One up, folks, and welcometo the Kibra Culture Episode one with myself,
Deepak and t Bone Spimoni. Todaywe're gonna chat We got a lot
of a lot of trailers this pastweek that we're gonna get into. We're
gonna talk about episodes five, six, seven, and eight of season three
The Bad Batch, and we're alsogonna get into the X Men. Talking

(00:42):
a lot of animated content today asidefrom the live action trailer stuff that we're
gonna chat about. But before weget into those, Aaron men, how's
it going man? How you doingdoing swell? I am doing swell.
I know we had a big, pretty big catchup last last episode, so
I'll keep it a little short thistime. We're doing while work's been picking
up a little bit. I knowwork's gonna be crazy come summertime and we're

(01:04):
gonna see some really weird cases atthe hospital. I had a nice first
hosting of you know, some activitiesat the at the Crib last last Sunday.
That was awesome. It was niceto have people come over and just
like be thankful for like hospitality andlike complimenting the way that we've set the

(01:25):
place up and obviously it's nice tosee you know, two of my old
coworkers again and you know, seemy sister. And it was fun.
We played a little little settlers withGatan outside. It was a beautiful day.
Played some Switch played some Super Smash, played some Mario Kart. It
was a little short of an evening, but you know, me and Rustlin
were very grateful just to have likepeople over and you know, come come

(01:49):
check the place out. And itwas a great time. And yeah,
I mean, other than that, having a very hard time like every time
I go out shopping somewhere, likeif they sell like home decorps, like
furniture or something, I have sucha hard time just like not buying something
random for the house. Like I'mlike it's like a speech, like I

(02:13):
know the perfect spot for that, you know, like and I know how
like you know all those people thatgo to like you know, Pottery Barn
and buy like that live leftloff lovestuff feel now but like left lefl No,
no, no, in a differentway. No, you know me.
We got carry Fisher up on thewall. You know, we got

(02:34):
a whole bunch of nerdy stuff. But it's like the same concept, you
know, it's like decorating the crib. So yeah, trying to try to
put us slow the roll on thata little bit. But yeah, just
doing like housekeeping stuff and day offtoday, day off tomorrow. It's been
a solid weekend. Sun's out todayin Seattle. It's beautiful, drink a
couple of white claws out in theback patio. It's nice and it's real

(02:57):
nice. Life's going. Well, what about you, Joe, No,
man, I hear it. Iwas out. I was actually about to
ask you, like what kind ofgames you're getting into, but you kind
of laid it all out. Anyother board games besides Caton that you guys
were getting into or was that prettymuch it? So this game that Brian
introduced you were there at one ofour good friend Eric's house when I came
down there last year. It's calledCarcasson, and it's like this tile placing

(03:20):
game and that game. I hatelearning to play new games. Like every
time you guys try to teach mea new game, all the rules are
just I can't absorb it. Ican't absorb it. You got to you
gotta play it multiple times. It'slike, what, like the thing that
I've realized is like playing Carcasson islike it's so much more simple than you
think it is once you played afew times. Ressa and I are at

(03:42):
the point where we already have threedifferent expansions for it. It's just so
fun and it's so easy, butit's like so competitive. At the same
time, we were trying to getour guests on that, but I feel
like they were kind of like theirend of schedule kind of thing, you
know, like they were ready toleave. So in terms of board games,
nah, it's just really been Carcasson. And I don't play chess with

(04:05):
Restin anymore. He's too fucking goodat it. Yeah, that's pretty much
it for just like games in general, haven't like been doing a lot of
because me and rest and bought aswitch a couple of months ago, and
I got Breath of the Wild thinkingthat it was Tears of the Kingdom,
even though I'm glad I brought Breathof the Wild instead because I never played
Breath of the Wild and it seemslike super fun and like super addicting,

(04:28):
but I just like haven't had likethe itch to pick it back up again
yet. We'll see doing other formsof media and other forms of entertainment.
Anyways, I hear it. Ihear it on my end. Uh you
know how it is. Things areall right, some like roadbumps here and
there, but we're getting through them. You know. It's just just a
big adjustment moving across the country, moving from California from a nice big house

(04:53):
to uh, you know, smallapartment. But it's it's fun. It
can be it can be fun,but yeah, but no, I'm something
that I was like scrolling across thefeeds. I had no idea this event
was going on at the Empire StateBuilding and Aaron I was sending you all
these pictures. But there was likesome type of Star Wars pop up event

(05:15):
happening at the Empire State Building andlike Hayden Christensen was there. They had
like a pop up shop like onthirty fourth Street, and I was like,
why did I not know about this? I wish I like had the
time to go at like out.Yeah. I was like a little let
down. But when I finally gotword of what was actually happening, it

(05:36):
was pretty much they were doing ascreening of Empire Strikes Back at the Empire
State Building and the thing that likeI was like Okay, yeah, no,
that sounds great, Like in theory, that sounds awesome, but then
you scroll and look at see ticketprices, it's like, oh, that's
one hundred and thirty five bucks ifI want to watch Empire Strikes Back,

(06:00):
seen it a million times, anduh, just to watch it at the
Empire State Building because that's a lotof money. But no, there were
things that came with that, likethey were gonna be contromary snacks and drinks
and they're all gonna be non alcoholicdrinks. But then after you watch the
movie, it's like they walk youup to like I think, like the
eighty fourth floor and then you justget to you know, walk around and

(06:21):
do like the viewing deck thing andjust get real nice views in New York
City. And I thought, Iwas like, yeah, no, I've
I've paid for like viewing decks before. But I don't know if I was
ready to that. That would havebeen a spur of the moment purchased,
and I wasn't ready for all that. Like Aaron, you saw the pictures
like they're they're they're projecting, they'reprojecting crazy ass pictures like Darth Vader,

(06:43):
Anakin, Palpatine, Darth Maul wasa crazy one. If I was walking
around New York City at night andI just saw Darth Maul up on the
Empire, you know what the fuckis? Yeah, I know that that
show is crazy. It looked reallycool. At least I got to see
pictures, but I'll have to followor like I'm sure there's like something online

(07:04):
where you can just google like StarWars events in New York City and I'll
be able to pull up for onemaybe. And also some of the like
they have like limited time like showcaseslike inside and like limited edition like collectibles
you could buy too. So it'slike, Okay, you're gonna pa one
hundred and thirty five bucks and thenget tempted to spend even more money on

(07:24):
like collectibles and shit, it's like, man, yeah, it's like I
don't know, man, there aresome pretty sweet helmets that they had on
display. I know, I sawlike a row of Rex helmets. But
now I can pull up. Icouldn't. I couldn't do it. I
think one of the reasons why Icouldn't pull up so is because like one
of the days it was like raininghard in New York City and right now

(07:45):
it's like real nice, bright andsunny. So I had to walk outside
and catch some of that. ButI've never appreciated weather more like just for
real. No, I think it'suh. I think it's when you live
in California, in LA you complainabout the track and then like appreciate not
having traffic, and then when youlive in New York, you complain about
the rain and appreciate not having rainbecause no one's driving, you know,

(08:09):
unless you drive for like Cooper Tactisor some shit. I don't know,
you know. Other than that,I've just been watching stuff. Besides the
things that we're gonna talk about today, I've watched I've been watching Invincible season
two. It's been okay so far. Like my main criticism is like what
was the deal with the because theyput out four episodes then took a break,

(08:31):
and I don't know that the breakwas really worth it, Like what,
so what was all that for?Yeah, I don't know, but
it's I'm still liking it. I'mstill tuning in every week and then Aaron,
Aaron, don't come for me onthis one, Okay, But I
watched UH in my in my hoursof working tons of overtime during the week,

(08:54):
I went to Disney Plus and Ithrew on Taylor Swift the Era's tour
and come on, bro, don'tdo that, dude, this shit Okay.
When I threw it on and Idid not know what was what I
was like expecting, but this shipis like three and a half hours,

(09:16):
I was like, oh my fuckinggod. Well, I guess that's that's
probably the standard length of a concert. But but no, okay, before
you say anything, I'll say thisreal quick. You know, production,
the production and the visuals are fuckingnuts. It's quite a show. You
can log it on letterbox and uh. I gave it a three and a

(09:39):
half out of five, mostly basedon like visuals and some songs that I
knew. For the most probably Ididn't know any of the songs. But
yeah, so I just like, okay, to be fair and like to
you know, get on your sidea little bit. I did see like
some previews for it, and I'mlike, okay, this could be entertaining,

(10:01):
like in its own way, wouldI ever watch it for like listening
to Taylor Swift's music. No,and mind you that, like I don't
like dislike Taylor Swift like the onlyreason I'm jazzed up about it is the
whole Travis Kelsey Chiefs thing, andlike I don't even have necessarily a huge
problem with that. It's just likeI'm just tired of hearing about it mostly,

(10:22):
you know what I mean, Likeit just it's like coming through my
socials like a little bit too much, Like it's a little bit over now.
But but no, like I candefinitely see from like a production standpoint,
how it could be like a prettygood because it's like a documentary pretty
much, right, it's actually notat all. It's just her concert.
It's just it's a three and ahalf hour concert at least three hours.

(10:45):
Yeah, that's is that not?I haven't been to a concert in a
while, Isn't that? Is thatnot? Like? Is that not?
I don't know, I'm not I'mnot a very avid concert goer. But
I feel like that's kind of likepushing it a little bit because because usually
in concerts, like it might bethat full length of like that length of
time, but like it's not necessarilyjust like the artist or the performer doing

(11:07):
it for that full three and ahalf hours or three hours or whatever.
You know what I mean, ohyeah, like three hours usually clue,
yeah, like for three hours.Yeah, and I'm sure she was trying
to do like every single one ofher albums in like three and a half
hours, or like the Big Bangers. I mean, if you put on
playing Space, like you know,I like, you know, might you
know, tap a foot or twoor maybe I might get move in a

(11:31):
little bit. Yeah, I geta little swifty. But like but now
living in New York City, it'sit's like it's ingrained in you. It's
like you're you're defaulted as swifty onceyou get I get all of my all
of my coworkers are it's insane.I'm not, Yeah, I'm not.
I'm not hating. I'm like,I'm not gonna hate on you for it,
Joe, because like, second Ihate on you for it and I
go watch it, then I'm justa hypocrite. You know, No you

(11:52):
don't have to watch it. Yeah, three three and a half out of
five for me for the eras too. But yeah, that's it. That's
all that's going on with me.Oh man. But okay, before we
start talking some trailers, let's justtake a quick break for some ads,
all right, and we're back andone more thing on the Air's tour before

(12:15):
we move on. And Aaron andI just watched this video together. And
this is why I watched the Airstour in the first place, is because
this Twitter account that I follow calleddiscussing Film. I'm sure if you're on
Twitter and you're like a movie fan, you know what discussing film is.
They posted the first trailer for theAras tour on They're saying, it's like,

(12:37):
oh, it's coming to Disney Plus, and then someone quote retweeted it
saying, what if Taylor Swift performedthe Airs tour in the Harkenin Stadium on
Gidea Bribe and this is this islike the peak of like Dune coming out,
right, so everyone is absolutely Dunepilled. And then someone quote retweeted

(12:58):
that with like the the trailer thatDiscussing Film posted like the official teaser,
and then they made it black andwhite and they put Hans Zimmer's like Harken
and Arena's score over it, andit's the most perfect thing that I've ever
heard. It is such a goodedit, it's it's incredible. I have

(13:20):
to I have to post this somewhere, but but yeah, that's that's how
I like made my way to watchingtheir store. Watching that video made me
feel way too many ways at thesame time, celebrating the birth the Holy
Birthday of Faire out there and openingbefore the show Taylor Swift under Our Black

(13:43):
Sun, and it just makes methink, like because when I when I
saw the hearken and arena scene,I'm like, dude, is this like
Nazi Germany or like, like whatis happening here? And then I see
them do the rendition of Taylor swiptlies. No, I don't know if she
has little eyes, but that's awhole lot of show you. I'm gonna

(14:03):
show I'm gonna show you one morepick. Oh my god, that is
too good. You got like theshadow figures in the background too. Yeah.
Oh man, whoever did that isgenius though. That's that's really good.
And then someone else tweeted Taylor's DesertTailor's rockus Taylor's version. No,
No, I am the Duke ofpop culture. Oh man. I love

(14:28):
Twitter. Never never change, neverchanged Twitter. But okay, let's talk
about some trailers. First trailer thatI want to chat about the Penguin.
The thing about this is that beforethey dropped the first Panking trailer. They
also announced that The Batman two hasbeen delayed to twenty twenty six, like
years years from now. It feelslike a million years because it's been delayed

(14:52):
like a couple times already, andthat's because like strikes and stuff, and
you know, it is what itis, but twenty twenty six is so
far bro. But with that, they released a first Penguin trailer. It's
gonna come out this fall. Thetrailer looks pretty dope. I'm pretty sure
Matt Reeves still involved. He mightbe, he might be directing some of

(15:15):
it maybe, but I'm pumped forthis. It kind of just looks like
a like, I mean, they'reputting it on HBO Max, so I
imagine it's gonna be like like somesome like rated R Batman shit, and
he's gonna be like a He's gonnabe like a mobster. And even Colin
Farrell has been on record saying howthis show is like it's like overly violent
sometimes and it's just like the riseof a Mobster, and I'm in for

(15:37):
that, Like I'm I'm in forsome nitty gritty crime shit set in the
Batman universe. But now I reallydug this trailer. What do you think
about it? The trailer was great. And let me also say, like,
I don't think twenty twenty six isas far as far away as we
think it is, because I wasjust thinking about that today actually, and
like we're almost into April, whichmeans we're almost like we're a third of

(15:58):
the way into twenty twenty four oralready twenty twenty six. Ain't that far
away? But nothing in the passageof time. Yeah, man, it's
just it's like the older we get, the faster time goes by. But
no, the trailer was awesome. You kind of hit me off guard with
it today too, because you're like, hey, yo, like make sure
you watch the trailer. I didn'teven know that this was like a project
before you texted me that today.Oh really, No, I did not

(16:21):
know this was a thing at all. Oh damn. Yeah no, this
has been in the works. Youknow, the fact that it's like a
little bit of like a spinoff iskind of to me. It's like,
ah my god, like more spinoffs, more spinoffs, more spinoffs. But
no, I hear that. Ihear that from number one getting back into
that world, and it looks likethe cinematography and the music is all going
to be like very similar to TheBatman with Robert Pattinson, like getting back

(16:47):
into that kind of like dark, crime ridden vibe. Like I'm very excited
for that. Colin Ferrell plays anamazing penguin. I'm so glad he's back
as and like the the way thetrailer goes, it's like it's pretty much
him like reciting this story about thisfamous like mobster that he used to know.
But it's it's almost like the storyhe's telling becomes like triumphant and it

(17:11):
goes upwards as like what you're seeingthe penguin do kind of goes like darker
and like, for lack of betterterms, more fucked up at the same
time, you know what I mean, Like there's this weird like parallel and
I mean, who does want tobe like deeper inside the streets of fucking
Gotham? You know what I mean. I think it's it should be good.
I think the fact that's coming outon HBO Max means it's gonna have

(17:34):
great production value. And yeah, like in terms of like his actual like
story, like his solo story,I don't know if it's gonna be an
origin story. The trailer didn't reallymake it seem like it's an origin story.
It's more of like, no itit kind of it's gonna take Yeah,
it seems like it's gonna take placeafter the Batman. Gotham's gonna be

(17:56):
flooded, right, and like he'sgonna be like trying to pick up the
pieces in like how can he hispower vacuum? Yeah, yeah, I
think that'll be really good, especiallyconsidering like I can't wait for The Batman
too. I think it'll be anice little filler. Yeah, same same
vibes as The Batman. I'm prettystone for it. It was a good
surprise today seeing that. Seeing thattrailer, it looks sick. All right,

(18:18):
So but what about this House ofthe Dragon Season two? We got
two trailers. We got a TeamBlacks trailer and a Team Greens trailer.
So my first reaction was this.I watched both trailers and then I was
like, fuck Team Green Bro.The Green trailer was straight up lies in
propaganda against the one true Air Rayneurits are gearing Team Blacks Bro, Team

(18:42):
B Yeah no, the High Towerscan go like kick rocks Bro. Fuck
the High Towers. Oh man,but no, this looks this looks fun.
I do think that I think thisseason will be a little better in
terms of like it's telling, becausethe first one had to do like the
first like four or five episodes withlike the younger version of Raynier and her

(19:07):
name's escaping me but her friend, and then they have to do that time
jump to where they're like adults now. But I don't I don't think we're
gonna do that in season two.I think it's like it's just gonna be
all it's just gonna be like thesame cast all throughout with no time jumps.
But at the same time, Ihaven't read the books, so that

(19:29):
could be a terrible prediction, supposedlybecause one thing I know from the books
is that like the Targanians do reallyfucked up shit to kids, like especially
the High Towers kids. And Aaron, did you ever finish watching the first
season? I will no, Pleaseforgive me my loldes, but I have
not. Okay, so do youmind if I spoil finale for you?

(19:52):
Okay, So one of one ofRainier's kids ends up in a a fight
with I think Amen Targarian and they'relike duking it out in the skies,
and I think Amen might have likelost control of his dragon or something,
and his dragon pretty much just ateand killed one of Rainier's kids. And

(20:18):
with that being said, that happensin the finale. Supposedly the first episode
of season two is going to becalled like a Son for a Son,
So I think, like Damon's gonnado some crazy shit. And it's super
funny because supposedly this episode comes outon Father's Day. Oh God, some
sick humor. Yeah, if true, but yeah, no, we'll see

(20:42):
fucking green. But what do youthink of these trailers? I do respect
their decision to try to make thislike divide between Like the divide is there,
Like there's definitely like you know,it's it's pretty much like Targerian Civil
War, Like the divide is therein the story, but like the way
that they try to like realize thatand like visualize that on the screen by

(21:03):
releasing two trailers. It's like prettymuch seventy five percent of the trailers.
Both trailers were the same, wasthe same shit, but they tried to
like make it from the high towersone perspective. Yeah, like one perspective
and then another and it's like, you guys didn't really do a good job
about this, and I'm sure there'sgonna be like another final final trailer.
I don't know, no, no, no, I overall, Like I

(21:26):
mean, we've I've been on recordsaying this in past podcasts like House of
the Dragon, like those those setup episodes, they just bored me for
some reason. I don't know whatit was, like the whole setup and
the time jump thing. I justdidn't get as invested into it. But
like I will say, watching bothof these trailers, it looks like it's
gonna be some heavy action and it'sreally truly gonna be like Targarry and Civil

(21:51):
War, and we're gonna see somecrazy shit on the screen hopefully, which
makes me look forward to it alot. I mean, I'm gonna I'm
gonna have to rewatch season one beforeit comes out, just so I know,
get everything like it out of mymen, like in my mind and
understand the story. It's it's kindof funny because it just makes me more
excited for and that's speaking about theHouse of the Dragon in general. But

(22:11):
just like there's a lot of goodshit coming out in June. Oh yeah,
what it's uh, we got theBoys coming back, I think in
June, Elden Rings sequel, EldonRings sequel, And then we're about to
talk about another trailer that also comesout in June. The Bear comes back
for season three in June. Youknow, June's a great month for TV.

(22:32):
Yeah, just to half up mythoughts, though, I will definitely
rewatch or like rewatch. Slash finishedseason one and I will I'll definitely be
tuning into seasons you know. Ithink I think you'll like it more this
time around, just because you'll beable to You'll be able to binge it,
and it'll it'll be a good binge, I think. Yeah, I
think that's why I didn't like thefirst season, even though I haven't finished.

(22:53):
It's just like, you can't bedoing this episode by episode when literally
all of it is like not thatexciting dialogue and just kind of like slow.
I think that's sure. No,Yeah, I'm definitely looking forward to
season two. I think I didlike season one more, definitely more than
you did. But yeah, no, I'm due for rewatch as well,

(23:14):
so I'm looking forward to that rewatch. But Okay, last and final trailer,
The Acolyte Live Action Star Wars isback. First off, I'm gonna
go on another rant about Star Warsfans because Star Wars fans, oh please,
I like, dude, Star Warsfans are like, no, this
phrase is has never rung more true. No one hates Star Wars more than

(23:38):
Star Wars fans. It's so true. Why are people so mad about this?
Like why are people so upset aboutthis trailer? I don't understand.
I don't know, dude, Like, if you go to like the Star
Wars comments for this trailer, likeyou go to their instagram, look at
the comments, it is hell onEarth. And even when you fucking when

(24:00):
they when they posted the first posterposted the poster, Yeah, when they
shared the first poster, like, people were making such weird edits of it,
and I'm just like, you guysare so fucking lame. And people
were complaining that like ooh, there'sthere's like blood on this poster. They're
they're trying to make Star Wars superedgy, and it just makes it cringing.
I'm like, what the fuck isgoing on here? Like I thought

(24:22):
the poster was kind of cool,Like it's not like we haven't seen blood
in Star Wars before, like wesaw blood on fucking Finn's helmet and Force
Awakens. Yeah, I don't know. I think people are just grasping at
you, just like and just complainingto complain. And I thought like the
MCU fandom was bad, but Ithink Star Wars is like ten times worse.
I think I saw also that it'slike it has more dislikes than likes

(24:48):
on YouTube, even though it stillbroke Lucasfilm's records. Yeah, like on
a trailer. I didn't know that, but it got so many dislikes.
It's like, what the fuck ishappening, dude. Anyways, Yeah,
fuck the haters. I'm pumped.I am going to I'm definitely gonna give
it a chance. I've been likepretty lukewarm on like Mando season three.

(25:10):
I like the Soca, but Ithink my expectations were too high for ex
Soca, but I did like it. There's nothing that's made me like that
I've that I've watched from Star Warsthat makes me want to behave like some
of these people on the internet, you know what I mean. It's like,
I don't know, it's it's justinsane behavior. But for me personally,

(25:30):
I'm I'm mostly just excited to bein this new era of Star Wars
that's outside of the Skywalker saga.Yeah. Man, well what about you?
Any thoughts on the Acolyte trailer?Well, your your last comment definitely
is My number one thing is beingin a different time period, different era,
don't have the Skywalker saga, Like, there's new stories to be told

(25:51):
or stories that might exist. AndI'm not saying this necessarily for the Acolyte
because I have no idea what thisshow might be. Well, I have
a little bit of an idea whatthe show could be about. I don't
think it's going to be based offanything that's already been written in like a
comic book or a book. Mynumber one takeaway, like my I wouldn't
say my number one takeaway, Butmy favorite part about this trailer is at

(26:12):
the very end where it does theclassic like Disney Plus, like you know,
the rainbow's going over like from thed Onto like the Plus, but
instead of like a blue background,it's a red background. I'm like,
okay, okay. It makes meget back into my feels about how I
felt about and Or and Joe,I know you. I think it's the
same Twitter account that you were mentioningearlier discussing film or no, it's culture

(26:37):
crave and they did like these cultures. Yeah, like just some bullet points
about like what they knew about theAcolyte. And the one that stuck out
stuck out to me the most wasthe fact that it's going to have like
the same narration style of and oryou compound that with now we've got the
trailer for it, or like thefirst trailer at least, and like we
know it's definitely going to be adark side of Star Wars. And tying

(27:02):
that in with what you were sayingabout there being blood and having Star Wars
trying to be edgy is just likeokay, but if you're gonna make that
kind of comment, I feel likeme as a Star Wars fan personally,
like Star Wars has always been likeheroic and triumphant except for the fall of
Vader, and like Revenge of theSith, Like the Revenge of the Sith
is literally the darkest part of StarWars. This is what I want as

(27:26):
a Star Wars fan, Like Idon't need heroicism or courage all the time,
Like I kind of want to seelike the opposite end of it,
Especially when you're telling a story ofa dichotomy between good and bad and good
and light and dark, I wantto see the dark side of it sometimes.
But specifics in the trailer, thechoreography I think is going to be
great, especially that little knife fightbetween I don't know the characters' names,

(27:49):
but she kind of looked like RebeccaFerguson for a little bit, the one
in the Hood, and then Ithink that's carry on Moss Trinity from it
and from the Matrix. Yeah, she almost kind of looked like a little
blend of like Catlin Stark and RebeccaFerguson for a second. Yeah, yeah,
weird, right. Did you seethat someone else had mentioned that to

(28:11):
me? Yeah, someone else saidlike, oh, that it's the girl
from Game of Thrones. I'm like, no, no, no, it's
it's it's yeah, shout out Trinity. Love that. Like there's some potential
for some really good choreography. Soit's supposed to be one hundred years before
the Phantom Menace, so it's likethe tail end of the High Republic,
which I don't know a lot about, Like the only things I really know

(28:33):
about the High Republic are what Iknow from the Master and Apprentice book,
which is Qui gon Jin and obiWan when obi Wan was really young,
But it doesn't really speak a lotabout the High Republic era. I know,
me Joe and Brian had like abrief discussion about it, and like
this is more of a time periodwhere like the Jedi are more of like
galactic police and like Brian said,it really well like pretty much like unp

(29:00):
keepers comparing to you know, thethree trilogies where the Jedi are more of
like there's supposed to be peacekeepers orat least like the prequel trilogy, they're
supposed to be peacekeepers or not peacekeepers. Yeah, peacekeepers, that's what mace
Windu says. We're keepers in thepeace, not soldiers. Other little tiny
things in the trailer. I thinkthe ending, like when they do like

(29:22):
kind of like the title card revealis the most interesting part. Like when
it does like the whole Acolyte thingat the end of the title card,
like that ring is spinning around beforeit comes to center. That's not a
ring, that is an eclipse. That is the moon and then the sun
behind it and it's this whole thingabout apparently there's two sisters in the plot,

(29:47):
and it's like one of them turnsbad because the Jedi were supposed to
help save the other sisters village andthey didn't. I don't know how much
I believe the plot leak, butI do like the idea of it being
an eclipse, like a whole likedark and light kind of meeting and not
necessarily like opposing each other immediately, kind of being like more of like a
I don't know, like a Yinand Yang kind of thing, like you
can't have one without the other.Like I hope that's kind of a trope

(30:11):
throughout throughout the show, like notnecessarily saying that everything that it is dark
is bad. I don't know,I need another trailer then I need to
do a little bit more investigating. But I'm so excited that live action is
back. We saw some yellow lightsabersin there. Yeah. I think there's
gonna be a lot of promise tothe show. I'm trying to not set
my expectations too high or like dotoo much investigation like what it's supposed to

(30:34):
be about, kind of like howJoe said, like he was like his
expectations were a little high for aSoka. I think mine were two,
So I'm like, you know, tone those down a little bit. And
yeah, no volume, no volumeon the Acolade. Oh yeah, no
I volume on it. I thinkit's gonna be good, it's gonna be
solid. No. Yeah. Andthe showrunner her name is I'm not I

(30:55):
don't think I'm gonna say this right, Leslie Heedlind. She was pretty much
saying, like where her influences comefrom. Pretty much she's saying, like,
narratively, the show is supposed tobe similar to and or. I
like that. She said how she'sgonna try to do like like try to
like you know how we were sayinghow the Jedi are like they might be

(31:17):
portrayed as like galactic police. Inthis she's pretty much saying, how,
like the Jedi has now become likean institution. So I think that's like
kind of interesting. Besides like filminfluences stuff. And this comes from the
Star Wars website, like this islike an interview she gave. She's of
course infusing like she's a big fanof the originals. She's also there's also

(31:41):
current books that she's taking from.Doesn't specify Witch books, but she's also
tying in like some Legends lore intoit, some Star Wars legends, and
like some of the some of thecurrent like High Republic stuff. She also
says here there are a couple ofreally big EU ideas that are utilized both
early in this year reason later inthis series could be seeing some really really

(32:02):
different, really different Star Wars stuffhere. I like that because I think
I think I was hoping for thatkind of like image or like vision from
a director talking about Ahsoka, likeyou know, extracting things from the Throng
trilogy, which is technically extended universeor legends. So I like that.
I like that somebody's heading the projectand they have that in mind. That

(32:25):
again, I feel like every timewe talk about a new Star Wars project,
like there's so much content out thereand you have so much to like
extract from or expand upon that youcan make a really good show and make
a show that's like you can stillwatch even if you're not super into Star
Wars outside of that. And Ihope this kind of theme or like mantra

(32:45):
rings true. And this is aterrible way to say it, but it's
like like like the perspective of theJedi from certain people of like, yeah,
they're pretty much like magic Wilders whokidnap babies to join their cult.
And it's like I saw that somewhereand I'm like, holy fuck, that's
dark. But you know what, there's a hint of truth to that.

(33:07):
There's a little hint of truth tothat, and I like our median said
that or something. I think itis a comedian. Yeah, I think
you're right because I've heard that somewherebefore too. It's like a viral.
Yeah, it is like a virallike meme or it was in a show
or something. I don't know.Yeah, no, but you're right,
like like it's out there and likedamn, there is some truth to that.
And I hope they don't like fullyextort that meme idea about it,

(33:30):
but like show kind of that perspectiveof like, okay, like the Jedi
aren't these like heroes and saviors ofthe galaxy that you think they are.
She also said, like in thewriter's room, so since since she is
herself like a big Star Wars fan, she personally wanted to or purposefully wanted
to include somebody that was not aStar Wars fan at all and just didn't

(33:52):
know well, not that they dislikedStar Wars, but they just didn't know
anything about it, just that like, here's this story. Tell me what
you think about it from like anoutsider's perspective. And I think a lot
of people hate it on that, but I think that's pretty smart, you
know, just just to observe itas a story without like prior Star Wars

(34:12):
knowledge or like a Star Wars likemindset, because I feel like sometimes if
if you know everything Star Wars andyou're like, it's like okay, then
I have to tell it in thisspecific Star Wars way of storytelling if that
makes sense, you know of cagedinto a certain certain line of storytelling.
So I think it's pretty cool thatshe wanted to involve like a writer or
writers that like storytelling wise, Doesthis make sense? Yeah? And it's

(34:37):
like I feel like that could goboth ways too, Like I love that,
but yeah, I also feel likesome people team's not like that,
you know, yeah, well,And I also feel like some critics or
like people want to be critics arelike, well, that's just like people
who work for Disney trying to likepander to like the largest audience they possibly

(34:58):
can to sell their product, rightcauseretty much what we're doing is taking somebody
that doesn't want to know Star Warsand sell them in Star Wars. But
I don't think that's like the motiveof what she's doing, Like she wants
to like have like a full perspectiveon how to tell the story. Yeah,
I think it's cool. I think, like, you know, a
lot, there's a lot of behindthe scenes stuff that's like coming out from
it that I'm just like, yeah, no, this sounds like sounds like

(35:20):
a lot of care and like thoughtand thinking we're put into making this like
a good show, you know.So I hope it's good, you know,
And that's all I really have.Yeah, I know, but like
you said, the action looks reallycool. That last seems sick. The
red lightsaber flying through the cutting throughthe trees, a huge squad of Jedi
just like getting ready to fight. It reminded me of those I mean,

(35:42):
not nearly on the same epic scale, but those those Old Republic trailers.
Oh my god, the cinematic scenesin the Old Republic. I don't think
we've seen like an army of Jedifight an Army of Smith before, you
know, like on on live action, you know what I mean. Only
time we've ever seen an army ofJedi was like the Battle for Geonosis.

(36:04):
Yeah, but that was against abunch of Clinkers. But yeah, no,
it's always like multiple Jedi against likeone Sith or something. Anyways,
those are the trailers before we getinto Bad Batch and X Men. We're
just gonna take one more break forads. All right, So episodes five
through eight of the Bad Batch.Episode five the Return, I'll be honest

(36:25):
with you, man, Like theygo back to the snow planet that was
in episode two where Crosshair was. They they they're trying to get some information
on front for for Tantis. Whatdid they get? What did? They
get attacked by a giant ice worm? And I'm just like like this.

(36:45):
I think this episode came out likea week after Dune, and I was
like, oh my god, man, like worms in the sand, worms
the ice. This shit's crazy. But I thought this episode was fine,
Like I was in crazy about it. You know, Crosshair is like trying
to makemends with the team. They'relike untrusting of him, like rightfully,

(37:05):
so yeah, and then they getwhat they needed to get and that was
pretty much it. But any anythoughts from you on this episode, Yeah,
just like on the team, itwas just really interesting to It was
interesting to see that, like honestly, most of the team was pretty much
welcoming cross Hair back except for Hunter, And it was very interesting to see

(37:27):
like Crosshair kind of flip the scripton Hunter and hear it from cross hair
perspective on like what happened and likenot trying to pin Hunter as a bad
person, but like just telling himlike how he felt, like what happened
to Omega and what you know, doesn't it doesn't go fully into what happened
with him in the Empire. Butno, like the whole reunion not being

(37:52):
fully cohesive is the right way totell it. Because there's definitely some some
bad blood between cross and the restof them, but mostly Hunter and I
think that they they resolve it prettywell over not just this episode, but
the following ones. You know. There there was one moment I was like,

(38:13):
oh my guy, my guy Hunteror no no Hunter, Crossair when
he starts like picking up all theall the clone Homets that are on the
floor, I was like, ohman, this guy. Yeah, paying
his respects. You know, yeahthat that was a nice moment. Yeah,
oh that that's that's pretty much it. Not a ton happened. But
episode six infiltration, this is thisis where I thought the series really started

(38:37):
cooking. Episode six infiltration, heavyespionage vibes, you know that, like
espionage shit in Star Wars is probablymy favorite type of Star Wars. But
Rex, Rex our goat is back. After watching this episode, I honestly
felt like if the Bad Batch hadmore of Rex and like the clones that
he has that are like free fromOrders sixty six, I feel like it

(39:01):
would have made it would have mademe like the show like even more,
just to like, you know, like a quick like three two or three
episode arc, like without the badBacher Omega, just it's just Rex and
the other clones just like doing randommissions like this. I think that would
have been really cool. I thinkGregor's Gregor's there. You know, I

(39:23):
can't I can't get the names.I don't know all of them. I
only know Rex, But who didyou who else did you pick out?
Well? The only reason that Iremember him so well is just because it's
like in Rebels, there's like thewhole it's Rex, Gregor, and Wolf
that are on the like and Wolfis here too. Wolf's here too.

(39:45):
It's like the a t atst andthey're in like the desert planet and they
like swing for Jupas, which islike again giant sandworms essentially, Like Gregor
is the one that has like thelike the bad eye, you know,
like the got it, like thewhite eye. It's like it's like so
comforting to like see them all back, like at least in one episode together.

(40:06):
Yeah, definitely. But no,every time I see one of those
like brainwashed clones, I always thinkone of them is gonna end up being
tech and I'm like, fuck, dude, They're they're gonna do it.
I feel like it's coming. They'regonna make it like this huge moment.
I'm like I'll be like, damn, guys. I wouldn't put it past
them, honestly. I mean Ihope they don't. I don't know.

(40:27):
I feel like TeX's death was notnecessary, but like it's so impactful.
Don't don't reverse it on us.Don't like take the emotion away from us,
you know, well, no,it could be more emotional once like
once he gets it's like scrapping withsome of the bad match and then they
knock his helmet off. They're like, damn, can't you hear Hunter?
Like tick tick. I feel likewhy they're they have to do that is

(40:53):
because they had Crosshair completely explain whatthat program was, you know, like
they completely erase who you are soonce like Tech if it is Tech in
the future, Like if one ofthem shows up and ends up being Tech,
he's legit, just not going toknow who he is. Yeah,
and they'll have to do something. And I think it was at the end

(41:15):
of this episode where Wolf comes backor seven. Yeah, the coolest armor.
The commandos are fucking crazy that that'ssome cool ass clone armor right there.
Dude. When we saw that inlike an old ass Star Wars video
game with the fucking stars Star Warscommandos in my commando dude, that ship
I saw that again, I waslike, damn, bro, the nostalgia

(41:37):
they're like that past. Yeah, yeah, you know. Any thoughts on
extraction, I mean they kind ofescape, they escaped the planet. Yeah,
and like I was very like surprisedat first that like Wolf did let
them go. But at the sametime, I'm not because Wolf was in

(41:58):
the same like batch of clones aslike Rex and everybody else. So like
like if you're if your chip malfunctioningis like an age or like time thing,
that would add up because they're likepart of the same batch essentially.
But no, I like I didget a little like internal tear when I
when I saw like Wolf like letthem go, still part of the squad,

(42:21):
still part of the squad, veryvery very wholesome, very wholesome.
He's like kind of doing his ownbad Batch thing within the empire, you
know, That's what it feels like. I mean, eventually he has to
end up with all them again,so I'd like to see how that how
that comes to be. That bringsus to episode eight, Bad Territory.
With this episode, uh Finnick shandcomes back and uh, Aaron, remember

(42:45):
when you said how like the storystart to feel more linear for you?
Yeah, So this this episode kindof felt like it it kind of returns
to form of what all the animatedshows do. It goes on like kind
of like a little random adventure. So this episode honestly felt like like a
Mandalorian episode to me, because Ifeel that most Mandalorian episodes are always like

(43:08):
I need something from you, it'slike, okay, well before I give
that to you, you have todo something for me, you know,
and then they that's pretty much thebulk of the episode. They they go
retrieve this target that I think FenixSchand is after this person, so that
Fenix Schand will give them this pieceof information that they need. She doesn't

(43:28):
even end up giving that piece ofinformation to them by the end. She's
like, yeah, I don't haveit, but I know who I can
get. I can go to toget it for you, and I'll be
in touch. But no, theydid tease like, uh, like there's
gonna be a bounty hunter going afterthe bad Batch probably by the next episode
or something. Do you have anyguesses for this bounty hunter? I have

(43:52):
no idea, dude, And likethat's my biggest takeaway is like who is
she double crossing with? Yeah,so I'm not sure if Like so I'm
trying to think. In the Mandalorian, when we get Fennix shanned, that
was for sure the first time she'sever met Boba fet right, because I
was seeing like maybe it can belike a younger Boba, Like whether or

(44:14):
not it's the first time she's evermet Boba fet. I can't say that,
but it's the first time we've everseen them meet on screen. I
mean, both of them, beinglike prolific bounty hunters, they've probably met
before, but like us as anaudience seeing them on screen, that's probably
the first time. So I feellike that's possible, or you know,
I think that's possible. And itwouldn't even be that young of a Boba

(44:35):
Fet, Like it would be likekind of like a old teenage Boba Fet
because we saw a young Bloba Fetand Clone wars, so like that maybe
like or early twenties, like maybebefore he's twenty. But no, that
that would be cool because he's likea slower aging clone or I feel like

(44:57):
I feel like I always forget thatthat he's like technically a clone, and
so to get him to interact withlike some defective clones and you know,
all that, it it kind ofmakes sense. But I just don't know
if it's gonna happen, you know, because I don't know if it really
makes sense as far as Timeline isconcerned, right, but if cad Bane
maybe there you go, that makesa lot more sense. Actually, it's

(45:23):
probably gonna be cad Bane. Iam. I just thought of that too.
I mean, yeah, doesn't lovecad Bane And and he had his
premiere in the animated show. Thatmakes way more sense actually, and he
was in The Mandalorian as well,he did for for a quick No,
he wasn't in the Mandalorian. Hewas? It was I thought, right,

(45:46):
was it? No, because that'sthe whole thing where like this is
it? Yeah? No way,see just goes to show you Orian season
two and a half exactly stars aBook of cad Baine versus Yeah. No,

(46:07):
that who is cad Bane in theBook of Damn? But that that
means it's even like it's reasonable thatit's likely that whoever that person that Fennick
Shand is talking to could be eitherone of them. It could be Bobo
or it could be cad Bane. But okay, yeah, that's that's all
I had on on EPISODEA. Anythingelse? No, all right, dope.

(46:31):
Now we're pivoting, pivoting from oneDisney ip to another. We're going
into x Men the animated series.Question for you, did you ever watch
X Men animated series in the ninetiesgrowing up? Have you watched any nit
like since then? No, I'llI'll just say that the if you ask

(46:53):
me, like, what X Mendo, I remember, it's first class
the movie, okay. And thenthe one where Magneto lifts up like the
entire like baseball field or whatever thesports I think that's that's Days of future
Past, I think. And Magnetois is Michael Fassbender, right, Yes,

(47:15):
those are my biggest memories of XMen. So, like I'm a
little bit of a virgin going intothis so to speak. Sure, sure,
sure, Okay. So I thinkI've seen all the Fox X Men
movies. I don't really remember theones from the early two thousands, like
the ones with like like the veryfirst ones with Hugh Jackman and Patrick Stewart
and like James Marsden, you knowall them. Yeah, I don't remember

(47:37):
the titles, but I remember,I know what you're talking about. You
know. There there was like XMen, then there was like X Men
Last Stand, and then idea.I think X two was one of them.
It might have been like X twoUnited or something. I don't know.
So I've seen all those, andthen I remember like glimpses of the
animated show from when I was akid. But then once they release them

(48:00):
on Disney Plus I think maybe duringthe pandemic. I watched like two seasons
of it. It's pretty fun.I didn't see all of it, though,
But that being said, I thinkit ran for like five seasons,
and they pretty much tell you, like they recap everything that happened in the
in the season five series finale, like Professor X got assassinated. He's dead.

(48:22):
And there's a character in this hisname is Morph. He's the one
that I don't know if you remember. He has like a white face and
you can transform into anybody pretty much. So where I was slightly thrown off.
Where I got a little loss isbecause Morph died I think in episode
one, episode one, season oneof the X Men animated show. And

(48:45):
then I guess something happened between seasonsone through five where mister Sinister, someone
I'm not familiar with at all.I just know mister Sinister is an X
Men villain. Brings him back tolife, I guess, and that's why
he is or that's why Morph isback in. I've never been like the
I've never dove super deepens like theX Men. I just know like who

(49:07):
the characters are and what they cando. But I don't like I'm not
well versed in the lore. SomethingI do remember that I listened to constantly
is the theme song. The songwas bringing in my head for like three
hours after I watched both those episodes. The theme song fucking rules and like
once like the first, like weget dropped. I remember so many people

(49:29):
were tweeting like like millennials stand upfor our national anthem God, because I
genuinely think this show was made literallyfor us. And I don't know if
like young kids are about to belike tapping into X Men like that.
But but let's go to you first. What did you think about these first
two episodes of the Niman series.Okay, I'll I'll start off with a

(49:53):
negative and okay, it's literally thesince we're just doing general thought, it's
like it's literally the ending of thesecond episode. Can we please stop doing
multiple alternate timeline things? Man?Can we stop it? Let me let
me but let me let me stopyou right there though, because I don't
think it's I don't think it isno. I don't think it's morph because

(50:20):
and this is no, no,no, this is only something if you,
like, if you're immersed into theX Men lore. I I had
to search this. It's someone there'sthere's another X Men character named Madeline Pryor
who is I'm led to believe she'san X Men villain, and uh,
the one that shows up at thedoor is actually Geen Gray and the one

(50:45):
that's been living with them at themansion is Madeline Pryor posing as Gene.
Okay, so that also and I'llrewind after this, but that also made
me wonder, like, Okay, who is Jean Air quote birthing? And
then I looked up, like whoare Jean Gray's kids? And there's like

(51:05):
so many different kids that she's birthedin like different timelines, and I'm like,
Okay, this is like I think, I think the one the one
that we need to know for thisis Nathan Summers. Who's Nathan Nathan?
Yeah? And uh who is alsoknown as I think Cable? Yes,
okay, so that is Cable?Okay, Okay, So yeah, I

(51:27):
wasn't researching very and so Cable isfrom what I've heard about this season of
the X Men show is that he'ssupposed to have like a really big,
like important arc in the show.Ok And the thing about Cable, did
you watch Deadpool too? I did, but like my memory of it is
a little eazy. Do you rememberJosh Brolin in it slight? He had

(51:51):
like a he had he had likea metal arm and a bright yellow eye.
Yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes, yes yes.
So that's that's Deadpool's version of kand pretty much what Cable does.
He's like a He's like a timetraveling mutant. So I think eventually somewhere
down the line of this show,we we will probably get some some sort
of like multiverse shit. I don'tknow about like full true multiverse shit,

(52:15):
but that's that's just the nature ofCable. He he is always like he
time travels yet to be decided. But no, I that know that.
That was my That was my firstthought too. I was like multiverse stuff,
like stop doing it again, butno rewinding like initial thoughts. Like,
man, so you watched it onthe Saturday morning. I watched it
on a Sunday morning or afternoon.I'm like, man, weekend cartoons,

(52:37):
they're fucking back, dude, Likethey're so fucking back. They like went
heavy on it like quick, youknow what I mean? Like I feel
like some pretty heavy episodes, likethey reminded you that Charles Xavier is dead,
which just makes you like immediately sadStorm fucking losing her powers. Like
I actually cried. I was like, what the fuck, bro, I

(52:59):
have no attachment of these characters atall, and like I'm still like,
like you're still yeah, Like Idon't know, Like all of it was
just like very because none of it'sreally setting up any story because I feel
like people who are watching the showthey know something about X Men, so
they don't have to really do likeany setup. It's more of just like
some reminders and then starting a newsstory. And Magneto, man, he's

(53:23):
I feel like he's gonna consistently bethis character that like you never really know
like what his motives are, andI could be missing something from other X
Men like material, but like Magneto'sfucking sick, Like I love that he's
kind of like a Magneto is anally at the same time, like psychost
thinking about Magneto that I've seen frompretty much across all X Men content like

(53:49):
live action movies, and I'm prettysure, like you know, this is
even true in the comics, butMagneto is always he's just down for the
mutants, you know, like he'sseeing like the mutants are like being oppressed
in society, and he's like he'slike team mutants, you know he I
think that was like the thing withlike like him and Charles Exavier, they

(54:10):
always just butted heads because he's he'slike the type of villain where his intentions
are good, but his methods aboutgoing about things aren't. Like, yeah,
like he doesn't care if he hasto like harm people if it means
for the survival of mutants, youknow what I mean. And it's like
the the the clash of ideologies essentially, from what I can gather between Charles

(54:31):
and Magneto is like Charles wants itto be a symbiosis between humans and mutants,
and Magneto can only see it beinga mutualism where like they don't necessarily
get along, but you can likeyou can still coexist kind of thing.
But if you like expand that alot with two powerful beings that they were,

(54:53):
or Charles was, the differences inthe consequences can be like huge,
you know what I mean, Yeah, kind of like a little like philosophical
thing. Magnet is a great philosopher, like his like monologues. Yeah,
he's so good the sickest. Yeah, And this is something that I've always
heard is that the X Men havealways been like an allegory for folks that

(55:15):
are being impressed. I feel likethe show like really lets you know that.
And they they even give you likelike a scene where like the folks
that are like anti mutants start stormingthe Capitol. I thought that was kind
of sick. It's very modern, like parallel. Yeah, they they fucking
have the guy that had like theblack hood in the in the silver masks.

(55:38):
You're calling him, Oh yeah, the executor. Executor. That's pretty
sick name, honestly, but I'mgoing to coin him as the January sixer
explained the January sixer. Oh wait, is this the dude that was in
like the are you referring to theCapitol Hill riots again? Yeah? No,
the January sixth riots. Fucking you'retalking about the guy that was in

(56:00):
like the like the bear he hadlike the bear skin on his head and
like the fucking American flag and shit, Yeah, that might as well have
been this guy. Honestly, hewas putting hands on cyclops. That was
kind of sad, but you knowit is what is But no, Okay,
So Cyclops though I think he's Ithink Psychlops is like sick as fucking

(56:22):
this show. I feel like hisaction sequences, I feel like with a
lot of like live action Marvel stuffright now, is that some of the
action sequences don't feel like creative orimaginative, if that makes sense, as
far as like roping in their likeyour hero's abilities to do something really cool.
Sometimes it just kind of feel like, Oh, they're just throwing beams

(56:42):
at each other and that's it,you know what I mean. Both Cyclops
here, like his first action sequencein the warehouse, I think this is
in the first episode shooting beams atpeople, but he can also use his
beams to like move quickly around theroom, and uh, I just think
that's like it's like your imagination atwork, you know. And then he
has a scene where I think thisis like towards the end or maybe in

(57:05):
the middle or towards the end ofthe first episode, where they all get
taken out by that sentinel and they'reall in their jet. Then everyone's getting
picked up, like you have acouple of people that can fly, and
the folks that can fly all pickthem up. And then he's he's like
on his little intercom, he's like, all right, you got everybody,
I'll see you guys on the ground. He just like just dives straight for
the for for land and then justuses his beam to swow him down.

(57:29):
I'm like, dang, that's fuckingtight. Probably one of the coolest superhero
landings I've ever seen. And inthe warehouse scene that you're you're talking about,
where like he got his like hisglasses like knocked off, but he
still was able to like open hiseyes for a second and just goes like
full three sixty just and just likedoes like a three sixty fucking beam around

(57:51):
him. Ship is a badass. He's like all the are in his glasses
Like no, not really no,no, like he has his glass is
on because it keeps the beams likein concentrating. Yeah, ban ou So
that was really cool. But Iknow, I think the writing is really
great. I mean some of thestuff that the villains say is just like,

(58:12):
oh man, like I've definitely likethese folks are literally just racist.
Yeah, oh yeah, oh yeah, oh man. It's it is so
good. And then it's still it'scrazy how much it still has that nineties
cartoon feel, and I think that'slike like credit to like the voice actors
and just the way that they sayand deliver lines. It has that nineties
campiness, which I really like. And it feels like kind of like vintage

(58:36):
in that way, and it justfeels like an upgraded version or like a
more like polished version of the ninetiesshow. And I think that's it's really
cool, especially the lines of dialoguefrom God, what's her name? Storm,
It's not Storm, she can shewas the one doing like all the
like fancy light things in like theclub scene and Jubilee like her her dialogue

(59:00):
is so like nineties campy, andit's so like, yeah, comic book
Asquet's like, who uses these wordsanymore? Man Like, nobody uses these
words that you're using like it's it'sno. And even the way that Storm
like comes into the warehouse in thefirst episode, it's like I am Storm,
like controller of the of the weatheror something right right, like having

(59:22):
to introduce yourself in that way, that's like so nineties camp and I thought
that was sick. It's it's it'sso well done all around. And I
swear to God, like the theGiant Sentinel, like Mold something Master Mold,
Master Mold, like that name islike, no, it's it's okay,

(59:43):
but it looks so much like toguess. I'm like, bro,
No, the Sentinels are cool though, And like they add that one scene
where it's where they had to fightoff like nine sentinels and the and the
theme is just playing in the background. I'm like, damn, just fucking
rocks, dude, And the beastjust goes like inside of one and just
like rewires it and like trolls itfor himself. So good. And Mystique
randomly randomly showing up too in thatone tiny scene did Mystique show up?

(01:00:07):
That was definitely Mystique. I don'tthink it was Morph, okay, because
there there's a lot of like becauseMorph changed into like so many different X
Men characters, Like I saw Colossus. There you go Colossus, the big
metal one, and then there wasa Sidelock like she she wears like the
the purple and fights with swords. There was Angel who can fly, like

(01:00:31):
Morph turned into Angel so that hecould pick up one of the X Men
that were falling out of the jet. I'll have to look out for Mystique,
though, I swear. It waslike good. It was like a
hand to hand combat in like thelike the Capitol building, and like at
one point he turns into the chickwho has like two like short swords and
like a yellow in a yellow suitbecause mystique is completely blue with like red

(01:00:54):
hair, right, and she haslike scales and Jennifer Lawrence, Yeah,
she got like the blue scales. She almost kind of looks like Mermaid dish.
Yeah, okay, I'll have torewatch it again. You might be
right. No, honestly, Ireally enjoyed these first two episodes. I
thought that the capital scene was reallyintense, just because there was so much

(01:01:15):
going on there, Like the stakesfelt high. You know, they're trying
to protect the judges, but atthe same time, like Gene or who
we're led to believe is Gene,is like giving birth. At the same
time, it's like, oh,Cyclops has to leave. You know,
we need like we need to protectthe judges though, so Cyclops get out
of here. You know, Wolverenhad to drive Gene to the hospital.

(01:01:37):
It's like so much going on,and it was crazy. They had to
deal with Storm leaving because she losesyour powers and yeah, no, it
was all that last like fifteen minutesis nuts, just a lot of emotion.
They definitely drop the hammer of thefirst two episodes. Yeah for sure.
I hope it keeps the momentum.I really like it so far.
I'll give it a four to fiveso far. I'm gonna with that score.

(01:02:00):
I might bump it up to likea like a four to one five
because and maybe that's just a littlebit like that extra point one five for
me is like because I wasn't reallyinto X Men before, like kind of
getting like a like a easy wayto like get into it a little bit
more like it's it's it's it's accessible. You don't really need to know a
whole lot to like watch these firsttwo episodes. Accessible is a really good

(01:02:22):
word. That's all I have?Is it for me? All throwing a
little honorable mention Fallout show looks likeyou could be sick. Looks how you
could be sick? To throw thatyou ever play the game? I played
a little bit of seventy six andthen a little bit of think it's New
Vegas, Okay, but no,like I didn't even know that that like

(01:02:45):
they were making a show and likerest in my roommate was like downstairs like
playing league while I put the traileron, and he was just like he
heard like the tune and just likeimmediately started like singing the whole thing.
I was like, oh shit,So like that tells me as a fan
of Fallout that they're like probably goingto extract the game very accurately to the

(01:03:06):
show, you know what I mean. It looks looks pretty sick. It's
gonna be on Prime for people wholike Fallout Fallout, and I definitely I
will definitely watch it. You know. Yeah, it's gonna be on Prime.
They're dropping the holes for season. You know. I'd be down to
tap into that. Yeah you talkabout yeah, yeah, hell yeah.
No, I've never I've never playedany of the Fallout games, so that

(01:03:29):
that could be like, since youhave a little bit of familiarity and I
have no knowledge of it, wecan that that could be a fun pod.
I'd be so down. Well, that's gonna do it for episode one
twenty eight. Folks, Thank youfor listening. I'm not sure when Fallout
comes out, but that could bethe next pod or we'll talk about something
else for if so early April, but all right, thanks again, folks

(01:03:51):
and we will catch you guys nexttime, so peace, peace,
