Speaker 1 (00:00):
Here we are back again, myself, Robbie, Kevin and Austin

(00:03):
and this week we are going to dig into non
Olympic weight World team trials that are coming up this
weekend in Omaha, Nebraska. Should be a good time. There's
a really good field of freestyle wrestlers that we're going
to cover.

Speaker 2 (00:19):
The women have a ton.

Speaker 1 (00:20):
I think there's one woman sitting out in each one
of the weight classes, so that that one should be good.
Once we get to the finals, I think the competition
probably won't really really measure up in the in the
first couple of rounds, and in those finals are probably
going to be absolute fire Greco.

Speaker 2 (00:38):
We don't really know what we're going to get.

Speaker 1 (00:42):
Could be anybody's game there, obviously, but freestyle is going
to be fireworks and most likely the last hurrah for
a number of guys that are in the bracket. But
before we even get to talking about who's going to
be a good matchup, I want to start with a
little football at his football season. It's opening weekend of

(01:04):
the NFL and I believe it was last week, and
something we didn't get to and we talked last week
was Mason Paris having a little workout with the Bengals,
and upon seeing that.

Speaker 2 (01:17):
It forced me to go back and look at his
huddle profile.

Speaker 1 (01:20):
If you have never seen Mason Paris's huddle profile and
the highlight clips that are on there, I highly suggest
you go back and watch those. He's kind of like
if you put a JJ Watt at linebacker in high
school and just let him roam the field and do
what he wanted and occasionally covered some some you know,

(01:42):
slow tight end and picking a guy off for seventy
yards and running it back for pick six and chasing
down quarterbacks.

Speaker 2 (01:50):
It's very water boy.

Speaker 1 (01:52):
Esque, honestly, But I want to kind of get your
guys take what do you think on this? And I
don't think it's like a huge pipeline. Obviously, there's a
number of wrestlers that are in the NFL, former wrestlers
that are in the NFL, and you know, Steven Neil
is probably the king of that castle when it comes
to former wrestlers being in the NFL winning multiple Super Bowls.

(02:15):
But as of you know, recently we've seen Gable season
have his shot at the NFL, going through the preseason
and training camp with the Bills, inevitably not signing with
the Bills practice squad.

Speaker 2 (02:28):
And then you've got.

Speaker 1 (02:30):
Mason Paris now having a workout I shouldn't even say tryout,
but a workout with the Cincinnati Bengals, being that he
is a Michigan man.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
I'm gonna go to our Michigan man.

Speaker 1 (02:42):
What do you think about Mason Paris having a little
tryout with the team with the with the state right
next to good old Michigan that that shall not be named.

Speaker 3 (02:54):
Yeah, well, I mean if Sunday was any indication the
Bengals could use some help, you know, but uh no,
I mean and getting gett into Mason, like, yeah, the
guy was awesome at football. I mean it was No,
it's no, it's not news to anybody who is aware of,
you know, his time at Michigan, Like Harball was trying

(03:16):
to get him to come play, you know, for a
while too. So, I mean, the guy's the guy's a
superior athlete. He's a super freak. He's got everything I
think you would need physically to get it done and tangibly,
he's you know, proven year after year he can get
better at wrestling. You know, if he wants to make

(03:37):
a legitimate you know, go with this and and is
able to be one of the rarities that is able
to stick around on a practice squad or make an
actual you know team. At some point, I think he'd
progress into something pretty dangerous. But uh, you know that
that remains to be seen. I want to Mason to
do what Mason wants to do. Good luck to be stopping.

Speaker 4 (03:59):
Him, you know. So I'm excited to see him get
after it.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
You know it'll be fun selfishly.

Speaker 1 (04:06):
Obviously, we want him to stay in wrestling, but if
he has the opportunity, then why not go right? Like
we saw how many people were I guess I don't
know a little pissed off about Gable Steveson heading off
to the Bills. But man, I tell you what, Like,
that's a that's a hell of a career. When you
can say I've never played football before in my entire life.

(04:29):
My first game ever, I was suiting up for a
Super Bowl contender, Like, that's a hell, that's a hell
of a career.

Speaker 3 (04:37):
Let people have experiences, you know, like who who's getting mad?

Speaker 4 (04:41):
Who actually had a chance to do that too?

Speaker 5 (04:43):
You know what I mean?

Speaker 3 (04:44):
Like nobody unless you also had a chance to play
in a preseason game for an NFL franchise, Like you
don't get to then crap all over Gable Stevenson doing
it like that seems like a pretty cool experience.

Speaker 4 (04:58):
I would like to do that too, that's like, but for.

Speaker 3 (05:01):
Me, that would be like the old man like fantasy
camps that like baseball players, did you know where they're
just on a bus with like sixty year olds telling
them how they used to go to this ballpark when
they were kids, you know, and they're like, okay, but
that's not what this is. These are actual superior athletes
getting a chance to do something really cool.

Speaker 2 (05:22):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (05:23):
Yeah, And I mean hardball was after him too, like
and you know, obviously Adam Coon had his day with
the Tennessee Titans, ultimately getting hurt and leaving. But I mean,
I'm not surprised that our biggest and baddest guys are
getting looks to throw on the cleats in the helmet,

(05:44):
especially Mason Parris, who was probably recruited just as hard
for football that he was for wrestling.

Speaker 2 (05:50):
I just think he was a little lot of for
football back then.

Speaker 6 (05:53):
It was a toss up kind of coming out of
high school whether he was going to wrestle or play football.
And I mean, he could have been very successful even
at Michigan playing football. So it's nice to see him
get a shot. I like, to me, it has a
different feel than than Gable getting a shot, and it's

(06:13):
just because of the background that he's had, and you know,
it's he was at a different place coming out than
than Gable was. And Gable, you know, got a shot
based shrip, you know, purely off his athleticism and athletic ability.
Mason's at least got the background knowledge of the position
and you know everything that goes with that, so that

(06:33):
that's got to be helpful for him.

Speaker 2 (06:35):
Yeah, for sure.

Speaker 1 (06:40):
Anyway, let's get to topic number two before we head
into the Olympic trials, and that's the epic post on
Instagram that that kind of just happened, what not less than.

Speaker 4 (06:56):
An hour ago, I thought, right before we got on.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
Yeah, and it's man. I'll tell you what. I'll preface
by saying this, I love trash talk. I love it,
and as a fan, I don't do it. Over the weekend.
You know, my Atlanta Falcons lost to the Steelers, and
Fretwell and I are obviously very close friends he's like

(07:19):
my brother, and he was trying to just like talk
trash and I'm like in a game, I don't control.
You're not getting me to talk trash. I'm a fan,
this is it right, However, when I'm competing, it's really
hard to shut me up. And so I love I
love trash talk. I'm a big fan of it. And

(07:41):
when you think of the Penn State guys, they are
not ones for trash talk.

Speaker 5 (07:46):
Right.

Speaker 1 (07:46):
Aaron Brooks is going to let you know how much
he loves God and how he doesn't even give himself
credit for things, and you know, obviously admirable. And they
all speak about their faith, all very faithful. Team having
Bible study before NCAA's last year was something that I
think Aaron Brooks.

Speaker 2 (08:07):
Said in his in his pressor. But cartis ROGI is.

Speaker 1 (08:11):
A different being and he has given us some sound
bites and some quotables. But this one might be at
the top of the list. And I'm not even gonna
read everything. I'll throw it up on the on the
screen so people can see it and read it just
in case it does get taken down. Thank god, we've
got screenshots of this. But this was amazing.

Speaker 2 (08:34):
And in the sense.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
Of it was thought out, he took his time doing it, Yeah,
and he posted it and he went for it, and
he's never been one to shy away from anything. Firstly,
what do you guys think about trash talk in wrestling?
Have you been one of those guys again? You know

(08:57):
we talked about Bo Bassett doing what he's doing. Trash
talk is I think in that same realm of things
that people want to keep traditional in wrestling and not
having it or whatever else. But like, how do you
guys feel about the fanfare and hyping it up? This
is honestly for what he put in there, This is
perfect for the All Star Classic, And if we can't

(09:18):
build off of this, there's a problem. Right He is
the probably the most marketable guy that we have in
wrestling right now, and I'm talking about Carter Saraci and
he is just laying it out there, money on the line,
a vulgar picture on the line, like a tattoo.

Speaker 2 (09:36):
On the line, or maybe even just a.

Speaker 1 (09:40):
New bio like this is this There was a lot,
This was multi layered. What were your thoughts on the
post and what do you guys think about trash talk
and wrestling?

Speaker 6 (09:50):
In general, I think it was out of left field.
Certainly wasn't ex affecting that because AJ's you know, for
the most part, been pretty silent.

Speaker 1 (10:04):
But he did say something about Carter about a week
or so ago, telling him to stay at seventy four
or eighty four, So that's where it came from. That's
where it came from for sure. But yes, it's been
it's been crickets and then it was just like, nah,
Monday night football, we're going We're making the lights hot tonight.

Speaker 6 (10:24):
I guess he's not a Jets fan. I'm just surprised
that Cale has not addressed it with him because that
feels that's that's the thing that stands out to me,
is it feels like it's not a Penn State thing,
like you would not get this from them, you would

(10:45):
not hear this from them, and it feels like it's
something that wouldn't be you know, accepted from Kale. So
I'm interested to see if it does stay up and
if there's any any backlash to it from his team.

Speaker 4 (11:02):
Carter doesn't seem to play by the same rules though. Yeah,
that's fair, like that's been one.

Speaker 3 (11:07):
Thing that's been pretty consistent over the last several years.
He has a different sort of set of expectations. And
if you keep winning national championships, I guess you just
keep get to keep like ramping it up.

Speaker 5 (11:19):
You know.

Speaker 4 (11:21):
I need to get better at photoshop.

Speaker 3 (11:23):
I know that that's That's something that I've got a
friend I go to whenever I need some photoshop stuff
and he usually hooks it up and shout out, Joey.

Speaker 4 (11:32):
Hamoud what up?

Speaker 3 (11:35):
But yeah, he puts some work in on that. Man,
he got it together. It was pretty funny. And uh,
you know, I'm all about trash talk, and anybody who's like, oh,
it's no trash talk like this back in the day,
it's like, well there wasn't social media, and shut up,
so like maybe.

Speaker 5 (11:51):
This you didn't.

Speaker 3 (11:53):
Yeah, let's have some fun, all right. It's not like
he went out there and said like some really nasty
stuff about him.

Speaker 2 (12:00):
Well he kind of did.

Speaker 3 (12:02):
We have the pictures up there and he talks in trash.
I think I think there's a fine line. I don't
think he crossed it yet, you know, I think he's
dancing on it.

Speaker 1 (12:11):
Yeah, And for for what it's worth, I love the
trash talk that came from from Ferrari to to kind
of start it off right, like stay stay in your lane,
like one of those things like I'm all for it,
like give me the trash talk from both sides.

Speaker 2 (12:25):
I'm not.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
It's not because it's Carter that I'm like, Oh, I
love it and I'm a fan of Car like, no,
like both sides, but keep.

Speaker 7 (12:34):
It in a lane here, Like I think, as you said,
Carter is dancing on a line with with where he
went with this, but keep it like go out there,
have the match, do what you gotta do.

Speaker 2 (12:47):
But like let's let's, you know, keep it in the stadium.

Speaker 6 (12:51):
I guess, same same time though, Like he didn't say
anything that we didn't say last week, So you know,
who are we just in here and say that the
exact same things. I mean, yeah, that's what happens when
you make fun of best damn it.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (13:05):
But the thing is is, yeah, but like we're adults, right,
like and and Carter and and they're adults. They're grown
ass men, and us cursing on the show, we're talking
like grown ass men. Like, yes, I understand if we
had to abide by certain rules, we wouldn't be cursing
the way we were, but or the way that we

(13:26):
do on the show, We're grown. This is how this
is how people talk, right, like, this is.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
Just what it is.

Speaker 1 (13:33):
And you know, it's kind of I kind of feel
like I'm stealing from the Pat McAfee show right now,
because that was one of like the big things for
him of going over to ESPN, where they were like, well,
you're kind of taking the essence of our show because
we talk how grown people talk. And now when you
ever watch the Pat McAfee show, they just go completely

(13:53):
dead silent on things. When they're cursing. You don't even
hear a sentence, they're not bleeping anything. They just take
the whole thing and drop the audio and they come
back in when they're not so like But like, like
I said, trash talk.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
I'm all for it.

Speaker 1 (14:08):
I think it's great that we have guys that want
to be marketable, both Bo Bassett style and Carter Seraci
style and as well as Ferrari style. Some things might
be cringed, but like come on, like go full force
at it and do it, but don't cross a line

(14:29):
to the point where you know, you start threatening and
things go create. But like have some fun in sports
it's okay to talk some trash, it's okay to celebrate
as well. Like I know, there's these unwritten rules of
wrestling where people are like, no, you get your hand raise,
you walk off the mat, you're a robot, you're a
good gentleman. You open doors, you pull out chairs, you
kiss babies, you shake hands.

Speaker 2 (14:50):
Like I get it. But like sometimes let's let's crank
the dial up a little bit and let's have some fun.
So that's what I think this is.

Speaker 1 (14:59):
But I'm telling you right now, if this match does
not happen after this sort of promo, like early promo,
we're missing out big time because we're not going to
see it during the season. It's not going to happen.
This is the one time only that we are going
to see this matches. I even doubt that we would
see it in freestyle as well. So let's so it.

Speaker 6 (15:22):
Gives us, It gives us a two month window to
build it too, exactly good. So I mean that gives us,
you know, it gives us amo to start building other
storylines as well too, And that's we talk about it
a lot. But that's what we need to do as
a sport, is we need to move towards that. If
we want to be more marketable, we need to have

(15:43):
the storylines, we need to build things out, and you know,
it can be difficult with the way, you know the
nature of our sport, but in a situation like this,
it's kind of handed to us on a plate. Let's
do it. Let's let's make it, you know, make that
the the main event and build around it.

Speaker 1 (16:00):
Yeah, I feel like and we talk about how Penn
State isn't isn't like this or at least like the
you know, they're very subdued, right, it's all about having fun.
It's it's it's the chop wood carry water type of
thing that we've heard them say for years and years
and years. But for me, I think that if there's
one guy that this truly comes from, it's it's Bo.

(16:24):
And it's the fact that Bo is now in the UFC.
He's becoming more marketable. And we've even heard Carter talk
about Bo Nickel and saying Bo's spashion people and having fun.
It looks like a good time. I'll probably go over
and do stuff like that. So there's an influence there,
and I feel like Carter's like it's working over there.
I probably need to start now because I mean he

(16:47):
started obviously years ago, winning titles and being who he is.

Speaker 2 (16:51):
But he's really cranked up.

Speaker 1 (16:53):
The dial over the last you know a little bit
where he's you know, said some stuff back at Burrows.
He's now saying stuff at Ferrari. It's pretty it's pretty awesome.

Speaker 5 (17:05):
You know.

Speaker 2 (17:06):
I want us to have some personalities in our sport.

Speaker 4 (17:08):
Well, and that's one thing too.

Speaker 3 (17:10):
Just to quick jump out, is I remember Dake and Tomiso.
I think it was we're talking about the weight classes,
or maybe that was Burrows too, but basically it was like, hey,
stay out of my weight class, like this is what
I'm gonna be or whatever.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
So Borrows got in on the talk.

Speaker 3 (17:26):
Yeah yeah, yeah, So you know again this is this
is not the first time social media trash talk has
happened amongst wrestlers, won't.

Speaker 4 (17:33):
Be the last time.

Speaker 3 (17:35):
Maybe I'll have to reread the quote again because I
didn't remember it being that bad.

Speaker 5 (17:38):
Maybe it was.

Speaker 4 (17:40):
No, I mean it was bad, Okay, yeah, tough.

Speaker 2 (17:46):
The picture was.

Speaker 1 (17:47):
And the thing is I feel like there were there
were there were definitely more pictures than I only saw
a screenshot. I didn't see the actual post. There's multiple
pictures that are in there. Oh no, so I only
saw this the probably like the word of the of
the worst that we're in there. I didn't look at
the whole post.

Speaker 6 (18:04):
So hopefully it's still uh.

Speaker 2 (18:07):
And and and hopefully it's there.

Speaker 1 (18:10):
But I'm sure there's a you know, caption alone. This
is this is good stuff. And like I said, I
hope Ferrari fires back, but I hope that we keep it,
keep it contained, right, Like, we don't need to go
Connor McGregor throwing stuff at a bus.

Speaker 2 (18:27):
We we need to keep it contained.

Speaker 1 (18:29):
Go a little social media happy fire, some shots back
and forth, go out there and wrestle with the match
and be fair, be aggressive, but you know, keep it
within the rules. But as as my as my very
good friend Mike Mouse says, Robin's racing here, folks, and
there's a little Robin and it's it's gonna happen.

Speaker 5 (18:49):
Part of me really likes this because there are two villains, right,
oh yeah, either either love Storacchi or.

Speaker 8 (18:56):
You hate them, depending which had the coin fall for
Penn State.

Speaker 5 (19:00):
A lot of people don't like Ferrari.

Speaker 8 (19:02):
There's a few out there that still do you know,
given his troubles with the law and everything, which Starachi
did bring up spoilert but yeah, it's it's I think
it's a perfect mesh of villain versus villain. And you know,
one guy's a villain because he stays close to that
line like you're saying, Holmes. The other guy has been
way over the line, you know, and outside of wrestling

(19:24):
and in real life and everything too.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
So it's it'll be good.

Speaker 8 (19:28):
I'm really interested to see how Ferrari responds, if he does,
because everything that dude posts is pretty cringeworthy. I think
this is if he does respond, it's going to be
extra cringey. But I mean, we'll see. He might be
smart just to not respond because that three hundred thousand
offer that Sarrachi has that's a lot of money.

Speaker 5 (19:48):
Man.

Speaker 2 (19:48):
Them some deep pockets.

Speaker 1 (19:50):
And you see why when the video came out from
Breaking Mead where he was saying CARTERI Sarachi's making one
point two or one point three million, Carter said, stop
pocket watching them. Pockets are deep. Pockets are deep. So
like I said, I love it.

Speaker 2 (20:06):
I think it's great.

Speaker 1 (20:08):
You know, keep it keep it within, you know, keep
keeping within the bumpers here. If we're we're gonna keep
with our our analogies here, keep the bumpers up if
you're you're bowling down this lane.

Speaker 2 (20:16):
And let's just have some fun, right, like, have a
good match.

Speaker 1 (20:22):
Let's build off this. And you know, as you said,
it is villain versus villain. Wasn't there like a like
a cartoon villain versus villain on like Mad TV or
something like that in the day, probably spot By versus
spot There you go.

Speaker 8 (20:33):
Yeah, see I was gonna say red and stimpy, but
I was right off.

Speaker 1 (20:40):
I think I like I said, and and honestly, like,
if you're watching us, right, put it.

Speaker 2 (20:44):
Put it in the comments.

Speaker 1 (20:45):
Let us know how you feel about trash talk. Let
us know how you feel about this specific trash talk
and how these guys are going back and forth about things.
You know, I was hoping that Saratch would be up
in ninety seven. It appears he's going to be at
ninety or at eighty four, just based off his you know,
saying he's going to go up to ninety seven for
one time and one time only to wrestle him in

(21:07):
the in the All Star Classic. But yeah, this is
not the first time we've had any trash talk. It
won't be the last. I hope it continues and we
get even more of it. So yeah, I'm curious to
last thoughts.

Speaker 8 (21:19):
I'm scariously what people think as well, because whether you
like Carter or not, I mean, you like what he
said or not, but it's directed at a guy that maybe.

Speaker 5 (21:28):
Deserves it more than others.

Speaker 8 (21:30):
Right, It's not like a J's been out here very apologetic,
you know, please forgive me I made mistakes.

Speaker 5 (21:36):
He's still chirping.

Speaker 8 (21:38):
So part of me is like, you know, good for
Carter for saying what kind of needed to be said,
maybe what most people were thinking and maybe not able
to say it. But part of me is like, you know,
you're you're still an athlete, You're still NCA athlete. You
know you got coaches overlooking you, especially at Penn State
who don't like to talk a lot, you know. So
I'm sure I'm sure he's gotten a text already. But yeah,

(22:00):
it'd be interesting to see what people think.

Speaker 2 (22:02):
Is the place still up? I know you guys are
looking for still Up?

Speaker 3 (22:05):
Yeah, it's on Twitter too, and like it or not,
on the Twitter, Mike skills matter.

Speaker 4 (22:11):
Look at WWE.

Speaker 3 (22:12):
The Rock could not become the Rock just because he
lifts lots of weights.

Speaker 6 (22:16):
You know, wasn't successful there too.

Speaker 3 (22:19):
The people's elbow didn't create itself. The people created that,
you know. So yeah, that's that's how this works. The trash,
you have some fun, you get in the mix, all
of a sudden, you're a headliner.

Speaker 2 (22:33):
Yeah, that's how it works.

Speaker 1 (22:35):
And with that we will transition to non Olympic weight
World Team trials said, going down in Omaha, Nebraska this weekend,
and it's gonna be awesome. And I'm specifically talking about
the men's freestyle weights, the four that we have.

Speaker 2 (22:52):
I think it's gonna be great.

Speaker 1 (22:54):
Currently we have vetos sitting out at sixty one, is
the heat sitting out in ninety two. These are all
up for grabs. We're gonna start with sixty one. We're
gonna leave seventy nine to to last because I mean,
let's call what it is. That is the way everybody's
waiting to see.

Speaker 2 (23:11):
But sixty one is gonna be.

Speaker 1 (23:12):
Like I said, I think it's gonna be good, up
and down, up and down the you know, the men's
freestyle side of things. But sixty one, it's got it's
got some dudes in here. It's got some dudes in here.
I've I've got you know, I'm gonna leave the two
high schoolers out for right now. But Fix Gross Nashon

(23:33):
DeSanto guys that have done things on the NCAA level.
Obviously Fixing Gross both have made World teams in the past.
Fixes is with silver at this weight in twenty twenty one.
Gross was the rep at this weight in twenty twenty two,
and then, like I said, Vedos sitting out because he

(23:53):
was the returning champ. But the two high schoolers that
have really kind of to caught fire and ended up
making the trials with Blaze and Forest, and you know,
Marcus Blaze, he really made some headlines at the beginning

(24:13):
of the year, beginning of the the NCAAA year when
he went into the What tournament was that that he
went into?

Speaker 2 (24:23):
Is that Journeyman?

Speaker 5 (24:25):
No, that's that's I don't know. I think it was
Edinburgh or Farian.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
Yeah, I might have been playing with maybe one of those.
It was one of the early really early open, yeah,
early open.

Speaker 1 (24:36):
But that's where he, you know, truly made made kind
of a lot of headway and then just continued to
do it as of recently. He was just bronze at
U twenties, so he's you know, coming back from U
twenties and throwing his hat right in the mix here
at sixty one. And him and Jack's Forest are a
couple of guys that I think people are going to

(24:58):
expect a lot from in the coming years. Selfishly, I
hope they end up at different weight classes at some point,
because they would be that you know, Taylor Dake Dake
Burrows esque type murderers, Row that we have in the middle,
or at least had in the middle when we have
our ten weights. But Blaze beat Forest at the was

(25:21):
it the Olympic Trials eight one for third place?

Speaker 5 (25:25):
Right? Like?

Speaker 1 (25:26):
Can't be bad if we've got a couple of high
school kids wrestling for third place at the Olympic Trials, Right,
But who do you guys see, Robbie, I'll come to
you first. Who do you see coming out on top
to meet Veto in the finals for this one?

Speaker 5 (25:45):
Yeah?

Speaker 6 (25:45):
I like Dayton. His freestyle chops are just there. He's
proven to be a winner, He's held the spot before.
I think him at Veto would be a really fun
match too. But there's definitely some talent this m.

Speaker 2 (26:04):
Agreed.

Speaker 1 (26:04):
I think with Dayton too, right, like fifty seven is
a cut for him, and we really saw how that
did not work out. I mean, he made it to
the Semis, ultimately losing to Gilman six nothing, which notably
Jax Farrest gave Gilman everything he wanted when they wrestled,
nearly beat Gilman lost to him five before you know,

(26:29):
Jacks fars technic Liam crowned in the first round ten
Oh like done. So you know it's in mind you
he went through the last chance qualified to even make
it to that. But yeah, I feel like it's essentially
Dayton's challenged tournament to lose based on him being the

(26:51):
highest placing contender here. Nashan in the mix. Yet to
make a world team, I don't think Nashan has been
on a world team yet.

Speaker 3 (27:01):
He did make it the one year, but then he
got hurt, and then he got hurt he took his spot.

Speaker 4 (27:06):
Yeah, place bronze.

Speaker 2 (27:08):
I think, yeah, so.

Speaker 1 (27:11):
It's I think Nashan is one of those guys that
we will see and him and possibly Gross we will
see maybe this.

Speaker 2 (27:22):
Is the end for them.

Speaker 1 (27:25):
If if I had to pick two guys, it would
be them, but I think Gross didn't.

Speaker 6 (27:29):
He just announced that he's moving.

Speaker 2 (27:31):
He just moved. Him and him and and his wife
just moved.

Speaker 6 (27:37):
You're starting a new club?

Speaker 5 (27:39):
Correct?

Speaker 2 (27:39):
New club?

Speaker 5 (27:40):
Yeah?

Speaker 1 (27:40):
I can't remember where they moved. Maybe maybe south back
to South Dakota. I think it is to South Dakota.
I think to open a new club. But yeah, him
and Rana and and there what is their son? I
believe just moved and they're going to have their own club.
But I think Gross gives fixed issues. I think Gross

(28:00):
gives everybody's issues, honestly, because he's super unorthodotic, crazy and
it's a completely different style that people are just not
used to, kind of the same that it was in
folk style.

Speaker 2 (28:15):
But you know, Gross Russell for Brons.

Speaker 1 (28:17):
In twenty twenty two, ultimately losing the Harrytunian the only
you know, the match that he lost was to Haguchi
who ended up winning it. And we just saw what
Rayhaugucci did at Olympics, So to not band losses turns
out pretty damn good, right. But keV Austin, what are
your guys thoughts on sixty one? Who are you pinpointing to?
Be the guy that meets Vito. I will say that

(28:40):
I am picking Veto to be our rep here at
sixty one.

Speaker 4 (28:43):
Though, still go ahead, Austin.

Speaker 8 (28:46):
Yeah, I kind of agree with Fix there. I mean,
he's kind of the guy that's done it for a
little bit as one World medals, like you said, and
I'm interested to see him now that he's had a
few months with Gilman, David Taylor, you know, and those
new guys at the Cowboy RTC, just seeing if there's
any little more you know, maybe a little more offense

(29:06):
to him, but you know, just any anything he's picked
up from them that might be a little bit more
different and lead to him scoring more points. I think
that'll be fun. And you know, Forrest and Blaze, I
could watch those guys with us all day. There's they're
half my age, but they're so freaking good at wrestling.

Speaker 5 (29:22):
It's fun. It's fun to watch.

Speaker 8 (29:24):
I'm always pulled for for Garrett too, you know, being
a Cornell guy. Now they have Valley Wrestling Club, you know,
always watching him.

Speaker 5 (29:31):
He's exciting.

Speaker 8 (29:32):
Just hasn't really gotten on that on that stage yet,
you know, and it's tough to do that obviously, right,
But it'd be fun to see him pull through too.

Speaker 3 (29:43):
Yeah, I mean, Fix is the obvious guy, right gross, Yeah,
he beat him that one year for the spot, but
I think, you know, the record between those two at
the senior level is heavily favors Fixed, if I remember
that correctly. But the Santo will be interesting. He's looked
pretty tough at times in freestyle. He seems to have

(30:06):
developed some additional offense that doesn't just require him like
hooking on that arm, like just a leech, you know.

Speaker 4 (30:13):
So that's good.

Speaker 3 (30:15):
But I'm really excited to seeing a here Bailey man,
like that guy went up there on fire at NC.

Speaker 4 (30:22):
Double A's this year.

Speaker 3 (30:23):
He's clearly got a lot of different ways to attacks.
You know, He's developed into a pretty dangerous wrestler. So
I'm excited to see what he's able to do, how
deep he's going to be able to go in the tournament,
and maybe kind of start, you know, prophesizing what he
could do this year at NC Double A's because one

(30:44):
thirty threes opened up a bit. So, yeah, it's gonna
be fun to see.

Speaker 1 (30:50):
Agreed on the Bailey tip, I think that he's he
is a dynamic wrestler.

Speaker 2 (30:57):
We saw it. He's got a lot of different.

Speaker 1 (30:58):
Ways to get to the leg as well as on
on your point about the Santo I feel like the
legend of de Santo is what makes him a guy
to watch. I think he's very good at wrestling, but

(31:19):
it just hasn't measured up to these guys yet, right,
I just it's just very hard for me to say
that he would be any of these guys from what
we've seen. Right, We've seen Blaze and Jax Florres both
beat guys that are.

Speaker 2 (31:37):
On higher tier than DeSanto. You know, we've seen it happen.

Speaker 3 (31:42):
So that's the wild thing with DeSanto is it's always
seemed like he's had a ceiling like he kind of
knew he was going to place fifth or sixth, like
every year, like be or at least be in that mix,
you know, at least those last couple of years, right,
but he knew he wasn't going to beat those top
tier guys. And you know, he again he has shown

(32:02):
improvement and additional added offense. I feel like, uh, since
going up to the senior level, but again, I just
don't know if he's going to get past those top guys.

Speaker 5 (32:12):
I don't think and.

Speaker 8 (32:14):
Maybe he's riding that Spencer Lee high from for the
Olympics too. You know, he saw his teammate go out
and win an Olympic silver. You know, so maybe the
Santles riding that that wave there too.

Speaker 1 (32:25):
You know, is everyone still taking Veto? Who is sitting
out a healthy Veto? I believe he is healthy now
too to take this wave.

Speaker 5 (32:39):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I agree.

Speaker 4 (32:41):
I think he defends the world title. I think he
wins it again.

Speaker 6 (32:45):
He's not going to disagree with that.

Speaker 2 (32:47):
Yeah, I can see that, especially if you don't.

Speaker 4 (32:50):
Hate America, Robbie.

Speaker 1 (32:51):
So that's good that, especially if he's healthy.

Speaker 2 (32:57):
Yeah, now the man it is.

Speaker 1 (33:02):
I was gonna say, seventy might be the second best
wait here, but it is honestly a toss up between
sixty one and seventy for me. But seventy is gonna
be a lot of fun. It really is going to
be a lot of fun because we've got some old
guys and we've got some young guys, and the old

(33:23):
guys got firepower, right.

Speaker 2 (33:25):
Jordan Oliver James Green.

Speaker 1 (33:27):
James Green obviously world silver medals, two time world world
medalists with a silver and a bronze and you know,
Jordan Oliver was on the Olympic team. Wasn't you know
it wasn't an Olympian, but wasn an Olympic team member
missed it by one point. We've seen Jo lose to Pantellio,

(33:49):
who's also here, and we've seen Aleirez beat Pantellio at
the US Open to win the US Open. So man,
it I think it's gonna be a lot of fun.
The other the other guy that I think can do
some damage here as well as Larkin. Larkin looked really

(34:10):
good at the Olympic trials, like really good.

Speaker 2 (34:12):
He gave Yanni a scare.

Speaker 1 (34:15):
I mean, it's it's Yanni and he's prone to be
in matches that.

Speaker 2 (34:21):
Have video review.

Speaker 1 (34:22):
But Larkin, I mean he kind of came out and
did his thing and looked real good doing it and.

Speaker 2 (34:31):
Shocked a lot of people. I mean, he texts Collodzik
right off the bat.

Speaker 1 (34:35):
So I feel like, I feel like he's kind of
the kind of the guy like a little bit ready
in waiting, right, But I'm interested to see what James
Green and his new hip habit at his old weight
class and what Jo can do with.

Speaker 2 (34:53):
Training MMA.

Speaker 1 (34:54):
For the most part, He's back to training with Kenny Monday,
and we'll so certainly see what he can bring with
not being a full time wrestler anymore. I think this
is a one time thing for him. I think James
Green goes until twenty twenty eight with that new hip.
I don't think you come back just to wrestle in

(35:16):
the Olympic Trials and then or trying to make another
world team and then that's it. I think he goes
the full quad, so I think that'll be it for
him after twenty twenty eight. But man, it's hard for
me to not pick a Lires here because of what
we've seen. And I'm also surprised that Jesse Mendez isn't

(35:37):
isn't registered yet. I don't know if he's going to register,
but as of right now, he is not on the list.
But man, I I'm feeling I'm feeling a Liires can
do some damage.

Speaker 2 (35:51):
I really do. Any thoughts, I mean, I'm.

Speaker 6 (35:56):
Gonna go a big weight. There's a lot of people
in this one.

Speaker 5 (36:00):
Yeah it is.

Speaker 3 (36:02):
I'm gonna go with Pantalio, like I have to pick
my dude. Yeah, I'm fine, Homer picks can be right though,
you know, because it's a Homer pick doesn't mean it's
gonna be.

Speaker 4 (36:16):
Yeah.

Speaker 3 (36:18):
But I mean, like, honestly, the last time we saw
him competing at these trials, what didn't he lose to
to Retherford last year in the two out of three finals.
I thought it was so and then Rutherford won the world,
you know, like that's a good thing to win too.
So if so Facto Pantaleo was second in the world.

(36:38):
So I'm gonna I'm gonna go with that logic and
I'm gonna I'm gonna ride it all the.

Speaker 4 (36:45):
Way through the victory here.

Speaker 3 (36:49):
I love the Aras pick just because I'm a big
Oleras fan, and I mean it's just gonna be awesome.

Speaker 1 (36:58):
Don't steal my I was gonna say, I just stole
the acc thunder right there.

Speaker 4 (37:02):
You want to see it, I'll let you elaborate on. Robbie,
don't don't worry. I'll let you get into it.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
The last guy he listen, he's got ninety two, don't worry.

Speaker 6 (37:10):
Yeah, Yeah, there's a lot here too.

Speaker 4 (37:12):
The last piece I did want to say, though, is
will Lawan. Man Will Lawan.

Speaker 3 (37:16):
Jumping in here at seventy kilograms. His freestyle debut. I
don't think i've seen him Russell freestyle since he won
a Cadet World title.

Speaker 4 (37:23):
You know, pasid points are real, so this will be
this will be cool.

Speaker 3 (37:28):
Man.

Speaker 4 (37:29):
I'm excited to see him out there and what that's
going to look like.

Speaker 6 (37:32):
I'd be excited to see some offense from that'd be
kind of cool.

Speaker 4 (37:36):
Well, can you score points with offense in freestyle?

Speaker 5 (37:40):
What's he gonna do without overtime? That's my concern. How's
he going to win or lose without overtime?

Speaker 2 (37:48):
He doesn't, I'm calling it right now.

Speaker 1 (37:50):
There's a lefty headlock coming in the first match.

Speaker 4 (37:52):
Oh man, I just want to see it.

Speaker 3 (37:54):
Man, I'm excited if if, if he can get that going, that'll.

Speaker 2 (37:59):
Be I honestly feel like freestyle would open him up.

Speaker 1 (38:02):
I really do, because you you have to be something
you got shut down.

Speaker 4 (38:08):
You cannot make him shut down more.

Speaker 1 (38:10):
Folks style is folk style is rigid, though, man, Folks
style is rigid.

Speaker 2 (38:13):
It really is so. And you can you can game
that system.

Speaker 1 (38:17):
A lot easier than you're gameing a system in in
in freestyle.

Speaker 2 (38:22):
It's hard to do. It's really hard to do.

Speaker 1 (38:25):
Because now if he steps off the mat, he's given
up a point, where as opposed to when somebody shoots
on him before go ahead, drive me on Matt, who
cares like, I'll try and get back in, but I'm
not really.

Speaker 5 (38:38):
Wait for overtime to score.

Speaker 2 (38:39):
That's fine, I'll make it look good right like. So yeah,
I think I think he can.

Speaker 1 (38:44):
Like I said, we've seen him wrestle freestyle and greco before.
He's got throws, he's got upper body, so I think
you know calling it mark it down. There's there's gonna
be a lefty headlock thrown by Will in the first match.
I think he comes out guns blazing in that first
match off an underhooked too.

Speaker 2 (39:04):
Like just like rips it.

Speaker 1 (39:06):
But that's just me and any any coast to like
a five, five, two, six sixty three win is what
I think.

Speaker 6 (39:15):
Watch him go against Dan Donian and just throws and throws.

Speaker 2 (39:18):
If that's match, I hope we get that.

Speaker 4 (39:25):
Ah Man, just double the launches for Wan.

Speaker 6 (39:30):
I think there's a ton of like land mines in
this this bracket that could potentially.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
Now come from the AC.

Speaker 6 (39:40):
A lot of them do, but I mean just this
this bracket in general is super a CC it is
Ian Parker's coaching the a C C. Jade Navis, a
CC Evan Henderson was acc Andonian Jackson Arrington. So I
mean that's that's half this weight class that signed up
so far as our a you see, guys. But I

(40:01):
mean and Doonian' is a wild card and that's he
always is. He can beat anybody and he can do
wild ship in any position. So freestylas you know, could
be really good for him where it could be a
lot of points against him for doing the wacky shit
that he does and rolling across his back to throw people.

(40:23):
So it's uh, you know, six and one half a
dozen to the other there. But there's there's some serious
talent that could could knock people off. I think you're
right super excited to see what Greasy can do. He's
back home, he's got a new hip. I would like
a new hip, like you know how that feels super

(40:45):
excited for him. I think he's he's in a really
good spot. He looks great, just you know, watching his training.
JB's been back there training with him in Nebraska, and
he just looks healthy, he looks happy, he looks good.
So I think he's in a really good. Spot Aalires
is tough. I think he could be really good. I'm

(41:07):
not sure who I see coming out, because I mean,
Jo could beat anybody.

Speaker 2 (41:11):
So my Homer pick would be Jo.

Speaker 1 (41:14):
I mean, Shitty's family so trying to stave off nasty
phone calls from home. But no, I mean for me,
I guess recency bias would be Aleiras because of what
we've seen from him at the trials and what we
saw from him at the US Open and things like that.

(41:35):
I don't know what some of these other guys are bringing. Obviously,
I'm not going to rest I'm not going to put
much steak in what we saw from James Green at
the trials because it's it's the same sixty five kilo
James Green that we've seen in the past. It's just
not his weight class, so it's just not going to
look good. But seventy it's different, very much so different

(41:59):
so and not just the five kilos you add onto it.
So it's it's his weight class and it's been his
weight class a lot in the past, and you know,
as we said, it's it's a new hip and weight class.
So I think it can vote very well for him.
If anything, But yeah, like I said, I would as

(42:20):
a my my biggest bias of everything ever is covering family,
which would be Jordan Oliver, and I as a Homer pick,
would love to see him win and wrestle at a
World Championships.

Speaker 2 (42:37):
I just don't know what he's bringing.

Speaker 1 (42:38):
Not that I'm picking against him, I'm picking him, But
if anybody is going to take it based off of
what we've seen recently, I think it could be Alires
Austin your thoughts.

Speaker 8 (42:52):
I might have to go claunch on this one. I'd
say Pantaleo. I just think this is his weight class.

Speaker 5 (42:56):
He is. He was too big for sixty five. That
was obvious.

Speaker 8 (43:00):
She had to get out of there early with the
way cup being so big.

Speaker 5 (43:03):
But I just think he's he's a brick house man.
He's he's good, he's tough, he's been there.

Speaker 8 (43:10):
But Aliras is I think right behind him too. So
if I had to pick one, I'd say Pantaleo.

Speaker 5 (43:16):
AliOS will give him a run.

Speaker 8 (43:17):
And we talked about high school kids before. I think
PJ PJ Duke, I think he's one to watch out.
Maybe not be in the top three, top four, but
just wrestled off at your twenties, right, did pretty well there.

Speaker 5 (43:30):
I think he got bronze. He was silver, silver, silver.

Speaker 8 (43:34):
Okay, I know we lost once, but yeah, it's curious
to see how a guy like that does it at
a weight class like this. Like you said, all these
old guys in a mix of young guys and pretty
much a crapshit from there.

Speaker 2 (43:48):
Agreed, agreed, agreed all around, Yeah, it could.

Speaker 1 (43:50):
It's really anybody's game at seventy seventy is going to
be certainly a way to watch because you just don't
know who's going to come out on top.

Speaker 5 (43:58):
Have we seen kaniro John wrestle in a while or
spend it right?

Speaker 2 (44:03):
A year he was suspended. He got that year back too,
by the.

Speaker 5 (44:05):
Way he did. I just haven't seen him wrestle, so
we be interesting to see what he looks like too.

Speaker 3 (44:09):
Yeah, he's he's.

Speaker 5 (44:11):
Pretty pretty damn good when he's on.

Speaker 2 (44:15):
Yeah, agreed.

Speaker 1 (44:18):
Let's skip seventy nine for right now and go to
go to ninety two. And I'm just going to let
Robbie have his acc moment and talk about all his
friends that he loves so much and so have that.

Speaker 6 (44:33):
There's some there's some great people in this in this
way class, they're they're all right, just okay, genuinely to
two of my favorite people that I've had the opportunity
to to work with and to cover. Trent Highly and
Jail are both in this one. Mike Mac was a

(44:58):
little bit before my time. But this is a tough
weight and we've got some people with some some real skill.
But I like I like Jay, I like Trent, I
like Mike Mock. I mean, all three of those guys
have a really really good chance to get now to

(45:19):
see the heat. I could very much see in all
acc final to get to the heat.

Speaker 1 (45:28):
Agree with that statement, I think, I think. I think
pat Downey comes in and just starts spiking dudes on
their head.

Speaker 2 (45:37):
No, I'm completely.

Speaker 1 (45:38):
Kidding pat Downey. Pat Downey, I hope he shows Come on,
he showed up. He showed up to the Olympic Trials.
He was there.

Speaker 2 (45:48):
He showed up.

Speaker 1 (45:50):
And listen, in full on Pat pat Downey style. I'm
going to talk before I win, I'm gonna talk after
I lose. I'm gonna talk. That's pat Downey and listen
he I have had conversations with Pat Downey where he's

(46:11):
taken responsibility for his own actions. He knows the best past.
But like Pat, Downey is unapologetic and he is him.
And I can't wait just to see if he's been
training more for this than he was for the Olympic. Well,

(46:31):
that's the thing is you remember when Pat made the
world team when I mean, obviously you know David Taylor
was hurt, but when he was training with n j
RTC he was he was looking good, So he was good.
I mean, and don't forget he is the man's an
All American as well. That ain't hard to do. That's
not easy to do. So like I give Pat his props.

(46:54):
Man like he he may be a wild ass dude,
but he can scrap when he when he really wants
to scrap, you know, so on and off the mat,
on and off the Matt, Pat will scrap, which is so,
But no, I think, yeah, I don't think it would

(47:16):
matter back Alley, he will fight you, But no, I think,
you know, I think this is obviously the heat's weight.
I don't think that anybody beats the heat here, barring
a single grab, I don't think anybody beats the heat.

Speaker 2 (47:33):
But yeah, I.

Speaker 1 (47:36):
Think that it is going to be another Trent versus
the Heat match in the finals.

Speaker 6 (47:43):
I agree, and I think I think Trent has a
shot at it.

Speaker 5 (47:46):
I do.

Speaker 6 (47:48):
I think this is a good weight for me. He's
put on good size, and if anybody can push the
Heat around, it's Trent with that underhook. So we've seen
that if the Heat can get through run off of
his game, then it's tougher for him to score and
to make things happen. So I think if anybody has
the chance of doing it, Trent, Trent is right up there.

Speaker 4 (48:11):
That's that's the interesting thing to know with Trent, And
I don't I think.

Speaker 3 (48:15):
That the biggest threat to the Heed, you know, is
is in fact Trent. But the thing that that the
Heat has that I think makes him dangerous in general
is just he's got so such a large diversity of attacks, right,
he can attack both sides. He can you know, throw
that underhook in himself and kind of try to control

(48:35):
the center of the mat that way.

Speaker 4 (48:36):
He does a really good job.

Speaker 3 (48:38):
And a lot of the things that we don't talk
about was the Heat just because his pace is so
high and he's he's constantly doing so much that it's
it's easy to kind of overlook the the the basics
of still holding center, controlling the pace, you know, being
able to fight through a tie up that he doesn't
want to be in, and and.

Speaker 4 (48:57):
Get back to his own offense.

Speaker 3 (48:58):
So and you know, Micah Machiavello is awesome too, and
he's obviously shown great things in his transition to you know,
from essentially like Cinderella National champ to the senior level.

Speaker 4 (49:14):
You know, I remember I.

Speaker 3 (49:16):
Was like, well, I guess we'll see what this turns into.
But he's turned into a really good senior level restler too.

Speaker 2 (49:21):
M h.

Speaker 4 (49:22):
And then didn't you have.

Speaker 3 (49:22):
A bunch of drama where like he was suspended or
something or they thought he wasn't gonna be eligible and
he came back, or maybe it was a health thing.

Speaker 4 (49:30):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (49:31):
I don't know, I don't recall exactly, but I feel
like he had to step away from the mat for
a while before coming back recently.

Speaker 4 (49:37):
So hey, maybe this is his his go.

Speaker 3 (49:40):
He knows like, hey, I don't know how many years
of competition I have left, and let me get in
here and see what I can do and try to
run that spot. Marcus Coleman will be fun to watch.
Cam Caffy will be fun to watch. Eric Schultz will
be fun to watch. But you know, outside of the
heat mock and uh, I think that's kind of the

(50:01):
top three and then.

Speaker 6 (50:02):
The wild card of pat Down. I mean, like, like said,
beat a lot of.

Speaker 3 (50:09):
People at this point, he's the wild card, like Charlie
Kelly from It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, all right, he
just yells wild card and jumps out of the back
of the van like he's not the card in the
sense that like he's going to do damage at the tournaments.

Speaker 4 (50:25):
Wild Card.

Speaker 8 (50:31):
Yeah, I think I think highly is the favorite to
meet Valencia, and I think Valencia does have that slight advantage,
but drinking some of Robbie's kool aid, I think Hiddley
does have a chance here.

Speaker 5 (50:43):
I think it'll be.

Speaker 6 (50:44):
Like you said it right once and then you then
you reverted.

Speaker 8 (50:47):
To you sorry sorry, but yeah, I mean, there'd be
nothing cool.

Speaker 2 (50:52):
He's even from Pennsylvania. You gotta get the name right.

Speaker 5 (50:55):
But seeing him do this after he wins would be
really cool. His name is so quick.

Speaker 6 (51:01):
Story on that. This weekend, my my oldest son was
playing goalie and and he made a save raised the
roof Trent a message right afterwards. It's like, I apparently
we've been watching too much of Trent highly matches, because did.

Speaker 2 (51:19):
You get it on camera?

Speaker 5 (51:21):
No?

Speaker 6 (51:22):
I wish I did phenomenal.

Speaker 2 (51:24):
You're telling me all those cell phones there and no
one got it on camera. Somebody's got to have it somewhere.

Speaker 6 (51:30):
Probably it was pretty fantastic.

Speaker 5 (51:34):
Though.

Speaker 9 (51:35):
Yeah, I think if anyone knows Trent's style, even though
they have not trained together in over a year, it's mock.

Speaker 2 (51:48):
They train together for a long time.

Speaker 1 (51:51):
And even though Trent has more size and he probably
has a couple more tricks with the underhook, I want
one of which I saw recently where he went under
hook and then came back with an arm drag off
of it. Arm drag go behind and it was pretty
slick and I liked it. But I man, it's it's

(52:16):
tough because Trent has the offense of the underhook, Mack
has some different tricks in his bag, and we know
what you know, like I said, we know what Trend's bringing.
So like, I really think that if anybody can beat Trent,
it's it's mock. Outside of Zeheid obviously, I think on
the way to Zaheid. I'm gonna be a little bit different.

(52:39):
I'm gonna take Mock to make to meet Zaheid, just
so we don't have the graphic of you know.

Speaker 2 (52:46):
For Trent Hidley bases on our on our picks here.

Speaker 6 (52:51):
Mike Mock fantastic, hair, fantastic.

Speaker 1 (52:56):
He's an ultimate gentleman as well. He's a rate dude,
great dude. But yeah, I'm gonna take Mock. And that's,
you know, mostly because I think the match between him
and Trend is a toss up. And if anyone in
this entire bracket has any sort of tricks, maybe not tricks,

(53:19):
but has a game plan to go up against Trend,
I feel like it would be a guy that has
trained with him enough.

Speaker 2 (53:29):
That's just just my thought.

Speaker 1 (53:31):
And then we have the weight class everybody wants to see,
featuring none other than seven times World Olympic champion man
with ten total medals, Jordan Ernest Burrows. It's seventy nine kilos.
This weight class I think is going to be kind
of a last of the big guns essentially, where Burrows

(53:58):
is done after this. I think Ringer is done after this.
I think I don't think chance. I think there is
a chance no pun intended that Chance goes until twenty
twenty eight, but I could also see him saying, all right,
I'm out, And then there's the car ohtool factor as well.

(54:20):
Here I'm I'm not betting against Burrows. I know that
Chance defeated Burrows at the at Final X in twenty
twenty three, but it's still Jordan Burrows, right, and I
feel like he's going to go harder than ever as

(54:45):
much as he can, for as long as he can,
because there's there's you know, as Johnny Julius says, there's
no tomorrow. So I am picking Jordan Burrows in this bracket.

Speaker 2 (55:00):
I feel like.

Speaker 1 (55:03):
He probably learned the reattacks that Chance was able to
capitalize on the last time they wrestled at Final X
where Jordan would take a shot and Trent Trent and
Chance was on his leg. You know, as he's coming
out of it where you can't stay there, you can't
stay in front of him. You got to make sure

(55:24):
you're moving, you got to make sure you're circling, you're
committing to your shots. It's the tree trunk legs and
the short base that Chance has that it is tough
to get to. I feel like Chance in Pantellio are
same style of guys, tough to get to their legs,
you know, not very tall, but strong as ox right.

Speaker 2 (55:48):
But man, I.

Speaker 1 (55:50):
Would love to see ring or do some stuff here.
But yeah, I think those the wild cards for me
here is Car Otool. I think, oh if I think
before getting to Burrows that o'tool can beat Chance. I

(56:12):
don't know if Car can beat Chance just based on
the styles, because o'tool has a very different style than Car.
I know Car can beat o'tool, but it's freestyle now,
it's a little bit different, and I feel like O'Toole

(56:33):
probably has some complete pun intended some tools in the
toolbox that he can use against Chance with chances style
that match up well for him. Your thoughts, guys, I
would like too many of the people here. I want

(56:54):
them all to win. Can't we all win medals and go.

Speaker 2 (57:00):
And get it over with?

Speaker 3 (57:01):
No? I mean honestly, like, I'm gonna comment on on
a lot of the other guys I'm looking forward to seeing,
like Joey Bianki and Hunter Garvin, you know, both guys
who had good years last year. I think Garvin was
an All American for Stanford, so that'll be cool to
see them. Noh, mulvaney, he was buck Nell kid right
with the great hair hairline. Yeah, all right, yes, we're

(57:25):
we're in the same boat there, no no uh no
negative thoughts there about your hairline, buddy, Joey Valley's looked good.
Evan Wick has always looked good. I always like watching
or excuse me, that time great, that's trusting Grant and
Mind a different person. But Evan Wick is gonna be fun.
I mean, if I'm I'm going to the top here,
like if it's daring her Burrows, I'm happy, you know,

(57:51):
that's it, and I want to be happy.

Speaker 1 (57:54):
So not to say that you'd be unhappy if it
was chance, but you're you're looking at guys that are
yea that are riding off into the sunset most but
probably going to ride off into the sunset when this
is done.

Speaker 3 (58:06):
Yeah, that's pretty much that those are. Yeah, I've had
too many interactions with with Deeringer and to not want
that to happen.

Speaker 4 (58:14):
And and Burrows is the man.

Speaker 3 (58:15):
You know, good things usually happen on our teams when
Burrows is on them.

Speaker 4 (58:20):
So that's that's great too.

Speaker 3 (58:22):
If we're gonna get a young guy who comes out
and gets it done. Like I'm I'll pick a David Carr. Like, dude,
he went through the toughest weight class we've seen in
so many years at one sixty five the year at
NCAA to get it done and had to beat O'Toole
in the semis and and you know, avenge those losses
and figure that out. He's you know, I almost feel

(58:45):
like he suffered from the the like Yanni. Not Yanni,
but veto syndrome last year, right where it's like, I'm
not wrestling O Tool. I'm just gonna go out there
and I want to get through the match, you know.

Speaker 2 (59:01):
And he was just chaining with Burrows too, he was
he was at Penn for a little while.

Speaker 4 (59:05):
Was he Yeah, I won't.

Speaker 3 (59:06):
I think David Carr if it's not gonna be one
of those old guys, but it's gonna be a young one.

Speaker 4 (59:10):
I'll go with David Karr.

Speaker 6 (59:15):
I like hegan for if we were looking at a
young guy. I think he's got a ton of upside.
I'm just kind of interested to see what he can
do in this in this weight. But I mean, I
think it's got to be dab I mean, it's it's hard.
It's been hard to pick against him since he you know,
busts onto the scene in twenty eleven, and he's done

(59:39):
so much for the sport as a whole, so much
for USA Wrestling. He's gotten us to a such a
better place than we were in when he started. And
he's back home in Nebraska, very likely his final go
It's hard to see. It's hard to think that he's

(01:00:00):
going to leave the shoes on the mat with anything
other than you know, a gold medal at at the
World Championships this year. That's that's my thought.

Speaker 5 (01:00:11):
I thought.

Speaker 6 (01:00:12):
I feel like he's got to go out on top,
and I don't see it it working any other way
for him.

Speaker 4 (01:00:17):
It's hard to do. Robbie.

Speaker 6 (01:00:20):
It turns out he's done it a few times.

Speaker 4 (01:00:22):
So will not leave his shoes on him?

Speaker 6 (01:00:24):
Matt No, the winning the world title thing.

Speaker 4 (01:00:29):
Yeah, he's done that a lot.

Speaker 2 (01:00:30):
Got a couple few of those.

Speaker 5 (01:00:34):
Yeah. I mean, I I agree with Robbie. It's hard
to pick against him.

Speaker 8 (01:00:38):
But you know, and I hate to say it, but
you know, father time is getting to Jordan Burrows. You
know we've seen him right, watch your mouths. The younger guys.
You know, he's got you twelve years younger than him.
We just haven't seen him make this team in a
few years. And I think that maybe that's a mental

(01:01:02):
thing for some of these guys too, you know, saying, hey,
Nolf beat him next year, and Dak.

Speaker 5 (01:01:07):
Has beating him in the past.

Speaker 8 (01:01:08):
Obviously those guys are special talents. But yeah, I think
it's out there that he is beatable. He's not the
same JB he used to be. But on the flip side,
agreeing with you guys, it's his last go it's his
last go around most likely, right, So as much as.

Speaker 5 (01:01:23):
I I'm going on the fence here, I gotta you
gotta pick burrows.

Speaker 8 (01:01:27):
You know, you can't count a guy out like him,
just he's been there too often and he always comes
out on top when it's when the lights of the brightest.

Speaker 6 (01:01:35):
So it's where we can song here. I mean as
good as I once was, but I'm good once as.

Speaker 4 (01:01:41):
I ever was.

Speaker 5 (01:01:42):
Yeah, that that is true.

Speaker 8 (01:01:44):
But yeah, I want to see Evan Wick and Marstella
wrestle again. You know, six foot six versus five foot
six is always one matchup.

Speaker 1 (01:01:53):
Shack versus Muggsy Bogues basically.

Speaker 5 (01:01:55):
Yeah, pretty much.

Speaker 6 (01:01:57):
Wick's healthy again too, so that'll be interesting to see.

Speaker 1 (01:02:03):
And I hate to downplay Chance in all this because
he did beat Burrows and.

Speaker 2 (01:02:15):
We watched it happen.

Speaker 1 (01:02:16):
The only thing is most people are like, well, it
shouldn't have been four for Chance.

Speaker 2 (01:02:22):
It should have been four for Burrows.

Speaker 1 (01:02:23):
It should have like that was the craziness all of it, right,
There was a singlet grab, there was the you know,
the there was just so much right, like Yanni's sitting here, like,
see it sucks, doesn't it?

Speaker 5 (01:02:38):
Right?

Speaker 1 (01:02:39):
Like it was a hell of a match and it
went three bouts. So I hate to downplay Chance's role
in this week class because it's going to be huge.
I mean, Burrows may be always the guy to be,
but Chance is going to be the number one seed.
He's the number one guy here right now, you know,

(01:03:01):
So like I just it's hard to it's wishful thinking.
And what I want to happen is I want to
see Jordan Burrows, after everything he has.

Speaker 2 (01:03:15):
Done, get his eighth gold.

Speaker 1 (01:03:18):
Gold medal, eleventh medal overall on the senior level and
be done like Peyton Manning it satisfied, done and that's
what I would love to see, so that's why I'm
picking him. I'm also picking him because I know he
can win. We've seen him win a ton and I

(01:03:42):
feel like he's learned. He learns so much from his
opponents each and every time out he learned from his opponents.
So you know, yeah, I agree, father time is serious.
You know, I fight that man every single day just
getting out of getting out of bed. These knees that
need to be popped in place. But like, I want

(01:04:06):
him to do it, put it that way, and I
can care less what the comments look like for this
bias that I have, but I want him to win
this spot, and I want him to go off and
win a gold medal.

Speaker 2 (01:04:18):
I will be happy no matter.

Speaker 1 (01:04:20):
Who wins this weight completely because I think, no matter
who we have here and go off and win a
gold medal at this weighted Worlds. But selfishly, I wanted
to be Jordan Burrows.

Speaker 3 (01:04:33):
Well, and that's what's interesting about this weight too. And
I think Burrows does fall into the category of this
at this point, but so many of these guys like
that's this is just what they weigh now, you know,
Like Jordan Burrows had to cut a lot to get
back down to seventy four.

Speaker 1 (01:04:47):
Whatever it was, it was a complete life change.

Speaker 3 (01:04:49):
Deering or just flat out was like I don't weigh
that one anymore. I'm going up to eighty six, you know,
like so many big anyway, right right, So but it's
like that's my point is like, you know, for a
guy like Burrows, guy like Deering or some of these
other guys, it's like, you know, Chance obviously is one
of these guys too.

Speaker 4 (01:05:06):
It's like, yeah, this is just this is just where
you could probably be naturally anyway.

Speaker 3 (01:05:11):
Sure, it's the non Olympic weight you know, however you
want to refer to it, But like, this is this
is just what chuweigh. So it's the best weight class
for you, independent of the fact that these guys are
all awesome competitors that we are fortunate to be able
to watch, like they're at the right weight too, I know.

Speaker 4 (01:05:30):
So this will be.

Speaker 1 (01:05:31):
Fun, agreed no matter what the fans win, and I'm
looking forward to World Team Trials.

Speaker 2 (01:05:39):
I think it's gonna be awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:05:41):
Any other final thoughts or do you guys want to
wrap this one up because I got nothing else?

Speaker 6 (01:05:48):
Yeah, one more tidbit that is not trials related. Max
Muran will be joining George Mason staff nice so becoming
uncommon with Frank with Frank Beasley and crew.

Speaker 5 (01:06:07):
You know.

Speaker 6 (01:06:08):
So that to the team today, so they gave the
go ahead to let him know. So that's a good
addition for them.

Speaker 4 (01:06:13):
I think. Dude, they got mirror and Annhile. Well it's
like really nice. So it's uh raising some funds down there.

Speaker 6 (01:06:26):
Yeah. Bes is a hell coach, great program builder, so
I'm excited to see what they can do there.

Speaker 2 (01:06:35):
Good great family too.

Speaker 1 (01:06:36):
When we were there, Yeah, he his wife like cooked
for us and you know in waded.

Speaker 2 (01:06:43):
Us over to dinner and everything out their house. So awesome.

Speaker 1 (01:06:46):
Him and his wife have their birthdays are back to
back days.

Speaker 6 (01:06:51):
Yeah, they the Frank and my wife this sname birthday.

Speaker 4 (01:06:56):
Nice.

Speaker 1 (01:06:56):
Yeah I realized that like recently when they both had birthdays.
So yeah, like it was hers and then the next
day it was his. I was like, and I knew
that because I, like I said, been at their house
and they would They were telling us a bunch of
different stories and stuff. But yeah, awesome, people love them.
Their kids are great. Kids are like geniuses too, the kids.
So yeah, I love those guys. That's awesome for for

(01:07:18):
them to get Mirror in. And then last week too,
and I think it was it was released the day
our show came.

Speaker 2 (01:07:26):
Out, but we had already known about it.

Speaker 1 (01:07:27):
Darrin Cruz going to Penn I'm gonna be an assistant
coach there, So that's awesome. First time that he's really
leaving the Lehigh Valley to do anything right. So I'm
sure that if he could have been on staff at
le High, he probably would have chose to do that.
But you know, an opportunity comes up. I'm sure Matt

(01:07:48):
Blenny picked up the phone and made that call from
you know, Pennsyvania, go to Pennsylvania guy and they got
it all done. So yeah, really good new additions with
Mirror and headed to George Mason and Darien headed to Penn.

Speaker 2 (01:08:03):
So pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (01:08:06):
See what other what other coaching opening started to get filled.
I'm sure that there's still a staff at Bloom that
is going to be it's going to be filled. And
I also saw on Frankie Edgar's podcast that Sebastian Rivera
said he's going to be joining the staff at Buffalo
with Donnie Pritzloff really, so he's going to be headed

(01:08:27):
there or Columbia, Yes, Columbia, Yeah.

Speaker 5 (01:08:31):
That I'm talking to.

Speaker 8 (01:08:34):
Pritzlaff tomorrow or the next day, so I'll be getting
some more information on that.

Speaker 5 (01:08:40):
So you look out for that little little drop for me. Nice.

Speaker 4 (01:08:45):
I just freezed over it because they're both head coaches
there named Donnie.

Speaker 2 (01:08:49):
Yeah, that's why I said. That's why I said Buffalo.

Speaker 6 (01:08:54):
Benson's got much better hair, of course, yeah, of course.

Speaker 1 (01:09:01):
All right, well, gentlemen, is always good chopping it up

Speaker 2 (01:09:31):
