drums hit the Heartea sounded skipping through the shadow City's
heart beat, Jay's flop.

Speaker 2 (00:20):
Prints a trail on the concrete.

Speaker 3 (00:22):
Neon lights, flicker.

Speaker 1 (00:23):
Sparked up the beat, fay straps, heavy drums, under rich,
jail walking those lines, no boundaries, or the night went rider, ungrounded,
Rhythm of streets that goes unfounded based drums here.

Speaker 4 (00:38):
Oh my god, we are recording Holy Spirit at the thing.
I just can't believe this right here, I'm I'm sitting
here talking to I just can't believe this. I'm so excited.
I don't even know what to say, ladies and gentlemen.
Tamila man, I mean, let me just say this before
you even get started. Your songs from take Me to
the King, to God Provided, I can only imagine they

(01:00):
have gotten me through some of the toughest times in
my life.

Speaker 2 (01:03):
I'll never forget.

Speaker 4 (01:05):
But the King came out here as she's promoting her
new album, So tell us about the new album live.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Breathing, Fight.

Speaker 5 (01:13):
I am so excited about it. It's talking about Heaven
is oury. Were living like heaven is our destiny. We're
breathing every breath with purpose, We're fighting until we get
the victory. I'm just excited to just really just to
encourage God's people and all people to just live, to
just breathe and just trust God that things are gonna

(01:34):
work out, even though it may be you may have
a little rough patch right now, but things are gonna
get better and we're just gonna keep on fighting and believing.

Speaker 3 (01:40):
God for victory.

Speaker 5 (01:41):
So I'm just really just sent to just give an
encouraging word right now. My friend was like, Lord, give
me what to give to your people.

Speaker 3 (01:50):
And some of the songs is talking about carrying on,
talking about living.

Speaker 5 (01:54):
We're talking about we can do all things, even facing
the facts about yourself fact. So it's just it's so
many songs in the power of God. I'm just really
excited to be sharing new music. It's been like three years,
but I'm so happy about Live.

Speaker 3 (02:10):
Breathe, and Fight.

Speaker 5 (02:11):
It's been really a testimony of my life for this
last year and a half of just different things we've
been going through but that's what we're talking about, living,
breathing and fighting.

Speaker 2 (02:20):
Wow.

Speaker 4 (02:21):
So it's not a schedule that you have like every
every three years you release an album, because man, through
the pandemic, you release a song, a touch from you
and to this day, to this day.

Speaker 2 (02:30):
I love this.

Speaker 3 (02:33):
Well you know what it has.

Speaker 5 (02:35):
Well, it wasn't on purpose, but it just seems to happen.
It seemed to happen that way. And we being independent,
we just really trying to work an album, like David,
trying to get the best that we can out of it,
you know, to work each only get.

Speaker 3 (02:52):
Several songs out of it, but then.

Speaker 5 (02:58):
Three songs that we released so far even before the
album was released, because you know, music is they're doing
things different now, so you know, it's just learning with
the time.

Speaker 3 (03:07):
But it just kind of happened that with every three
years after three four years, but you.

Speaker 5 (03:12):
Just trying, We were just trying to work it and
and that's the blessing is the Lord just kept us busy,
let the albums work themselves.

Speaker 3 (03:19):
So it's really been good.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
So when is when is Us against the World Number
two coming out? Because you got my boy David and
us saying and I said, look at David, come on us.

Speaker 5 (03:29):
And Julia hopefully real soon, hopefully real soon because we've
you know, playing on next year, Lord blessed, we're gonna
do a relationship tour whork for relationships and talking about
marriage and just couples in itself, to just encourage families,
just encourage families to stay together.

Speaker 3 (03:48):
They can't. What'd you say?

Speaker 2 (03:49):
I could use the relationship to it.

Speaker 3 (03:50):
I'm just ah, we all can't.

Speaker 5 (03:54):
You know, we often use some encouragement you know here
there every now and then, we all use something.

Speaker 3 (03:59):
So that's that's our goal.

Speaker 5 (04:01):
After working uh the Live Breed and Fight tour, we're
looking at doing a relationship tour for us against the world.

Speaker 3 (04:08):
So we're looking at a two point oh something like that.

Speaker 4 (04:11):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (04:12):
Okay, cool, So yes, speaking speaking to us, So are
you going on to.

Speaker 4 (04:16):
It now this year?

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Later on this year, early next year?

Speaker 3 (04:18):
Going on to early next year?

Speaker 2 (04:20):
Okay, cool?

Speaker 3 (04:21):
Cool?

Speaker 5 (04:21):
Cool about to head into you know, the holidays, and
it's quite a lot of things going on, but we're
scheduling getting riding and everything together now for Live Breeding
Fight Tour.

Speaker 3 (04:32):
So I'm really excited. So look forward to we're be
getting together again. So we can talk about that.

Speaker 4 (04:37):
Yes, a y'all when y'all come, y'all make sure y'all
come to Birmingham. Y'all came to the to the bestment
Civic Center. About was it a year or two ago?
About two years were going to the best Civit Center.
The best show I've ever seen in my life. And
I'm not exaggerating, like you put on the best show.
You daved come up with this comedy and you y'all
put on the best show.

Speaker 2 (04:57):
So let me ask you this. Go ahead, say to again.

Speaker 3 (05:00):
I just said thank you because you know, even with
us being a.

Speaker 2 (05:03):
Small jay z A Gospel.

Speaker 5 (05:07):
With us being a small institue, we just really believe
in trying to give excellence. And you know you just
just come powerpack. We put it together. We take time
to put it together and also rehearse it so when
people see it, if you're getting a production, it's important
to us to having a production and not just us

(05:28):
feel like it's a Sunday night musical.

Speaker 3 (05:31):
Yeah, Okay, that's bad. Not that it's bad we're saying
when people pay their money.

Speaker 5 (05:37):
Yes, yeah, let me let me you know for somebody,
miss ain't what I mean because look, that's how we
started on Sunday.

Speaker 4 (05:46):
What are your thoughts on the state of gospel, of
the gospel music industry right now? Because you see all
these different people coming and doing their thing with the
gospel music industry.

Speaker 3 (05:57):
You know what it has changed.

Speaker 5 (05:59):
But I believe in my heart that gospel music is
still here and it's not going anywhere. In God's word,
just like the scripture says, it won't return void, and
I believe we still have a message to spread the
good news, the good news which is Jesus Christ. So
I just want to encourage us to just fight on
and to keep living the life, you know, be in
this world but not of the world.

Speaker 3 (06:20):
To just bring a.

Speaker 5 (06:22):
Presentation where we can win people, still win people to
the Kingdom of God. That's what it's all about for me,
is still winning souls for the Kingdom. So I feel
like it still exists, It's still needed.

Speaker 3 (06:35):
We still gonna have to have it. I mean, we
can't do this thing without Jesus, can't you say?

Speaker 1 (06:39):
God?

Speaker 5 (06:40):
And I really don't even to me, like my mom,
I used to hear the old people saying, why wouldn't
the person want to serve a God like this serving
Jesus is the best thing I ever done, the best
thing that happened to me.

Speaker 2 (06:53):
Whoop me this morning and put me in my house shoes.

Speaker 4 (06:57):
Okay, So what what advice would you give to someone
who's wants to get into the gosp music industry, because
now you see a lot of secular artists trying, like
what's the word migraining over into the gospel music music
aist like when we look at Kanye West and what

(07:18):
what what? What advice would you give to people?

Speaker 3 (07:20):
I would just say, we still just have to represent
our savior, Yes, represent Jesus. And I mean just not
say I'm doing ministry, but actually we want to live
the life he said. We're the Scripture said, we're the
light of the world. We want we need to be
the light. It sets up on the hill that shows
the difference.

Speaker 5 (07:39):
Because I just feel like that people even because the
majority of the R and B or that side, the
majority of us then grew up in church.

Speaker 3 (07:48):
All of us came from church. So I mean, so
it's in us because you know, if it's it's.

Speaker 5 (07:53):
Been imparted into you. The scripture says when you, oh,
you won't depart from it. So The thing is is
it's that moments is still in there. So I want
them to come and be able to give. But I
just still want us to be able to give the
whole light and not a confusing light of you know,
just because light darkness can't dwell together.

Speaker 3 (08:12):
We have to have a separation there.

Speaker 5 (08:14):
So not that any of us are perfect, because we're
not perfect in any way, but we just still want
to just show and represent Jesus.

Speaker 3 (08:21):
That's all I'm saying.

Speaker 5 (08:22):
I just want to represent him and represent my father
well and to make him proud. Yes, I fear that
they could could you know, you could come. And then
for up and coming young people, let's just live the life.
Let's just live the life so you can see that
there's a difference. My thing is that it just needs
to be a difference in the two. So it's like
it's nothing wrong with some music that make you, you know,

(08:43):
bob a little bit if Bob, you know, maybe even dance.
I mean, I don't feel like nothing's wrong with it.
I just feel like we just need to keep our
message and keep our message strong.

Speaker 4 (08:53):
Yes, So wh y'all two, A y'all two is a family.
So where did that damn come from because I see
you break out. You break out till you break it, David, Julia,
you break it our porscha. Where did the dynamic come from?
Because I love the dynamic.

Speaker 5 (09:09):
Well, we just actually we love our family. We love
our family, and we love to be together. But like
like now on this particular Tea is still with me,
but the other two are not working with us anymore.
But I feel like it's kind of like the rocket booster,
you know, it's like you together, but sometimes you push
people to that limit, then everybody go and they do

(09:31):
their own things and spread their wings.

Speaker 3 (09:34):
So I feel like the family dynamic is needed, it's
well worth it.

Speaker 5 (09:39):
I enjoyed it why we was going together, and while
we're doing things together, I love it. But sometimes I
understand if someone needs to go and do their own thing,
and I give them freedom and liberty to go do
what they need to do. And then just like me
and Daddy, we know what I call and what our
purpose is, so we're still standing and going in the
direction of the artists led us to go in and

(10:02):
and they're doing what they're doing. And even for other
families just coming up, it's like that that point the
time may come where they may want to branch out
and do solo, create another group. So it's okay long
as we just again. It's all about that message, carrying
the good news, the good news of Jesus.

Speaker 3 (10:20):
That's all. That's what it's all about. For me.

Speaker 4 (10:22):
I saw you at at the Porter's House a couple where.
I saw you on line the Port's House a couple
of weeks ago, and you made me join church again.

Speaker 2 (10:28):
I'm just put.

Speaker 4 (10:30):
You said, yes, I saw you your line. I said,
oh my god, what was that light? Because it's just
like the rum just shifted.

Speaker 5 (10:38):
It's everything just man, I don't know, Jay, I just
really when I go, man, I know before God, it's
like really well, when I prayed and I asked God
to just go before me, give me what to say
to the people. And you know, I'm just I'm just
a church girl. I really am, you know, raised pental

(10:59):
cause and it's just in me. And it's like what's
in me just comes out and I'm just And I
always call myself like a gospel rock singer because you know,
rock singers kind of they squall and they they up there,
they squall and.

Speaker 3 (11:16):
They loud too, So me. I'm just I know, I'm
I just, I'm just loud and I just you know,
I just I just feel like.

Speaker 5 (11:26):
If the Lord just used me, I'm gonna come in
with just a power punch you just like, Yes, especially
if I'm coming before the word.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
I want to set that thing up so well whoever
is about to preach.

Speaker 5 (11:38):
It makes the way easy to, you know, help destroy
yolks and break yolks before the word goes forth.

Speaker 3 (11:44):
To just get people.

Speaker 5 (11:45):
Hearts and mind ready to receive the Word of God,
because that's an important part of the music.

Speaker 3 (11:50):
Is great and good, it's a good setup, but we
gotta get that word in there.

Speaker 4 (11:55):
Yes, And let me ask you this. I know, I
know this might be a stretch. Who are your favorite
gospel artists right now?

Speaker 3 (12:05):
Who you know? But Todd Gabber, Todd Delaney, Tata Cobs.
I love to see her worship. I love her worship
of Nailmi Rain Wow. And you know it's just I love.

(12:26):
I just I'm I'm like the I'm like old school church.
I like everything.

Speaker 5 (12:32):
I want to be able to worship. I want to
be able to praise. I want to be able to
just holler. If I just want to holler glory. I
just I just want all the elements.

Speaker 3 (12:43):
So you know, I love, I love, I love all
my people.

Speaker 5 (12:47):
Though I'm we're great supporters in that you quealin cars
to me, she reminds me myself. She reminded myself, and
you know, just like to me following in the steps
of shirt the season. You know what I'm like, Just
give me longevity and still be able to come with
high energy even in our older age.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Have you know?

Speaker 5 (13:08):
I just I just didn't want to be able to
do this until the Lord called me home. I know
that that's kind of awful the question, but that's I'm
just I don't know.

Speaker 3 (13:19):
I'm just.

Speaker 2 (18:43):
What happened. I just disappeared all of a sudden. It's
life and you won't wear to day. I'm just playing, right, No,
that's right.

Speaker 4 (18:52):
So my next question was how a couple of years
ago you want a couple of years ago you want
a Grammy? And that was that was history breaking, that
was history making. How does it feel you know, because
you have so many accolades, you have so many different
awards and man, lifetime Achievement awards, how does it feel like?

Speaker 2 (19:08):
How does it?

Speaker 1 (19:09):
Man?

Speaker 5 (19:11):
It's a blessing and I'm honored to have the awards.
It's a great feeling, it really is. It feels really
special to win.

Speaker 3 (19:20):
It does, But I just I don't know. I think
I just haven't banked it all.

Speaker 1 (19:26):
In that.

Speaker 5 (19:26):
I mean, it's a blessing, but because I still feel
just like regular town, you know. So I don't because
I try not to get so caught up into all
you know, and even walking in the room and thinking
everybody know you, because that's not the case. You know
all the time that people are gonna know who you are.

(19:48):
So I just really try to keep myself in kind
of a humble place. And when it comes to that
kind of stuff, it's like, I'm really happy and I'm
really grateful for it, and I'm really thankful for the
support of the people, and you know, when it comes
to media and radio presence and things like that, I

(20:10):
just I'm just I feel really blessed and I'm really thankful.

Speaker 3 (20:14):
For all the love and support, and I just and
I just want to make everybody. Look I'm just want
to make everybody proud too, just like I want to
make the Lord proud.

Speaker 4 (20:23):
Yeah, you do a good job, you do a great job,
before we leave, before we leave, before we leave, can
I get you the scene just a snippetal take me
to the King?

Speaker 3 (20:32):
What I don't count of new music that's always been
out here for almost.

Speaker 1 (20:44):
Like what.

Speaker 3 (20:48):
I thank you for a Lord? But it's I thought
you just gonna say he's got his hand.

Speaker 2 (20:54):
Yes, yes, you know my new songs? So what speaking
of that?

Speaker 4 (20:59):
If I ask you this on my list, what are
your favorite what are some of your favorite tracks from.

Speaker 2 (21:04):
This new album?

Speaker 5 (21:05):
This new album, hand on Me is one of my
favorite also forever, it's one of my favorites. And then
you deserve to win because to me, those songs are
like encouragers. It's like when you feel like all us
fails and things are not happening.

Speaker 3 (21:24):
The hand of the Lord is on us. A lot
of times.

Speaker 5 (21:26):
It's like when you think things are gonna crash and burn,
and it's like he just opens up a window or
our door open. I mean the hand of the Lord
I believe in, it's on us and no man can
pluck you out. I just want people to be encouraged
with that, and then you deserve to win. It's like
I love that I got all the ups and downs.

(21:47):
In our lives and heartaches and hardships that we've dealt
with and dealing with, we deserve to win. It's like
a lot of times we feel like, oh man, I'm
not worthy, I'm not worthy of it. But when you
don't put your timing and you've served and you've done
what God has called you to do, you deserve those
things that he said you can get the desires of

(22:08):
your heart if you waste pleasing come.

Speaker 1 (22:10):
On, you know.

Speaker 5 (22:11):
So I just believe that to heart that you too
deserve to win. So it's protecting you. He's covering you.
He's covering you, he's with you, that he's working for you,
so not to quit, you know. It's just like carry
on is one of the songs on there, Lord, I

(22:31):
trust you. I mean, it's just it's so many of
them talking about the power of God, remembering that we
can stand because we are standing in Hi, you know,
and his headmanship, that He's in the head of our lives,
and that by his power, by his mighty spirit, said
the Lord, we can do anything, that all things are
working together for us. So I'm just all the songs

(22:53):
on there, y'all, I promise you, Yes, something on there
for you. Live, breathe and fight, Live like heaven is
your destiny. Breathe and breath with purpose, and fight until
you get the victory.

Speaker 3 (23:04):
Y'all.

Speaker 5 (23:05):
Live, breathe fight, Live, breathe fight, so you keep on fighting, Jay,
don't quit.

Speaker 4 (23:10):
Indeed, thank you again so much for coming on and
leave my people with one piece of advice, you know,
to something encouraging.

Speaker 6 (23:19):
To you know, I just again, I just want you
to be encouraged not to quit, not to quit on yourself,
not to give up to the things that are happening
in your life because a lot of disappointment, Like even
with doing this project, I cried a whole lot, had
a whole lot of disappointment that I couldn't even fanom
that I would be dealing with or the things that

(23:40):
I was facing with even going through that process, even
before starting to do the record.

Speaker 3 (23:46):
And I just want to encourage you to hold on. Quit,
don't quit, don't.

Speaker 5 (23:51):
Quit, don't quit, don't give into the things that are
happening around you.

Speaker 3 (23:56):
That victory is yours, so hold.

Speaker 6 (23:58):
On hanging there.

Speaker 5 (24:00):
And also you can go to Tamila Man dot com
guys and you can or if you want a hard copy, Yes,
copies for you. So I just I just really appreciate
everybody for all the love and support, and y'all just hey,
hang in there, don't give up on God.

Speaker 3 (24:15):
Does he not gonna give up on us?

Speaker 4 (24:17):
Yes, live breathing, fighting stores right now, right now, right now,
right now, ladies and gentlemen, the baddest, I mean, the
baddest to ever do it, the beyond save gospel.

Speaker 2 (24:29):
Ladies.

Speaker 3 (24:33):
Man, I'm
