Speaker 1 (00:00):
So New York City?

Speaker 2 (00:02):
How did I get here? Find out? I'm Creative on
the Men? Yo, it's a wild store.

Speaker 3 (00:15):
I'm here in New York City.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Boy, do I have a story to tell you.

Speaker 3 (00:20):
It's a great one. It's a really testimony at the.

Speaker 4 (00:23):
End of the day.

Speaker 3 (00:33):
Hey, what's going on? Holy cow? What a call?

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Wait a minute, I think I'm rude.

Speaker 3 (00:39):
Let me tell you who I am. If you don't
know who I am, Hi, I'm Jeff Adams.

Speaker 2 (00:42):
I've spent my life in the entertainment industry, but now
I'm starting over. I'm in my fifties, rebuilding my life,
my faith, my purpose, and figuring out what it means
to be a creative when everything feels like it's just
falling apart. This is Creative on the Men, a place
for real talk, real stories, and real people making creative comebacks.

(01:06):
If you're an artist, creative, entrepreneur, or someone just trying
to find your own way, you're not alone.

Speaker 3 (01:12):
Here.

Speaker 2 (01:13):
We talk about faith, failure, starting over, and what it
looks like to keep going when life doesn't go as planned.
So if you're ready, be a part of this journey
to heal and chase purpose again, Welcome the creative on
the ment. So yeah, in twenty twenty two, I came
back to Florida. I was living in Texas. I was
a showrunner for a loted with Crowder. Completely surrendered my

(01:35):
life to the Lord and didn't know what I was
going to do. I was going to go work at Newsmax,
but the Lord, head of the plans, got plugged into
the church and the Lord gave me a download to
create Revivalist Media, which is pretty much a media company
that is an acquisition company and builds other faith based
brands inside Revivalist Media. So currently we have Covenant Music Group,

(01:58):
the film Department, a merge company, and an OTT platform.
But we launched a music division back in the beginning
of the year.

Speaker 3 (02:07):
We tried a couple of artists, but we just had.

Speaker 2 (02:09):
An amazing golf. I've been talking to this artist for
a while. We're just back and forth, just build a relationship.
And he called and said, hey, I want to run
some by you. Will you manage me? And I said,
well yeah, And I knew when he didn't commit the
first time, I knew who he'd be back. The Lord
told me who he'd be back, So it's just confirmation.

(02:29):
So he called out of blue, and what are the
chances I'm headed to Orlando because everybody in Nashville is
down here for a radio convention, and I'm meeting with
a buddy of mine that work at Capitol Records who's
starting a brand new label, So now I have something
to talk to him about.

Speaker 3 (02:46):
It's crazy how the Lord works.

Speaker 2 (02:48):
Every year in Orlando, Florida, every Christian radio station that
plays music comes down to Orlando, Florida, and everybody in
the Christian music industry comes down to Atlanta, Florida, and
they have a big radio convention where artists play and
and radio stations network. They give some awards out for
the best stations. Artists come down and play new music.
It's a really cool thing. And I came over to

(03:11):
see Josh Bailey, who's starting a brand new label company,
and I got him on camera, but I didn't think
he really wanted to be on camera.

Speaker 3 (03:20):
He says, I don't do well with this stuff, but
I thought he did a good job. Hey, recacting with.

Speaker 2 (03:23):
The old music industry, buddy, Josh Bailey.

Speaker 3 (03:26):
What's up?

Speaker 4 (03:27):
How are we doing?

Speaker 3 (03:28):
What are you doing now?

Speaker 2 (03:29):
Gosh started a new label and publishing company and We're
in the middle of launching it this year, and so
it's been a been a while.

Speaker 4 (03:36):
And crazy journey that God has is on.

Speaker 3 (03:37):
But I'm very excited about it and grateful to be
doing this. And You've been.

Speaker 4 (03:41):
Able to work with artists and creators that care about
Kingdom music.

Speaker 2 (03:45):
So soil we're up to Boom workship leader Ryan Howard.

Speaker 3 (03:51):
Just email me.

Speaker 2 (03:53):
I'll stop it. It's mockering. He's mockering me because you
know I still use emailing. He's like, no one uses
emailing more and I'm like, yeah, everybody uses email, and
then he would and then the guy was texted said yeah, bro,
just just don't even worry about email. He's just text me.

Speaker 4 (04:10):
Bro.

Speaker 2 (04:11):
I still like email, man, and I can stay organized
if someone would come up with.

Speaker 3 (04:15):
A an app that would.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
Take emails, texts and put it all one app, all
communication lines, dms on Instagram, the whole nine. So anyways,
I say all that because coming to Music Group is
in full launch. Me and Ryan Horton are gonna go
in this agreement together. I'm gonna do management for Ryan's
artist career, and he's already trying. He goes call somebody else,

(04:41):
call somebody else.

Speaker 3 (04:43):
He goes, that guy's dead. Now you can't be calling
on my calls.

Speaker 1 (04:46):
And both those guys are retired from the music. He said, Bro, we're.

Speaker 4 (04:52):
Gonna kill it.

Speaker 2 (04:52):
We're gonna do this thing.

Speaker 1 (04:54):
When we're calling the two guys that's been out of
the game for twenty years.

Speaker 2 (04:58):
See what they got to say, really help you? You
know this.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
This guy, this guy's been at it.

Speaker 2 (05:07):
Bro, doesn't even look like the same guy, says Ryan Horn,
dropping his debut album Blurred two thousand and nine after
three years of tour and performing and sharing stages with
Kirk Franklin, the Aftors Group on Crue the Truth, La
Craig kJ.

Speaker 3 (05:26):
You're talking about old guy.

Speaker 2 (05:28):
So I got doves with group on Crue the Truth
and Lacrae and Kj's my boy. So you want to
call those people? They still do your email? Yeah, call
their managers too.

Speaker 3 (05:46):
So we headed to FOCOM twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (05:48):
It's a AV convention covering the latest and greatest of
the new technology comes out, from video switches, to video cameras,
to microphones, audio boards, anything AV related. They got it
there and for years I used to cover with NAB
these type of events. So we thought it was a
good idea to maybe just go down there, meet some

(06:10):
old friends, and maybe get back into the business of
doing these events.

Speaker 4 (06:16):
Yo.

Speaker 3 (06:17):
Infocom twenty twenty five.

Speaker 2 (06:19):
It's crazy, yo, right, Infocom twenty twenty five.

Speaker 3 (06:22):
And I'm with my good friend Jeremy. So we're here
at Infocom.

Speaker 2 (06:26):
I had to take a break and literally get on
a phone call with Antigua because we're going down Antigua
in September with Ryan Horton. So we were talking to
the people that gotta bring us in. Really cool stuff, man,
A lot of media stuff, a lot of TV coverage.
Now I gotta find Mike Laxon and Gustavo Gus where

(06:46):
they might be.

Speaker 3 (06:47):
I don't know, we'll find out.

Speaker 2 (06:49):
So when I was on the phone, Mike holding it down,
did a bunch of interviews representing getting us dip at it.
So that's how he rolls, Bro's he's a media master.
I was at the coffee bar, you were holding it down.
We do need to find coffee at some point though, Yeah,
in some pastries. But yeah, isn't this place like? I
love how many these places because hey, this is my world, bro,

(07:12):
I love this stuff because what we do in media.
This is the backbone and audio video that's the backbone
of what we do. Man. That's why I feel blessed
to be here. Thanks Jeremy Man for hooking us up
to free passes. We appreciate it. Hopefully we get this
interview with you man. So Black Magic Booth, they get paid.

Speaker 4 (07:37):
To sit here.

Speaker 2 (07:38):
It's an amazing job. And they gotta act like the
reading the book. And then the boyfriend comes back and goes, hey.

Speaker 3 (07:47):
What's for dinner?

Speaker 2 (07:52):
Now he's actually working on a motorcycle. It's not dinner
time yet.

Speaker 3 (08:05):
Hey look at that. That's an awesome shut.

Speaker 2 (08:09):
Wow. So it's been a minute since I've I've never
been to this new section of the Orlando Airport.

Speaker 3 (08:26):
It's beautiful.

Speaker 2 (08:28):
Flying Jeff Blue this morning to New York. First time
here this side of the Orlando Airport. It's like five
o'clock in the morning. Hardly anybody's here, which is good.

Speaker 3 (08:50):
No lines.

Speaker 2 (08:52):
So I'm wearing cargo pants and I got patted down.
The guy says, hey, don't wear cargo pants at the airport.

Speaker 3 (08:59):
Which I thought was a little bizarre.

Speaker 2 (09:03):
Cargo pants, Come on. The airport's really nice. Those lights
pretty cool. Starting to get busy here. I think I'm
gonna go get some Chick fil A. That's what I'm
gonna do.

Speaker 3 (09:20):
It's gonna be a long day. Some'm gonna get some
chick fil A.

Speaker 2 (09:25):
So we got a spicy chicken sandwich Chick fil A.
I'm actually an hour early, which I guess better see
if thanm sorry, but I'm really tired. I think I
got like two hours of sleep, so hopefully I can
catch them sleep on the plane.

Speaker 3 (09:47):
This is pretty cool.

Speaker 1 (09:57):
It's wild.

Speaker 2 (10:17):
Well, so much for sleeping. This flight's a little rough man,
but it's good to be traveling again. Such a good feeling,
you know, I guess at heart, you know, being in
music industry for so long and being away from it.
I call myself a road dog because as much as

(10:39):
people complain.

Speaker 3 (10:40):
About traveling, I actually just love it.

Speaker 2 (10:42):
I'm a road dog. I love being on the road.
I love it adventure, I love every part of it.
So we landed in Laguadia, and obviously there's no sleep.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
It's going to be a really long.

Speaker 2 (10:53):
Day today, but looking forward to it. Glad to be
back in New York. It's been a minute New York.
So we're preparing to go down on the subway. This
is our first run in the afternoon. Then when to
come back at night. Brian hires a crew of people
to get all the sound equipment.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
This is how they do it.

Speaker 2 (11:13):
And so right now we're loading lights down to the subways.

Speaker 3 (11:19):
Walking down the.

Speaker 2 (11:20):
Stairs of the subway, you descend into a scent thighline.
First stop, hot urine, next wet dog, final destination, despair.
In New York City, everyone's always on the move. But
down in the subway, something different happened. The presence of

(11:40):
God showed up. People stopped right there on the platform
and began to worship. It was so powerful. I fell
completely in my element. Something awakened in me, a deep
love for people. I was so overwhelmed. We saw tears,
got to pray with strangers and watch God move a
way that only he can. This was just our first

(12:02):
stop that afternoon, and we knew we had to come back.

Speaker 3 (12:06):
This is where Google's at.

Speaker 2 (12:11):
Just came back in the subway, came over here, got
a glizzy hot dog.

Speaker 1 (12:26):
Chapter.

Speaker 2 (13:05):
So we came back for our second round of worship.
Then we got bumped by this salsa band. They said
we were on their turf. So we had to find
a new place to set up to do worship that evening.
This was just a different experience. It was sweet. The
presence of God was there in the subway, not like

(13:27):
he was in the afternoon. One man in his family
committed their life to Christ. It was a powerful thing
to see. God is just an amazing God. If you
say yes to him, it's amazing what he could do
in your life and where he can take you.

Speaker 3 (13:45):
In the city.

Speaker 2 (13:48):
Of blindy life, New York, It's a place that buzzes
with energy. Every corner Hums was stories movement color. For me,
It's more than a.

Speaker 3 (14:03):
City, it's fuel.

Speaker 2 (14:05):
There's something about walking these streets again, the people, the noise,
the chaos. It stirs something deep inside me as a creative.
Being away from it too long, it makes you forget,
but coming back you remember exactly why you fell in
love with this place. Today my first stop Times Square.
Ryan's capturing content for his YouTube channel, and I'm just

(14:26):
soaking in the madness and the magic.

Speaker 3 (14:29):
Crazy out here. Man great.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
In that moment, something stirred in my spirit. I looked
up at these towering buildings and thought, why isn't there
a faith based media company.

Speaker 3 (14:36):
Here and right there and Times Square.

Speaker 2 (14:38):
I declared, one day there will be a media company
in one of these buildings, representing Jesus.

Speaker 3 (14:43):
Our last stop before heading home. Brooklyn, Queens and Man
Brooklyn just cool. Crossing over that bridge, walking their streets again.

Speaker 1 (14:52):
It hit me.

Speaker 3 (14:53):
I forgot how much I love this place.

Speaker 2 (14:55):
Back in the late eighties early nineties, I was obsessed
with hip hop and Brooklyn was a heartbeat of it all.
It still holds a special place in my heart.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
Right here in Brooklyn.

Speaker 2 (15:07):
Ryan down there shooting content. I got cars sick, really bad.

Speaker 1 (15:17):
Appear insanity, Let it go, Let it go.

Speaker 2 (15:35):
So Ryan' shooting content back here. We're trying not get
in trouble. We don't have any permits to be doing this.
Shooting all the way back here. We call a gorilla
style on it. Back in the day, you don't have permits.
But Brooklyn is really strict. But he's shooting all back
here and hopefully we get just pulled off without.

Speaker 3 (15:53):
Getting into trouble. New York City, it's a beautiful place.

Speaker 4 (16:00):
In the visit.

Speaker 3 (16:01):
I'd like to be in and out, but this time
around it's different.

Speaker 2 (16:05):
I'm really embracing the uh this time around, just kind
of taking it all in. I've been here so many times,
but you know, it's been.

Speaker 3 (16:13):
Several years since i've been here, and man, just a
sweet sweet people, believe it or not.

Speaker 2 (16:21):
About the people. Man, when you love the Lord, you
can just see people, especially in the subway heavy yesterday,
I see people in the subway.

Speaker 3 (16:29):
Just the fact that.

Speaker 2 (16:32):
Now when Guy gets a hold of you, your view
of people becomes different. And that's what I love about
New York City, the people, because I believe there's gonna
be a big move of God here in New York
City and I've happened to be a part of it. Yeah,
so this time around, it's definitely different. Yeah, it's beautiful
out here this time of year, summertime. It's actually being

(16:55):
on the water. The water comes in, cools you down
a little bit. But yeah, I never thought in a
million years God restores what is stolen. Always remember that,
because one day you can be sitting there wondering, just
working along. They stay, You're on a play ahead in
New York City within a twenty four hour period. Pretty amazing,

(17:16):
pretty amazing story, loving it, loving every moment of this,
cherishing its good.

Speaker 3 (17:30):
Well back in MCO. That should do it. A long
seventy two hours, but well worth it. Man, I love
being productive.
