Speaker 1 (00:00):
You ever felt like God gave you a mission and
then just disappeared like he spoke once and now radio silence.
You're showing up just trying to be obedient, but Heaven's
quiet today. I want to talk to you the person
who's building something God told you to build, but you're
not getting any instructions. Because here's a truth. Silence doesn't
(00:20):
mean absence, and some of the greatest breakthroughs happened after
God stops talking. Hey, let's go there today on the
Jeff Adams Show. Hey, guys, welcome back to The Jeff
(00:40):
Adams Show. Today's episode. You can feel the tension in
the air that a lot of us feel at times.
Most of us feel it sometimes, but we're afraid to
take off that Christian mask of being Oh I'm not
super spiritual anymore. Oh I have issues. Look, today, are
getting raw and real. Let's get real honest today. I
(01:02):
think there's times in our life where we have to
be completely transparent or we're not going to have the
ability for the Lord to show up in our lives
and show how magnificent he actually is. I don't understand
in Christian culture why we have to continue to get
really super religious like, everything's figured out. We have everything
figured out. When I got radically changed, like in twenty
(01:26):
twenty two, I realized all my Christianity from the past
was out the door. And what I mean by that
is basically it was a different thing. I felt like
I absolutely knew nothing at that point. But that's the
amazing thing about following Christ. It's not about us. It's
not about our abilities, it's not about our gifts, it's
(01:47):
not about our strengths. It's about being transparent and letting
the lords show up and work in your life for
him to get all the glory, not yourself. So I
wanted to talk about this topic today because I felt
like my testimony for twenty twenty two, it hasn't been
an easy road. I hit rock bottom. I faced a
(02:10):
lot of it, just bad choices running from pain, and
it didn't make a whole lot of sense. Life didn't.
But when I surrendered everything in twenty twenty two, again,
it hasn't been a bit of roses. You know. Let's
start with Noah, right. God told him to build an arc.
That was it. He didn't get it any update. Every
(02:33):
week God telling Noah saying hey Noah, Amen, Amen, He
gave him just direct orders. And the crazy thing about
it is no pep talks, no angel high fives, just build.
And it took years. And during those years people mocked him.
(02:54):
The skies were clear and no rain, but he kept
hammering why because he believed the last word God gave
And that's something I've been struggling in my life. I
might life may not make sense right now, but I
know what God told me to do. I know what
God told me to build, and so that's what I'm doing.
(03:17):
And sometimes I feel like did I hear from God
to do this? Because I'm not hearing something every single
day and I feel like modern day Christianity, especially on YouTube,
you can go through all these thumbnails and they said
God told me to tell you this. God showed me
this to tell you this, And I'm like, really, even
if he did tell you that, does he want you
(03:39):
to share something every single day that God told you?
And I think sometimes we just put this religious mindset on,
like if we're not hearing from God, especially on the
mission that he's given you, something's internally wrong, and then
you start feeling condemnation or you start feeling bad. Yeah, Oh,
(04:05):
He's like am I missing something knowing the reality is
for me in my life, I have to reset because
I have to get away from religious thinking because following
Christ and listening to the Holy Ghost, it's not religious.
It's not the set of rules. It's go here, to
do this, and go do that and go that. We
(04:26):
can get so wrapped up in these things where they
become a routine, and I found in my walk that
when things become a routine, that's a little scary. It's
a scary place. It's a scary place to it's a
scary place to live a routine lifestyle because routine you
(04:47):
get comfortable. And I feel like in life following Christ, especially,
it's not a comfortable life. Yes, God wants you to prosper,
He's called to prosper, But the reality is, what what
if he doesn't. What if there's a season where you
(05:07):
just have to go through something because He wants to
show you something, to get to the other side, to
show you how great he is. I think that's where
a lot of people are in life right now, and
a lot of people don't even want to talk about it.
They're scared to They're plugged into a church and they're
saying oh, I got everything together. I got the perfect family,
or I've got I've got the perfect job, And deep
(05:29):
down there's some internal issues going on that you're unsure about.
You're like, am I okay? But I'm here to tell
you today you are okay. Through the blood of Jesus,
you are okay. That's washed away. But sometimes we have residue.
We have this body, we have this thing called this
earth suit that can somewhat hold us back if we
(05:53):
don't crucify it daily, like literally commanding his body to
get back to where it belongs, back to the grave.
We are a new creation through Christ. So that's what
a lot of people battle with this YouTube world. And
I'm speaking to YouTube directly because this is always being
(06:14):
posted to YouTube page. God told me to say this,
and God told me to do this, and God told
me it's For a while, I was like, man, I'm
not even hearing from God. How are these people and
why are they sharing it like every ten seconds? Isn't that?
I also look at it as like, and I'm not
judging by anyway. This is just me looking from the outside,
(06:35):
looking at this is how my brain's wired. So I
look at things and I'm like even just in a relationships,
like you're in a relationship with a whif there's intimate
moments where I don't think it's okay to share that,
And I feel like some people just get on the
microphone and blabber some things that God doesn't even want
you to share because that's between you and him. It's
not for everybody. And when God gives you a word,
(06:59):
it's not for everybody. It's not I'm sorry, not unless
you're a shepherd and the all the ghost told you
this is for your flock. But I just think this
whole thing, and if it doesn't line up with this scripture,
with the Bible, you might need to check it. We're
just in this world of instant gratification, instant gratification, and
(07:24):
when things don't go our way spiritually, we get frustrated,
we get agitated. It's like, ohh man, this is hard. Yeah.
Did you realize that Jesus disciples, except for John, they
all were all killed. Think about that. Following Christ is
(07:48):
not an easy road. It's not a bed of roses.
And that's something you have to remember when following this.
What God told you to build something, and you're not
hearing anything all I can tell you is just go
do he said, go into all the world and preach
the gospel, lay hands on the sick, do the work
(08:10):
that He's given you to do, and you'll push through.
God will show up. God will start talking to you.
He will. That's something I've had to challenge myself over
the last couple of weeks because I just been in
this place where I got caught up, like I think
He told me, and I got to tell you man, transparency.
It's been probably the hardest time in my life ever
(08:32):
because there's no cushion, there's nothing. I mean, it's it's like,
you know, fight or flight at this point and just
complete surrendered. What else can I possibly do? Every turn
I look left or right, I try to figure out
myself and it just it leads to nothing. So I
have to stay on the mission that God's given me
(08:54):
or it's just going to lead to dead ends. That's
why it's important. Even when you don't hear his voice
that day, that week, that month, there might be a
time where you don't hear anything because there's something that
inside of you that you need to repent of. You
need to get out of your life because sin separates
us from God. But the blood of Jesus washes all
(09:16):
out away. And sometimes with this urthsuit, the arth suit
gets in the way of that, and you have to
literally the mind is still physical. It's like the devil's
playground part of this urthsuit. So we have to renew
our minds. We have to think, we have to meditate,
we have to read the scriptures and meditate on scriptures.
(09:37):
We have to get in line with God. Even when
he's not saying anything, we still communicate, and I guarantee
you God will show up. That's what I'm believing for you, guys.
I'm believing if I'm believing for myself. It's a reason
I'm being transparent. I'm not talking about Donald Trump this time,
or talking about some news article. I just wanted to
(09:57):
get on here and just share some thing from the
heart to show that, hey, you're not alone in this journey.
You know what I mean, You're just not And let's
go back to this too. You know, I'm reading off
notes here because I took a lot of notes. But
you know, how about Jesus himself before his public ministry,
he goes into the wilderness right for forty days fasting,
(10:19):
isolated alone. Think about that. God the Father doesn't speak
during that time. Instead, Satan shows up. Oh wait a minute,
does that sound familiar? And these times were in silence.
Guess who shows up the accuser Satan? Satan like Dana Carvey,
I go, who would it be? Satan? I don't know
(10:44):
why I said that. I love it myself. The silence
wasn't abandonment. It wasn't It was preparation. Jesus didn't need
a new word. He used the word and he already
had it is written. Listen, let me read that one
(11:04):
more time. Listen to this. The silence wasn't abandonment, it
was preparation. Jesus didn't need a new word. He used
a word already, he had it. It is written so
many times in the time of silence. When you feel
like it is just quote the scriptures, it says it
(11:25):
is written. Man. That just I just got bomed up
on that. That was like there was like I wrote
these notes down. I'm just like, well they just hit me.
That kind of hit hard. That was good. Let me
just say this right now. If God gave you a mission,
a calling, a word, and now you feel like he's
gone quiet. It might not be punishment. It might be
(11:47):
proof you're right where you belong, right now, in this moment,
in this second, He has you. He has you. Sometimes
God's silence is a test, sometimes it's just a setup,
but it's never a signed to quit. You're not alone,
and today some of the greatest breakthroughs happened after silence.
(12:08):
Faith isn't just about hearing, it's about trusting when you don't.
So today I want to leave you with a question,
what was the last thing God told you to do?
And are you still doing it? Because when you keep
showing up in the silence, you're showing up that He
(12:28):
can trust you. With the sound boom, Hey listen, that's
it for today. Thanks for hanging out on the Jeff
Adams Show. I know this is just all over the place.
It was kind of loose, but I just wanted to
speak from the heart today. I took some notes down
and I just wanted to share this wonderful news. You're
(12:51):
not alone. And it is written. Remember in times of silence,
when you're doubting yourself, you're doubting like did I hear
from God? Just go back to the scripture, for it
is written when Satan tries to accuse you. You can
say it is written, use scriptures to defeat this world
that we live in, and God will have your back
(13:15):
every single time, even when you don't feel it. That's
sometimes he's even closer in those times. I'll watch something
the other night, Billy Graham said that who's powerful. He
says even in the times when you feel like he's
so far away, that's when he is close, closer than
any brother, any person on the face of the earth.
He has you, God, bless you. We'll see you next time.
