Speaker 1 (00:15):
One up, folks, and welcome to the Chiriculture episode one
thirty three with myself, Depok and T Bone Spimoni. Not
a ton going on today. We're just gonna talk about
some of the news that came out of D twenty three,
amongst other things. And uh, but before we get started, Aaron,
how's it going?
Speaker 2 (00:35):
It is going all right to my friend, thank you
for asking. I you already know this, but I had
a freaking crazy day at work yesterday. A long story short.
It just we were short staffed and we're get an
emergency hospital and it's always busier on the weekends, and
like I'm supposed to, I work like a late swing,
(00:56):
so I worked three pm to three am. And good guys. Yeah,
I mean it's fine for me, like that works for
my circadian rhythm.
Speaker 1 (01:03):
But damn big science shit right there.
Speaker 2 (01:06):
Bro.
Speaker 1 (01:07):
Yeah, Bro, he's fucking dropping big science.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Big science words. Bro. Fuck Pretty much like we were
short we were short staffed, and patients just kept walking
in through the door, like two o'clock, three o'clock, four o'clock,
five o'clock in the morning. Our doctor was in surgery,
our only doctor was in surgery for like two hours.
I had to like drive to another emergency hospital to
go pick up blood for a cat that needed a
(01:32):
blood transfusion. And that was at like two thirty. Suposed
be off at three, and I just like I was, like,
I got to feel so bad if I left right now,
like everybody's I didn't want to leave anybody hanging, you
know what I mean, Like I know, if I left,
I would have just made everybody's life so much harder.
So I was just like, all right, I'll stay until
you know, they tell me to go home. And then
that turned into me leaving at like six thirty in
(01:53):
the morning. I'm getting paid extra for it, I'm getting
a bonus for it. Whatever. But man, it's just like
getting home at seven in the morning, everybody else is
waking up. It's just like it's a whole nother lifestyle,
you know what I mean. Like, other than that's doing
pretty good, still real heavy in the magic the gathering,
dropping some dollars on some magic cards. Me and Restlin
(02:14):
found like a new local game store that we really
like near us. Yeah, it's it's super fun. It makes
me feel like like I'm a teenager again, you know
what I mean, or like a but Yeah, we got
together with a couple of my coworker and her partner
and we finally played like the format that me and
Restin played one V won in. It's supposed to be
like a four player format. This was like our first
time playing at four players, and it's like so much
(02:36):
different playing it with two extra people. But it's super fun.
There's like politicking involved. We can be like, hey, like,
don't attack me this turn. I won't do this to you,
you know what I mean, like having some drinks, listening
to some music. Other than that, life's pretty status quo,
you know, just moving along? How about you men?
Speaker 1 (02:52):
For starters? I don't. I don't know why. I like
immediately thought of this, but when you said, like when
you're talking about work and you said patients kept on
walking through the door, I just imagined like just animals
just checking themselves in his paties without just without owners
and humans. It's like, hey, bro, I said, some of
my ship's kind of a messed up. Can you help
(03:14):
me out here?
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Damn, that'd be hilarious. You can make a skip skip
based off.
Speaker 1 (03:19):
Of that, like just it it'd be absurd. But no,
it's it's really funny when you say, like, oh, I'm
getting home at like seven in the morning when the
rest of the world is like just getting up. Because
like I'll be up in like on the East Coast
around like like six thirty in the morning and it's
like three thirty on the West Coast. And then knowing this,
(03:39):
like I'll get like messages from you, like you're sending
me like memes and and shit on Instagram like AO,
so it's a little late over there, but what you
up to.
Speaker 2 (03:51):
Yeah, I definitely hit you with some dark early morning memes,
that's for sure.
Speaker 1 (03:56):
Oh dude, you definitely you're definitely in the Dude, You're
you're in the in the in the depths of the Internet,
like yeah, like that's ceremony after hours for real.
Speaker 2 (04:09):
It's like the algorithm knows that it's late, and I
get off late. It's just starts sending me like the
dark depths of memes and I'm just like, I'm just
gonna share this because I don't know, just for them.
If I if I saw this, if I saw this,
Joe as to see it, like right, that's fair.
Speaker 1 (04:25):
I respect it. Yeah, Like no, I think I think
some of the favorite ones that you've sent me that
I I now follow the page because I just think
they're sick. Is the Wizard Ones the Wizard Ones when
Me and broke on aside Yeah, me and broke on
a side quest. And then in parentheses it is like
this will be Laura in our future. I'm like, dude,
that's us for real.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
Good Like it's definitely some like gen Z stuff I
feel like, but it's like good gen Z content, you
know what I mean.
Speaker 1 (04:50):
It's like it's good ship.
Speaker 2 (04:52):
Yeah. And then I'll also be sending like you know,
like the weird like AI made like Japanese demon kind
of things, and I'm and.
Speaker 1 (05:00):
Then I'm like that it's like it's time, it's time
for some rest, even though for two that's.
Speaker 2 (05:07):
Literally what happens to I'll send it and I'll be like,
all right, I'm done. I'm going to bad my bad No.
Speaker 1 (05:11):
But uh and then you mentioned, uh, I'm glad things
are going well with Magic because he texted me the
other day.
Speaker 2 (05:18):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (05:18):
And we've I think we've talked about this on the
pod before, but we I I told you about like
this account I follow that only makes Magic the gathering content.
So shout out to Infinity Bros. Because I think this
is a this is a page that you like, did
you stumble across it on like your explore page?
Speaker 2 (05:37):
Well no, actually, I you sent me some of his
content before, but you send me because he'll make like
some like MCU content or like he'll do like quick
like reviews of stuff, you know, like Star Wars stuff
like nerd culture stuff that's not Magic the Gathering. And
then I randomly like he did stumble into my page
after that, and I was like, oh, I remember this guy.
And then I realized he's just like pretty much old
(06:00):
time Magic the Gathering content creators, Like oh damn, I
got no idea this guy did this, Like that's that's
tope shout shout out divinity ros Man.
Speaker 1 (06:08):
Yeah no, but it was funny because like you text me,
You're like, dude, you follow this guy. I was like, yeah, man,
they like we follow each other. We've we've known like
each other is like like social media's for a while.
Speaker 2 (06:19):
You know.
Speaker 1 (06:19):
I thought it was funny that like you randomly stumbled
upon it. I was like, yeah, man, I know they are.
Speaker 2 (06:24):
Yeah, that's so because you you also sent me some
Magic the Gathering content. For you sending me Magic content
what's going on here? Bro? What's going on?
Speaker 1 (06:32):
I'm thinking, No, the algorithm knows that I that I
don't play magic or own any magic cards, but it
knows it's it's within my lexicon.
Speaker 2 (06:42):
You know, so high fantasy kind of stuff.
Speaker 1 (06:45):
Yeah, so that's that's that's pretty cool. Shout out Infinity bros.
Let's see on my end, everything's going well. I might
have mentioned this on a on a pod a bit ago,
but I did get promoted at work, so that's been
pretty sick. I've had the new job for about a
month now. I'm starting to get into a groove when
it comes to doing like my daily responsibility, so that's
(07:05):
always nice. Still watching some movies, movies, TV shows. Just
finished House of the Dragons season two. I thought like
the first four episodes were pretty strong and pretty exciting,
and then I think it kind of just lost momentum
in the back half, and the final two episodes are
like like typically, Aaron, you know this when you typically
watch Game of Thrones, It's like the final two episodes
(07:26):
are always like supposed to be top notch.
Speaker 2 (07:28):
And the final you want a cliffhanger where you're like, yeah,
on a good cliff the next season.
Speaker 1 (07:34):
So the season finale just really felt flat, and it
almost felt like if it were a ten episode series,
like this should have been an episode eight. And I
think from what I hear, initially the plan was for
season two to have ten episodes, and this was eight episodes,
and I feel like this episode was meant to be
like actually episode eight in a planned to ten episode season,
(07:59):
and they're like, like HBO said like, no, you're only
gonna have eight episodes and that's it, and they couldn't
make anymore. So I was like, oh, wow, that's really underwhelming.
Speaker 2 (08:06):
So they they pretty much released an unfinished season.
Speaker 1 (08:10):
That's what it feels like.
Speaker 2 (08:11):
Yeah, yeah, that sucks because I was I mean, I
haven't seen it. I saw the finished season one, haven't
started season two obviously, but when the first couple episodes
came out, I feel like I was seeing a lot
of hype around the second season, like more hype than
I was seeing around anything for the first season. I
was like, oh, like hell yeah, like, oh, maybe Game
of the RUMs is back, that kind of thing, and
(08:31):
it's just kind of sad to see it just kind
of like dwindle out as the season goes on.
Speaker 1 (08:35):
But no, that's not to say like I'm still very
much invested for a season three. I feel like two more. Right, Yeah,
I think we're locked in. I think it's gonna end
with four seasons. Like they're only gonna make four seasons.
That's it. I said this at the end of season
one though, like after watching the season one, I was like,
now the table is set and season two is about
to pop off. But now, like at the end of
(08:57):
season two, like we got one big battle in season two,
which was honestly awesome. But now I'm at the end
of season two and I'm like, all right, now we're
set for like a big bang in season three, Like
the table is set. So I hope like season three
and season four just just pop off.
Speaker 2 (09:14):
Speaking of that, if you don't mind, I interject real
quick speaking about getting somebody else on a pod and
playing magic gathering with my coworker and her partner. Her
partner Nate is a huge like huge nerd, like he
puts us to shame any he Star Wars is his
(09:34):
main thing. And I was telling him, I was telling
him about he finally figured out that like me and
you were running a podcast, and he's like, you never
told me about this what the fuck? And like he
was like, hey, man, if you're looking for guests or something,
I was like, dude, we're we're always open open for guests.
Like like I pretty much told him like the next time,
like something big and noteworthy comes out for Star Wars, like, well,
(09:59):
we'll talk about it. We'll discussed to see what happens.
Speaker 1 (10:01):
You know, dude, I'm super down. Maybe maybe you can
come on for Skeleton Crew. That'd be fun. I'm not exactly.
I think the trailer said it comes out later this year, December.
We'll talk about the trailer later. But but yeah, so yeah,
maybe Skelting Crew or if something happens, something huge happens
within the next few months. But shout out to Nate.
Speaker 2 (10:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
Yeah, all right, that's about it for me. Before we
start talking about D twenty three, let's just take a
quick break for some ads. Okay, actually before D twenty three.
I don't know if you saw this one, Aaron, but
Game Informer he's still uh when was the last time
he got like a Game Informer magazine?
Speaker 2 (10:40):
I used to have a subscription that was like four
years ago. Why what happened?
Speaker 1 (10:45):
The bell was pretty recent though, you've been Like I
remember like when we were growing up, like you, yeah,
stacks on still yeah magazines.
Speaker 2 (10:54):
Oh, when I was younger, for sure. I mean I
had like a subscription for years, and then like when
I moved up here, like eight years ago, I got
another subscription from game Stop and then I just stopped
it because it wasn't it was more like a collector thing.
It had nothing to do with the actual information that
was in the magazines, you know.
Speaker 1 (11:10):
Yeah, but they were sick right, like I liked to
I like like flipping through those with you. And then
I remember reading about like Halo news in there. I
don't know why Halo always came to my mind. I
feel like they were just a bunch of cool like
Halo covers on gaming. But no, Game Informer is officially
shutting down, like they're not gonna be DM no more issues,
(11:33):
and like I don't even think they're gonna I don't
know if they're not gonna have like an Internet presence
anymore or anything like that, but I think they're just
like they're just done.
Speaker 2 (11:43):
Damn. That's wild. That's sad.
Speaker 1 (11:46):
That is wild. Yeah, So rest in peace to Game Informer. Seriously,
that that was like the original where you'd get your
your nerd news, you know, because I feel like they
they definitely, I feel like they talked more than just games,
you know. I feel like it's even just like a
like a technology like uh, like latest in tech type
of thing.
Speaker 2 (12:05):
Yeah. And then there's another magazine company that was like
Game Informer. I totally forgot what the name was, same
thing but not. They didn't get as big as Game
Informer got. But damn, that's sad, and that surprises me
that they wouldn't even like have an Internet presence anymore.
But I guess you also have like companies like Kotaku
or whatever, fucking so many other like game news feeds
(12:29):
out there that I guess it makes sense that they're
shutting down because that was like their bread and butter
was making the magazines, you know what I mean. And
we live in a digital age, so rest in peace. Yeah. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
But anyways, on a lighter, more exciting note, let's talk
D twenty three. So, uh got a couple of trailers,
a couple of leaked trailers because they haven't released any
of these officially online.
Speaker 2 (12:53):
When do you think they will release most of those trailers?
Like in a month or so.
Speaker 1 (12:58):
Right, Yeah, they they probably have to come out in
like a month or so. Captain America. We'll talk about
that on first. I think that movie releases in February.
I mean they've officially released like the first trailer for
a cap online, like the very first teaser trailer, but
the one that I sent to you. It was like
an exclusive D twenty three trailer where remember that opening
(13:18):
scene with Harrison Ford where he talks about let's just
talk start talking about the trailer. So the the trailer
opens up with with Harrison Ford talking about adamantiums. Yep,
Thaddeus Ross. He he's uh, he's replacing Tough. Uh, this
is good. Yeah, I'm forgetting his name unfortunately, but I
(13:41):
think he I'm pretty sure he passed away.
Speaker 2 (13:44):
While you're looking that up to. So, Harrison Ford wasn't
in the MCU before this, right, Like this is his debut.
Speaker 1 (13:50):
He's yeah, this is debut, but he someone else had
this role and they recast him with Harrison right, right.
His name's William Hurt.
Speaker 2 (14:00):
That was the guy before and you might remember him
from previous MCU movies. Aaron. He had like a big
white mustache. Oh yeah, his face is kind of unforgettable,
very so he's he's replacing William Hurt And you never
watched Turnals, right, Nah, still still yet to watch it.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Okay. So one of the biggest running jokes online was
because Eternals came out, I think in twenty twenty, and
so pretty much what happened is there is like this
being that like all throughout the MCU, there was this
being that laid dormant within the Earth's core and they
(14:42):
called it a celestial. You probably know what that is
because he pats some comics, right, Yeah. So yeah, So
a celestial laid dormant within the Earth. And essentially they
were saying that like in Eternals, there was like a
big enough surge of energy from I think the Snap
or something like that where the celestial can like wake
up and then but if it wakes up, then Earth
(15:04):
would be destroyed. And so part of the movie or
the conclusion of the movie is the group of Eternals,
the heroes stopping the celestial from getting out of the ocean.
They won, they stopped it, but the celestial was like
almost awake, so like one of its hands and it's
like part of its head is like sticking out of
(15:26):
the ocean. So there was a big running joke online
is that was like with each passing MCU project, none
of them had mentioned like, oh, there's this huge giant
robot just sticking out of the middle of the Earth
and no one's mentioned anything about.
Speaker 2 (15:39):
It, damn.
Speaker 1 (15:41):
And it's true, like none of the projects did except
for in Shee Hulk, where it's like I hated when
people said this. It always bugged me so much because
I always thought that like, yeah, no, this is gonna
be like six or seventh MCU project that's released between
like twenty twenty and when Captain America comes out, where
no one talked about team but that's that's the name
of the celestial Tiamut, like sticking out of the ocean.
(16:03):
Pretty much everyone would try to dunk back. She's like, no,
it was in Shee Hulk, and it was like it
was like this thing where it's like a shot of
someone doing like like researching something on the Internet and
it's like a little tiny link that's like in the
corner where they like say like, oh, this thing's sticking
out of the water. I'm like, you guys, this does not.
Speaker 2 (16:19):
So it's like the most discreete thing ever, Like they
don't even actually show it.
Speaker 1 (16:23):
They don't show it. It is so discreet and you have
to like pause. It's it's the most easily like blink
and you'll miss thing. And it's like, why would I
even try to look for this. It's not even exciting
to begin with. So finally, all that to say, we're
seeing the celestial that's sticking out of the water. It's
gonna be a plot point in the new Captain America movie.
And the celestial is gonna be made of animantium and
(16:46):
Adamantium is essentially what Wolverine's like claws and what his
skeleton is made out of.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
So are you gonna say vibranium.
Speaker 1 (16:55):
That's a big debate. You'd have to ask a person
that's like that's a comic person, but it's it is
a pretty strong metal. Yeah, So I think it's pretty
interesting that, like, you know, because the Wakandans have all
the vibranium and it's like exclusive to them, well it
was exclusive until like T'Challa at the end of Civil
Wars started sharing it with the world. And vibranium is
(17:16):
what cap shield is made out of. So I think
it's pretty interesting that like cap has like a vibranium
shield and now they're introducing adam adium adamantium to the MCU.
Speaker 2 (17:25):
So, I mean, I don't know if you do know this,
but I guess I'll ask anyway. So is the is
the plot of the movie gonna be the bad guys
trying to use the adam antium? Wait? Okay, so is
is the celestial already made out of adam antium and
that's how they found it? Like, that's how they discovered
it because the celestials made out of adamantium or is
it the bad guys in the movie are going to
(17:47):
try to use adamantium on the celestial or whatever and
then use the celestial.
Speaker 1 (17:53):
No, So, so what it happened in Eternals was the
celestial like if you look it up, it looks like
it is made out of some type of metal, right,
or some type of cosmic like space metal essentially. But
what they did in Eternals to stop the the celestial
(18:13):
from rising out of the ocean was one of the
one of the eternals has the power to turn pretty
much anything that's organic matter I think, into like stone
or something form of likelchemy. What the Eternal did was
to stop it from rising out of the ocean, was
just turn the entire celestial into stone. So I think
there's like a mix of like it's like a mix
(18:34):
of stone and the space metal that created Adamanni and Adamanti.
That's that's where my head canon is at.
Speaker 2 (18:40):
Gotcha, gotcha?
Speaker 1 (18:41):
Okay, So yeah, it's pretty interesting. I think. I think,
like you know that all the Captain America movies are
are my favorite, like all three of them, cap One, two,
and three. They're like top tier for me as as
like my favorite MCU movies.
Speaker 2 (18:54):
And what are Soldiers like your favorite of all time? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (18:56):
Oh yeah, Like and whenever I rank like MCU movies,
I never put the Avengers movies up there because they
don't really count. That's like like a finale. But like
outside of Avengers movies, like Winter Soldier is my favorite
one for sure, Like it brings back like that political
thriller that you get in Winter Soldier. But again, I'm
not trying to like hold it up to that standard,
(19:18):
and that's what people always try to do, because then
you're just gonna judge it on its own. Yeah, I'm
just gonna judge it on its own merits, but no,
it does feel like it. It continues that vibe, that
tone that is in the previous Cat films, which like
from these trailers, that's what it feels like. And I
like the idea. I mean, just from this opening clip
with Harrison Ford. I like the idea that it's like
(19:39):
it seems like the premise of the movie, or at
least part of it, is all these countries going to
war or not going to war, but like or yeah, no, yeah,
they're going to you know, maybe fight each other over resources, right,
That in itself is pretty cool. Like I like seeing
Sam Back. I don't know if you ever watched Falcon
in the Winter Soldier where he actually becomes okay, yeah,
(20:00):
where he actually becomes Captain America. So I like that
he's like getting it like his own movie, but.
Speaker 2 (20:05):
He like technically becomes Captain America at the end of
endgame endgame, right, and technically like the Crown pass to him.
Essentially the shield is fast to him.
Speaker 1 (20:14):
M hmm. And Falcon and winterd Soldiers just kind of
like you know, Discovery, he doesn't be yeah, like actually
like what it means to be Captain America or whatever.
So I know, I'm I'm pumped for this and uh,
any thoughts from you, and well, we'll have to talk.
We'll have to talk about the final shot together.
Speaker 2 (20:32):
But yees, general, I had to do some research on
that because I was like, what the fuck my number
one favorite? I agree with you. Like the vibe and
the feeling of the trailer feels just like Civil War.
It's like that political political espionage, you know, a whole
lot of politicking, deception and all that kind of stuff.
My number one, honestly that this might be really random,
(20:53):
but my number one favorite thing about the trailer is
the fact that fucking John carl Esposido is going to
be in it, and he's gonna be villain. I think
that's awesome. Like the scene where he's like it's kind
of kind of slowed down, but like he has like
the empty shells coming out of the revolver, I'm like, yeah,
it's so mof Gideon. Bro. That's I love the trailer.
(21:13):
Like I I'll have to, like, I really want to
watch it once it actually officially releases. I really want
to watch it on my big TV sound up so
I can catch everything. Get like that pre cinema vibe,
you know what I mean, like get me hyped up
to go to the movie theater when it comes out. Yeah,
I think it'll be interesting. I hope once it comes out,
(21:35):
we're kind of getting along to the path of like
imc used back, you know what I mean? Yeah, No,
I overall like it really did get me excited to
watch something Marvel again, like especially in theaters. Yeah, let's
talk about the m scene Red Hulk.
Speaker 1 (21:49):
So final final shot is of Red Hulk, and it's
so funny because like people are already like being horny
over how he looks on thee I'm like, damn, you
already are in saying. What I think is really funny
is how like in the first Avengers movie or even
like thor Ragnarok, right when the Hulk was in those
(22:10):
his face didn't really look like the actor.
Speaker 2 (22:14):
No. I just think over time, our brains kind of
melded the two faces together, you know what I mean,
Like we could kind of see the hole and be like,
oh my god, it's freaking Mark Ruffalo, you know.
Speaker 1 (22:25):
Yeah, but no, I think I might have heard this
or read this somewhere. Is that like an endgame when
he's like, oh, he's like smart Hulk.
Speaker 2 (22:32):
Now.
Speaker 1 (22:32):
I think when like a this is my head canon again,
I think when like the Hulk has like control over
like his consciousness and like his brain and stuff, he
looks like less of a monster and more like the
person who's in control. So I think that's that's what's
going on here, because supposedly, like Red Hulk still maintains
(22:53):
like his consciousness. So that's why it kind of looks.
Speaker 2 (22:56):
Like Harrickson Ford, Like it looks that like that is
fucking Harrison Ford's literally you know. Yeah, and also just
throwing another thing out there. I am very surprised that
Harrison Ford decided to do this. Oh yeah, Like I
don't I did not see him being like, oh yeah,
I want to be in a Marvel movie. I don't know.
It's just weird to me.
Speaker 1 (23:15):
I mean, no, yeah, it's it's because the way that he, like,
you know, when you see him in the press about
like Star Wars and like all the other ip seems
like he doesn't want to do it. But I think
at the end of the day, it's like it's just
how he likes to like talk and tease the press.
Speaker 2 (23:31):
And the dude's in his eighties, Like maybe it's one
of his like bucket list things like.
Speaker 1 (23:35):
Yeah, bucket list retirement money, right, big bag of Marvel.
Speaker 2 (23:41):
Cash, Yeah, big old bag. So Thadeus Ross is the
one that oversaw the project, like the Hulk project, right,
Like he's the one who.
Speaker 1 (23:50):
Yeah, that's that's what I from, Like, yeah, that's that's
what I remember from the first Incredible Hulk movie that
was technically part of the MC You. It's like what
they were trying to do was recreate the super soldier
serum that created Captain America and they could never they
could never get it right, and like the Hulk is
(24:11):
like a result of that and blah blah blah.
Speaker 2 (24:14):
Yeah, so maybe somewhere down the line he held on
to that for him. Well, I guess we'd probably find
out in the movie. I just wanted to make sure
I got that part of it right, Like, okay, like
why the hell does how the hell does he turn
into a Hulk? Now? Like what's the connect?
Speaker 1 (24:29):
Yeah, I think that is something that they're going to
say for the movie. But if I were to take
a quick guess, I think something is gonna happen. And
there was some controversy about this because the so I
told you earlier, there's a there's a Captain America trailer
online right now that they officially released, but the one
that we're talking about right now isn't released to the public.
And the first one they released, there's a there's a
(24:51):
scene where so I should say right now that that
Eiaus Ross is he's like president of the United States.
I'm pretty sure you picked that up in the.
Speaker 2 (24:59):
He used to be some sort of like higher General Ross.
Speaker 1 (25:04):
That was, That's what I remember them.
Speaker 2 (25:05):
Yeah.
Speaker 1 (25:06):
So in the in the very first trailer, there's a
scene where Isaiah Bradley, he was in Falcon and the
Winter Soldier tries to assassinate him. And this trailer was
released like days before, or maybe like a week before
after the Trump shooting. Yeah, so yeah, so there was
(25:26):
like after that came out, they took that. And I
noticed this when I went to the movies afterwards and
they showed the new trailer. I was like, oh fuck,
did they actually remove it? And I was watching the trailer,
It's like, oh wow, it's it's actually gone. I think
that's gonna be crazy. I know, that's that's wild, right, So,
but it's smart.
Speaker 2 (25:43):
I think because people are just gonna run wild with
that if they don't take it out.
Speaker 1 (25:47):
I mean, I think it'll end up in the film,
but they're just not They're they're just not putting in
marketing right now. So so I think what's gonna happen
in the movie is like Isaiah Bradley might potentially be
successful and they'll just be they'll just blast him with
like gamma radiation to like try and save him. Maybe,
(26:08):
So yeah, yeah, because it looks.
Speaker 2 (26:11):
Yeah, it looks pretty good. And that scene that at
the end does kind of seem like there's an assassination
attempt on him. Like it's not very clear, but there
is an assassination attempt because I don't know if you
hear a gunshot or whatever, but everybody starts ducking, like
Cap pulls a shield out and like covers himself and
then Ross turns into the Red Hulk. So maybe they
like try to assassinate him, but he always had that
(26:34):
trick in his back pocket to just turn into the
Incredible Hulk. Or he got shot but it didn't kill him,
then he got super angry and then turned into the
Red Hulk or something like that. You know. The other
question I have, and this is the last thing I
have on the trailer. Who is Captain's sidekick?
Speaker 1 (26:49):
So his name is Danny or no, this is the
actor's name. His character's name is Joaquin Torres. So he
was actually in Falcon in the Winterards. I'm not sure
how much he was in it, but he he's in
this show. So Sam becomes Captain America walking towards he
becomes Falcon.
Speaker 2 (27:09):
He becomes Falcon. That makes so much more sense because
there was a moment with if that, with that lead
clip that once he appeared like in his arm or
whatever as Falcon, everybody started cheering, and I was like,
why is everybody cheering? That's why it kind of arose
the question in my head. Yeah, very much looking forward
to it should be should be a really fun movie
(27:30):
theater experience.
Speaker 1 (27:32):
So I thought it was interesting too because at first
first reaction, I was like, how, like Sam's gonna be cooked?
Like how the fuck does he fight Red Hulk?
Speaker 2 (27:40):
You know? But are they even gonna be enemies? Like
they could be allies?
Speaker 1 (27:45):
Yeah? Possibly, But I think I read somewhere where it's
like I think when he when he transforms into Red Hulk,
he has like he's already like one of the He's
like the strongest version of Hulk, but it's like the
opposite for him, where the angrier he gets, the weaker
he gets, but like regular Greenhole gets, like the angrier
(28:06):
he gets it, the stronger he gets. So I think
it's more so like a it's just like being a
good strategist, like get him weaker.
Speaker 2 (28:14):
Yeah, okay, interesting.
Speaker 1 (28:16):
Yeah so but yeah, no, I'm looking forward to this.
I hope it's good. A couple of Marvel things came out,
but I really only want to talk about two of them.
Daredevil leak trailer. This was sick. It honestly feels like
a straight up continuation from season three. It does feel.
It just does feel like a season four to the
Netflix Daredevil. The entire original cast is back and including
(28:39):
a confirmation of John burnhal Is the Punisher, which is sick.
I don't know if you remember Aaron from season three,
but the guy that was his name's Bullseye. He was
like the dude that could go pretty much toe to
toe with Daredevil in season three. He can pretty much
throw like a pencil at someone's head and kill him. Yeah,
he just had like he just had like crazy good aim,
So he's gonna be back for this. Like how I
(29:01):
mentioned with Cap four how it feels similar in tone.
This does feel similar in tone to the Netflix Daredevil show,
and I'm pretty sure they will go with the TVM
a like rated R version for this. Like I don't
think there it's gonna be you know, like you know,
Disney Fight or whatever, because I mean, currently right now
you can watch all the Daredevil shit on Disney Plus,
(29:24):
so you know, I think they're okay with that. And
they just released fucking Deadpool and Wolverine that was rated R.
I think they can. They can keep the same tone,
pump for it and yeah, no, we also got introductions
new characters. I don't know who. I didn't do too
much research on who White Tiger is, but that character
is in this. But no, it looks sick. What do
you think?
Speaker 2 (29:45):
Yeah, absolutely agree with you on the tone. Honestly, even
more gruesome and like bloody and violent than any of
the other Devil previous Daredevil installments. I can't wait. John
Brenthal as the Punisher, he plays a fantastic punisher. I
think he's my favorite. I mean, they're technically like the
(30:06):
Defenders right, like that's the whole Defenders series. Yeah, Iron Fist,
Luke Cage, Daredevil, Punisher, He's my he was my favorite,
next to Daredevil. Everybody's back, Foggy's looking all mature and
grown up.
Speaker 1 (30:22):
We got the beard going fogging Karen.
Speaker 2 (30:25):
They're back, fogging, fogging Karen, are back freaking Wilson. Fisk
is back. That's an interesting little dynamic that they had,
like the diner where it was like Mount Rock and
him talking, because it was kind of like Daredevil was
threatening him, like Matt Murdoch was threatening him, and then
like Fisk knows that Matt Murdoch is also Daredevil, and
I don't know if that was a thing.
Speaker 1 (30:47):
In the other Yeah. I think it's like if he
ever figured it out, Oh he did, I think, Okay,
he did figure it out in season three. I think.
Speaker 2 (30:53):
Okay. So I'm just wondering if there's gonna be a
point in the show where like maybe they somehow like
work together for their own mutual benefits, you know what
I mean. Yeah, No, that's what it feels like, just
because you know, I would seem like there's gonna, yeah,
there's gonna be a bigger threat that they both have
to deal with that. Matt will need his like underworld
(31:16):
criminal resources to figure out. But yeah, so Daredevil looks
super awesome he's gonna be getting from what it looks like,
he has like five different suits that he's gonna wear.
I just want to see him wear the black one,
just because black is sick. Uh, let's see what else?
What else from the trailer, I mean it looks like
they're you know, Daredevil I always saw was really like
(31:37):
one of its highlights was having just awesome action. Yeah,
awesome hand to hand combat. It looks like we'll be
getting more action with his I think it's called like
a billy club. That's something that I feel. Yeah, it's
like a baton where it's like there's like a string
attached to it and he can throw it and like
I think he can swing with it too. So I
(31:59):
think that's one of the cooler things that we'll see
more of, is that he'll be like using the baton
more than he did in like previous seasons of Daredugel.
Speaker 1 (32:07):
So we'll see about that. But yeah, no, I think
it's gonna be sick and I want to say it's
gonna be like thirteen or fifteen episodes. I'm not really sure,
but oh absolutely, it's a rarity. And that's like in
line with the Netflix show, you know, because most Disney
Plus shows are only like six maybe eight there. It
(32:31):
does not benefit from those those short amount of episodes
at all, not at all, and not only for the
Marvel shows, but also like the Star Wars shows. It's
kind of it's kind of rough. But yeah, so I'm pumped.
I'm pumped. I think it's March March two. Yeah, well,
let's pivot over to Star Wars. So first thing I
(32:53):
want to talk about, let's talk about Man Mandalorian and Krogu.
They're they're sticking with that title. I'm not that big
of a fan of to be honest with you. So
this teaser was mostly old footage from like previous seasons,
which is interesting because I feel like in season three,
like the Mandalorians started to walk back on a lot
(33:15):
of the decisions they made in previous seasons. So like
an example, Grogu goes off with Luke at the end
of season two, and then that gets undone in the
book of Boba Fett and then his h and then
like they arrest mof getting in season two, I think,
and then he's back in season three. I guess that
(33:36):
one's not that crazy. Like I mean, if it's mof getting,
I'm sure you can just break him out of pos
and no problem. But I think the biggest thing for me,
which I feel like was like an important part. Honestly,
it happened in season two because I feel like it
was necessary for Mando's arc for his ship to get destroyed.
I don't know if this was an old footage shot
(33:57):
again or if he has the Razorcrest back.
Speaker 2 (34:01):
Did you see that somehow turned bro?
Speaker 1 (34:08):
Yeah, somehow the Razor Crest returned. I'm like, what the hell,
where's the Naboo Starfighter do that?
Speaker 2 (34:15):
Let's be real, like Mando going from the Razor Crest
to the Naboo Starfighter was literally him going from like
an old Ford Ranger, reliable, it works, you know, it's
TRUSTe to a fucking like brand new Corvette, you know
what I mean? Like, yeah, please don't take that away
(34:36):
from it and bring the Starfighter back. That thing is insane.
Speaker 1 (34:38):
Yeah, that that thing was just sick. It was like
a nice way to connect like different eras of Star Wars,
you know, And so yeah, somehow the razorcrest return. That's
fucking good. So yeah, not a not a ton of
new footage until like the final like thirty ish seconds
where he's running around on a on like part of
(34:59):
a walker. I want to say, I for I forget
what those are.
Speaker 2 (35:02):
Called, but yeah, like they're kind of like are you
talking about the things that are Do you remember the
arc in Clone Wars, that's the Ryloth arc where it's
like Mace Windu goes to Ryloth and helps the the
Tweetle likes liberate the capital city from the separatists. You
(35:23):
remember those those things that talking about. Yeah, yeah, I
like the two robotic legs. Ah but what like yeah
and missing the.
Speaker 1 (35:31):
Top half yeah, just missing the head portion of it. Yeah,
but no, they also use these at the end of
at the end of Revenge of the Sith, when uh
like after Order sixty six happens, you see some clones
riding around on these and yes, yes, I think on
Kashik So he's riding one of those and then he
facees off with like two I think these are the
AT eight s for the at Ads. It's like the
(35:53):
big robot camels that family guy likes.
Speaker 2 (35:55):
To go yeah, oh yeah, yeah. So uh so.
Speaker 1 (35:58):
That that's pretty much it. I mean, we don't have
much else. I think the release date for this is
May twenty twenty six.
Speaker 2 (36:05):
So probably around me the fourth Oh.
Speaker 1 (36:07):
That'd be that'd be perfect. They gotta do that. Yeah,
so that'd be sick. I mean, you know, I've always
wanted to just see like a Mandalorian movie in theaters.
And I mean I feel like, I mean, people have
gone back and forth on this, but supposedly this is
just supposed to be like a like a repurpose season four,
like if like instead of doing Mando season four, they're
(36:29):
just gonna do Mandoin Grogu. I mean, who knows they
could do this and then still do a fourth season
of Mandalorian of the Mandalorian. But at this point, I'm like, dude,
Disney Plus has just got to drop the shows, so
just start making movies again, you know what I mean.
And I think Pedro Pascal is, like he's a huge
star right now. I believe I think he has enough
(36:49):
poll to like lead his own movie like that. I mean,
he's doing Fantastic four, so Disney really has him by
by the clutches right now. Yeah. Yeah, they have their
they have their clause in him right now, so we'll
see I mean, looks looks fine, you know. Then I
think the final shot is of Grogu and then Zellen's yeah,
(37:15):
so we'll see how it goes. Man, I'm pumped.
Speaker 2 (37:18):
Yeah, well that pumps.
Speaker 1 (37:19):
But I'm like, I'm like, yeah, let's do it.
Speaker 2 (37:21):
Yah. Yeah. That's how I feel. Kind of bridge those
two thoughts together, is like we didn't get enough new
revealing footage to get like super excited about it, but
like enough to be like, oh, like it's it's approaching.
You know, it's still kind of far away, but you
know it'll it'll be be here sooner than me think.
I think the two biggest things for me and the trailer.
(37:44):
So there was like a voice line from Pedro Pascal
and he says something like, you know the child's mind now,
which I don't think was in a previous season, but
like now that like he's under my protection or whatever.
You know, my life's a bounty hunter. I need to
choose my job as more white. He says something along
those lines. So my idea in my head ganon behind
(38:04):
that is like now that we're seeing more more, like
more sides of the Empire, like the remaining Empire with
like all the the Ataights and all that stuff. Where
my head is at is that now that like Grogu
is kind of like Mando's apprentice essentially, right, And at
the end of the season three of The Mandalorian it
(38:25):
was kind of like, oh, like he's got this property
and he's going to like settle down and you know,
raise teach his apprentice or whatever. I feel like it
might be more of now that Grogo is the apprentice
and all the shit that the Empire has done to
not only the Mandalorians, but like also the danger that
they put Grogu in. Like his mentality is going to
(38:47):
be like I want the world in the galaxy to
be a safer place. So the jobs that he's going
to choose are only going to be like big jobs
against the remaining Empire. So hopefully we'll get like big
battle scenes, you know, with everything the Empire's got. We'll
see who Mando teams up with Zeb. We got another
(39:08):
shot of Zeb.
Speaker 1 (39:09):
Oh yeah, that's right. That that was a big one.
Like that that one got a pop from the crowd. Yeah,
it was cool to see Zeb.
Speaker 2 (39:15):
Because you know, we we we got him in uh,
season three of The Mandalorian, but we kind of got
him under the suspicion that we might not see him again.
You know. It was just kind of like a little
cameo that they dropped and they're, oh, zeb still live.
Speaker 1 (39:28):
Fuck.
Speaker 2 (39:28):
Yeah, but like now he might actually play like a
real part and get his character fleshed out a little
bit more on the live screen. I mean, he's got
plenty of war in rebels, but hopefully we get it
a little bit more character development with him on the
big screen. And then the other thing that I liked
about the trailer is this is a tiny thing, but
what I really liked was Grogu crawling through the pipe
(39:50):
because it reminded me of Yoda crawling through the pipe
at the Pipe.
Speaker 1 (39:55):
I thought it the same thing.
Speaker 2 (39:56):
Yeah, yeah, a little homage to that and that that
had to be intentional too, oh for sure. And also
I really hope we see Grogu speak that's.
Speaker 1 (40:08):
What the audio speaks speak.
Speaker 2 (40:11):
But also like I want to see his force powers
grow even though he's not being trained by a Jedi.
And yeah, I also agree, I wish the title was different.
That just doesn't ring like it just doesn't really know. Yeah,
but you know, I I do trust John Favreul with
the movie. And Dave Filoni is in part of it, right,
Like he's not I mean yeah, he's not any sort
(40:34):
of executive, but he it's mainly Jon Favreau.
Speaker 1 (40:37):
Well, Jon Favreau is for sure the one that's gonna
be directing it.
Speaker 2 (40:42):
So maybe Dave Filoni's a writer.
Speaker 1 (40:44):
Yeah, writer or executive producer. Yeah. Written written by John
fav and Dave Filoni. So yeah, okay, as he's a yeah,
and they're producing as well. So I think now, like
the more that we're speaking on it, what what I
want from it now is if this is gonna be
like the return, Like I feel like this a lot
(41:04):
of it. There's a lot of things writing on this.
It's the first time Star Wars has been back at
the movie since Rise of Skywalker. So I feel like
there's a lot riding on this right now. Yeah, Like
like how I feel like the Mandalorian the like the
show was tasked with launching the Disney Plus service and
it was the first Star Wars show ever and so
(41:25):
that was a big deal live action Yeah, yeah, first
live action Star Wars show ever and that was a
big deal. It was like the first it was like
the selling point for Disney Plus, and now it's tasked
with like another big responsibility to be like to bring
like audiences back to the movies for Star Wars. To me,
what I kind of want from this is for them
(41:47):
to like, I want this to take place like after
Ahsokas season one, but we're also not really sure where
this movie's gonna take place. But if they want to
start building out like a big like facing up against
Thrawn movie, because at the end of the Soca season
one he makes it to like Datha Beer Dath of Meer, right,
so he's back in our in our universe.
Speaker 2 (42:08):
Though, yeah you know Galaxy, Yeah.
Speaker 1 (42:09):
Yeah, Galaxy. Yeah, potentially, if they could try to go
that route, because I mean, there has to be one there,
like there has to be a bad like there has
to be an antagonist in this right, right, like maff
Gideon was for most of for most of the Men, Yeah, exactly,
And now, honestly, I'd be so annoyed. I feel as
maf Gidion again, I feel like bro No.
Speaker 2 (42:29):
I mean, if they made like some sort of reference
or allusions to him, I'd be fine. With that, but like, yeah,
if they could somehow use this as like, and I
don't think this would be their point in the movie,
but like, if it could hopefully somehow restore some faith
in Disney Star Wars number one, because what in hindsight,
(42:50):
like I look at The Mandalorian and I think, like, oh, like,
they definitely prove like they can still make good Star
Wars content, you know, with the mandalin for the most part.
But if yeah, if they could somehow starts shaping up
this period of time to be air the Empire esque
type thing leading up to Thron being the big bad villain,
(43:13):
that would be awesome. And then hopefully they use the
movie as like a pivot point of like, all right,
this isn't gonna be our main thing for the next
x years, but we're trying to prove that we can
still create a story that's well written and people are
invested in it and entertained. But again, it could just
be a Mandalorian Season four and that's it.
Speaker 1 (43:33):
Yeah, man, we'll see, But okay, that's Manor and Grogu.
Let's talk about Indoor. Season two. Didn't get a trailer
for this, but we did get like a behind the
scenes look at the show, which kind of had like
new footage in it. I'm surprised they didn't drop a
full on trailer in this that we could watch. We
got like some details. The second season is going to
(43:58):
take place over four years, and I believe that this
is a twelve episode season. I think that was that
was the first season as well. I imagine every three years,
like you know, a year has passed, right, or every
three episodes a year has passed. Actually, that's exactly what
it says right here for like the details like one
(44:20):
year time jump every three episodes. Ben Mendelssohn is gonna
be back as critic. Forrest Whitaker is back at Sagarera,
but I mean he was in the first in the
first season, so that kind of makes sense. Alan Tudic
is back to voice K two s O. And that's
pretty fucking awesome. And it'll be out in twenty twenty five. Again,
not a ton of new footage, some cool stuff in there.
(44:41):
I do think it's interesting that they're gonna be doing
like you know, the like four years will have gone
by by the end of season two, and at the
end of season two it's supposed to directly tie in
to Rogue one, and we already kind of briefly chatted
about what we want to see from that because the
news about like we already chatted about the about ben
ment and coming back a couple pods ago. Like I mean,
(45:03):
I think where I'm trying to theorize with Alan Tudic
coming back to K two s O, I really want
uh B two emo, Like I want something that happened
to be too emo where they have to like upload
his like memory or whatever like into another droid because
he almost gets destroyed or something and he ends up
becoming K two s So does that make sense?
Speaker 2 (45:24):
That'd be fucking awesome.
Speaker 1 (45:26):
And that's why I feel like, uh, that's what That's
kind of what it seems like, like why Cassie and
has a strong relationship with K two s O and
Rogue one as it is, you know what I mean. So,
so yeah, I hope that happens. But you know, any
thoughts from you.
Speaker 2 (45:41):
Yeah, I definitely wish we got an actual trailer, but
from what they a lot of the dialogue or like monologue,
you know, interview stuff that went on, it sounds like
it's gonna be on a much bigger scale in terms
of like kind of how they said it was like
decision making and the repercussions of decision makes of all
the characters and their decisions have consequences, and that's and
(46:03):
the consequences are huge, Like yeah, and you.
Speaker 1 (46:06):
Want from your characters in like any TV show, you.
Speaker 2 (46:09):
Know, Yeah, Well, and to see it like drawn out
in Star Wars too, I mean we really haven't gotten
that sense, Like you know, the first two trilogies. Essentially
all the characters make decisions in those movies that change
the course of time or like change the outcome of
a future. Essentially, out of all the Star Wars content
that we did get, this is definitely what I'm looking
(46:31):
forward to the most. What I'd like to see a
little bit of is Saw and like his non partisan
part of the rebellion kind of like how they get
to Jeta, Like how they kind of like establish like
a foothold there. I think that'd be really interesting obviously
before it gets fucking blown to smithereens. And hopefully yeah,
(46:55):
I mean hopefully we get a lot of like because
at this point I'm trying to think about the character
the guy who eats the fucking guy who's just like
obsessed with figuring out. I can't remember his name, but
basically he's the guy with the mom and he eats
the freaking blue noodles, you know, you know what I'm
talking about.
Speaker 1 (47:10):
Oh he's I forget his name too, but he he's
like he's obsessed with that other woman from the Empire.
Speaker 2 (47:17):
Yes, where is his like what's his disposition by the
end of the season, Like he's still like super pro
Empire right?
Speaker 1 (47:27):
Yeah? So he essentially there's the riot on His character's
name is Cyril, and uh he's he pretty much uh
goes quote unquote like rogue. He rescues that woman from.
Speaker 2 (47:42):
The riot, right right, ver right, the one who's getting tortured.
Speaker 1 (47:45):
Right, No, No, she's not getting She's like she's like
the one of the Empire officers that's like getting beat
up at the riot and he.
Speaker 2 (47:53):
Likes running the torture. She's the one who's running the
torture on the on right Yeah yeah, okay, yeah, yeah.
So I'd like to see some like some big character developed,
like more character development with him, maybe like a change
of allegiance, change of heart kind of thing with him.
I would there's.
Speaker 1 (48:09):
One way you want you want to see him switch
to like the rebellion side, not like.
Speaker 2 (48:13):
Not necessarily, but I want to see some like big
change within his character, like whether that is going to
the side of the rebellion or like just something, you know,
because he's so like die hard for the Empire in
the first season, Like, I want to see some sort
of switch with him.
Speaker 1 (48:28):
I think, what all happened with him, he'll just get
worse it probably, I.
Speaker 2 (48:32):
Mean, that seems the more likely scenario. The one thing
that I know is probably going to happen in the
show that I really don't want to see, but we're
probably gonna see, and I might cry, is Luthen's gonna die?
Speaker 1 (48:44):
Oh, that'd be crazy.
Speaker 2 (48:46):
Luthen's gonna die some heroic like go out with a
bang kind of thing. There's no way you have a
monologue like that, like towards the end of season one
and then like not not die as a martyr, you
know what I mean. M Yeah, or he dies in
a really tragic way and you just feel terrible for him,
but i'd like to see that. I don't want to
(49:06):
see that, but we're probably gonna see that. And yeah,
like I feel like at this point with Indoor season one,
I mean Indoor Cassian's not like fully like, oh, I'm
part of the rebellion now, like i owe my allegiance
to the rebellion, right like, because he's still kind of
in this position where like he you know, he escaped
(49:26):
from jail. Obviously he doesn't like the Empire, but he's
not like full blown rebellion at this point.
Speaker 1 (49:34):
Yeah, so it would be even even not like not
even because at the end of h I think it's
at the end of season one, he's like, you know what,
like take me in, like kill me or take me
in like let me be part of part of the shit,
you know, right.
Speaker 2 (49:48):
Yeah, it's gonna be awesome again. Season one gave us
that dark part of Star Wars that we didn't really
get to see before. So I think they can make
it even darker, you know, and see like how fucking
bad the Empire really is even on like a political
like a political parallel to like the times that we
live in, you know, to real life.
Speaker 1 (50:09):
And'd be sick. I think that's pretty much it for
for and Or.
Speaker 2 (50:13):
And man Mathma love love watching her character developed as well.
Speaker 1 (50:17):
Yeah, like her role in it all, like playing the
like the political side of everything being part of them
being in like the Galactic Senate to like put on
this facade while also hiding the uprising of the rebellion.
Speaker 2 (50:33):
Right, it's like she's pretty much a political aristocrat that's
secretly funding a coup. That's essentially what she is, which
can it's not the most creative character ever. I mean,
we get that in a lot of other stuff, but
having it in Star Wars is a different thing.
Speaker 1 (50:46):
She's essentially like Palpatine without as without as much political
power and like not a force Caesar, you know.
Speaker 2 (50:55):
And not and not doing it for the dark side essentially.
Speaker 1 (50:59):
Yeah, that's fun. And even hear her say something like
that in and Or season one, how she like learns
to like put up this facade but also how to
like work in the shadows, you know. So yeah, no,
I definitely like that she works in that way. Yeah, Okay,
so that's and Or. Something we did get a trailer
for that we talked about in uh like a couple
(51:21):
pods ago again was Skeleton Crew. We got a first
official trailer like this one. We didn't have to watch
a leaked video for, Like, there's an HD version of
this online. I really, you know what. I really like
this trailer, like it like everyone was saying, how and
I saw that your name was like this and it
still is is like Skeleton Goonies. At first was your
(51:44):
name in the chat and then now it's Stranger Wars,
And that's exactly what it feels like. It's like the
that old school like like Spielberg like sci fi, family friendly, yeah,
et back to the Future, all those ambulan movies like
stand By Me. It's like little kids like riding their
bikes in the woods and discovering something crazy, like that's
(52:06):
exactly what something missed. Yeah, it's just that is that
type of storytelling in the world of Star Wars, which
I think is really cool. Like even from the opening,
like music, it sounds like that old school like like
nineties coming of age teenyah movies.
Speaker 2 (52:21):
It's like inviting. It's it's positive, it's melodic, but like
a little bit mysterious at the same time, you.
Speaker 1 (52:27):
Know, yeah, exactly, And I think that's that's awesome. Like
I I really had like no expectations for this show.
I'm still keeping them pretty low, you know. I kind
of liked what we saw and they like one of
the things that you see them stumble into is like
it's like a buried Jedi temple. And while while we
may not see like like characters like Force users, besides
(52:52):
you know, the final one at the end. Yeah, I
think it will be like full of like Easter eggs
and like lore heavy. Whenever they like explore like that
Jedi temple, Like, I think we'll see like there'll be
stuff for like you know, big Star Wars fans, like
Eli Star Wars fans that'll be like, oh what they
like they did that? Like that's crazy.
Speaker 2 (53:12):
You know. It'll feel a little like also maybe a
little bit of Indiana Jones esque, like maybe Jude Law's
looking for something, you know, and then it kind of
turns into this like treasure hunt kind of thing with
the kids and maybe he doesn't necessarily want the kids
to be involved with they kind of like their hands
are forced and they have to work together like that
kind of like innocent team up kind of thing.
Speaker 1 (53:32):
You know, there's a lot of that. It comes out
in December.
Speaker 2 (53:36):
It would be a fun Christ's Time watch.
Speaker 1 (53:38):
Yeah, exactly. It definitely seems like a good like family watch,
you know, like it's like appropriate for like everybody just
like gather around and watch like.
Speaker 2 (53:45):
This snacks gets your jammies, get the heat going, you get
the fireplace going.
Speaker 1 (53:51):
It seems cool. I'm into it. One of the funniest
things that I saw was that like, we're going to
the suburbs and Star Wars and I think that's that's
that's interesting. I mean, like, you know, the world of
Star Wars is so big, and you know this is
obviously just a planet that we'd never been to before
that looks like the suburbs where where where do you
think this has got to be? Like in the core systems?
Speaker 2 (54:12):
Right?
Speaker 1 (54:13):
Like this is in some outer rim? Do you think
the sub the suburbs are in the outer Rim of
Star Wars?
Speaker 2 (54:19):
Well? No, I mean because come on, I mean, like
it's be realistic. Like whenever you probably think the same way.
But whenever you think of the outer Rim, you think
of outlaws, you know, lack of like the wild role,
the wild wess like that kind of thing. But I
do think occasionally you could probably run into a planet
that's a little bit more developed and has like a
(54:40):
societal hierarchy that kind of thing. But no, I would
probably say it's it's in the like core worlds or
like the mid Rim maybe. But it's interesting too because
I don't really I don't know if it's stated anywhere
like on i'mdb dB or wherever the timeline that that's
another question I have for this too, is like I
have no idea where this takes place or when this
(55:02):
takes place, I should say, I mean, and that makes
me think about like when would I want it to be.
And I feel like it could go one of two ways, right,
Like I feel like it could be like after the
Fall of the Jedi, right because like, oh, you're exploring
like an abandoned or like destroyed Jedi temple. Why is
it destroyed because this is after the Fall of the Jedi?
Speaker 1 (55:23):
Or oh that that is a good indicator? Is that?
Like it seemed like this Jedi temple that they found
had been like run down, right and like unopened and
hadn't been discovered or anything in the world. Like it
was like buried under Like it seemed like it was
buried under like grass and shit, right.
Speaker 2 (55:40):
It almost it almost looked like if you've ever seen
videos of people going like cave diving in like South America,
it's like just this random hole in the ground and
it's fucking you just like go into the abyss, you know,
kind of like reminds me of that. On the flip side,
I think it could also be like during maybe the
like some period in the High Republic. Because Jedi temples
have been around for a long time, it doesn't necessarily
(56:02):
indicate that it's like when the Jedi were like almost extinct.
And it also makes me think that like this show
is also gonna be centered around like not necessarily just
like you know, like family oriented, but kind of and
like a story of growing up and aging, you know,
but also how like the Jedi, the legends of the Jedi,
the presence of the Jedi, and stories of the Force
(56:24):
like impact little kids in Star Wars, Like it'll focus
a little bit more on that, which we do get
some of that in other content, but not it's not
really like the focus of it. Like you know, some
shows you'll you'll see like somebody use the Force, and
then it'll just be this quick shot of like a
kid being like whoa, you know, like that's happened in
some content, but happens in this Yeah, yeah, it happens
(56:47):
in this trailer. That shot is kind of why I
said the whole Indiana Jones thing where he's like using
the Force to get this like golden key. Mm. Just
gave me like an Indiana Jones vibe to it.
Speaker 1 (56:57):
I think, Okay. But I also think, like with what
you're saying, I think that might be an indicator of
when this takes place as well. I'm interested in jew
Laws character because it's revealed that he is a Jedi.
Speaker 2 (57:09):
Ok.
Speaker 1 (57:10):
But when he yeah, because they're like he force grabs
those keys, right, and the kid is like, well, you're
a Jedi, and then like he just smiles. Yeah. But
when he force grabs those keys, it's it's not like
a like a strong like force grab, you know, fair,
He's like.
Speaker 2 (57:26):
Doing it intentionally slow.
Speaker 1 (57:28):
It's either intentional or his connection with the Force isn't like.
Speaker 2 (57:34):
Strong and strong. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (57:35):
Yeah, So yeah, it could either take place like somewhere
in the High Republic, because like you said, Jedi temples
have been around for a long time. Or I could
also see it being like somewhere between like Return of
the Jedi and The Force Awakens. I can see that, yeah,
because even even in the sequel trilogy, like they talk
about the Jedis like they're like, oh, they're a myth,
(57:56):
like they've been gone long enough, we'll see.
Speaker 2 (57:58):
Yeah. I could on also see it being during.
Speaker 1 (58:02):
Like it could take place between any of the trilogies.
Speaker 2 (58:05):
Honestly, it really could, like because I could also see it.
Speaker 1 (58:08):
Being during like between three and four.
Speaker 2 (58:11):
I could see yeah, or like pre Clone Wars, because
it makes me think that Jula's character is maybe gonna
be like some sort of Jedi pad one that gets
like lost or something or goes like, you know, maybe
like a rogue on his own mission or something. Because
I don't know, I just think about the title of
the show and the fact that it's called Skeleton Crew
kind of makes me feel like it's some sort of crew,
(58:34):
like a team of people who are supposed to be
on a mission and then for some reason their crew
got thinned out, they got derailed from their mission or
whatever that kind of thing, you know what I mean.
So I all in all, I think it'll be interesting
to see what they do with it.
Speaker 1 (58:49):
Yeah, I don't know. At the end of the day,
I was pleased about what I saw, and yeah, same,
I'm like, you know, it did spark my interest because
like the Actlie happened and I was like, ah, fuck,
we're cooked. Like before before we saw the first trailer,
like the Acla ended and I was like, fuck, like
we have Skeleton Crew next, Like what the fuck is?
What the fuck is that? Like we're so fucking done
(59:10):
for And now I'm kind of like, oh, Star Wars
is kind of back.
Speaker 2 (59:14):
Yeah. Yeah, Like there's enough content coming out, Like you
have the stuff that we're really looking forward to, you know,
we got and or then we got like some you know,
soft like less sought out content that's kind of gonna
be a filler, but you're still gonna enjoy with like
Skeleton and Crew. And then you have something that we
are either gonna be like pretty disappointed with or again,
(59:35):
we'll really be saying Star Wars is back with Mandalorian
and Grogu. So it's kind of like a nice mixture
of projects like across the spectrum, you know.
Speaker 1 (59:43):
Yeah, so we'll see how it goes. Man, But I'm pumped.
I'm pumped. Yeah, all the all the stuff that we
talked about today, I'm like, yeah, no, this is sick.
I'm down.
Speaker 2 (59:52):
And then hopefully we get more trailers, like you know,
real legit trailers that come out. Hopefully get some more
Marvel stuff soon with you know, Secret Wars. Is Doomsday
actually going to be the title of a movie?
Speaker 1 (01:00:04):
Yeah?
Speaker 2 (01:00:04):
I think? Okay, so that's.
Speaker 1 (01:00:07):
Yeah, I think the I wonder if you saw like
the AI generated trailer I did, you should you should
send me a link so I can watch it.
Speaker 2 (01:00:16):
Pedro Pascal's They did an AI generated one for the
Fantastic Four movie too, and Pedro Pascal's face looked like
so fake. It was such bad AI. But it was nice,
a nice reminder because I forgot that they were like
astronauts and then that's accident happens and that's how they
get their powers.
Speaker 1 (01:00:36):
Yeah, accident happens in space and that's how they get
their powers.
Speaker 2 (01:00:38):
Yeah. Yeah, I will send you the links.
Speaker 1 (01:00:40):
Though.
Speaker 2 (01:00:41):
It's kind of it's kind of funny because it's just
some random person who ever made the videos like voiceover
doing like the narration, and it's just like so bad.
You're like, how do you create a thumbnail and then
the title and be like, oh, like Doomsday a trailer
and it's got like two point three million views and
it's not even like.
Speaker 1 (01:00:59):
The official Yeah I don't know, but no, the Fantastic
Four thing that you watched. It wasn't a real trailer
that they showed at Comic Con. I talked about this
in a pod prior, but no, they someone leaked like
the first Again, it's not real footage or real trailer
because it's kind of like it's kind of like test footage.
It's like stuff that they put together specifically Comic Con
(01:01:20):
like stuff that they put together like last minute. So
I'll send you like the actual first look. It's another
recorded video and uh, but no, I think the Doomsday one.
I think I know you're talking about there because I
saw an AI generated one. I was like, this looks atrocious.
Speaker 2 (01:01:37):
And they just took clips from like Infinity War and
shit and threw it in there and.
Speaker 1 (01:01:41):
With AI generated clips of yeah, of Doom.
Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
Yeah, Spider Man looked like so video game Spider Man. Like.
Speaker 1 (01:01:49):
It's so, I know, that's that's all we have from
from D twenty three. So we talked about Daredevil, Captain America,
and or Skelton Crew Mando. So that's a little of
five projects off the top of your head. Rank them
by excitement.
Speaker 2 (01:02:06):
I'm gonna go and or number one. Yep, I agreed,
we're aligned. Daredevil number two Yep, we're aligned there. Cap
number three, we're aligning there, and I think that's I
think that's a close tie with Mandalori and Grogu, but
mandalorin and Grogu' is a little bit more iffy. So
(01:02:27):
that's why I put it at four mm hmm, and
then Skeleton Crew at five.
Speaker 1 (01:02:33):
I think we're just yeah, we're we're about the same
pretty much. Say yeah, our first three for sure, and
or Devil and Cap. I think I will I will
now I'll go I'll go Skeleton Crew for Mando and
Grogu last, just because season three of Mandor was a
disappointment to me. I just have no idea what they
want to do with a movie.
Speaker 2 (01:02:52):
Yeah, so it's like that's why it's diffy for me.
Speaker 1 (01:02:55):
I mean, Skeleton Crew, it's just like I'd never had
interest to begin with, but than this for Australia kind
of peak Madress.
Speaker 2 (01:03:02):
So I'm like, and it's closer on the horizon too,
so maybe that makes me excited too.
Speaker 1 (01:03:07):
So yeah, that's that's where I'll have it and ORDR
Double Cap Skelting Crew, Mandoin Grogu. But anyways, that's that's
the pot. Any any any closing thoughts from you, No.
Speaker 2 (01:03:18):
I mean, yeah, the last thought for me is just
like I don't know, I feel like with all of
these announcements, it's getting me a little bit more like
because I mean there was probably it was probably around
like episodes like our much earlier episodes of our pods,
where we had so much news and so many releases
and so many trailers of Marvel stuff, like, and we
(01:03:41):
were like so hyped about all of it, and not
just Marvel stuff, but like so much content across nerd
nerd culture, And this is getting me a little bit
packed into that excitement, you know what I mean. Like,
I don't think in terms of in terms of the
Marvel stuff, I'm not I don't think I'm going to
be nearly excited as I was for like face Face two,
Face three stuff. But like it's no, it's definitely we
(01:04:04):
in the whistle.
Speaker 1 (01:04:05):
No, I hadn't thought about it either. It's like we
we talked about so much news and stuff that happened
in the past. I would say like more than like
fifty percent of the projects that we've talked about that
were announcements that happened and got released. I ended up
being like eh on them. And but like when you
when we talked about the announcements, we were very excited.
(01:04:26):
So I feel like we're kind of back in like
talking about announcements that are exciting. But I feel like
this I would go back on what I say and
be like, this stuff actually sounds and looks like you know,
quality stuff, substantial, well at least like at least and
Or and Dirt Devil. I feel like, are gonna be like, like,
I don't think we're gonna miss there, you know.
Speaker 2 (01:04:46):
Even if the other three miss, if those two hit
the nail on the head, were were in good shape.
Speaker 1 (01:04:52):
And again, like when we talked about like it was
either Celebration or D twenty three or something back in
the day, like and Or was not on top of
our list for most anticipated stuff, Like if when we
were ranking them, it probably had to be like and
Or was towards the bottom, and then last one would
be like Skeleton Crew, But and Or ended up being
like the best of the best, you know, So it's tricky,
(01:05:14):
but no, I'm I'm excited for the future for sure.
Speaker 2 (01:05:17):
Now that you say that, let's kind of flip the
question that you asked me, and this will be my
final final closing out or my final final thought. Out
of the five projects that we're talking about now, which
one do you think could be the and or of
these five projects not.
Speaker 1 (01:05:34):
Including actual and or?
Speaker 2 (01:05:37):
Yeah, I feel like that's kind of I don't feel
like you can't include that one. Okay, So the project
out of the four, which one do you think will
be like could be this? Well?
Speaker 1 (01:05:48):
No, okay, no, we I don't think we can do
Daredevil either, because okay, okay, which which one will which
one will be the sleeper? That's that's what you're saying.
Speaker 2 (01:06:00):
Yeah, exactly, I'll go first if you want me to.
Speaker 1 (01:06:04):
Yeah, you go first.
Speaker 2 (01:06:05):
I'll go Skeleton Crew.
Speaker 1 (01:06:07):
I know that. That's where I was leaning towards.
Speaker 2 (01:06:09):
I think it.
Speaker 1 (01:06:09):
I think it will be Skeleton Crew that'll be the
sleeper of them.
Speaker 2 (01:06:12):
And I think specifically for what you were saying about
Easter eggs and like Eagle Eye Star Wars fans, Yeah,
if they do that stuff, I think that'll be the sleeper.
But we could pod nine months from now when some
of this content comes out and be totally fucking wrong.
Speaker 1 (01:06:28):
It'll be like, dude, remember when we said Skeleton Crew
was gonna be a sleeper and it ended up being trash. Yeah,
well I hope it.
Speaker 2 (01:06:36):
I hope it is a sleeper. It that'd be sick.
But okay, yeah, that's the pod.
Speaker 1 (01:06:40):
Folks. Thanks for listening. Please follow us on socials. We're everywhere.
Of course, you can find our podcasts wherever you listen

Speaker 2 (01:06:53):
So peace and if any of you all play magic
out there, hit me up.
Speaker 1 (01:06:57):
Oh yeah, hit up Aaron for magic and me up.
Speaker 2 (01:06:59):
Yeah, Stephen talk about it, you know, but yeah, right, folks,
be
