Speaker 1 (00:00):
Doctor Render.
Speaker 2 (00:02):
How are you doing that, Doctor Cole, I'm doing well.
Thank you so much for having me. It is always
a blessing and a joy to be able to be
in tune with people that keep our music hot and
keep us in the know with what's going on. So
I really really appreciate U this time with you.
Speaker 1 (00:21):
I really thank you for taking time, by your very
busy schedule from the Great House to touring to being
the elected lady at the with the conject so coaching.
I really appreciate you for taking time by your business
schedule to come and talk little. It really means a lot.
Thank you so much.
Speaker 2 (00:39):
Absolutely, it's my pleasure.
Speaker 1 (00:41):
So let's talk about this new record, determined talk what what?
What inspired this new record?
Speaker 2 (00:47):
Well, of course, you know, I was really at a
hiatus for the last seven years, seven years and you
believe in seven years since I had a record out,
and I believe somebody had a hexono just getting that.
But it was just seven years and I was really
kind of at a place of God just redefining me
(01:09):
and preparing me for the next season of my life.
And sometimes God does that to us as people that
are artists, ministers, and what have us and we I
didn't realize that God was really doing what he was doing,
But in the midst of that, I felt like God
(01:32):
was just rekindling the fire that he had within me
because I did always want to stay, you know, in
my writing ability, and you know, made I guess I
want to save my singing career. You know, I always
wanted God to do something new and fresh. I didn't
want to come out with the same thing. So this record,
(01:56):
being in the camp for seven years, you know, it's
just a lot of things going on. It seems like
if I tried to get out, here comes something else,
and it was just always something. So I just told God,
I said, Lord, I said this time, I mean it.
I'm more determined than ever to go through in spite
of ours. I'm not gonna let the enemy put me
(02:17):
in that bag again and send me to the river.
We're not going to do that. And so God told me,
he says, well, if this is what you want, he said,
I'm gonna make it happen. And that's how we were
able to really kind of get this record, you know,
on its feet, and allowed you know, to bring good
music that people have been wanting from Miss Derinda, and
(02:40):
it has just been a blessing. I love the music,
I love what it's bringing and I just believe that
you know, with you all, and we don't like to
say fans, but our supporters, those that support us down
through the years and just been you know with me,
I just believe that it's it's gonna bless a lot
(03:01):
of people.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Wow. So each each track on this album has a
powerful message. Can you walk me through the meaning of
great and mighty?
Speaker 2 (03:09):
Great and mighty? Of course, when we think of where
God has us and all the things that we've experienced,
we know that every situation brings us into a testimony.
So great and mighty was even through the situation with
me with this record, I knew that God brought me
(03:30):
through this. Of course, He's always great and he's always
gonna be mighty, but he it never ceased to amaze
me what God is gonna do next? And so great
and mighty. Knowing that he is everything that we need
him to be and everything that he says he is,
we trust him to be that great and mighty.
Speaker 1 (03:52):
Wow. So you built the brand beyond music with the
with the cometic, with the cosmetics line and the clothing line,
What is about you to step into the beauty and
fashion industries?
Speaker 2 (04:02):
Well, the fashion industry was my first love. It was
something that I wanted to do. And then of course
we had a lot of people that were reaching out
to me when I had my solo project, the first
self self titled project of course, Derinda, and of course
that's where it all really kind of started. And then
(04:23):
people were reaching out to me saying, what do you
think about this, what do you think about the clothing line,
what do you think about shes? And so my first
my first thing of stepping out was basically Dna Vinci
Danovici was my first love, and I started there and
(04:43):
then I began to branch out into other clothiers and
now at Divine Appair, which I have my own line.
I had my own line when I started at Danovni,
but my line now is at Divine Apparel, which is
the Clark Cole oh It's collection. Yes, from that, I
(05:04):
was really excited because that brought me into the marketplace.
And so when you're in the marketplace, you know, people
constantly are looking at Oh, that's her, that's her, that's her,
that she does this, she wears this, and she not,
So it was so much easier to get me into
cosmetics because you know, of course we had a young
(05:25):
lady that really kind of really worked with me. We
partnered together to have the Duran, the Duran Beauty line,
and of course, you know, I love to make myself up,
as you said, as you've seen my plush all well,
because as a kid growing up, me and my sister
(05:48):
Kieren has always been like fashion fashion. You know, even
when we were starting out in our Clark sister's career,
we always anyways playing down and Barbie dolls back in
the day, you know, totally different from the day now,
the Barbie dolls talking now, but we did all of that,
(06:09):
be dressed up dolls, you know, it's always fashion. And
then my mom she was she was a fashionista too.
My mom would come out, she would be dressed, she
would be dressed to kill, and so we kind of
got it from her, and then from that going into
this marketplace of the Duran Beauty which is doing very
(06:30):
very well. Of course, I love to always make a
woman feel good about the beauty inside of her, So
that's what we came about with Durm Beauty.
Speaker 1 (06:40):
Yeah, I'm gonna just say this because you spoke about
the first a self titled project. Lately, I've been going
through some stuff health wise and you know, all over
the place, and it was just a point I'm sliming
over it. And one song two songs that were three
songs actually that I've I've grown to love that's on
my playlist every day, no matter what any who's around
me could tell you, I listened to these they get
(07:02):
tired to be talking about you and sisters. I listened
to I'm Still Here. And one that I recently found
that fell in love with all over again is you
Can't Hear of God? Oh Wowki, Yes, I just fell
in love with that one all over again. And I'm looking,
I'm expecting, I'm looking for a miracle. Ju and Clark
Sisters and those songs have been such just such a
(07:23):
staple in my life and especially I'm Still Here? What
what what inspired I'm Still Here?
Speaker 2 (07:31):
Well, of course I was going through something, a situation
that you know, everybody has a situation that they've gone
through that always brings about a song that's I'm talking
about my artists now, Yes, so that that song really
came from the depths of my heart and what I
(07:52):
was dealing with my my It was just a very
very depressing time in my life. And you know, we
get down to there are times when we really get depressed.
There are times when we get really down. You know,
you're sad and you're trying to figure out how to
go get through it. And God was right there for me.
(08:14):
But I was on my way to the river, getting
ready to commit suicide because I had dealt with a
situation that I just didn't never see myself coming out.
I mean, the only way I could see myself coming
out is that God had to have come through for me.
And so a lot of people have heard. I was
driving my car down to belt Out Bridge, which is
(08:36):
it's a bridge that crosses you over to a park,
and so I was driving down This is right after
I had dealt with the situation, and I was like, Lord,
I don't know if you can't help me, then I
just can't now be helped. And I was at that
point just ending my life. And then God told me,
said to render everything that I put inside of you,
(08:59):
all of your and bringing up in the church, your mom,
your dad, all of them that put all of that
into you. You can't let that go down to dream
and so then I begin to hear God's voice. And
when I heard his voice, that made me really kind
of stop in the position that I was in getting
(09:20):
ready to drive my car off the breeze. So that's
how that song came about. I'm Still Here. I love
that song, Thank God.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
I love that you don't understand seriously that song. I
listen to that song two three times a day off
the red Sious when I'm working. I'm still here. You
can't hear it God. I just love wait, no God,
it seems so impoper like, so uncomforable. I just I
love that song. You don't understand, but.
Speaker 2 (09:49):
You know you would probably love nobody did this but God? Then?
Speaker 1 (09:53):
Really?
Speaker 2 (09:55):
Yeah, always try to have songs that will encourage them
with pierce your heart and knowing that you can't do
this without God, but nobody. God is another song that
I think you are really like it.
Speaker 1 (10:09):
Wow, let us talk about your scatting on stage. I
love it, I love it. I love it. You can
take a song, hey, maybe forget the work like I
go on you Tube and now look at your live shows.
I hadn't caught the riffs that you're doing now. I
don't forgot the words of the song.
Speaker 2 (10:28):
I sticked myself right out, right out of not knowing
the words are they called?
Speaker 1 (10:35):
What's your favorite song to perform with the sisters?
Speaker 2 (10:38):
My favorite song? Oh? My goodness, of course, what is it?
My song? What is it? What is my song? My Redeemer? Yeah,
my Redeemer is one of my favorite. Another one is God,
God loves you? Who is so many Twinkies? She was
(11:04):
hitting me of a writer. She just knew how to
write songs where people are yes. Yeah. You hear a
lot of people saying, you know, I got out of
I went through college, but the only way I can
make it through is that through y'all songs. You know.
So it's a lot of songs. And I just thank
God for my sister Twinkie because she was very, very
(11:27):
inspired back in the day to really write the songs
and that makes us who we are today. Wow, stop for.
Speaker 1 (11:35):
That speaking of my Redeemer? Livid?
Speaker 2 (11:38):
Then that song she redid it? Yes, she did? She
did with yes.
Speaker 1 (11:48):
I thought, Wow, that was that was good. I saw
y'all during the pandemic. I think y'all did an avaue
released party and y'all performed with her.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Yes, I'm the truth.
Speaker 1 (11:59):
I'm the truth for all this, no beat, I'm a
true fan. If you passed my nose, nothing you pass.
Speaker 2 (12:10):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:11):
So let's talk about the Grace House Senior Daycare Center,
which is which is an important initiative which is led
by you and Nikki, your daughter Nikki to create this
space for seniors. So what led you to create this
space for seniors.
Speaker 2 (12:24):
Well, you know one thing, I do love seniors, you know,
because I'm gonna get old one day too. So but
my daughter really kind of she really kind of hitting
it off to me, said Mama, we need to do
this because I think that this would be good for you,
(12:44):
you know if if I retire, I do have a
place to go.
Speaker 1 (12:48):
Yes.
Speaker 2 (12:49):
And then too with my daughter Nikki, for her to
continue on this the legacy that we have. Gracehouse is
one of my new babies. It's only been in existence
for maybe a year now, and we may, yes last May,
(13:09):
and it's doing very well. We can only house maybe
twenty five and right now I'm really looking to get
into the agencies now where the agencies bring the singers
to me and it's basically for the caretakers to drop
their loved ones off. They have a whole day with me,
(13:32):
Me and Nikki. We actually, you know, we feed them,
we have meal preparations for them, we have activities. The
specialty is is the music therapy. Yes, because music therapy
somehow brings back what they used to do. So we'll
(13:52):
have a session with them where I'll just sit there
and sing with them, see if they know any church songs.
Of course, we usually just have church because most of
the people be coming in and so we usually have church.
But that that is really something that I think I'm
working on Gracehouse number two right now, and so it's
(14:14):
really something that we try to give a way out
for the caretakers so that they have a break. Nobody
knows about that until they have to care for their
loved ones, especially when they can't get out, when they
can't do for themselves, or you know, they just need
a break. Just bring them to the Gracehouse and we're
able to care for them for nine to five. So yeah,
(14:39):
Nikki is she's doing a wonderful job and really assisting there.
And they love her. They love her. They be like,
where's my baby, where's my baby? You know, so that's
it's doing very very well as well.
Speaker 1 (14:51):
Thanks for you take donations for the Gracehouse.
Speaker 2 (14:54):
Yes, we do, we take Thank you, thank you for asking. Yeah,
we do take donations. We've got a donor wall that
we're getting ready to put up where we've had quite
a few people that have donated when I opened this
past year, and the donor wall will basically tell what
they've given and they've really been recipients of this of
(15:17):
the Gracehouse and donated. So yeah, we do have that.
Speaker 1 (15:20):
Well, I want to do this then, since you've been
such a joy and such a amazing in my life,
I want to donate a thousand dollars of the Gracehouse.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
Oh my god, are you sick?
Speaker 1 (15:31):
I promise you. I will talk to you after this
show and I will do it a thousand.
Speaker 2 (15:37):
I would appreciate.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
That, man, because you're doing such an amazing work. I
would a thousand.
Speaker 2 (15:44):
I appreciate that because that really really helps us. And
I'm definitely gonna put you on that donor wall as
being a sponsor for the Gracehouse because right now, Jay
I am doing private pay where we're waiting on the
agency the triple that they said it sometimes gets tired
to get into it. But the Triple A and if
(16:05):
anybody knows how I can get in, my application is
already in. I'm just waiting for them to call, and
says alone with I'm in the waiting list. So I'm
really trying to get that where they will bring Medicare
and Medicaid will send them to us. Yes, and then
that way we can we can actually you know, keep
(16:28):
it moving like that and uh that Medicare and Medicaid
will pay for that.
Speaker 1 (16:34):
But yes, whatever, whatever, whatever i can do to help,
miss doctor Cole, I've got it yours. It's yours, yours,
yours for asking.
Speaker 2 (16:48):
I appreciate that, Jay, thank you so much. Yeah, sure
sure helps that.
Speaker 1 (16:54):
Yeah. So your Singers and Musicians Conference is finally returning
in twenty twenty five, I think, a long break since COVID.
What can we expect from this year's conference.
Speaker 2 (17:03):
We got some exciting things getting ready to happen for
the Singers and Musicians twenty five. We're gearing up for
twenty six for the actual convention. Were not convention, was
the conference and that's when we're gonna just pull out
all the stops. But right now in twenty five, we're
(17:26):
just gonna do rallies in different regions. Oh wow, Oh,
we'll be coming in there to let you know. Okay,
come on, let's see what talent y'all got here, you know,
and we'll we'll hold the talent there, we'll pull it together.
Maybe by the end of this year, we'll see what
we have and then they'll push it forward till twenty six. Wow,
(17:47):
we'll have winners of course.
Speaker 1 (17:48):
Yeah wow. So how does the industry change since the
last comforts it happened?
Speaker 2 (17:53):
Oh, it's changed tremendously. You know, record companies are not
doing like they used to do. They used to sing
a lot of the people there, so now everything is
like independent. So it kind of gets a little hard
for some of the artists because they don't have the
ways and the means to be able to to get
(18:13):
to certain places, you know when record companies usually do that.
But it really helps you to understand what the industry
is bringing because you're out there. You're trying to see
what's new, what's hot, what's not and try to get
out there in the gospel industry. So and then it
shows you what your commitment is of how bad do
(18:35):
you want people to see your talent. Yes, so that's
that's the main thing about that. But but I'm glad
to see that there's it's changing in quite a few
ways where now it's easier to get music, it's easier
to get in some of these markets and you just
(18:55):
have to work in mojo.
Speaker 1 (18:57):
Yeah. Wow. So you just come off you just came
off of two major national tours with Kurk Franklin Union Tour.
What did it feel like being back on the road.
Speaker 2 (19:06):
And well, I mean, you know, we never left the road.
Speaker 1 (19:13):
I know, I'm saying a major like a tour every night,
you know, you have to tour.
Speaker 2 (19:18):
Yeah, you're right, And that was a major tour because
we you know, we've done tours before, but this one
was actually a major tour where it was Kirk, we
were playing playing arenas and big houses this side and
I don't think that gospel music was really displayed on
(19:41):
that wise and a wow, yes, big arenas, you know.
So Kirk really made it happen and he really kind
of brought out a lot in the industry to show
show people that especially music lovers, gospel music lovers, give
that chance because it was some of everybody that was
(20:02):
coming out to those concerts just gospel people and it
was secular people that came, you know, so it really
opened up really great. It was a great avenue of evangelism, yes,
of letting people know that you can get this even
if you don't go in the four walls of the church,
(20:22):
you can outside the four walls of the church. Ministry
came to you. So that was the greatest thing that
I saw that the tours were doing.
Speaker 1 (20:33):
So it was everybody at the tour. It was like
everybody came together, everybody had a good time. I'm gonna
tell you this. You was seeing Birmingham. I was sending
this to a guy who was working the margarita at
the tour. So it was like it was so amazing,
and it was just like, and how do you how
do you feel about the people that always have something
(20:54):
to say about what Kirk does on stage? Like people
fail to realize like at the end of the day,
attainers and you're making us, you know, you want to
enjoy the show, and then you have these people who
always have something negative to say about Kirk, like Kirk.
Speaker 2 (21:12):
And you know, I say it all the time, and
I've stated that while we were on the tour. I said, listen, Kirk,
don't sing. He don't sing. The man is a genius
in writing god music, So just let him do what
(21:32):
he wants to do.
Speaker 1 (21:34):
He's a bonapie producer.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
That's the way he he gets his feeling. Everybody has
a way of getting their feeling and what they do
and you know, their gestures and things like that. It's
just his way of doing it. I mean, you don't
say what you want to do is just stand up there.
Speaker 1 (21:56):
Well, I love it and I think it's entertaining y'all.
Like I told you before the show, y'all put on
an amazing show.
Speaker 2 (22:04):
Thank god.
Speaker 1 (22:05):
The Clark sisters put on an amazing So y'all need
to be the headliners. I need to talk to Kirk. Yeah,
bring into a number three. I mean, and how did
it feel y'all went out both times? How did you
feel to go out both times?
Speaker 2 (22:18):
Yeah? What Kirk was saying. Because we was thinking, Loie's okay,
this tour is over. We kind of glad, and then
Kirk caught us back. He said, man, I'm getting so
many people telling me we got to get the Clarks
and got to get the Clarks and then he said,
we're gonna get the Clarks back. We're gonna get the
He said he got a lot of emails about the
clerks and they will. You know, if you're doing the
(22:41):
second tour, you gotta have them on there. So that's
what happened. That's what happened, and it's a blessing to
see you know that. You know, I think we were
the oldest ones on the tour. Wow, can you believe that?
Speaker 1 (22:54):
And y'all energy was like there energy, y'all the energy there.
And that leads into my next question. Y'all have been
around for fifty years, five decades. Yeah, and you sound
better than you being in eighty one. So it's like,
(23:14):
it's how how do you keep the how do you
keep it fresh and relevant? Because it's amazing.
Speaker 2 (23:22):
Yeah, well, I think I think it's really important and
you can't you can't have step. You gotta do what
you've been doing, but add spice to it. You gotta
let people know that you're relevant, you know, for the
times and relevant for the because we just now realize
that we are impacting a whole nother generation. We're talking
(23:45):
about grandchildren and great grandchildren. Yes, you know our peers
are basically our age, you know, but now we're The
Lord is blessing us to inspire their children, now their
grandchildren and great grands So it's a blessing to be
(24:05):
able to have that generational blessings that are being passed
down to all these generations through our music. So it's
a blessing and it makes us feel good to know
that we're still out here and we still getting calls. Yes,
some people sitting at home saying, can anybody call me?
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Somebody?
Speaker 2 (24:30):
Yes, you know, but it is a blessing. The Bible says,
your kift will make room. And I'm gonna tell you
what keeps us relevant is that we're connected and we
work with our church.
Speaker 1 (24:43):
Yes we work.
Speaker 2 (24:44):
Of course, we are members of the residing bishop church,
our brother in law, and so we're all members of
that church, and so we're working in the church. We're
not just sitting there. But that's how you keep your
gift relevant, is it? If you don't use it, you
will lose it. You can't just sit on your gift.
(25:05):
You got the work, But Lord, somebody sing a song says,
complete that work in you, Complete that work in you,
or you don't know that song Jay song. Yay, I
can't believe you don't know that song. It's not a
(25:29):
Clark System song, but it's a choir song.
Speaker 1 (25:34):
Okay, I'm gonna tell you this, y'all.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Y'all, Hey, I want y'all to type in the comments,
y'all in the comments, what that song? Complete this work?
Can't you heard it before? Julie is singing it?
Speaker 1 (25:54):
Who's singing it?
Speaker 2 (25:55):
May?
Speaker 1 (25:56):
It's what is that? What the alesker?
Speaker 2 (26:00):
Okay, y'all give him get Jake. I know, I know
everybody watching, I know most of y'all know what I'm
talking about. But it is on the A N M
Mask Choir.
Speaker 1 (26:16):
Florida A and M. You did the Family Mass Choir. Yeah, okay,
I remember that. I remember that.
Speaker 2 (26:22):
I remember that.
Speaker 1 (26:24):
I remember I remember I remember when you did the Family,
when you did the Fam. You think I don't remember
that song in particular. I remember it's on that record. Really, okay,
I did not know that. I mean, I'm gonna check
it out.
Speaker 2 (26:41):
Give him.
Speaker 1 (26:44):
Been one of your what has been one of your
favorite moments from the recent tours that you did?
Speaker 2 (26:50):
Favorite moments of might not know about? Oh god, there's
so many. Well, I think one of our favorites was
when we did get came to Detroit, and of course
it was sold out in Detroit. You know, Detroit got
mad love for us, and of course we have a
(27:12):
mad love for Detroit. They supported us when they won.
Many of them know us from bed the Cathedral, the
is My Living in Vain, the record that was performed there,
and I mean, you know they they know that. But
it was when we did the tour both times. The
(27:35):
first tour that we did with Kurt, they gave us
the city of the Spirit of Detroit War with the
keys to the to the city. So that was something
that was very memorable to us that we will never forget.
Then the second time we came, of course they was
(27:57):
everybody was just there, just mad love, mad love, mad love.
So it's a lot of things that we did on
the tour. We was in rehearsal one time and Fred
he had surprised us and gave us a gift of
our own director's chairs. Wow, which was really something that
(28:22):
was really really nice that we all wanted because we
you know, we get makeup done, we wanted our chairs
and so we got bad. Now. It was this is
a lot of things that Kurt did to make us.
You know, he always supported us in our birthdays. Remember
that last time he had me to sing I'm still here, Yes, yes, yes,
(28:46):
So that was really really he always remembered us in
some way, you know, and so we were really really
excited about that.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
Wow, you the Lady of Evangelism for the Church of
God in Christ. What the is? What does this role
mean to you? And how does it balance ministry with
music and business?
Speaker 2 (29:06):
Yeah, of the administrator of the Greater Manual and all
that stuff. That really kind of helped me in the
elect Lady's role as the evangelism as they call it
elect Lady, that was international. So that that role is
(29:30):
kind of priceless to me because it really lets me
know that see see evangelism, Jay is my first it
is my first love. Yes, because as everybody knows me,
I was the preacher of the group. And so I've
done that for so many years and many many times
that I run ran revivals when I was like nineteen
(29:53):
years old, twenty years old, all the way up until now,
just run and revived. That was my very very beginning
days and I would pass out tracks. Remember, I never
will forget it's a lady called mother. Her name was Mother,
Mother White, Mother, Mini White. She took me out on
the streets and I first knew what evangelism was is
(30:18):
letting somebody know about what you know. Yes, taking that
even now as the lady, And thank God for our
desiity Bishop for selecting and appointing me again in this
next quadrinium, and I'm able to move forward with great
ideas and new things and work with my president. Of
(30:40):
course Pastor Gary Spree well, and had the pleasure of
working with him. But it's just been an uphel and
things has been just just wonderful, seeing that evangelism is
not just inside the church, but it's outside the four
walls of the church. So that and then just singing
(31:01):
and having the official visit with the presiding Bishop out
there with the wildfires in lay, seeing that quite a
few of our people that was devastated by the wildfires
and lost their homes. It's quite a few churches that
they lost their the churches well, had to get renovated
(31:24):
and everything. But just to see that it's more than
just preaching, more than just singing, but evangelism is going
out in the highways and hiss and compelling people not
just to come, but to know that there is a
risen savior and he can give you life and you
have it more abundantly.
Speaker 1 (31:44):
Well, how's how has your approach to ministry evolved over
the years, especially in today's digital age.
Speaker 2 (31:51):
Yeah, you have the same message, but you have new methods.
That's even a part of evangelism is that you have
to know what's going on in the world to be
relevant for and how to go in and out and
to be able to minister. You gotta know about every everybody,
(32:15):
all walks of life. You gotta know about the the
what is a g the GBS, t qu all of them.
We gotta know about them. We gotta know live and
how you know. So it's it's it's like you have
to know all walks of life and being able to
(32:37):
minister that allows minister to eat ministry to evolve in
a way that you're reaching everybody and not just a
certain group. And so that's why that's so important. You've
got to love people. You gotta be a lover of people,
because if you're not a lover of people, you can't
do this ministry.
Speaker 1 (32:58):
Wow.
Speaker 2 (32:58):
And so men, history has evolved in a lot of ways.
Of course, we're seeing what's going on with the government now,
You're seeing where people are losing their jobs left and right,
and it's just like, how how do we send a
message to them to let them know that God can
(33:19):
make this all right? But we have to know who
He is. And so that's that's what the main thing is.
I have a I have a initiative that I have
for the evangelism department. It is called catch the Vision
of the Flame in our In our church, we have
a motto and that is the flame of evangelism will
(33:41):
never go out. So to catch the vision of the flame,
there are certain things that we have to do as
evangelists and as elect ladies that we need to do
on a continuous basis to be able to say that
you are the evangelist that God called you to be.
So we have initiatives and things that we do. We
(34:03):
give donate clothes at a certain time in the month.
We also give out water to those that's a part
of our you know, it's a part of our initiative.
We give out water because it's a tool of letting
people know and on the bottle of water you have
on their your church, your logo, all of that, how
(34:24):
you can get to the church and all of that
so little tips that we have that keeps you know,
ministry bobbing.
Speaker 1 (34:32):
Wow. How did it feel for y'all to have at
the time, our presidential candidate, vice president, couple of parents
at the Great Manual because you all were on tour.
How did how how? What was that experience?
Speaker 2 (34:44):
Had to be home?
Speaker 1 (34:50):
Right?
Speaker 2 (34:50):
Yes, yes we was in l A. But but the
thing is we had to be you know, have that
support with with bishop and let them know that we
were definitely supporting Kamala Harris and it was a blessing
to see. And the thing years is that when she
came she even knew the way our culture. She knew
(35:14):
our culture because she says, I know, if I church
got to Christ you know, and she came in there
she even had a skirt on, and I said, I'm
talking about but she I just thanked God for her
commitment and how she stuck it out in spite of
the challenges and you know, the rocks that were thrown
(35:38):
at her, she you know, and then even even when
she did not make it, she still you know, gave
love and showed and said I'm just you know, y'all still,
let's go in peace. Let's go, let's do this thing
in peace, love each other, you know. And that shows
(35:58):
what a good sport she was with that running for it.
And I believe that this is not over. I believe
God has something great in store for her for taking
that hit and even supporting the community that supported her.
Speaker 1 (36:17):
Yes, for young gospel artists and ministers looking to make
an impact, what's your best advice to stand true to
their calling?
Speaker 2 (36:25):
What's my advice is stand true? Stay in church. In church,
I think this Shoup preached a message yesterday is it's
necessary to stay in the church. It's vitally necessary to
stay in the church. Because what church does. It gives
(36:46):
you a glimpse of hope. It gives you inspiration that
in spite of the things and the challenges that you
have to deal with. Church is a reminder that God
is and God can. Church is a reminder that in
spite of what you have experienced, that I'm trusting God.
(37:11):
There's a faith a factor in this. I'm trusting God
and I'm believing God. Faith comes by hearing. You can't
hear away from church. You can hear away from church.
But some things but not all things. You know, faith
comes by hearing and hearing by the word of God.
And the more you hear the word of God, the
better your life becomes. More you know about the stories
(37:33):
that Christ did in the Bible, it gives you a
glimpse of hope that saying, Lord, I know if you've
done it for that woman with the issue of blood,
you can definitely do it. May not be the issue
of blood for me, but it may be something else
that I'm dealing with, diabetes, heart trouble, tumors, cysts, or
(37:57):
whatever it could be. You see a man, but you
have hope in trusting God and believe in God that
you're able. I've seen you do it for others, and
I know you can do it for I think the
wine is sing that song seeing you do it for
others that I know you're gonna do it for me,
you know. So that's the way I always look at it.
(38:20):
That God has a way of giving us strength when
we go to church. So staying at the church is
the only way that you're gonna survive. You're going to survive.
Speaker 1 (38:31):
Wow, I want to ask you. I want to ask
you to two favors favors. Okay, one, can I adopt you?
Can I adopt you as my auntie?
Speaker 2 (38:40):
Absolutely a whole lot of nephews, and I got a
whole lot of nieces.
Speaker 1 (38:46):
Now, secondly, this song, I can you sing a little
bit of I aspect the miracle?
Speaker 2 (38:53):
Oh my goodness, you really love us. I'm gonna tell
tweety about you.
Speaker 3 (38:59):
Well, I love get for a miracle, I expect be impossible.
I feel the intangible, see the invisible. Oh you know
that the sky, Scott is a limit to what I get.
Speaker 2 (39:22):
I'm singing, I'm singing the lead and the background is
still the limit to what I get.
Speaker 4 (39:33):
The sky sky is still limit to what Again, just
believe received y'all.
Speaker 2 (39:48):
You perform it today.
Speaker 4 (39:54):
Believe every receiving God, you'll perform it today.
Speaker 1 (40:00):
Oh man. And that's how you do it. That wasn't
no music. That wasn't no background tracks. She's a real singing.
That's that's like it too.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
Less years of experience.
Speaker 1 (40:13):
That's how you do it. That's how you do it.
That's how you're doing She's a real singing. They the
same for real. That's how you do it. That wasn't
no background music. There wasn't no tracks that was real,
that was real singing. That's man, thank you, speechless Wow that.
Speaker 2 (40:34):
I don't do that for a whole lot of my
nieces and nephew know.
Speaker 1 (40:41):
What's next for doctor Colon twenty twenty five?
Speaker 2 (40:44):
Oh, what's next for me? The sky Easter?
Speaker 3 (40:49):
Yeah, I'm excited about twenty five.
Speaker 2 (40:54):
The year of twenty five is going to I'm looking
to survive. I really to survive, and not just only
to survive, but I'm looking to survive and all of
my entities, my clothing line, the dream, beauty, gods, there's
so many things that I got a new thing I
(41:15):
can't really talk about right now that's coming down the
pike and I'm excited about it. But I am looking
for of course, the record is kind of soothing, and
then you know I did do the the album release
and the album release concert that is, but that is
(41:38):
going to be coming out on on YouTube real soon.
Speaker 1 (41:43):
This is the one where you when you're in Ki
did the battle. That's That's what I'm talking about.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
This one was the one we did in we did
in Maryland.
Speaker 1 (41:55):
Was that when you were in red and you was
saying you can't hear it. God, I was going back.
Speaker 2 (42:01):
Was that?
Speaker 1 (42:02):
No?
Speaker 2 (42:03):
That was that was new Birth.
Speaker 1 (42:07):
No, it's on YouTube and I to watch it.
Speaker 2 (42:10):
No, no, no, that was my That was my twentieth anniversary.
Speaker 1 (42:13):
Gotcha, gotcha? Okay? Cool? Cool, cool cool.
Speaker 2 (42:18):
The newest thing that I just did was the and
that was last year. I did the album release of
this whole album that you just talked about, Determined. Wow.
So we did mainly mostly all of the songs, just
a few that we didn't do, but but yeah, but
my favorite on that record, I got three of them, Okay,
(42:41):
and is God Never Failed, God Never Fail. And then
he'll make it alright with Marvin Waits, Oh my god, Yes,
of course I made it, made it that that song
is as a blessing. Yes to me, that's another one
of my I'm still hearing.
Speaker 1 (42:59):
Wow. I got to check that out. And I forgot
that about this. What was it like during the Clark
Sisters movie? It premiered during the pandemic. It was shot
in twenty twenty. What was that like you.
Speaker 2 (43:15):
Guys five years ago? Yes, yes, well, we are working
on something. We are something now and we really wanted
to get our brother to really have input and to
have him on on on the next thing that we
(43:37):
were going to put out, but unfortunately when he passed away,
so we was able to get a few things from him,
and because he knew the history of the Clark sisters. Yeah,
and I don't think nobody really had a chance to
have an interview with him, to talk to him about
his sisters, which we I thought that that's something we
(44:01):
should have had done, but unfortunately it's gone now. But
but yeah, we we that that situation was a blessing
to us and the world because in the pandemic, nobody
was going anywhere. God had to have been up in net.
Everybody was at home watching Man.
Speaker 1 (44:25):
And I still watch It's On. It's On to me now, Yeah,
watch it. I love that movie. Man. I would tell
you one of the funniest things. And I know this
is not funny. Well, y'all were walking out of the
funeralom and doctor, doctor, doctor, Man.
Speaker 2 (44:51):
We did it all the time, O carus. Don't you
think there was just a fussing But Lord of Mercy,
Uh yeah, it was just a lot of things happening
during the time, and it really most of the stuff
you've seen was really true because it is our story.
It is what we actually wrote. Yeah, so it's as.
Speaker 1 (45:15):
Wis one of the because I think it's Jackie. But
it looks like.
Speaker 2 (45:19):
It's got a little gast. You see the row start
coming together like this looking out.
Speaker 1 (45:30):
Look.
Speaker 2 (45:31):
She about to say something about but she is when
I tell you, my sister Karen is such such a
sweet person to know. And we're very very close, of course,
because we've been like that since we were kids. You
(45:52):
even sit together in the church, so you know, it
just goes to show you how close we are. But
we but she's she's such a sweetheart when I tell you,
she's a praying woman. She loves the Lord, she loves
her church, and she would do anything. And her and
Bishop is just like the perfect couple ministry. You know,
(46:16):
if anybody was to pattern their lives behind them, they would,
I would say, because I know them and very close
to them. If they're the perfect couple that God would
have to lead this church, the Church of God in Christ,
lead this organization. So I'm very proud of them and
proud of what God is going to do with Bishop
(46:38):
these next four years. Thank God he got back in.
To all of those that aboded, God bless each and
every one of you. I promise you you're going to
see that the best is yet to come because I
know the works of our presiding Bishop and what he's
done and what he can do well. So yes, that's
(47:00):
my sister and my brother.
Speaker 1 (47:02):
I think, well, I'm I'm covering y'all doing gospel festive.

think I'm covering.
