Speaker 1 (00:13):
Yo, what's up everybody?
Speaker 2 (00:15):
Welcome to a brand new episode of Spill the t
Keila Here on the John Roka Channel.
Speaker 1 (00:20):
I am John Roke.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
John is always by the man, the King of Swag himself.
They're building his own empire on his channel, The Swaggy
Blird WEDNESDA Day.
Speaker 1 (00:28):
Marshall, how are you, bro?
Speaker 3 (00:30):
I bet know, since five for some reason, it's not
like anything like exciting happened. It's not like, you know,
the Supergirl trailer dropped or anything.
Speaker 1 (00:38):
So my ass was just up to be up and
it is awful.
Speaker 2 (00:46):
It's funny you say that I got up at five
this morning as well, like an old man. I had
to use the restroom and then went right back to
sleep for two and a half hours. Well you're looking
forward to that that's coming for you as well, But yeah,
that's that's how it goes.
Speaker 1 (00:57):
You got to get your sleep. If you don't get
your sleep, you're running a little ragged sometimes, so I
hear you.
Speaker 3 (01:02):
The funny thing is is I went to go take
like a quick power nap with my lunch break, only
for me to realize that I had washed the sheets.
But I like I just pulled them out of the
dryer and put them down. I didn't like remake the beds.
I was like, fuck, so I want to go remake
the bed And by the time that was like done.
Speaker 1 (01:20):
Because we we always use.
Speaker 3 (01:22):
Like while we're washing the sheets, we have one of
those like fabric like disinfectant sprays or whatever. It was
just like an extra like clean everything everything, you know,
So then I.
Speaker 1 (01:35):
Put that on.
Speaker 3 (01:35):
I'm like, man, I wait for the ship to dry now.
So by the time we got the sheets on and
all that, I laid my head down for about six minutes.
It was I was just like, you've gotta be shitting
me over here, which is it's It's fine. I mean tomorrow,
Tomorrow's my day, so I'll just I will just enjoy
(01:58):
enjoy my birthday in silent.
Speaker 2 (02:00):
Oh happy birthday, man, Happy your early birthday tomorrow?
Speaker 1 (02:03):
Thank you? Yes sir? Twenty eight, twenty nine.
Speaker 3 (02:06):
Hell yeah, let's go with twenty eight. That sounds fantastic.
Speaker 1 (02:13):
That Oh hell yeah, there you go. Well, happy happy
early birthday. Come on people us, when's his birthday? Send
in your love today? Then for stream lab super chats,
of course, save them for tomorrow. I'm sure he's gonna
go live or do something tomorrow.
Speaker 2 (02:27):
So but yeah, if you want to send in some
love today here, please feel free. Stream labs, super chats
are we got so much to talk about. We're definitely
gonna get into the Netflix Wonder Brother stuff. There is
so much happening. This is like a Real house season,
a Real Housewives. There's so much drama going on with
this shit.
Speaker 1 (02:41):
And then we're going to get into some other stuff
going on in the world of entertainment as well, gonna
get the NFL Week fourteen stuff. Even take a look
at some.
Speaker 2 (02:47):
Of the TikTok things that are popped up that are
kind of funny to look at and one really uncomfortable
one for sure. So we got a lot to cover
here on the show, So send in your stream labs
and super chats as we go along, and remember to
subscribe to the channel and abscribed to Wednesday Marshall's channel
as well, where you.
Speaker 1 (03:02):
Get blurred breakdowns and things like that there as well.
Speaker 3 (03:04):
But yes, no, I just got to know, man, I mean,
I've just been told you know, I was. I was
sitting here going, man, I'm getting old like this, that
and the third and then I got reminded by one
individual that age ain't nothing but a number, bro. Yeah,
you know, we're going to talk about a little bit later.
But a certain somebody has decided, you know, he ain't done.
(03:26):
He ain't done back.
Speaker 1 (03:29):
He ain't done. Because I haven't thrown a pass in
five years.
Speaker 2 (03:34):
And I had four more children in that time, doesn't
mean I can't get back out on the field.
Speaker 3 (03:38):
Yeah, we're going to talk about eleven is what.
Speaker 1 (03:43):
I have children. He could have his own football team.
Speaker 3 (03:46):
He literally has an offense or a defense at this
must be an offense because I guess his son is
a five star QB one.
Speaker 1 (03:55):
That's like going to a D one school or something
next year or something like that. Wow.
Speaker 2 (03:59):
Yeah, amazing. The legacies continue, man, Oudam eleven. You about
to have one athlete for Fox's sakes right there. But
let's get into things here man. Of course, as some
of you know who've been following my channel, I'm sir
Winston's comment on as well.
Speaker 1 (04:14):
This week has just been insane the last few days.
Speaker 2 (04:16):
Ever since Netflix won the bidding for Warner Brothers there
on Friday, it has been an absolute free for all
of anger from the side of Paramount There led buff
course by their seeother David Ellison with Daddy's money there,
Ellison's Oracle money backing him up, and he has launched
a hostile takeover bid now as he promised to do
(04:37):
on Monday, he's launched it this morning. It's one hundred
and eight billion dollars is what it's estimated at, at
thirty dollars a share.
Speaker 1 (04:45):
He's bringing this to the shareholders.
Speaker 2 (04:47):
He's bypassing the board to go to the shareholders because
Zaslov is seen that David Aslov, she there with Ted Sorrandos,
have been out maneuvered Ellison and out thought out of
in this whole game. And now it's about the pouting Olympics.
He sent letters to the Senate, to the Congress about
(05:08):
all this. He's coming in and try to appeal to
the shareholders. And even today Winston, we got more information
that there were tech that David Zaslov ghosted Ellison when
he tried to reach out to him and talk to
him about and he complained about why would you release
these text messages? Who would you give the text like?
I don't understand it looks pathetic. Look, what are your
(05:28):
thoughts happening with me?
Speaker 3 (05:30):
I mean I saw those text messages that I immediately
went to the throwback of Maclamore be like, Yo, Kendrick bro,
I don't know how I won the the you know,
hip hop Album of the Year. That would make no sense.
You're Kendrick. I'm just Maclamore, man. Like the heightst was dope,
but like to was that to pip a Butterfly?
Speaker 1 (05:52):
Was that good?
Speaker 3 (05:53):
King mat City whatever it was? Yeah, man, it was you, dog,
It should have been you. That's what this now. These
it just coming out of being like it would be
my honor and my privilege to work with you as
co partner's side by side into the sunset as we
take on these epic eyepiece. You should know that the
Ellison name stands for honor, integrity, and honor, tegrity. I
(06:21):
just I just I man, I I can't like it.
Just it was so sad. Yeah, to see that, and
it felt like middle school that like we're just seeing
leaked d ms. I don't know if you've heard of
the of the Facebook group, Uh are we dating the
same guy? And like a whole there's a whole bunch
(06:42):
of ladies are in it and there they they will
be like hey, hey, y'all. Anybody know anything about about
Jeffrey over here that will put up his like posts
and things like that, be like.
Speaker 1 (06:50):
I know Jeffrey he as so look at these texts.
Speaker 3 (06:52):
Like you and they'll like kind of get the thing.
It feels kind of the same kind of high school last.
Speaker 1 (07:02):
It's crazy man. Let's let's let's take a little bus.
Speaker 2 (07:05):
Yeah yeah, let's take a look at it, because it
is just madness to see what these what these text.
Speaker 1 (07:12):
Messages were where they are? I think this is it? Yeah,
here we go? Are we both on the screen? You could?
Uh yeah, so uh this is what about the CEO?
Speaker 2 (07:21):
David Aslov ghosted Paramounts David Ellison just hours before the
news broke the Netflix with bind WB on December fourth,
Following paramount let me make it a little bit bigger.
Following Paramounts submission of a bid to the WBD board,
Ellison sent the following texts, Aslov, just try calling you
about a new bid we have submitted. I heard join
all your concerns and believe we have addressed them in
our new proposal. Please give me a call back when
(07:43):
you can discuss in detail. At approximately four pm on
December fourth, having heard nothing all day per paramount filing,
Ellison sent another text, iss aslov David, I appreciate you
underwater today, so I want to send you a quick text.
Speaker 1 (07:57):
Please know when you next.
Speaker 2 (07:58):
Meet as a board, we wanted offer you a package
that addressed all the issues you discussed we discussed together.
Those were one we wanted to offer complete certainty, two
strong cash value, three speed clothes. Please note importantly, we
did not include best and final on our bid. Also,
please not, despite the noise in the last twenty four hours,
I have nothing but respect and admiration for you in
the company.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
As Winston was portraying, it would be.
Speaker 2 (08:21):
The honor of a lifetime be a partner, to be
the owner of these iconic assets. If we have the
privilege to work together, you will see that my Daddy
and I are the people that you had dinner with.
Speaker 1 (08:30):
We are always loyal and honorable to our partners.
Speaker 2 (08:32):
And we hope we have the opportunity to prove that
to you best.
Speaker 1 (08:36):
David, did he have to say daddy your dad? No?
He said father, my father, Okay, okay, And apparently.
Speaker 2 (08:42):
He hosted Dellison could accord it tosave as hard as
he could have with the span of three months. He
hosted Azlav at a dinner with his father at their
family's home in Beverly Hills, then offered Zaslav a co
CEO co chairman role, but the board in the unrejected
Ellison's proposal, and that's why he's gone nuclear.
Speaker 1 (08:58):
With this hostile bid.
Speaker 2 (08:59):
So yeah, I was told by somebody that this is
not high school when it comes to big business, But
this this feels like high school slash middle school.
Speaker 1 (09:07):
Like she's not add into you, man, to stop trying
to ask her out. That's what it feels like to me.
Speaker 3 (09:12):
I mean, here, I'm gonna show you one of my
favorite memes in the world. It's a fuck boy future
and essentially what it is, it's always future. Whenever he
sees something, he has to like text the X about it, like, hey, girl,
I saw Paw Patrol Paw Patrol commercial this morning and
it made me think a little man. I hope you
was able to get him everything you wanted. You're an
(09:33):
amazing mother, so I know you made it happen. Merry
Christmas to you and tell little man I said, Merry Christmas,
or I know you probably hate my guts but happy
Thanksgiving Moms made the peacock pie again, and it reminded
me of how I went wrong with you. So much
stuff and not enough appreciation for the sweet person you are.
You don't have to respond, but I just wanted you
to know that. Or this one, you know, Instagram was
(09:55):
down and reminded me of all the times you tried
to refresh what we had, but I kept showing you
the saying bs time after time. I wish I could
straighten our connection and see what's new on the pages
of this book called us.
Speaker 1 (10:06):
You don't have to reply, just share my real feelings.
Get it real. Even if we not together, You'll forever
be my close friend. That's what that feels like.
Speaker 3 (10:14):
Wow, this literally feels like Homie is just pulling a
full on.
Speaker 1 (10:18):
Just like future, just just like fuck boy kind.
Speaker 3 (10:23):
Of meltdown here, and you know, the bad bitch that
is ast Off has not followed for it.
Speaker 1 (10:30):
He really isn't.
Speaker 2 (10:31):
And and even Ted Serahos came out I think the
yesterday or this morning actually came out and said, I
think like.
Speaker 1 (10:40):
We knew he was going to do all of this.
Speaker 2 (10:42):
We're pretty ironclad and our thoughts on this, Oh, yeah,
here we go.
Speaker 1 (10:47):
Let me bring this up and put this on the
screen as well. What did he say? Where is this one? Oh?
I always forget anyway anyway, it's it's up here somewhere.
Which one is it under? Yeah? Tr status?
Speaker 2 (11:00):
Okay, let me get that one up because this is
what sarahas said with all this, which I think is
really fascinating, he said. Tanto says Paramount takeover bid for
Warners was entirely expected. We have a deal done, he said.
Today's move, which was the one hundred and a billion
dollar hostile takeover bid, today's move was entirely expected. We
have a deal done, and we are really happy with
(11:21):
the deal. For shareholders, for consumers, it's a great way
to create and protect jobs in the mtiment industry.
Speaker 1 (11:25):
We're super confident we are going to get it across.
Speaker 2 (11:29):
And that to me is the words of someone who's
already explored every possible avenue the Paramount can explore here
and they are going to end up winning this whole thing.
He even went to visit Trump back in November early
November to start the process of like, look, we got
to maintain a relationship with you because you're going to
prove this, and apparently Trump couldn't help, couldn't stop talking
(11:50):
such positive things about him at the Kennedy Center Honors thing.
So this to me seems like it's all set up
for them to win. And this is all sour grapes
from Ellison and he's only looking worse, dude, as more
of the information comes out. Whinston, he looks worse and
worse as more of the information comes out. I don't
know what the fuck they think they're doing. This is bad,
we are, Yeah, it's not great.
Speaker 3 (12:10):
And I and I mean it's funny because people have
been I remember on Friday how many people were just
like pissed off the Netflix was doing it was the
one that won. Yeah, And it's not to say that
there aren't concerns like Serrando's actually had the audacity to
be like, well, you know, Barbie and Oppenheimer would have
done just as big on Netflix instead of in a
movie theater as like, no, no, it would not have. You.
(12:32):
If you believe that, then I got some ocean side
property to sell you in Chicago, Mi, dude, Like stop it, like,
don't that's not even remotely close. Now, it doesn't mean
that the streamers aren't doing big business now, especially that
we get reamed with new prices every two seconds, because
like it feels like they just continue to climb and
climb and climb and climb and climb right the same
(12:54):
way that like, you know, an uber. I've said this before,
the whole thing, and Netflix has been quoted in saying
that the whole thing with these tech companies is they're
meant not to truly innovate, They're meant to disrupt. Netflix
was always their model was always to disrupt Hollywood.
Speaker 1 (13:12):
They started with Blockbuster and disrupting their model, and.
Speaker 3 (13:15):
Then once they started producing their own content, they applied
the same thing Uber and lifted the same thing with taxis.
Speaker 1 (13:20):
They got you addicted to the product, they gave.
Speaker 3 (13:22):
You a little taste, and once they had the market share,
the price is skyrocketed. So before you could go, we'll
just uber into town. It will cost ten bucks, no
big deal. Now it costs you fifty. And that's the
same thing the streamers are doing. I say all that
to say that while I am worried about what Sarandos
is going to bring to the table once he has
all of this stuff, because he's made allusions to not
(13:42):
caring about theatrical as much. It has been quoted by
Ellison that he had made assurances to the Trump administration
that if he bought Warner Brothers, he would be gutting CNN,
so it would look something look like something that Trump approves,
and it's already started that with CBS News.
Speaker 1 (14:00):
Let's bring that up, brother man, Let's bring that up here.
If you think Paramount, this is from the.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
Wall Street Journal, The Wall Street Journal, which has carry
Trump's water for a number of years, very much a
right wing publication. They if I think Tennessee Hall or
at Tennessee, Haaller tweeteds out. If you think Paramount is
just trying to buy Warner of other sales and can
stop seeing and from criticizing Trump, you're right, during to Washington.
In recent days, David Elison offered assurances to Trump, as
(14:24):
Winston was alluding to to Trump administration officials that if
he bought Warner he'd make sweeping changes to CNN, a
common target of President Trump's ire. Trump has told people
close to him that he wants to do ownership of
CNN as well as challenges to CNN programming. So all
this stuff is coming out, even from right wing columnists
(14:45):
and right wing sites. They're exposing Ellison's actual plan on
this whole thing.
Speaker 1 (14:50):
And it's the first thing I said.
Speaker 2 (14:51):
This started breaking when Jeff and I were doing hot
mic and it broke that he made the proposal, and
I'd said, this is absolutely move for CNN. Yes, to
get the ip he of course, but they definitely want
to control the narrative and start to twist people's minds
to focus on the right wing candidates and essentially create
a a dictatorship under the illusion of a democracy by
(15:15):
controlling all the media airwaves or a lot of the
media airwaves. And this is what the plan is, dude,
and it's it's disgusting. And I wonder how all these people,
some of our colleagues, Winston, who were out here going like, no, screwup.
I don't care if paramat gets seen. I care about
theaters or I care about physical media. And it's like,
do you care about the future of the country, Like,
(15:36):
this is what we're playing with here, not your local
movie theater.
Speaker 1 (15:39):
This is what we're playing with, So your mood, your
would see it's it is.
Speaker 3 (15:44):
It is a combo of things because your movie theater
is one small domino and everything else because what you're
what you're getting closer to. If if anybody, if anybody
saying that was upset about Kimmel being pulled off the
air and the idea of of going full Russia and
(16:04):
having state run media, the last thing you need is
a scenario where an administration is giving thumbs up, yeah
and just and just fully going yep, no, we like
that the best because they listen to what we say.
That's the point of media is supposed to be the
idea of not only representation, but the free flowing of
(16:27):
ideas as well as truth being brought to power. It
is supposed to be that comedians and journalists and things
like that are supposed to be the stance against power.
If what you're saying is is that you, hey, I
now have control two of the biggest studios do TV
and movie wise period under my control, and I and
(16:47):
I bow to you, oh King Trump, then that's not
you were you were spinning in the face of that.
We should be able to have a CBS that has
your n CIS's and your Yellowstones and you're all the
other stuff that that paramount put out. But then you
also have an NBC that has you know, I've been
doing rewatches that has your thirty rocks and your parks
(17:08):
and rec and all the shit. You should have stuff
that speaks to liberals. You should have stuff that speaks
to conservatives. You should have stuff that speaks to everybody.
This idea of we're all gonna lean this one political
way is absolute insanity. And that has always been why
I like my two concerns have been one that and
two when you match two studios together like that, the
(17:29):
amount of job loss that is coming from layoffs, it
was gonna be bad no matter who bought it, because
if another company is acquiring one, like if a company
is acquiring another, you don't need two PR teams. You
don't need two HR teams, you don't need two marketing teams,
you don't need two analytics.
Speaker 1 (17:45):
It you start slashing people. Yeah, so it.
Speaker 3 (17:48):
Is bad business for the sake of a free media,
and it's bad business for the sake of both jobs
and then for consumers. The prices are only gonna get
more ridiculous when it's like the only game in town. Great,
we're charging you fifty dollars to have paramount max plus Yeah,
there are.
Speaker 2 (18:07):
No winners in this, you know, I think all around
because if the best thing would be for Warner Brothers
not to sell, but there's no way you're going to
force them not to sell. This is a free country.
If they want to sell, they can sell. The question
becomes who do you sell too? And that's where the
Paramount Netflix situation is a real interesting one because both
(18:28):
offer their pros and their cons right because Paramounts committed
they said, they said, I don't know if I much
believe them, but they said they're gonna commit to thirty
theatrical film releases a year going forward with working with
Warner Brothers. That's their goal, right. But Ellison also said,
we are gonna have things just the way they were
with Warner Brothers.
Speaker 1 (18:47):
We're just gonna own them, but they're gonna keep operating.
Speaker 2 (18:50):
David Zaslov sticks around as CEO, the guy in charge
of TV, the HBO guy, They're all sticking around.
Speaker 1 (18:56):
So we're just going to business as normal. We're just
gonna be owning them. But who do you believe?
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Right, because I just as you said this, like all
kinds of stuff around, this stuff with them wanted to
become state run media as well.
Speaker 3 (19:06):
I also like this idea of like no, no, no,
it's it's balance and all that that I've seen actual
proof of folks that I know, Like, first of all,
look look at the way the CW, which is the
main controlling stake for them, between Warner and and CBS
was CBS. They fully gutted anything that smelled quote unquote
(19:27):
woke or DEI.
Speaker 1 (19:28):
So yes, you asched off the Berlante verse.
Speaker 3 (19:33):
You like, I know, the shows the ratings were going down,
but you took all of that out. You took out
every single show except for All American because you couldn't
deny those.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
Numbers, right, you got rid of all of that.
Speaker 3 (19:43):
I know people that were doing shows for for channels
like B E T where it was like it was
gonna be like a show just about a black woman
doing some stuff, right, They're like, yeah, no, we're not
really doing that woke DEI stuff anymore.
Speaker 1 (19:57):
It was for B E T. Yeah, what are you
you're gonna put on there?
Speaker 3 (20:01):
If you're not gonna put a show about a black woman,
I don't understand. So like that's my point is I
already have seen the proof that they don't give a shit,
and that they are buying into the same kind of
project twenty twenty five where anti woke, where anti DEI
were anti all this shit. But I just don't trust
(20:22):
it that they're they're fine with the idea of black
and brown felt going back to the background, but they're not.
But they're not chill with the idea of of literally
allowing us to also have space in that sort of
because again, it does not make logical sense to say
you can't do it all. You literally can't. There's an
other's an audience for every single type of thing. So
(20:45):
what are we even going on about.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
I know that's the thing that I that I come
back to over and over again, is like, there's a
real truth to all of this, but I think some
people don't want to see it. I think some people
are just caught up in like focusing on theaters and
and and physical.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
Media and all of that.
Speaker 2 (21:02):
But there's real ramifications to what the Allisons are trying
to do here, and they're trying to say all the
right things to convince you to do it. They're just
like a producer or some of the more nefarious producers
on movie sets who want you to get you to
do something. They are just going to try every tactic
in the world to try to convince you to do
it because they need their needs met. And in the end,
(21:23):
they're not going to fulfill the promises they gave you
to get you to do a certain thing on set.
Speaker 1 (21:28):
It's exactly what you're seeing here.
Speaker 2 (21:29):
Just because they say they're going to commit to thirty
theatrical movies, it doesn't mean that they're necessarily going to
do that.
Speaker 1 (21:36):
And it does.
Speaker 2 (21:36):
And unless you write in the contract like they can,
really they could release a move but do no pr
for it, no ads for so we technically released it,
but you know, we didn't promote it or push it,
and it failed. And then you reinforce the idea that, well,
we do we don't need to be doing thirty because
we're losing money from it. So this idea that going
with with with Paramount over Warner Brothers because it somehow
will save movie theaters and physical media or keep theatrical
(21:59):
windows with R it's an utter lie. It's not going
to The fears are going away, not all of them,
but some of them are going to go away. Physical
media is definitely going away. That's been dying on the
vine for quite some time. There's nothing this.
Speaker 1 (22:12):
Deal does to save any of that. That's just in
your minds.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
I like, just just to that point of they can
say whatever they want now and then say because because.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
Let's let's keep it a buck.
Speaker 3 (22:26):
We've all applied for a job, and like, like I'm
trying to remember who I want to say, it was
probably deal hugely.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
They did this joke best. Maybe it was Chris Rock,
I can't remember.
Speaker 3 (22:35):
But the idea of like, you're in a job, and
if you lie about all that shit so you can
get the job, talk about where you're willing to work weekends.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
Absolutely, I'll work weekends. I don't need no time for myself.
Speaker 3 (22:44):
You know what I'm saying. It's like, okay, are you
willing to go in for a pay cut? Well, I
need all that money anyway, I'm doing it. I don't
need all that money whatever. And then you get in
there you're like, I do none of that shit exactly exactly.
Paramounts guidance since the merger has laid off around thirty
six hundred jobs yep, thirty six hundred after saying no,
(23:05):
we're coming together to make this a stronger kind of
studio whatever whatever. And then it became like, well, we
have to do this, we have to restructure, we're trying
to streamline, there's a lot of redundancies.
Speaker 1 (23:13):
Blah blah blah blah blah blah blah.
Speaker 3 (23:15):
It was really just a stepping stone because Paramount had
been looking for a buyer for a while, and I
remember reading an article last year and being really kind
of worried about it. But the idea that they've been
looking at a buyer for a while because they really
were falling in like fourth and fifth place in respective arenas,
whether it be streaming or as.
Speaker 1 (23:33):
The movie studio.
Speaker 3 (23:34):
So they bought Paramount to give them that the sky
Dance did to give them the illusion of like, yo,
we actually have more power and more whatever whatever, to
then ultimately get their prize of WB as far as
it's going.
Speaker 1 (23:47):
And again you did that.
Speaker 3 (23:49):
You said what you need to say to get the girl,
only to treat her terribly, and now you're doing this
so you can get the other girl.
Speaker 1 (23:55):
Yeah, you're literally dating.
Speaker 3 (23:58):
You decided to hook up with the the best friend
just you can get close to the girl you actually
want to talk to, so you can essentially be like,
I don't really care about you. Maybe y'all could be
sister wives, but I'm really trying to come over here
and talk to her, like clearly, because that's the thing
that they keep talking about, the IP that Warner has.
They're not they're not amping up and talking about how
excited they are about the IP that they already have
(24:19):
with Paramount right right. They're they're like, I want what
Warner has. That's what I want, yeah, exactly. And that's
where you wonder.
Speaker 2 (24:30):
How long they can keep this up, you know, because
the stuff that's being exposed to Winston, as I said,
they look worse and worse as more of this stuff
gets exposed, and you wonder, okay, well, where is the limit?
Where is the line where finally people go, We're not
going to entertain this anymore.
Speaker 1 (24:47):
Like going to the shareholders.
Speaker 2 (24:49):
That's like going to your mom because your dad won't
give you what you want or vice versa.
Speaker 1 (24:55):
It's a thousand percent a hard no.
Speaker 3 (25:00):
And you dad, you know, Dad's asked is drunk for
watching football.
Speaker 1 (25:03):
So you go out here and be like, daddy, Daddy,
I want to go to the mall, ask him up.
Speaker 3 (25:07):
I did ask My mom said, ask you Cheryl Cheryl,
did you say to coming here and ask me?
Speaker 1 (25:14):
See she didn't answer. She said she didn't want to
be bothered with it.
Speaker 3 (25:16):
Just came to ask you when your mom clearly said
you gotticulous and then you ain't going no, God damn
more exactly.
Speaker 1 (25:23):
And then the dagget yelled that because the mom goes,
I told that boy no. So you know you get that,
you get that situation as well. So yeah, I mean,
it's it's it's hilarious to me when you look at
all of this because and it's and it's sad.
Speaker 2 (25:34):
It's sad because this is this They should just be
planning to get this thing through. And the Ellisons are
sitting there saying that we have a we have a
situation with Trump, we have a smooth ride with Trump.
And they've got their mouthpieces that are out there. That
guy Charles over on the New York Post, he snapped
back at me because I called him out on some
of the stuff he's been doing. He's basically been a
(25:54):
mouthpiece for the Ellisons promoting how they were ahead of
the curve on all of this.
Speaker 1 (25:58):
They weren't shocked by any of this. They've been prepared.
It's bullshit.
Speaker 2 (26:01):
They got outmaneuvered an outthought by uh sorrandos. Here am
I saying that right? Some people really upset the way
I'm saying it.
Speaker 1 (26:08):
Uh. And he's just smarter.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
In the situation because he's been a politic, He's been
a Hollywood political animal longer than Ellison has been in
the business, and he just understands how to play this
thing with the big boys. You know who wouldn't have
got outmaneuvered David Ellison's dad, Larry. If Larry had been
in charge, because he's run Oracle and he's played these
games before, Larry would have been I guarantee you there
have been conversations where David Ellison is sitting there and
(26:33):
Larry is yelling.
Speaker 1 (26:34):
You idiot, why did you think this was good? Why
didn't you do this or this?
Speaker 3 (26:38):
Dad?
Speaker 2 (26:39):
Absolutely, those conversations have happened at the dinner table or
on their fancy ass jets or wherever where it's very
clear that, like, you know, the kid is the kid
don't have what the dad has.
Speaker 1 (26:49):
And we see this all the time. Look at how
Trump treats his own children.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
They're like they're like castrated eunuchs wandering around because Trump
has absolutely destroyed their fucking self esteem.
Speaker 1 (26:59):
Watch the ins A Band documentary, the way he treated
Shane the whole time. These rich guys, they did.
Speaker 2 (27:04):
Not treat their children well. Trump was treated like dogshit
by his dad. That's why he's an asshole. These guys
don't treat their children well, and then they pass on
their bullshit onto us.
Speaker 1 (27:12):
And that's the horrible truth when you look at them.
Speaker 3 (27:14):
Yeah, I mean, the other thing about it that I
that I don't need is I also don't need the
idea of one entity having that much control and power.
Remind you there's already a bunch of billionaires that do
that as is.
Speaker 1 (27:25):
But remember.
Speaker 3 (27:28):
Larry Ellison, who again in charge of Oracle and all
that kind of stuff. And that's where David got his
money for to continue to do all the stuff that
he's doing. Like, yes, they were running sky Dance, but
obviously that's where the money was coming in. Yeah, Oracle
just bought TikTok after Trump turned around and was like,
we're not gonna have no Chinese kevity and is Lena
(27:49):
Secrets set up the sale of TikTok to Oracle. His
main whole thing is Ai and everything else like that too.
Speaker 1 (27:58):
So there.
Speaker 3 (27:59):
Now they're the ones farming your data and determining how
things are gonna go and dick again. It is all
about control. Like I, I don't think I have it
ready in enough time. Let me see if I do,
because I have the perfect thing to explain how to
solve this. Ironically, I hate the fact that it had
(28:20):
to come that my that my favorite movie of all time,
had to be bastardized as the thing that that.
Speaker 1 (28:30):
Like that that that got us here.
Speaker 3 (28:33):
Yeah, let me see. I can't find it. That's fine.
Do you remember in Rush Hour two when they're leaving
Hong Kong. Yes, they are headed back to la and
they're on the flight and you have the whole thing
where where you know, uh Carter, James James Carter is like,
you know, Field, finish that whole thing.
Speaker 1 (28:54):
He has a conversation with Lee where he goes.
Speaker 3 (28:57):
Let me introduce you to Detective James Carr's plan for
solving any case. Follow the rich white man. Follow the
rich follow the rich white man. At the center of
all of the bullshit or any crime that's going on,
there's some rich white man at the center.
Speaker 1 (29:15):
Of all of it.
Speaker 3 (29:16):
And if you watch because normally when white people freak out,
they start screaming like ah, you know, you know, this
is where the funny racism of rush hour comes in.
It's like, you know, Asian people are no different, man,
because y'all, y'all got to like kayaka kayaka.
Speaker 1 (29:30):
Like that whole shit.
Speaker 3 (29:31):
It's like what old white dude is calm in the
midst of chaos, that rich white man is behind that ship. Yes, yeah,
flow and behold look how hardcore this full court press
is to do this.
Speaker 2 (29:44):
Oh yeah, yeah, yeah, it's that's the thing when you
look at it, Yes, exactly.
Speaker 1 (29:49):
And so where is it going to lead? What is
the next step?
Speaker 2 (29:52):
Because they've they've started the hostile takeover bid, the lawsuits
have started to come in. You have Elizabeth Warren playing
both sides against she's against Netflix and paramoun ketting WB.
You got Bernie coming out on this, and then Trump
is like, both of them have done me wrong recently.
I don't know which way I'm leaning, But it gets
(30:13):
exposed in the SEC filing that his son in law,
Jered Kushner is one of the people behind the bid
from the paramount side of things.
Speaker 1 (30:21):
So is that him putting the finger on the scale,
or does.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
Trump not want Jared to have that much power and
says no to Paramount, says yes to Netflix because he
doesn't want to be challenged amongst his own family dynamics.
Speaker 1 (30:33):
Or who the top dog is.
Speaker 2 (30:34):
So you have all of that running through all this
nonsense as well. So where is it going to go?
And the reason, apparently it came out today the reason
the board rejected one of the reasons that's reportedly one
of the reasons that the board rejected the bid was
because it had so much Saudi Arabian sorry, Middle Eastern
money behind it, with forty billion dollars from the Middle East,
(30:54):
with the PIF Fund, with Katar and with Saudi Arabia
and other country being involved here. And before that, two
three days ago, ten Cent, which is this Chinese military
company that is on the watch list the twenty twenty
five watch list of international in the United States Department
Defense because they spy on their own people and might
(31:17):
be and are trying to expand their spying to across
to the globalist situation.
Speaker 1 (31:22):
Tencent removed themselves two days ago from the bid.
Speaker 2 (31:24):
But you'd have to be a fucking child to think
they're still not going to find a way to be
behind this thing through loopholes, shell companies or whatever to
put their money back into this, because they clearly want to.
So these are nefarious anti American characters that are involved
behind this bid from Paramount to go after this, not
to mention the Ellison's being maga. So to me, this
is all treeson a shit in my opinion, to give
(31:47):
this to someone, to give WB to Paramount, it's dangerous.
Speaker 1 (31:51):
It just it again.
Speaker 3 (31:55):
I think all of it is bad because let me
make it clear, it is not lost on me that
Netflix getting it is also not a good thing, like
everybody said, because of what that means for physical media,
because of what that means for the theatrical experience. If
you had to do this, your best bet as a
company that had nothing to do with media like that,
(32:18):
just deciding we want to diversify, so the way Apple
started its own studio, if Apple hadn't done that and decided,
fuck it, we'll buy Warner Brothers, and then that was
how they kind of flexed out. Fine, because you were
not in the game already now, but if you already are,
that's really where things just start to get ugly. But
I just again, I obviously am not going to be happy.
(32:41):
I'm gonna be furious if the theater going experience dies,
and I'm gonna be furious if we lose our Blu
rays and shit, because in the same vein, and like,
I know, this was a different scenario, but like all
of these studios were doing the shit during the pandemic
where it was like, well, they weren't putting as much
out in physical media because they were like.
Speaker 1 (33:00):
They're on a streaming service. Check it out on a
streaming service.
Speaker 3 (33:02):
How often does Disney lock up vault movies so that
you just don't have access to shit? Like I knew
people in the industry who had their movies, their TV shows,
the stuff that they'd worked so hard for that all
of a sudden just evaporated without a trace because they
were just like, ah, we don't want to pay you
the royalties. And this is right before the strike or
right during the strike, but they literally were like, we
(33:24):
don't want to pay you that shits, so sorry, it's gone.
It saves us money to not have to host that shit.
So like, do not get it twisted. None of it
is good. But at the end of the day, if
the only thing that I'm worrying about is that versus
the idea of that and then a state run media
type scenario, I'm gonna pick one over the other because
(33:47):
as important as it is, and knowing that this is
my livelihood and everything else, one is gonna straight take
away the idea of free speech potentially because of who
you are courting. You may not, you may not directly,
but you are you are empowering certain people.
Speaker 1 (34:04):
Yeah, and the.
Speaker 3 (34:04):
Other is just kind of changing a landscape that doesn't
should not change like that. But you see what I'm
saying Like that, They're on different levels here, Like one is, ah, damn,
I broke my hand. The other is I shattered every
bone in my body. Two very different things.
Speaker 1 (34:23):
Yeah. Yeah, I go back to something.
Speaker 2 (34:26):
I've read this the other night, and I'll read it
again here for some people to enjoy me last night live.
But this is what my friend texted me, who is
in the business in the industry. She said to me,
my main reason for thinking Netflix is the better option,
even beyond the trump of it all, is the fact
that they've never been afraid of diverse storytelling. They are
consistently making queer shows and shows with diverse casts. They
(34:48):
have a huge slates of foreign language stuff which they
make to they make accessible for everyone, whereas ParaMed HBO
always messes up their subtitles, and they actually promote these
foreign things and foreign TV shows and foreign language things.
They've also never caved to pressure or harsh reactions to diversity,
and they have constantly saved projects from other studios like
(35:10):
K Pop, Demon Hunters and Pnemona and others. So this
is the thing when you look at it. Yes, physical media,
sure it's gonna go away. Yes, the shortening theatrical windows,
that is a tough situation. But I think the public
is inspiring that more than the studios are. But the
thing is that Netflix is the one who is doing
the is showing you that they are unafraid of doing
(35:30):
diverse storytelling. They don't listen to the anti woke fucker's
crowd on YouTube. They do what they think is best
and most of the time it hits. Sometimes it doesn't,
but that's their approach. And I'll take that, as you said, Winston,
as you described it so well over state run media.
I'll take that over Ellison telling James Gunn you need
to kill hawkwoman for what she did to that corrupt
(35:51):
white dude from the Eastern European country. And Superman needs
to see truth, nance to say truth, justice and the
magaway like these are the things.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
That we're becoming under an Ellison rule.
Speaker 2 (36:00):
And that's the thing that I think is fascinating when
you look at it, because that's the difference here between
these two.
Speaker 1 (36:05):
There's there's pros and cons, but there's much more pros.
Speaker 2 (36:08):
In my opinion, on the Netflix side than there is
on the Paramount side.
Speaker 3 (36:11):
And that's that's that's really all it boils down to
for me. Again, let me reiterate this one more time,
because someone's gonna talk.
Speaker 1 (36:19):
About all your just whatever sort of shill. It's not.
Speaker 3 (36:21):
It's not that they're all bad. Mergers are into corporate
murders are not a good thing. They are they are bad, bad, bad,
because again, you are screwing over the consumer as far
as the price goes, and you were screwing over the
worker because again, the minute you shove all this together,
there's not you have. You have made a hunger games
(36:43):
and it's like we don't have enough for all of you,
so you go full than I I don't know if
you saw this on my story. But like, we have
been trying to get my lady to to finish the
Infinity saga for years now, and we finally we were
down the Infinity War endgame because she went with me
to the theaters to see Cap to Marvel nice like
the and she saw Amin and the Wasp and all that,
(37:04):
So we just needed to do these last two.
Speaker 1 (37:06):
We've been watching the rest of the over years.
Speaker 3 (37:09):
So she finally sits down to watch Infinity War and
she loved it. She was like, this was really great.
It's really well balanced, like all that kind of stuff,
and but even how nefarious Danos was, but also the
idea of like shit, there isn't enough to go around,
like that's not how I would do it, but damn
there is. But but that's what mergers do. It's it's
it's some big Weig billionaire with his Infinity Stones going
(37:31):
half of you Gotta die.
Speaker 1 (37:32):
By yeah, basically like yeah, yeah, and and and uh,
Sarah Nos came out and said like, uh, we are we.
Speaker 2 (37:46):
Are gonna cost we are gonna lose less jobs than
Paramount will in their merger, Like less people would be
fired under our approach than Paramount's approach and so yeah,
I mean it's it's all positioning.
Speaker 1 (37:58):
It's you know, how much of his is true.
Speaker 2 (38:00):
But like I tend to believe that because he's saying
very clearly that he's going to leave WB alone. And yeah,
they'll have some kind of input, but they're not trying
to take control of him then change everything and make
everything just go out and streaming. He wants to respect
and honor the tradition of WB and I think Netflix
needs this, whereas Paramount is trying to control everything and
put the foothold down and all of that. Netflix is
(38:21):
trying to elevate their status here and start to win awards.
It's not a coincidence that a lot of Netflix films
in the Golden Globes and in this Critics' Choice were
snubbed this year again because or the end, they have
never won an Oscar for Best Picture, because I think
the industry votes against them because of the idea of
shortening theatrical windows and all of that affects the money,
(38:42):
affects jobs. But if you get Warner Brothers and you
show good faith towards the rest of the industry by
letting one of the others be themselves and put out
their movies, and yes you'll have some input, but not
too much. I think that's going to smooth a lot
of the issues out with a lot.
Speaker 1 (38:54):
Of the voters.
Speaker 2 (38:55):
And eventually they're going to win an Oscar for Best
Picture because they don't have the bias against them that
some voters have when they're casting their votes.
Speaker 1 (39:03):
So it's a way of elevating the company's profile. I
feel that.
Speaker 3 (39:06):
I mean, it's not lost on me though that Like again,
when we just talk about all the different sides of
this thing, the strike went on as long as it
did because of network. Netflix was the one that was
holding up that train. Like again, I have to reiterate,
none of these options are good. Yes, Netflix was the
(39:27):
one that was holding up that train because all of
the other studios were were had other things to kind
of fall back on as far as their money went.
Disney obviously because of the ip of Disney as a whole,
had all of the you know, theme parks and the merchandise,
and they owned ESPN, so you had sports and whatnot,
(39:49):
Warner Brothers same stuff. Yes, they you know TV shows
and movies, but you had your other TV so you
had your your various reality shows as they were. You
had sports as well, because you know with TNT they
were doing the NBA. They all of those classic studios
had something else to fall back on, and Netflix didn't,
and they were raising the biggest fuss about not paying
(40:11):
writers and not paying actors. And that's the thing I've known,
both personally and others that a lot of those deals
where you're like, dude, I am a lead on a show,
you're thinking, because the base rate of doing that on
say network TV is like fifty like anywhere from typically
around eighteen to twenty grand is like the bare floor,
(40:32):
but like fifteen to twenty.
Speaker 1 (40:34):
I knew people that like, uh. And when I say that,
I mean like per episode.
Speaker 3 (40:38):
I know people that would be on a lead on
a Netflix show and they're making like twenty five hundred
dollars an episode. And the problem with that, obviously, is
you got to remember that's not twenty that I'm not
saying that is your net Twenty five hundred is what
you were paying your entire team and paying taxes on
per episode and shit like that. So where you're thinking, damn,
(40:59):
I just did thirteen episodes here, I should be.
Speaker 1 (41:01):
Set for at least the year or what not.
Speaker 3 (41:03):
You've maybe made You've walked away with maybe ten grand,
and that shit took you like four four months plus.
You gotta do press for it and shit like that,
Like you better have someone else lined.
Speaker 1 (41:16):
Out, you know, son bring up the issues. Yeah, do
not get it twisted.
Speaker 3 (41:23):
They all suck and with some former fashion but I
but again, I just have to look at the bigger
picture as far as this all goes.
Speaker 2 (41:30):
Well, that's why I thought it was like Sharon Waxman
at the Rap who I you know, I do read
her stuff and I respect what she does there.
Speaker 1 (41:36):
But she put out a tweet a thread of like
I've spoken.
Speaker 2 (41:40):
To some Hollywood power players and former power brokers, and.
Speaker 1 (41:44):
This is how they feel about the whole situation. They
think that Paramount's way to.
Speaker 2 (41:48):
Go because of what might happen here with some of
the residuals and some of the money and the salaries
of these people and other And I'm like, you pulled
a bunch of people who also fucked over creatives throughout
their careers, also paid them less. Also was part of
the problem with going with non union actors. Remember that
was like a few years ago. It was it was
(42:10):
sacrilege to use non union actors. But a few years
ago it started to turn where seventy to eighty percent
of your cast were non union actors because producers and
studios and movie movie production companies wanted to save money
with their casting, and so that started to happen. You
didn't see those producers being like, well, don't do that,
(42:31):
stop doing that. No, they all went along with it
because they were getting more money by paying the actors
less or having less union actors on set.
Speaker 1 (42:39):
So no one's clean. And it was to make a
judgment call here, no no.
Speaker 3 (42:43):
Because the worst part of that was specifically it was
less in TV movies because sag ended up being up
their ass. It was more with commercials. Right, is actually
how a lot of actors made that. Like again they
don't get rich, but that's how they make like a
solid living. Is that the commercial game was where you
would do.
Speaker 1 (43:01):
You would you could easily.
Speaker 3 (43:02):
Clear like three or four commercials, pull like you know,
eighty to one hundred off of that and live like
a comfortable like life. But you also got to remember
you're like in La, so who knows how far that
was going.
Speaker 1 (43:13):
To go one way or the other. Right.
Speaker 3 (43:14):
Yeah, all that being said, all of a sudden, the
massive switch happened, I want to say, around like twenty sixteen,
twenty seventeen. Yeah, and he's not lost on me where
all of a sudden, a lot of these agencies started
making all the commercials non union. So one of the
biggest campaigns that I did, which I was honored to do,
(43:35):
but it was the last thing I did non union wise,
was this ad campaign for twenty three and me.
Speaker 1 (43:41):
And like the thing.
Speaker 3 (43:42):
About that commercial, that commercial was everywhere I was getting
phone calls non fucking bro I just saw your ass
like blah blah blah. I think the craziest part that
got me well, the fucking broke. I was on a
bit the the biggest like central billboard in Times Square,
the little centerpiece that you see when you're walking on
the thing. I was on there constantly. It was rotating
(44:03):
me out for six months. Amazing roka. I made a
whopping total. Again, this is gross, not net, after TAXI
paying a team. I made a gross for that whole
a gross for that whole thing for nine K. And
they ran that shit for two years. I was in
Times Square on a billboard for six months and they
(44:25):
ran those commercials for two years. That is the type
of shit that they do with that non union stuff.
And that's why when people were like, you know, it
seems like SAG doesn't always do a lot. SAG has
its issues, but like most other things, there's a plus
and minus to everything, and that's why having union actors
and writers and things like that, those protections are in
place so you're not getting taken advantage of it and
you get to use my face freely for two fucking
(44:48):
years exactly.
Speaker 2 (44:49):
Yeah, And that's the because I yeah, campaign like that
would normally, even with non union, would normally pay you
twenty thirty forty depending on the situation, maybe even a
little bit more.
Speaker 3 (45:00):
And so to be on the billboard that long, is
it like to that point that by itself would have
been worth like about fifty k. Yeah, just that, like
not even all of the shit that it was running
on team Like it was so crazy because I was
like the commercials were playing during NBA games, It was
playing during during like March Madness games. Yeah, it was
(45:22):
playing during like hockey and NFL games. But again it
was a non union commercial, so they could run that
shit as much as.
Speaker 1 (45:27):
They what did Yeah exactly, Yeah exactly, And it.
Speaker 2 (45:30):
Was the company that was recouping all the all the
benefit and paying you nothing. And that's what you see
in these things. It's it's constant. So any any producer
or power broker, even even Christopher Nolan and the DGA
going to express their issues. Shall I show you the
number of directors that have gone to work for Netflix,
Giamo dec Toro, who I called out on Twitter, Catherine
(45:52):
Bigelow this year, Ryan Johnson, There are so many, Jay Bayona,
There are so many directors that have gone and done
stre movies for other for streaming services, specifically Netflix, that
are also out of here being like, what movies need
to be shown in the theaters.
Speaker 1 (46:07):
You can't have it both ways.
Speaker 2 (46:09):
You can't have it both ways because you're essentially saying
it's okay to go work for Netflix with their knowing
their theatrical windows are short, and then you want to
come up and be like, well, these movies should be so,
these movies should be in theater, so director, so Nolan,
the director is marching their way over to the law
to get upset at paramount, sorry, get upset at.
Speaker 1 (46:29):
Netflix or whatever. It's useless.
Speaker 2 (46:31):
It's nonsense because if some of your directors are coming
to work for my company, what the hell are you
complaining about? So to me, all of this stuff is posturing.
The WGA's statement, which is about as flaccid as it gets,
posturing SAG statement through sean astid flaccid, the DGA flaccid,
producers got flaccid. It all means nothing because people have
power in these positions and they know people want to
(46:54):
come work and put their projects on their airwaves. And
that's the situation you find yourself and what a bunch
of creatives are gonna be like, No, I won't do it, bullshit, Okay,
we'll find another one.
Speaker 1 (47:05):
It will. That's the game.
Speaker 3 (47:06):
Sadly, it's what's so weird about it, man, is like
the truth of the matter is is that we all
have to stick together because if you don't, that's where
this stuff all comes apart at the seams. But at
the same time, it's in such a bad place. I
sometimes look and then when someone's like I gotta secure
the bag, I'm like, I want to be mad with you,
(47:30):
but I can't even be mad with.
Speaker 1 (47:31):
You because it's like, right now, it's.
Speaker 3 (47:35):
It has gotten so bad that I'm just like, you
gotta do there's a level of like, shit, you gotta
do what you gotta do.
Speaker 1 (47:41):
Man like. But I but I really wished.
Speaker 3 (47:45):
That we had a little bit more solidarity to stick together.
And like, again, I will give credit once the strike ended,
things have gotten better consumers, but they're not.
Speaker 1 (47:55):
It's not perfect, Like.
Speaker 3 (47:57):
There's still there's still things that need to change, and
you do that's but that's the whole thing about negotiating.
You you did the best you could and then hope
to get more the next go round.
Speaker 1 (48:06):
But yeah, see, man, I mean.
Speaker 3 (48:08):
That's that's why I'm hardcore pulling for the ladies of
the w man because the league is also trying to
screw them over right now too. And you know, like
the last concession that they had was like the new
Supermax was like a million dollars, yes, but then they
were getting rid of like housing for players, which to
(48:29):
me is crazy because when you consider the speed at
which players get traded or let go in that league
in particular, it really and and because people are only
making so much your contract of I make eighty K
playing for the Dallas Wings, it's completely different in LA
(48:50):
or New York where just trying to find a place
to live, and to find a place to live quickly
and have then help you if you have a family,
is just not going because it's not just Okay, I
gotta pay my rent and put the security deposit down
or whatever it's.
Speaker 1 (49:04):
I gotta move my whole life. Yeah, you know what
I'm saying, cost of living and how do I make
that all square away? Exactly one? You know? And Angel
Reese was alluding to that.
Speaker 2 (49:16):
Caitlin Clark has spoken to it, and these negotiations, I
agree with you really important.
Speaker 1 (49:22):
And don't overlook the ladies of the NWSL.
Speaker 2 (49:25):
Who are also in a collective bargaining agreement for Trinity.
Rodman just had this very lucrative contract turned down by
the Commissioner of the NWSL, who is who says she's
trying to stop players from going overseas, but here she
turned down this contract, multimillion down the contract for Trinity
because she claimed it was going to create unfair advantages
(49:47):
and players were going to ask.
Speaker 1 (49:48):
For more money.
Speaker 2 (49:49):
Welcome to the fucking game, man, you want to play
in the game, don't say one thing and do the
other with the other side of your mouth, you know, yeah, the.
Speaker 3 (49:56):
The like, I'm is it a scenario of like what
the Dodgers did with like show Hay on some crazy
ship like that, because that because that was wild, because didn't.
Speaker 1 (50:05):
He technically make like a billion off of that over
like ten years.
Speaker 3 (50:09):
But they're like petting him like a dollar season so yeah,
and then they're just gonna eventually pay him out.
Speaker 1 (50:15):
Or some ship. Yeah yeah, the contract.
Speaker 3 (50:17):
Yeah, that is at the end so nuts to me,
which is crazy because you know, he got a lot
of gambling to due, so that's not hey allegedly allegedly
allegedly I love Otani. I'm I'm, I'm joshing, but like
I just yeah, oh lordy jesus, that's a.
Speaker 1 (50:37):
Whole hour, damn damn you Mergers. Well, let's move on
to this because I let's obviously we'll keep tabs on it.
Speaker 2 (50:47):
We'll see what's going on with that, so we will
be aware of because there's probably gonna be a lot
more drama out of something that. Like I said, it's
like a real Housewives of a Billionaires type situation before
this is all over, so we'll see.
Speaker 1 (51:00):
But let's move on to this.
Speaker 2 (51:01):
Man, let's talk a little let's talk a little nerdy shit.
Let's talk some James Gunn situation here. Apparently he is
coming to a decision for Man of.
Speaker 1 (51:10):
Tomorrow for Brainiac.
Speaker 2 (51:11):
Apparently, according to a number of places, he is close
to casting his Brainiac for this movie My Time to Shinellow.
One of my people says a cast decision for Brainik
is coming any day now. And we do have the
Supergirl trailer that is coming on Thursday Winston, probably at
six am or something like that.
Speaker 1 (51:30):
So will they release the name of the Brainiac?
Speaker 2 (51:34):
Sorry, what was the name of the actor playing Brainiac
before the trailer or at the same time as the
trailer or after the trailer?
Speaker 1 (51:40):
Are we all going to get that revealed in the trailer?
Speaker 2 (51:42):
That Brainiac may have a small part in the movie,
I don't know, but it's interesting to hear that it
might be coming soon.
Speaker 1 (51:47):
Here are the people who are apparently in Motionless. What
are your thoughts on this?
Speaker 2 (51:52):
Someone who I want to see and that's Dave Batista
because apparently the rumors say that someone he's worked with
for quite some time, Dave Batista would be interesting. That's
Smith is someone who they've looked at. Apparently it's in
the running. Sam Rockwell is in the running as well,
and Clays Bang, who some of you may know from
the first season of Bad Sisters on Apple TV, which
is great, the Affair the Northman Girl in the Spiders Web,
(52:15):
and also that Dracula show that he was a part
of as well, So an.
Speaker 1 (52:18):
Interesting cast of people. I'm leaning towards Batista, But what
do you think we're gonna go. We're gonna get announcement soon,
and who do you see playing the character of those
who just listed?
Speaker 3 (52:26):
Matt Smith is by far and away the best choice
in my opinion, just because I love Batista's acting. I
don't get brainy act from him. There's there's there's there's
other villains that I think he would he would do
great with if you just if he wants to take
his hand at being a villain. But I just it's
not to say that he can't be cerebral, but like
(52:47):
I just there there is a certain kind of cold,
calculated the fariousness that comes out of it. And there
was enough that I've seen in Matt Smith in like
House of the Drag and that that aligns for me.
I like Sam rock Wall as well, but he's a
little too blase fit. He's too cool, like I can't
(53:08):
separate him from him dancing in both Charlie's Angels and.
Speaker 1 (53:13):
In uh, you know, Iron Man, like I can't separate
his cool factor. Brainiac's not cool. Brainiac is a calculating
ass robot like like AI like I.
Speaker 3 (53:23):
I So Matt Smith is the one that, like just
based off of performances that I've seen, and I'm like, yeah,
now that that one works for me. And as far
as when they're gonna do it, I certainly hope that
we're not getting Brainiac in Supergirl, unless when if we're following,
if we're following you know, a Woman of Tomorrow, when
(53:44):
she speaks of losing Crypton, if we're sticking with the
idea that Brainiac was like a Kryptonian AI, because it's
there's a number of different ways that it's a different
AI that's just been going by and came along Krypton
at one point. There's also the it was a AI
of Krypton. There's a number of different ways that his
origin story has been told. If when she's reminiscing about Krypton,
(54:08):
Brainiac shows up there somewhere flashbacks, I'm sure, Yeah, I'm.
Speaker 1 (54:12):
Fine with that, but I don't.
Speaker 3 (54:13):
I really like the story of Woman to Tomorrow, and
I don't want to deviate too far from what the
original story is.
Speaker 1 (54:19):
Personally.
Speaker 2 (54:19):
Yeah, I like some of the comments from the people
who are watching this right now. Lee Pace would be great.
We've seen that a lot of people like lee Pace.
That's an interesting choice. My vote is Neil de grass
A Tyson for Breaking.
Speaker 1 (54:34):
No, he's he's I like Neili grass Tyson, but no, yeah, yeah,
so much of a goober.
Speaker 3 (54:42):
Dave Batista for Hugo Strange. Maybe I actually could potentially
see that. I don't hate that. I know he doesn't
want to play all like giant big people, because my
idea would be having him as like say.
Speaker 1 (54:52):
Killer croc oh exactly be interesting, yeah, or if you're
gonna or if you're gonna. I don't think. I know
he doesn't want to stay that big anymore. He's he's
really shrunk down.
Speaker 3 (55:02):
It would have been a great Bane, like like if
you're if you, He would have been a fantastic Bane.
Speaker 1 (55:06):
But I know he's done being that big. Yeah, there's a.
Speaker 2 (55:09):
Lot of work Princess posits and Batista's dark side would
be cool.
Speaker 1 (55:13):
I could think he would crush dark Side. I think
he would absolutely crush dark Side, my quiet, brooding energy.
It would he would be fantastic.
Speaker 3 (55:22):
In that take him in Dune, him and that knock
at the door and him as as Draxy put it
together and there's your dark Side.
Speaker 1 (55:31):
I think he would crush that. Yeah, yeah, agreed.
Speaker 2 (55:34):
Someone said Jeremy strong For would also be good interesting
choice as well.
Speaker 1 (55:39):
Uh so, yeah, it could be a number.
Speaker 2 (55:41):
Of names, but I think we are going to get
something because also we should move over to this Winston,
what were your thoughts on the first ten seconds?
Speaker 1 (55:46):
We had a the ten second teaser.
Speaker 2 (55:48):
I know, a thought to tell from ten seconds, but
we did get a taste of a little bit of
what we might be seeing here in this movie. With
the trailer coming on Thursday. What were your thoughts on
the ten seconds of Supergirl stuff that we got.
Speaker 3 (56:00):
I mean, I thought it was great. I just still
it's funny, man. I still just stand by the fact that, like,
I think Millie is a great actress, and I like
what she did with with Kara in her little bit
in Supergirl. I just she just doesn't look like Supergirl.
I don't I can't put my finger on it. I'm
(56:21):
not saying that she's not a badass.
Speaker 1 (56:23):
She is. I'm not saying that she's not a good actress.
She is.
Speaker 3 (56:26):
I just when I look at her and then I
look at like any drawing iteration I've ever seen of Supergirl,
I'm just like, no, like you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 1 (56:37):
And again, she'd come out here and crush it.
Speaker 3 (56:40):
I said the same thing about Heath Ledger, and mind you,
that's a lot more makeup in that scenario to kind
of change that up, and the acting may be more
than enough to make me completely forget it and rewrite
what I see out of it. And it's it's like
she brings the right attitude because again, this Carra has
is not the bubble sunshine. You know, Superman's cousin, a
(57:04):
Superman's cousin, but bro, she seemed the dark side of
the universe, and so like it that that energy that
she brings is a hundred percent spot on.
Speaker 1 (57:15):
Yeah, but.
Speaker 3 (57:18):
She would need to go blonde, and I think she's
a little older for it now. But like I think
back to like Mary Elizabeth Winstead, what it is like, Oh,
give me that kind of vibe of like the look
and everything else like that, you know. But but I
think Milly will do fantastic. I can't wait to see
what she does with it. That's that's I'm just saying
from a look standpoint.
Speaker 1 (57:38):
Yeah, yeah, it was me off a little bit. I
like the ten seconds and excited me. I like that
she's got this.
Speaker 2 (57:43):
I like the attitude that she hasked with a Supergirl exactly,
you know, that kind of like young girl attitude and
can handle her shit and doesn't put too much stock
and stuff. And the log line I think came out
for the movie. I'm gonna see if I can pull
this up here, if I can find it real quick.
But apparently it was a part of this thing for Supergirl.
Speaker 1 (58:08):
Uh, okay, I think this might be it? Is this it? Yeah?
The trailer they're talking about the trail. Okay, the trailer.
Speaker 2 (58:15):
I'm not going to read that because some people, some
people are spoiling the trailer because the trailer was shown
in New York at a special event.
Speaker 1 (58:22):
Some people were flown in. So I'm not going to
read the trailer. People should discover that on their own.
But I thought, okay, here we go.
Speaker 3 (58:29):
Is this it?
Speaker 1 (58:30):
The log line? Yeah? To get okay.
Speaker 2 (58:33):
So when an unexpected and ruthless enemy threatens, carraz Orel
is forced against her will to team up with an
unlikely companion.
Speaker 1 (58:41):
I'm sure that's Lobo. Together they embark on an epic
cosmic journey where revenge and justice or at stake, and
where Kara must confront her origins to find her own
path as a hero. It's it's not Lobo, it's Ruthie.
Speaker 3 (58:55):
Yeah, Ruthie ruth because that's that's what sets are on
for those that don't know, it's it.
Speaker 1 (59:00):
It's the first page of the book.
Speaker 3 (59:02):
A young a young alien girl's father is killed and
Supergirl ultimately ends up helping her, So that that's who
the unusual companion is. I'm curious because I wonder if Lobo,
the way that Jason has brought into it is if
there's a replacement of like the gang that is sheltering
the main villain, If Lobo maybe is like working with
(59:24):
and that's the alternate way that they go about it. Yeah,
or maybe if not that, then maybe Lobo has a
bounty on this dude too, and it's a race to
see who gets revenge first. I could see them altering
it that way as well.
Speaker 2 (59:37):
Yeah, yeah, we will see for sure when this all
all pans out, so we'll find out.
Speaker 1 (59:43):
All right, Well, I think we should move on.
Speaker 2 (59:46):
We're running out of time here when we got half
an hour left on the show, So let's let's move
on to the NFL stuff. NFL Week fourteen happened over
the weekend. Man, the playoff positionings or positions are moving
all around, bro, It's an interesting situation. We start out
with the Lions destroying your Cowboys on Thursday and kind
(01:00:06):
of maybe messing once again with the Cowboys and people's
predictions they might make the Super Bowl. But then the
Seahawks destroyed the falcons of Sam Darnold. Now ten wins
for those Seahawks. The Bills outlasted the Bengals in the
game of the weekend in my opinion, there and the
snow was amazing. The Titans beat the Browns, although Chador
looked damn good three hundred.
Speaker 1 (01:00:24):
And something yards.
Speaker 2 (01:00:26):
The Vikings crushed my commanders, who should just stop playing
any games for the rest of the season.
Speaker 1 (01:00:30):
The Dolphins crushed the Jets the same wait wait wait
wait wait it was a shutout which one yeah, thirty
one to nothing thirty one, my god, no nothing, and
we lost Jadon Daniels to injury again in the third quarter.
What happened to him?
Speaker 2 (01:00:44):
His same elbow, the same elbow. He tried to brace
himself again and hurt his fucking elbow again. Never put
him back in Yeah, yeah, right, Chador.
Speaker 1 (01:00:53):
Sorry.
Speaker 2 (01:00:53):
Dolphins beat the Jet thirty four to ten, the Buccaneers
twenty four to twenty, shocking the Buccaneers there. The Saints
did rather sat shocking the Buccaneers. The Jaguars crushed the
Colts and they lost Daniel Jones to an achilles heel injury.
The Steelers beat the Ravens in a shocking win there
with Aaron Rodgers coming back in Tomlin. Now they're in
first place in the division. The Broncos beat the Raiders.
(01:01:15):
The Packers beat the Bears in the division to take
first place in the entire conference. The Rams crushed the Cardinals,
the Texans beat the Chiefs and the Chiefs store of
life support of playoffs, and then the Chargers shocked the
Eagles last night twenty two to nineteen. So, Winston, what
stories pop out at you? And please feel free to
weave in the Philip Rivers story as well.
Speaker 3 (01:01:36):
I mean that's gonna be the one. Is the Colts Jaguars.
Daniel Jones goes down on an achille. It's non contact injury.
You see it happen. It's pretty brutal because you can
tell right away. And then he's limping. And I'll give
him credit the fact that he tried to one up
on Kobe, Like no one, nothing will ever beat Kobe
(01:01:57):
doing those free throws after tearing his achille. But like
where before, like Kobe like walked over did that and
then it kind of got helped out. Daniel was over
here kind of limping on his own, like he did
have some help to get to the sideline, but then
was kind of walking.
Speaker 1 (01:02:11):
On his own.
Speaker 3 (01:02:12):
After the fact, Achilles is gone. So what are the
Colts do? Well, they put in their backup. Their backup
gets hurt. Now his knee is fed up.
Speaker 1 (01:02:19):
So what do they do after that?
Speaker 3 (01:02:21):
They go and call the last major franchise quarterback that
was in their building and they get Philip Rivers to
unretire after five years of being the man is a
semi finalist right now for the Hall of Fame. By
he officially signed to the practice squad, which I think
(01:02:41):
from that point forward means that he's gonna like they'll
they're they're planning on putting him in eventually. And if
that's the case, not only a would that then make
him the oldest active player in the NFL.
Speaker 1 (01:02:53):
I think that means that because what how old was
Brady when he ultimately retired. I think he was forty
seven or forty eight when he tired. No way, there's
no way Brady's that all forty two. I think he
might have been forty two. I think, okay, because he's
now forty five, forty six or forty four when here.
Speaker 3 (01:03:10):
So he'll see he won't he won't passes the oldest
quarterback to be playing.
Speaker 1 (01:03:14):
But he retired at forty five. Brady retired from the
NFL at forty five. But this, this is about to
just be ridiculous because the funniest.
Speaker 3 (01:03:28):
Joke I saw with someone was like, that's this motherfucker
was just tired to be in the house with all
them damn kids.
Speaker 1 (01:03:32):
He's got eleven kids. He's just tired to be in
the house with all them damn kids.
Speaker 3 (01:03:37):
So he was like, I gotta go do something, and
he decided to go and say sure, I'll go because
I guess he's been coaching. I don't remember if it's
college or high school, but he's been coaching. So he's
been working out with his players. So people were like, well,
he's still throwing the ball and he's still working out,
maybe not as hard as he was before, but they're like,
they're like, still kind of got it, so they're gonna
(01:03:57):
let him play. I don't want I'm just gonna say this,
and I'm not wishing this at all, but I'm genuinely concerned.
I was very disturbed like most people when Damar Hamlin
died on the field.
Speaker 1 (01:04:11):
Oh yeah, right.
Speaker 3 (01:04:12):
I genuinely don't necessarily want to see this because Philip
Rivers at forty four, having not played for the last
four years, that first hit. Look at how Aaron Rodgers
is flinching right now.
Speaker 1 (01:04:24):
I know you're right.
Speaker 3 (01:04:26):
I am genuinely worried about Philip rivers Is safety. Yeah,
as far as this all goes, now, if he comes
out and if he does the impossible, I feel like
if he comes in, Jonathan Taylor gets right, he somehow
pulls a Peyton Manning and like helps the team just
kind of coast through and win a super Bowl because
(01:04:46):
that last paint manning super Bowl, he didn't win that.
Speaker 1 (01:04:49):
He just made sure they didn't lose it. That defense
won that if.
Speaker 3 (01:04:52):
The rest of the team and he's just the lynch
pin to keep the wheels from falling off, I feel
like you got to make an exception to the rule
and just let him into the Hall of Fame immediately,
because it's like, Bro, you came out of retirement, won
a super Bowl and then like and then we were tiring. Like, Bro,
that's that's some like replacements level shit where you got
Shane Falco to come in and just hold the team
(01:05:13):
together long enough so that they can go to the
they could go to the playoffs.
Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
Ye, this feels an go one of two ways, which
is one, it's an incredible story that becomes a Hollywood
movie that Philip Rivers finally wins his super Bowl coming
back after five years of not playing.
Speaker 3 (01:05:28):
Given an MVP, if he if he if he does
this in four games, if in four games he gets
them right, gets in the number one seed, and then
like it leads him on a playoff runt.
Speaker 1 (01:05:36):
Do you go ooh, sorry about that?
Speaker 3 (01:05:39):
Uh? Who was bawling out this year? I mean John
the Taylor was for a minute. It's open Matt staff Sorry,
Matt Stafford, bro you kept playing. Boy, came in here
and did this shit older than you and broken down
and somehow won it all.
Speaker 1 (01:05:51):
That would be amazing.
Speaker 2 (01:05:52):
But or this goes really badly, where like someone breaks
off and just absolutely creams him. It's not like the
Colts o line is that strong and you got people
like that are the massive guys, and you haven't played
in five years.
Speaker 3 (01:06:08):
Those guys have got and this is Roca. These are
the teams that they're playing. He screwed. They play Seattle
this weekend, they play San Francisco. It's at Seattle.
Speaker 1 (01:06:24):
Oh god. Then they get then into town comes the
forty nine Ers. Yep.
Speaker 3 (01:06:30):
Then they play the Jags, who just beat the shit
out of them and led to two of their quarterbacks
getting injured, even though again one was on contact. The
Danigels is on contact. And then you finish with the
greatest defense in the league, in the Texans. This is
if he come in for the stretch of like, hey,
you're gonna play like.
Speaker 1 (01:06:50):
The Raiders.
Speaker 3 (01:06:52):
Yeah, the Cardinals, the Chargers into the Tennessee Titans. I'd
be like I bet, come on, man, you can do this.
This is literally the worst four set of games that
he could possibly play right now.
Speaker 1 (01:07:07):
Yeah, it's a.
Speaker 2 (01:07:08):
Crazy situation because right now I don't see any team
in the AFC dropping out of playoff contention except the Colts.
Like I think the Broncos, the Patriots, the Jags, I
do think the Steelers, the Chargers, and I think definitely
the Texans, who look like the dark horse candidate in
a half are all locked in. And the Bills, of course,
(01:07:30):
so it's one.
Speaker 1 (01:07:31):
I think the Colts.
Speaker 2 (01:07:32):
One is up for grabs between the Ravens and the
Chiefs to go get that position, to go get that
fucking shot, unless unless somehow Philip Rivers can hold off
all this stuff and they get victories here. But this
is where we're at with this situation that it's got
a lot of twists and turns to see if it's
going to go out the way it is. But you
(01:07:52):
point out so, well, it's a murderer's row that he's
got to play here to finish out the year. And
these guys, look, these guys want to get the playoffs,
like you're playing playoff teams, so they want to fight
for their seating.
Speaker 1 (01:08:04):
You're gonna get smacked around that game.
Speaker 3 (01:08:06):
Man.
Speaker 1 (01:08:06):
It's gonna be a interesting how he reacts to all
of it, you know.
Speaker 3 (01:08:09):
Well, yeah, And the funny thing is, so he won't
pass Brady for the oldest NFL quarterback to start, because,
like you said, Brady retire at forty five. He turned
forty four yesterday, right, Philip Rivers did, so he, like you, like,
there's no world where he goes beyond this year. I
would it doesn't make any sense, but he'll be tied
for second with Steve de Berg, Vinnie Testa Verdi, and
(01:08:29):
Warren Moon. But it's not like that in those moments
in their forty fourth year, they were doing anything super great,
you know what I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (01:08:36):
So I'm enough to remember every one of those players
playing as a starter, including Steve de.
Speaker 3 (01:08:41):
Berg, right right, Like the oldest active players right now
are Aaron Rodgers, Mercedes Lewis, Nick Folk, Matt Prater, and
Joe Flacco, And how are all of them doing right now? So, like,
I just don't believe that a forty four year old
Philip Rivers, who hasn't been playing at an NFL level,
is going to do all that and someone even joked
about the idea, Oh Brady wasn't even the number one.
(01:09:01):
I take that the oldest NFL players, This is quarterbacks
or NFL players. But the last little part, someone was like, bro,
with those eleven kids, he's actually a grandfather. He has
a grandfather. About that, you want to go see Pop
Pop play football at the NFL.
Speaker 1 (01:09:17):
Like, God, damn, it's so true. It's so true.
Speaker 2 (01:09:22):
It's gonna be interesting to see what happens with that
or any other stories from the from the games.
Speaker 1 (01:09:28):
I mean, I think the bill Eagles, the Eagle, the
Eagles man, that's some trouble.
Speaker 3 (01:09:34):
Told you, where is L Boogie? Where is l all
these Eagles fans? I fucking told you it's not over
until it's over. But how many times did I have
to say there is a problem. You look like the
twenty twenty three version of yourself, where yes, you started
(01:09:56):
off strong with we won ten eleven year, but you
were barely winning them, and then when you got to
the playoffs, you got embarrassed. The fact that Jalen Hurts
just set a record, it was history of the making
to throw an interception and fumble the ball in the
(01:10:17):
same play. He threw an interception, someone knocked the ball
to the hand, he picked it up and then refumbled
it and lost the ball there too. If I'm not mistaken,
he got docked double lost points for that. There was
even somebody that posted all I needed was for Jalen
Hurts to put up two point five points for me
(01:10:39):
to make it to the playoffs, and he ended up
in that last interception that he threw.
Speaker 1 (01:10:44):
At the end of the game with two point four.
Speaker 3 (01:10:47):
That is insane, And so I just I'm trying to
tell you, I think, above all else, we are seeing
the truth about Jalen Hurts.
Speaker 1 (01:10:56):
I like him as a person. I think as a
person he is awesome.
Speaker 3 (01:11:00):
Some these coordinators were really kind of making him because
Kevin Moore was setting him up in ways that made
him look like a rock star when he needed to
be a rock star. But now that he actually needs
to be doing the reeds himself and making the adjustments
he can't do because a lot of those interceptions. Yeah,
you're like, what were you looking at? You were you
(01:11:22):
were tracking the same dude the whole time, and you
didn't see a d lineman dropping the coverage to get
it into a d Lineman bro He's just he's not
the one, but not the one.
Speaker 2 (01:11:36):
When he's here's the footsteps, you can start to see
those those legs start to get crazy and then he
starts throwing balls that are dangerous. And that interception he
threw at the end, that was I mean, he threw
some really nice balls to AJ in the last few
minutes of the fourth quarter overtime, but then uh and
DeVante but it's not U. But like that interception he
(01:11:59):
threw was kind of with all the pressure coming down
and he just threw it and did not see that
the dB was going to pull off the tight end
to get that deflection and get the interception. Good quarterbacks
know how to freeze the dB from making that move
before they throw the ball.
Speaker 1 (01:12:13):
I agree, I agree.
Speaker 3 (01:12:15):
I mean the one that people are saying that it
was AJ's fault, the high ball that he could have gotten,
Oh yeah, blame but I don't blame AJ for that.
That's that's a ball where you throw that low so
the receiver can defend himself. You left him completely defenseless.
And what just happened to your tight end and this
guy that was a former Eagle that it make that
(01:12:36):
makes me so sad that that is most likely how
zach Ertz his career will end, because that was that
you put. You put it so high up he was
about to get crushed and AJ could sense it and
flinched because I'm sure he saw that play yesterday.
Speaker 1 (01:12:52):
There's no way that players and receivers don't see that.
Speaker 3 (01:12:54):
Shouldn't go oh Jesus, So like, yeah, I know he's
getting paid thirty two million. I'm not like, even if
I am, I am not putting myself in a position
because again, that hit that's coming, he is fully extended up.
Speaker 1 (01:13:07):
That means he's getting hit at the knees mid air.
Speaker 3 (01:13:09):
That is literally your career is gone, and if not
your career, you're walking with a guaranteed personal limb for
the rest of your life.
Speaker 1 (01:13:18):
I do not blame him.
Speaker 3 (01:13:19):
The quarterback needs to put that in a safe position
for him to be able, like he can still go
for it, but can protect himself, Like quarterbacks get cussed
out for that shit. Yeah, So I don't put that
one as much on AJ, just from the standpoint of
like I would like to play this game for more
than this game exactly.
Speaker 1 (01:13:36):
Yeah, And look, AD has had an issue with Jalen hospitable,
that's what they call it. They called hospital. You know,
Adrian's had an issue with Jaalen the whole year.
Speaker 2 (01:13:44):
He's made his comments clear, and so in that moment,
I think, you know, AJ was about self preservation and
he'll get other bites of the apple, and he did
when when Jalen after that that throw, Jalen threw him
some really great passes and he was able to catch
them all and most of them except for that touchdown,
that was a beautiful throw as well, So there were
possibilities there. So you know, he was self pres preserving himself,
(01:14:08):
and I think is nothing wrong with that. You want
to keep playing the game, right, going up for one
catch and it knocks you out for the game, possibly
the season because you got your ribs crunched or whatever.
As we saw with zach Ertz his knee absolutely smashed.
That's not what you want to do off one play.
Speaker 1 (01:14:22):
So I don't fault any receiver nowadays for doing that
kind of shick.
Speaker 3 (01:14:26):
So you got there were other balls that that Aj
I Seel Boogie talking about that AJ should have caught,
and I agree with that that that I'm not denying.
In the same way that I was mad with Pickens
where it seems like he just took his foot off
the gas all of a sudden.
Speaker 1 (01:14:39):
Yeah, once he got hurt.
Speaker 3 (01:14:40):
I am not denying that that there are things that
AJ could have done better, But that particular ball which
led to an interception, that was a hospital ball, and
I do not blame him for seeing that and going
I'm not doing that right right, Okay, I got thirty
two million dollars so I could sit up and waste
it and all on getting surgeries on my leg and
then I'm stuck in the house and ship. No.
Speaker 1 (01:15:02):
Yeah, that zach Ertz one was horrific. I was gonna
play it.
Speaker 3 (01:15:06):
I'm like, I just genuinely like Earth's was talking about,
this was his last Yeah, this was his last season.
To think that that genuinely, I see somebody else said
it that that was his last play ever playing football.
Speaker 1 (01:15:21):
That's that's heartbreaking. Yeah, I know.
Speaker 2 (01:15:25):
It's a shame because he was such a star for
US last year. He was such a star for US
last year.
Speaker 1 (01:15:29):
It's so true. All right, Well, we gotta wrap up.
Let's get to the questions when Sam's run through these
as quick as we can. Thank you. Everybody who's watching
us right now.
Speaker 2 (01:15:36):
Reggie Brown says in my Stepe one of Voice, happy
birthday too, Yeah and fire Kevin Stefanski, I mean, dude.
Speaker 1 (01:15:45):
Door looked good.
Speaker 3 (01:15:46):
Bro.
Speaker 2 (01:15:47):
You know me, I've haven't been in that camp, but
you can't deny he looked damn good throwing that ball.
I tried to tell you, baby, three touchdowns, damn than guys,
some more playing time.
Speaker 1 (01:15:58):
Let's see what's up. He's got a for the rest
of the season.
Speaker 2 (01:16:01):
That's true, that boy, Thank you, that boy for the superstick.
I really appreciate that man. Wiley up in ears well,
happy Beda Winston.
Speaker 1 (01:16:07):
There you go, brok.
Speaker 2 (01:16:09):
Have you watched The Rock in Brendan Fraser's Actors on
Actors Shit, No, I have not, but I've seen clips,
really sweet clips. I just I gotta be honest with you.
Speaker 1 (01:16:16):
I don't know how much I buy the Rocks act
right now. The humility, the soft speaking, the really appreciative.
Speaker 2 (01:16:22):
I don't know how much of that I buy right now,
and how much of that is pr because of the
lumps he's taken recently with his egotistical move So I'm
still kind of warming up to that. So I will
watch it because I love Brendan and I loved Rental Family.
Highly recommend people see that movie that. Yeah, so I
will watch it eventually, but yeah, you haven't seen it
(01:16:42):
every Winston.
Speaker 1 (01:16:45):
Yeah.
Speaker 2 (01:16:46):
Chris Corcoran says, I'm worried about Ellison's blacklist of actors
he considers anti Semitic. Yeah, we didn't even mention that,
which here means anyone pro Palestine. He's literally friends with
net yahou.
Speaker 1 (01:16:56):
Yep, yep, yep. That's a fair boy. Yep.
Speaker 3 (01:16:58):
That's a whole dish level of just not of of
how he is operating and that that's That's what I'm saying,
is that he is he is fully.
Speaker 1 (01:17:10):
In that and is not hiding it. Yeah. So yeah,
I mean there's a hypocrisy there where you're you're.
Speaker 2 (01:17:16):
Like, well, as Maga Republicans, we can't make a living
in Hollywood, and then you're gonna be like, well, if
you don't have a political point with the grooves of mind,
you don't get to work in my studio.
Speaker 1 (01:17:25):
That's fucking stupid. That is fucking stupid and hypocritical as fuck. Yeah,
who says that they can't work in Hollywood? I mean
that was that was what.
Speaker 3 (01:17:35):
Uh, Zachary Levi has been saying, he's like two movies
coming out, Like what are we talking about?
Speaker 1 (01:17:41):
And Zach, no one goes to see your movies. You
work in Hollywood.
Speaker 2 (01:17:44):
I people want to see you movies, right, I mean Fraser,
Kelsey Grammar's a hardcore he would worked for quite a
lot of time.
Speaker 1 (01:17:49):
Tim Allen, it's got a new sitcom.
Speaker 3 (01:17:52):
Where Kelsey Grammar's uh Macca, Oh, he's came out this
over the weekend and said that Trump is the greatest
president of the country's ever had.
Speaker 1 (01:18:00):
Yeah he's been, Yeah, he's been. He's been a Trump
guy for a while. You know, wow, yeah, yeah, you
know that. I mean he played Frasier. I'm not surprised,
but like I just I did. I don't know, I know,
I know, Uh, Matt SI's and McCall says, NFL player
(01:18:20):
that drove you nuts.
Speaker 2 (01:18:21):
It can't be over character. But because they're great and
always causing problems for a team. You're rooting for Von
Miller for me.
Speaker 1 (01:18:27):
Oh, NFL player that drove me nuts.
Speaker 2 (01:18:30):
Oh Deon Sanders when he played for the fucking Redskins
when we were the Redskins. That son of a bitch
stole eight million dollars from us to fuck around for
a year of football, and he never returned the money.
He stole eight million dollars from us to just mess
around and play a year of football. Is disgusting and
I'll hate him forever.
Speaker 3 (01:18:46):
Cowboy, he was still a cowboy baby. Yeah yeah, hey man,
that's why you don't hire people within the division.
Speaker 1 (01:18:54):
What are you doing? I know it was ridiculous.
Speaker 3 (01:18:57):
Oh.
Speaker 1 (01:18:57):
Don McNabb was another one. Oh who did I who did?
I hate? It can't be over a character.
Speaker 3 (01:19:03):
I mean, honestly, shady Sean McCoy, bro, he was just
just just dancing all over us all the time.
Speaker 1 (01:19:10):
I hated him. I think he's funny now as like
an analyst. He drives. He annoys me the way.
Speaker 3 (01:19:15):
He capes for the Eagle, Like he was drunken ship
last night on Speakeasy and he was going he was
still defending the Eagles when there was nothing to defend.
Speaker 1 (01:19:22):
But maybe he means like a player that was so
good that was messing with your team. That's what I
meant that, That's what I meant.
Speaker 2 (01:19:31):
Okay, okay, yeah, so let me let me reiterate, because
I was talking about someone irritated me.
Speaker 1 (01:19:36):
Oh Jesus, was there anyone? I mean Lawrence Taylor, because
I remember back in the day that's I hated Lawrence.
He was always he was always a beast against my
skins back in the old days. Man Tom Brady, Yeah, Brady.
Everyone hated Brady, especially as the Cowboys.
Speaker 3 (01:19:52):
We beat him one time, and that was the last
game that I don't think it was the last when
he played, but it was.
Speaker 1 (01:19:58):
It was the last. It was the retirement game that
we retired as ass finally beat him. Uh, Michael Miles,
Thank you, Michael. He says.
Speaker 2 (01:20:07):
Those texts read to me as Larry putting pressure on
David to close the deal, and David is unraveling because
I believe this is a test to see if he's
capable enough to succeed him. This is straight out of Successions.
Speaker 1 (01:20:18):
Yeah, yeah, probably. Yeah. That show is hilarious. That show
is much more truth than people want to accept. Shut up.
Speaker 2 (01:20:26):
Ralph says, hey, y'all be careful out there. It's a
dangerous world. I almost got kidnapped by seaman demon on thirst.
Speaker 1 (01:20:33):
Not a seaman demon, a seman demon.
Speaker 3 (01:20:36):
That was the funniest line maybe in all of movies
this year because it was so earnest and so concerned.
Speaker 1 (01:20:44):
Yeah, I was.
Speaker 3 (01:20:45):
I was almost taken over by this. This even a
seman demon like like he meant that ship.
Speaker 2 (01:20:51):
So because because for those of you who don't know,
that's that actor is Jim Downey who wrote on SNL
for three decades and there's a documentary on him on
NBC Peacock. If you think that line was funny, watch
that documentary.
Speaker 1 (01:21:03):
He's a very funny guy.
Speaker 2 (01:21:05):
Frand Has three fourteen says Ellison's be like Sheriff you
forte justice ain't no way, no way You're gonna come
from my loins, dads and their disappointing sons upon time.
Speaker 1 (01:21:18):
Let's too ram band uh Vezwana.
Speaker 2 (01:21:24):
Three sixteen is whoever is the Democratic president needs to
look at the Roosevelt Playbook and shadow the fuck out
of these monopolies.
Speaker 1 (01:21:30):
There has to be something better. Oh, I don't disagree.
How do you shadow a monopoly? Though? Aftering merds for
a certain period of time.
Speaker 2 (01:21:37):
At the time when Teddy did it, he was able
to use the courts and the and him being in power,
his party being in power to pass legislation that shattered
like US Steel and Standard Oil. I think it was,
and he would show up as picket lines. Uh, the President,
he would show up there. So I mean there's possibilities.
But it's a different world out there now. Yeah, masters
(01:22:00):
best show on TV? I love Blackbird and Pluribus. Yeah,
Purbus is great. I haven't started Plurabus yet. I don't
know what's your best show on TV?
Speaker 1 (01:22:12):
Man right now?
Speaker 3 (01:22:16):
I get right now, I guess Stranger Things, yeah, right now?
Because I because I because because obviously there's been a
lot that have gone on throughout the year. But I'd
have to sit and think about the sum total of
all of the shows on the year, Like I'm doing
a breakdown of my top media of the year. Uh,
I could do a couple of videos. It's a little
tease for the promo later. But I but yeah, I
(01:22:40):
I don't know Stranger Things currently.
Speaker 1 (01:22:43):
I would say that I would agree with that. Uh,
shut up? Rows is Hugo Weaving is my brainiac or
Chu of course Hugo Weaving. Yeah, Hugo he be interesting.
Mister super mister Superman. It could be Kalil, the last
(01:23:06):
son of Krypton. You see what I did to your planet?
Speaker 2 (01:23:11):
Uh, Christer Leo two says the game awards are in
two days, and a good leaker has come out and
said we were getting a Star Wars game with the
Old Republic in the name your thoughts, I'd be great.
Speaker 1 (01:23:24):
I think people very Are they doing a Kotor remake
or what's what's going on? I'm curious.
Speaker 2 (01:23:28):
Hey, I should ask Kevin Simets and see what he
thinks about that situation, because I know he'd be really
excited to see that.
Speaker 1 (01:23:34):
Yeah. I wouldn't be surprised if they opened the door
of the Old Republic. They need to go somewhere. I
have too.
Speaker 2 (01:23:39):
For Like, as Miami elects the first Democratic mayor in
thirty years, Wow, wow that happened tonight.
Speaker 1 (01:23:45):
Wow. Okay, good for them, there you go.
Speaker 2 (01:23:48):
Hell yeah, so much winning, Yeah, Democratics and a thirty
year losing streak as Miami. In Miami, as a Trump
back candidate falls short to Democratic Eileen Higgins, who is
now he repeated, she defeated Republican Emidia Gonzales.
Speaker 3 (01:24:05):
And she is now the mayor of Miami. Damn respect right, dude,
I mean what? And then Tennessee last week barely the
Republican barely squeaked out in a district that was very
Trump happy. Look, man, there's again the reason the big push.
You got to try and like I did that video
(01:24:26):
you sent me. I'm surprised we didn'tend up covering it.
But the idea of trying to get a control of
CNN before the primaries.
Speaker 1 (01:24:32):
Right right, We unfortunately were out of time.
Speaker 2 (01:24:35):
Then Christophreo two says they are also going to announce
a new two Major game with the Game Awards. Thoughts
have you all ever played or seen those two Major
games and movies? I played a lot of Two Major games.
One of my ex girl friends way back in the
old days, Jamie Jean, she was a massive Tom Mader fan,
so we would play. We would got We bought the
new two Mader game and sat there all weekend and
(01:24:55):
played it until we won it. So yeah, she was
a big, big person. So I like those games. They're fun.
Speaker 3 (01:25:02):
Uh. The only one I played was the the remake
kind of Launched one where like she's shipwrecked and then
she's like hiding from pilates and shit on the island.
Speaker 1 (01:25:13):
Played that the more recent that Retelling Origin story. I didn't.
Speaker 3 (01:25:17):
Yeah, I played random levels of the original games because
I didn't have a PlayStation. I did a Nintendo sixty four,
so it would be when I went over a friend's house, right.
Speaker 1 (01:25:25):
Right, Yeah, those are good games. The movies.
Speaker 2 (01:25:29):
Jared j a forty six remake of Tom Hanks classics
The Burbs is happening in Peacock as a series saw.
The trailer for me personally does not look good. We
just keep remaking everything instead of making new shit. I
think it's Kicky.
Speaker 1 (01:25:42):
Palmer in that one. I think I think Oh is it?
I think so? I think so. We'll see. Okay, all right,
let's send some stream labs here before we roll on
out of here.
Speaker 2 (01:25:51):
Fantastic says hello tequila spillers, showing love for my dudes.
Thank you, Fred Than when I'll hear when I when
I hear the phrase hostile takeover, I expect to see
Michael J. Fox and the guys from the mailroom entering
the room. Ellison acts like the spoiled YouTube kid I
grew up with when they didn't get their way. Damn damn,
(01:26:15):
Doug developer says Tea. To be honest, CNN did this
to themselves. Corporate greed at CNN absurdly, both sides every issue,
having in Saint Jerry Springer like debates to Jake Tapper
and company being absolute cowards with their unbalanced coverages. Independent
media will become the mainstream and as far as in
the media goes, I recommend The Bulwark, the Lincoln Project,
Don Lemon, Jim Acosta, and the I've had It ladies,
(01:26:37):
pro democracy, people from different racial, gender and political perspectives.
What are some of your favorites? You just listed all
of them, and I'm a big bit of Hasan Madi.
Speaker 3 (01:26:46):
Is it dame media asn That's why I was going
to say, that's who I was going to suggest.
Speaker 1 (01:26:52):
Yeah, the Bullwark is great. Don Lemon is great, I've
had it. I love the Ladies.
Speaker 2 (01:26:56):
Jennifer Welch over there, she's so good. So yeah, big
big fan of all those people. I'm people like MS.
Speaker 1 (01:27:02):
The Seattle versus the Pats is my super Bowl prediction
a rematch where we make things right, damn it. What's
your prediction? Also?
Speaker 2 (01:27:11):
TV show of the decade? Someone over there is pretty bright.
I guess Andrew still haunts me.
Speaker 1 (01:27:15):
Just so excellent.
Speaker 3 (01:27:16):
I agree the Rams are gonna in my opinion, they're
going to walk into the super Bowl. I have no
idea what the AFC. It's two up in the air.
It could be the Pats. But I don't necessarily trust Drake.
Drake Man has played fantastic an MVP candidate, but I
haven't seen him in the playoffs yet, so, like I can't.
I always get a little nervous about just saying yeah,
sure because the playoffs. Think about what Dak did, Like
(01:27:38):
Dak technically did really well that first year, won that
first game, but then we came up against the Packers
and he didn't even play bad in that game. It
just Aaron Rodgers did Aaron Rodgers things, and you got
that like last minute, like fifty five yard kick from
whoever Crosby that you just couldn't do anything about. I
(01:28:00):
until I see him in the playoffs, I don't know.
I don't necessarily trust Bownecks. Even though bot Nix at
least has a playoff win, Bills look terrible that she's
probably not gonna make it. The Ravens probably aren't gonna
make it. The Steelers, even if they end up winning
it there, they're like so all the perennial like winners
are not even gonna be there. Who knows what Philip
Rivers is going to do for the Colts. Staying that
(01:28:23):
in twenty twenty five, I just I The only thing
I feel pretty comfortable about is I think the Rams
have it for the NFC. I think they're too well
rounded and I and I don't trust Sam Donald. I
feel like Sam Donald will do the same thing he
did in Minnesota. He'll get you to the playoffs and
then he'll ship the bed because he admitted he was
in primetime he was horrible.
Speaker 1 (01:28:43):
Yeah, that's true. I have a dark horse. I have
the Texans as my Super Bowl pick right now.
Speaker 2 (01:28:49):
I think that I don't. I think they're rounding into form.
CJ is looking good again, and that defense looks best
defensive league all dogs, the mauling people.
Speaker 3 (01:29:00):
The best defense in the league. I don't hate that.
When you again, if you're dealing with these teams where
the quarterbacks are untrustworthy or the quarterbacks are the sole weapon,
that's the type of team that could.
Speaker 1 (01:29:11):
Go in and like cause chaos.
Speaker 2 (01:29:14):
Yeah, and they have no I mean they're playing the Cardinals,
the Raiders, the Chargers, and the Colts. Those are all
winnable games, and they could be twelve and five by
the end of the year.
Speaker 1 (01:29:22):
So you trust me, you trust the Texans defense more
than the Broncos. I do, Yeah, because I think Bo
Nicks is shakier than C. J. Stroud.
Speaker 3 (01:29:31):
Okay, and so I would think. So it's less you
think that the defenses are comparable. Should you just think
that if I had, if you had to pick your quarterback,
you're taking Stroud over Nicks.
Speaker 1 (01:29:40):
Yes, yes, that's the difference. There us have a better weapon.
Speaker 3 (01:29:43):
I would argue that the Nico Collins clears any of
the receivers in Denver.
Speaker 1 (01:29:48):
Yeah, yeah, very much. So. All right, well let's wrap
it up there.
Speaker 2 (01:29:52):
