It looks it's it's kind of funky, yuh it is? I love it.
It looks like electricity. I wasthinking maybe it looks like the cover
of the book, the new book. Oh it kind of, does you
know? I was, it's likethis morning, I thought, well,
word, maybe a suit code orsomething. And I saw this shirt.
It's like, no, it's anelectric day. Yeah, And it is

an electric time right now for allof us because Richard's new book, the
newest book, Michael Vay nine,The Trader, Let's get right into it
comes out today. Yes, tellus about the book, Well, it's
you know, I ended with booknumber seven and people say well, why
did you start again? And itprobably COVID. You know, when we're
all sitting around, it's like Imissed those kids. I mean my last

book signing for Michael v seven,we had four thousand kids came. I'm
not exaggerating. Yeah, And soit's like I want to do this again
and touch me. I'm getting lettersfrom around the world. Kids are sending
me plots. Well what if youdid this? It just keep writing?
And so I started again. Ididn't number eate last year. It did
really well. And this is numbernine eight ended on a cliffhanger. So

maybe it's in the billboard that saysis Jack a trader? That's what this
is. It wasn't a political statement. It was about this. Yeah,
and we find out in number nineis Jack a trader? Okay? Now,
these kids that came to the lastbook signing four did you say seven
or nine? Seven? Seven?Were they all of them electroc clans?
Yeah? They all, well theycall themselves Vaniacs. Vaniacs right, part

Okay, did you drive over inthe Michael Vay car? I did?
I did not that. Okay,this is so funny. The car,
I mean, we picked it upand with my wife and I picked
it up. We took we wentto stop at a Mexican restaurant to eat.
We came out the car was surroundedby teenagers taking pictures. It is

a cool looking car. It's cool, it really is. What is it
a plymouth? It's a plymouth prowler. Okay, and it's wrapped with the
book cover. Yeah, they dida good job. It's Queen of Raps
did a great job. Yeah,really really, all right, tell us
about Michael vay nine the book signing. Of course, we'll talk about the
book signing, but a little morein depth on the book. Well,
you know, I actually play withsome political ideas in this one. And

it's you know, the book iswhen I wrote it. It's like,
Okay, Garry calls me. I'min a hotel writing. She goes,
you're coming home. It's like,honey, I need to go to Amazon.
It's like what It's like, Ialready booked a flight. I'm going
into the Amazon. And so Igo deep in the Amazon. I'm just
doing research. And then I askedthis guy that I have I go are
there any like hidden airstrips around here, and he goes, well, there's

there's a drug runner. The cartelshave one. I go, okay,
take me there. He's like,I'm not going there. I just want
to see. It's like they mightbe there going there doing research for the
book. But this is ridiculus.But you got the thing is you just
have to see it. I meanyou have to see the places. He
didn't take me. We never wentthere, but we saw all sorts of
cool things as we got ready towrite this. Yeah, this was all.

This was all in prep for thenew book exactly. Yeah. No,
I I try to be in theplace where my characters are because because
then you find things you wouldn't thinkof. Ye you know, it's like
in this one, they're battling theadvan old zoo. That's that this woman
put together. It's a real place. I mean she has like she has
like jaguars and stuff behind bars.She just found them and nursed them and

brought him in. Now she hasthis whole big zoo. Wow. Yeah,
okay, well you've analyzed my taste, but I want to read this
new one and you don't. I'vetalked to you about this before. My
kids love your books over at everyone of them. Oh, I'm so
glad. That's what I hear morethan anything from parents around the world is
that it got my kid to read. Yeah, and there's a reason for
that. I was a reluctant reader. I was a poor reader. I

have attention deficit disordered along with mytreats, So I didn't read my first
chapter book until I was in middleschool. And people go, are you
kidding? It's like, I'm areally poor reader. Carrie reads four times
faster than me, my wife,and so when I write, it has
to move super quick. And so, you know, one parent called me
it's like, I couldn't find mykid. I mean I went to the

video game and he wasn't there.He was in his room reading. I'm
just like, what happened? Yeah, so that's a good sign. Yeah.
Quentin my oldest and Carson, mysecond oldest, they were just total
vaniacs and absolutely loved every one ofthose Michael books. And we've still got
them signed by you. That's awesome. Yeah, yeah, Okay. Book
signing is on at Barnes and Noblein Layton six o'clock tonight, and the

car will be there. Yeah,yeah, good, Michael Vay car and
we have posters for everyone who comes. Oh that's awesome. You're gonna be
in logan coming up on Thursday atthe book table, yes, okay,
and tell us about the big globallaunch party at Cotton Went High. That's
the twenty ninth. We usually doit before the book comes out, but
this time we did it the weekafter, so Friday night, and it's

a show. It's a Michael Vayshow, and you can bring your books
even if you bought them somewhere else. We will be selling books there.
But yeah, come to the show. It's it's a lot of fun.
Yeah, yeah, you're gonna havetell us about what's going on there.
I mean you're gonna have a DJoh oh yeah, I'll be okay next
year, all right, yeah,it's we You just have to come and

see. I mean one year wehad okay, the first year, we
had someone dressed up as doctor Hatchand he's coming down the aisle and we
had given these kids, like thousandsof kids. We had given them these
little light up wristband things and theystart throwing into the Hatch and to have
like a hundreds of them coming overthe balcony hitting them. We actually had
to have real body guards on thembecause they the kids are like crazy.

They wanted to kill Hatch. It'slike, okay, they believe it.
He's real. Yeah, that isso cool. Okay, Cotton went high
