Speaker 1 (00:03):
Hey, this's just Tony soprano and you're listening to Jersey
Boys Podcast with your host Dave Still and the Urns Boys.
I mean, I can give a shit, but the cowboys
went New Jersey. These guys got bulls being cowboys fangs
in Jersey. Anyways, enjoy whatever.

Speaker 2 (00:30):
And trying to tell everybody we're gonna sleep walk to
nine wins. Nobody wanted to listen, but anyway, this is
another episode of the Jersey Boys Podcast. Dave stur show
alongside Nationally you know, comedian Brett Ernston, of course the Grinch,
mister America's fan himself, John Wick Keith Ernst in the building.
Uh yeah, listen, Hey, I was in the building for
that one. And let me tell you something. Cowboys look

(00:51):
pretty goddamn good offensively, and you know you understand, dude.
I went with my dad, my bonus mom, my brother,
my stepsister. We were all there and we all got
the witness and she turned out. So my father had
a suite with my bonus mom and stepsister. Me and
my brother were down in the right over the tunnel

(01:13):
and the visitors tunnel, and when Jerry Jones popped out,
they saw it. It was right above him, and it
like he saw him and and she's like, oh, look
he's giving thumbs up, and like next thing, you know,
he flips off a fan. Do you see this?

Speaker 3 (01:27):
Yeah, he got fine two hundred hundred and.

Speaker 2 (01:29):
Fifty thousand dollars middle finger. I was like, holy shit,
it's ridiculous. And but here's the worst part. On one
O five three to fan his normal Tuesday spot, he's like, well,
I tried to do thumbs up and it just came
out wrong.

Speaker 4 (01:43):
And that guy can't admit anything.

Speaker 2 (01:48):
He really can't. But anyway, yes, the Cowboys are coming
off of a very very big.

Speaker 4 (01:54):
Win one off since I since I was gone last week.

Speaker 2 (01:58):
Gonuts.

Speaker 4 (01:59):
All right, First off, yes we know it was the Jets.

Speaker 2 (02:03):
Okay, so I don't give a ship. You guys are
the first ones to say NFL team professional.

Speaker 4 (02:08):
I don't give a shit either. I was so happy
to see us play consistent ball on both sides again, offense,
click defense. Finally, I mean, it does help the fields
holds onto the ball for three seconds. But I did
a lot of research on on this one, so I'm

(02:28):
just gonna say it was a great win.

Speaker 3 (02:30):
Wait wait, wait, wait, let's hear the let's hear the
I'm gonna hear the research.

Speaker 4 (02:34):
No, there's a lot here, all right. Did number one
with what Olsen said about this offense, but we'll start
with the offensive side of the ball. And I couldn't
put my finger on it. And I don't know if
you if you were listening to the commentary, but he
said it best about the offense this year, and then

(02:54):
he explained it that it looks are our passing and
our and our run game is has morphed into one.
It's that that they've and I got what he was saying.
He explained it where like they're hiding the run in
the past, in in the formation, where like last year
they seem separate. It's like, Okay, we know we're going

(03:16):
to run.

Speaker 2 (03:17):
You know, we know we're in this Cowboys offense this year.

Speaker 4 (03:21):
Yeah, and he said it, uh, and it was the
best way to articulate it because I saw it, but
I didn't know how to how to how to say it.
But he said that what's great about the offense this
year is that they've they've they've it's kind of one
now where last year it looks separate. And uh, you

(03:42):
see that a lot which is which has been helping
Dak in the past game a lot as well. But
uh yeah, if you want to start with the research.
I mean, Keith, you that was such a great I
think you shared that or was it Starch, Yeah, I
shared it. That's such a great statistic, man, that's crazy.

Speaker 2 (04:02):
I don't think I've ever seen a Cowboys team. You
know what's funny the mo for the Cowboys a lot
over the last couple of years. And Keith and Brett,
you guys can attest to this. How bad were we
or typically are at closing out first halves, you know,
like doing like doing good things before the half and
like maybe getting a stop or maybe getting something next thing.

(04:24):
You know, bro, we put up fourteen points in like
a heartbeat, like legitimately a heartbeat. And it all started
with Maurice and his stripsack, I mean, on his punch
out of Breese Hall. You get the ball back and
then you're like, you think yourself, all right, what they're
gonna do here is they're just gonna run the ball once,
see how long they can get, and then see how
they can plan out the rest of the offense. And

(04:46):
then Javonte Williams just takes the fuck off and I'm like,
all right, go ahead. And he did not pull. He
did not pull a Jesse Holly, by the way. He
said he didn't run out of gas. He just he
knew that getting out of bounds was important because it
stopped the clock. He just he didn't know if he
was going to score, so that's why he jetted out.

Speaker 3 (05:03):
So what Brett's talking about, by the way, is the
Cowboys have Javonte Williams run for one hundred and eight
yards in the first half and Ryan Florida a mass
one hundred and four yards before halftime as well. According
to Cowboys pr going back to nineteen seventy eight, there
has never been a game in which the Cowboys have
had a hundred yard rusher and one hundred yard receiver

(05:25):
in the same half of a game. Never Emmett Smith
and Michael Irvin, never Zeke Elliott and Des Bryant, and
never Tony Dorsat and Drew Pearson, Javante Williams and Ryan florinae.

Speaker 4 (05:36):
Look what I would have said. What I would have
said on the last podcast, even though it looks dismal
going into the Jets game because of all of our injuries.
This is when you start to see who who we
have that's young. And you know, I love FLORINOI I
have from day one, and that kid really showed up
and I wouldn't mind if they put him in over Tolbert.

Speaker 2 (05:59):
To be honest with you, I think, uh, I think
going forward, it seems to be pretty apparent that one
ceedee Lamb is back, it'll be Lamb, it'll be Pickens,
and then it'll be a mix of Turpen slash Florinoid,
and then you can splash in your Tollberts and your
Brooks of the world. But like right now, it's it's
only this way because of the fact that sauce Gardener
was you know, one on one with George Pickens, which

(06:20):
apparently that worked out in our favor as well at
some point, which is, by the way, the second longest
air yard touchdown throw of Dak Prescott's career was that
throw to to George Pickens in the end zone, which,
by the way, uh, sauce Gardener could have been called
for fucking defensive pass interference and holding three different times
and we still cook them. So that was just it

(06:42):
was a great explosion.

Speaker 4 (06:45):
So here's the first of the research. First one with Pickens,
he is tied for the amount of touchdowns in a season.
Then that he that's this is the most he's had
in Pittsburgh was five touchdowns the whole season. It does
help that he has a finally a good quarterback.

Speaker 2 (07:04):
Ooh, you almost said it, got.

Speaker 4 (07:10):
Ya, Dak. This is the best football I've seen Dak play.
Not statistically obviously, I mean, even though that's good, I
got those stats. But his efficiency, his his his ball
distribution has been consistent in the in the first five games,
like that, this is the best I've seen him play.
Granted it's the fifth game and uh, you know, we

(07:33):
have what eighteen more, but uh, that's that's interesting. And
he did it missing the last two games. Five offensive
linemen and CD lamp.

Speaker 2 (07:43):
That's honestly the craziest part of this offensive production game.
When you will you've met life Stadium and you put
up thirty seven points, you got to think to yourself,
it must be hitting on all cylinders. Everybody's there, everybody's healthy.
No CD Lamb, no offense line, we had no like
one starter one and like this.

Speaker 4 (08:04):
Is all a good this is all a good sign
for the future. Not for this season.

Speaker 2 (08:08):
Well no, it's also a testament to their depth and
what they've developed in the back. And what you're seeing
here is, you know Jack Sanborn who's been running in
mud last couple of weeks. He gets a concussion, he
goes out, Shamar James comes in, steps up. Shamar James
had fifteen tackles. Fifteen and not Jalen Smith type tackles
where they're all down the field. I'm talking. This dude
was a ball hawk. And now you're starting to realize

(08:30):
who you have on defense. And a guy like Maurice
who finally got some burn. Yes he made a bonehead,
played you know a couple weeks back. But you know
that dude is a ball or a ball hawk. He
is everywhere that ball is. And then you have to
look at somebody like Shamar James, who is you know,
his intangibles spoke for themselves coming out of college. But
late round draft pick, I guess, maybe a little undersized,

(08:52):
but it's worked. There are advantage man, he's flying around.
He's flying around. It's crazy.

Speaker 4 (08:57):
Another stat Ferguson Lee is second in the NFL and receptions.

Speaker 2 (09:02):
He's never He's also there's the first tight end in
NFL history to have forty catches in the first five
games of an NFL season ever, and.

Speaker 4 (09:10):
He's number one in tight ends.

Speaker 2 (09:12):
Yes, is interesting, and you know, I call it, you
know again, I'm not. I'm sure there's multiple people out
there that said Ferguson was gonna have a big year.
But I knew, like I just knew that last year
was not an indication of what that dude can bring
because Jake Ferguson can ball and you can not only
see that with with decent catches and he almost missed
and he almost had one right over the middle with Dak.
Dak just overthrew him by a little bit. But if

(09:34):
you run that play again, Dak said it. He's like,
you run that play again, we ain't missing, you know
what I mean. There was just a little bit off,
you know. I it's weird. There was a lot of
garbage touchdowns towards the back end of that game. And
you know, me and my brother being who we are,
as soon as as soon as the Jets scored and
they got to two point, I'm like a fuck, like, like,

(09:55):
oh God, here we go. Like I don't know why.

Speaker 4 (09:57):
You see though, do you see though when defenses aren't
prevent there, I didn't like we took our foot off
the gas pedal a little.

Speaker 2 (10:06):
Yeah, but uh.

Speaker 4 (10:09):
That's a lot of the yards that me and my
brother talked about when people are like, oh, dak through
for four. Yeah, okay, but it's at the end of
the game when they're in prevent you're gonna let let
that go, you know.

Speaker 2 (10:21):
Yeah, I mean and again, no turnovers. He was not sacked.
It's just a lot like how do you not get
I think they gave up three pressures only the Cowboys
and it's like, who are these guys? That was? That
was great? And again is it a quote get right
game against an oh and five all and fourth the
time Jets team. I think the Jets got plenty of talent. Man,

(10:43):
they got a lot of ballers on that field. Garrett
Wilson's a stud Breeze Hall when he's not putting the
ball in the carpet, is one of the better running
backs in the league justin fields. Yeah, I think he
held on to the ball a little bit too long
because you're you're getting home with four sometimes five. We
sacked the dude like six or seven times, you know,
So it was just an all out, great, well balanced game. Keith,
It's time for you to shine some light here me

(11:05):
and the Brett show.

Speaker 3 (11:06):
Here, go ahead, go ahead, you know where right now,
or at least I know, I just you know, you know, we're.

Speaker 4 (11:14):
Not talking super Bowl, We're not talking going to the play.
We're just saying that this is very well for yourself.

Speaker 2 (11:21):
This is.

Speaker 4 (11:23):
The first time I've seen both sides of the ball play.
I mean, our offense was never we did.

Speaker 3 (11:28):
But see here's my whole thing. Okay, and you and
I watched the I watched the condensed.

Speaker 2 (11:32):
Version, and I might have to watch that.

Speaker 3 (11:34):
The line of what we're not accounting for we're just
praising our players right now, which is fine, is just
how poorly the Jets are coached and how that could
have been a different game if it was coached by
somebody else. Those two fourth and ones that they had,
they could have easily just ran. I don't know what
the fuck they were thinking. Turn the downs over justin fields.

(11:57):
There are two passes any other quarterback, the freaking receiver
thank god, it was all by himself, wide receiver just
right over the guy's head. So there are still you know,
I'm not gonna sit there and say it was. I
wouldn't even say it was the offense. Yes, offense played.
Once again, we're praising the offense, but we've been praising

(12:21):
them pretty much every week except maybe the Chicago week.
You know, they've been playing up the par But I
still have the same issue. I seriously believe, and it
isn't like this with every other team that if Dak
Prescott has a bad game, that we're in trouble right.

Speaker 2 (12:38):
Well, isn't that any team though, No, it's not. I
just said that when they're starting, when they're starting quarterback
is having a very off day.

Speaker 3 (12:46):
I'm talking about a Dak Prescott off day. The things
we've seen in the past, the three and outs, the
stupid passes, the fumbles, not moving the ball. That's that's
the thing, and it's you know, who knows, who knows?
I don't know when that's gonna happen or if it's
gonna happen. But like I said, the defense, they they
look at them and they were still the thirty second

(13:08):
ranked defense. We still gave up over four hundred yards.
I mean, there's still a lot going in the in
in in in the wrong direction. Somewhat. I will say
that we had a that what's his name, Kenny Clark
would have had an interception if it wasn't for that that.
Remember when I hit I don't know if you noticed

(13:28):
her hit the ball, hit the camera on a tipball
I did.

Speaker 2 (13:32):
They've called that. I just called that dead right.

Speaker 3 (13:34):
Yeah, of course, but Kenny Clark was going to get
that and it hit the hit the ball the stupid
camera in the sky of course, ship like that.

Speaker 4 (13:41):
But anyway, the offense, look, we've been praising. The offense
has done great. I mean we're number one in yards
per game, number fourth in the NFL points per game,
second with the in rushing success rate. Uh you know
we we our offenses is rolling. And what my brothers
saying is one hundred accurate. If Dak has a bad game,

(14:03):
we don't have a defense because usually you know, look,
when you're looking at a team. That's why I never
really messed with the over and unders sometimes because when
when when a good team is playing, sometimes the offense
doesn't show up that but the defense can cover the slack.
We don't have a defense to cover the slack. And
that's basically what he's saying, and we're all agreeing in that.
I mean, I was going to go if we're going

(14:24):
to get on the defensive side. Yeah, they played well,
but they didn't. You know, we're still giving up well.

Speaker 2 (14:30):
Much to your much to your you know, when you
when you start talking about Dak Prescott inflating numbers in
garbage time, that's what the Jets did. There's a lot
of offense, but they said.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
But what I'm trying to say, Starch is there were
miscues on their end big time that made our defense
look better. That's what I'm trying to say through the
whole game.

Speaker 2 (14:49):
Yeah, No, I get that they didn't play well.

Speaker 4 (14:51):
They did.

Speaker 3 (14:52):
I mean they stopped that fumble was great by Luisfo.
I meant there was a lot of good we got
to the quarterback when Fields was flustered. I mean it, Yeah,
there were some good things to make it like it
was a dominant defensive performance, like, wow, they played as
well as the offense. No, they didn't. I don't think
they did.

Speaker 2 (15:11):
Right, And I agree with you there. I agree with
you there.

Speaker 4 (15:14):
On the one thing that I liked is we saw
some new faces in there that were balling that you know,
Samborn was out which I think he should stay out.

Speaker 2 (15:23):
Yeah, when he returns out and assuming he's going to
get demoted to special teams. If I had a team,
I mean.

Speaker 4 (15:28):
You know, look you can use them. Pressure wise, we
had a lot of pressure on the quarterback. Again that
that has to do with fields holding onto the ball so.

Speaker 2 (15:38):
Found and in turn with that, you know, the corners
were able to lock down their guys for the most part,
you know, where we didn't. There was a couple of
balls that you know sailed and like like.

Speaker 3 (15:48):
When you were there, When you were there, what did
you see, Like did you see anything like where you're
like sometimes when you're at the game, unless you're going
to watch the All twenty two, I haven't watched it yet,
you could see like the whole field perspective was there
were there are times you're like, holy shit, that guy's open,
and then yeah.

Speaker 2 (16:03):
Well there was a lot I can tell you right now.
I was able to telegraph a lot of Cowboys passes,
Like when Dak dropped back to pass, I was like,
Ferg's right there, He's gonna go to Ferg or Floraoi's
right there, he's gonna go to Floraoise. I was seeing
that from my vantage point. When the Jets were on offense,
you know, I was more focused on how many times
they can flush him out of the pocket, and was

(16:25):
that going to be a problem, I thought? And I
don't know this for a fact. You could probably watch
the all twenty two and really study if you really
want to. I'm not sure if there was a spy
on him at all times, because when he got flushed,
he sat in the pocket and that's not typical of
justin fields to do. He usually gets out and uses
his legs a little bit. But he must have saw
that somebody's hawking him the entire time, right, because he

(16:47):
couldn't make anything happen on offense when it mattered, right,
Like again, at one point it was twenty three to three,
you know what I mean, The Cowboys were in cruise
control for a long time. And yeah, of course, you know,
down the stretch we still put up some points. Now
we're giving up some points. I have to say. The
one line that we dropped me and my brother dropped
is uh, you see, he's not a machine, he's a man.

(17:09):
We're talking about Brandon Auivery missing the extra point from
from fifty yards out by the way because of a
stupid taunting penalty or whatever it was.

Speaker 3 (17:17):
You know what's crazy. Even when he missed it, it
look good. It's like hit the field goal pots.

Speaker 2 (17:21):
Like when went out went off, I was like, all right,
let's get that one out the way. That's fine. No
more misses. Throughout the course.

Speaker 4 (17:28):
I notice what he kicks, though he doesn't go like
all the way through.

Speaker 2 (17:31):
It's like it's like a poop kick.

Speaker 3 (17:33):
Yeah, it's like a pad because.

Speaker 2 (17:36):
He's just he lines up, he looks, what's this? You
know what The worst part is though, and this is
the worst part of being a Cowboys fan right now,
or at least in my sake, when they get to when
they get to the fifty, I'm already starting to do
the math, like, all right, well it's a sixty seven
from here.

Speaker 3 (17:53):
Absolutely before half doing that, That's what I was doing.
Before the half touchdowns. I was just like, yeah, we
getting Aubrey.

Speaker 2 (18:02):
Right exactly, we're getting range. And it's Aubrey range. It's
all different.

Speaker 4 (18:08):
He's a touch push.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Push, Like you know, I'm the touch bush by the way,
I'm the Eagles.

Speaker 4 (18:15):
No, but I'm saying he's our he's our cheek code.

Speaker 2 (18:17):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (18:17):
I'm getting back to pressures though, because I want to
bring this up. So Dante Fowler had eight, uh as
Araku had six, clown He had five, Houston had five,
Kenny Clark had three, Solomon Thomas had three, and guess
who underperformed and only had one was Mazzie.

Speaker 2 (18:38):
Oh well, I get it. As a d tackle, that's
not your primary job that. Yeah, you want to get
push up front, sure, but you want to stop the run.
We didn't do that much either. He is bro and that,
and you know what, It's hard because normally he has
like another guy to give him a blow here and there,
like Brayleon Allen, but he's out. They had a rookie

(19:00):
back there and for him to get out there, that's
one thing I think the Cowboys are missing right now.
And I know Jaden Blue had a couple runs to
the outside. They didn't really get anything going right, But
like I think if the Cowboys and this could be film, MafA,
I don't know what that dude's gonna look like when
he's back, but like if they get a number two
running back, that can really spell Javante, I think, and

(19:20):
you can like prevent Gavante from any wear and tear
throughout the course of the year, because right now he's
getting the ball a lot. If they can get a
number two running back, which that could be anybody from
I've heard rumors of getting Tony Pollard back, I've heard
rumors of Alvin Kamara, so like that would be explosive
to me. If the Cowboys can land a number two

(19:42):
running back. If you thought this offense was humming right now,
and this is without Seede lambing there, like, they could
definitely score some points and I'm not worried about them
matching up with anybody going forward with their offense. The defense, yeah,
of course, it's still going to be kind of like, Okay,
what are we going to do here? How many like
Trayvon Diggs had asked. Dravon Diggs asked to go to

(20:03):
man and they basically said, no, you know what I mean,
we're gonna think what we don't.

Speaker 4 (20:06):
What's good now is we have some players that we
actually got a look at in a game. And this
is another reason why it's important to play in preseason,
you know, even our starters. But the defense seemed to
have been communicating better game Like you said, Jets are
a bad coach team. But they've got a lot of talent.

(20:29):
And I think they they said in the game because
I was watching it on the plane so I could hear.
They led the league in three and outs, yeah.

Speaker 2 (20:38):
Which which you know, we had a we had a.

Speaker 4 (20:42):
Couple, especially when we got the ball at the at
the half, which you know, but their offensive line, I mean,
they've been playing together forever, like those guys have been
playing together forever, and we did. We got a lot
of pressure. I think I was. They had the next
Gen stats which said fifty percent. We had fifty pressure rate.

Speaker 2 (21:05):
That's half your plays, that's half plays. Half your plays
is obstructed by the pass rush. And that's kind of
crazy considering that's what we lost in Michael Parsons when
you traded him away.

Speaker 4 (21:15):
And their pressure their pressure time was two point three seconds.

Speaker 2 (21:20):
Which is get the ball. So there wasn't just like
you're saying with these next Gen stats, there is a
couple of stats that are alarming, like Kenneth Murray is
a little slower that that we would anticipate and want,
but again help us on the way. Man like Overshawn
apparently might be ready for the game after the bye,
which would be the Raider game that I'll be at

(21:41):
we'll be at could be his first game of the year,
or the next week in Philly so or against Philly
at home. So wit listen, don't rush this guy back.
Obviously we're two two and one. You got a couple
more games before the bye. Got Carolina this week. We'll
get into them in a minute. You know. After that,
I believe it's Washington at home, and then I believe

(22:02):
it's Denver after that. We got Listen, it's not an
easy schedule. There's no easy games. You can't look past
any team in the NFL, none of us, none of
us were looking past the Jets. So that just goes
to show you that, like we're we know, we were
going in as the favorite, you know, a point and
a half or whatever the hell it was, but nobody
really thought that that was gonna happen. Nobody thought the
Cowboys would cover the over by themselves almost you know

(22:25):
what I mean, Like none of that was expected because
the Jets are a comparable team. They just like you said,
and I'll double down on all that. Poor coaching. Listen,
he's a rookie head coach. He's gonna go through his
trials and tribulations. I get that. But yeah, I mean
the Jets are Jets are in line right now to
be the the number one pick next year. I don't know,
maybe they take a quarterback and they start over. But regardless,

(22:48):
you'd think they might be sellers at the deadline. Guys
like Breessee Hall might be on the move. You don't
even know, like so it's interesting to see. But a
well balanced Cowboys win gets him at two two and one.
The rest of the NFC East does a few favors
for us. The Giants somehow lost.

Speaker 4 (23:04):
But don't don't. I know, it's ridiculous to say the Eagles,
I mean for four and one team, but they're having
a lot of problems.

Speaker 2 (23:13):
Over they are. They are, and I think they're a
lot more flawed than people are saying.

Speaker 4 (23:17):
Yeah, I mean, and they they pulled out a couple
of games that they should have lost. Uh they won,
they did, they did lose, but yeah, they got a
lot of locker room problems over there, which you know, again,
we got to look at this tie. I know it
sounds obvious is either gonna hurt us or help us,
But we got to treat it as a loss.

Speaker 2 (23:38):
Yeah, because I think I think at the end of
the year, you're going to be one win away, one
win away, not one less loss away towards the back end,
So you definitely got to treat it as a loss.
I mean, again, in the record books it's not, which
is great. But like I said, I think it was
a well balanced, good performance out of the Cowboys. You
build off what you just had in green Bay. That

(24:00):
Green Bay game we played well as well, you know
what I mean, all the way to the freaking end,
and statistically the stats it's in the pudding. Usually a
team after an overtime win or an overtime game, nine
times out of ten lose the following week, you know
what I mean, because they're battered up, and the Cowboys
playing an extra half of football all cumulative, Like throughout
the course of the first four games, they played an

(24:21):
extra half of football. So that's going to get somewhere
and tear in your team.

Speaker 3 (24:26):
It's it's funny that you know with this game too.
I know you guys were like you were getting nervous
when they scored and all that, because yeah, and I
get it, but this is probably the only game where
at halftime since a long time. I don't know, maybe
when we beat down Washington a couple of more years
or I felt it was in our hands, like I
just knew everything. I just I just felt that as
soon as it was we had those two touchdowns well

(24:49):
back right back to back.

Speaker 2 (24:51):
I just I just you know, I went out a
tongue in cheek. I was doing the oh no, but
like this would have been like just think about that
if you were up twenty three to three and a
half and you lost that game.

Speaker 3 (25:01):
Yeah, but I can't even imagine because the coaching and
all that was on full display. The bad play was
on full display, right a team like that just it's
not like, you know, they were just like dropping a
ball or something like that, you know what I mean.
Or there were some really bad, noticeable things the Jets
had in the first half, which is the reason why

(25:22):
we were able to score two touchdowns right away, mm hmm.
And the half that that has to do with them too.
They could have just ran the clock out with twenty
seconds left, go in, you know what I mean, ten
to ten three or seven whatever it was.

Speaker 2 (25:34):
And once again, once again you have to you have
to tip your cap to shot An Eimer you have
to like he coached a very very well bounced I'm.

Speaker 3 (25:43):
Talking about that. I'm talking about the I'll talk about
the Jets.

Speaker 2 (25:46):
No, I know, but I'm saying, like, just think about it,
like in my mind, and I know this isn't accurate,
but like, just imagine those those those things are happening
and unraveling in front of us at halftime. I feel
like we would have fumbled, not fumbled physically, but fumbled
the clock because of a different coaching staff, Like you
didn't call time outright, let's run off the clock like

(26:06):
we had Ale. We got down the field seconds.

Speaker 3 (26:10):
So it's ten to three, ten three, there's four minutes,
five minutes left, they're about the they're on the they're
on our ten yard line, and Louis fall gets that punch,
which was a football play, by the way, it wasn't a.

Speaker 2 (26:20):
Lucky special right there.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
Bro. Yeah, the coaching staff said, he does, he practices that.

Speaker 3 (26:28):
So so he so then so we get the ball.
We have that long drive. So now it's seventeen to three.
The Jets get the ball back. As a coach, you
had a good half so far. Without that fumble, it
could have been ten ten. You just fucking pack it up.
There was not much time left at all. Your offense
is already hurting. They're hurting themselves right now.

Speaker 2 (26:48):
They did pack give it right.

Speaker 3 (26:50):
Back to us because they're thinking, oh, everyone's scored on
this defense, We're going to score on this defense. And
look what happened. Now you're down what twenty four to twenty?
Sorry because he missed the field goal twenty three?

Speaker 2 (27:02):
Yeah, twenty three to three a half time.

Speaker 3 (27:04):
That's a different game going into the second It totally is,
and we were getting the ball back.

Speaker 2 (27:09):
But anyways, yeah, no, I mean, we guess we're there.
That could have been a thirty to three game before
you know it, and you know it wasn't. But listen,
the Cowboys did their job and now they're two two
and one.

Speaker 4 (27:21):
We also have to just give Dack his props.

Speaker 2 (27:23):
Man.

Speaker 4 (27:24):
The efficiency has been great. So in the first five
games he has a seventy one percent completion rate, he
has three interceptions, which I think two of those were tips.

Speaker 2 (27:35):
Right, one one at least is a tip, I know.

Speaker 4 (27:38):
Yeah, and then he's got ten touchdowns and over thirteen
hundred yards. But in the last two games without CD,
he's got a seventy one percent completion rate, which they
said if which he ain't gonna finish the season at
seventy one percent, there's no way, No, and five hundred
and fifty six yards and thirty rushing yards.

Speaker 2 (27:59):
I was just going to say, don't forget about the
fact that he's been calling his own number when things
aren't there. And that's something that we didn't see in
recent memory. Right, we knew Dak had had these legs
back in Mississippi State in his rookie year, and when
he's younger, he's able to run around and Benny tears
his fucking hamstering off the bone, and people are like, well,
the running's over. Now. I'm showing you that the rehab

(28:20):
that he did was enough for him to at least
know that if there's something not there, old Dak would
have probably tried to fit it in a tight window
and got deflected and picked and whatever else. This time,
he's taking a ball, calling his own number and making
smart plays. All of these throws that Prescott is throwing
in the first five games of this season have been
high percentage throws. Right, He's not trying to force the

(28:42):
ball into any really really stupid tight windows. These guys
are getting open. You gotta credit the receivers as well,
the speed that they have on the outsides. Floor Noy's emergence,
George Pickens, as you said, Keith coming into this trade
when it happened, he was one of your favorite receivers
in the NFL, and all of a sudden, he's really like,
we are thanking Pittsburgh to high hell right now for
this tree.

Speaker 4 (29:02):
And and that Javante.

Speaker 2 (29:03):
I mean, look, everybody, he was three million dollars. Bro.

Speaker 4 (29:07):
Everybody was questioning it because you know, he didn't really
show much in Denver. But I didn't see this coming Jack.

Speaker 2 (29:15):
I mean, I went back and looked for my own receipts.
In March he had receipts, And in March I went
back and I.

Speaker 3 (29:21):
Said I was the one that was because I thought
it was another. Uh, what's the guy that we got?
Remember the other one?

Speaker 2 (29:26):
Well, that's what I'm saying that it was like three million.

Speaker 3 (29:29):
Dollar backs we'd always sign. They went Royce Freeman.

Speaker 2 (29:31):
Royce Royce, the five nine Freeman, the guy.

Speaker 3 (29:34):
Up from the Ronald Jones.

Speaker 2 (29:36):
Rojo Jones Ja.

Speaker 3 (29:38):
That's what it kind of reminded me of That's what
I was like, he got another one of these.

Speaker 2 (29:41):
Yeah, and he's like he's he's he's weathered the storm.
He's he's cutting, he's he's putting his head first. The
guy's looking for he going man and knock on wood
that he stays healthy this whole year. Because what made
me happy.

Speaker 4 (29:55):
Is I haven't said it yet. Is the crescendo? No,
it's uh, you know, we we came back after playing
an awesome game against Green Bay which we should have won,
and continued playing well. I mean again, this Carolina game
is gonna say a lot. We need this win.

Speaker 2 (30:16):
I mean, you know, go ahead, go ahead say it,
because it's it's true. What is this? This is this
is an absolute sixth game of the year must win.

Speaker 3 (30:25):
No, yeah, yes it is.

Speaker 2 (30:28):
Yes, it is absolutely.

Speaker 4 (30:29):
Every win is a must win.

Speaker 2 (30:30):
I mean when you're in a division, if you're in
a division like we are, if we're in a division
like we are, every NFC game has to be had, it.

Speaker 4 (30:38):
Has to matter, especially if we're gonna try must win.

Speaker 2 (30:41):
Is it?

Speaker 3 (30:41):
Once again? We do this every year. The must win
is if you lose, you're fucking out. I know if
they lose.

Speaker 2 (30:47):
Correct, But that it doesn't look good if the game,
this is a game.

Speaker 4 (30:50):
We need to win. It's an NFC game, and it's
I don't want to say an easier game. But again,
we have a rougher we have more tougher teams coming up.
If we could get this win before to.

Speaker 2 (31:02):
Buy, right, we have to buy no no no. After
this is then Washington back Washington the bye No no,
then we have I believe that it's coming up. The
bye is right before Vegas, so we're coming off the
bye before that.

Speaker 4 (31:17):
If we're gonna lose, you want to lose to an
AFC team.

Speaker 2 (31:20):
Obviously, but that's that's just that's the standard. But yeah,
so speaking of Panthers.

Speaker 4 (31:26):
But we'll see what we'll see what we look like
going into this because sometimes too, you know, after a
tough loss, you can bounce back, but sometimes people after
a good win, the team can just fucking tank.

Speaker 2 (31:42):
Well that's well, that's exactly why I thought that this
Jets game was going to be a lot tighter than
it was, if not maybe lose, because when you're you know,
they just went through a five round dog fight with
one of the better teams in the NFC, and I thought,
for sure I'm like, all right, this is going to
tell you what this team has made of. Are they
going to lay out and just die because they just
gave it all they emptied the clip against Green Bay?

(32:02):
Or do they rebound and they go fight another fight?
Now again, going into this game, you see the offensive
lineman down, you see Ceedee lambs out, you see all
these shit, and you're like, god, em Elie Hooker goes
on ir and You're like, oh man, this is this
is getting worse and worse as the days go by,
and then the game happens and then they show out
and so that's that's a big thing, because now it's
a I think the Carolina Panther game is a tougher

(32:25):
task than the Jets. I think that our old friend
Rico Dwell told us to buckle up. Uh he said literally,
like you know, they know who I am. That's why
I was there for four years. They better buckle up.
And Schottenheimer said, we'll be wearing our seatbelts, don't worry.
So a little gamesmanship there between ric o'dowdell and his

(32:45):
old team. But again, if Chuba's back and now you
have two guys to worry about. Carolina has got a
decent running game right now. I mean, Rico went for
fucking what Keith two hundred?

Speaker 3 (32:54):
Oh yeah, I was ridiculous. I played again. I was
so That's why I lost. By the way, my asshole
friend picks him up in the morning.

Speaker 2 (33:02):
My father had him because he had Chuba, so he
pick him up fantasy. He really did.

Speaker 3 (33:06):
He picked him up. He's like, I'll just start him.

Speaker 2 (33:11):
Lines for you too.

Speaker 4 (33:15):
Who going into this game, We're at six almost a
third of the season, right who would you want to
see as our starting linebackers overshown wellsides besides overshown coming back?

Speaker 2 (33:30):
No, you got you gotta lea. You gotta play the
hot hand. And I think if Shamar James is having
fifteen tackle games, that dude needs to be in there
at all times along with Nurice ly Alfo. You don't.
You don't fuck around with this. You know, you don't.
Don't mess up a good thing. You realize that what
you had last week. You realized what they were able
to do to a Jets running attack. And like you said, Brett,
an offensive line that have been playing together forever. These

(33:52):
are the guys. If the guys that were on the
field on Sunday. I want them right back out there
on Sunday. Don't question it, don't second guess it. Just
get those guys back on the field and let's see
them blossom. Because I think.

Speaker 3 (34:02):
Answer your question, bro, it would be Luisfoe, Murray and
obviously James.

Speaker 2 (34:09):
Yeah, that's probably best bet, best practices to bring those
guys and you rotate the back end.

Speaker 3 (34:16):
Luisfoe, Murray and James.

Speaker 2 (34:18):
Okay, yeah, I'm rolling with the same Like I said,
I'm rolling with the same same guys you saw out
there on Sunday because that's that's their best believe it
or not giving up those garbage numbers or not. Towards
the back end, that's one of their best defensive performances
on an individual stats basis of the year.

Speaker 4 (34:38):
So, now, who would you want to see at safety?

Speaker 2 (34:41):
Janya Thomas keep his ass in that game, dude, that
that kid has brought a completely different energy to this team.
And this is not the discredit the what we've seen
at a Molie Hooker over the years, but there's a
little juice that was injected into this defense when he
When you take a guy like that off of special
teams and you say you know, now, go do your
things on defense. I can't be happier to have a

(35:03):
guy like that in the back of my secondary. I
think the kid's gonna get better with reps. Like, of
course everybody's got flaws, but like, I think this dude
is is on his way to being a really good
I agree.

Speaker 4 (35:14):
I agree. We gotta get Malie Cooker out.

Speaker 2 (35:16):
Put one Hooker's on IR so he'll be gone for
four weeks minimum. Yeah, it's gonna be a while. I
saw him, actually it was there, you know, just based
off where I was sitting. I don't know if I
sent you a bunch of pictures. But the video my
brother got, he like put his phone, he wedged his
phone in between the like the the tunnel and like
underneath the tunnel, so everybody had to run past his video.

(35:39):
It was pretty fucking cool. But like I was yelling
at guys at the end of the game, I'm like,
you know, brock Hoffman, guys like that. I'm like, these
guys are all stepping up, even even guys like Juan
Ye and Javante and like, these guys took their helmets
off and shelder pads off. But I'm a psychopath. I
know everybody by face as well, so like I'm screaming
at their names and shit, I'm like, let's fucking go,
and and they're looking up at me like, oh they

(36:01):
know who I am. Okay, hello, you know. But it's
just everybody is bland back.

Speaker 3 (36:07):
That's good.

Speaker 2 (36:08):
You shut the fuck up. Keep what is that has been? Back?
Back back?

Speaker 4 (36:14):
I thought he played this game?

Speaker 2 (36:15):
Yeah, no, did he? Yes, you look, you're waiting on Revel.
You're waiting on Revel. Revel's the one that hasn't seen
to go.

Speaker 3 (36:23):
Bland blame got beat a couple of times I.

Speaker 2 (36:26):
Saw, Yeah he did. He did. Trayvon Diggs. I didn't
have to. I didn't say one bad thing about him.
He did run by me very close, and I was
like sorry about the d which, by the way, he's
breaking the NFL rules a long time ago. I don't
know when they did this, but they like they went

(36:47):
away from bandanas like Dion bandanas. You couldn't wear him anymore,
and he's wearing he's wearing one every week. By the way, Yeah,
what the fuck was that?

Speaker 1 (36:58):
Like?

Speaker 2 (36:59):
Cleats? Right, that's great, that's where you're spending your money on.
You got blisters. He literally had blisters.

Speaker 4 (37:04):
But it's it's like, dude, you haven't even proven yourself yet.

Speaker 2 (37:07):
I mean, I was getting pretty bent about guys like
Tolburn and Blue after we lost to the Bears game.
Within like an hour, they're on their Instagram stories like
you dog my my new ship, love my fit, and
I'm like, dude, you guys just got sparked. I don't
give a fuck if you're on the field or not.
You're remember the Dallas Cowboys, Like, enough is enough. We
don't have to see your fucking fit or drip or whatever.
Then you want to call it.

Speaker 4 (37:27):
Why just packs his lunch and goes to work.

Speaker 2 (37:30):
He is. He's a lunch pale guy. And that's that's
exactly who you want on this team, all right, Panthers. Uh,
we already talked about Rigo Dawdell, our boy, Bryce Young,
I know, uh Keith last time we played them, he
was he played he was last year or two years.

Speaker 3 (37:45):
Ago, last year, last two years in a row, two
years in Rush beat him last year, Cooper Rush beat
him last year and then we pulled away in the
fourth quarter of the year before.

Speaker 2 (37:54):
But both Yeah, Dak was in that the first one though. Yeah, yeah, yeah,
so look we and if I'm not mistaken, they're both
in Carolina. We're going back to Carolina again. They were
Why the fuck we on the road again with Carolina.

Speaker 3 (38:06):
I don't know how that works. That's the one thing
I can never figure out.

Speaker 2 (38:08):
I mean, I know that it's like every eight years
or whatever, every four years rotating. That's how. That's how
I knew we were going to play the AFC West,
and that's how I need to jump all over the
Raiders tickets. But like, yeah, I just I feel like
we're always in Carolina. I don't know.

Speaker 4 (38:22):
It's a financial thing that like the Carolina's like, look,
we need tickets.

Speaker 2 (38:27):
That's you're not wrong.

Speaker 4 (38:29):
You got the whole family there. That's like w NBA
game now here. Yeah, we got twelve tickets at the
right behind the end zone if you guys want them.

Speaker 2 (38:38):
Yeah. Meanwhile, I can't. I can't even get into the
fucking Allegiance Stadium. Those pieces of ship out there in Vegas,
they're right now. It's like five hundred to get into door.

Speaker 4 (38:49):
I'm working on it.

Speaker 2 (38:50):
I know you're working on it, but I have to
have a backup plan in case I get on that plane.
I don't have tickets to the gate. I kind of
figure it somethic.

Speaker 3 (38:57):
Talk about Carolina. So so just remember, you know they
got this breaking up right, say one more time. They
got two wins, including a shutout to Atlanta thirty to
all right, so they're no, they're not. You know, there's
not what I know you guys touched on this, and
I know I know you now believe it more than

(39:19):
more than ever is. There's not one team.

Speaker 2 (39:22):
You know.

Speaker 3 (39:22):
I have a buddy of mine who was like, I
told you take care of the Jets.

Speaker 4 (39:25):
You were worried.

Speaker 3 (39:25):
I said, yeah, I know. Every week I'm going to
be worried, like there's no game this Dallas cowboy team
is going to go into and I'll be.

Speaker 2 (39:32):
Like, we got it.

Speaker 3 (39:35):
I would give a who it is. I really don't
care who it is.

Speaker 2 (39:38):
You should. You should have heard this one guy near
the tunnel. He's like, yo, man, bring on Kansas City,
bring on Denver. I'm like, you better just bring on
the Jets again. Everybody calm down.

Speaker 3 (39:48):
But with the Panthers, with the Panthers you had that
you have, you know we got what we got The
first ranked offense in the NFL. Still they got the
twelve ranked defense. Okay, all right, so you know this
might be one of the but they have proven against
Green Bay specifically, who I thinks defense is one of
the best, that we can put up points. Okay, so

(40:09):
you know we've played against decent defenses and really good defenses. Now,
if on the flip side, I think Carolina's offense twenty first. Okay,
they're twenty first, and we all know where our defense
is still thirty seconds, still last, so it kind of
evens itself out.

Speaker 2 (40:30):
We have to go to total total defense right now, that's
our yardage defense.

Speaker 3 (40:34):
Yeah, total, that's what you do.

Speaker 2 (40:36):
No, No, you take your scoring defense and you take
your in your yards defense, and that's how you get
your total defense. No, we're not that second.

Speaker 3 (40:45):
We're but we're thirty. We're thirty. We're thirty second overall,
with thirty second in passing yards, and we're twenty third
in rush. What else do you want that's fucking thirty two?
What do you want to throw in there to make
us look better?

Speaker 2 (40:58):
I don't know.

Speaker 3 (40:59):
Yeah, you can't. I mean what it is, what it is?
I mean, what you want to I've.

Speaker 4 (41:08):
Been watching Keith, you've been wanting to grinch hard.

Speaker 3 (41:10):
I can tell, well.

Speaker 4 (41:12):
I mean, the thing with this team, we're dead last
defense starts. There's no fucking way around.

Speaker 2 (41:18):
I'm well aware. I get. I said, I watched the
games like you guys.

Speaker 3 (41:21):
So I will say with this game, okay, if you're
if you're looking at it, and I watched, I actually
watched a condensed version of Carolina and I don't know
if y'all. Last week, I said, watch the Jets play
Miami because their defense is very similar to ours, and
they are. I think they're they're both around the same.
They're both not that good in other words, but there

(41:43):
are opportunities on the Dolphins defense to destroy Bryce Young.
When I watched this game, and you want to talk
about a team that has so many penalties, stupid penalties,
the Panthers are up there. You want to talk about
a team where, dude, we had one option so far,

(42:06):
and we all know what that was, the Russell Wilson
went and overtime that's the only interception we had, right,
I'm pretty sure, Yeah, we need to get an interception
in this game. He is so fucking careless it's not
even funny. He really is. So it's very interesting to see.
And once again, this game is all based on how

(42:26):
our offense performs. Because if Dak does have that bad
game and our our our defense at one point is
going to break, I don't give a fuck who it is.
And then I went back to that. I went I
went to the Atlanta game where they won thirty to nothing,
because I was very curious because Atlanta's a decent team, Like,
how the hell did they win thirty to nothing the

(42:46):
Carolina Panthers. Atlanta had like four turnover on downs, two
missfield goals. I mean, they just they just, you know,
they kept shooting themselves in the foot, so exactly, So
wasn't it like a pure domination thirty to nothing? Just
so everyone knows where you know, you know, where you

(43:06):
watch something, you're like, goddamn, you know what I mean?
They got random fuck out. Yeah, they lost nothing, and
it's still ugly, but it was all self inflicted, mostly
on Atlanta's part. So man, I don't know. I'll wait
for the prediction of this game. But that's my that's
my breakdown of Carolina that from what I read and
what I.

Speaker 2 (43:25):
Saw, they got some they got some kids over there.
Bryce Young is you know, he is who he is.
Like you said, he can be very careless with the football,
but he can also make a couple splash plays where
you're like, oh god, damn it. I didn't see that coming either.
They do have a couple of young receivers that I
would really like to get in front of, like Leget
and fucking they're tight ends. They got like three deep

(43:47):
on tight ends. So we got to make sure we're
matched up correctly. But if you're if you're saying that
they're always playing from behind the chains because of penalties
and shit, that's how you have to pounce on this team.
The recipe for the Cowboys to go into Carolina and
take care of business they just did with the Jets
is to get up early and have that cushion where
you have some Okay, now, there's room for error. Not

(44:07):
saying go make all the errors, but you know what
I mean, like, there's room for error. There's things that
we can clean up as we go. I think this
is gonna be a big field position game. And the
way I look at this one is in the event
that Dak Prescott does not have an MVP type game
like he's been having for the first five weeks of
the year. I circle back to the Pittsburgh game last
year on the road, where he threw a couple bad picks.

(44:30):
He threw a couple of good balls, but we were
able to stay in it and win the game in
the end. I don't want that to be the case
in this game, but I feel like that's kind of
the recipe and what we can mimic in this one.

Speaker 3 (44:41):
I get it, And honestly, man, there's no I mean,
if he does have that MVP, if he plays like
he's played the last games. Even the Bears game wasn't
that bad. We just had some bad things happen. But
they can't. They can't go tit for tat with us
the Panthers, from what I saw, they can't.

Speaker 2 (44:57):
So that's one of those This might be the same game.

Speaker 3 (45:00):
I mean, if the only way we the offense butters,
that's the only way we use this game.

Speaker 2 (45:09):
Yeah. So, in case anybody heard that, he broke up
a little bit, but he said the only way the Cowboys, Yeah, no,
it makes perfect sense. But again, they do have a decent,
decent defensive interior, So it would be interesting to see
how we run the ball, so like there's a lot
of intangibles here that they have two wins for two
and three.

Speaker 4 (45:29):
I'm just excited to see if we have a good
defensive performance. Man, I just want to see us, you know,
start communicating like that, getting the pressure again. I mean again,
they ran all over us, but you know, I want
to see that young linebacking core in there again. And
I'm just and Thomas, I just want to see what
this defense can do coming into this game with the prep,

(45:54):
with the victory, I don't see us losing.

Speaker 2 (46:00):
All right, Well, while you're there, why don't you give
me a score?

Speaker 4 (46:03):
It's tough because you know, our offense has been putting
up points. Like he said, we don't know if we're
all waiting for that fallout game from Dak, but I
mean he usually had it by game five, so on paper,
if he's consistent, I could see us winning like thirty

(46:23):
to ten.

Speaker 2 (46:25):
Wow, twenty point win. Okay, So going back.

Speaker 3 (46:29):
To that, I mean, we're all talking to me that
that starts. He have a great season two seasons ago.
I don't remember him having one bad game, except you
could maybe say the Packer playoff game because of that
pick six when our defense was getting scored on.

Speaker 2 (46:43):
But what he was running up for MVP.

Speaker 3 (46:45):
Yeah, he's fantastic. No, I'm just saying, though it's not
we've seen That's what I mean. We can get excited
about Dak and it's cool, but he has played well.
It's not like this is coming out of left field
that you know he's having a great season.

Speaker 4 (47:01):
Of course not, but I mean we've seen him. I'm
saying for me at least, I don't get nervous when
he drops back now and and he seems to really
know this offense like and like.

Speaker 3 (47:13):
And not not not not not to ship on that.
But you were pretty high on him that year too, bro, Yeah,
I know, but you were saying the same thing.

Speaker 4 (47:22):
Well that's why I just said, we're waiting to see.
I'm waiting to see I know.

Speaker 3 (47:25):
I know that I know you are. And that's my
whole point with this is that, yeah, there there's well
this isn't against you, which Starch is like, I don't
know if that's gonna happen. Let's not say.

Speaker 2 (47:35):
I'm just I know we don't want it to happen, buddy, No, no, no,
I know, but like in typical Cowboy form. You're you're
waiting for that shoe to drop, You're waiting for that. Yeah,
I mean we have every reason. Look at the thirty years.
We have a reason.

Speaker 3 (47:49):
Tom bel since he got here about the you know,
I mean that's my whole thing to me again, the
thing with Dak. The thing with Dak, it's never And
this is what I don't agree with. I don't think it's.

Speaker 2 (48:05):
Game.

Speaker 3 (48:06):
Everyone says it's the big game.

Speaker 2 (48:07):
Okay, am I breaking up? Yeah a little bit?

Speaker 3 (48:10):
Yeah, am I breaking up?

Speaker 2 (48:12):
Yeah a little bit.

Speaker 3 (48:13):
I'm gonna say it can happen with Dak against shitty
teams like it's not. He he'll play really good against
a great team. I mean a good example. Remember Denver
a few years back when Denver came and beat us
with Teddy Bridgewater m hm, with Dak at quarterback. Do
you remember that game we got it? We lost like
thirty thirty eight to fourteen. He played like shit that game.

(48:34):
We were thre thirteen point favorites. It comes out of
nowhere sometimes with him, That's all I'm saying. Yeah, where
you can't even like and I don't expect him to
play flawless. You can have a bad game, and it
be a hey, they just had a bad game. But
it's a different kind of bad game he has. It's
hard to explain. It's not like another quarterbacks bad game.

Speaker 2 (48:54):
But that's very m it's not either.

Speaker 3 (48:58):
It's not Tony Romo's. And I know you could compare
him starch and I'm starting to agree with that with everything,
But that's not the kind of bad game I'm talking about.
That's not the kind of bad game I'm talking about.

Speaker 2 (49:10):
Well, hopefully he doesn't come against Carolina. What do you
got score wise? We're still in the air, folks.

Speaker 3 (49:22):
Don't wrant thirty four. I'd say thirty four. I think
we're good for thirty points, thirty four seventeen.

Speaker 2 (49:31):
I got thirty one seventeen, so you got me by
a field goal. I have thirty one seventeen written down
for the Cowboys to get another win and to move
over five hundred. Technically it would be a three to
two and one team. It's listen, you gotta you gotta
compile them now because the schedule does not favor anybody
in Dallas going forward.

Speaker 4 (49:52):
Again, you're watching this team. This this game will will
show us something as a as a fan, just see
how this defense steps up. If we have another Chicago
type game, or if it becomes a nail bier and
our offense has to score, we're gonna have a lot
of problems for the rest of the season. If Dallas

(50:13):
can seem to get their defense to communicate and get
the coverage right, and you know, it'll give us some hope.

Speaker 3 (50:21):
Yeah, but build confidence, you know, like like if they
can have another good defensive game, I'm at score wise
and turnover wise and sack wise, I should say they
can have another one of those, then yeah, that's you
know that, then they're getting that confidence. Okay, this is working.
That's working, and especially with our defensive coordinator, this just
seems like a game he will have this defense prepared for.

Speaker 2 (50:46):
Gotta hope.

Speaker 3 (50:47):
I don't know. That's just what I'm thinking. That's not
That's why I'm giving one.

Speaker 4 (50:51):
Well, nobody here should hold each other to anything because
we're not all That's why you always said the term
on paper. Yeah, but you don't know what the hell
is going.

Speaker 2 (50:59):
To have happened that day again, we all went in
kind of shaky about the Jets, and they just went
out and they they they steamrolled them. So that's good.
You know. I will say this, if.

Speaker 3 (51:09):
The Cowboys to the Bears.

Speaker 2 (51:12):
Is right, you're gonna You're gonna be You're gonna yeah,
you're gonna trip on your own words, because sometimes you're like, oh,
they're looking great, but then he's like, what about Chicago?
You know what I mean?

Speaker 4 (51:20):
Like the Bears game really said this is gonna be
our work, it's gonna be an awful season, and then
they come back against the Jets and the Bears kind
of canceled each other out.

Speaker 2 (51:28):
I think, well, I had them. I mean, in my
preseason predictions I had I had the Cowboys three and
two after five, so being two two and one after
five is pretty fucking close. I had different losses and
different wins. I had us, you know, beating the Bears,
losing the green bag, you know what I mean. So
we'll see how it all plays out. But I will
say this, I have a feeling, and this is just

(51:49):
based off of reading through the tea leaves a little bit,
but if the Cowboys are able to rip off a
couple of wins here the Jets and this one Carolina
and then go home and beat a good, decent Washington team,
I think the Cowboy was going to make a big
splash trade at the deadline to make sure that if
they think they have what they think they have, meaning
an explosive offense that can carry him a long way,

(52:10):
and they have to shore up the defense by getting
a pass rusher. You will see that move made that.

Speaker 4 (52:16):
That was a debate online. What do we trade for?

Speaker 2 (52:19):
Because event and a defensive end and maybe a linebacker.

Speaker 4 (52:23):
I said, we get a linebacker and maybe another corner
or safety. Is what's his name still available? That used
to play for us and everybody wanted Stefan gilmourmore.

Speaker 2 (52:34):
He's chilling on the couch. I think he's waiting.

Speaker 3 (52:36):
What no, no, no, yeah, he's a agent wants Yeah. We've
got to be careful with those older guys too, man.
I mean it's not you know, I look at the
Lee Hooker now, you know what I mean. They've been
around for a while, so I meant I'm crazy.

Speaker 2 (52:49):
You see the far off, far off rumor about Max Crosby,
you see any of this ship.

Speaker 3 (52:53):
I was going to bring that up. Max Crosby's they're talking.

Speaker 2 (52:56):
I mean, dude, if they were able to flip like
a two or two two s or something like that,
or even like two years from now is one or
something like that for Max Crosby to sure up this
defensive line. Sign me all the way up, sign me
all the way up, and we all know, we.

Speaker 3 (53:12):
Know why our defensive line is playing. Getting James Houston,
we got him for what two million dollars.

Speaker 2 (53:19):
It's another one of those we have. By the way,
we have.

Speaker 3 (53:21):
More sex than the Green Bay Packers right now.

Speaker 2 (53:23):
I know, I saw that.

Speaker 3 (53:25):
I think we got to.

Speaker 2 (53:28):
Buy right.

Speaker 4 (53:30):
You guys know more about this stuff than I do,
because I don't do the fantasy and I don't who
who what linebackers are available.

Speaker 2 (53:37):
That no fantasy, You don't really do individual linebackers unless
you're really sad.

Speaker 4 (53:43):
But what I'm saying like, you guys know who's available, and.

Speaker 2 (53:46):
I don't think you have to. Here's what you have
to do, Brett. You have to look at the teams
that by the trade deadline are gonzo. Like, I don't
give a ship. If the Saints just beat up on
the Giants. The Saints are not a good football team.
I don't care what the Raiders do in the next
couple of weeks. The Raiders are also not a good
football team. Those are the teams you have to look
at and see who's willing to aren't ways with right

(54:09):
go ahead?

Speaker 3 (54:12):
Also also also you look you look at where they're
what teams are stacked at a certain position and they
need to. Like if there's a team with four really
really good linebackers that can start anywhere in the NFL,
but the receivers aren't, you know, they don't have they
only have one good receiver, then there's something you can
work out something like that, you know what I mean.

(54:33):
But it's hard to see who's a really really good
linebacker when they're not on the field though, But you know,
there could be good There could be linebackers out there
they're back, you know, backing somebody up. But they're just
they're good enough to play on our team, but not
on say, you know, the Packers or something like that
or you know, and I'm talking about outside.

Speaker 2 (54:49):
I'm just based off of everything we've seen in the
last two weeks out of Maurice and out of Shamar James, Like,
let's see what they got, you know, let's let'sten let's
not dive headfirst into uh a trade just to do it.
You know what I mean, like if you can make
a splash trade. I'm talking like, whoa the Cowboys are
and this is hypothetical. They're two to two and one.
Now the Cowboys are five two and one at some point,

(55:12):
and you're like, all right, this team could do something
special if they add this guy, right, and like then
you go, then you start to go down that road
and see who's available because you don't want to make I.

Speaker 3 (55:25):
Was gonna say Govin was it?

Speaker 2 (55:26):
He was?

Speaker 3 (55:26):
He played this game right, I think he did.

Speaker 2 (55:29):
I didn't see Clark out there. I didn't see I
saw Marquis Bell. I thought he did, but.

Speaker 3 (55:34):
It doesn't matter. Maybe he played special teams or something.

Speaker 2 (55:36):
I know, but I don't know. I thought he played
in any event, But the Dallas Cowboys got themselves with
our linebackers.

Speaker 3 (55:43):
I really like I was wrong. I mean, I thought
Sanborn was going to be Samborn. Sanborne was would have
been a legit. I thought we just had Sanborn and Leopho.
That's who I thought we had. I already gave up
on Gavon a long time ago. And Kenneth Murray. I
I was going off of PFF and what I was
reading about him. But it looks like Samborn might be

(56:04):
worse than you know, are one of our You know,
he didn't. He has not played up to expectations at all,
which I thought would have been hurd He exceeded my expectations,
which weren't that big at all in the first place.

Speaker 2 (56:13):
Man. And I think, and I think that whole thing
was just a hey, I'm going to coast the defense.
You want to come with me, like evn flu Is
to Sandborn, like you want to you want to try,
you want you want to try to see that. Yeah,
you know, he's like, what am I gonna do? Coach,
You're gonna start? It's like, oh okay, like and sure, shit,
we're five games any we're realizing you shouldn't start, but
any of it. The Dallas Cowboys head to Carolina this week,

(56:36):
another noon game, I believe, if I'm not mistaken, So
I'll be up on the early East coast over here
and even earlier on the left coast. You got some
London games, so those games start for Keith that then
Brett at six point thirty morning. That's got to be amazing,
by the way, I can't even remotely like just think
about how that would be just wake up, open your eye,
and just theres a kickoff. But yeah, we'll see what happens.

(56:58):
We've broke down.

Speaker 4 (56:59):
It's like for us on the West Coast as far
as what wake up, open your eye, it's kickoffs ten am.

Speaker 2 (57:05):
Usually, So what I'm saying, No, it's awesome. I love
that and sometimes these these the content creators. Way. Yeah,
I was just gonna say, you could be pretty much
still partying from the night before, Like, all right, let's
just stay up. It's just about three hours. But all right,
let's see what the Cowboys do against Carolina. We shall see.
We all got them winning, we all got him scoring

(57:27):
thirty plus. It's just a matter of the defense stepping
up for Dave Strcio, Brett and Keith Ernst and the
puppy in the background. We will talk.

Speaker 4 (57:34):
Wait, can I just from all be in West NYA
