(18:14):
or the Big Nay or Tom Holland and everything. So
these are more people who are at a certain level,
and so this is fun to roll them out in
the way that you're rolling them out and pull the
chairs out. I did find it annoying. I did find
it really. I know they played the theme song for
each person's thing after they announced them these person's movie
after they announced them, But for me, this felt very

(18:35):
laborious and supremely unnecessary.

Speaker 3 (18:39):
And yes, you owned the day.

Speaker 1 (18:40):
I saw someone call it ambitious, and I'm like, what's
ambitious about walking out director's chairs every eight to fifteen minutes.
It's nothing ambitious about that. It's just you know, you
wanted to fuck with the audience, have them waiting with
baited breath. But these are the kind of stunts, Jeff,
that if the movie comes out and it's not good,
is a big fu.

Speaker 3 (19:01):
To think about later on.

Speaker 1 (19:03):
What's right? You need to switch glasses?

Speaker 2 (19:06):
I like these.

Speaker 1 (19:07):
I think you took one one too many just before
you came on. I'm just gonna say that right now.
I think you took one too many, went across that line,
as you tend to do. And now we've got to
wield your back in, dude. Yeah, let's see what else? Okay,
do you Okay? So, at the end of the day, though,
coming out of this, has Marvel succeeded in what they

(19:29):
were attempting to do by owning the news cycle and
getting people talking about this stuff. Because also there were
rumors that Kevin Feigey was nervous about the Russo brothers
and that he was going to be more hands on
than ever. The Electric State absolutely ate a fart when
it came out here and was destroyed.

Speaker 2 (19:46):
So is this I refuse to believe these X Men
rumors because like, oh, those are like I keep hearing
that the Russos could end up doing X Men, and
it's like, are we giving them like just all of
these giant movies. I don't I can't believe it.

Speaker 3 (20:03):
Yeah, yeah, I can't believe it.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
After the Electric.

Speaker 1 (20:07):
State, I think I would think twice about everything and
see how Doomsday comes out, and then see how War
Secret Wars comes out.

Speaker 2 (20:14):
Right, I don't know if they can wait another year
to have a director on X Men again. You were
even talking about remember this exp's supposed to come out
quicker than everybody's expected.

Speaker 1 (20:26):
Yeah, And Are they gonna have the X Men move?
Are they gonna have the X Men show up in
Secret Wars? Will some of the og X Men survive
from Doomsday in the Secret Wars? Will there be a
passing of the torch? Will there be little winks and nods?
Because I mean, it did pull a Wolverine. It did
get a little bit frustrating when they're all fighting in
that fight near the end and you're just like, all right, well,
I don't know what's going You've done nothing to build

(20:48):
up all these villains that we've seen in the previous
X Men movies, and if this is what's gonna happen,
that you've got to do all the homework before you
walk in so that when they give you, when they
give you your character for thirty seconds, you're the one is
the viewer bringing in all the nostalgia and history.

Speaker 3 (21:02):
Of that character, so you buy the line and you
move on.

Speaker 1 (21:05):
These are the concerns I have with the way they're
setting it up because it's a massive cast. I thought
Doomsday was only going to be like fifteen to twenty people,
but we're talking about twenty seven and twenty seven plus. Clearly,
from what Downey Junior or Marvel were indicating.

Speaker 2 (21:18):
So it's a lot I'm looking at it right now.

Speaker 6 (21:22):
Yeah, yeah, one second, yeah, okay, there's okay, I almost
said something, but I was in correct.

Speaker 2 (21:31):
Well, you know, listen, it's good to see the Wakandon's
involved as well.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
I agree.

Speaker 2 (21:36):
Yeah, you know that's an important corner of this universe.

Speaker 1 (21:40):
Do we get to chall or to Chaka or whoever
is going to replace Black Panther in this situation?

Speaker 2 (21:46):
I think so?

Speaker 1 (21:47):
Yeah? Yeah. Do you think do you think Doomsday are
Secret Wars?

Speaker 2 (21:53):
I have no idea. I mean, listen, is there any
distinction at this point?

Speaker 1 (21:58):
Yes, Doomsday is the Infinity War two, Secret Wars is Endgame.
You've got to lay the groundwork for everything in Infinity
War or in a in a Doomsday which is probably
gonna end on a bummer, just like Infinity Ward, so that,
you you know, make people feel good coming out of
Endgame or Secret Wars as they did.

Speaker 2 (22:16):
With name based on the timing. Okay, I would say,
I would say it suggests yes, I think that you
probably will.

Speaker 4 (22:26):
Ye.

Speaker 2 (22:27):
It's been helpfully clarified for me that I'm not talking
about uh or excuse me, it's not to Challa one.
It's to Challa two that they're they're casting the Sun right, Okay,
they're casting the new Black Panther. Already sort of intimated

(22:48):
who it you know was going to be right. They
made an offer to an actor who is now a
superhero elsewhere. Uh, and there will be a lot on
that person's shoulders, so listen. I think the Avengers, I
think Doomsday is like definitely on the right track. Robert

(23:11):
Downey Junior is really all you need. I don't think
you need Spider Man. I think you know there's going
to be a lot more people revealed, so everybody needs
to like chill and.

Speaker 3 (23:20):
Yeah, there'll be time, they'll be time.

Speaker 1 (23:23):
I don't usually read the super chats early, but we
got to read this. We'll let me, Ward says, Jeff.
Do you realize that you're a gay icon high from
your lgbt U I community.

Speaker 2 (23:30):
Jeff, you no, I have heard that, but uh, I'm
honored and flattered.

Speaker 3 (23:35):
Thank you.

Speaker 2 (23:36):
I LGBTQ brothers and sisters.

Speaker 1 (23:39):
There you go. If only you could have swung, if
only you could swing that way, there you'd be set
up for life. I feel like, all right, anything more
to say on this anything more you want to cover
on Marvel any Marvel news nuggets, tidbits, scream what have
you got?

Speaker 2 (23:55):
So? Like I said in the newsletter last night, did
you read it?

Speaker 1 (23:59):
Yes, yes, of.

Speaker 2 (24:00):
Course, So what have we not talked about? If you
read it?

Speaker 1 (24:03):
Oh? Christ uh there was so much you put.

Speaker 3 (24:07):
There was a lot of it because you were a
little late doing it.

Speaker 2 (24:10):
I didn't read it. I read it. It was about Blade,
all right?

Speaker 1 (24:15):
Yes? Oh sorry, yes, yes, Blade, Yes, you're that Carrie
was possibly and we're.

Speaker 2 (24:22):
Talking about Sorry you do your thing?

Speaker 1 (24:25):
No, no, go ahead, but go ahead ahead, carry it's
your story, go ahead. Yeah.

Speaker 2 (24:28):
I had heard, I've heard that that Blade had a
director last year, and I was trying to get it
out of my sources and nobody would tell me, and
I dropped it. In fact, I think, I so I
I sometimes play a game with sources and I respect
the rules of the game, and this frustrates the hell

(24:50):
out of Jamie, who I often bounce ideas off of. Right,
But like I, I, you know, I play a game
with sources and I'll say, okay, give me a hint,
and I get like three guesses. If I can't get
it into three guesses, I don't get it. Oh wow,
ask them for the end. It's like no, you have
to wait, like you're in time out. So you know,
normally I guess like a couple names a month for

(25:13):
the Blade director and based on like one hint, and
I kept missing, so I didn't get it. And then
you know, this week I finally heard that it was
in fact going to be Kerrie Fukanaga, who nearly directed
a maherschela Ali movie, right Blackout, this Blackout seventy seven
movie with Tom Hardy or whatever. So it was like

(25:33):
kind of right there under my nose the whole time.
They actually haven't worked together before, which which surprised me.
They both worked on True Detective but separate seasons, right,
and so anyways, but like Fukanaga is famously a little difficult.

Speaker 3 (25:46):
Right what you said in your newsletter, which I read.

Speaker 2 (25:49):
It right, The IT movies he fell off of. I
don't think that the Bond movie was, you know, very easy.
I don't think Master Here, you know, was terribly easy.
So I mean he's a great director, right, and he
does these big things coming out of like Indieland too,
but it didn't work out for whatever reason, I'm Blade

(26:10):
and now it has a new director. I'm told right,
and looking at the evidence world of Reel broke this story.
I don't know who broke Like they ran a story
like at the top of the month about Chad Staholski
possibly directing Blade, and I think that might be right.

Speaker 1 (26:30):
Yeah, it seems like that's I mean, we talked about
it on the show, and I think we were both
in the camp of why not.

Speaker 3 (26:36):
This is a great idea.

Speaker 1 (26:38):
The man has experience, the man can land the plane
on these franchises, and it can add that mainstream interest,
pop culture, mainstream interest that you want to get for
something like this at this point after six years since
the announcement, So Chad Staowski doing this makes up this
is better than David Leech.

Speaker 3 (26:59):
Like if you don't David let but.

Speaker 1 (27:02):
You're here Staholski and you're like, you know what, I think,
I'm on board.

Speaker 2 (27:05):
You know, this is definitely better than Leach again, who
can still deliver heal of an action sequce. But Staholski
has been more consistent to me. He is part of
I mean, the John Wick franchise is really his baby, obviously,
and he was also there for a matrix. So, uh yeah,

(27:25):
I think he's a cool choice if it winds up
being him and I and I like that it didn't
you know, it's something I like this, but it's like
it didn't need to be a person of color.

Speaker 3 (27:35):
Right right right.

Speaker 2 (27:37):
I sometimes think that studios and executives forced that issue
a little too much instead of just hiring the best
person for the job. And that goes both I mean,
it's hard to say that goes both ways, but like
that's what it should be regardless.

Speaker 1 (27:50):
Yeah, I'm thinking of the episode of the Studio that
we watched a couple of days ago where they dealt
with that. I'm not going to ruin anything, but that
was incredible. It was InCred.

Speaker 2 (28:01):
Accurate, Like, and that's the genius of that show. John,
how many have you seen?

Speaker 3 (28:06):
We're up to seven.

Speaker 1 (28:06):
We're going to finish the last three tonight because we
ripped through adolescence last night, all.

Speaker 3 (28:12):
Four episodes last night. Holy god, what a show man.

Speaker 1 (28:16):
And so we had oh yeah, of course, and late
the Lady Outlaw cries and she never cries, it never cries.

Speaker 3 (28:24):
And sheried.

Speaker 2 (28:26):
It got me the second time, even though I watched it.

Speaker 1 (28:29):
Wow, Jesus Christ you could sit through that a second time.

Speaker 2 (28:33):
It is shattering, and it's gonna win all.

Speaker 1 (28:36):
The enemies probably how it's gonna be the baby Reindeer
of this year for sure.

Speaker 2 (28:41):
For sure find the studio tailing off a little in
later episodes or not?

Speaker 1 (28:45):
Yeah, I mean, look, we're at episode seven, so we
haven't done eight nine and ten. If eight nine and
ten or not, because there's a the episode of a
certain benefit. I thought that was an awesome episode, and
I was cheering for him like crazy, even though I
probably was wrong to cheer for him like and then
they and then we saw the one that has to
do with hiring a person of color and what that

(29:08):
means and all of that stuff.

Speaker 3 (29:09):
So I liked both of those episodes.

Speaker 1 (29:11):
So maybe eight nine and ten are going to be
a little bit not as strong, but we'll see.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
A hit show, like a breakout show for Affle the
way that Ted Lasso or Severances or do you think
this is really just limited to the industry.

Speaker 1 (29:23):
It's so inside baseball and people have such hate for
the industry. I mean, it could break out because you know,
it's Seth Rogan, who's been a favorite of so many
people who are mainstream watchers of things. But I don't know.
Look at the first I haven't heard much buzz today
at all about it, and it came out last night, right,
so the first two episodes, but there hasn't been that

(29:45):
much buzz around it. Reviews are out there and stuff,
but I have heard people going crazy about.

Speaker 3 (29:49):
It, you know.

Speaker 1 (29:50):
I mean, the Marvel thing has just kind of consumed
everything like Galactus, and not much else has been breaking through.
So maybe as it goes along and people discover it,
like the bord of mouth builds, then halfway through the season,
people are like now talking about it and going crazy
about it.

Speaker 3 (30:06):
But it's a busy about it.

Speaker 2 (30:08):
I'm not able to watch it, you know, at least.
I mean, most people who know me at least have
some idea of what I do and and that kind
of thing, right, so they may appreciate it, But I
just think it's the average person to me. Like it's
like someone said, like it's like Entourage without the boobs. Yeah,

(30:31):
where's like the sex and and and it's like, yeah,
it's more about the drugs, more about the drugs than
the six I guess, as we'll soon find out.

Speaker 1 (30:41):
Jmb's right here, lady Ella's tough as nails, probably makes
fun of Roka when he gets emotional movies. First of all,
she doesn't go to movies, so she doesn't even But
when we watch shows that I get emotional or watch it,
she's she's like she'll sometimes, she'll scoff sometimes, but when
she is authentic, she'll reach out hold my hand. But
if she but if she thinks it's bullshit, she will
call me out jamb So good call there? Or what

(31:03):
do you got?

Speaker 3 (31:03):
What is this a design? What is this? What are
you messing with?

Speaker 2 (31:06):
Oh?

Speaker 1 (31:06):
No, you've got a bunch of Look at this guy.
You need to get a rack that you can spin
around and grab. All right? Anything more on this man?
Or we do we do anything more on the blade
situation or anything else?

Speaker 3 (31:20):
Marble wise?

Speaker 1 (31:21):
Do you want to come?

Speaker 2 (31:22):
I don't think so. I mean, you know, there was
a little bit of DC stuff in there, you know. Yeah,
Case I heard is getting a pretty heavy rewrite, which
is surprising. But it sounds like Colin is, in fact
Sergeant Rock. It sounds like Luca's meeting with other people,
and you know, for the other roles, not other people,

(31:42):
for Sergeant Rock. Other roles and you don't really meet
the other people for other roles unless you've got your
sergeant rock.

Speaker 3 (31:49):
So I feel like there's two ways to look at it.

Speaker 1 (31:51):
One Either James Gun and Matt Reeves really do get
along so well that Matt Reeves is.

Speaker 3 (31:57):
Like, absolutely, you got to work with Colin. Colin is
so great.

Speaker 1 (32:01):
Or James Gun big brotherdom and and said I'm gonna
take your guy and put him in my stuff because
you're not going to have your.

Speaker 3 (32:10):
Guy for much longer in your universe.

Speaker 1 (32:12):
I feel like those are the two ways you have
to look at this situation. And I wonder how Colin
feels about it. Was Colin like, I don't want to
choose between mom and dad. Just I'm gonna go work
with Dad now and eventually maybe I'll come back to Mom.
I don't know, but you know, it's an interesting decision
to pick from the plate, the plate you've already eaten from.

Speaker 2 (32:31):
It's well, okay, I while we're talking about d C,
I mean, is there anything DC related that we need
to talk about?

Speaker 1 (32:40):
I mean, is there anything Superman related, James gunn related.
I don't have anything on the rundown for DC, but
you want to bring up.

Speaker 2 (32:48):
I needed to bring up the dream, the.

Speaker 1 (32:50):
Dream, your dream, Yeah, okay, go ahead, you had a
dream about DC. Go ahead?

Speaker 3 (32:57):
Oh god, oh my god.

Speaker 2 (33:01):
You know I think I talked about detoxing. Yeah, I
hit the full week. I made it, Yes, seven full
days on marijuana, and when you stop smoking marijuana, all
of a sudden, you dream. And I had very very

(33:21):
vivid dreams last week and it was pretty wide. And
James Gunn came.

Speaker 4 (33:27):
To me in a dream and he said, Jeff L,
please do not reveal the identity any major cameos in
Superman Wow, appreciate And this week I found out one
of those major cameos, the most majorius cameo of the

(33:49):
mall uh and I have agreed in that dream, like
you know, I just had to listen to it. Yeah,
not going to say anything about that. James Gunn has
worked too hard and come too far for me to
blow it at this stage, and so I won't be

(34:12):
party to it.

Speaker 2 (34:13):
Now. To me, I take this fucking music. Okay, to me,
there's a big giant come back.

Speaker 1 (34:25):
I'm coming back now, coming back now.

Speaker 2 (34:29):
There is a difference, okay, between reporting, yes and spoiling. Okay, Okay,
if I had found out this cameo a few months ago,
I probably would have reported it at this point where
it's now screaming.

Speaker 1 (34:49):
Wait first, why would you have reported it a couple
of months.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
I'm going to tell you at this point, with the
movie screening, James Gunn is won. He's made it to
the finish line. Okay in my book, see this, Like,
I know everyone thinks I'm a piece of shit, but
I actually have a code of honor, a code of
ethics that I play by. I'm a man of my word, sir,

(35:14):
the movie is screening, or you know, like if the
screeners came out right for a show and I wasn't
even watching the screeners or didn't have access as screeners,
but I heard about it, right, that's a spoiler at
that point if you just shit. And I feel like
at this point this cameo would be a spoiler. Yeah,

(35:35):
And I'm not here to spoil movies or ruin your enjoyment. So,
James Gunn, you came to me in a dream. You win.
And I will not say jack shit about this cameo
other than to say I like it. Good job.

Speaker 1 (35:51):
What was he wearing? Do you remember? What did he sound? Like,
did he sound like James Gunn?

Speaker 2 (35:57):
Yes, he had just that that shock of white hair
and black glasses and you just knew instantly who it was. Wow,
he had beautiful white chest hair.

Speaker 1 (36:07):
That makes sense that you can run your hands through.
You know, No surprise, no surprise at all. So you're
gonna have to wait. People. He's not gonna spoil what
he knows about the Superman movie in terms of a cameo,
So you're gonna have to wait until maybe later on
in the process, maybe when DC pisses him off or
James Gunn pisses him off.

Speaker 2 (36:28):
No, listen, listen, there are things I don't report.

Speaker 1 (36:33):
Yeah, that's true. That's true.

Speaker 2 (36:35):
You've told me plenty of stuff I don't report. I
do recognize that there's a line. Now, that the line
is different for the studios and the agencies. They think
I crossed the line every fucking.

Speaker 3 (36:46):
Day because they can't control it.

Speaker 2 (36:48):
A pretty fair sense of decorum, right right.

Speaker 3 (36:52):
Fair point?

Speaker 1 (36:53):
All right? Now, shall we move on to the Jensaki story?

Speaker 2 (36:56):
Now?

Speaker 1 (36:56):
Are you ready?

Speaker 3 (36:57):
Do you want to move on to something else we
can talk about you? Okay, let's do this.

Speaker 1 (37:00):
Jen Salke, she has stepped down this is kind of surprising.
She's the head of Amazon MGM Studios. She has stepping
down from her role and we'll focus on starting a
new production entity on the lot. Prime Video head Mike
Hopkins said in an internal memo sent to staff and
obtained by Indie Wire, that'she I'm getting this from. Sauke
has been the primary voice at Amazon MGM since twenty eighteen,

(37:24):
has been and she's been behind the development and acquisition
of shows like Mister Missus, Smith Salper and The Rings
of Power, Fall out Reach, a Red One, and many more.
No successor has been named Jeff, but Hopkins said, We've
decided to flatten our leadership structure a bit, with Head
of TV Vernon Sanders and Head of TV Courtney Valenti
now reporting to him. We felt this was the best

(37:45):
direction for our studio, which will now operate as a
distinct film and television studio. This has been such an
interesting journey for Amazon Prime, Prime mg Amazon MGM, whatever
they call themselves now, because I remember being a collider
when Sauki got the job, and this was an indication
that they wanted to move away from like Oscar Fair

(38:07):
and they wanted to move to more popular, mainstream type
of content here. But now she's stepping down six hours,
seven years later. What are your thoughts about this? What
are your feelings on this?

Speaker 2 (38:20):
I mean, this was inevitable and went on far too long.
Why listen? Like any other studio executive, Jen Salke made
some good movies, Jen Salke made some bad movies. But
at the end of the day, where did Jen Salk
come from?

Speaker 3 (38:38):
Oh god, I don't remember where.

Speaker 2 (38:40):
You don't remember because she came from a place called television.

Speaker 3 (38:44):
Ah, that's right.

Speaker 2 (38:46):
She's not a film person. I have a not film
person running a film studio. That's not really how it works.
I have a better sense of how to run a
film studio than out. So this was a long time coming.
They're not even like I love that. They're I mean,

(39:08):
pretty big slap in the face. I think from from
Mike Hopkins here, they're not even replacing her. They're just
eliminating position. They're like, we don't even like what do
you do here? We don't even need you. It was bad.

Speaker 1 (39:20):
This is almost like doge. They're like like, we don't
even we don't even need the position anymore.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
We're getting rid of the whole thing.

Speaker 2 (39:26):
Yeah, it's basically like, well, we have Corney Valente, of
real pro from Warner Brothers, and we have Sue Kroll,
a real marketing pro from Warner Brothers, who's going to
help to sell the movies. And so if we have
somebody making the movies and somebody selling the movies, we
have Bernie Sanders doing television, why do we need a
boss besides me Mike Hopkins?

Speaker 3 (39:46):
Right, So, what do you think was the final straw here?

Speaker 1 (39:50):
And why is she? Do you think why is she
staying on as an on the set on the lot
they are to do basically have an in house production situation.
Do you think that's just the smooth the waters and
what have you? What do you think they went that
route with her? And why do you think she agreed
to her?

Speaker 2 (40:05):
It's the golden parachute. This is what you do if
you're Jen Salki. It's like, yo, I just gave you
seven of my best years as an executive, like I
took certainly took Amazon to another level as far as
like the types of movies that it makes and the
people that it works with. Unquestionably, right, got to give
Jen Salki credit where it's due.

Speaker 1 (40:24):
Right.

Speaker 2 (40:25):
She took out her nuts and slapped him on the
table and got Lord of the Rings, didn't she?

Speaker 3 (40:29):
Yes, she did with Rings of Power.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
Yeah, absolutely did this bond deal not just happen on
her watch? You gotta give Jen Salki credit, right, she
just like you have to give any Pascal credit, because
why is spider Man? Why are we even talking about
Spider Man and Avengers at all? Yeah, any fucking Pascal, right, right,
So she's gonna get the Any Pascal Golden Parachute deal,

(40:52):
and she's fucking earned it, and she'll be making movies
there for years to come, I'm sure, just like Kathleen
Kennedy is gonna be making producing the Stone movies after
in August.

Speaker 1 (41:03):
Yeah, some of the things she was responsible for, mister
and Missus Smith, Saltburn, Rings of Powis. We mentioned Fallout,
which a lot of people loved Reacher, which Jeff and
I both love Red One, and many more things happen
under her watch.

Speaker 3 (41:14):
So yeah, it's a great point.

Speaker 1 (41:16):
What do you think this indicates, though, Like you said,
it was a long time coming. When did you sense
that this was When was the right time for them
to have made this move? Like two years ago, three
years ago, a year ago.

Speaker 3 (41:28):
What do you think?

Speaker 2 (41:31):
I think it was probably last year on the heels
of Red one you used that as the cover.

Speaker 3 (41:35):
Yeah, how terrible that that came out. Yeah, it's a
great point.

Speaker 2 (41:40):
We can't have this, But then who knows if the
Bond thing happens.

Speaker 3 (41:44):
Oh yeah, good point.

Speaker 2 (41:47):
Maybe they they said her, they used her right as
the beat right, they sent her out there, and they
were like, Jennifer sal Can, just be yourself and eventually
Barbara Broccoli will get so fed up of having to
deal with you, James Bond for a billion dollars. It's
a maniacal plan from the Man's richest World, Jeff Bezos,

(42:10):
from the World's Richest Man. Let you say the man's
richest world, the world's richest.

Speaker 3 (42:14):
Man the world.

Speaker 1 (42:19):
Well, speaking of Amazon, MGM, I mean, we've we've got
anything more to say on the Sauky situation.

Speaker 3 (42:25):
What do you anticipate her.

Speaker 2 (42:26):
I just said it in a way that eight thousand
other analysts and reporters are going to try to say it,
and I wouldn't say it better than I just fucking did.

Speaker 3 (42:35):
At fair point.

Speaker 1 (42:37):
But speaking of Amazon, MGM, Jeff, this this was announced
a few days ago as well that Amy Pascal you mentioned.
Amy Pascal and David Hayman are taken over at producing
the James Bond movie. The articles make it really.

Speaker 2 (42:52):
Clear to play James Bond.

Speaker 1 (42:53):
Go back to that photo, Yeah Hayman, Yeah, look at him.
She could be m oh yeah, she could be m
But your thoughts here, Jeff, I mean those two taken over,
two very seasoned pros executives with a lot of veteran
experience with franchises, one British, one American.

Speaker 3 (43:13):
Your thoughts?

Speaker 1 (43:14):
Does this make sense? But they're only doing the next movie.

Speaker 2 (43:17):
There is no they're taking over Boris get the herderboard
and made that crystal clear. Yeah, the one deal as
it should be. It's like, why are we just handing over,
you know, a whole universe where if we don't like
what they do right off the bat, Now we have
to pay these people off too in order to get
them off the TV shows and all that shit. So
it's just like, hey, let's make one focus on making
one movie, yeah, and then we'll take it. We can

(43:40):
you know, decide where to go from there based on
how it doesn't everything.

Speaker 1 (43:45):
So basically you're saying if the movie is not good,
they're gonna be like, oh, and then we'll get a
new James Bond or where they keep that James Bond
and just hire new producers in new directions.

Speaker 2 (43:54):
They could just say, all right, we're not you know,
James Bond movies are on hold for a little while.
We're gonna focus on TV shows or something. Who knows,
I mean, I have no idea what they're thinking. It's interesting.
Movie being bad? Has ever stopped a studio froming the
sequel before?

Speaker 1 (44:09):
Uh?

Speaker 3 (44:13):
Recently?

Speaker 1 (44:13):
There's something, but I can't think of it right now.
There certainly won't be a snow White sequel. I'll tell
you that right now. The certainly won't be nothing.

Speaker 2 (44:20):
Whether you know, and I'll be asking this soon. I'm
sure it are these other live action movies that're gonna
go forward.

Speaker 3 (44:30):
It's a good question.

Speaker 1 (44:31):
It's a good question, all right, anything more on this
any more? You want to say? On that one?

Speaker 3 (44:36):
Do you expect anything to expect?

Speaker 1 (44:38):
And well, let's let's tie that into your cinema compredictions.
Do you think that they will? I know you are
reading through your cinema compredictions. You mentioned that they might
make an announcement might not, but not to hold your breath.
Do you think there will be something there about what
about Bond? Do you think they'll make any kind of
announcement there at Cinema Coon.

Speaker 2 (44:56):
If I was them, I would just give a year.
I do the twenty twenty.

Speaker 3 (45:01):
Seven Oh okay, just that.

Speaker 2 (45:03):
Yeah, I would just say coming in twenty twenty seven.
And I think that Thanksgiving twenty twenty seven is good,
a good placement.

Speaker 1 (45:10):
For it, Okay. I mean I would announce a director
if I had one. I would announce the director.

Speaker 2 (45:17):
If I try to rush into that for theater owners,
unless it's like it already is Corona and it's done.

Speaker 3 (45:24):
Yeah, I'd be down with that.

Speaker 1 (45:27):
I'd want to see that. All right, Let's move to
something you wanted to talk about. What is this? Where
is this situation? This is a Jeff the Jeff Snyder
section of the show. Apparently, an eight figure bidding war
has broken out on the rights to a new thriller
novel from the unlikely pairing of James Patterson, who you
see in the circle there, and mister Beast Jimmy Donaldson.

(45:48):
UTA has put the novel out for submission, and this
is from Jesse Wittalk I think over there to deadline
uts put the novel oft for submission is quickly gaining traction, film, TV,
and novel rights are being shopped, with sources close to
process saying, quote, it's an eight They're eight figure offers
that are being fielded here. Some people compared it to
the most dangerous games. Some people compared it to squid Game,

(46:09):
and the log line reads players fight to survive deadly
tests held in dangerous locations around the world as they
battle to become the one. You know, Jeff, mister Beach
just basically took what he does overall and just added
a do you become the one at the end of it. So,
I don't know if there this is that inventive of
an idea from both of them, but uh it's two
powerhouses coming together for sure, with who've been successful in

(46:31):
their respective fields.

Speaker 2 (46:32):
Your thoughts on this, tired, I'm gonna call James. I'm
gonna calls right now, go ahead, call them, Like, what
the hell is going on, James? Why's out your news leaked?
The deadline? Uh No, this is the world's biggest author
and the world's biggest youtubeer teaming up. So that's why
it's not the Jeff Sneyder section. It's actually the populist section.
This is what people read and what people watch. I think,

(46:55):
pretty big deal. The book itself, You're right, isn't terribly original,
but it's the kind of thing that like that could
be the next Hunger Games, and I could see why
movies TV studios are like salivating over each other to
get it particularly, and I could see it being an
unscripted series as well. This is what people want is
like competition shows, right, like squid Game where there's a
lot of money on the line. Mister Beasts obviously had

(47:17):
like the biggest grand prize I think in game show history. Yeah, like.

Speaker 1 (47:24):
Yeah, but yeah, but I mean he's also been, you know,
been the subject of accusations of what sexual harassment, unsafe
conditions filming during the stuff that he was doing there,
do you? I mean, isn't that a danger or a
concern going into the situation? Are we now?

Speaker 2 (47:40):
If it was such a danger and I was so concerned,
I wouldn't have applied to be a contestant on the
on Beast game two.

Speaker 1 (47:47):
No offense, man, But you like to take risks, so
I don't know. If I I don't know if that's
true what you just said, I don't know if that's true.

Speaker 2 (47:54):
Necessarily, I'm not too concerned about having to, you know,
sleep without a pillow for a few nights. Let's stare
without a pillow and it was cold.

Speaker 1 (48:06):
But this will be a movie, which is a different
approach to this situation. Won't be a squid game series.
This will be a movie probably that's.

Speaker 2 (48:12):
One based on the book. But then they're also shopping
an unscripted series based off with the similar idea, essentially.

Speaker 1 (48:18):
Like yeah, so basically taking the squid game idea and
doing it for themselves.

Speaker 2 (48:22):
That's the Beast game already is. It's just like a
different name on it.

Speaker 1 (48:26):
If you will, that's true. That's true, all right, So
let's move on to the you should watch it. What's
that mister, Beast.

Speaker 2 (48:35):
Games is amazing on Amazon Prime Video. You should watch it,
and you should apply to be on it because you'd
be great.

Speaker 1 (48:40):
I think I'm too old, man. I watched some of that, mister,
and I was like, that seems like a lot of yelling.
It seems like a lot of yelling.

Speaker 2 (48:47):
It's not who doesn't yell? And you can just you know,
no one who hangs back and suddenly finds himself in
the position to win a million dollars.

Speaker 1 (48:55):
I just feel like, yeah, why not? A million dollars
would be fun for sure. Mark.

Speaker 3 (49:01):
So we'll see what the update.

Speaker 1 (49:02):
We'll keep tabs on that, see what the updates on
that particular story are. Let's see what else we got here, Jeff.
Let's jump into this storey. Let's get it into a
little bit of drama. Rachel Zegler here. Earlier this week,
THHR did a behind the scenes exploration of Rachel Zegler.
Our friend and were fans of herst Tatiana Siegel as

(49:23):
a writer, she wrote up this article for THHR. Basically,
it seemed like, and a lot of people took it
this way, that this was maybe the Disney through their contexts,
pushing it out there that Rachel Zegler was the reason
that the film did not do well Snow White, instead
of instead of the film being not good, that it

(49:44):
was Rachel Zegler's outspokenness. Apparently, Mark Platt went to visit
her after she did the free Palestine comment after the
first trailer got so many views, and her team like
turned him down and said that she wasn't changing, She's
gonna do her own thing. And then she did enough
their comment obviously on the red carpet and other things
that she said, and Mark Platt went again, and this

(50:04):
time she agreed to a social media guru to help
her well on the heels of that certain situation. This happened.
Mark Platt's son weighed in on this. Who co hosts
the Being Jewish podcast, Jonah Platt? And how many plats
are there?

Speaker 3 (50:19):
For God's sakes?

Speaker 1 (50:20):
Anyway, here's what he said his how he responded, your
dad flew to NYC to represent a young actress. Any
words on this because that's creepy as hell and I'm
called for people have the right to free speech. No
shame on your father, he said, you really want to
do this? Yeah, My dad, the producer of enormous piece
of Disney IP with hundreds of millions of dollars on
the line, had to leave his family to fly across
the country to reprimand his twenty year old employee for

(50:41):
dragging her personal politics in the miller promoting the movie
for which she signed a multimillion dollar contract to get
paid and do publicity for. This is called adult responsibility
and accountability. Interactions clearly hurt the film's box office. Free
speech does not mean you're allowed to say whatever you
want in your private employment without repercussions. Tens of thousands
of people worked on that film, and she hijacked conversation
for her own immature desires at the risk of all

(51:03):
the colleagues and crew and blue collar workers who depend
on that movie to be successful. Narcissism is not something
to be coddled or encouraged. The irony of a Plat
brother saying that is beyond me in my head. But Jeff,
your thoughts on these comments in this situation. He took
that post down by the way Jonah did, but clearly

(51:23):
that's his feelings about this.

Speaker 3 (51:25):
What do you think about this.

Speaker 2 (51:29):
Today? And two things can be trued ones go ahead.
I do think that Rachel Zegler has probably cost Disney
some money with her outspoken opinions and views and just
general annoyingness. I simultaneously think that Disney spent way too
much money on a bad or not a bad because

(51:51):
I haven't seen it, but a snow white movie that
clearly has not resonated with the public despite some social
media activity. From his lead or leads. Yeah, so yeah,
I think both of these parties are at fault. But
ultimately you can't blame Rachel Zegler for the movie not

(52:13):
drawing in enough people, because I don't think that that
movie is star dependent. I think that's about like, who
want to see a live action snow White movie? And
also does the movie look good, which also has nothing
to do with Rachel zegeler' you know so? Or how
much the movie costs, which also has nothing to do
with Rachel Zegler. So yeah, she is definitely being scapegoaded.
I don't know, you know, yeah, I'm sure it is

(52:34):
Disney to some extent, the Disney spin machine, if you'll notice,
since you know, booking snow White, she hasn't really booked
a ton of big studio jobs. She's doing stuff like
y UK And it's not that you know, she'll never
work in this town again sort of thing, But I
I don't think that people really, you know, are dying

(52:55):
to work with her, and it's because they can't control her.
And god, you know, I'm super outspoken. God bless her
for for being outspoken, but that is not what studios
are necessarily looking for. Now, I don't think if they
understand the pressures of social media, you know that you're
being asked away in on this stuff and if you don't,
then you're complicit to some extent, and so you know,

(53:15):
it's always like this pick a side sort of thing.
But yeah, clearly she has not mastered that art nor
by so who am I a lot turn on forty
one and uh yeah, you know, I wish her the
best of what going forward. But to demonize Tatiana Siegull
I think is crazy and irresponsible by a lot of

(53:36):
people online. I've seen some crazy stuff about Tatiana. She's
one of the best journalists I know.

Speaker 1 (53:40):
I know, I'm surprised, but like Melissa Barrera coming after
it was just ridiculous, Like, come on, y'all, I mean,
everyone is everyone is fair game in this business. If
you can't handle criticism, get the fuck out of this business,
because you're in the wrong business.

Speaker 3 (53:52):
I mean, this is how it goes.

Speaker 1 (53:53):
Trying to tell journalists what they can and can't write about,
or that they're being whatever, I think is nonsense. You've
chosen to be in a front facing business. You will
get criticism and you will get praised. So that's how
it works. So but to me, you know, I've kind
of been evolving my opinion on this. I mean, at
the beginning of the week, I was like, yeah, you know,
she said these things. Clearly it affected a box office,

(54:15):
she should learn this or whatever. But after reading a
little more deeply to the THHR story, after reading some
other articles on this, my mind's kind of changing a
little bit in that I think she knew exactly what
she was doing. This is a very actually is a
smarter woman than people think. I know a lot of
you guys who haven't accomplished what she's accomplished in her
life are out here telling her that she should do

(54:36):
this and she should do that, and she'd But the
truth is that she is a young woman who's got
who's smart about what's going on in the world politically,
and is going to speak out on it no matter
what the hell's going on, and she's used the larger
platforms to speak out on it. You don't catch her
talking about Palestine on the Y two K Junket, even
though that film is about how dangerous technology is and

(54:57):
how we can become slaves of technology into terrible ways.
She didn't speak out on anything there. She chose Snow White,
she chose the other film that she was a part
of there to speak out on it and talk about it.
Now we're her words, correct, that's obviously subjective situation. But
does she have a right to speak her mind? Yes
she does. Will it cost the studio sometimes? Sure? But look,

(55:18):
Ariana Grande and Cynthia Rivo also spoke out with the
pro Palestine stuff, and Wicked didn't suffer a goddamn thing.
You know why.

Speaker 3 (55:26):
This is a good fucking movie.

Speaker 1 (55:28):
So to me, this is where I think Disney is
scapegoating her, as you said, because they made a shit
movie and it's not. And look, ironically, she's the one
they're talking about coming out of all the films, so
people can say she's never gonna work agin whatever. Hollywood
has a short term memory, shall I show you Chip
Mel Gibson's movies, like Hollywood is a short term memory.
I think as she rebuilds herself on the stage here

(55:49):
the Romeo and Juliet leading Avida in London in the
West End, eventually they'll swing around. And even today my
time with Shane Hello put out there that Marvel might
be looking at her for.

Speaker 3 (55:58):
A role Rachel Zegeler.

Speaker 1 (56:00):
So I think she will work. I think she'll be
just fine because she's super fucking talented and that matters
more than anything else, I feel like, And no one
talks about that she's difficult to work with, Jeff. There's
no stories of her being difficult to work with other
than the social media stuff. And she may be mastering
at a young age better than any of the old
fogies who are trying to tell her to play it
like the old school way.

Speaker 2 (56:22):
She'll get the hang of it.

Speaker 1 (56:23):
Yeah, Yeah, I feel like that's the truth in the
situation there. So we'll see, we'll see, we'll see, we'll see.

Can you tease anything tonight?

Speaker 1 (56:57):
Are you? Are you breaking anything? Tonight, are you.

Speaker 2 (57:00):
It's I probably am not going to be able to
publish until tomorrow morning. You take GT out to dinner.

Speaker 3 (57:06):
After this is his birthday or something.

Speaker 2 (57:10):
GT, it's my boy. My boy needs me, So I'm
taking GT out on the town. You know, friendship is
more important sometimes. Oh, the newsletter will wait, but I'm
gonna have some some discussion of the PTA movie, okay,
you know, and we can talk about that trailer shortly

(57:31):
that next. Yeah, the Academy like that. The Academy's response
to this whole adduction situation, Yes, no blame. I mean
the Academy's communication strategy is terrible.

Speaker 3 (57:44):
To be desired, for sure, horrible.

Speaker 2 (57:47):
I don't know what's going on there. Yeah, obviously the
Disney landing, the Marty Leo Dwayne Johnson package, that's a
statement by Okay, David Greenbaum really hasn't greenlit a whole
lot since he took over Disney on the live action side. Uh,
and so that's a pretty big bet. Sundance, Yes, Sundance move.

(58:11):
Let's talk about that right now. Let's just do that.

Speaker 1 (58:13):
And I know you can talk about this, but like,
are you surprised by this Sundance moving officially moving. I
mean I was, I'm not. I've never been to Sundance,
but I know that's a very, very big deal. So
I am really surprised that they are moving from Park City, Utah,
where they had been for so long, to Boulder, Colorado.
Although a lot of people say Bolder, Colorado is a

(58:35):
pretty cool town, so is it? Does this feel like
a lateral move Jeff? More than some surprising shocking difference overall?

Speaker 2 (58:42):
I know a lot of people are like, why isn't
this in fucking Burbank right, like going to the cold
at all? And why is everybody who's going to this
thing leaving where we already are? So, but like, that's
not what Sundance is about. I think that's you know,
it's a destination. It's about from the trip and devoting
yourself and shutting everything else down, just giving yourself up

(59:04):
movies loll though. You know in recent Sonny needs to
get back to what it was, right, It needs to
discover the filmmakers it has become. Who's performing at tow tonight?

Speaker 1 (59:14):
Yeah, oh I can't.

Speaker 2 (59:16):
I can't make that movie at six because I gotta
be out until four am at the club. Ganks strangled
by Emil Hirsh Easy, easy, now, hey that that was confirmed.
He confess that's true. Not another lawsuit. Don't worry, daddy,
But I like son is there was something so special

(59:38):
about as me. It just got to be too expensive
because all the locals just knew, like, oh, we can
just jack up the prices here and Hollywood's gonna pay
me because people need lodging. No one wants to like,
you know, it's tough to get transportations. You can't walk
within the snow. I'm glad it's moving a boulder because,
like it was always tough on my lungs and I've
got I have asthma and everything, so I've got weak lungs.

(01:00:01):
But like I'm an in shape dude, and it was
still a struggle at times. So like, I can't imagine
being an older person having to hoof it around fucking
Park City to see, you know, Sundance movies. They also
haven't discovered a filmmaker in a while, John, Like, like
it's been a while since there was really a breakout
movie that everybody talked about and everybody saw like, yeah,

(01:00:21):
maybe it'll be this movie. Sorry baby, this year the
day twenty four picked up for More Train Dreams, right
that flick spot.

Speaker 1 (01:00:29):
But like, yeah, okay, okay, the other thing is you
already mentioned I had it on the rundown. But let's talk.
Let's get your two cents on this here, this situation
is going about. I mean, I'm super surprised this is
happening like this. I am definitely very surprised happening. But
DA Studios has picked up the Hawaii set crime thriller

(01:00:52):
package that as DiCaprio, Dwayne Johnson, Emily Bleutched, Emily Blunt
attached to star and Martin Scorsese directing, which is an
written by journalists and author Nick Bilton. The fact based
on top of movie is said to be in the
mold of Scorsese's Good Fellas and The Departed, centering on
a mob boss buying for control the Hawaiian Islands in
the nineteen sixties and in the nineteen seventies. So, Jeff,

(01:01:14):
we kind of thought this wasn't maybe going to happen,
but it happened pretty quick. So what's your reaction to
them green lighting this so fast after it was just
announced that it was being shopped around.

Speaker 2 (01:01:26):
I mean, it didn't happen quick. Happening quick would have
been like it's sold that day or in the you know,
that weekend. It definitely took a couple of weeks to
find it fin and you know, it obviously went past
all the ones that you know typically have the deepest pockets, which.

Speaker 3 (01:01:40):
Yeah, well, you know, okay.

Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
But you know, Amazon, I don't think was looking to
spend on this package after spending you know, a billion
ouflters to buy out everybody on Bond, right, you know
they have to be at least, you know, somewhat conscious
of the budget over there. And Apple and Netflix had
both sort of been burned and in the past, so
they found their their sucker if you will. I don't

(01:02:08):
know if this is the best bet, but it's a
defensible one. You can go to your bosses and be like, dude,
I fucking bet on Leonardo DiCaprio and Dwayne Johnson, like
what do you want for me? You know, you can
go before your bosses with that. Yeah, and it's somewhat understandable. Plus,
this is a more probably a more commercial idea than

(01:02:30):
one battle after another, which costs you know, close to
one fifty what did they say? This was two hundred yeah,
two hundred. Yeah, it's a lot for a crime movie.
But with those two guys Hawaii, Like that's another thing.
Like this isn't like come spend two and a half
hours in dreary Boston or Detroit. Like there's a crime
movie where you rarely see crime movies. It's a different

(01:02:52):
kind of crime movie. It's an interesting book.

Speaker 1 (01:02:55):
Yeah, I mean in the fact that Emily Blunt is
seems like from what they're saying in the article here
was kind of the driving force and making this happen, uh,
with the idea and then the Rock getting on board
because her and the Rock have been friends since Jungle
Cruise and probably a little bit before this, and then
Roping and Dicaprian Scorsese. This is an interesting combination of

(01:03:15):
actors for a film like this. I would have never
thought the Dwayne Johnson for a film of this magnetude.
Do you think it'll be like serious but with some
jokes throughout or do you think this is gonna be
like like they were saying, a much more harder edge
to pros like like Goodfellas and what have you.

Speaker 2 (01:03:34):
Oh, I believe that for sure. Like I don't want
to see like the goofy version of this or whatever
I want, the serious version. I just don't know if
I'm gonna buy Dwayne Johnson in that role this. I mean,
you know, you saw that the report from World of
Real about Smashing Machine. I'd heard similar though, like sounds
like that's not if you noticed in my Oscar predictions.

(01:03:55):
I didn't have that in my early Oscar predictions. I'd
heard it's really not an Awards movie.

Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
Yeah, yeah, I read the report this morning that it
seems like Dwayne is in a different movie than everybody else,
and that's not if that's on purpose, Okay, but that's
not usually a good sign for a movie where someone
seems like they're acting in a completely different movie on Benny. Yeah,

(01:04:20):
it's on Benny of course. Yeah yeah, because he's the
director and he's the one guiding the rock, guiding the
performance of Dwayne Johnson. So yeah, absolutely, But you know
they're still going.

Speaker 3 (01:04:29):
To hang it on him, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:04:30):
People, people always have their knives out for Dwayne to
attack his acting and his talent.

Speaker 3 (01:04:34):
So I think that that's a dangerous.

Speaker 1 (01:04:36):
Part of that of this of working with an an
artistic filmmaker, you could get screwed in the end because
they have a vision, you know, overall, all right, so
we'll keep tabs on that for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:04:49):
What do you think of his trailer?

Speaker 1 (01:04:50):
Dude? You mentioned it one battle after another's new Paul
Town Thomas Anderson trailer not that many views on YouTube, so.

Speaker 3 (01:04:56):
Clearly people like, yeah, sure, let's see.

Speaker 1 (01:04:58):
But it's not getting the best reviews coming out of
the early screenings. People a little mixed. So what okay, fine,
what do you think about?

Speaker 3 (01:05:06):
What do you think of the trailer?

Speaker 2 (01:05:09):
I've had a really good Yeah, I think I've heard
it's great. Okay, spoiler spoiler for the My My newsletter.
I've heard really good things about for another. But it's
a tough sell. Yeah, that's that's also what I heard.
Tricky sell. Uh, it does have. If I had to

(01:05:32):
compare it to another PTA movie, the obvious one is
Inherent Vice.

Speaker 3 (01:05:36):
Which I was just gonna say, yeah, has that energy?

Speaker 2 (01:05:39):
I don't. I know some people think in Hair Advice
is a masterpiece. I've had it.

Speaker 1 (01:05:43):
Unwatchable advice, dog crap.

Speaker 2 (01:05:46):
Yeah, but Leo is a very different actor, A much
more giving actor I think than Joaquin Phoenix, a much
more open Uh. You know, like, it's just there's something
about him. I could watch him read the fucking phone book.
Not that I couldn't watch walking and do it that too,
but this looks this looks great. I've heard Chason Finnity's

(01:06:07):
really good shot. Penn supposed to be a make amazing. Yeah,
you'd sign me up.

Speaker 1 (01:06:13):
It's interesting time you look at pta, right, what is
I mean? Liquorice pizza was not My cup of tail
is a terrible movie.

Speaker 2 (01:06:22):
I like it.

Speaker 1 (01:06:22):
I know, I know a lot of people like that,
but I liked Fantom Thread. I mean he's he's a
filmmaker who makes films.

Speaker 3 (01:06:30):
That are gonna be divisive.

Speaker 1 (01:06:32):
And I don't mean divisive in the sense of like,
you know, oh it's so hateful.

Speaker 3 (01:06:36):
It's more a matter of like you either get it
or you don't.

Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
And he will make his vision clear, you know, because
I love There will be blood and punch drunk love.
There's a lot of The Master, which I've been rediscovering
recently as it's been playing on Pluto TV over and
over again, Like that's a film I need to take
a little more time and sit down with and really
go through because there's a lot of brilliance in The
Master as well.

Speaker 3 (01:06:59):
That appeals to what's going on nowadays.

Speaker 2 (01:07:01):
So you're right that his movies are divisive. Yeah, but
I have a feeling this one will be a little
bit more commercial, almost like Boogie Knights. Boogie Knights is
not devisive, right, everybody likes Boogie.

Speaker 3 (01:07:15):
Knights, right right, absolutely?

Speaker 2 (01:07:17):
I think this will be closer to that than all
the others, which I believe are divisive.

Speaker 3 (01:07:22):
Oh right on, Okay, let's see what else have we
got lined up here that we rolled? Oh yeah, well,
what do you think of this situation here?

Speaker 1 (01:07:31):
Barry Jenkins has locked down a bio pic on Ronnie
Spector with Zendaya starring in this. Are you liking this news?
Does this make sense for both of them as the
next for a next film? And this is with a
twenty four doing this and Ronnie Spector. It's gonna be

(01:07:54):
called Be My Baby, because that's, of course one of
the big songs that Ronnie was a part of. Ronnie
has a history with a lot of people during the
fifties and sixties. It's an interesting choice for Zindeia. Does
she look like her? I mean a little bit, A
little bit. I could see it, But are people gonna
care about this? Joff?

Speaker 2 (01:08:16):
No? And who cares? It's like, okay, like, do people
does she look like her? No? One knows what Ronnie
Spector looks like.

Speaker 1 (01:08:25):
Of course they do. What's wrong with you? I know
what Ronnie Spector?

Speaker 2 (01:08:28):
What she looked like?

Speaker 1 (01:08:32):
That's her, right there, Ronnie Spector.

Speaker 2 (01:08:35):
Okay, well it doesn't. First of all, it doesn't matter.
No one's gonna cares.

Speaker 1 (01:08:39):
Yeah, go ahead, ya.

Speaker 2 (01:08:41):
Come on again. This is one of those things where
I'm just like, who is this for?

Speaker 3 (01:08:46):
Like?

Speaker 2 (01:08:46):
Who is crying out for Ronnie Spector movie? Maybe there
is a really fascinating story. I'm sure she did leave
a really lead a really fascinating life. You know, we
don't even like a Dean Martin movie or like the
Sammy Davis Junior movie. Really yet like we're getting the
Ronnie I don't just don't understand it. She's not as
well known as like Priscilla, and I don't think Priscilla

(01:09:06):
did super well. But I know Zenda's is a much
bigger star than Kaylee Spainey, So you know, is that
why they're doing this is just just that Hey, we
end the Zendaya and the Math works because we have
her because a story. I'm just like, how is this
supposed to resonate with eight twenty four's audience?

Speaker 3 (01:09:22):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:09:23):
Yeah, it may be a Priscilla type approach. It's a
small independent film, and this may be what like Zendeia
looks at this as a possibility to get herself nominated
if she delivers a fantastic performance. You know, I mean
Kristen Stewart, Natalie Portman delivered interesting performances as Princess Diana
and Jackie Oh respectively. So maybe she sees this as

(01:09:44):
a possibility for her to kind of establish herself even
more as an actress and get those acting bones going
and working with some only Barry Jenkins, who's an excellent
filmmaker aside from Mufasa, It would be interesting to see
what their collaboration is like. And Rodney Spector was married
to Phil Spector, so that's gotta be a part of
this as well. So how is that going to play

(01:10:05):
itself into the overall story?

Speaker 3 (01:10:07):
So we will see, We will see for.

Speaker 1 (01:10:09):
Sure, all right, Final US Nation blood Lines. Brother, what
did you think of this trailer? What a great trailer.

Speaker 3 (01:10:14):
I loved it. What do you think.

Speaker 2 (01:10:19):
Which trailer. I'm sorry, I got a.

Speaker 3 (01:10:21):
Text Finalstination Bloodlines.

Speaker 2 (01:10:24):
Didn't watch it. I'm glad that you mentioned it. Okay,
I watched it. I'm this ticket was sold. I saw
that the teaser in the tattoo parlor. Why would I
watch a trailer for finalization? I want the kills to
be fresh. I'm not going to spoil myself. I saw
the glass in the ice thing. Guy, I mean that
was unavoidable. Yeah, but no, I wasn't gonna watch that

(01:10:44):
full trailer. I'm sorry to anyone who thought I was
or hoped that I would. Okay, this is this is
the highest compliment I can pay you, is that I'm
literally trying to avoid the marketing materials so I can
go in fresh and you know, fully appreciate the movie.

Speaker 3 (01:11:00):
Okay, well, I loved it.

Speaker 1 (01:11:01):
I loved it. I thought it was great, captured a
lot of the energy and the fact that it showed
us that it is going to be generational and that
there's Easter eggs throughout this trailer. I thought it. I
don't want to ruin it for Jeff, but the Easter
eggs in here were pretty fucking cool, So I like that.

Speaker 2 (01:11:18):
Dude, I've always loved this franchise. You know, it was
funny that that Perry just texted, Oh, you know, and
I it's been a little while, so it's funny the
like Final Destination brings out scary Perry.

Speaker 1 (01:11:35):
Uh, what about CinemaCon here, buddy, You're going real soon.

Speaker 2 (01:11:37):
Your preview is dominated like I do every year because
I look at the movies right or wrong, through a
very different set of eyes than everybody else. And I
totally acknowledged that I missed the boat last year on Wicked, right, yeah,
which turned out to be a delight. I feel like
I have been with most of these movies right for

(01:12:01):
years in some cases right, Like some of these movies,
most people in the theater it's like, oh, I've never
heard of that, Like what is this? You know I've
been you know, I've been with these movies for years already.
To by the point we get to CinemaCon, it's almost
like the finish line for me, and so I just
know a little bit more about how they got made,

(01:12:21):
why they got made. I don't know. I love it.
To me. It is the super Bowl every year, and
you know we're getting Amazon is gonna be up on stage,
We're getting an extra presentation this year, sign me up
for more work and it's crazy, you know, the Salky
timing is obviously time to get to get in front
of that.

Speaker 1 (01:12:37):
Yeah, yeah, is there anything you're looking forward to?

Speaker 3 (01:12:41):
Panel wise?

Speaker 1 (01:12:41):
I mean you you wrote it for those of you
who don't subscribe to the inside, he wrote a pretty
extensive breakdown studio for studio.

Speaker 3 (01:12:47):
I'm not gonna go it would be an hour for us.

Speaker 2 (01:12:50):
It wasn't great just because like a lot of studios
didn't really feel like participating and just left it up
to me to speculate, and like I wish i'd gotten,
you know, a little bit more clarity on what the
actual plans are, right, you know.

Speaker 1 (01:13:02):
Kind of anything you're looking forward to, any presentation or
any studio in particular that you want to see that
you hope hits the high mark when they do their presentation.

Speaker 2 (01:13:13):
I mean Universal, Universal always has a good presentation, and
obviously this year, I'm very curious about the Cruise stuff
with Paramount and whether they if this is the final reckoning,
right and you know, like, hey, we're doing two more
Tom Cruiseman the possible movies, Well, what do you like,
are you letting this guy out the door, Like, how

(01:13:35):
are you keeping him around? Yeah, it's gotta be Top
Gun three? What any news on Top Gun three? You
know who does Tom Cruise Kurt trust more than anybody
behind the camera, And you know, just like I mean, listen,
it's may still be Kasinski directing, but like as far
as writing, yeah, lets McCrory, right, glory coming on? Are

(01:13:58):
they doing Days of Thunder? And instead? You know, did
F one sort of beat him to the punch? There
was like, is there even a way for to make
Days of Thunder now cooler than F one? Or is
it just like, all right, we're asking too much?

Speaker 1 (01:14:10):
Wow, I didn't even think about Thunder, I said, but
that wasn't as big as Top Guns. So I don't
know if there's a logical reasoning to do that one.
But okay, fine, I guess bring back John c Riley.
Is Robert Duval still around? I mean, Robert could come back.
I suppose Nicole, what are you gonna.

Speaker 3 (01:14:30):
Get, Nicole? You can't get the cold to come back?

Speaker 1 (01:14:32):
What do youna do about that?

Speaker 2 (01:14:33):
I'm speculating here. I'm also pumped. You know, Glen Powell
is honestly like movies of the moment, I feel like
and I want to see that Running Man trailer. I
bet you were getting footage from from that. That seems
like a big movie for Paramount at the end of
the year.

Speaker 1 (01:14:47):
Nice. Nice, Well you can follow his coverage there on
the Insnider dot com. I'm not going this year.

Speaker 3 (01:14:53):
I yeah, you know, I'm.

Speaker 1 (01:14:57):
I don't know what to tell you, but I'm becoming
more of an introvert and more more of a homebody
and going out into a place where I could get
the neuro virus. So god knows what else does not
excite me.

Speaker 2 (01:15:06):
So I tried to get play fifty bucks from that
trip to the strip club last year.

Speaker 1 (01:15:14):
Brother, if we fifty bucks would have bought us two
minutes in a strip club in Vegas, for God's sake,
get really, then again, you'd like to go to those
ones right off the strip? Anyway, one last thing, or
we get to the questions your smell test on this.
Mikey Madison is rumored has reportedly been offered the lead
female role in Zach Kreiger's Resident Evil reboot add Sony Pictures.

(01:15:37):
According to Jordan over There at World of Real, it
does not in care to mass and will play anyone
for the Games, which it could be the second potential
piece of casting with her because Austin Abrams is joining
the cast. So do you buy it doesn't make sense
this next move for her to lead this? I mean,
you're stepping in for Djoviovic, no offense, But Mikey Madison

(01:15:58):
is already a way more, way better actress than Jovivic.
So does this make sense to take this over?

Speaker 2 (01:16:04):
But is that are you stepping in for Jovivic or
is Austin Abrams?

Speaker 3 (01:16:10):
That's true, that's true.

Speaker 2 (01:16:12):
That's what confused me is it's like the article sort
of position Abrams as the entry point, the lead into
this franchise. So I don't think that you go to
be the number two, right, it's complicd. I mean normally
I would say run and hide from Resident Evil. That's
way beneath your But Craigor intrigues me.

Speaker 3 (01:16:32):
Yeah, is that Craigor?

Speaker 2 (01:16:33):
If weapons is really good, it's like, oh shit, like
this guy could actually make something like this could be
like twenty eight days later and you're gonna be talking
for not taking the Naomi Harris role. You know how
many actress have probably passed on that role? Then saw
twenty eight days later and I was like, fuck, I mean,
I that's just me speculating. Yeah, but uh yeah, I

(01:16:54):
think it's me cool.

Speaker 1 (01:16:56):
Okay, all right, if it happens, all right, there you go.
Let's get to the questions here, Jeff on we got
limited times. So, Max Loth says, any casting updates on
the new Hunger Games film, yes or no?

Speaker 2 (01:17:07):
No? Uh, I've got you know, i'd heard some names,
but i'd heard its early days, you know, like the
script still isn't done. They're still doing some work on
the script. I don't know that they're actually like meeting
with people, but you know, I'm sure there's a list
everywhere for everything, right.

Speaker 1 (01:17:22):
Yeah, Max Law said fancast, what do you think Kevin
Harrison Junior playing Tiger Woods at a biopick recently announced
at Amazon MGM.

Speaker 3 (01:17:30):
I like Kelvin Harrison Junior.

Speaker 2 (01:17:32):
Maybe I think he'd be great.

Speaker 1 (01:17:35):
Especially now that you know he's dating former Don Trump
Junior's wife, Derek Johnson's or Don Trump just one wife.
It says support, Thank you, Derek, appreciate that brother. Always
good to see you. Max Loth alsoys thoughts on the
Tatiana Siegel article blaming Zegular for snow White family. We
talked about that earlier. Thank you, Max, appreciate it.

Speaker 2 (01:17:54):
Just real quick, like Tatiana is not responsible even for
what makes it to the page as far as I'm concerned, right,
you know, Yeah, it's the editor. The editors never it's
like they get the higher salary and they get none
of their responsibility or the blank or none of the blank.

Speaker 1 (01:18:08):
Uh.

Speaker 2 (01:18:09):
It's all about what the editor is letting through and
how they're positioning it later on headline.

Speaker 1 (01:18:14):
Right, good point, l Areo Phoenix. Is this really going
to be done by May six?

Speaker 2 (01:18:18):
No?

Speaker 3 (01:18:18):
CGI, please? I don't know, man, I.

Speaker 2 (01:18:23):
Would be surprised myself. That's what I thought. That's why
I positioned in. I asked in the newsletters, like are
these movies actually hitting these dates? But uh, I guess
it's possible.

Speaker 1 (01:18:32):
I don't know, so just a month. This is a
year and a month away that that doesn't seem believable.
Uh is this really gonna be okay? I don't want
betsys ask few MCU films. I hope they don't rush
this and ruin it.

Speaker 3 (01:18:45):
Where's Wong? I know Wong should come back for sure.

Speaker 1 (01:18:49):
I heard a story about CGI from a friend of
mine to contact uh and someone who's very upset about
a certain VFX shot, and they were mad at the
VFX people and apparently threw a stapler in an anger
about the VFX situation.

Speaker 3 (01:19:08):
I'm not gonna mention that, uh what.

Speaker 2 (01:19:11):
Like oh oh, so they didn't throw the stapler at
the VFX people. They just threw they saw it and
they threw a stapler.

Speaker 1 (01:19:18):
They threw a stapler and anger at the shot because
he wasn't They weren't apparently getting across to them what
they what that person wanted to see as the director
of the film on screen. So an interesting story for
sure when you talk about anger in this and bad CGI.
Uh RUJ Kumar, thank you buddy. What can you say

(01:19:38):
about the chameleon being the main villain of Spider Man
for Jeff? What can you say?

Speaker 2 (01:19:43):
Good question? So again this was a single source, good source.
But like I'm just like, you know, what have you heard?
Because I've heard things that are all over the place
for Spider Man for And they said that they'd heard
then it could end up being Chameleon, yes, but that
they wouldn't be called Kamie, which I guess, you know,
why would they be called chameleon if the chameleon is

(01:20:04):
being somebody else. That's like the whole thing really is.
So when you know, he wouldn't be pretending to be
somebody else and go by chameleon, he'd be going by
whatever that person's name is. Yeah, so it kind of
made sense. And again, I know I'm using the word he.
It could be a she. Why can't chameleon be a she?
The person basically was like, you know, there was an

(01:20:25):
idea that Camellion might be off limits because of Craven
the Hunter, but nobody watched. I haven't even seen Craven
the Hunter. Nobody cares burpose of that character. It's like,
that's such a big villain for Spider Man, or are
you telling me it's just going to be like played
by Frek Fred Heckinger in a spinoff movie nobody saw
and then written that's it because of it. That's what

(01:20:45):
made me be like, you're you know, you're right. I
think it is definitely in play and it does kind
of make sense.

Speaker 1 (01:20:52):
Yeah, agreed, agree, Uh, okay, you walk says, Okay, roll
with me on this. Rather than playing Nightcrawl or what
if Marvel brought back Allan Cummings, who could play.

Speaker 3 (01:21:00):
The host from The Traders?

Speaker 1 (01:21:02):
Which three superhero should he pick to be the Traders? Well,
clearly nay more Uh, well, that would be obvious super
villains being Traders. You're supposed to it's supposed to be
difficult to figure out who the Traders are.

Speaker 2 (01:21:21):
I mean, Captain America, Chris Evans, that would be a
good one.

Speaker 1 (01:21:25):
Yeah, and don't we only have it built in with
Don Cheetle. When did war Machine become a scroll? When
they did not become a scroll? So questions there as well.

Speaker 2 (01:21:34):
So I liked I would like Brie Larson. I think
she'd be Traders.

Speaker 3 (01:21:39):
The Traders, Captain Marvel, Wow.

Speaker 2 (01:21:43):
America, if you have any kind of rank, I want you.
In the mar An Interview Johnny with Paul Walter Houser
nice I got a full fifteen with Paul, who I
go way back with. Yeah, movie, and that's hopefully going
to run maybe even this weekend, maybe Monday, I don't know.
But he says that if he could join any TV show, yeah,

(01:22:06):
would be The Traders.

Speaker 1 (01:22:08):
Well, of course he'd be fantastic on that. Uh astro
Roger Kamar also says, what can you already sent that again?
Sorry about that, Jack cor twenty twentywo Hey, fellows, any
new info in Dune three? Love the show and thank
you for keeping me entertained. Hope to run into Jeff this.

Speaker 3 (01:22:22):
Year at tiff Jeff, what can you say doing three? Anything?
I haven't heard damn thing?

Speaker 2 (01:22:28):
I think. I feel like that's coming next week. I
feel like part of the Warner Brothers panel where they're
going to say December twenty twenty six or whatever.

Speaker 1 (01:22:40):
Wow A Swell says the timing of the Scorsese twenty
century News is hilarious considering what we learned about the
other day in the studio. Lol, oh yeah with Scorsese
that first episode.

Speaker 2 (01:22:53):
Oh that's right, what do we learn about? I'm confused?

Speaker 1 (01:22:57):
Well, remember his his pitch for his movie in the
first episode with Scorsese was talking about and what is
uh what he was trying with a story he was
trying to tell the really serious Yeah yeah, so maybe
they connected to that.

Speaker 3 (01:23:12):
Uh yeah, it is good.

Speaker 1 (01:23:15):
Yanks says, Hey, guys, always a bright spot watching you
each week. If you started your own news outlet, which
reporter scoopers would you want on your team. I think
our teams would be different, so.

Speaker 2 (01:23:25):
I mean it would depend on Yeah, like who I needed.
I think obviously i'd want Kroll, and I have respect
for all the guys that Kroll, Boris and berdo. They're
all great. Drew Taylor does a great job.

Speaker 1 (01:23:37):
True, definitely, Tatiana Siegel, Come on, Beatrice. I think Beatrice Verhomen,
who just got promoted, congratulations, grants.

Speaker 2 (01:23:47):
To be listening. There's a lot of people I've thought about.
This is like one of the most controversial ideas I've
ever had. I've been toying with it for years. Okay,
it's doing a entertainment journalist power rankings. I think I
think everyone in the industry would read it, and it
would hurt so many feelings.

Speaker 1 (01:24:07):
I think it's fantastic. You should absolutely do it. Be amazing.

Speaker 2 (01:24:11):
I would be It would obviously take a real feat
of narcissism on my part.

Speaker 7 (01:24:16):
To do that, but because you'd have to rank yourself,
oh yeah, yeah, yeah, I think Matt and Kim would
probably be one two though at this point.

Speaker 3 (01:24:26):
Oh yeah, I would agree with that. Agree.

Speaker 2 (01:24:29):
I think it's both of them right now.

Speaker 1 (01:24:32):
Francisco Lopez has we sitting my con around the corner.

Speaker 3 (01:24:34):
Is it is possible.

Speaker 1 (01:24:35):
Is it possible Disney could change the date for the
Fantastic Four to November? Or it's too late to change
the date. I don't think any dates are since with Marble.

Speaker 2 (01:24:43):
Yeah, let's just wait a week. But no, I I
think it probably it is coming out the time. I've
heard that they are really high on it and if
they like it. But again, anything could happen in sinemcon
so true, so true.

Speaker 1 (01:24:58):
Alan Smithy says, did some work for Chris Columbus today?
Oh that's nice. Yes, I sometimes work for Tarantino, Sean Baker, Scorsese.
Never met any of them, but I worked for them sometimes.
My question is, who's a huge director you've met or interviewed? Thanks, Jeff,
who's a huge director you've.

Speaker 3 (01:25:14):
Met or interviewed?

Speaker 2 (01:25:18):
Honestly, the one time I mean I've met I've met
some good ones. Yeah, this will be a controversial answer.
The one time where I was like, holy shit, I
can't believe this is like fucking happening. Yeah, Woody, Oh wow?

Speaker 3 (01:25:33):
Really?

Speaker 2 (01:25:35):
Yeah?

Speaker 3 (01:25:35):
You and Woody stuck on an elevator.

Speaker 1 (01:25:37):
I would love to have like a microphone in that
elevator if you guys were stuck for like six.

Speaker 2 (01:25:41):
Hours and that and Woody Allen.

Speaker 3 (01:25:47):
So tell me you pout your.

Speaker 2 (01:25:50):
I was just like, this is nuts. I mean Tarantino
obviously was. Uh was a wild one. Kevin, That's my
favorite though.

Speaker 3 (01:25:59):
Yeah, I've met kevin' SMI before because the Showdown.

Speaker 2 (01:26:02):
Kevin's daughter just got engaged this week.

Speaker 1 (01:26:04):
Oh nice, Harley, right, nice, congratulations.

Speaker 3 (01:26:07):
I met Fuquah.

Speaker 1 (01:26:11):
I don't know who else I might have. Mat. I
can't remember if I've met her, because I mean, my
friends run in those circles back when I lived in
La so you know, I would occasionally be invited to
parties or whatever, and I would meet certain people. But
I it's all a blur. Sometimes he walks as, what
the hell we got double O seven films in two
thousand and six and two thousand and eight, but not

(01:26:31):
two thousand and seven? Oh okay, okay, thirty four Virgo
is M Night is M Night?

Speaker 3 (01:26:40):
Shaya shit? Allowed to get.

Speaker 1 (01:26:42):
Any more movies Greenlit after his Tamu quality straight to
DVD to be thriller? Anything he has coming up next?
I guess they didn't like, uh the one with Josh Harden.

Speaker 2 (01:26:54):
I this with an answer. I believe that might. Shamlan
is a genius.

Speaker 3 (01:27:01):
You do think he's a genius. A genius, a.

Speaker 2 (01:27:05):
Genius, And I think that anyone who's read the book
The Man who Heard Voices would have been, all right,
one of the great books.

Speaker 1 (01:27:13):
Okay, like directors, right, m Steve Black says fight he
started his career with the og X Men's no doubt
every one of them will be back in Doomsday. Oh
that's a great point. That's a great point. I'd forgotten
about that. So yeah, I see why he wants to
bring them in in whatever. But yeah, probably in.

Speaker 2 (01:27:31):
Last night's newsletter. But yeah, that's where he cut his
teeth was on those original X movies, so it makes
sense that he'd have an affinity for that era.

Speaker 3 (01:27:39):
Yeah, good point.

Speaker 1 (01:27:40):
Uh, fantastic high Hot Mike, Hey, hot Mike. Any Star
Wars news, Jeff, you got anything new rolling around in that?
Brandy yours? Steve Hurt?

Speaker 2 (01:27:50):
Don't expect a Mando trailer at Cinema.

Speaker 1 (01:27:53):
Con Okay, Well, celebration is like less than a month away,
so they'll probably do it there in Japan. You usually
drop some news for celebration, man, so hopefully you've got
something lined up before celebration.

Speaker 2 (01:28:05):
Eric what something pretty big during the show. Okay, true?

Speaker 1 (01:28:13):
Eric Kurves says, Hey, guys, are the rumors true that
steven A Smith stole Molly Korm from Jalen Rose. That's
why they got the divorce. Jeff, I know, you know.

Speaker 2 (01:28:21):
I don't even know who is that a person.

Speaker 3 (01:28:25):
She's the host on on.

Speaker 1 (01:28:28):
I think in the morning show he does, she's the host.

Speaker 2 (01:28:31):
I've literally never heard that name before. Just now, what
do you.

Speaker 1 (01:28:36):
Think of steven A threatening to hit Lebron if Lebron
had hit him or step to him?

Speaker 2 (01:28:41):
The easiest thing in the world to do. I can
say that right now. I know, come at me the rock,
Come at me, Dwayne Johnson, I dare you to hit me, motherfucker.
He was so if he gets me, I'm rich. I mean,
I hit him, it's not gonna matter.

Speaker 1 (01:28:59):
Yeah, right. He was so emasculated by that confrontation with Lebron.
He won't let it go because Lebron put him.

Speaker 3 (01:29:06):
In his place.

Speaker 1 (01:29:07):
And now he's going on all these shows saying, I, well,
if he had stepped to me, I'd have slapped him in.
I know he'd kick my ass.

Speaker 2 (01:29:14):
But I was like it's like a few money. Now
he thinks he can say fuck you to everybody, but
he realize who the the alpha dog is.

Speaker 1 (01:29:21):
That contract doesn't come with muscles. Bro Lebron would pull
your heart out and right in front of you. I mean,
and the thing is you can't go. And there's nothing
manly about going on safe network say you do this
or that. You know, if you didn't do it in
the moment, you lost the opportunity. You don't get the
capture of the moment. Thirty four fur ago with American

(01:29:43):
Crime Story or True Detective return? Oh yeah, Jeff, Now
that is not doing doing blade.

Speaker 3 (01:29:49):
Will he go back to True Detective?

Speaker 1 (01:29:51):
What do you think.

Speaker 2 (01:29:53):
True Detective will return? It'll be Is Lopez again.

Speaker 1 (01:29:56):
Yeah.

Speaker 2 (01:29:58):
And the American Crime Story I'm sure will or return
at some point too. You gotta find right crime.

Speaker 3 (01:30:03):
Yep, see black says.

Speaker 1 (01:30:04):
Deadline reported two hundred and seventy five million people watch
the doomsday stream. Wow, it's a pretty good, pretty good number.

Speaker 3 (01:30:11):
I don't know if that's true.

Speaker 1 (01:30:12):
Two hundred and seventy five million. You gotta figure out
how they like watch like stopped in for five minutes.
I don't know how they do a view there. So
all right here, let's have some stream labs here, Jeff
Mike Choyce. I hope we get a Deadpool of Wolverine's gamut.
I ain't normal, daddy, but I'm sure I shot out
of his dick. Ready. Yeah, he was laying them buttery
nuts all up in my mama, and I shot out

(01:30:33):
of there. And I'll say it, Oh, what's a dog?
Is hilarious to me? Need more lines like that?

Speaker 3 (01:30:39):
God, I will not.

Speaker 1 (01:30:40):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (01:30:41):
I think Doomsday is supposed to be a much more
serious film.

Speaker 2 (01:30:44):
Yeah, what's the question.

Speaker 1 (01:30:47):
Do you want to see Channing Tatum do some dialogue
from Deadpool of Wolverine in Doomsday?

Speaker 3 (01:30:53):
Like that kind of style of dialogue with that?

Speaker 2 (01:30:56):
Think they'll they'll ask him to dial it back. Detail
here in a Deadline story on Salky Okay, Fleming is
saying that he's hearing a condition of Amy Pascal and
David Hayman signing on to James Bond is that they
report to Courtney Valenti and not to Salky. Wow, before
Salkie was basically fired. Jesus, it was basically those two. Pascal,

(01:31:22):
a former studio head, Hayman the producer of Harry Potter,
being like agreeing with what they'd heard from Broccoli, like
these people are idiots to some extent, and being like,
if we're going to do this, we're reporting to Courtney,
who is one of us, right, who David worked with
Harry Potter, and who's a studio person, rather than Jensalki,
who's a TV person. Yeah, that makes a lot of sense.

Speaker 3 (01:31:43):
So, by the way, let me ask you something.

Speaker 1 (01:31:46):
A couple of my friends who watched the studio said
that Catherine a Heara is maybe a version of Amy.
Do you agree?

Speaker 2 (01:31:55):
She might as well be called any passcal in the ship? Okay,
there's no maybe about it.

Speaker 1 (01:32:02):
Sir Anonymous said, sorry if this is a stupid question,
But Jeff, would it be better for you if I
did the yearly subscription.

Speaker 3 (01:32:08):
Newsletter or the month a month?

Speaker 1 (01:32:10):
The reason I'm asking is because I want to support
you the most I can financially.

Speaker 2 (01:32:13):
Oh, there you go, job listen, it's simple math. You know,
if you're going month to month and there's twelve months,
you're gonna wind up paying one hundred and twenty dollars
compared to one hundred dollars. Yeah, you're the annual. But
I also understand some people don't have the one hundred
dollars all at once, and they're like, I can only
do ten dollars each month, and you know that makes
sense too. As of now, I don't see myself changing

(01:32:35):
the pricing, but you never know. But I appreciate it
no matter however you choose.

Speaker 1 (01:32:40):
Thank you very much, fantastic three fourteen. Sup Hop Mike.
This messages for all those combic nerds who are not athletic.
The chair reveal was exactly like how the NFL draft
goes respect to Marvel. Actually that's a great comparison, Jeff.
A lot of build up, you're on the clock, and
then the name gets an ounced with a chair coming

(01:33:01):
out instead of a human being coming out.

Speaker 3 (01:33:03):
I think that's a good connection.

Speaker 2 (01:33:05):
Yeah, it is similar to a draft, except you know,
there's nothing in between. There's no like right, yeah, there's
no filler, and that's what they should have had. They
should have had and give a shit if it's Cooy
and Greg right, you know, who are great. They could
have been there in between being like, oh, you know
Tom Hidleson, he appeared in four the Marvel movies. What

(01:33:25):
do you think about Tom hidleson coming back what you know,
just something in between. But obviously you can't give that
kind of exposure when you have three hundred million people watching.

Speaker 1 (01:33:34):
Exactly class as you're implying. Aaron Pierre was offered black panther.
Imagine the meltdown of a light skinned actor playing the
African son of two dark skinned characters.

Speaker 3 (01:33:44):
I don't know, Jeff, I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:33:47):
Yeah, you're expecting to comment on light skin versus dark
skin in the MCU.

Speaker 1 (01:33:52):
Come on, Fantastic three fourteen. I too had a dream
work James gun what eight?

Speaker 3 (01:33:59):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (01:34:01):
Uh, fantastically fourteen. I two had a dream where James
Gunn came to me. I told him to stop responding
to the trolls on socials and he said, fuck off.
I'm two fly cam. Hello, guys, cautious, if you have
any tea on the Grogu movie the Mandalorian and Grogu
movie trailer for celebration maybe also with AHSCA currently shooting,

(01:34:22):
how terrible and mediocre do you both think the writing
will be? And or in the re release of episode three,
will give me my Star Wars fix? I guess yeah,
I don't have a lot of hope for Ahsoka for sure.

Speaker 3 (01:34:34):
Trailer for Celebration.

Speaker 1 (01:34:36):
Yeah, I guess that makes sense. But yeah, what do
you think about the for Mandalorian and Grogu? What do
you think about that, jeff An, have you heard anything
on it?

Speaker 2 (01:34:45):
Uh? I think fans of the show will be I
think I think that the important thing for them, the
message that they're trying to get across with this movie
is that this is not just a movie for fans
of the show, that you can show up line and
still enjoy the story that we're telling here, and you
don't need to have seen three seasons in the Mandalorian
or whatever it is.

Speaker 3 (01:35:06):
Yeah, that's that's got to be the the path they walk.

Speaker 2 (01:35:10):
There you go, Disney, I just did something that you
probably pay someone a million dollars to consult for you one.

Speaker 1 (01:35:17):
Uh, okay, let's see what's the next one here?

Speaker 3 (01:35:21):
This one is from Doug Developer. What's up, Doug?

Speaker 1 (01:35:23):
He said, so weird seeing Pta tackle a film set
in relative modern day. Would love to see QT follow
suit would be even weirder. Tarantina would be even weirder.
If we were to see Daniel day Lewis in a
film where he drives a car and uses a smartphone.
Has he ever appeared in a film set in the present? Oh,
has Daniel da Lewis ever appeared in the film set
in the present? Jeff, do you remember anything that he's

(01:35:45):
appeared in? Well, I mean Punchdruck Love was set in
the present for uh Pta, Yeah, I have no I
have no idea.

Speaker 2 (01:35:56):
It's quite that's a good question. But yeah, me, it's
a Meatia question for right now.

Speaker 1 (01:36:02):
Yeah, I don't know when where Ballad of Jack and
Rose was set, but yeah, I mean like all of
his stuff is in the past. Yeah, fair points. All right,
good question man, even Gandhi.

Speaker 2 (01:36:15):
When you have a Standler movie or just like.

Speaker 1 (01:36:23):
Mike Green seventy four says, hello out law, a few questions,
please answer? What is your favorite Black Mirr episode minus
meat metal Head to stop stalling? Where is your political show?

Speaker 3 (01:36:34):
Come on?

Speaker 1 (01:36:34):
And Third, I'm liking, not loving what I see from
PTA you. Yeah, I thought it was an okay trailer.
I think this is This is lower rent DiCaprio that
I can believe more than Killers of the Flower Moon.
And I love that end beat with him and Benicio
del Toro. Well, I'm looking forward to more than anybody

(01:36:54):
else in a in a PTA movie. So yeah, overall,
I thought it was fine trailer, but I know this
film is gonna be very divisive. Jeff, do you have
a Black Mirror episode that you like? Did you ever
watch Black Mirror?

Speaker 2 (01:37:09):
What's Black Mirror? Dude? No? I fucking love Black Mirror.
I like the one I think it's called Shut Up
and Dance where he makes the kid go around robbing
banks and stuff. Oh, I had that was pretty crazy
with like that face.

Speaker 1 (01:37:27):
What's the one with John Hamm where they've got the little.

Speaker 2 (01:37:32):
Usually the ones with how the celebrities that are my favorite.

Speaker 3 (01:37:35):
Okay, I can't remember what it was.

Speaker 1 (01:37:37):
It was a technology one where your entire soul was
in the egg or whatever.

Speaker 3 (01:37:41):
But I can't remember what that one was, but I
thought that one was amazing. I love that.

Speaker 2 (01:37:45):
I like the Daniel Luia one where he's like on
the treadmill, like running and running, you know, for points
a million miles away.

Speaker 3 (01:37:52):
I think I need to watch those more.

Speaker 1 (01:37:55):
Carl said, is Darren Aronofsky still directing Plastic Man? Also?
Which characters are currently being cast in the DC Realm?
I don't know, Jeff, do you know who characters being
cast in DC realm.

Speaker 2 (01:38:08):
Um, just supporting cast for Sergeant.

Speaker 3 (01:38:12):
Rock and Lanterns, which just got announced today.

Speaker 2 (01:38:15):
I'm still doing drips and drabs of you know, Jasmine
Cephas Jones joined.

Speaker 1 (01:38:19):
Today today, AREONOFSKI for Plastic Man's that's still happening.

Speaker 3 (01:38:23):
I don't I don't know if.

Speaker 2 (01:38:26):
There's there's yeah, there's there's something in Lanterns. I wonder
if it'll get out before.

Speaker 1 (01:38:33):
Okay, Samuel says, Hey, John, I played the new Indiana
Jones game on PC. I thought it was great, better
than the last two movies. It's coming out on PS
five next month. Great, you should definitely pick it. I will.
I would love to hear your thoughts. Plus, it's one
of Tony Todd's last appearances. Oh, I was in the
Inania Jones game. Great, I will absolutely get it. I
gotta jump on Assassin's Creed right now soon. But yeah,

(01:38:53):
that's my life, all right. I think that's everything. Jeff
uh no other strong super che Yeah that's it, buddy,
we didn't have didn't do it. Oh way here mister
Poppy sending love to the hot Ike. Keep up the
great work, bros.

Speaker 3 (01:39:06):

Speaker 1 (01:39:08):
Kyle Fielder, don't I don't think that Bob the Builder
movie with Anthony Ramos is the lead for Amazon MGM
is happening. I didn't even know that was.

Speaker 2 (01:39:18):
I have no idea. Yeah, it's still like that feels
like something from ten years ago. Bob the Builder. Yeah,
I don't know who that is.

Speaker 1 (01:39:28):
Yeah, yeah, I don't see either. All right, that's everything.
Thank you all so much for hanging out with us today.
