(00:24):
Yeah, I know, like, how do we who talks first? Who
talk first? I talk first? It's been so long. Hi everybody,
Hello, Hi, We're we're backback. We're back. Don't call it
a come back, so we neverwe never left. We did leave.
We definitely didn't leave for almost twomonths. You can call it a come

(00:45):
back. Actually all out this time. In case you are new here and
you decided to just listen to thebeginning of our email shows instead of going
back to our coverage of the Lastof US on HBO the entire season.
You're really weird. If that's thecase, Hey, no, we love
you. Be weird. It iswhat it is. I'm not I'm not.

(01:08):
I didn't say. I didn't meanweird as a pejorative. I just
meant it as it is. Bizarre. There is there's weird. Weird is
good, Strange is bad. Ithink that's I don't know about that unless
it's stranger things, in which caseis the best. Yeah, I just
have to do we have to diginto that. I think that would be
a whole other week. We wouldbe off on a completely different episode already

(01:30):
if we wanted to dig into thedeeper meanings there. So it's true.
Maybe we don't have to. Wedon't have to, but if you want
us to, yes, welcome strangers. I mean, I can't even say
strangers is bad because wayfair and Strangersis the name of our other Last of
Us podcasts. Yeah me doing,Yeah, all right. But if you're
if you're new here, hello,if you're not, welcome to the Last

(01:53):
Cast my sweatshirt. I finally,we finally got swag of our own shows.
The unofficial Last of Us recap podcastThis shell was hosted every single week
by Me, Jack and Andrew Hello. And what we did was we took
a deeper look into the mega TVseries event, the Last of Us,

(02:14):
and we broke it down. Weassessed, we compared, we contrasted,
and we had so much fun aswe went along, and even more so
having all of you guys with usfor that journey. But now we're starting
the email journey, which is goingto be over several episodes because it's a
lot, So be sure to grabyourself a cup of Joel's favorite blend and

(02:34):
let's get along with it. Doyou see what I did there? That's
great. I took our intro.Andrew is very I need to just sidebar
real quick. Andrew is very Weneeded an introduction because over on Wayfair and
Strangers were a little bit more fluid, a little bit more at you know,
but he didn't want any of thatfor the last cast, and I

(02:58):
agree. I think it was.It was good. Listen, Yeah,
listen, listen listenings. When youtake your headphones off, you don't need
to hear this part structure, Okay, repeatable structure. Yeah. I bet
some of you, when you listento this episode can verbatim talk along with

(03:20):
Jack. I am. I'm willingto wager that that's the case. I
do that right with deeper look atthe mega hits it because I know that
when I listen to my favorite podcastsand they're doing their rigmarole intro and everything
like that, in my head,I am going along with it. Yeah,
So I just find that to beit's very comforting. So we needed
to have that. I feel likeit's important I do that with mister ball

(03:42):
in twice a week sure, becausehe drops he drops twice a week,
once on Mondays and once on Thursdays. And if you guys know the Mister
Ball and show or podcast, youknow that I just kind of quoted a
little bit of that verbatim, soI understand, and I would if people
enjoyed that, let us know.I'd love to know that. If not,
we're still going to do it.No, they did enjoy it,
trust me. Hey yeah the comfort, Yeah yeah no. But hi everyone,

(04:09):
we're going to talk a little bitbefore we get to talking about our
schedule again, all of the itunereviews that have come in, and an
update for our giveaway winner, whichagain, you know, everything ground to
a halt. So we have beenworking NonStop for me actually more than normal,
and Andrew just pretty much like sixseven days a week and let's go.

(04:31):
And it's great, it's wonderful. We're grateful, we're fortunate to be
able to do the things that welove. It's great. But something suffered
along the way. So our break, which I really only wanted it to
be like like two to three weeks. When we reached the month mark,
I was like, all right,I'm feeling good. I really want to
get back to this, like Ireally want to get back to Wayfair and

(04:53):
I'm ready. I feel rested. It just couldn't happen because of schedules.
So now we have it on theweek. We're gonna be recording every Tuesday,
whether that's the last cast, whetherit's wayfaring, We're work that out
as we go along, but surein that in the interim, we've upgraded
a lot of components in our houseas well, so like I finally have

(05:16):
a new computer so you won't haveto listen to all that bullshit. I'm
on a dual monitor setup now,Andrew went down to a single monitor.
Some upgrades and furniture just sound likeall of the things we've kind of like
tinkered with, tweaked upgraded where wecould, and hopefully you guys can tell

(05:38):
Jack setup looks like a like acomplete hacker lab. Now. It's like
at the the monitors everywhere, it'sa lot of black mirrors all over you,
Like we getting into the main framehere, you know, give me,
I need two more minutes. Ineed two more minutes. One of
those two we don't got it?Yeah, yeah, we need it now,
We needed it yesterday. Who's myboss in this situation? Just by

(06:00):
the level of intensity, I wouldprobably say Nicholas Cage, but uh,
maybe Gerard Butler. I don't know. I'm just trying to think of someone
who would immediately jump to yelling athere. Those two actors came and I
would love to work with them bothin some capacity. But it's a lot
to deal with, lot to dealwith. Yeah, So again needed a

(06:21):
break, took a break. Itturned into an extended break. But we're
back and through all of that, you know, our our daughter was on
track and field. So we were, you know, running back and forth
five days a week. It was, you know, real life. But
I know the people who you knowa ride or die for us or love
us or just enjoy us media, you know to a medium level. Yeah,

(06:45):
you know who we're talking about. You know, you know who you
are. Yeah, but we're backin it. Yeah, today is today.
Today was a good day, andwe are recording our drop schedule,
probably going to go back to Thursdays. Were recording on Tuesday's drop on Thursdays
for both shows and our wrap upshow because we originally wanted to do a

(07:09):
like basically a season season one episodeone to nine Andrew We're going to rewatch
that basically shotgun the show, andthen do one solid podcast talking about our
overall thoughts of what they did withthe season. We're gonna save that to
the end of the email show justbecause again time, time is of the
essence, So time, yeah, but a TV, a lot of video

(07:30):
games, you know. Yeah, and then eventually we're going to dive into
that series about the book that Imentioned over on our Instagram, which,
by the way, over on InstagramInstagram which is tlou podcasts. Do follow
us there because I am starting thelike every other day post slash reels of

(07:51):
the Last of Us collection in ourhouse, which is going to be a
lot, so from artwork to trinkets, to autographs, like all of the
things. It's it's it's happening. So TLO tendrils of the Last of Us
reach far and wide in our house. If you touch it. It's kind

(08:13):
of like in the show. IfI were to touch one of the little
Last of Us things down here,Jackie would immediately come running down. She
would know, she would be notified, Ye that something is amiss, something's
amiss. Somebody's touching and yeah somebodyI didn't say, Andrew, somebody right
behind Andrew are three Last of Usthings on the wall, two records poster.

(08:37):
If you're a video watcher, Andrew, when are you going to post
the last two episodes eight and nineon our YouTube channel. Again a timing
issue. Yeah, it was abad timing. Here's the thing that happened.
I finished episode eight, but Ididn't export it because it's time consuming.
I can export it. I gotto export it, but it takes

(08:58):
time and I need it's cycles, you know, computer cycles. So I'll
get that one up. Episode ninewe unfortunately, due to a just a
terrible series of malfunctions, have novideo for that episode. So that would
just be like a video with audioof like portraits of us that has audio

(09:20):
playing underneath of it. You don'tget the full experience as it were for
episode nine. However, I amputting those on the docket for to complete
alongside this version as well. Ibelieve when I was it, hey,
I mean hey, you know,if it gets done, it gets done.
If it doesn't get done, ohmy goodness, it we'll get done.
Thank you, guys. I'll doit in exchange for I don't know,

(09:41):
five or six more podcast reviews. You know that's extortion. Oh,
speaking of reviews, we have fourpretty pretty big ones, so I think
we'll switch off. You can takethe first one, because it's you,
it's your best friend. In thewhole world. It's my PESTI, it's
your bests, Mikey twelve Balls.Mike says, great pod about a great

(10:05):
show. I've enjoyed listening to thisgreat podcast. You can feel the amount
of care and dedication to the lastof us that Jack and Andrew put into
each episode. Having never played thegame, this pod has been very informative
and provides me all the little detailsI might have missed. I appreciate the
opportunity to learn more and just mighthave to start playing the game. Keep
up the good work. It's beenan awesome ride so far. You'd love

(10:26):
to hear it. You'd love tohear it, which is a phrase that
I love to hear it. It'strue and they say to each other all
the time. Yeah, Mike, thank you so much. We love you
and we would absolutely love for youto play the games. Please. They
just remade the first one I hearand in September. Good the best,

(10:50):
the best. Yeah. So Mikeactually sent that review in on March twenty
first, which was I think twodays after we posted episode nine. Were
you And I was like shit,I was like, you were so close,
So yes, here we are.Make the email episode though, that's
great he made the email episode,So thank you, Mike. You're you're

(11:11):
you're the best. We love you. The next review is from ALBS two
eight three seven six three seven eightand the title is hashtag Joel is innocent
Interesting me Obs says, I lovethis podcast. I listened on Spotify,
but I had to download Apple Podcastsjust to give a review. Besides new

(11:35):
that really is thank you so much, Besides newt Lou episodes. It's the
one thing I look forward to eachweek. Sad the season is over,
but looking forward to bonus episodes. You guys are awesome. Keep feeding us
ps. Joel did nothing wrong. You have your best friend. ALBS is
now my best friend. Thank youso much for the review. We're glad

(11:58):
week. Hopefully, hopefully everything youknow has been well since you sent this
review and we took a hiatus, but we're back and hopefully you come back
and hang out with us. That'sthe whole point I was getting to.
There was a long walk. Butthe craziest thing about that review is that
there were twenty eight million, threehundred and seventy six thousand, three hundred

(12:18):
and seventy eight other albs that usedApple Podcast. Oh, I mean,
you know what, It's a bigworld. Good. Hey, look,
and there are a lot of Thereare a lot of people presumably named Aubrey.
I don't know. It's a wonderfulname. Oh look the next review

(12:39):
you know who that is. Thisone is from someone named SMO sixteen o
seven. The title is Telu DeepDive. Not a Telou gamer, but
I might be soon. I lovedthe show. I loved listening to Jack
and Andrew deep dive into the episodeseach week. I got to experience the

(13:00):
episodes a second time without watching asecond time. The detailed deep dive in
thought process was amazing, and Icertainly enjoyed when Jack and Andrew didn't see
eye to eye. I ever,I don't know about that. I don't
think that ever happened. Jack's unparalleledpassion and Andrew's alternate theories draw you in
and are very engaging alternate theor ofwhat they loved it. Thanks you too,

(13:24):
alternate theories because every time all right? First of all, sound like
a flat earther in that well?I have another I have another idea.
What if the earth, the Earthhas shaped like a bowl. Guys,
if the boot fits uh no,that was my sister. Thank you,
sir so much for leaving us areview. So you had Mike and Prista

(13:48):
the most, damn you and Iwould absolutely love if my sister and we
would put this on our Twitch,Twitch dot tv Forward Slash Telu podcast.
We would put my sister on thereto play the Last of Us because she's
not a gamer. She was asa kid, she was she loved Mario,

(14:11):
but I'm not doing this today.Okay. She loved all of that
when she was a kid, likefirst grade can garden all that stuff,
and then you know, just grewaway from it. But I would absolutely
give anything to see my sister playthe Last of Us on Police Station five.
So please, if there's enough supportfor this, I will pressure her

(14:33):
and get that to happen. Butthank you so much for the reviewses.
Okay, all right, that's great. And the last one Jen from n
l V n V it's Northern LasVegas, Nevada. Northern Las Vegas,
Nevada. Is that true? Idon't know. It's like, is that
a northern Las Vegas? If itis cool? Maybe that's the room.

(14:58):
Maybe I thought maybe no, Ithought maybe it was like another podcast.
I'm going to do a Google searchfor you, Jen. We're doing a
Google search, but Jen says, loving the last guest, I am a
fan of HBO's the Last of Us, and I have not played the game,
nor am I a gamer. However, I have ended let me get
through a city of North Las Vegas. Oh my god, Jen, is

(15:20):
that really what that means? It'sliterally just I eat some shit up and
it turned out to be true.I think I don't know, I could
I could be totally wrong, butit is literally the first result North Las
Vegas. Jen, please email ussorry tlou podcast at gmail dot com to
let us know if we are rightor way wrong. I'm very curious now,

(15:41):
but there you go. Andrews elatedwith himself. Yes, look at
him wiping his tears for the videopeople. So continuing, however, I
have enjoyed this show and the insightsprovided about the game. Compared to the
show, the banter and spirited debatebetween these two engaging hosts is always interesting
and entertaining. Looking forward to moreepisodes of this great podcast. Jen,

(16:04):
thank you so so much for thisreview. I love that we there's been
a I'm not a gamer, butthere's a lot of that. Those sentiments
echoed in our reviews, not justfrom today, but the whole journey of
this podcast. And I think that'sa really awesome thing because I know some
of the folks who have left usreviews are now listening to Wayfar and Strangers

(16:27):
having never even played the game, which just just cool to me. That's
great. Yeah, I love that, And it seems to be the prevailing
sentiment for this show, specifically moreso than any other of the adaptations that
we have seen for things thus far, which is cool. Yeah. So
yeah, it's a it's a Itwas a cinematic thing that transcended the medium
of gaming even before it was evenadapted. So it just makes it actually

(16:51):
makes a lot of sense that peopleare like and don't play this game,
but I, you know, I'minterest either intend to or I don't or
I don't even need to because thisis so engaging. Surely cool. It
is very cool. But thank youguys so much, Jen, Krista Obbs,
and Mike. We appreciate y'all andeveryone else who has left us five
stars on Spotify and Apple Podcasts, everyone who's left a review from this point

(17:18):
up to this point, and obviouslyforward. We just are so appreciative,
So Andrew will do his war cryat the end of the show as always.
And just a quick update for ourgiveaway winner, Annalie. We messaged
a week ago. I still haven'tsent your package out, and I apologize.
It is literally sitting ready right byour door. It was like last
weekend was Mother's Day weekend and Iwas away, and then I was relaxing

(17:41):
all day and there's no mail onSundays. Where had no post on Sundays.
And then the week before we wereout with track meet. It was
it's yeah, so plenty of time. This week, we're making it happen.
Thank you for being patient. ButI just wanted to, you know,
give it heads up. So nowwe're gonna swim which over and talk
about the emails and they go.We started receiving them in January. So

(18:11):
do you want to take the firstone? Do you want me take the
first one? Would you want todo I would love to, Andrew up.
I would love to know there's whatare you talking about? Through the
magic of editing, nothing happened atall. January seventeenth, twenty twenty three
feels like a lifetime out timely. This is from Thomas Jay maybe Thomas Jane.

(18:37):
I don't know, there's no wayof knowing. Hi, Jack and
Andrew. Fresh off the premiere episodeof HBO's The Last of Us show,
I finally was able to complete myplaythrough of the first game last night.
I recently replaced my PS four witha brands bank in new PS five,
so that sent me back for aday. Annie who. I never realized
that when we first get to playas Ellie during the Winter Deer Hunting sequence,

(19:00):
as players, we can look throughher artifacts and she actually comments on
each item. This was a touchingfine for me. Riley's firefly pendant and
the note from her mom were particularlyspecial and added to the heap of reasons
for loving this masterpiece after all theseyears. I realized this show has just
come out and that'll be undoubtedly betaking up quite a bit of podcast time.

(19:23):
Rightfully so, but I cannot waitfor you and Andrew to take us
through the final portion of the gameand to listen to wayfaring thoughts about the
hospital scenes and ending. As always, keep up the great work indoor and
survive Zombie Tom Something's great name.That's a good PS I know I'm a

(19:45):
bit late to the party, butas far as casting for the role of
David, tim Blake Nelson immediately cameto mind. He has that face that,
in my opinion, would lend itselfperfectly to that role, especially when
you think of his in game voice. So there you go. Interesting.
Well again, this came out wellbefore we knew who David was, That's

(20:06):
right. So yeah, this guy, huh huh hmm. Do I know
Nelson? Do I know Tila,Tim Tip? Do I know him?
Maybe I just know Tim Blake.Nelson is Buster scrugs from the ballat of
Buster Scrugs. Oh, I mean, you guys been in a lot of
stuff. He is like one.He is like a titular that guy.
Um, but he certainly does havethe vibe for sure. Yeah, and

(20:30):
we should have probably said this atthe start spoiler warnings just in case for
people who don't know what happens inthe Last of Us Part two. Again,
we were We never spoiled. Wetried very hard not to spoil while
we were covering the show. WayfarerStrangers is spoiler territory, of course,
but we don't like I've I've I'veread through these Andrew has not, so

(20:52):
I know some of them talk aboutsome future things, so just be warned.
Tom. I love that you pickedup a PS five, played the
game after watching the show, relivedeverything, and yeah, Elliott Winter,
that was actually one of the trophiesI remember popping the first time was when
you finally go through everything and Riley'spendant and stuff like that. That's when

(21:14):
it clicked for me. So Ialways really liked that experience in the note
from Anna her mom and now again, you wrote this on January or sent
this on January seventeenth, and thenwe finally met Anna and the show.
So a lot of this is ithas like it's just built upon everything,
which I think is really wonderful.Yeah, we're coming up. We're on

(21:37):
or coming up to Winter in thegame. In the game, we have
this one the back half of theuniversity to do. And then yeah,
yeah, right, yeah, we'relike we're like right there, we are
right there. We've been right therefor like five months. You know,
we had this, We had thiswhole other Proci production show that we had

(22:00):
like to watch and talk about seeminglyfor days. Some episodes, You're so
may I still hear about this justfyi people about how long our episodes are,
and just double fyi, Andrew.People loved how long our episodes were,
so I'm not saying anything. I'mnot commenting on anything other than that

(22:26):
they were. I have no opinionother than the fact that they were six
to eight hours long. Our nextemail comes on January thirty first, twenty
twenty three from Jeff S who's alsoa listener of Wayfarer and Strangers. So
very happy to see you here aswell. Jeff, Hi, Jack and
Andrew. I'm not sure if youhave a different email for last cast,

(22:48):
but I had this address already listeningto your talk about episode two. During
the quote how hard are the platesmeeting the fungal plates on Clickers discussion,
one of the unique features of thefungal kingdom that their cellular walls. Remember,
animals do not have cellular walls, but plants do contain kitan, which
is the same protein as arthropods havein their exoskeletons. Plants have cell cellulose

(23:11):
and no kitan. Their kitan isscell walls. I'm not a scientist,
may have been used in a differentway in the Clickers than in quote typical
mushrooms. The material is already presentin the fung guy to make something hard
and durable. Perhaps this explains thetoughness of the clickers and more cheers and
keep up the good work Jeff.First, Jeff, thank you so much

(23:34):
writing in and yeah. Second second, it's so interesting and this is part
of the reason why I really wantto read that book that I mentioned on
our Instagram five months ago and Ican't fucking remember the title now, So
it's called called Entangled Life by Merlinshell Drake. So on what was the

(23:56):
day, March third, I said, we're probably going to do like a
special bonus series about this, andI'm looking forward to this because just everything
that Jeff talked about in this email, and some of the questions that you
and I talked about in our discussionsthroughout the entire season, talk about things
like that because while you're gaming, like you're just scared because you're the one

(24:18):
in control of either Joel or Ellietrying to get the hell out of Harm's
way, essentially, But when you'rewatching the show, you have a little
bit more time to be like,Ah, I wonder like are those plates
tough or are they Can you justkind of, you know, so I
wonder, yeah, just a littlebit, and I you know, that's

(24:38):
just the inherent nature of translating agame to a different medium, I think.
But learn something new today. We'retalking about kitan and proteins and Arthur
pods and exoskeletons. Is wonderful,so very very interesting. So Jeff,
thank you very much for that andteaching us something new on this wonderful Thursday.

(25:02):
There we go, There we go, there we go. We're moving
into February here, February twenty twentythree. It's they're all from twenty twenty
three, February twenty second. Yeah, I know, yeah, but people
listening in the future, I'm justsaying right now that every email we read
today and the rest of this episode, it'll be from twenty twenty the year

(25:25):
of our Lord, twenty twenty three. This is from Chris p which is
a familiar name. Sure, HiChris, Chris says, Hijack, Hi
Andrew, listening to this fine bidoMinusha Minusha, actually minusha discussion Minusha,

(25:47):
and just wanted to comment you hadmentioned concerning the big beautiful flowering effect on
the clickers that toadstools and mushrooms aresoft and break apart easily. Mostly.
Yes, I can feel it now, all moist and crumbly. But I
have tried to break off those layeredhalf circles that grow upon tree bark,
sometimes nine or ten inches out fromthe tree, and they have been extremely

(26:11):
hard. Like I couldn't have brokenthem off with a rock. Oh,
I could have broken them off witha rock, but just trying to pull
them off was a no go.They were literally rock hard, so that
was unexpected. But I imagine thatover time the clicker plates would get hard
as well. Okay, thanks, keep up the awesomeness, Chris, look
at this. We really like struckupon something that was interesting. So we

(26:33):
had a little bit of signs andthen from Chris, or we had a
little bit of signs from Jeff andnow from Chris like practical application essentially,
And he's right, I didn't thinkabout that, think about those plates.
Yeah, I legitimately you all sixof us we all went to Bushkill Falls
like a year or two ago,and there was just like, oh my

(26:55):
god, all of these fungal platesup all the trees, like this beauty
full fern growth. It was gorgeouswhere we were, and I remember like
kind of knocking on them. I'mlike, yeah, that's pretty damn hard,
and I just completely forgot about thatuntil Chris brought this back. So
that's true, very interesting. Youkind of just think of it as like,
oh, that's just how trees growsometimes, but not that although they

(27:17):
bring the fungus with them from theground. Yeah, it grows up the
side or I don't know how thatworks. Well, it's all spores.
It's where the spores land spores. There are no spores in the Last of
Us and moving on. So ournext email comes again from Chris on February

(27:40):
fifth. Chris so hated one time. Yes, very points. Yeah,
I don't like how this one startsup. Yeah, this is this could
be a little Chris doesn't pull backand this is Chris. So, here's
the problem I have with Bella Ramsey. There's nothing really wrong with her performance

(28:02):
so far. She's good at playingEllie. She's scrappy and hard, then
in a moment she's vulnerable and scared. It's fine, better than fine actually.
But one of the best achievements ina huge list of great achievements that
the Last of Us gave us wasEllie. We grew to love this awesome
little kid who grows up into anamazing young woman, and it seems real
the developer's age, this seemingly realperson, and it was mind blowing.

(28:26):
They created a human being so fleshedout and nuanced, so visually and emotionally
realistic that she might as well havebeen real. And we love her,
and that's one hell of an achievement. And they put her through hell and
we were there through it all.And her look and feel is very specific,
and the player learns who the playerlearns her and who she is.

(28:48):
Then the show says, yeah, forget all that this is Ellie, So
believe this very different person is actuallythis other person and go. Bella Ramsey
does a really good job playing Ellie, but she's not Ellie. I don't
know. I guess you could saythat about Joel or iterations of a thousand
other characters from a thousand other translatedproperties. But this just feels different,

(29:10):
or this just seems different. Ilike the show, I like the HBO
Joel and Ellie, but it justkind it's just kind of a fact simile
to me at this point, Pieceout, Piece Out jays specifically to me,
Wow, thanks Chris. So Idon't have you tread lightly. No,
no, no, I don't haveto tread lightly because we all have

(29:32):
our opinions and none of us aredickheads about it period. Neither is Chris.
And I just want to say thatfirst and foremost, like, if
people get upset with Chris's review, take a moment and think about why that
is. He's not saying anything abouthow she looks, how she acts,
how she sounds, how she presentsherself, or they. I know,
Bella uses all pronouns, so I'mjust naturally my brain went to she I

(29:57):
hope I don't offend anybody, butI understand where Chris is coming from because
Game Ellie is my Ellie and GameJol is a million percent my Jol.
And it was really difficult for mein the beginning. In the beginning,
it was really difficult. And thenI had this like cool, nebulous period

(30:17):
in the middle of the show whereI was like, oh no, this
is cool, Like they're just theirown it's their own iteration of these characters.
They're not replacing them. And Istill believe that. And then towards
the end I started getting a littlepissed off again, and I even got
to the point where, like themonth after the show ended, I was
like, do I even really likethe show that much? But it wasn't

(30:37):
about my perception of it or howI received it. It was I was
so fucking tired of hearing about iteverywhere and people basically not given a fuck
about the game. And that's thegatekeeper gatekeeper inside of me, which is
my own problem. So that goesback to if something offends us, sit
with it and be like, whyis this offending me? And my realization

(31:00):
is I'm trying to protect a propertythat is not mine to protect. It's
supposed to be enjoyed by everybody andand brought in and experienced by their own
or your own environment and how youcome to it. And that's the beautiful
thing about fictional properties and storytelling. But I understand what Chris is saying,

(31:22):
because my the Ellie that I whenI close my eyes and I think of
Ellie, it's game Ellie. AndI love Bella. She did a knockout
performance as Ellie on the TV show. But that's where it starts and stops
for me. Yeah, Well,it's all about what you bring into it,
I think, sure, right,So I have no I have no
notes on on this one. Itry to treat them as separate things,

(31:45):
you know, I give it theold College to try. Let's put it
that way. When we get toyou've vote at that, you're very good
at that I endeavor to be.But you know, it's it's not always.
Here's what I'll say. It islike will will I have the wherewithal
when we get to properties like Horizonand God of War, right, that

(32:07):
are a little more What they havedone with the Last of Us is remarkable
in terms of making it its ownthing, right, And I assume that
that's what that's hopefully the path thatNetflix and Amazon are going to take when
they respectively do Horizon and God ofWar. Sure, but you know I
also love those stories deeply, Soum, I guess maybe I can do.

(32:30):
You know what I was just Ilike I was thinking about it.
I was like, I just Icould undo my own argument because like I've
watched and loved like every version ofSpider Man has ever existed, sure,
and almost every version of Batman thathas existed. So I'll be fine.
Yeah, And you're not by nature, You're not a possessive man like you're

(32:52):
you're you don't sit there and claimownership over things or kind of plant your
flag and say this is how itis. Otherwise get you know GTFL.
That's a weird way to be.Well that, but that's how I am,
and and I'm telling you it's aweird way to be well, well,
I don't care. That's how Ijust think it's I think it's a

(33:12):
good topic talking topic too, Andwe could probably spend a lot of time
on this because there's there there arethe section of people on the internet who
just fucking suck. They just fuckingsuck, And everybody knows who I'm talking
about. They're just they're they're antiLGBTQ, they're transphobia or they're transphobic,

(33:36):
excuse me, they're homophobic, they'reracist, they're they're sexist, they're every
ist in the fucking book. Andthe opinions of those people do not fucking
matter. But unfortunately they are theloudest sometimes, and that's what irritates everyone
else. And that's what gets youknow, all of our like our heckles

(33:58):
just to be like why are youlike, oh, like, why can't
I just go on the Internet andenjoy something or have an opinion. It's
like, you can't go on theInternet and enjoy something because then someone's gonna
shoot you down for being a fuckingidiot because why would you like that thing?
Or you can't go on the Internetand say I don't like this thing
for these very valid reasons, becausethen you're gonna have people who are just

(34:19):
over the top extreme with their lovefor it, that are just absolutely no
criticism whatsoever exists in their brain, and then they're like, how fucking dare
you? And then they ruin it. So it's like it's the extreme sides
of each arguments that the middle peopleare just like constantly attacked by, which
is why I'm really not on Twitteranymore. And I never thought I would

(34:43):
say that because I love Twitter.I've met so many people that I love
and have deep, very deep relationshipswith, but I'm maybe on their three
or four minutes a day because I'mlike, every time I go on,
somebody's fucking upset about something that reallyin the grand scheme, it's like,
sit down, calm downs, gotouch grass, Like have you been outside

(35:08):
not in months? Yeah? Probablynot? But anyway, I just yeah,
so I appreciate Chris talking about this, even though it's not going to
resonate for everyone, and it doesn'thave to. That's his opinion. These
are our opinions. You have yourown. We're not trying to change anyone
or change anyone's thoughts. It's just, yeah, it's hard to rectify something

(35:30):
that we love deeply with a newface. I agree. I think if
you can go in, if youcan, if you can go in with
the cleanest slate possible. Right, here's what I'll say. It is like,
it's not gonna it's not gonna thesame way. It doesn't translate for
game players sometimes it probably won't workthe other way for people who have started
on the show, right, andthey're like, what the hell's this about?

(35:51):
Right, I don't think about itthat way. And I'm not just
talking about like jumping mediums. Likeif someone's never played a video game before
or haven't played since before, ordual analog sticks and they try to get
in the last of us to belike this is stupid, right, or
video game so hard? Just puta controller in your mom's hand and try
to watch or play Call of Duty. It's hilarious, rude, but it

(36:14):
would be hilarious as rude as itmight be. So Yeah, if you
have the opportunity to, you know, take a beat, you know,
have a meditation on it, belike deep breath. Yeah, here's something
brand new, you know. Ifeel like that's a that's a great way
to approach a property. However,I also realized that people are very passionate
about this one specifically. Sure, yeah, people will be people. Yeah,

(36:39):
I am actually talking to people rightnow. Yes, Hi on people?
Are you? Are you are upnext? All right? February sixth.
This is from Connie. Connie sayslove the show, just discovered it.
I am not a gamer, althoughmy son played the game. Just
curious where jack is from. Shesounds so she's like a friend of mine.

(37:00):
It blows me away. My friendwas raised in Pittsburgh, went to
college in Philadelphia, and stayed inthe area. My friend does not have
a typical Pittsburgh accent, but theaccentuation in her speech is identical to Jackie.
Connie, I wish I had somesort of sound effect to play.
Do I have anything here? MaybeI don't know? Oh I do done?

(37:24):
You did it? Surprisingly, Connie, both Andrew and I are from
Philadelphia, but Andrew has chosen toallow time to soften his Philadelphia accent,
whereas I can't. Here's the deal, try as I might, people have
just oh I hear it? Ohyeah, yeah, try as I might.

(37:44):
I can't because I don't know whatI don't know, right, That's
one of the things, like Icould say and I do endeavor to say
water, right, something that's simple. I could and I have, and
my brain wants to say, goget some water. I want to.
You literally just said water, Iknow as the example, right, that's

(38:07):
where I want in the words leadingup to I'm going to get a drink
of My brain's like water, water, water, water, but my mouth
wants to say yeah, so mucheasier. Yeah, it's funny because I
and I don't. I probably havetold this story before, maybe on Wayfaring,

(38:28):
But you're using the unmistakably Star WarsCup today, which was really the
first podcast that I ever started on. Seriously, I was on that show
for a really long time. AndKristin RiPP Yeah it's been a while.
Ye yes, I'm gonna haven't beenon no no, no, no,
I mean the podcast itself. Idon't think you could even listen to it
if you wanted to. Oh youcan, you can? Okay, yeah

(38:49):
right, I mean I haven't checkedin months, but every once in a
while, I'm like, is itstill yeah, it's still there? Just
f y. I I come inaround like episode sixty something. Nice.
That was really the first introduction toOh yeah, no, I have a
very specific accent because those all ofthe people that I was on that podcast

(39:10):
with Living California. So it wasjust like, that's not accurate either,
but it was. Yeah, itwas very interesting to to to have that
discussion every once in a while, like water and water. But I remember
on the show I would try,I would force myself to say water,

(39:30):
water, and I say it's hard, I can't It's very difficult for me.
And then for a while it's stuck. And then I was like fuck
this, like I'm not trying,I'm not changing for no one. Water
fair enough? You know, nailedit, Na done, Connie. Yeah,
your your ability to pick up regionaladdiction kiss unmatched, really and I

(39:58):
love that. Connie specifically wrote likethank you for loving the show so much.
We're so happy that you're here andthat hopefully your son enjoyed the game
enough to tell you about it.Maybe you watched with your son, who
knows. I would guess that's thecase, but the fact that you wrote
in just to talk about the accidentjust delights me. So it's great.
February eighth from Bell, Hey,Jack, and Andrew. I found the

(40:20):
last cast after searching on Spotify forsomething to fill the empty void between the
weekly episode Watch HBO podcast Listen andepisode rewatch. Loving your extensive takes on
the episodes. My wife refuses toengage with me on anything TELU related,
so it's nice to hear someone else'sopinions on the show. I was binge
playing The Last of Us all throughoutmy pregnancy, and when I gave birth

(40:44):
to our son, we named himJesse All. I love this. We
can't talk about that yet. Can'twait to introduce him to the games when
he's older. Anyway, just wantedto stop by and say thanks for such
an awesome podcast, and I'm lookingforward to catching up One Way Strangers once
the HBO series finishes. We'll beback to that shortly. I'm curious as

(41:05):
to what you guys would list asyour favorite moment of the show so far
and something you are looking forward toseeing in the upcoming episodes. For me,
it was being in the truck duringthe outbreak sequence in episode one.
It felt exactly like stepping into thegame and it was awesome. I'm looking
forward to seeing elements of Left Behindand Riley's character in future episodes. Keep
up the great work, guys.Bell in Edinburgh? Did I say Edinburgh?

(41:30):
Right? Edinburgh? Not like Edinburgh? Edinburgh? Let us know about
Edinburgh. Isn't that where the comedyfestival is in Scotland? Am I?
Am I wrong about that? I'mpretty sure it's Edinburgh. Is it Edinburgh?
Yeah? I mean I could betotally wrong, but I believe that
there's like a massive the Edinburgh ComedyFestival where it's just like a massive days

(41:52):
or weeks long comedy festival in likeI could. Yeah, the yankster probably
wrong. Let us know about Pleasethe capitals right? Like? Am I
crazy? I'm going to talk aboutthis wonderful email, So thank you so

(42:13):
much for writing in and just ohgod, first of all the fact that
you would, like I needed tofill the void between the official podcast the
or the episode the official podcast neverrewatching the podcast like you are just absolutely
wonderful and then then the fact thatyour wife just refuses, no, I

(42:35):
will not now I do no.Um. But Jesse I love. I
love that you named your son Jesse, which is interesting. I'm assuming your
wife does know Jesse's a character inthe Last of Us. It was okay,
hey, in the future. Obviously, we can't talk about that because

(42:55):
spoilers. But yeah, that's soexciting, like introduced saying that I remember
I played the Last of Us withBella, our our our daughter, I
think a year and a half ago, two years ago. I think I
played it through with her, andit is just such a wonderful feeling sharing
something as a parent that you loveso much with your child. Yeah,

(43:17):
and then Bella loved the Last ofUs show on HBS, HBS on HBO
and huge Pedro fan of course,But just yeah, I hope that you
enjoyed the whole season and the leftBehind and the introduction of Riley's character in
that whole episode. Because again, this email was from February eighth, so

(43:42):
the whole season has happened since thisemail. Yeah. As for favorite moments
in the show, yeah, Iit is tough. I loved when they
deviated from the source material the mostEpisode three. Yeah, episode three,

(44:06):
I was going to talk about thatend answer with Joel and Ellie in the
car as they're leaving Bill and Frank'shouse and she has no idea what what
the fuck is he belt is?Things like that, Those are just such
beautiful moments when they're by the campfire, me sharing the little like swig of
alcohol. I think that those momentsare really special and definitely things that I

(44:28):
always wished were in the game. But from a practical standpoint, it didn't
make too much sense to put thatinto a game, because how you know.
But yeah, the in between momentswere definitely my favorite throughout the entire
series. I love the Left Behindepisode, but I think for the most
part it was pretty much I almostidentical to what happened in the game,

(44:52):
So they didn't branch out too farwith that, which was obviously fine.
I mean they did here and therelittle places, but but yeah, I
just I don't know. I thinkthe beauty is found within the moments that
I didn't know we're coming. Yeah, those are mostly my answers too for

(45:14):
me. Episode three as a wholeincredible. If I had to give a
specific moment of that episode was readingthe letter from Bill at the end.
I really that that really stuck withme. The moments between Ellie and Sam,
like when they're down in the sewersand they found the little refuge and

(45:35):
there and she's you know they dolike the fuck yeah, like the double
high five. I think that's Ithink that's when that happens. When they're
they're like me bee drawing or somethingthat kind of stuff. The small moments
again, when like when they getwhen Ellie and Joel do get to Jackson
and they like go buy they goby like the sheep and Ellie like makes
the comment to Joel because he likewanted to be like a sheep farmer on

(45:59):
you know that. I I justthought that that was like, you know,
all of those tiny touches that youwould expect are there. That's those
are like my favorite parts. They'renot obviously like obviously the sniper sequence is.
The big set pieces are incredible andbeautiful to look at and bombastic and

(46:19):
everything you would hope for. Butthe this story and this shows is about
moments, yeah, And it's justlike, oh, pick your favorite tiny
moment like whatever that happens to be. And that's kind of how I approach
it. Yeah, yeah, Iabsolutely agree. We are going to do
one more for this episode. Bell, you gotta let us know edinburroh yes,

(46:42):
please write us again. Please. And that's the other thing too,
just because we're doing these email shows. Once they're done or once we're caught
up, obviously we'll stop the emailshows, but as soon as we get
any emails in, we'll just continuethem. It doesn't go it doesn't get
by us that we have like aliterally like a global audience. It's incredible.
Yeah, it really is incredible,so good, and the emails just

(47:06):
get progressively longer, which is justwonderful because the storyline gets progressively more more
so more it gets moah, yeah, okay, can I call an audible
and us do two more? Butyou read this one and I read the
next one. Oh yes, okay, I see why you're jumping ahead.

(47:30):
Yeah, so you just you readthis one. Yes, the next one
is the length of both of thelast kind of put together. But also
it looks aimed at me. Yes. It is February nineteenth from Jared B.
I never thought i'd see the daywhere I find someone who is more
obsessed with the games than I am. It's very nice to be able to

(47:51):
listen to a nice short podcast fromat least two hours long. Jared,
stop, please, John travilta giftwhere he's like, look at it,
like that's me with my time.Where the fuck did my time go?
Since I do a lot of drivingfor my work and walking around with my
AirPods in my ears, I canfinally enjoy listening to one of my favorite

(48:15):
topics throughout the day. Yeah,we do cover most of our episodes do
run about a work day. Yeah, you looked, Jared, Thank you
so much. We are. Imean, I'm just I'm so glad that
you just love the you know, last of us so much that you sought
out a podcast and found us andnow here we are just hanging out or
here we were, but we wereback. So yeah, hopefully you can

(48:38):
walk around with us or work ordrive again. But the email episodes are
going to be a little bit shorter. Okay, yeah, but well you
know, just more more of them, just shorter, shorter. Yes,
it's editing on the back back endthat makes it difficult. All right.
This is uh February twenty one, twenty twenty three. This is from James
Gee Hey. Firstly, you canone hundred percent call me Jimmy, jim

(49:02):
Jimbo, Jimothy, or just plainold James, whatever floats your boat,
as I'd love to be Internet friendswith y'all. Jimothy is a real solid
contender. I love that if maybewhat if we just remove the E and
we call you Jams about that thatwould go. Secondly, thank you so

(49:24):
much for the kind words. Guys. It's so awesome when you come across
people that could be on the otherside of the world and share a connection
to something you are so passionate about, especially if it's hard to find people
in your real life circles that canrelate. Definitely more accessible now with the
show, Jack, You've smashed outof the park with this incredible idea to
delve deep into the world of Telu, because as much as it is realistic,

(49:49):
it also feels like another fully fleshedout universe that allows for much interpretation,
exploration, and theorizations. I bingedevery episode. Can't forget the bonus
and listener artifacts after stumbling across theJeffrey Pierce episode on Twitter when that dropped
Wayfaring West is just a chef's kissidea to be able to nerd out about
filling in the gaps on Joel andEllie's journeys and analyze scenarios that would never

(50:14):
have been brought to light if notfor the two of you. You mentioned
that you may be doing a bonusshow for the last cast, so I'll
throw out a question, so far, can you both name one aspect that
you feel has been perfectly changed forthe show and one that you wish they'd
kept closer to the source material? So one great change versus unfavorable change if

(50:36):
you can. And a bonus questionfor Andrew. Excitement level for john Wick
four in four words? You dothat first because you only have four words
to work with, but he hassince seen john Wick four of course.
Yeah. I mean leading up toit, and even in the seats and
during the film, the four wordsare, oh my fucking god, there

(51:00):
we have it, there we gofilm. This is the best picture.
I don't know what else could Idon't know what to tell you. I
don't have to tell you jams.Uh yeah, it's the best. It
was so good. Did you likeGuardians of the Galaxy three or john Wick
four? More? John Wick four? Please, you will not there will

(51:22):
not be a movie that comes outthis year. You're like, it's like
a John Wick four, Oppenheimer,it's John Wick four. Baby, it's
over. Oppenheimer doesn't get out.I'm kicking Andrew out. We haven't matter.
We have a new open spot onthe Last Cast and Wayfair and strangers
right in. If you want tobe a part of it. People,
it's great because I'm starting the wickerVerse. Pick. Oh my god,

(51:45):
I can comped on So all right, James, thank you so much for
writing in. James left that wonderfulreview where you know, you did all
the Jimothy Jim James all that stuff, which was just wonderful. But I'm
just it's so affirming to hear thatwhat we are doing with both of our
shows is like a you know, maybe I'm speaking on a term, but

(52:09):
a little bit of a breath offresh air for podcasting, because I don't
think many people do this. Andtrue crime, of course, true crime
podcasts break things down at a molecularlevel sometimes with certain series and things like
that, because they have to.It's such an enormous story. You can't
leave things out, so on andso forth. This is just fiction that
we are basically following the tendrils andseeing where we end up in discussion,

(52:32):
and I love it. It bringsme so much joy being a part of
these shows, especially with you Andrew, and having this time together and then
sharing it with everyone else and gettingemails like this. It really just affirms
everything that we set out to doand continue to do. And I love
especially that the Jeffrey Pierce interview iswhat brought you into the fold. I

(52:58):
love that and our more popular piecesof content, you know, by far
and rightly. So yeah, itwas great. He was great. He
was just again I said this wordso many times that people were probably like
shot off jock, but delightful humanbeing. Yeah, absolute, like knockout
of a person to sit down withand just fucking talk. And my nerves
just like dissipated within probably three fourminutes, which is unusual for me,

(53:24):
so unusual. Yeah, or forthen, I'm a lot better now because
I'm like happy and even and stufflike that. But to go to one
aspect that we feel is perfectly changedfor the show, So one great change
versus one unfavorable change, one greatchange and one unfavorable change. Episode three

(53:46):
is an easy answer to that youknow, yeah, it is it.
I mean, yeah, I haveto go with that. I have to
go with Bill and Frank's relationship beingfleshed out and given its own episode.
I think that that was a fantasplastic change and addition, I think for
the sake of just having different answers, Like, I completely agree with you.
I do like I did like thechanges to Kansas City, which was

(54:14):
in Kansas City in the game, but Pittsburgh. Yeah, but I did
like that they fleshed these characters outmore and gave like, like Kathleen had
a backstory and motivations, and they'renot just like bad guys for the sake
of being bad guys, right,Like we understood through environmental storytelling and flashback

(54:39):
and all that good stuff, likehow they got to this point, right,
how a traditionally like good person cango bad, right, which is
a theme of this entire series. It's basically like the it could be shades
of Gray the series, right,So I really like that. I thought

(55:02):
that that whole sequence, the timespent with Sam and Henry also folding back
on that also giving Henry more backstoryas well, and how those two things
were a point of tension between Kathleenand Henry. So that part I thought
that was a really great change.I really did. I really did like
that. Yeah, I agree.I do agree with all of that,

(55:25):
and like the answer that we gavefor the email earlier. Just the little
in between moments that they added.Yeah, I don't necessarily think of them
as changes, but they're additions andI think that they were just slotted in
perfectly. So Yeah, and anunfavorable change there, I'm not gonna lie.
There definitely have been a few throughoutthe journey, but I think my

(55:49):
biggest unfavorable change is the tendrils andthe no spores, and I that just
we've talked a lot a bit aboutthat, I don't think and my biggest
gripe when we did episode nine wasthey didn't they introduced all of this shit
and then never used it again. And the big argument from everyone like Neil
and Craig is just like, ohno, no, but don't worry in

(56:12):
season two, like it's all gonnabe just bombastic, And it's like,
well, why didn't you do thatin the first season? The show just
didn't have enough money. I wasfuck out of here. So yeah,
that's my issue. I think theyintroduced a lot of concepts that could be
super fucking cool if they did anythingwith them, but they were unnecessary,
then the story didn't need it,Okay. The one that I will say,

(56:37):
fully knowing that it would its removalor changing would have a ripple effect,
is the introduction of Jackson as awhole, okay into this story.
If you follow the thread through,Jackson is pivotal, and I just I

(56:57):
don't know if they could have wrotearound it, Like I thought that was
a much better I think like findingsanctuary as the final peace is great.
I see what you're saying. Soit's something to look forward to versus something
to look back at and think,oh, that kind of thing exactly.

(57:20):
So finding it earlier gives them alot of motivation as something to fight for,
something to return to, right hope, that's what it represents. In
that episode is also where we gotinformation about that. This is how Ellie
learns about Joel's daughter. This iswhere we learned that Joel is not doing
great physically or mentally. So wegot a lot of like very important story

(57:44):
beats delivered there, right that happenedat different just a completely different place or
not at all in the game oroff screen, right, or just we
don't really know how that information, how information was conveyed. So this is
a double edged sword for me becauseI do like how they approach I do
like some aspects of it, butI just wish that Jackson was saved for

(58:07):
that that hero shot as they crest, because up until we see something in
this world, like it's like,um, think about one piece of media
that's very close to this that werecently watched as like I am legend,
right, and in very mild spoilers, like another survivor shows up and I

(58:27):
am legend and they're like, oh, there's a there's a safe zone up
north, right, but we don'tYou don't know that, right, And
that's the same thing with like Jackson, like oh no, there's like a
there's like a sanctuary at Jackson andpeople could just people could just say those
things, but you don't know untilyou see it, right. I think
it's more rewarding when at the endthey get to the and you're you're like,

(58:51):
there it is, right, andthen we get to explore it next
season. Yeah, it's a smallthing overalls, Like yeah, but that's
kind of how I felt. Iwas like, no, I agree with
you there, And I never reallythought about it in those terms because I
don't think we even really discussed that, because again, we wanted to save
the whole seasonal thoughts for one episode, which we are still going to do

(59:15):
but we haven't done it yet.So I think that that's part of it,
what you're talking about. But italso brought like another great change it
brought to mind was the introduction ofAnna and Ellie's mom's you know what happened
with Ellie's mom and potentially how Ellieis immune, and you know that was

(59:36):
neat. I don't necessarily think it'sa great change, the introduction of the
possible immunity or the beginning of it, but then it reminds me of the
unfavorable thing again, where I justthink the pacing fell apart after episode five.
So it was solid, like itwas a solid fucking show for five
episodes, and then as soon aswe hit six, it just went insofar

(59:59):
as pacing, I just something happened, it fell apart. We talked about
it. I don't need to goback, but sure, yeah, those
are so Bill and Frank's episode, the introduction of Anna definitely strong. Yeah,
points that we hadn't seen before, but then you know, the introduction
of the tendrils, the you know, are we ever going to see this

(01:00:22):
again? The cold opens that neverhad an answer essentially, and the pacing.
So it's not a perfect show.I don't think it has to be
a perfect show, but yeah,it does certainly remind me of because a
person as a person, as peoplewho get recommended a lot of stuff.
I don't know, I can't speakfor you specifically, but like I get
people are always like, oh,you gotta watch you know, and I'm

(01:00:45):
like, you gotta watch X yZ. And I'm like, well,
you know, how is it Andthey're like, oh, it's good.
I'm like that's like that's not enough. It's gotta be like it legitimately has
to be great because there's like that'slike the bar that we're at now,
right, So yeah, you gotto be very selective with your time.
Like so if something's not I wouldI would categorize the Last of Us as

(01:01:05):
great. Like if it was good, I wouldn't care as much, you
know what I'm saying, Like I'dliterally just be like I agree, I
do agree, and I know Ijust said that I do different kinds of
things can be great. Yeah, that's all I'll say. Right, Like,
we watched a show and here's likejust a little, just a little
tiny recommendation from your old pals fromthe last cast. We watched a show
called Jury Duty, which you probablynever even heard. Maybe it says a

(01:01:29):
chance you've never even heard of theshow because it's on free V whatever the
hell that is, and that showslegitimately great, Like I had a blast
of that show. Is it thelast of us? It is not?
No, no, but I hadso much. And it's it's a reality
show, and we are not areality wat a TV. Andrew and I
have never in the sixteen and ahalf years that we've been together, have

(01:01:52):
never watched a reality show together.I don't until that one. Yeah,
so it doesn't it was scripted realitythough, so not right it would say
it was you'll love it. You'venever seen anything like it before, is
what I could say. So thatit also had a novelty to it that
was really really nice. Yeah, all that is to say, though I
would categorize the show overall as great. It is well worth your time to

(01:02:14):
you know, in a world wherewe have so many options to watch,
so many things that are often solong. Also, right, you're you're
not talking about like, oh,it's like a two hour movie, and
it's like no, no, no, this is like a nine to ten
hour series. It's a it's asubstantial chunk of your time. Sure,
it's it's even given that caveat,I think it's well worth. I think
it's well worth the time. Ido, absolutely, I agree. I

(01:02:37):
would never yeah, I would neverbe like, don't fucking I watch it.
No, I would never say that, just watch it, Just watch
the recamp on YouTube, just littlelast casts, which will actually take the
cut scene way more time to watchthe show, it really would. Just
listening to our podcast is probably doublethe length of the actual show. My
god. If you yeah, ifyou have listened to our podcast, if

(01:02:58):
you have watched the show and listento the podcast, you have tripled the
amount of time it takes to consumethe last How do you feel right now?
Right? Yeah? Good for them. I'm just telling I'm just saying
it how it is. That's allunless you're one of those unhinged people who
listens on one point five or twox speed, in which now, god,

(01:03:19):
no, can't do it when youhave a moment. Even right now
during this episode, this is wherewe go off the rails because we're about
to end it here. Put uson point five speed and listen to how
drunk we sound. It's hilarious.Yeah. When I say the word hilarious
one point five speed, it's nowit's going to sound even more. I'm
gonna do that to my own andDrew passed out. Yeah, I just

(01:03:44):
had one too many. So thisis our first email show. If you
guys are interested in this, wantto be a part of this, rite
us send them in. Our documentis ready for more entries, So let's
do this thing. Some contact informationand I'm going to throw it over to
Andrew to get some some reviews, ask for some reviews. But if you

(01:04:06):
would like to follow along on ourInstagram, which will have life breathed back
into it as this podcast is rightnow, you can do that at tlou
podcasts. Our twitter is tlou podcast. Go follow us over on YouTube at
tlou podcast. We also have wayfarirand Strangers. If you just search the
Internet for Wayfaring and Strangers, thelast of us podcasts, you will find

(01:04:29):
us everywhere. We have our BonfireMerch, which is this wonderful navy blue
sweatshirt the last cast, and it'ssuper fucking comfortable. I listen. I
know that people are like, yeah, Doc, like you know, you
just want us to buy shit.I mean yeah, but it is legitimately
comfortable. It's better than some ofthe sweatshirts I've bought that are like sixty

(01:04:53):
seventy dollars. So I highly recommend, and we will be getting some for
Andrew. Actually, and the shirtthat we ordered for our giveaway, which
has been packed in the box nowfor like a month and a half.
Shirt Hello yeah is oh it's likethat. It's like that thicker material,
it's solid. I'm very happy withBonfire Merch. So if you just go

(01:05:14):
over to bonfire dot com and putin tlou Podcasts or the last cast,
it'll take you where you need togo. Because every time I try to
recommend the link it's broken. Sowe also have a website tloupodcast dot Com.
Have to do some updating over onthat Wayfar in West. We'll have
an update over on Wayfaring Strangers whenwe drop that episode in the next week

(01:05:36):
or two. If you like tofollow me, you can do that at
Jaded Vader. If you'd like tofollow Andrew, you can do that at
Dark Driving Andrew take it away.Hey friends, it's Cheryl pal Andrew here
at the end of the show asalways imploring you to, you know,
take a moment of your day andjust give us a rating. We don't

(01:05:56):
ask for anything. We won't.I mean, who knows what the future
will bring. However, right now, we just want to create this great
content and in exchange, all weask, truly is maybe just like click
on the five star button. Right. You could do that in Apple podcasts.
You could do that in Spotify.I think you could probably do that
in Google whatever their thing is calledGoogle Podcasts to Amazon podcasts. Wherever you

(01:06:23):
listen, and if you're feeling especiallygenerous, go ahead and peck something out
on your keyboard just let us know, like, hey, I love this
part of you know, when theyargue, that's hilariously funny. I don't
really recall us ever arguing about anythingat all. When Andrew calls himself a
doctor or a physician, that's veryfunny. It's I mean, it's true,
but you know that's beside the pointanyway, It's not true. Pop

(01:06:43):
into Apple Podcasts. Write a review, we'll read it. Well, if
you do it after this episode, you'll hear it on the next email episode,
which would presumably be next week.So well, no, we have
many, many more emails to go, so it won't be the next email
episode. Maybe like three or fourfrom now. We have a lot three
or four. Yeah, yeah, the review would be any reviews that come

(01:07:08):
in would just be on the nextshow that we do, which is great,
the go ahead and do that, and uh, you know, at
the very least, you know, the five stars certainly helps us kind of
bubble up to the top. Thereare a lot of options for Last of
Us podcasts, none of none ofthem are probably as long as ours,
you'd say that much, and unnor nor nor potentially as in depth.

(01:07:30):
So that's it. That's all Igot. Thank you regardless, even just
for listening wherever you are in theworld. You're the best. You are
the best. Yes, yes,you are the best. And we'll be
back next week with another listener emailshow. Yeah. Get those emails in,
give us, give us more todo, get them emails. Yeah,
and we will see you. We'llsee you next week. So thank

(01:07:53):
you guys for being patient. Mygod, thank you guys for being patient
and just being awesome. We I'vesaid this all the time over on Wayfair
and Strangers, it carries over tohere. We have the best fucking listeners,
barn one, Hm and and Connie. I can't say this enough.

(01:08:13):
It's when I really get mad thatI go off else you know, I
get it, I get it.Yeah, all right, all right bye in
