Speaker 1 (00:00):
So what's happened and people, welcome back to the Internet
Wrestling Podcast and the four Horsemen of Internet or here
and ready to talk about some nonsense that went on
last week in the wrestling community. Jacks Forrest committings that
happened after we had recorded last week. And then we're
going to I think we talked about this like maybe
two shows ago. We're going to revisit our preseason NCAA
(00:24):
Picks or NCAA Champion Picks. I should say, are we
sticking or kicking is what we'll call it. Are we
sticking with the guys that we picked or are we
kicking them to the curb and picking up somebody new?
So first off the top, before we you know, get
in anything, let's let's talk nonsense. And there were some
(00:46):
There's been like a lot of stuff that's going on
this this year in wrestling that has had people talking
and kind of taking sides, you know, celebration from you know,
uh a nice little gun celebration that we talked about,
Carter Sarachi and and Gay Arnold talking ship which in
another match that never came to fruition No.
Speaker 2 (01:07):
Pirate Body and Carter Stracci this weekend on Twitter.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
And the thing is is that seton on Pirate, that's
just that's just him. Like he's a very He's just
a matter of fact person. So it wasn't like he
was like, yes, he has sarcasm and he's got humor,
but that's like just him and for people that.
Speaker 3 (01:26):
Have no idea, there's no nuance at all.
Speaker 1 (01:29):
Yeah, and it's and it's funny to see how people
respond to him who have no idea that Carter is
just Carter or excuse me that that Pirate is just
pirate and him responding to Carter is just like that's
just how he speaks to people all the time. So
that was that was pretty funny. And I like had
to look at how people responded to to Pirate and
(01:53):
I'm like, these people have no idea, Like this is
a grown ass man and this is literally just how
he is.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
The man has an avacus that should tell you a
lot about him.
Speaker 1 (02:03):
He he does deeper dives when it comes to stats
than most people, and it's yeah, he's he's just pirate.
Speaker 3 (02:12):
Pirate is that's just him. Uh So that was that
was funny.
Speaker 1 (02:17):
The thing that that I think Robbie you might have
mentioned it on on Twitter. I know, I know, uh
who else mentioned it? Brock said something.
Speaker 2 (02:28):
We both riled up the Iowa base this weekend.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, And it was it was Terry going
into the crowd and and you know I saw pictures
of him like flexing with some Nebraska fans.
Speaker 3 (02:40):
So let's get into it. How how do you guys feel?
Speaker 1 (02:43):
And I'm gonna I'm gonna let Robbie get get the
fans back riled up again, let him kick things.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Off with people haven't liked me my entire life.
Speaker 3 (02:50):
So what, well, what are your thoughts on this?
Speaker 4 (02:53):
Right?
Speaker 1 (02:53):
Like we we we always say we don't want robots
in the sport, right, we want people with personality.
Speaker 3 (03:00):
But then there are times where people do cross the line.
But as we've.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
Seen with the with the jet Strickenberger little whatever you
want to call it, the gun celebration or whatever, there
are people that were on both sides of that right
where they're like, he went too far, or no, he
didn't cross the line. Whatever else. We've seen Terry do
things over the years, whether it's a headstand or stand
(03:26):
on a chair or whatever else. And you know, now
he's gone into the crowd and messing with the posing fans.
Did he cross the line or is this just another
Terry being Terry moment?
Speaker 2 (03:39):
Well, I think it's Terry being Terry. But the issue
that I had with it is that, and you know,
we're robot thing aside, like, yes, we want coaches to
have character and to be you know, out there and
put themselves out there and show their personality. That's great.
The the issue that I've highlighted is that one that's
(04:01):
a blatant violation of the rules to leave the bench
and going to the stands, But that that's not something
that would happen or be tolerated in any other sport.
Can you I mean, can you imagine an offensive coordinator
leaving the sideline and going up into the stands to
mess with a team, mess with a fan with the
opposing team. It's just it doesn't make sense. And you know,
(04:24):
that interaction was wholesome. Great, the backstory is like the
guy got kicked out and Terry was vouching for him. Fantastic,
that's great. But my issue was that just in general,
Terry doesn't have a wish. He's allowed to get away with,
effectively whatever behavior he wants on the on the mat,
(04:45):
off the mat, around the mat, apparently in the stands,
and it's it's behavior that wouldn't be accepted by a
lot of other programs and a lot of other schools
wouldn't tolerat it. And that was my statement, was just
that it's not something that that we had ever seen
in another sport and why would that why should that
be okay for for our sport? And the reaction that
(05:05):
I got was effectively split down the middle, and it
was Iowa fan saying, I'm an idiot, I'm old, I
hate fun, I don't know anything about wrestling. It's just
Terry being Terry. Lighten up all that, you know, shit
you get when people don't actually know what's going on
(05:26):
or what you're trying to say. But the other side
of it was, you know, opposing fans or fans from
opposing teams who have seen the same thing, who've seen
Terry kind of run am up and do what he
wants and brought kind of highlighted that as well in
some of his posts, and you saw in the documentary
they did on him that floated on him like he
(05:48):
is a wild card. He always has been, and at
some point we've got to have some expectations of what
is and what isn't appropriate for a coach to do.
And that's it's weird to me. It varies so much
from program to program what's acceptable.
Speaker 3 (06:05):
I can agree with that. Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 1 (06:09):
We we talked about egregious headgear tosses, you know before,
and we've seen them and team points get taken away
for just like the slightest thing. And I mean, the
fact that team points can get taken away is always
going to be stupid to me, that's that's really dumb.
But I think you're right, right, Like I think a
lot of people choked it. It just kind of chalked
(06:32):
it up to Terry being terry because like I said,
we've seen him stand on chairs or stand on his
head or you know, or do whatever on the bench
right like this, but this was different because he left
the bench to go do it, which is what I
think you're you're saying is like we have to have
a little bit more decorum in that regard to leave
(06:54):
the bench and go, you know, whoop it up with
fans opposing fans at that and you know, for a
guy to get kicked out and just like how it
all transpired and obviously, like I didn't. I just saw pictures.
I didn't see the clip, so I'm not going off
of that. I'm seeing stories and what everybody is saying
who were there? So obviously this is me reacting to
what everybody is saying about how it happened. But like,
(07:17):
I do think that we need some sort of decorum,
right because we only see this. We don't see this
from other teams. We don't see this from other coaches.
And I love the passion. I'm not one of those
be a robot kind of.
Speaker 3 (07:32):
Kind of a person. I've never been that kind of
a person.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
You know when when Chad Red won his fourth Indiana
state title and he went and jumped in the stands,
and you know, that's something that we see when guys
win titles. You you know, you go win a title,
whatever else, you celebrate with fans, or you dance whatever else, Like, yeah,
go have fun, but let's let's keep it, keep it
in the lane, right, So I think like the fact
(07:57):
that there's only one person doing it is why people
would be against it. But also I was going to
ride for Iowa. It's what they have always done and
will always do, which is like the thing that kind
of sucks. Is like you got to call out craziness
(08:18):
when it crosses the line, no matter if they're wearing
black and gold or blue and white, right, like so yeah,
I mean, like I said, I hate the whole robot talk,
but I think if he keeps his antics to the
bench area and he's not jumping into the stands during
a duel meet or whatever else, like whatever to me,
but like, like him standing on his head was hilarious,
(08:38):
Like that was one of the funniest things. Like I
thought that was hilarious when I saw that. I didn't
have a problem with it. He's on the bench, like
you wanna do whatever, Like, as long as you're not
crossing the line, I'm good with it.
Speaker 2 (08:49):
Even if you want to mess with opposing fans from
the bench, like if you want to jaw people, it's
not for me, Like that's not what I would do
as a coach.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
Which is funny because the weak pride the story is
that Gay Arnold was removed from the bench for talking
to fans. So it just was like a you know,
I guess it kind of a hypocritical type of a
thing if those stories are what they are, right, like
and again, I'm taking it from other people who were
(09:19):
there and sawid or talked about it or whatever else.
You have Gay Arnold getting into it with Penn State
fans and he's removed from the bench to protect himself.
But you also have his own coach going into the
stands in Nebraska and doing whatever.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
Well, it's fun. It's funny though, because you know, I
think about that, and I think about my dad, and
my dad used to and he would say it jokingly,
knowing it was completely hypocritical, but he would say, do
as I say, not as I do, you know, and
you know he would laugh when he said it. But
it's like, I'm sure that's part of the sentiment. I
(09:55):
talked about it with you guys after we recorded a
couple of weeks ago. Like Terry's in the background, I'm
just shaking, Like he's not. He's like so into every
single match.
Speaker 3 (10:04):
And I don't think I love right.
Speaker 4 (10:06):
I don't mean that in a negative way at all.
He's he's losing his mind and we love it. Passion
is is something you cannot teach and if it's completely disingenuous,
it it it's lost, honest, right, So there's there's that
piece of it. The other analogy I used in the
group chat was just, you know, he's the Draymond greened
(10:28):
of of you know this, He's just he's broken the
referees and they don't They're just like, just stay off
the mat, terry. If you stay off the mat will
be fined. Just stay away from the mat. But it's
funny because I was literally watching a Warriors game yesterday
and Draymond still gets technical, you know, like.
Speaker 3 (10:50):
Probably easier than most, honest.
Speaker 4 (10:53):
Yeah, But like I think the point we're trying to
get at is like this is like super against the rules.
You probably can't run in to the stands.
Speaker 5 (11:01):
You still gotsfittack every once in a while, you know,
at home, and you know, hey, he's the backstory turning
out to be better than the visual of him just
getting in you know, an opposing fans face at home,
Like that's not something.
Speaker 4 (11:17):
You can do or that we condone, or that anyone
should condone. You know. But at the end of the day,
this particular situation, I'm glad it's fine. I would be
shocked if they're like, dude, stop running into the stands,
Like with how close that duel was you gotta you
gotta get it under control at least. Like remember when
(11:39):
Barry Davis would like be so amped up that he
would just go sit in the stands.
Speaker 6 (11:47):
They would interview him and he's like, yeah, this guy
from the stands and give answers to it.
Speaker 7 (11:51):
Was great.
Speaker 4 (11:51):
Yeah, Like maybe that's what we need from Terry, is like,
you go, if you're gonna just start running into the
stands anyway, start there.
Speaker 2 (12:00):
I think that the thing that concerned me and not
that you know this is going to continue happening or
that it's a multiple time incident, but like the idea
that this is a sport where we have a lot
of very amped up people in the stands, some of
whom we are drunk, very behind their team, and generally
(12:22):
a lot of testosterone and ego flying around. I don't
think it's a good idea to run into the stands
mid duel and engage with the opposing team, whether you're
a multiple time national champ or not. Like, it's just
not it's not a good look. And I don't know,
I just that's what's definitely. I just don't like. I
(12:44):
don't like the idea of a coach leaving the floor
and going into the stands. And you know, I was
at the UVA Duel when I saw the picture of this,
and I was talking to Garland and I was like,
you know, what would happen if you were to do this?
He said, I wouldn't have a job, because that's that's
the reality of it, is, like that's a blatant violation
(13:05):
of what you're expected to do as a coach. And
you know, like you've said, he's broken the refs, and
there's I think you could argue that there's probably a
few coaches in the NCAA and you know, with John
Smith and his amazing best collection having just retired, he
was another one that had and got away with wild
(13:27):
behavior and pushing boundaries with the refs that other people
don't get away with. And it's it's hard to see
that that is not an equal expectation across the board.
Speaker 1 (13:38):
Like I said, I don't I think the only thing
like if he's talking to this fan from the bench,
he's talking to this fan from the bench, but like
you know, leaving the bench doing anything and interacting with
fans like that, it's just not I don't think it's okay,
you know, And he said I love Terry's passion. I
(13:59):
think he's an absolute lovable maniac. Or maybe he's or
maybe some you know, some people think he's an asshole.
Whatever it is, I I don't think, so why not
vote he's Yeah, Like I think everybody, I think, honestly,
every wrestler has that right, Like, if you're not a
bit of an asshole, you're probably not going to be
very elite or you know, last in the sport. To
be completely honest, you're just not going to last in
(14:22):
sports in general if you're if you're not a little
bit of an asshole. But like, it's it's those kind
of things where people hesitate to, I guess, like apply
accountability because there are certain situations and certain people that
do get a certain type of just.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
Leeway when things happen.
Speaker 1 (14:46):
So what do you guys make of Jack's forest heading
off to still Water and him and his very awesome
teammate bow Bassett splitting up the band once they decide
to leave Pennsylvania.
Speaker 2 (15:03):
I think it's a great fit.
Speaker 7 (15:05):
Yeah, great fit for Jack's We kind of assume that
would happen.
Speaker 4 (15:08):
We kind of breth, you.
Speaker 6 (15:10):
Know, hinting that last week is that's our assumption, you know,
just based on who he's been training with, Who's who's
been in his corner at some of these events.
Speaker 7 (15:19):
I think it is interesting.
Speaker 6 (15:20):
He wrestled Gilman at the Olympic Trials, and Gilman's going
to be in his corner now, you know.
Speaker 7 (15:24):
So that's an interesting dynamic. I don't think too many
high schoolers have gone through, but.
Speaker 1 (15:29):
Gilman just coaching all the guys that he wrestled against.
First it was fixed, and yeah, now it's going to
be Jack's forest.
Speaker 4 (15:35):
Well, it's funny how many, yeah, how many coaches have
had that experience, you know, where now you're like, hey,
I beat you, you know, eighteen months ago. How about
you come wrestled for me now? Right? But yeah, wild,
I mean it's awesome for the Cowboys, it's I mean,
they're they're continuing to load up. They're they're putting together
(15:56):
really really good incoming class to go along with you
know a lot of youth that's still gonna be sticking around, right,
I mean, they're not losing much. They even bringing in
a guy like Caleb Fish or whatever, like, oh my goodness,
I'm blanking on the kid's name. Who who's red shirting
this year, who was one fifty seven last year for
him n CUAA qualifier and was really good. Same with
(16:21):
with with sixty five, with with cam Amane. I mean,
like they're not losing talent when those guys graduate, right,
They're they're just going to reload and recycle those other
guys in their dj hammity as well, so they'll be
they'll be just as good, if not better, next year.
Speaker 3 (16:38):
Yeah they pick up. Yeah not, I don't think.
Speaker 1 (16:43):
I don't think as much as others are though, you know,
and that's that's the thing I think we we talked
about that before too, is you know, there are coaches
that are staying traditional and you're you're seeing how Taylor
is a man of his word in regards to wanting
to invest more in the RTC than than in anything,
(17:07):
because that RTC is going to be a huge builder
of your your actual recruits, Because recruits now, as they
are worried about NCAA Championships, they're more worried about not
maybe not some more, but the the Olympics and the
world titles and stuff is equally as important.
Speaker 3 (17:27):
Right.
Speaker 1 (17:27):
The the guys like Taylor, like Burrows, like Dake, you know,
they have, you know, like Gilman, they have made it
a way more popular talking point during recruiting of well,
what what is you know, We're yeah, we're going to
be there for for four years? Certainly, well what's going
(17:49):
to happen on the freestyle side? Freestyle and the international
side of things has become a lot more important. And
I think for you know, a guy like Jacks Forrest,
we've already seen how important the international side is. You know,
he's a gonna be he's a high school junior and
made the Olympic trials, right like, that's a very big deal.
(18:10):
And so you definitely see how important that is. And
then you know, even even what was it last week
where you're seeing how they're investing more in the RTC
where they.
Speaker 3 (18:18):
Brought in the heavyweight? Where's the heavyweight from? I missed that.
I can''s what I'm looking.
Speaker 4 (18:23):
I'm trying to find it right now. But yeah, right yeah,
I think so yeah.
Speaker 1 (18:30):
Yeah, yeah, So they're they're doing that, you know, they're
they're he is sticking by his statement of we're going
to invest in this, and then they're also getting you know,
and their investment in folks style is with bringing national
duels back as well. So I think they're doing great
things and who kind of one wouldn't want to be
(18:51):
a part of that.
Speaker 3 (18:51):
You know, they get two of.
Speaker 1 (18:52):
The top five guys, top five recruits in that class
to commit to them verbally. You know, that's let's always
make sure that we throw that in there until these guys,
excuse me, until these guys sign these are verbal commitments and.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
A lot of change to sign.
Speaker 1 (19:09):
They still no, they still do letter the the the
letter of intent hasn't gone away yet because the house
versus NTA A case is not done. So I think
when that is completely done, they they'll look more like
contracts than anything. But they still have to sign something
(19:32):
that they are going to be going to that school,
and so there still is a letter of intent that
they uh that they have to sign. But yeah, at
some point there will be. But like I said, gotta remember,
like there's still verbal commitments. I mean, hell, if you
go back through Kerkfleet's social posts, you'll see him in
(19:55):
every single singlet, you know, and a lot of different
singlets before landing on the the blue one that he
wears now right there, there was a number of them
that were in there, so these are verbal commitments.
Speaker 3 (20:06):
I do.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
I do think that these these guys are you know,
I guess teenagers of their word. Can't even say like
a man of their word because they're seventeen. But like,
I think that they will stick with where they said
they're going to go. But what are your guys thoughts
on the fit for Jacks Farrest going to Oklahoma State.
Speaker 3 (20:27):
Robbie, I know you had something to say.
Speaker 2 (20:30):
Yes, stylewise, I think it's great. I mean, he's he's
I think he's going to fit in well with David
and I don't know, he's pretty wide open and I
think that's kind of what they're going for. I think
it's a great place for him. I think it's going
to be really good for him to be able to
build his identity outside of being Bo's teammate. We were talking
about beforehand, but he's a fun Twitter follow. He's a
(20:52):
funny kid, and I think it's going to be nice
that he'll be in a place where he's able to
kind of show that personality a little bit too.
Speaker 6 (21:01):
I think it goes to show the we touch on
every once in a while, the marketability and how far
that goes for a guy like Bo Bassett. You know,
you put Bo's stats in a hat with Jack's forrest,
and they're they're pretty damn even.
Speaker 7 (21:14):
You know. It's it's not like Bo is way better
than the other.
Speaker 6 (21:17):
Obviously, they're both really talented guys, and Bo just has
that marketability where his announcement was some huge, big ordeal
and Jackson's was just kind of a simple interview, you
know what I mean. It's I'm not saying it, they're
they're not saying they're not comparable, but you know, I
think BO just has that marketability factor behind them, which
takes him kind of over the top. And Jack's you said,
(21:39):
more laid back, a little more quiet, but every good
as a talented wrestler too, And yeah, I just thought
that was different. I thought that was unique in the
difference of how those commitments were handled. When you know
they're they're like one and two in the big board,
you know, they're they're they're really damn close to each
other talent wise.
Speaker 1 (21:57):
Yeah, yeah, marketability is certainly a big factor. And Jacks Farst.
If people do not follow Jacks Farst, you should. He
is really really funny. The post I think, Robbie, is
that you that shared it in our in our.
Speaker 2 (22:11):
Group, yeah, I think so. Somebody posted about him getting
paid like six million or something to go to Glooma State,
and his reply was like, well really that sounds awesome.
Speaker 1 (22:21):
Yeah, Like you know, to see these guys interact with
the I guess like the rumor mill of what they're getting,
and how he responded, you know, it's pretty funny.
Speaker 4 (22:33):
You know.
Speaker 1 (22:33):
I love guy when guys show personality outside of like
just being a wrestler, which I think is pretty cool.
Speaker 3 (22:41):
And Jackson's he's like a pretty cool late back kid.
Speaker 1 (22:43):
And I mean even down to when he tweeted something about,
you know, Noe note to any other wrestler, don't don't
commit one when cutting weight, right, like just just you know,
just different jokes and stuff that he's been putting out.
Speaker 3 (23:01):
So I think it. I think it is a good
fit for him.
Speaker 1 (23:03):
I think it's gonna be good for him to go
to Oklahoma State, work with Gilman, work with Fix and
obviously work with Taylor and those guys too. But you know,
you know, he'll certainly be probably more with Dayton, Fix
and and Gilman and and I think Zoe might still
be around and part of the RTC as well too,
So it's a good fit. And and that's also why
(23:25):
I kind of thought that Bo would go to Oklahoma State,
you know, all Iowa fanship aside, I thought style wise,
him working with Taylor would have been a really good fit,
considering Taylor is a guy that we've seen attack like
a rabid dog, similar to the way that Bo is.
(23:46):
So that's why, you know, I thought that that was
going to be a really good fit for him. But
that's what it is. But the top five guys are
off the board. Virginia Tech gets one, Oklahoma State gets
two of them. I would it's one, and then what
was the other one? It was it there's and yeah,
(24:08):
and Blaze goes to Penn State. Yeah, so gonna gonna
see some really good wrestle on the next level for
that class. And it's awesome that they're all you know,
spread out to right, like, you know, yeah, Marcus Blaze.
Speaker 3 (24:25):
Good that they're all spread out to right.
Speaker 4 (24:26):
Like Joey's already committed.
Speaker 3 (24:29):
Yeah, he's he's got a team already. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (24:33):
But yeah, I mean, we're gonna see some pretty good
competition certainly over the next couple of years. Not to
say that we ever wouldn't, but you know, when the
top five guys are kind of spread out throughout the
country and can't help but to get some really good
matches between you know, some.
Speaker 3 (24:49):
Some different parody. But speaking of good matches.
Speaker 1 (24:53):
We made some picks, our n c A champion picks
at the beginning of the season. Three months ago is
when we made these picks, and I said we would
come back to them, and now is the perfect time
to take a look. You know, we're we're a little
over halfway through the season, and you know, we're what
probably like a month away from NCAA, So we'll do another.
(25:13):
We'll do another pick them before the NCAA tournament comes around.
But let's let's take a look at our picks, play
a little sticking or kicking. At one twenty five, I
picked Figs, Robbie picked Ramos, Austin Picknoo, who was even
at one twenty five at this point, and Kevin picked
(25:36):
joy Volk, who isn't at twenty five anymore either because
of injury. So I am going to I am going
to stick with my pick for right now. I'm going
to stick with Figs that he had. I understand, I
know that I know that it is. It is a
bold move. I'm not gonna give up on him just
(25:59):
yet because he's had a season that hasn't had a
lot of competition in it. So I'm not going to
veer off because we've seen guys more than we've seen him.
I think he needed time to recover from an injury
and the true tests are still coming kind of down
(26:20):
the pipeline, So I'm gonna stick with Figs at one
twenty five.
Speaker 3 (26:25):
Robbie, are you sticking with Ramos?
Speaker 2 (26:28):
I think so. I mean, he's done nothing but impress
all year long. He doesn't look like anybody's in a
position to stop him. I think the other side to
that is I very much see the possibility of the
other finalists coming out of the ACC. Twenty five has
really emerged as one of the deeper weights and top
heavyweights for the ACC, and there's gonna be a big
(26:50):
show down this weekend or in the next couple of
weeks at twenty five to see who's on top to
get the top seed to go in. So it's gonna
be fun to.
Speaker 1 (26:58):
Watch Austin Who's who is now your guy? Since Noto
is at one thirty three, you.
Speaker 2 (27:06):
Can still pick him.
Speaker 1 (27:07):
He's having a rough season, but yeah, you can still
pick him if you want. He might drop down. You
never know, it's the end of it's you know, it's
it's that ascension plan.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
He might be coming down. But no, who who are
you taking at twenty five?
Speaker 6 (27:20):
I'm gonna piggyback on what Robbie was saying. I really
like Vincent Robinson. He looks strong, he's quick. I haven't
seen him lose yet, big win over somebody has technically now, yeah,
I mean know that injury de fault loss if you
count that.
Speaker 1 (27:36):
I saw that, Yeah, and that that counts, by the way,
in case you guys didn't know, just count.
Speaker 2 (27:44):
But I don't like to.
Speaker 6 (27:46):
Call that a loss though I don't count it. But yeah,
I like Vincent Robinson. Just really impressive. And I know
the weight cut is a big poll for him, but
assuming he has an under control, I like.
Speaker 7 (27:57):
I like him.
Speaker 2 (27:59):
He's seems to and he's he's he's wide open, he's dangerous.
That match with Ben Truska in a couple of weeks
is gonna.
Speaker 7 (28:06):
Be Yeah, I want to see that one for sure.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
Yeah, Well, I wish Vulk was healthy. I do, because
I do. I think that a healthy Volk still would
probably be very dangerous. And this is one of the
more wide open weights that we're going to discuss. But
call me the Kansas City Chiefs because I'm punting and
I'm going to go with I'm gonna go with Matt Ramos.
(28:31):
Go with Matt Ramos. Let's go. I got no reason
not to.
Speaker 1 (28:36):
Very true, very true. Yeah, that I'm sure that made
Austin pretty happy. Is he's rocking his Eagles jersey.
Speaker 4 (28:42):
That was.
Speaker 1 (28:42):
That was a Lehah Valley led team, by the way,
just just letting you guys know there are two guys
on that team from le Valley that put in some work.
Speaker 3 (28:49):
So just to remind you, and.
Speaker 4 (28:52):
There was an Iowa guy Iowa. Let's remind the Iowa
fans that we don't hate them.
Speaker 7 (28:56):
That's true.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Cooper Cooper Cooper Cooper degen.
Speaker 1 (29:02):
First first interception of the year and it goes for
pick six in the Super Bowl on his twenty second birthday.
Speaker 3 (29:10):
Him and Saquon Barkee share a birthday. Isn't that something?
Speaker 1 (29:14):
Speaking of Saquon, he just quotes sweeted that clip of
him wrestling as a little kid, uh and said live
live by the headlock, die by the headlock.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
But let's move to thirty three.
Speaker 1 (29:28):
And at one thirty three, I went with Bird, Robbie
was with Bailey, Austin had crook them, and Kevin took Davis. So, Kevin,
I'm gonna start with you, because I'm still trying to
make up my own mind of of whether I stick
with Bird or not.
Speaker 3 (29:48):
What are you? What are you thinking?
Speaker 1 (29:50):
You sticking with Davis or are you going to continue
to be the Kansas City chiefs in this regard?
Speaker 4 (29:55):
Dude, this this weight is so nuts because like I
can still convince myself that healthy Brandon Davis coming back,
I could win at all. I could start talking myself
into Braxton Brown at this point, right, like just to
head a nice win over bezakas so over the weekend
or no shover. That's what it was. Well, my initials
(30:21):
are KC. So I'm gonna punt again. I'm gonna go Uh,
I'm gonna go Drake Ayala go Iowa to have Terry
run into the stands or throw him like he did. Uh,
Corey Clark Clark through him.
Speaker 3 (30:38):
That's what it was, Clark through him.
Speaker 4 (30:40):
Yeah, Austin, you we had Drake Drake had a big
l this past weekend, but it was a different Drake,
so we're fine.
Speaker 3 (30:49):
Yes, very very true.
Speaker 1 (30:50):
It was not a good week for drakes, uh, the
non singlet wearing drakes.
Speaker 4 (30:55):
We're gonna start off strong for the singlet wearing ones right.
Speaker 3 (30:57):
Now, Austin, are you sticking in the i w A
or are you.
Speaker 7 (31:05):
Are?
Speaker 3 (31:05):
Are you holding out hope and fate that he comes back?
Speaker 6 (31:07):
First of all, I was just about to say, as
the weeks go on here, I think there's better chance
we do see him any i WA's and there's still
questions of him returning before that to get three more
matches under his belt to get that eight match minimum.
I don't think we'll see that, but I do think
we'll see him an the i w AS.
Speaker 1 (31:29):
Let's not send him to any of these these tournaments
where he wrestles for for two seconds and they default.
Speaker 3 (31:35):
Let's not do that.
Speaker 7 (31:36):
Let's not that's not anymore.
Speaker 6 (31:38):
But yeah, I hope not, and I don't think Crooking
is the guy to do that. I think you go
out and tech for all the guys and get off
the mat quick.
Speaker 2 (31:44):
But in two seconds, though, well, I don't know.
Speaker 6 (31:48):
I've seen that impressive. Yeah, I'm gonna stick with him,
assuming he's he's back. I think he's still the top
dog there.
Speaker 3 (32:00):
Robbie, I don't know.
Speaker 2 (32:04):
It's it's hard to pick Crookham just because of the unknown.
I think thirty three is a pretty crazy wait. I
could definitely see Bailey still winning it.
Speaker 7 (32:15):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (32:16):
Him getting pinned by Zeth Romney is kind of weird.
I think I think I'm gonna stick with it. I
think I think I like that. Yeah, let's stick with
this year.
Speaker 1 (32:29):
Yeah, I'm I'm torn between agreeing with Robbie or agreeing
with Kevin. As much as I would love to see
crook And winning, I think he wins it next year.
I don't know he's he is the question mark of
whether or not he is fully healthy, so it's tough
to go that route.
Speaker 3 (32:45):
And and I did say, what was this. I think.
Speaker 1 (32:53):
At the end of last season that Bailey would be
the first NCAA champ for Little Rock.
Speaker 3 (33:00):
So I'm gonna go with Bailey.
Speaker 1 (33:01):
I'm gonna I'm gonna be a man of my word
and and stick with Bailey, or go with Bailey, change
from Bird to Bailey.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
I reserved the right to change back.
Speaker 2 (33:12):
To Bird, but as like short Kings, that's all I am.
Speaker 1 (33:16):
I am all for team short King, and I love
that they They did a was a big ten a
nice little little mini, little little little mini doc on him,
and I did not I said the documentary was mini.
Speaker 3 (33:31):
He is a he is a short King through and through.
Speaker 1 (33:35):
I love Lucas Bird, but I want to see more
offense from him.
Speaker 3 (33:39):
I really really do.
Speaker 1 (33:40):
And that's the only reason why I'm moving off of
Lucas Bird. Even though a couple of years ago at
NCAA's his offense was clicking and he gave eight and
fix all he wanted.
Speaker 3 (33:53):
He has been that guy very.
Speaker 1 (33:55):
Much so yet this season where his offense has been,
he's it's just like he's kind of like Eyway, he's
kind of keeping it close to the vest I guess,
but I'm gonna go Bailey and and I still have
faith in Lucas Bird. Had a very nice dinner with
a with a mutual friend of ours. You guys know
him as Jacob Casper, others know him as is uh
(34:17):
mister Julius Creed, and he he talked about how you know,
they talk and he tries to give him some tips
and whatever. Else just kind of letting it go and saying,
who cares if you lose, you gotta kind of pull
the trigger at some point. So yeah, still got a
lot of faith in Bird, but I'm gonna I'm gonna
switch over to Bailey.
Speaker 3 (34:37):
Uh. And and I think that Bailey, as I.
Speaker 1 (34:40):
Said, Man of My Word, is going to be the
first NCAA champ before it for a little rock at one,
I'm also going to punt. And I had a Leres, Robbie,
you had brock Hardy. Austin had men very even though
rock Hardy looked very good this year, Austin had Mendez
(35:06):
and Kevin had a Lerez just like I did. And
I'm I'm going to jump on the Mendez bandwagon with Austin.
It is very tough. Even even in a close win
that he recently had. He's still the man, you know
he is. He is still the man even on his
(35:27):
worst nights. He's better than than the best, than the rest.
So give me, give me Mendes. Uh. That's who I'm
changing my pick to as we move forward. Robbie, you're
gonna stick with Hardy or are you? You're changing up
your pick?
Speaker 2 (35:43):
I'm gonna go Team Mendez. He's been so impressive this year,
just getting everything done that he wants to get done,
and and just I don't know, he's been really fun
to watch, and I don't I don't see. I mean,
there's certainly some competition there from Bartlett and Hardy that
he's gonna have to get through in the Big ten tournament,
(36:05):
but he just looks so good. That's so I'm going
to go Mendes.
Speaker 1 (36:11):
We do we do have an NCAA rematch that can
potentially happen this week with with the Mendes and Bartlett.
It is Penn State Ohio State. We'll talk about that
later obviously, but could be seen it this week. Austin,
you're sticking with Mendes as we're all switching to Team
Mendes right now.
Speaker 6 (36:28):
I'm staying on the train I've been conducting it since
the beginning. You guys can hop on the bandwagon if
you want.
Speaker 1 (36:34):
Yeah, I mean, we'll we'll get there. We'll get the heavyweight.
But that's not the only train we've been conducting this year.
Speaker 2 (36:41):
We're waiting for a time.
Speaker 3 (36:49):
Kevin, what are you staying with a Lirez or.
Speaker 4 (36:52):
Oh yeah, damn right, I'm staying with Lires. Yeah, you
know what's more dangerous than a normal A Liires like
a chip on my shoulder. People stop believing in me.
Andrew Ulirez like that. Dude's just quietly sitting back there
in Greeley, Colorado, like, all right, let's let's let's stay
on this match track, and let's let's get the good
(37:13):
ones in when we can and uh and let's finish
this out in March.
Speaker 3 (37:18):
Quiet double digit soon, Yeah, very quiet season for him.
Speaker 4 (37:23):
All you need is a couple of matches. He's got
him real This is this is very true.
Speaker 7 (37:30):
Hold on, let me see real quick.
Speaker 4 (37:32):
So yeah, he'll he'll have to Wressell, kil Happle, taking
taking Jamison. It's not like the big twelve socks Jacob
Frost like, he'll go through some good competition Schwartz, Edmund Hayden, Drew, do.
Speaker 3 (37:44):
You eventually have to get there?
Speaker 4 (37:46):
Yeah, so fine. And this is this is not me
taking anything away from from Jesse Mendez, mind you, he
has I agree with everything you guys have said and
shout out by the way to advance bombar have that
was one hell of a match, even in the last
But I'm already punted twice. You think I'm gonna punt
three times in a row. It's fourth down. I'm going
(38:07):
for it. Baby. We're across at fifty.
Speaker 2 (38:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (38:11):
If that's Austin smiling because he watched that turnover on
downs overully weekend, the football puns are gonna keep on
coming with the super Bowl just happened, So we gotta
get him in while we can. Moving on to one
forty nine, and I'm gonna start with Austin on this one. Austin,
(38:33):
you went with Shane van Ness, Kevin, you had Ridge
love it, Robbie you had Henson. I know that's not
gonna change, and I had Ridge love it. So I'm
gonna start with Austin. Are you sticking with Shane van Ness?
Speaker 8 (38:51):
Oh?
Speaker 7 (38:52):
This is tough. I think I do.
Speaker 6 (38:55):
But there's just something inside me that thinks love it
gets the job done. You know, Parko beat him three times.
I don't think that that beating love it a fourth
time is really freaking hard.
Speaker 2 (39:09):
But beat him three times it's hard.
Speaker 7 (39:12):
I mean, obviously, yeah, but four times even harder. From
what I've heard.
Speaker 4 (39:15):
One one time seems really tough. Yeah, I mean maybe
maybe now we give credit to Parco for doing it
at all.
Speaker 1 (39:23):
Yeah, I mean, if you ask van Ness one time,
is hard to beat Ridge love It, because Ridge Love
It got it done in impressive fashion this year.
Speaker 6 (39:29):
So yeah, I'm gonna stick with van Ness just to
think some of that Penn State magic is gonna rub
off on him. And yeah, but there's part of me
that wants to pick love It too, So but I'll
stay with van Ness, all right.
Speaker 1 (39:42):
So sticking with van Ness, Kevin, sticking with love It.
Speaker 4 (39:46):
I feel like I'm gonna punt a lot down the
road here, so I might I know what heavyweight I am.
I'm gonna stick with love It. Yeah, what the hell
I'm gonna do this thing. I've never done this before.
I don't know. Is that what he does?
Speaker 2 (40:00):
That looks more like an eight?
Speaker 4 (40:01):
There's the hard up.
Speaker 1 (40:06):
Yeah, Robbie make the most anti climactic.
Speaker 3 (40:13):
Yeah, there we go.
Speaker 1 (40:15):
I'm sticking with love It as well. I think this
is the first way that we've all stuck with our pick.
I think once we get a little closer there might
be some changes, but it's nope.
Speaker 4 (40:29):
Well, and even Austin wanted to switch.
Speaker 3 (40:31):
He said, he that's That's what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (40:33):
There there's gonna there's gonna be some There could potentially
be some changes. Obviously, you know, Robbie is is the
rocket Gibraltar. He's not moving, but there there could be
some other some other changes that that do happen. I
even though I would love to see love it get
it done, I can be I can be swayed because
(40:55):
the the way that things looked for him against Parko,
and how he looked really good against van Ness.
Speaker 3 (41:06):
I don't know if you can duplicate that.
Speaker 1 (41:08):
That's the that's the hard part for me is is
can can you duplicate that against van Ness, who we
saw beat Parco, who has beaten Love. It so been
a lot of transitive property going on so far this
this year and some of these weight classes.
Speaker 6 (41:27):
It's that two through four ranked are all Big ten,
you know, so it's not gonna fall and you don't
know how the seating is gonna fall at NCAA's. I
think whoever wins Big Ten's will probably get that two seed,
I would imagine, and then you know, whoever, well, whatever
else is left gonna get thrown in the bracket somewhere,
probably like a four seed and a six or something
(41:48):
crazy like that, but I'd love to see those four
make the Centemites and NCAA's yeah, it'd be a good time.
Speaker 2 (41:53):
You didn't see it, go back and watch Henson absolutely
murdered Jade Navis this weekend at Stanford seventeen to one. It's, uh,
he's scary right now now. I would not glad that
he's healthy.
Speaker 1 (42:09):
Glad that he's healthy, because that's I mean, that's ultimately
what you want. Is you want you want every you
want everybody to be healthy at the end of the year,
right Like, this is what you ultimately want. So you know,
if he was going to sustain an injury at any
point during the year, I'm glad it was at the beginning.
Speaker 2 (42:27):
Him and McNeil. The ACCS is going to be fun.
Speaker 3 (42:30):
For sure, Yeah, for sure.
Speaker 1 (42:33):
Uh fifty seven it was Kevin going with Shapiro. Actually
all of you guys went with Shapiro. I went with Teamer.
I'm I'm punting to Kasik because why not, Uh that
he he showed up and he has continued to show
(42:55):
up this year time after time. So I'm gonna to switch,
uh and and take the take the man from Pennsylvania,
Robbie sticking with your Piro sticking.
Speaker 2 (43:09):
He's I mean, he's He's looked damn impressive in every
match he's been in. His only loss is an injury
default and he looks strong. Coming back doesn't count well
according to Britt, it does.
Speaker 3 (43:23):
True to Britt, it does Austin kicking or sticking.
Speaker 7 (43:27):
I'm sticking with Meyer. Looked good this weekend.
Speaker 6 (43:30):
He's gonna keep wrestling more matches, get that confidence back
in them. I just think he's a little unorthodox, really funky,
really good at scrambling.
Speaker 7 (43:39):
And obviously Kesik is two.
Speaker 6 (43:41):
But Kasik has to go through big tens, which is
a little more challenging than Ivy's, you know, so case
it could take a loss there, you know.
Speaker 2 (43:49):
So he does have a loss to Jimmy Herrington, so
injury default doesn't count.
Speaker 7 (43:55):
SAE.
Speaker 2 (43:55):
He's in the IVY too, that was ages ago.
Speaker 3 (43:59):
That will get that. That'll that's going to change.
Speaker 1 (44:04):
The seating though, with him taking that default loss, it's
gonna that's gonna play a role, him and Shapiro both
taking injury default losses because they count.
Speaker 3 (44:14):
So see how that works.
Speaker 7 (44:17):
Kevin conferences will be one and two. Yeah regardless, right, So.
Speaker 4 (44:22):
Yeah, I I am sticking with Shapiro as well. I
did want to make sure to shout out Ethan Miller
though he is the only undefeated wrestler at one hundred
and fifty seven pounds.
Speaker 3 (44:35):
And you could potentially be the one.
Speaker 4 (44:37):
Right, He's wrestled really good competition so far this year.
It looks like he'll have a rematch with Joey Blaze
this Friday. Then they Wrestledrexel the following Friday. So I mean,
if he gets that, if he you know, obviously is
able to get another win over Blaze, that would be
one thing. And then if you can secure it with
(44:57):
Drexel too, then yeah, he'll go in and and should
probably be the number one seed at that point. But yeah,
I'm going to Piro. He's just he's a very dynamic wrestler.
Kasik has looked awesome, but you know he has a
loss now to Ethan Miller.
Speaker 2 (45:13):
So yeah, that concussion is concerning too.
Speaker 4 (45:17):
Yeah that's not like not a good there's no good
time of year to get them, but like particularly now. No.
Speaker 3 (45:24):
Yeah, so everybody's sticking except for me, who's going to
switch the Ksik instead of teamer only because I don't
know how healthy Teamer is.
Speaker 7 (45:36):
You know back this week?
Speaker 1 (45:37):
I heard Yeah, I mean, we'll certainly see it. It's
probably kind of like a Gabe Arnold load management kind
of a thing for him, only it makes sense for
Teamer because he was injured.
Speaker 2 (45:51):
So, yeah, what's the minimum match threshold for RPI.
Speaker 7 (46:01):
Or eight?
Speaker 2 (46:03):
Because he's only got five matches right now, so he's
gonna have to get some matches in.
Speaker 3 (46:07):
I think it's nine. Yeah, it's eight or nine. I
can't remember that my head.
Speaker 1 (46:14):
Yeah, moving on to sixty five, we got three mess
and Brinks and a Ramirez. Yeah, w A Homer and
Austin truly came out interesting. So so what what are
what are we thinking?
Speaker 3 (46:30):
Austin?
Speaker 4 (46:30):
You changed?
Speaker 3 (46:31):
You changed into Ramirez?
Speaker 7 (46:34):
Was I was? I was I on drugs for this one? Now?
Speaker 6 (46:38):
Ramirez obviously solid and I liked him coming in the year,
but Mess and Break is just a whole other animal
and no one's touching Mess and Breaks. So yeah, I
gotta lovely Julie Ramirez, but I gotta go with Mess
and Brink. He's he's looking really good.
Speaker 4 (46:53):
Were we picking guys to All American last time? Because
even that's like tough for Ramirez, Like.
Speaker 3 (46:59):
Austin was open and wishing. Is what happened last night year.
Speaker 6 (47:04):
Round the twelve guy. I wanted to get the job done,
at least get on that podium. Ramirez. I love that guy.
But yeah, I don't know. Yeah, I mean I didn't
realize how good Messing ring was.
Speaker 4 (47:14):
I don't know, but yeah, yeah, I'm sticking as well.
Speaker 3 (47:20):
Yeah, I don't. I don't think there's gonna be any
change here.
Speaker 4 (47:25):
So yeah, wait to make one sixty five suck by
being so awesome.
Speaker 3 (47:31):
Stop tecking.
Speaker 1 (47:32):
Literally everyone wrestle a full match, right, like, what's wrong
with you?
Speaker 4 (47:39):
No stamina?
Speaker 3 (47:40):
Seventy four?
Speaker 1 (47:41):
We we've got me and Austin who took Levi Haynes,
and Robbie and Kevin who took Hegan O'Toole.
Speaker 3 (47:50):
I am sticking with Haynes, and.
Speaker 1 (47:53):
Reason being is because I said it that when we
made our picks before, and I used the same logic
last year when it came to literally this weight uh
or sixcuse me at sixty five where Car ended up
winning the title.
Speaker 3 (48:09):
Whoever loses during the during the duel will.
Speaker 1 (48:13):
Win at NCAA's and I picked Haynes to win NCAA's
which indicated completely that I thought Keegan O'Toole would win
during the duel, which he did. So I'm going to
stick with my pick of Levi Haynes to win at
one hundred and seventy four pounds.
Speaker 3 (48:31):
Robbie, you going to stick with Keegan O'Toole.
Speaker 2 (48:35):
I'm gonna go full wild card here, Oh boy, Lorenzo Norman.
Speaker 7 (48:41):
Boa.
Speaker 2 (48:43):
He's looked fantastic. His only loss is the fourth three
loss at Mittie. He's young, but he's dangerous and I
think he's uh, he's going to surprise some people.
Speaker 4 (48:55):
Think he surprises Keegan o'tool and Levi Handes and dj
uh you think he's surprised as like a Brevan Cassella.
Speaker 2 (49:07):
My concern is Keegan's health and that's who I would
like to see when. I think it would be great
to see him go out on top, but I am
concerned with where he's at ah and if he's going
to be full fully healthy, because he's going to need
to be to make a run. Levi Haynes is fantastic.
I mean, there's a lot of good choices here. I
(49:31):
don't think there's a wrong choice really in the top
probably four or five that they could all have a
real good shot. But if if Austin could pick Julian Ramirez,
then I can pick Lorenza Ormond.
Speaker 7 (49:44):
Yeah, shame logic, wold card. Yeah right, yeah laugh.
Speaker 2 (49:52):
Now wait till it happens.
Speaker 7 (49:54):
No, it's I thought, well.
Speaker 4 (49:55):
I mean the next year. No, I'm sticking with a tool, Like, yeah,
there's obviously injury concerns, but you know, I think the
whole point of him missing as much time as he
has has been too for them to say, Like, look, dude,
especially with Missouri, right, like, our whole team is hurt.
It's not like you need to rush back to like
(50:16):
save some hope, but like resurrecting this record, right, like seriously,
just like, dude, like finish out your career with us
on top, and you know, come back and we'll make
sure that conditioning wise, we've got you where you need
to be. But yeah, that guy's still special.
Speaker 2 (50:35):
So yeah, I think I'll change my pick back when
we do this again in a couple of weeks, but
I want to see him back on the mat.
Speaker 3 (50:41):
Yeah, probably for now. We've got it on record that
you went to a wild card card.
Speaker 4 (50:47):
Made me completely lose. I wanted to shout out Garrett Thompson,
not like as a pick to win it, but like
for not.
Speaker 2 (50:53):
Being eligible in the second semester.
Speaker 4 (50:54):
Dude, he's twenty five and five.
Speaker 7 (50:56):
He's not eligible.
Speaker 2 (50:57):
He's done eligible.
Speaker 9 (50:59):
Garrett Thompson from Ohio. You're thinking of the one, oh
Keller Keller, Yeah, yeah, you're sweet Thompson. Garrett Thompson has
looked phenomenal. He lost a bunch of matches like early
in the year and has just been on a tear
and just beat the snot out of Alex.
Speaker 4 (51:17):
Kramer in their duel meet and that made me sad.
But but yeah, I wanted to shout him out. He
looks good.
Speaker 7 (51:24):
And also Cleveland Street.
Speaker 4 (51:26):
I know it's not the same thing, but Ohio and
Green there.
Speaker 6 (51:29):
We got two Matt guys in the top seven.
Speaker 7 (51:32):
Claunch. Make sure you happy to get over there.
Speaker 4 (51:34):
Damn right it does.
Speaker 3 (51:35):
No uh next week.
Speaker 7 (51:39):
Got sticking with Hayes by the way, too.
Speaker 3 (51:42):
Sticking with Haynes. Yeah, yeah, I figured you would, well,
didn't you say that?
Speaker 1 (51:47):
No? Sorry, that's my bad. Yeah, sticking with Haynes. So
we've got two Haynes, an old Tool and a Norman
okay uh uh Next we've got two three Starachis and
Robbie with Keisen.
Speaker 3 (52:09):
I'm sticking with Starachi, me too, Robbie.
Speaker 2 (52:15):
Bucket Panther, train.
Speaker 4 (52:18):
Man, winning both.
Speaker 2 (52:22):
I like. Nope, Parker's got the hairline team Team receding hairline.
Speaker 1 (52:26):
Here go Parker, go all right, Austin, you're sure you
don't want to switch to Chris PoCA, there's still time.
Speaker 7 (52:37):
Maybe maybe next week or two weeks, we'll see.
Speaker 1 (52:41):
Na Folk, I love, I Love, I Love Folka, just
just trying to poke it. Austin's homer side, even though
Robbie's homer side is probably worse than any ones.
Speaker 2 (52:51):
It's pretty strong.
Speaker 3 (52:53):
It's really strong.
Speaker 4 (52:54):
Uh real, Quendy, I've just h scrolling down at one,
eight four and like, after you get past basically you
know those top four guys. I guess folks only got
the one loss. But it's just wild. Once you get
like top ten and below, there's like five seven, nine,
five four six and lost like categories, Like all these
(53:18):
dudes are just beating each other. It drops off pretty
heavy after that.
Speaker 1 (53:22):
But I will say this, I cannot wait for when
does does Penn State? No Penn State in Minnesota do
not wrestle. I cannot wait to see Max mcinelli wrestle
Carter Serachi, which will most likely happen in the Big
Ten final.
Speaker 3 (53:40):
Because Max has been He's looked very good this year.
Speaker 1 (53:45):
You know, when when Egham said like, this guy can
do some damage this year, and he you know, and
when I asked.
Speaker 3 (53:53):
Him, I was like, who's this year's Tyler Wells?
Speaker 1 (53:55):
Because Wells was, you know, one point away from being
in AA last year. Max mcinally is is lighting it
up seventeen and oh as a freshman. Obviously he's a
red red shirt freshman, but yeah, he goes after it.
Speaker 3 (54:10):
So yeah, I really love that kid.
Speaker 1 (54:13):
I I mean, what's what's gonna suck for him is
that he'll be on the same side of the bracket
his Carter, which will most likely happen.
Speaker 3 (54:22):
You know, Plot is going to be the you're talking to.
Speaker 4 (54:28):
Ye.
Speaker 3 (54:29):
Plot will be the three Big Tens.
Speaker 1 (54:33):
They'll be one and two, yeah, but Plot will be
the three. I think it'll probably go just the way
it is, you know, one through four.
Speaker 7 (54:44):
Loss in the year, and.
Speaker 1 (54:47):
Because both both his losses are the Ketaisen, yeah, I'll
take a third. Yeah, his only losses are the Keen.
He lost in c KLV final and then in the duel.
Speaker 2 (54:57):
Isn't it like his only losses the last two years
at A.
Speaker 1 (55:00):
Yeah, he hasn't lost to anyone else, but ka kais
in for the longest time.
Speaker 3 (55:06):
Yeah, it's been a while.
Speaker 2 (55:07):
That sucks.
Speaker 1 (55:09):
Yeah, yeah, it does. It certainly certainly does so. Yeah,
but I think Plot will still get the three. He'll
his third loss will most likely be the Ka Kaisan
in the Big twelve finals because I don't really see
anybody else beating him.
Speaker 7 (55:23):
But you should split that up. That's stupid.
Speaker 3 (55:27):
It's kind of tough to do it. I mean, what
else are you gonna do?
Speaker 7 (55:32):
I mean I would make if I'm on Minnesota, I'd
make the argument, Hey, my guys has one loss to
the four time national champ, he should be the three.
Speaker 4 (55:41):
Compared to three, assuming that happens.
Speaker 7 (55:44):
Assuming it happens, yes, right, yeah, yeah, and.
Speaker 2 (55:49):
It just takes care of itself.
Speaker 3 (55:50):
Well that is that is a strong argument.
Speaker 7 (55:52):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (55:52):
The other argument you can make then, is it like one, two, three, four, five,
six of the top twelve guys or Big ten guys,
so it's not like he's wrestled nobody.
Speaker 7 (56:03):
Also that too, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (56:05):
Yeah, so he, I mean, does definitely have a chance
to be the three. Yeah, you're right about that. You
were starting to right about that.
Speaker 2 (56:17):
Circling back at eighty four, TJ. Stewart seems to have
found his swagger again.
Speaker 3 (56:22):
So yeah, some I'm throwing dudes. What the hell happened there?
Speaker 2 (56:26):
Dumping people on their heads again. So it sounds like he's, uh,
he's his mind's back in the right spot and he's
he's making a run like you did last year. So
watch out for him.
Speaker 3 (56:37):
Second semester kind of guy. Ninety semesters always suck anyway.
Speaker 1 (56:42):
Yeah, ninety seven, I'm going to be punting, but I'm
gonna I'm gonna start with Kevin. Kevin, you had Cardinas,
Austin had Beard, Robbie had Cardenas, and I had Ferrari. Kevin,
You're sticking with Cardinas.
Speaker 4 (57:10):
I much as I want to like the visuals of that, Like,
he just he couldn't set up his offense at all
against bar. It was just dropping to that knee and
trying to shoot that that double and for being a
smart guy, giving up the reversal at the wrong time. Man,
That's just that was heard optics. It's hard optics on
(57:36):
the flip side. You know you got Stephen Buchanan over there,
just beating up everybody, making his coach go try to
fight people in the stands. I'll be punting twice in
a row again. Yeah, I'm gonna punt. I'll take Stephen Buchanan.
Speaker 3 (57:54):
Cannon or Kevin uh Austin. How are you feeling? Yeah?
W a Homer?
Speaker 6 (58:02):
I mean, Beard wasn't a terrible pick. And then you
wrestled Josh Barr and kind of got his butt whooped.
Speaker 4 (58:09):
Turns out?
Speaker 6 (58:11):
Yeah yeah, turn it out? Oh bar freshman can whooping
up on Beard? What's going on there?
Speaker 4 (58:15):
And then did Beard give up a reversal in the
last ten seconds to lose that one? I don't remember.
Speaker 7 (58:20):
Beard give up a lot of takedowns.
Speaker 3 (58:22):
I'll tell you that it's his only loss of the season,
though it is.
Speaker 6 (58:26):
Yeah, yeah, just something about that bar in Buchanan match.
I think Bar reverses that. So I think I'm gonna
jump on the bar train, and if not, I'll go
to the bar and drink.
Speaker 2 (58:38):
If I get everybody wins everybody.
Speaker 1 (58:45):
Robbie, you you also had Cardinas. What are you thinking
here at ninety seven?
Speaker 8 (58:51):
I don't even know the sweet is weird. God, I mean,
it's it's hard not to like Josh Barr right now,
Like as great as he's looked and as dangerous as
we know that Penn State guys are at the end
of the year, But Buchanan's look great too. I don't
(59:14):
like Ferrari hasn't had any competition all year. His best
best win is against nixt Emmett and that's not, you know,
a great win.
Speaker 3 (59:23):
I mean, Emoji's on the line. You think he was
really gonna give that one up.
Speaker 2 (59:26):
Yeah, he's not gonna give up the smoke.
Speaker 4 (59:28):
Like that.
Speaker 6 (59:30):
Pescar competition video that just came out with those dumbells,
they weren't going down to his chest.
Speaker 2 (59:34):
Yeah, that's hard competition. The pexel unlock enough to get
all the way down.
Speaker 4 (59:38):
That's because they were heavy.
Speaker 2 (59:42):
Theoretically they should move easier.
Speaker 4 (59:45):
Yeah, he helped them up pretty well.
Speaker 2 (59:50):
You know, guys, I think I Josh Barr, I think
that's that's what I'm gonna lean with now. That's that's
I think this is one where where we're gonna be
bouncing back and forth until the end of the year
and nobody really knows how it's gonna shake out.
Speaker 7 (01:00:11):
Big ten should be fun.
Speaker 2 (01:00:13):
Yeah, Max, that's one like seventeenth straight and looks fantastic.
Speaker 7 (01:00:17):
So I don't know.
Speaker 1 (01:00:19):
I'm I'm going to Buchanan, man, I'm getting getting rid
of the fast car and uh.
Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
Don't blame your insurance. Gonna be crazy.
Speaker 1 (01:00:28):
Yeah, I'm a luxury I'm a luxury guy. Anyway, I'm
gonna go with the with the big body Bens. And
that big body Ben's name is Buchanan. So that's that's
what I'm going with. Yeah, I do drive a Bens
and it's not a name. Now I'm gonna now call
(01:00:49):
my car Buchanan is what I'm gonna do because it
just just works.
Speaker 3 (01:00:54):
It just works.
Speaker 4 (01:00:56):
What in the car?
Speaker 1 (01:00:58):
Yes, yep, yep, yeah yeah, getting rid of that fast
car and uh gonna gonna I'm gonna go.
Speaker 7 (01:01:06):
If you cannon your Ben's cost five hundred thousand two
or it did not?
Speaker 3 (01:01:13):
It did not.
Speaker 1 (01:01:16):
No, it does deadlift six hundred it did. It does
deadlift six hundred and seventy five pounds.
Speaker 7 (01:01:23):
Though.
Speaker 3 (01:01:25):
Now on to heavyweight, and I.
Speaker 1 (01:01:28):
Mean another we're gonna we're gonna, we're gonna see, We're
gonna see if Robbie, you know, finally comes comes to
his senses on and and gets on the Trumble train.
Because we've been we've been trying to get you here
for the longest time. Every week we're talking about how
(01:01:51):
good Trouble is and and how you're.
Speaker 3 (01:01:55):
Late to the party.
Speaker 1 (01:01:57):
But no, these picks were made before Gable came back.
So we've got two kirk fleets between myself and Austin.
Robbie is rolling with Trumble and Kevin with Feldman. So
I'll go I'll go to Kevin first because I know
he said he wanted to punt, And are you getting
(01:02:21):
on the Trumbell train?
Speaker 3 (01:02:22):
Is that? What's what's gonna happen?
Speaker 4 (01:02:24):
You know what, I just realized everyone's punting. This is
not like my fault. We're all I am. I am
punting once again because at this point I have a
strong lead. I don't need to go for it anymore.
We're just gonna kick it whatever. Yeah, that's fine. I'm
(01:02:45):
gonna take Gable Steveson. You might know him from the
Olympics or putting his shoes on the mat the last
time he won an NC double A title.
Speaker 2 (01:02:53):
We're having four senior nights, Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:02:55):
He also played for the Buffalo Bills and made an
appearance in the w W A Yeah yeah, and was
fighting John Jones. So and then since since doing all that,
he's decided to just come back and beat everybody at
this really really really hard thing to do again.
Speaker 1 (01:03:12):
And his brother Bobby was just in a Super Bowl commercial,
which one the Circles bottle. His his brother Bobby was
in the Circle commercial like the Circle water bottles.
Speaker 4 (01:03:28):
Oh my god, I'll have to rewatch that one.
Speaker 1 (01:03:30):
He posted it is on his social media so you
can go watch it. But yeah, he is in that.
He's in the super Bowl commercial.
Speaker 4 (01:03:36):
I liked the seal one where seal was a seal.
Speaker 1 (01:03:39):
Yeah, that was pretty funny. That was pretty good. That
was pretty good. But yeah, the Stevesons are continuing to
do big things. They played for the Bills, they win
Olympic titles, They're in super Bowl commercials.
Speaker 3 (01:03:52):
Yeah, I'm gonna go.
Speaker 1 (01:03:53):
I'm gonna go with the with the Olympic champion as well.
Speaker 8 (01:03:59):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (01:04:00):
Even though I will say that I think I think
the and and this is probably gonna his old Robbie.
I do think that it is a match that comes
down between him and and Hendrickson. Honestly, I think Hendrickson
has looked really, really good, and I think he beats
Kirkley to make the finals against Gable. Maybe that is
(01:04:20):
some wishful thinking, but maybe not wishful thinking, but maybe
I just want to see that match.
Speaker 3 (01:04:27):
So yeah, I'm gonna.
Speaker 1 (01:04:28):
I'm gonna go with the Olympic champion. Surprise, surprise, Austin
you uh hunting as well?
Speaker 6 (01:04:36):
Yes, I will go with Gable, who was named after
a pretty good wrestler himself.
Speaker 7 (01:04:42):
So I'll go with Clark. Clark, go ahead, Rob, you're up, go.
Speaker 3 (01:04:52):
Ahead, make your case the Trumble Rumble.
Speaker 2 (01:04:58):
You know, he's looked better in his second match, he
aginst everybody.
Speaker 4 (01:05:00):
So far, how'd the first one go?
Speaker 2 (01:05:05):
Not well?
Speaker 7 (01:05:06):
Not well?
Speaker 2 (01:05:07):
Ah, I feel like I have to stick with the brand.
Like I feel like, I mean.
Speaker 3 (01:05:14):
You're really late to the party on this, but I
mean it's about damn time.
Speaker 2 (01:05:19):
Look so next week when I go down to Raleigh,
taking him some some raw milk from our our cow,
so I think that's going to power him through sticking
with it, Trumble.
Speaker 1 (01:05:32):
Trumble train rolls on. So, gentlemen, these are these are
our picks. We also made a team pick. I think
we obviously all went Penn State, but I too, you
did that? Is that is correct? Two three and four.
Things look a little bit different now than what they
(01:05:53):
did at.
Speaker 3 (01:05:53):
The beginning of the season.
Speaker 1 (01:05:54):
We will get the match between Iowa and Oklahoma State,
so we'll see how they that way. Obviously, tournaments are
very much so different. Oklahoma State had a really good
showing at CKLV, which is essentially the only true like
big tournament measuring stick that we get during the year
comes in the first basically in the first month of
(01:06:15):
the season.
Speaker 3 (01:06:18):
Who are we.
Speaker 1 (01:06:19):
Thinking fills out the two three and four spots after
Penn State? After Penn State breaks their record, by the way,
is what I think is going to happen. I think
it's yeah, yeah, they break their record. Everybody everybody on
the podium this year.
Speaker 3 (01:06:38):
Literally.
Speaker 2 (01:06:39):
I think that hinges on the health of Ksek That
would be my only argument there. I am a little
leery with a concussion this late in the year.
Speaker 4 (01:06:47):
And Brandon Davis too for that matter. I mean, they
do have the eyes who are out right now, and
you know, yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:06:55):
Yeah, but they can they can be. They're probably downtrained
in the room right now. If we stick with it
the theme of you know, broken ankles, you know, nah,
he's in the room trainer right now.
Speaker 7 (01:07:06):
Do we.
Speaker 1 (01:07:08):
Yeah, do we think that Oklahoma State takes over? I
mean the top five or Penn State, Iowa, Penn State, Iowa,
Oklahoma State, Nebraska, and Minnesota.
Speaker 3 (01:07:23):
Those are our top five in tournament rankings.
Speaker 1 (01:07:26):
By the way, UH doal meet rankings look a little
bit different where it's Penn State, Oklahoma State, Iowa, Northern Iowa, Nebraska,
Minnesota is sixth when when in dual meat rankings, so
tournament rankings, I think the way that it looks right now,
I feel like Minnesota jumps Nebraska and places fourth. I
(01:07:54):
think they battle Oklahoma State for third. I think that
one is going to be very close. I think Towe
and four will be very close. It's it's going to
be within a couple of points two through four. That
order I'm still figuring out in my head. I think,
obviously the duels will give us a pretty good indication
(01:08:15):
of what that looks like. The Oklahoma State, Iowa do
will give us a pretty good indication what that looks like.
But and you know, we just had Iowa Nebraska. What
was that last week. So that tells you just how
close those teams are. Obviously, you know, like I said,
Penn State winning it, but man, Iowa, Oklahoma State and
Minnesota is who I think place the top four, and
(01:08:38):
Nebraska not far behind, but I feel like they come
in fifth. What are your guys thoughts on who rounds
out that that top four.
Speaker 4 (01:08:49):
I've got pretty much the exact same thing. I think.
If Ayala makes the finals, if you get if Buchanan
in the finals, if you get maybe a Parco in
the finals, or at least the semis, like that's a
lot of team points and none of what I just
said seems completely insane. Minnesota, I think it's in there
just by having you know, at least the champ with
with Gable, you get a mc and elli in the semis,
(01:09:11):
or you get you know, a nice run like Bombbauer
had last year. Maybe he gets higher on the podium.
They've got the horses, you know, at all ten weights,
where some of the you know, I think Oklahoma States
had some ups and downs with some of their guys.
I think it would be a stretch to say, oh
that you know, they're going to have eight guys all
(01:09:32):
American this year. I don't know that that's going to
be the case. I don't know that Nebraska is going
to have seven, right, So that's that's I think where
the consistency, you just have more you know, bites at
the apple some of those other teams.
Speaker 7 (01:09:47):
Yeah, I completely agree. I think Iowa has.
Speaker 6 (01:09:51):
Yeah, assuming things go how we think, they'll have higher seeds,
which means, you know, have better pass the finals, you know,
third fourth place matches. I think Oklahoma State kind of
has to go above and beyond just a little bit
of what they're projected right now to get second place.
On the flip side, Iowa, you know, one of those
(01:10:12):
guys goes down early and you know, has a bad tournament,
that it could be over for them too. But yeah,
I do like Iowa to Oklahoma State three, and I
do like Nebraska and four. So I think I view
with both of you guys there.
Speaker 2 (01:10:27):
I think my only wild card is health for some
Iowa guys, because we don't know what's going on with
teamer We don't really know what the situation is at
eighty four, what that's going to look like. You know,
what kind of run that Gabe is going to be
able to make.
Speaker 8 (01:10:45):
There.
Speaker 2 (01:10:46):
I think Iowa's probably firmly in the top four. Oklahoma
states firmly in the top four, Nebraska, Minnesota. Northern Iowa
is another one to look out for. They have a
really deep, really deep lineup that can make a lot
of runs. I mean, I like, I like the idea.
I said, if I have I have guys and winning
that bumps them up. So I mean I could see
(01:11:08):
them sticking in the top four. But I think Iowa
Welcome State, Well, let's throw it over in Iowa top four.
I think they can. They have they have some wild
cards in there that can that can make some make
some things happen.
Speaker 1 (01:11:22):
Yeah, I like, I really like Northern Iowa, not just
because I'm a Doug Swap fan, right, Like, I think
their lineup, they they gave they are They gave Oklahoma
State a battle during that DUELMA and it was tough, right.
So you know, we've seen them do well in tournaments.
We've seen them do well and duels, and they they
(01:11:43):
are a team of consistency where year after year they
consistently just get tougher and tougher and tougher and tougher.
Not the other teams don't. But it's just it's it's
just such a brand for them. It is it is
such a brand for Schwab to have that team. Just
looking at him and Ropers, it just looks so different
(01:12:05):
and I don't know, like it's just man, I tell you,
like and that's the thing, is like, and those guys
are quiet about it, right like. They they're very under
the radar, probably because they're in the conference that they
are that they're in and they aren't one of the
you know, they're not in Oklahoma State. But just the
things that Schwab has his team doing later in this
(01:12:26):
season is always impressive. So I can I can see them,
you know, being in that mix too and battling with
UH with Nebraska or Ohio State or in Minnesota for
you know that for that number four spot, right like
those are you know, I think if anyone, you know,
I feel like Minnesota can can certainly do what they
(01:12:48):
do and what they've been doing all year because they
do have every single guy in their lineup ranked and
guys that are really shining outside of you know, what
Gable has done or you know what we think Gable
going to do, I guess, but the that will be
a very interesting battle too, Like as the parody from
(01:13:10):
the teams that are ranked to through seven is going
to be really really fun to watch.
Speaker 3 (01:13:16):
You know, Penn State.
Speaker 1 (01:13:17):
They're in their own stratus sphere and it's going to
be fun to watch their score and how things go
for them, of if they can top what they did
last year. But that that to through, you know, like
I said, these teams ranked two through seven, it's gonna
get very interesting, very very quickly to see what they
can do when you know, whenever we get to Philly.
(01:13:39):
So that's gonna be really interesting for me. Well, what
are you ahead real quick?
Speaker 4 (01:13:43):
Got in Northern Iowa? If you're gonna make the same
argument about getting national champs, there's nothing that says that
guys and can't go out there and get it done
and bone directly to the tournament, just like he's done
it once. Right, Maybe not through the tournament. Maybe it's
a regular decision in the finals, you know, God forbid, right,
but you know, like he could very well do that.
And then you've got Ryder Downey, You've got you know,
(01:14:04):
other guys in that lineup that are kind of in
there at some of those those weights.
Speaker 2 (01:14:10):
So I think I think The thing I like about
them is that in a tournament setting, you know you're
not gonna have any quit from them, and they're gonna
scrap every second on those backside matches, and there's you
know some teams you don't necessarily feel like that's gonna
be the case. So I think that gives them, with
their depth and with their top end talent, that gives
(01:14:32):
them a really good chance at breaking into the top four.
Speaker 4 (01:14:35):
Didn't don't Schwab get in trouble for like wearing a
hat in the corner once? What if he ran into
the stands.
Speaker 1 (01:14:42):
I don't know if it was like a I think
it was like a it was like team attire, Like
it was like like a like maybe like a quarter
zip or something. It was like a, yeah, like a
sweatshirt or it was team attire, And yeah, he got
he got in trouble for it, and I think they
lost a team point something like that.
Speaker 4 (01:14:59):
I feel like that, Yeah, that makes sense.
Speaker 3 (01:15:01):
Something something really stupid.
Speaker 4 (01:15:03):
It makes sense. It makes sense because it's dumb. Yeah,
when to the stands that got yeah from not an opposing.
Speaker 1 (01:15:13):
Person, Yeah, really really dumb. To wrap up, let's let's
kind of go around the Horn. What what are some
of the things that we're looking forward to this weekend?
Uh coming up in our conferences, Robbie, what's happened in
the ACC?
Speaker 2 (01:15:28):
Stanford making a big East Coast swing? They hit three
duels this weekend. Airs returning to Pitt to Princeton on
Thursday night at NC State which is going to be
a fantastic duel. Friday night, and then Duke on Sunday.
Virginia is at u n C and Pitt is at
Virginia Tech. I think I think that's I think it's
(01:15:51):
at Blacksburg some good ones. I think the Pitt Pitt,
you and Pitt Virginia Tech is gonna be really good.
At the upperweights. Stanford, n C State actually match up
really really well, and I think it's it has the
potential to be a really close tool.
Speaker 3 (01:16:06):
Austin was happening with the smart guys.
Speaker 6 (01:16:10):
Thursday, we got a little Ivy League versus the WA
action Lehigh at Penn. I'll be on the call for
that Thursday night, seven pm. Friday, I will be at
the Eagles parade. Congrats to the Eagles. Saturday, we have
Cornell at Arizona State. Before Arizona State had a bunch
of transfers that looked like a good match. With this offseason,
(01:16:31):
will probably still see some good matches there. And then
Sunday is the match of America's teams. Army hosts Navy
up there at West Point. Should be a really good bout.
Navy so far undefeated in the IWA, Army has one loss,
but should be a good match. Like always think last
year it came down to one point difference and a
(01:16:54):
Navy won it last year, so they're looking to.
Speaker 7 (01:16:56):
Repeat that away on the road at Harmy West Point.
Should be a good one.
Speaker 3 (01:17:02):
Yeah, nice, Kevin big Ten.
Speaker 4 (01:17:06):
Yeah, Well, I'm sure what most people are excited to
hear about is Michigan State is going to be taking
on Rutgers on Friday, followed by Michigan on Sunday.
Speaker 2 (01:17:17):
They are battle for them.
Speaker 4 (01:17:19):
They currently have a perfect record in the Big Ten
and the Bad Way. But no, I'm excited for Michigan
Michigan State. That's always a good one. Probably more, you know,
generically acceptable as an exciting duel would be something like
an Iowa Minnesota this Friday. That'll be nine pm on
Big Ten network. Earlier than that, you're gonna get Penn
(01:17:41):
State and Ohio State on Friday seven pm, So I
mean those are those are the two big ones to
kick the weekend off. That'll be pretty cool. And then
as soon as I scroll down, Yeah, that's Penn State,
Ohio State. Oh and then Sunday that's what it was,
Penn State, Illinois. That should also be a good one
(01:18:03):
with some decent matches at some of those weights. So
it should be fun. Yeah, Friday Nights is gonna be badass.
Speaker 3 (01:18:11):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (01:18:12):
In the Big twelve, Oklahoma State actually has the week off.
They don't wrestle again until the twenty third when they
wrestle Iowa, so they have the week off.
Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
But then we've.
Speaker 1 (01:18:21):
Got Iowa State versus You and I, and that one
should be pretty good, some pretty good matches in that one.
Speaker 3 (01:18:30):
It's it's at You and I. It's their senior.
Speaker 1 (01:18:32):
Day, so yeah, yeah, it's a looks like on their
schedule it's going to be a Purple out is what
we're getting. So some good wrestling going to be happening.
I think what else do we have in the Big twelve?
Speaker 2 (01:18:48):
Purple Alcoly doesn't roll off the town.
Speaker 1 (01:18:50):
It doesn't. It doesn't, but it looks probably looks pretty cool.
Uh so, yeah, you and I and I was state.
I'm trying to get to the other duels. See what
else is happening in the Big twelve. I'm not seeing
(01:19:11):
it right now, but I'm looking forward to that Penn
State and Ohio State match. I think it'll be a
lot of fun. The heavyweight match will obviously be one
that people are looking forward to, and then obviously the
one at one forty one is well will be a
lot of fun.
Speaker 2 (01:19:34):
I mean, is.
Speaker 1 (01:19:37):
What's his name at Ben Divinos? He done at thirty three?
Does he have any other days left?
Speaker 4 (01:19:46):
I feel like I've seen him a lot. I don't
think he can't possibly have any more days left.
Speaker 1 (01:19:51):
Yeah, I think he's probably done. No, I mean it
would be if Davis was back, it'd be cool to
see how he matched up against Branden this if you
know Davis was back in the lineup.
Speaker 7 (01:20:05):
It's like he has four days, four dates used, so
he has one more. Look at wrestle stat Yeah he is.
Speaker 6 (01:20:12):
He did three opens, which I and well, two opens
and Midlands, which I assume he was unattached, and then
four doors he's hit so far.
Speaker 3 (01:20:20):
Well he was.
Speaker 1 (01:20:23):
I think he in the first semester, you have to
be attached. The second semester you you can be unattached.
Is how I understand the rule is you have to
be you have to wrestle attached in the first in
the first semester, and then the second half you can be.
You can wrestle on is like as many things as
you want, like unattached, whatever else. Okay, that's that's I
(01:20:49):
could be wrong.
Speaker 3 (01:20:49):
I'm not sure.
Speaker 1 (01:20:51):
I think I think I saw somebody say that somewhere,
but I could honestly be wrong. It could be whatever
it is. You just get five dates and it's just
five dates. That's how I thought it was, and then
I had seen somebody say it somewhere. Otherwise, other things
happened in the Big twelve alsome. You mentioned that Cornell
wrestling Arizona State, but then there's Northern Colorado and Utah
(01:21:14):
Valley and then Wyoming wrestling Air Force as well, and
an NDSU wrestling cal Baptist. I'm trying to see what
other stuff is happening. NDSU has.
Speaker 3 (01:21:29):
A couple of duels.
Speaker 1 (01:21:30):
Yeah, so NDSU is doing a little California tour. It
looks like Little Rock is also headed out to Bakersfield,
so they'll wrestle them there. Yeah, good amount of good
amount of wrestling going on this weekend in the Big twelve.
But the big one that I think everybody will be
paying attention to is the Iowa State Northern Iowa in
(01:21:53):
the Big twelve. So should be a lot of fun,
a lot of really good wrestling. Obviously, a lot of
a lot of Big ten eyes will be on a
Big ten network this weekend, so we.
Speaker 2 (01:22:06):
Should have Steven Little Ferrari then right in.
Speaker 3 (01:22:12):
I don't know, it doesn't it's it's not. That's the
thing is.
Speaker 1 (01:22:15):
It's not here like very like awkwardly like it's happening.
It says that it's happening at.
Speaker 2 (01:22:22):
Bakersfield, doesn't on their upcoming matches, but.
Speaker 1 (01:22:28):
It doesn't say it doesn't say that Little Rock is
wrestling Bakersfield, at least on this schedule that I'm looking
on on the Big twelve website.
Speaker 2 (01:22:39):
And wrestles status showing it.
Speaker 1 (01:22:41):
Yeah, yeah, so hey, if it happens in great I mean,
Ferrari can probably use the competition because he's had thirteen
matches or fifteen matches against guys that are nowhere close
to the top five, So hopefully we see it. Gentlemen,
any other things do you want to put in here
before we wrap it up?
Speaker 2 (01:23:03):
One fifty seven at NC State Stanford could be the
wildest match of the year. Berger Show, Locke on Ed Scott.
Just headlocks everywhere, so that one should be pretty fun.
Speaker 3 (01:23:13):
What's the over under on headlocks? What do you think?
Speaker 2 (01:23:16):
Seventeen?
Speaker 1 (01:23:18):
I was gonna say at least three attempts, at least
three and a half attempts. I'll get at least three
and a half attempts. That way, each guy can kind
of go back and forth and yeah, we'll see. But gentlemen,
it's everything that I got. Hopefully we have another really
good weekend of wrestling, which we normally do. Hopefully it
always lacks controversy. But let's face it, we're not robots, so.
Speaker 3 (01:23:40):
It's probably gonna happen anyway.
Speaker 1 (01:23:42):
Stand a bench, but yeah, have some fun. It's watch
them wrestling and uh, Robbie, stay warm. You guys got
what like thirteen twelve inches of snow.
Speaker 2 (01:23:53):
That the state of Virginia is going to be shut
down for a month, So yeah, nine inches right now,
so be chilling.
Speaker 3 (01:24:03):
Sounds like a good night for her. Anyway, good Night Fellas.
