whoever the fuck. That's pretty muchit for the for the catch up,
Aaron, do you have anything tosay, just we really do love you,
(03:15):
like if you're like, no matterhow you're supporting, even if you're
just listening tuning in. You know, I know I have some some friends
that some of some acquaintances you know, back in California that tune into the
pod a little bit, and evenif you're not showing your support like by
commenting on social platforms or anything,it is like if you're just listening,
(03:35):
like you love that and it justknowing that their support goes a long ass
fucking way. We'll be around, and you know, like Aaron, I
know, you need a break.I need a break. Maybe we'll be
back for Asoka when it when itcomes, howking, So like I said,
I'm here, I'm here. Yeah. No, after we talked about
(03:55):
after we talked about the Mando finale, like we could break until August and
that that's not that's not too muchtime, you know, like you know,
this is the Kuiber culture. Wehave to talk about the big Star
Wars shit. That's that stay tuned. So yeah, well we're we're around,
We're around. It's just the actualaudio shit that's just like I'm just
(04:18):
I need I need some time. You know what, Folks, if you're
if you're listening to this right nowand there there's something that is like that
you've been doing consistently and you're youfeel like you're forced to do it,
take a break. Everybody needs afucking break. And if you even if
you like want to keep doing it, I mean podcasts or work. You
(04:39):
know, as much as you enjoyit, and you need a break from
work. You need a break fromwork exactly, and you know your passions,
you need a break, like eventhough you're passionate about it, you
still need a break. As hardas you hustle for it, like I
respect the hustle, like you needa break, and especially if you're working
in a like a corporate nine tofive job. Me that that is me
(05:00):
right now, And I'm about totake like ten days off from work.
Your work gives you those vacation daysfor a reason. And now I'm just
rambling about like a random ship, but this is real. Take some time
off because you know what you deserveit. You really do, my corny
ass over here, But it's true. Yeah, no, it's true.
(05:20):
It is true. Take some timeoff whatever it is, no real life
work, your hobbies say, ittakes some time to yourself. Love all
of you. We really do loveall of you. We hope if like
you know, if you're a listeningto this pod, consistent listener, whatever
it is, take a break, take some time to yourself. Any anyways,
(05:46):
let's get into the episode, justjust a little bit of news.
The big thing that came out ofStar Wars Celebration, like we have a
we have a Star Wars Celebration podor we talked about how we weren't sure
who is Like we were talking aboutthe Yusoka trailer and there was a shot
of like Grandamoral Thron, but itwas just from the back end. We
didn't know who was portraying Thron. But this was the big thing that came
(06:08):
out after we recorded that body thatpot is that Grandamal Thron is going to
be portrayed by Lars Michelson. Andif you don't know that name, yup,
round of applause, round of applause. If you don't know that name,
he voiced Thron in the Rebels show. So I think he's the second,
(06:30):
the second actor or actress to reprisetheir role from the animated show.
So I'm pretty sure, Aaron,I'm pretty sure we talked about this,
but it was it was Katie Sakoffwho reprised her role as Bocatan from Rebels
and Clone Wars to live action, and now it's Lars Michelson from animated to
(06:54):
live action. Also throughout the StarWars celebration weekend, we got a like
a brief old trailer for Star WarsVision season two. That ship looks pretty
awesome. They got. The thingthat made me laugh the most was the
fact that they got the animation studiothat did Grummet and Wallace, which is
pretty funny, which is like ait's like clay, but it's like a
like stop claymation. Yeah, Iknow, the stop motion animation, which
(07:17):
is like, you know that, that's the That's the medium of animation that
I respect the most, just becausethey literally move these clay figures every like
they just move it little by littlefor every single shot. And I'm just
like, holy fuck, that isa slice some commitment rights. Yeah no,
(07:38):
that that is insane patience, AndI'm just like, wow, Like
great trailer. They also confirmed thatBad Batch season three is going to be
the last season of it. Let'slet's power out about this real quick,
because you just finished or Bad Batchseason two. I I finished it?
Uh, Any any general thoughts onthe finale, I mean me real quick,
Like, we well, we didlike a couple of pods on the
(08:00):
Bad Batch and I was on heretalking about how this season solidified Tech as
my favorite character, and they fuckingkilled him in the end, you know,
as far as we know, Okay, okay, fair enough, we
didn't see a body was like theback of the neck, you know what
I mean, Like, yeah, the fucking Plan ninety nine. How could
how could you do this to me? Like you literally hyped up Tech to
(08:24):
be my favorite character. And thatepisode that we were talking about, the
Faster episode where he or he waslike racing, doing the pod racing thing,
that's that's still my favorite episode ofthe season, just because just because
it was about Tech and I waslike, what are you guys doing with
Tech right now? I can't believeyou did this potential rest in piece of
(08:45):
Tech, And so much stuff happenedin that finale that like you know,
we we have we have Mountain Tantis, which has only been in The Bad
Batch, but I think we'll visitthat in The Mandarorian at some point.
But Ahsoka maybe yeahsa movie. Yeah, quick quick thoughts. We don't have
to stay on this too long, but quick thoughts on this season's Bad Batch.
(09:09):
Dude, it's just kind of thelast three to four episodes for me.
So it started with like I thinkit's like a two episode arc where
they're on like this exotic island whereeverybody's like peaceful, and you know,
it's like their new home base.Yeah, they're their new home base,
and like the local people are like, hey, you could retire here,
Like look how happy Omega is.And it focuses on Omega's happiness quite a
(09:33):
bit, and you're like, man, she's just a kid, and start
getting invested into this, and thenit's all starting to sound so good,
even though in the back of yourmind you're like, there's no way this
is where the bad batch ends.Man. Even if they're like defective clones
so to speak, they still havethat inherent called a battle or battle comes
(09:54):
to them and then you know, this pleasant island just gets reamed with a
fucking tsunami. You knew it wasn'tgonna last forever. We got Echo coming
back in that episode. That wasawesome. I loved it. I love
how Echo because echoes technically not thatbash like he's he's a regular Clone got
(10:15):
captured by the Technical Union pretty muchand got brainwashed. Essentially, they sucked
battle plans out of his brain. In season seven, the Clone Wars very
no I think it was the finalseason. It was the final season,
final season the Clone wars, sothat's why like Separatists were seeming to like
counter them and all every single battlethey were in. But we get to
(10:37):
these last two episodes, man,and it's just it's heartbreaking because you have
on one hand, you have Crosshair, who we were kind of bread tit
dislike at a minimum or even hateto some viewers. I'm sure he redeems
(10:58):
himself around, but nobody except theaudience, like he doesn't redeem himself around
the bad Batch. He literally redeemshimself just with this one older Clone who's
about to be replaced by storm Troopers. Essentially, well that was earlier in
the season, but if you gofast forward to the last two episodes,
like Crosshair has this mental fortitude evenwhen he's being like mind Flad to still
(11:24):
look out for the bad Batch. And it's just the character development for Crosshair
is fucking fantastic. And then youalso get Tarken. It's amazing. I
wanted to punch it so fucking batman. I literally when I watched it,
it was like it was like halfpast midnight and I was literally about to
punch my wall when I watched thatepisode, I was like, I fucking
(11:48):
hate you so goddamn much. Sid, Like we talked about this too,
We talked about it. No,we weren't sure we were actually talking about
that. We were talking about thefaster episode and we weren't sure if Sid
would like backstabbing like that, andsure enough she did. And I was
like, this is a fucking disappointment. Fuck you said, because I also
get like two other characters pretty muchto say, hey, like like outside
(12:09):
characters outside of the Bat Batch thatbasically say don't trust it, don't trust
it, don't trust it, eventhough in those specific episodes they're also like
antagonists to the Souldiers. Yeah, man, we get to the end and
Tech potentially dying is just heart wrenching, especially after he was about to get
(12:30):
laid and damn he was. Hemelt to get something, My guy,
he was gonna get some love ata bare minimum. And you have to
attribute that to Omega because Omega wastrying to like make Tech emotional like throughout
pretty much since she joined the crew, Like Tech is just like this emotionless
(12:56):
robot and it's just so good. But then you got a Game of Thrones
my guy, you know what Imean, Like why you got to do
that? Going back to season threebeing announced and also at being announced as
the last season, I think it'sgood to announce that it's the last season.
And I do think season three isgoing to be fucking fantastic. I
feel like the first the first twoseasons we got keeps the same mold,
(13:18):
Like it starts out like pretty good, it doesn't fall off, but it
just kind of lingers, and thenyou, like both seasons, you get
to the end of the seasons, you're like, holy shit. Actually,
at the beginning of season was fantasticbecause we've got Caleb Doom and it explained
Kanan Jaris. I'm excited for seasonthree, but sad to know that it's
going to end after that. ButI'm glad that they're not like Disney and
(13:39):
Lucasfilms, like they're not milking thatbatch. I wasn't too roped in on
the season. I think this isprobably like there's some like lore heavy stuff
in this, but it's I feellike it's like few and far between for
season three. But I feel likethat's that's like all like seasons one and
two. I feel like season oneis still the best. Season two is
(14:00):
kind of like, you know, whatever season starts off, it's just so
strong. Yeah, exactly that thatfirst episode just fucking rips, And I
didn't I didn't even mention the waythat season two ends, Like what the
fuck is that ending? The veryfine like the destruction, the com well,
I know, the whole sister thing, the whole sister thing pretty much
the last shot is this labortition who'sworking with the other scientists on Mountaints Omega
(14:31):
don't I'm your sister, and you'relike, how many fucking Jango clones are
there? Like original Jingo clones?Like what the fuck is this? Yeah,
that's just like a very weird cliffhanger, like and that didn't like this
wrote me into it? Yeah, like is this one like also a like
like a clone that didn't have likethe additional like aging shit, Like you've
got Alpha who's Boba and then yougot Omega who's Omega? What is this
(14:58):
Zeta Beta? Like who's this closegoing on? I mean I don't know,
man, But yeah, so badBatch is ending the season three,
But I know you're hyped on LarsMichelson as thrown, So what do you
think about this. I rewatched likehis entrance onto the station at saw Star
Wars celebrations. So many times hejust comes out with with with the with
(15:20):
the fresh fucking fancy hat, andall he does is just go out with
his arms open and he just bowsto the crowd. You know what,
as much as I'm pretty I'm prettysure all Star Wars fans have theorized who
could play him, but me andyou definitely theorize and Brian do of who
could play thrown We always threw Larsin there. It's like, come on,
(15:43):
yeah, Lars was always in themix. He's always always in the
mix. And like, man,the reception of the crowded Star Wars celebration,
they didn't even say anything. Hejust walked on the stage and everybody
knew. Everybody knew, like prettymuch instantatiously. Like they did say something
like the person that hosted the panel. I'm sorry, I don't remember your
(16:04):
name, but there was someone thathosted the plant the panel, And they're
like, oh, well, likewho's going to portray Grand Admiral Thron,
Like are you guys still keeping thata secret? And then Felony was like,
oh, well he's here, doyou guys want to meet him.
And then the person hosting the panelwas like ladies and gentlemen portraying Grand Admirald
(16:26):
Thron and the Asoka show. Itwas something along those lines, Lars Michelson.
Then he like walked out and yeah, the crowd went absolutely. It
was the loudest I think it wasthe loudest crowd reaction for anything that happened
in Star Wars Celebration. And Iwas like, okay, rightfully, so
that's so fucking cool. I loveit. I love it, and I
(16:48):
love that he was up to takethe role again. We saw some shots
of the some leaks of the liveaction Thron. Yeah, because they dropped
a they dropped a different trailer, like a like a Star Wars Celebration exclusives
trailer for the Asoka a little sneakbeat like that actually showed thrown like his
(17:11):
like his face and all that, and he looks looks great, he looks
fantastic, and like I will say, I'm comparing it to you Rebels animated
Thron and also like what my braininterpreted Thron to look like from the books,
so like it is hard for meto wrap my head around like actually
seeing him on screen, but atthe same time, like I know,
(17:33):
once his story progresses and Asoka progressesand just more Star Wars content with Thron
comes out, I'm it's just gonnabe so fucking good man. I can't
get over it. I was sohappy to see him out there, Like
I cried when I saw him likeconfirmed as as Thron. It's just it's
too fitting. And on top ofthat, just a little thing that I
(17:56):
saw on Socials was Felony is incohorts with Timothy's on to make sure that
he's getting Thron's character right. Igotta respect it. So yes, for
future projects, definitely, you goback to earlier pods from us. Man,
this is something to be a Brianof like praying about. There's a
(18:21):
Thron trilogy pod. Y'all go listento it. Well, come August,
folks, stay tuned. Okay, that's really y'all. I have for news
before we start talking about two episodes, Amanda, let's take a quick break
for some ads. Okay, that'lldo it, for celebration, guns,
for higher just quick general thoughts.I'm not gonna dive too deep into it,
(18:42):
but this episode for me, afterseeing the Spies the newest episode and
Guns for Higher. Just like seeingthese two, my thoughts on it are
more or less the same. Thewhole thing about Bocaton getting the Dark Saber
super pumped on her being the leaderof Mandalore. And I'm pretty sure I
(19:04):
said this like when we first triedrecording this pot I just don't like how
we got there, just because thewhole technicality of it all really fucking bothered
me. Like the whole thing aboutlike, oh well, this droid on
Mandalori defeated me and Bocaton rescued me, so the Dark Sabor should go to
(19:25):
her. It just feels such likeit like it's a big by default one
by default dude, Come on.When I first saw that, I was
really upset and like like, Imean, now it's okay, because I
mean not really okay. I knowI'm not going to go back on and
say it's okay, because I stillfucking hate it. But there are things
that are said in the Spies episodewhere I'm like, okay, like I
(19:48):
get it now, but still it'sjust like I wish Favreau had wrote something
just a little better. We got. The sequel does a good way to
put it, it was okay.To me, it felt worse than well,
if not worse, but the sameas like somehow Palpatine returned, Like
(20:08):
somehow Palpatine returned, and this droidbeing the ruler of Mandalori. For a
quick second, I was just likenah, please, and there was like
this other like I was thinking waytoo hard on it. Like after I
first saw I was like, okay, like I understand that the Mandalorian,
Like I mean, in my head, seasons one and two were just going
(20:32):
to be about Dan Jarn And Ithought that in the two episodes of the
Book of Boba Fette where he waslike trying to learn how to wheel the
Dark Saver, I thought they werelike setting him up to like you know,
he had like a like think aboutthe hero's journey. He had a
calling and he briefly refuses the call, but like he will like eventually like
rise up because because he has to. That's like your typical at least to
(20:56):
me anyway, That's that's your typicalhero's journey stories that like you know,
like you refuse the call, butthen you you then realize like why you
have to accept the call, Andin this episode is just like it's like,
no, I'm refusing to call completely, and like I do not give
a fuck about the call. I'mjust like, I don't think I've ever
(21:17):
seen that in any type of storytellingit. I'm just like, I don't
know, guys, I don't knowif that's it. I brush it off
just because of like you know, the next episode and we'll talk about like
what he says because of the covertthat he's a partner. But anyways,
this episode wasn't for me. Istill think it's not the best. I
still think it's the weakest episode ofthe bunch. A lot of people would
(21:40):
argue that, like, oh,it's still a great episode. You're just
a fucking nerd. Walk Sometimes Ijust don't like everything that's spoon fed to
me, you know. So anyways, Aaron, what did you think about
this episode? I'll disagree with youa little bit on focus on getting the
Dark Saber that quickly, but justmy over all thoughts. First, I
mean, I will say that shedoes it makes sense for her to get
(22:03):
it, and she does deserve it, But the way that we got there,
I hated it. Yeah, exactlylike the path to it for sure,
But everything prior seventy five percent ofthe episode. Jack Black, Lizzo,
fucking goddamn Christopher Lloyd. I mean, these are just crazy actors and
celebrity cameos. They're they're nuts. They're nuts, man the whole Jack Black,
(22:27):
Lizzo being married and being the rulersof like this almost Utiopian society where
nobody has to work. Everybody justhas enjoy leisure and droids do everything for
them and the people that are likepowering or making the droids are ugnots,
and yes they're down in the lowerlevels, but like that's what they love
(22:48):
to do, is droid smithing.I just think that that's so fucking hilarious
and I love it, dude.Stick Jack Black and anything Jack Black and
literally live in any universe. Idon't care. You know that Jack Black
as a Star Wars fan too, like a hard sight tangent. He wrote
this like song for Super Mario movie. And he's on top Peaches. No
(23:12):
way you listen to Peaches. He'she's on Billboard top one hundred right now,
dude. I mean, Jack Blakeis fucking on fire, dude.
I mean, if you were inthe back there in the Tenacious d like
when stacious d first came out kindof era, and you're like, man,
Jack Black's just fucking weird and saysthe same shit over and over again.
(23:32):
We'll look at him now he's inStar Wars. You're not like,
fuck you. I think it's perfect. The whole like droid bar scene,
I'm a little like mixed about,Like I'm not putting too much emphasis on
it, but it's kint of oneof those moments where Disney makes you feel
for droids, right like you loveour two you You can feel R two's
(23:53):
expressions, same as C three PO, same with BB eight, same with
any important droid and Star Wars likeB two Emo is the latest one that
like fucking tugged on my heartstrings.B two Emo is how am I feeling
like sympathy or empathy for a tincan because it's because this droid can't do
(24:14):
shit and he wants to hang out. And even on top of that,
like there's a droid bar for droidsthat literally just want to get reoiled,
like they're just trying to get someWT forty like you, they need that
in the penthe Yeah, I meanI don't know this whole like distraction from
the actual story with Bow and theother the other mandos, like the Mercenary
(24:36):
mandos. It was just it didn'tneed to be there. I think it
was a waste of screen time. But if you were going to waste screen
time having Zo, I'm okay withit. I guess okay. So when
we originally recorded this pod, Ihad said that this episode derailed the entire
season and I was just so fuckingpissed about it. I need a backtrack
(24:56):
on it. I'm just not pissedabout it anymore. I'm just like okay,
Like this season has it just showedme that they didn't have a whole
lot of story just at play.It felt like they like lacked in some
story and they wanted to fill itwith like crazy celebrity cameos. That that
that's what it felt like to me. That's like that say all though,
(25:17):
that they were concerned with so well. And it's also like for me like
backtracking on it, like like you'resaying backtracking and looking back on the episode
or even watching it again. It'slike also now with all the Star Wars
selling news and the Soca trailer, like my mind is just like so focused
on like what's ahead ahead of methat I'm like, Ah, even if
(25:37):
you threw some garbage Mando episode intoit, like I don't care. I'm
like, I'm here for it becauseI know there's great shit on the horizon,
right. And I also, atthe same time knew finishing this episode
that the penultimate and the finale aregoing to be absolute bangers. Yeah,
I knew it. I knew it. I mean I always second second guess
(26:00):
myself when I make that kind ofinternal promise, But I mean at first,
I was like, what the fuckis this? Like it's fun,
but it's not progressive or substantial interms of any story lines, Like it
literally isn't. Yeah, No,it just felt like Mando has always been
episodic, right, It's always beenMonster of the Week type shit. Where's
(26:23):
Grody gonna get his milk? Likewhat what's the thing that I'm doing a
favor for for somebody in this episode? You know? But with this it's
yeah, it's it's just bending Huntershit and that, honestly, I liked
that about it. I really likedit in season one because season one had
that vibe of the whole like lonegun slinger, like cowboy, like protecting
this kid type of vibe to it. Like it was like Star Wars meets
(26:47):
Westerns, which is what drew meinto the So the series in the first
place like reflects that, like itsounds like a Western theme. Yeah,
and so, like you know, once season's, seasons two and like especially
this season came around it, itjust kind of just started to divert away
from that because they want to theywanted to like build it up to be
(27:08):
like not only like a like asmall western show anymore, but they wanted
they want to blow it up tobe like the big thing Forstall the Mandalorians,
not the Mandalorian which is fine,Like I'm I'm okay with that,
but when you do it, likeespecially by season three, especially with some
of the episodes we got, I'mjust like, like, do those random
episode episodic things with like the Monsterof the Week when it's like the third
(27:34):
to last episode of the season.I don't think you guys can do that
anymore. I mean with you, like, don't do that in the second
half of the series, like doit in the beginning, ramping up a
little bit towards the end of theend of the season, Like that's more
understandable. I don't know. Imean, it's because it comes. It
(27:55):
comes. It always comes down tolike what happened in the end of the
episode. But Gaton has a lansing. I almost I always hold said light
Saber has the Dark Sabor, andit's it's fitting because both Gaton has literally
been through so much fucking shit ifyou followed just her story, her sister
dying and her sister being a pacifist, her being part of death Watch,
(28:18):
her actually ruling Mandalori for a shortwhile, losing the Dark Saber, passing
the darks or refusing the Dark Saberto Sabine, who Sabine passes it off
back to Bokaton, and now we'rehere again. Like it's just that is
one thing that I do like aboutthe Mandelorian is like the passing off of
(28:40):
the Dark Sabor because it's I'll saveI'll save this thought for for next episode,
for the next episode. The battleslike the one on the Axe and
both it was good. It wasreally good. So that that was the
thing that that I wish we sawthis would be my last time before move
on. But the more I thinkabout it more it does not make sense.
(29:02):
But I would have liked to seehow it would have worked out if
they tried to pass it off inthe marketing. Before season three even started,
I thought there was gonna be likelike a like conflict between Bocaton and
din Jarn. And that's what Iwas like expecting, you know, Like
I didn't expect them to be likelike allies throughout the entire thing. I'm
glad there wasn't, and I don'twant to watch that, okay, fair
(29:26):
enough. Like I even thought thateven when like DN had like dove into
the waters and she had rescued him, and she kept like the secret of
the myths of seeing the Mythosaur toherself, I thought she was keeping it
to herself from Dim because I thoughtthey were actually building up that like conflict
between the two, Like I don'teven think Dn' at this point of all
(29:47):
the episodes we've seen, I don'tthink DNN knows that she saw the mythosord
like it's only between them. SoI thought there was like I thought there
was going to be at least achallenge, not even like for them to
like okay, like it's you againstme and like I need to kill you
in order to get the dark.Like I thought there would at least be
a challenge, like like how shechallenged him what's his name? Axe Wolves
(30:10):
because they don't have to tell eachother, you just have to yield.
But yeah, so I thought thatwill be That would have been cool,
But ultimately it's kind of sounding likeI mean, the Internet, just once,
just once, Din and bow tohook up. They want him to
be an item now, which isI'm open to it. I also just
(30:33):
gotta say Bryce styleas Howard loves herfish people, she loves the quag mirrns,
and she loves the she loves analien romance for sure. Yeah some
fish. But okay, that'll doit for guns for higher. So let's
talk about the most recent episode.Even though y'all will see Come to nineteenth,
(30:56):
y'all will see the finale and we'rerecording on the eighteenth, But let's
talk about this episode. Just gobeat by beat. Episode starts out very
blade Runner. That's what I likethe most about this opening sequence. Elia
Kane just like walking around through thelower parts of Corressant cyberpunk Blade Runner.
(31:18):
It it feels super cool, justsuper dystopian sci fi. It was also
honestly we see mof Gideon. Nosurprise there, uh with one of those
like imperial what are these things calledimperial probe probes, probe joids. There
you go talking about how like thepirates were part of of mof Gideon's plan.
(31:41):
What do you think about this wholeconversation here? I mean, you
know, I think anybody should haveseen this coming, but he sure,
but there were still some there wasthere wasn't like full confirmation about her mof
Gideon and her and there wasn't likecomplete confirmation. But this is what that's
(32:04):
what we got here. I lovethe cyber Bunga Runner aspect to it.
It's so good you're living in liketwenty one seventy seven. You know,
it was a great opening to it. We got mof Gideon and you know,
also confirmation that what's her name,Alia, Alia came? Alia came
definitely set up pershing they leave inhis mind? Yeah, like what did
(32:25):
they leave in his mind? Becausethey were like rainwashing him pretty much.
I'm just thinking of like the Snaptwo Gideon's perspective after the scene, because
it's okay, it's a couple twomore things I want to bring up we
get here, like more so confirmationeven though that we knew, like you
know, that the empire is rebuildingwithin this new Republic. And then she
(32:49):
said like, oh, okay, well it is it was Mandalorians that assisted
Navarro under Bokatan and den Jarin. And then he says which Mandalorians, which
I think is the most like interestingpart of the conversation because it kind of
gives thrown vibes to where likes andhe knows, like he knows his enemy,
(33:10):
like he understood there are Yeah,he understands the Mandalorian culture and he's
like, oh, well, likethat doesn't make any sense that Bocaton's Mandalorians
and then Jarns Mandarians would help eachother out. So it just it just
makes me think about like how likeMofginian is like an awesome villain just because
he understands how they operate, likehe says which Mandalorian's meaning there are more
(33:31):
factions Mandalorians like Mandalorians that don't alignwith the new Republic at all, which
we haven't seen yet. And nowthat Mandalorians are aligning, Gineans like,
that's fucking on my sector, dude, that ain't happening. We gotta do
something. I like, that reallyis a very thronish way of thinking by
him know your enemy and use that, and that even like plays into his
(33:54):
little child with the Shadow Cancel, which we'll get into a second, but
after that scene we go back towherever it's obvious that he's on mandalor you
know what I really like is thered barriers here. Oh my god,
very but very phantom menace, justsuper sick and I'm just like, damn,
(34:14):
like this ship, this Shadow Cancelshit is really super secretive, just
because like he needs these barriers.I feel like I actually saw Qui Gon
like meditating back there. I reallydid. You know what else I thought
it was cool was these troopers. What do you mean call these? Are
these like supercommando troopers, new generationof dark troopers? You know what I
thought they were at first was inrebels, Yeah, Gar Saxon and his
(34:38):
like super supercommando like Imperial Supercommandos orsomething. Are these then? But I
was like, no, they I'mnot sure. It's too late. I
mean it's too far in the time. Yeah, And I swore I thought
like Saxon was gonna pop up andlike like helmet list. But I was
like Okay, well, I'm prettysure it's been killed him, right,
like Gar Saxon has gone at thisbecause I thought to being killed him when
(35:01):
he showed up at at like theKlan Wrens. Yea, they dueled,
they act they have the Cultural Mandalorianduel and she won as on the ice
Lake outside of the ren the RedHousehold. Yep. Yeah, so I
don't I don't remember if he ifhe if she killed him there or if
like, I don't know, butanyways, I swore I thought I was
(35:22):
gonna see Gar Saxon because that thatyou know, these suits are very reminiscent
of that. Yeah. And thenafter that he meets up with the Shadow
Council, who are pretty much justlike remnants of the Empire, meeting in
secret. And I want to getyour thoughts on this just because I don't
know much about the Shadow Council, but I know there's somebody part of the
(35:45):
Shadow Council that you know quite abit about. And it was so funny
because quick story, when this episodepremiered, I had texted our group chat
very early in the morning, Aaron. You usually don't respond at this hour,
but it was like between the hoursof like eight and nine am,
and I was texting Brian in ourStar Wars group chat, and I was
(36:07):
like, like, we were justchatting about I forget what it was,
but we weren't talking about one ofthe one of the characters. Oh no,
no, no, So someone hadgotten cast uh in the Asoka show.
The news head it was the sameguy who played Gar Saxon. You're
right, but what I'm talking aboutis something different. This guy named West
(36:30):
chat him pretty much he was castingthe Asoka show as the right hand man
to Thron in the Asokas. Inthe Asoka series, he's like a younger
looking guy. He's a younger lookingguy. And when I sent this,
Brian responded with like, okay, well that's gotta be Eli Vanto or Ellie
Vanto Vanto. And then he waslike a Captain Pellion is an old ass,
(36:54):
but that means like Vanto is backwith Ron after working under the Chiss
Admiral. And then when he saidCaptain Pellion, I was because when I
sent this at eight oh five inthe morning, I had already watched the
new Mando episode and he text meback at eight thirty and then and then
I responded in the Chain, likeat nine fifteen, like forty five minutes
(37:15):
later, I was like, havey'all watched the new Mando episode yet?
Because I already knew that Captain Pellionwas in the episode, so I didn't
want to spoil anything. Captain Pelionin the Mando episode, like that's him,
like they nailed his look. Iwas like, wait, you had,
like you mentioned Captain Pellian. Iknow you haven't watched the episode yet.
(37:37):
Yeah. Yeah, so that's whyI was like after that, I
was like, oh, y'all needto watch it before we continued this conversation.
But anyways, the shadow counsel,it's fantastic scene. But let's open
this up real quick question for you. Who is Captain Pellion Captain Kellyan If
you're gonna start reading with ron booksor to the Empire is the first one,
(37:58):
and literally the words Captain Pellion arethe first words of the book.
That literally this who is Captain Pellian? No, no, no, it
just says Captain Pellion, Captain Pellionto the bridge, report to the Bridge.
I won't say anymore in the books, but Captain Pillion is the captain
of the Chimera. He is theright hand man two, Grand Admiral Throm
(38:23):
He is a huge player throughout thethe first trilogy. He is, if
I can describe it him quickly,he's you remember all like the captains and
the commanders under Darth Vader, whenthey were like, yes Darth Vader,
yes I'll do it. You know, anytime Darth Vader gave a command,
they would do it. Captain Pellionis kind of he has this kind of
(38:46):
trauma I think from the Empire whenit first came to power. But now
he slowly starts to realize he's notunder command that will kill him if he
says something wrong like Darth Vader orSidious. Right, are we talking like
like moth Tarken type vibes or what? No? No more. It's more
(39:09):
like again, he's mostly traumatized fromthat kind of moth Tarkan Vader Sidious.
Thron is a strategist, like he'snot just gonna fucking force choke you for
saying something stupid. He's like,Okay, well, sure you made a
mistake. You're going to get apunishment, but I want you to learn
from it so that our military thinggrow stronger. That's what makes it such
(39:34):
a fucking good goddamn leader. Iwon't say too much. If you want
to really know about Pellian, justgo read the books. I mean,
Pellian is a huge player in justthe thron story. Some ship goes down
the books and I just I don'tknow. I saw his when they said
Captain Pellian. When I watched thisat midnight when it came out, I
(39:54):
literally threw my headphones off of myfucking head and I was just like,
yes, you hit and you're like, yeah, yes, dude. I'm
like, oh shit. And weget some other cameos there, Okay,
let us know about those cameos becauseI had I had heard and read about
(40:15):
these these other members of the ShadowCouncil. But it was a quick rundown.
Hucks, we get, we geta Hucks. Okay, this is
like a sequel. This is like, that's confirmed. So the I don't
know his first name in the ShadowCouncil. That is the father or the
son of the Hawks that we seein Father, Father of the Hucks that
(40:37):
we that we know see in thesequel trilogy. And they're brothers, which
is so weird. The actors arebrothers. Yeah, so it sounds kind
of fun. That sounds kind offun, but yeah, no other cameos
that well. I heard that thebald like thicker like heavier set dude is
also another cameo. No name,no name, no name attached to it,
(41:00):
no name associated, but that theywere all there could be a name
associated, but they were just basingit off of like like art from the
books, because he looks like oneof the guys from the name I forget,
no, no, I don't havethe name on it. But that
was the big one for me.I was like, I heard Pillian and
I was like, bro, we'rehere outside of the cameos. I think
(41:22):
this is fucking awesome because it describes. But if you're taking the first order
into consideration, it's like each oneof these members of the Shadow Council have
like control over their own sectors, which is how they describe it in their
conversations, kind of doing these slowhits in different sectors of the galaxy,
(41:42):
but not making like not making itknown like this is the Empire except for
Gideon. Like it's super dope tosee that fleshed out in just such a
tiny scene. Yes, we havelike remnants of the Empire, but like
here's how they're doing it, Likethey're staying secret. They all have j
Necromancer. Wait, so what isthe Project Recromancer? Is that the Palpatine
(42:04):
thing that that's the theory that that'show Palpatine comes back. Project Necromancer is
pretty much like Pershing's work. Ithas to be right, it has to
be Yeah, I mean it's yeah, how would you call it necromancer when
you go back to Obi one andthere's all these like bodies in the tomb
and you have Snow who's resurrected, and but I just hope it doesn't lead
(42:27):
towards Palpatine. I hope it goestowards Sabba off Luke, Skywalker's Clone and
all that kind of stuff in theprom books. Yeah, I know,
I could see like like if ifthe Hucks that we saw in this episode
led to the First Order, that'swhy like his son Hucks, like his
sector is the first Order. Butthen like there's other like all these other
(42:50):
sectors that everybody's talked about that weren'tmentioned in the sequel trilogy, you know,
like it's just one part of theever growing return of the Empire,
you know, because I like,I mean if you lined it up in
terms of like what if Captain Pellionis still around and he has his own
little group of the Rising Empire.I can see something like that, and
(43:10):
then like we could we could justlook at the First Orders just like a
complete failure of just like one littlesect of the Empire rising up, you
know, but they're like so manyother ones that were teased here. Potentially.
The only conflict to have with thatis that, Luke, I guess
maybe the timeline isn't defined enough forme to like say, all right,
here's where the first Order is,Here's where Grand Emerald Thron's Rising Empire is.
(43:36):
I guess that's that's a question thatwill will find out. But man,
we literally in the shadow Council scene, this is my favorite part.
They're literally waiting for and they quotedGrand Admiral Thron's because they're like holding him
secret for some reason, whatever itis. They don't want to seem too
(43:57):
weak, they don't want to,you know, show their whole arsenal at
the time. But just hearing thatquote Grand animal From's return that, yeah,
like we're we're seeing him next episode. I mean we're seeing him a
little brief, little brief cameo.I like that, What do you what
do you think about mof getting likekind of like downplaying him. Shit,
(44:24):
Okay, the only reason why I'mworking with it is just because like like
I understand that they have to keepThrown a secret. But it's like like
from Gideon's perspective, he's like,Okay, well, like we're already meeting
in secret, and we're all weall have the same goal. It's like
where is this guy at? Youknow what I mean. I think that's
the only reason why he was likequestioning Thrown is because like can we get
(44:47):
some help? Sure? Yeah,no, I get that. But it's
also like in this time period oraround this time period, it's like the
New Republic, they know, likethe Grand Admirals are all dead, but
for some reason Thron is missing andnobody's ever heard of Thron. I don't
(45:07):
know. All I can think aboutas like getting like, you know,
Wenna, you're talking about nothing whenit comes comes to the power of the
fuck Long live the Empire, dude. Yeah. So that that was nice.
That was that was a little bitof fun. So yeah, that's
that's the that's the cold open ofthis episode. It's just all imperial stuff,
which is which is really cool, really strong opening. Yeah, so,
(45:29):
and then we go from that, and then we go back to some
Mandalorians stuff the two different groups linkup. Didn't realize the light cruisers that
the Mandalorians had hijack had the hadthe mithosaur logo on it, and I
was like, that's just kind ofhard. I don't I don't know if
that was like the first time theyever flashed that, like on screen,
(45:50):
but that ship was kind of tough. Then, while we're on no varro
Ig eleven is now IG twelve.I'm kind of mixed on this is kind
of weird, but Brogue was afucking menace in this thing, just responding
with like yes and no. Thatshows so funny. The whole thing with
the end Zellen being like bad baby, no squeezy, like that shows Oh
man, just did you not hearthe end Zellen say I'm out. I'm
(46:15):
out, motherfucker. That's what everybodysays. I saw me first, and
then I rewatched it again and Iwas like, he totally said, no,
that shows too funny. But Iknow, I G twelve, you
know, you know what I thoughtwas nice. For one, it's fucking
weird to bring IG eleven back tolife and just make him like this vessel.
(46:37):
Like we're taking like the body partsof a deceased droid that you guys
wanted to put up in the TimesSquare as as a hero, and now
you're taking him down and be like, Okay, we actually need you to
serve a little more even though you'rea little dead and we're gonna put a
baby inside. You see. That'sjust kind of weird. Bro. I
don't know about all that. It'sa little weird. But I will say
(47:00):
like the second that Grogu saw IG twelve, he like his you see
his face warm up, like hisexpressions warm up because I G eleve muck
saved him, no, And thatthat's the other thing I will say about
that is that I G eleven atthe end of season one like his his
prime like h manufacturing manufacturers protocolled dictatesthat I cannot be captured for one of
(47:23):
them was that he would always protectthe baby, and so I G twelve
technically still doing it, you know, even though it's under So I thought
that was like kind of you know, it's kind of nice. Yeah.
The hole in zone thing is justsuper fucking funny. Like this end zone
is just so fucking traumatized from thefirst time that he met up with a
(47:44):
Grogu and Grogu just like squeezed theshit out of him. It was just
but Grogu, like I said earlier, just an absolute menis to society walking
around the town square like is didnot feeding my boy? Like he just
walks up to the fucking food cartand just like soups up some food and
just it's just like he's a littlegremlin just eating up so much food and
(48:07):
then like just trying to eat itall up for free, Like please be
a better dad and feed my boy. Go on, then what are you
doing? Man? Honestly, allthe grow group humor really really worked for
me in this episode. I don'tthink I've ever laughed harder in Star Wars.
But what do you think about allthis? I thought it was just
classic classic Star Wars humor. Dude, it was really good. Yeah,
(48:30):
I mean I was good like comedictransitions, yes, yes, yes,
yes, yes, yes yes yes. Moving on from there, we go
back to Mandarians making camp. Ireally like the scene with Bokatan very much.
She's trying to get together like ascouting party to go to mandalor and
(48:51):
proves again why she is a goodleader. She essentially asked, who's going
to be part of my scouting party? And I know you really like the
scene? Like she she says thatshe needs Mandalorians from both parties, you
know, from from hers and thechildren of the Watch. So many of
the most unlikely folks are just standingup saying like I will go. And
(49:13):
he got Positivisila in there, gotax Wolves in there. Just folks that
you wouldn't you didn't think we'd getalong or like linking up to retake Mandalori
because they're that's like the one goalthat they're all focused on. It's like
it's I don't care if I don'tlike, you know, fuck with this
like other group of Mandalarians, likethose from Mandalorian and that's that should sit.
(49:34):
What did you think about the scene? Yeah, I fucking loved it.
It's also very reminiscent of a scenein Rebels or a sequence, and
it's like a final scene in Rebels, right, Yeah, It's like it's
the Protectors and it's it's like prettymuch all the Mandalorian clans and Sabine Wren
like low key, they're basically seeingSabine should be the wielder of the Dark
(49:57):
Savor, and Sabine basically submits andsays no, Bokaton should be the leader
of the Dark Saber and the leaderof the Men Warreans, and she should
build the Dark Sabor, and Bokatongets it. And it's just like it's
so reminiscent, Like this scene isstill reminiscent of that. And it's a
scene in Rebels where she's like standinglike kind of like on the off ramp
of a ship and she's like holdingup the Dark Saber. That's the scene
(50:19):
you're talking about. Yep. Ilove this, like factions that were always
divided coming together for a common cause. I mean, it's a common theme
in a lot of media for StarWars and the Inndalorians. It feels really
fucking good. But I will saythe one thing that doesn't feel good about
the scene is feel those dragon babiesthat did they cook them? We're talking
(50:44):
about to the background, it's justlike, come on, you're supposed to
train Knows and Bokaton brought him thereand we're like, oh, we have
some more young things for you totrain, and then sure enough, a
couple episodes later, it's like theirfood. It's fun. Honestly, grow
probably did it because he was hungry. No, it's yeah, the boys
starving. I mean, he's agirl man, he's gonna be old.
(51:07):
I didn't think so many Mandalorians wereactually going to like stand up and say
like, I'm with you. LikeI knew dn Jarn was gonna go there.
Definitely had a feeling that the armorwas gonna say, yeah, I'll
go, But all the other randomMandalorians ax Wolves, Yeah yeah, I
could see that, and then axwolves right hand, you can see that.
(51:28):
But it is awesome and I loveit, and we get an amazing
sequence of following that, and Ijust love how everyone that is a Mandalorian
is coming back to the realization that, like, we need to be one
Mandalor again. Okay, so afterthat scene, they go to Mandalor,
they got the scouting party, theyrun into Mando pirates. They're pirates,
(51:54):
but like the ship like pirates.Yeah, what do you think about the
Mando pirates. I think they're alittle shady, a little shady, and
I swear to God, I've seenthe captain of the ship in something else.
Top gun is a top gun it'stop Gun Maverick. Yeah, top
Gun Maverick. That's where you seehim? Is that where I see him?
(52:15):
Yep, ye, look it upright now. I love his character
because as this like weird coalescing ofMandalorians who have been surviving on Mandolor since
the purge with Mandalorians that we're hidingon Concordia, we're somewhere else in the
(52:35):
in the galaxy. Right, It'sa very interesting There's there's a lot of
very interesting interactions between all of them. But I love the ship man and
I love the whole like are youBokeaton? And they're just like loyal as
fucked to Bokaton. Being about Bokatonsince the purge, it puts more substance
into why Bokeaton should be the leaderof Mandoor. And they even said,
(53:00):
like, are you is that thevoice of Lady Bogatang Cready, ladies,
Yeah, royalty dude, sister ofthe Duchess, the ruler Mandalor. Back
again, let's go into the kindof like round table scene round tables,
well not not round table scene, but like they're all they're all eating together,
(53:22):
so pretty much what happens here is, uh, they're all eating together
on the barge. Bogaton gives explanationas to why she lost Mandalore and the
Dark Sabor in the first place. And I'm not gonna I'm not gonna nitpick
this, but I did wish thatwe saw what she described as like a
flashbackshback. Yeah, that'd be nice, that would have been interesting at some
(53:46):
point in the show. Is itlike a thing for Mandalorians to not surrender?
Is that like the whole thing toan actual enemy, yes, like
not not like a like a duelbetween Mandalorians. She she's pretty much explaining
what happened, like all she ruledMando War and how she surrendered too Muff
Gideon, because you know, he'dsaid that he would spare Mandalorian lives if
(54:09):
she submitted. Right when she droppedthat word surrender, like it pans to
a lot of Mandalorians on this shipat the table, I say, like,
whoa, whoa, whoa, you'resurrendered. What do you mean you're
surrendered? And that's where I thinkit starts to get a little shady between
this group of Mandarians that pick themup. Yeah, So we get that
scene and then we also get likea nice little scene between Dan and Bow
(54:30):
where Dan explains and this kind ofgoes back to my complaints about the previous
episode, where Dan pretty much sayslike, oh, like, my culture
doesn't even care about the dark Sabor. I only care about loyalty and character
and all this stuff and honor andall that, which makes him giving up
(54:51):
the Dark Sabor on a technicality,on a default a little more understandable.
Still don't like it, though,And so he like finishes that sentence off
and he's like, I love thisline. He's like, your song is
not written yet, and I willserve you until until it is. And
he gives like the little Mandalorian salutewith like the chest over or the fist
(55:13):
over his chest. I don't knowif I've ever seen him do that,
you know, the fist over hischest the salute. Maybe he did in
like the previous season. But he'llgive the head nod. He's given the
head knob, but not yeah,he's always given the headnob but not the
not the yeah. I feel likethat might not be a Children of the
Watch thing, but I think that'ssomething that he just picked up, seeing
like Bocaton's Mandarians do as like asalute and That's that's cool. I like
(55:36):
seeing that. Yeah, so whatdid you think about the tables? He
I mean, I agree with youof Like the second that she said surrender
irked a lot of people and theywere like this really our leader, you
know, like everybody's having the secondthoughts. I also really liked that confirmed
how mof Gineon cup the dark saberlike in the end of like the season
finale of the first season of TheMandarian, Like, how the fuck does
(55:58):
mof Ghineon have the dark saber rightwhen he punches out of the fucking tie
fire. But I just love thescene in general because it's like so many
man Mandalorians with different backgrounds, differentbeliefs about what being a Mandalorian is,
what were their lives like being aMandalorian just sitting out one table. It
is fucking awesome. The chess scenedoesn't have much I like that. Why
(56:20):
not this is I mean, it'sclassic, like it was a classic,
just like no pause is playing chesswith axe wolves and oh that chess scene.
Okay, you're saying chest chest likeI thought you were saying like the
Mandalorian salute, and I was like, wait, why not that that shit
made me cry that shit actually, because I was like, thin Jarn actually
is the Mandalorian of all Mandorians.Yeah, okay, No the chess scene
(56:45):
with with Pause and Axe, ohokay, well they just fought. Yeah.
It's like Pass is always like outhere trying to trying to scrap with
somebody. You know, it justkind of felt like classic Pads. He's
a big boy, like he's justlike it makes me feel like he's like
wrecker, you know. Yeah. But here's the one thing I'll say about
that, this full acts like they'rejust trying to play a chess game.
(57:08):
And this full Ax was like,oh, these primitives make their own rules
for the game. I'm like, yeah, what who are you calling a
primitive? Bro? What are youtalking about? Like, this is how
I played the game, and you'regetting told me how I played the game.
Let's scrap up, Let's go getsome get some vibra daggers, dude,
Like, yeah, Ax was outof pocket for that random thought.
(57:29):
Though. When I did see thosedaggers come out, like they're actually like
vibrating like super fast. I thinklike in cotoor when we were playing the
Cotour games, like vibral blades that'swhat they're supposed to look like, like
it's actually supposed to be vibrating, like it's a primitive lightsaber essentially, like
it's vibrating so fast that it createsdifferent energy. But they just couldn't do
it in the Cotour games because graphicsfucking funding like all that kind of ship.
(57:54):
Damn. So imagine one of those, but a full on sword or
like the double vibral blade, youknow what I mean. Damn that it
was hard. That was one thatwas my favorite weapon before you get a
lightsaber, the doubles. It's hard. Sometimes you want to go back to
it, so you just smack somebodyoutside the head with, you know,
(58:15):
a lesser weapon, you know.Okay, but after after that, let's
talk about the beast. Oh yeah, yeah, I don't exactly agree with
it, mostly because like I don'tthink it was a methosaur. That's just
me just saying like I don't thinkit was. I know you think it
was the methosphar, but you havegood reasoning behind it, So was it
(58:36):
the methosaur. Let's start with thisvisually. What did we see in that
episode in the Minds of Mando War? What did we see from the Methistord.
We literally saw like we saw aneye and like some of the face.
So we don't really know what theMythospord looks like. But my theory
is we just got a side profileof it. Yeah, like the smallest
side profile. Because the myths sourdhas got to be massive. So that
(58:57):
beast that comes out in the spiesin this part of the episode, it
has to be the Mythosaur. Idon't think it's trying to bring down the
Mandalorians on the Mandalorian Pirate ship. The fact that Mandalorian factions are uniting and
coming back to retake Mandalore. TheMythosaur is coming out from the depths of
Mandalorre as a as a symbolism orin a symbolic manner to protect the Mandalorians
(59:24):
that are going below to find theGreat Forge. It's it's all a symbolic
thing to me. And if youwatch like the ten seconds of thirty seconds
of what all the Mandalorians are doingto that beast, nobody's saying, oh,
that's the Methosaur. None of thethe Mandalorians know that the Methosaur exists,
(59:44):
except for Bow and the Armorer, and both kept it for kept it
a secret. The Armor she's likeand and the Armor finally believed eventually that
Bow saw the myths. That's amyth to then this is just some of
the creature to the rest of theMandalorians. I don't think that's gonna be
like fleshed out. If there isa Mando season four or even in the
(01:00:07):
next episode or even the Dave Filonifucking Mando Versus movie, like that could
be fleshed out. I'm one hundredpercent gambling on that's the Methosphore. It
like, what else is going tocome out of the fucking surface of Mandelore,
man, Like something that big increating that much much destruction. Okay,
So they this beast pops out ofthe ground supposed to leave the Methosore,
(01:00:30):
and then they had to escape underground. And this is where the pirates
get a little more shitty because theyfunnel them underground. So happened to lead
them to where I mean, theGreat Forge is there, but they also
lead them to where Moth has beenlike setting up a new kind of like
factory underground next to the Great Forge. Oh, the Empire has been there
(01:00:53):
the whole time, the whole fuckingtime, no fucking way, like ever
since the purge of Mandalore, they'vealways been their big fucking surprise. I'm
not that's not a knock. I'mjust saying, it's just like, yeah,
no, of course they're there.I didn't see it coming was I'm
(01:01:13):
just like, yeah, that makessense that they're there. So they're they're
trying to fight off the nude darktroopers that I thought were like Gar Saxons,
and some of them escaped to thatroom that we were talking about,
like the little Imperial factory that's onMandalor the Only thing I'm really curious about,
(01:01:34):
which I don't think I brought upearlier, is that are the folks
in the in the white best gararmor? Are these clones of off Gideon?
Well, he does say some reallyweird shit. There's the best of
three parts and I am one ofthem, right, It's something like that
the cloners DM. The Jedi saysthat too, the Jedi and I am
(01:01:55):
all that. He says that, and then he says exactly like like Mandalori
lives on through me, and hesays, the best part of these suits
are me, so That's why I'mlike, Okay, is mof in these
suits? Like did they clone him? And these are all off? Maybe
it's a watermark, Okay, Likeit's just like his art because what is
(01:02:17):
moff Gideon? Like what what iswhat is he shown in the previous seasons?
Like that's really special about him otherthan he's an I is be officer
and he's a fucking nerd and knowshe's FBI. He's a fucking nerd and
he's an FBI. He's an FBIagent. He can wield the dark Saver
though, like with these that's true. See, he seemed pretty proficient with
(01:02:38):
it when he was fighting with dnJarn. Yeah, thinking about that,
He's got smarts though. But anyways, this scene, I mean, it
moves on. Probably one of thetoughest things for me to watch. All
the Mandalorians have to escape and whostays behind is full transparency here. I
fucking hated Posis Blue, Big Blue, Big Blue. I fucking hated him
(01:03:02):
at the beginning of this season, but at the end of the day,
he always had folks backs. Andeven think back to season one, Uh,
he's fighting out bounty hunters for DnJarhn to escape he's like like Dn
like looks at him and like,I don't know if it's like the first
or like the third episode. It'sthe sin episode. Like Dann's like,
(01:03:22):
oh, yeah, you'll have torelocate the covert, and he just looks
at him and he's like this isthe way, and then gives enough time
for DN to escape. And thenlater that episode we see him flying in
his little jet pack and like Dn'slike, oh, I gotta get me
one of those. But thinking aboutthat moment in that episode and going back
to here, he's like he's alwayslike like fighting for like the future Mandalor,
(01:03:45):
and he like fights off all thesetroopers. He's the last one behind
all of the supply Landor and hegoes out guns blazing, like what a
fucking champ. It's it's almost likea like a nice little first full circle
arc for him. Rest in pieces. His laughter was really good around him.
You hated him, you started tolike him, you loved him,
and then he died. He gotGame, he got Game of Thrones,
(01:04:09):
Like I mean, he really didno other way around it, no other
way around And also like leading upto like his death, which makes it
worse, he is seeing dn Jarnjust get lassoed from like three different angles
like him. That was pretty toughto watch. That built it up and
you're like, no, there's nofucking way they're doing my boy, fucking
(01:04:30):
pedro like that. Dude. Itotally skipped over that. I thought they
were about to kill him right there. I guess that was it. The
toughest thing about this to watch waslike when he was getting roped up,
was when they showed like a quickshot of Grogu with like the most worried
work on his face. I'm like, no, my boy. And then
and then you kind of get thislike minute reprieve because you're like, they
(01:04:54):
don't kill him. They don't killDn. Like taking down to the interior
gazing room, all hell breaks loose. Then go into the fucking the whole
pas like guns are literally on fire, like he literally held the trigger like
the entire time. The end ofhis fucking galling gun is just lazing and
he's like one of the most fuckedup. He took one of those dark
troopers and he just kicked him offthe side of the legs. I was
(01:05:18):
like, okay, I did pausesgoaded. It's just like such like you
think, like, you look atthis episode's not over quite yet, but
you look at this and then youcompare it to the last episode and you're
like, where was this? Howdo we go from the previous episode to
this banger? But anyways, I'lllet you finish off the episode AND's death
(01:05:45):
his son, his son, Maybehe'll have like like a decent role in
season four, last whole detail, like he fought off all the all the
new Dark Troopers. He died fightingPraetorian guards and let's let's rewind backless shadow
cancel. Mof ordered three Petorian guardsbecause he said, I don't know if
(01:06:11):
you guys received my requests. Oh, we've received your request, moll.
You won't tie intoceptors and bombers andwhat else? Three Practorian guards. And
I thought I was being the somethingone, And now you understand why he
wanted three Praetorian guards. Ice foolsare tough and they're their best guard,
(01:06:32):
alloyed Praetorian guards with like a slightMandalorian look to their helmets. It was
just so crazy. I think Ido miss the look of like the Return
of the like like the O Gtrilogy Practorian guards though, because it's just
like a simple helmet and then theyjust wear a cloak. But this looks
(01:06:53):
cool. This is cool. Andthe way that their look like evolves over
a time, like all the wayinto the Last Jedi is interesting. But
insane. Music. The music, the epic music that just swalls in and
like the choir it was, itwas like a big cameo moment. And
and the way that they killed Pauses, it's just so brutal, like cut
(01:07:17):
the hamstring like one one stab tothe gut. I'm like, damn,
this is the most one of themost violent deaths I've ever seen on the
Mandolo. It was. I mean, it's kind of like the most violent
shoot you see the Star Wars.Yeah, that's just tough. But okay,
the episode is tild. The spiesthough, and this is something that
we haven't really talked about yet,but who are the spies? I mean
by going around the Starmer, thisis a big theory that we all want
(01:07:40):
to come true, at least Iwant to come true. I want her
to be root cast. I wanther to be a Mauldalorian Malorian Mauldalian.
Yeah, I wanted to be aMauldalorian. That that should be sick because
even fucking what's even one of myfamily's name, Mafion decided to model his
best car alloy armor after a Mauldalorian. He has a little horns his helmet.
(01:08:01):
Yeah what if he is like secretlya Mauldalorian as well, that'd be
cool. But no, I reallywant the Armor to be the spy.
I want that twist. I needthat twist. And the whole theory is
that, like the Armor was playingthis whole long con to bring all of
the Mandalorians together for the Empire sothe Empire could or the remnants of the
Empire could wipe them out. Yeah, I think she's the spy. And
(01:08:25):
then if you if you can tellthe way I've been talking about the pirates,
I think they're also spies. Idon't think so. I think they're
like I think they're like homeless Mandorianpeople. Dude, They're just like homeless
people on main War. That's howI few of them. But the Armor
theory, I think it's the mostlikely. But man, I've had so
many theories about Star Wars before, and they've almost none of them have come.
(01:08:50):
Drew Feloni in the whole squad. They do their own thing. But
here's what I will say about theending of the episode. Focus on she
Phantom menace, quigon Jin's the fuckingthe door open. Pretty much everybody escaping,
yeah yeah, yeah, yeah thatbit. Everybody escapes pretty much except
(01:09:11):
for Positives because he sees behind Dngot captured. He's going to the interrogation
room, and theisode ends. Ithink Dn Jarn dies for the finale.
Yeah, everybody who went through thehole that Bocaton cut open, they escape,
but they're captured in orbit by Thron'sfleet and that's where we get Thron's
(01:09:34):
cameo and they all die and theMandalorians are just like, I'm sorry,
Like that's just what happens to theMandalorians. Like, and Groghu lives somehow,
and he's like the last pretty muchthe last surviving Mandalorian because he is
actually a Mandalorian now at this pointin the story. I couldn't think of
a better way for that to end. That way introduced rons shocking, but
(01:09:56):
no, I definitely agree with thepossibility that that Dn Jarn dies, Like
I put that, I put thatout there and like a lot of folks
think, like, no, he'snot gonna die. Because like Thelonis movie
has to culminate the Mandovers and I'mlike, well, but it could be
previous to this previous Oh, Idon't know about that. I wouldn't want
(01:10:19):
that. I don't think I wantthat at all. Actually, Or he
could just not be about him.Yeah, no, like he could not
be involved in it at all.Or den Jarn could not be involved in
that Mando Verse movie because there's alot of other things that like are part
of the mando Verse, like charactersever introduced the Protectors, the Wrens,
like, so I could see themkilling him off. I'd be very sad,
(01:10:43):
but like after like I told youthis, like the first time we
try recording, the guns were higher, so I was like, listen,
if they killed him off, Iwouldn't even be surprised anymore. Yeah,
No, that that'd be that'd beinteresting. I'd like to see that.
I think that'd be good for theshow to do, like a insane shocking
killing off your main character type deal. It feels very Game of Thrones.
(01:11:04):
And one of the quotes that weheard like somebody saw a sneak preview of
it, or like they actually sawthe episode. They were like you guys
were asking for more and now you'regonna wish you didn't something like that.
Oh no, that that was theguy that you know folks talk about how
like, well, there there aretwo actors that are Didn't Jarn so action
(01:11:24):
scenes and then yeah, action sceneslike stunt doubles, and you know,
the rumors of Pagot of Pascal notalways on set, you know, like
it's not always him under the maskwhenever you see him on camera. Pretty
much. One of the other actorsthat portrays Didn't jar In when it's helmet
on is I think it's names likeBrendan Way or something like that. And
that's that's the guy that I wastalking about. You're gonna wish you didn't
(01:11:45):
have more, And I have noidea what's gonna happen. We're in for
a tragedy, that's all I know. I think there will be tragic I
think we will see we'll actually seePedro Pascal's face in the finale, because
we typically do that. That's whatpeople always talk about, is like we
always see like an emotional face revealfrom Pedro Pascal as din Jarn in every
finale of Mando No not Grogu dying, but like maybe like we get a
(01:12:12):
face reveal and like Din Jarn dies, but like Groger is like having him
type shit, you know, orits bow and Bow lives and this happened
a moment within Yeah, so I'llsee. Another big theory is that like
Bow gets or Dint gets mind lifeand forgets everything about Grog or whatever,
and then I don't know, we'llsee, and Grog was secretly just like
(01:12:34):
force controlling Din's mind. It wasjust like his butler. And shuldn't the
BM theory? I mean at thispoint right now, it's Tuesday, April
eighteenth. We got an hour andthirty eight minutes. Man, maybe I
should No, I shouldn't. Ishould get some sleep, for sure,
get some sleep. I should getsome sleep before my flight, for sure.
(01:12:56):
Check your bags. Yeah no,I gotta finish back in my backs.
Definitely. You're right. You're right. That's all I got in the
episode. Ten out of five outof this was fucking goddamn phenomenal. Shouts
to Rick Famu. It was directedby him. Yeah, I know this
guy. I'm pretty sure he's directingthe finale as well. Yeah, we'll
see, we'll see how the finalegoes, but yeah, RICKMYU give this
(01:13:17):
guy Starars movie. Give him BryceStyles Howard's Star Wars movie. They deserve
it. Anyways, folks, ifyou made it this far in episode one
twenty one, thank you so muchfor listening. Follow us on all our
socials because I mentioned earlier and Ican. We're probably gonna take a break

everything like how I go on thispodcast, but more short form. Thanks
