(04:06):
to preview this game. We do welcome Sam so that
so welcome Sam, and good evening and tell us a
bit about yourself.

Speaker 7 (04:15):
Thanks for having me on boys, So I'm involved in
female rugby league. I've been involved fifteen years and believe
it or not, Stranger and I actually.

Speaker 8 (04:27):
Work together at the Roosters some time ago.

Speaker 7 (04:31):
He was believe it or not, my assistant coach for
a short period of time, but strangely a good fellow
that he is, smart coach, really good guy. Obviously you
send it into the RW role at the Roosters and
the rest is history. You run a couple of premierships
and now ended up the new South Wales origin coach. Actually,
I think it's a great appointment and well deserved from

(04:52):
Stranger to be in that role. But I'm currently at
the Dragon. So I've been around a couple of clubs.
Started off at the Bulldogs, coaching the Inauguralsaga Cup season there,
took the Dogs to a Grand Final in year one
twenty seventeen, and then transitioned across the Roosters where I
jumped on as an assistant coach at ERLW and I

(05:15):
stayed there until about I think twenty twenty one when
COVID hit so different roles, did a bit of recruitment
forum retention head coach Tasha gal LW and now I
met the Saint George Dragons. I've been there for a
couple of years. Yeah, so last year came on board
working with the St. George side of things, and then

(05:36):
coached the Taska Gaal Cup this year and now fortunate
enough Crossys brought me into across the o NLW coach
at the Dragons to work with our NRLW Transition squad
or head coach of the NROW Transition and Academy squad.
So that's my current role. So red and White to

(06:00):
be on board and I'm all ready, mate. You forget
about the right.

Speaker 4 (06:06):
And who's easy to coach? Men are women? Crossing who's
easier to coach men and women? Who's easy to coach?

Speaker 8 (06:18):
I definitely say the women. I think.

Speaker 7 (06:21):
Look, it's people always ask this question, what's the difference
coaching boys girls? And the biggest difference is boys probably
have big egos so that you know, you need to
sort of bust that ego quite a bit, and they
have a lot of bad habits. They come in, especially
at that junior rep level, trying to upskill them or

(06:41):
reskill them on you know, structure, systems, pathways, things that
the top coaches want, whereas girls are the opposite. Sometimes
they can be fantastic, have all the skill in the world,
all the talent, but the confidence is a bit low.
So they need an ego, they need an ego bus so,

(07:02):
but they definitely learn more, mate, They've packed their very tentative.
They you know, they really switched on and they'll learn
pretty quick and they'll implement what you want them to
listen much better than the boys.

Speaker 6 (07:16):
And I noticed and known as the wrestle hasn't come
into the women's game yet.

Speaker 7 (07:21):
But it's it's unbelievable that it hasn't, to be honest
with you, and I know some coaches have tried in
the rep systems. But that's why I love the women's
game so much, is it's still a pure form of football.
If you watch the women's footy, you think back to
the nineties maybe yeah, yeah, you know, and that's sort
of free flowing offloading off the cuspid footy.

Speaker 8 (07:42):
We're starting to see a bit more structure in it now,
but but overall you're right, mate, there's no wrestle to
play the balls difference.

Speaker 6 (07:49):
That's why I like it. I like it so much
as well. It's just basic football. We used to play
it you know, same football we used to play. It's
just the same. It's great.

Speaker 8 (07:59):
Yeah, it's unreal. It's a great product.

Speaker 7 (08:01):
And today the athletes were got in the game made,
they're unreal and the best showcase would be this game
coming up, the New South Wales Queensland Origin Games. There's
some unbelievable athletes. They're going to showcase some talent this week.

Speaker 8 (08:16):
So it's unreal.

Speaker 9 (08:19):
When did you start?

Speaker 10 (08:20):
Did you start playing yourself, mate and find the dragons?

Speaker 8 (08:26):
Well, I don't know if I should say no. I made.

Speaker 7 (08:30):
I was a chest Hill hornet junior in the can
in You League, so I played all my footy out there,
and then with the Bulldogs as.

Speaker 8 (08:40):
A kid as well.

Speaker 7 (08:40):
So I came through that system but made. Unfortunately I
had three knee reconstructions on the same knee by the
time I was nineteen or twenty, so.

Speaker 9 (08:51):
To play for some players, he obviously played some good
level there.

Speaker 10 (08:54):
Yeah.

Speaker 7 (08:54):
Look, it was a great era, mate when I was
coming through, Like we had in my age group, guys
like Sonny Bill uh N Miles yeah, Cameron Fields.

Speaker 8 (09:04):
Yeah, Jaredhicky. I played with h he and his brother
John Arthur.

Speaker 7 (09:09):
Yeah, so it made us a great talent mate, coming
through the Dogs, and then the older boys right above
us were guys like Maddie Utah and Royer Satasi, j T,
Willie Mason, you know, so they you know, the sides
just above us, we're all those boys.

Speaker 8 (09:26):
It was.

Speaker 7 (09:26):
It was a great time at that club in terms of,
you know, the talent coming through, but the Dragons in
the next couple of seasons, mate, we you know, we
can have a golden era as well.

Speaker 8 (09:39):
Obviously, actually Bullside won last year.

Speaker 7 (09:42):
You know, some good kids coming through our systems from
Bray Tila Wara and and the Dragon side of things
as well.

Speaker 5 (09:48):
Fantastic Now, Sam, there's been a lot of talk that
this is pretty much a lot of played. Half the
players that were playing in this Origin game haven't played
any football since the n W last year, and the
other half went to Vegas to play for the Jillarus.
What's your take on the timing of the Origin since
it's a few months away from the NLW season starting.

Speaker 7 (10:10):
Look, it's it's a bit strange for most people, I guess,
you know, for the general punner that looks at this
and goes, well, you know, they haven't played any club
footy how they're playing Origin at the moment. Unfortunately, given
the way that the system is with n LW, it's
a shortened season, as you boys would know, kicks off
in July and then runs through obviously until the end

(10:33):
of the men's final series, but until it's a full
time gig with twenty or so rounds, I think it'll
be hard to sort of play Origin, you know, mid season.

Speaker 8 (10:47):
It is the way it is now. It's designed the
way it is because most.

Speaker 7 (10:50):
Of the girls have jobs, they've got to work, they've
got to do other things before they get into n
RLW camp, and so the way it is at the
moment is that the Origin actually comes before Club Footy.
The difficulty there is, yeah, you know a lot of
these picks and I'm sure we're going to go through
the picks now, but you look at some of the
picks on both sides.

Speaker 8 (11:10):
There a lot of it is.

Speaker 7 (11:11):
Probably on form from last year or last year's in LW,
and you don't know how they're going to go this
season because it hasn't kicked off yet, you know whether
or not there in form and I know with the boys,
you know, a lot of the talk is about picking
form players you know, you still pick someone like a
Nathan Cleary.

Speaker 8 (11:28):
Because of what he's achieved.

Speaker 7 (11:30):
But for example, you know, you and then Isaao, but
you're probably not going to see six or seven Penis
boys in the in the boys side this season, whereas
with the girls it's you know, there's probably I think
six or seven roosters girls across both sides.

Speaker 10 (11:44):
They say when they have to do a lot of
personal training in themselves, mate, not in preparation for Origin,
because there's no.

Speaker 7 (11:54):
Yeah, so look, a lot of the girls not just
so I know, there's been camps, specially Victor Origin as well.
So strangers have the girls out of Homebush a few
times in the lead up, but generally with the girls
as a general rule, mate at the moment, because there
is a big gap between off season or it's a
big off season between you know, October and kickoff, so

(12:17):
a lot of the girls actually do their own training,
strength and conditioning, fitness type stuff.

Speaker 8 (12:23):
You know, they are allowed to get together, you know.

Speaker 7 (12:26):
Once sort of a month in the lead up to
an LW, but the bulk of it is done individually.
And that's why and that's why it's a lot of
these girls make their amazing athletes because their their mindset
and their mentality to go out and maintain that level
of fitness and strength throughout the season.

Speaker 8 (12:44):
It's phenomenal off season.

Speaker 5 (12:46):
Sorry, okay, now, Sam, give us your take on how
the two teams line up for debutransta in both sides,
but to some key players out of both sides. No
Shannon Mato or Millie Elliott, they're both out you to
our pregnancy, but still some formidable looking side for both states.

Speaker 7 (13:06):
Yeah, I think we got Queens up there, so we'll
start with that one.

Speaker 8 (13:11):
I think the key for Queensland in this game is
their spine. They've they've and we'll talk about New South.

Speaker 7 (13:17):
I was in a sec but you know, with Tamika Upton,
Taron Aikan, Ali briggan Shaw, and Lauren Brown at nine,
that's a formidable spine right there.

Speaker 8 (13:28):
A lot of experience, a lot.

Speaker 7 (13:30):
Of talent, and you know, there's there's always talk about
players and whether or not you know they're past it
and things like that. But I think Ali Brigginshaw mate,
she's she's just a big time player and she shows
up where it counts, you know. And I've seen some
comments on social media and things like that.

Speaker 8 (13:46):
But I think Ali will do a fantastic job for him.

Speaker 7 (13:49):
But I really like Killy Joseph in the eight as well.
Starting there lot She's he's just phenomenal. She's a workhorse,
you know, and she she brings a lot to that,
so it's well a lot of energy, but overall main
destiny bal.

Speaker 8 (14:04):
At thirteen, I think you know that's that's.

Speaker 4 (14:07):
A pretty good, pretty good, a good move. Yes, I
think you can. You can also add a lot to
your spine nowadays.

Speaker 6 (14:14):
Because they play so much of a linking role in
the game anyway, So I think third as part of
a spoiling too nowadays. So I agree brilliant, She'll be
brilliant there. I'm a coeens lator. By the way, if
you didn't know we're going, she'd be brilliant there.

Speaker 7 (14:29):
Well, I think you've just given something away and I
was going to sort of touch on that. But I
think having Destiny at thirteen, I think the style of
footy we're probably going to see from coins ends, we're
going to see a lot of shifts, particularly through the
middle because she can ball play Killy as well at
eight she's a cheecken ball play I know that because

(14:50):
I coached Keilly for a few seasons of her at
the Roosters, but she she's got great hands. Destiny's got
great hands as well, so I expect to see from
Coins and a bit of a bit of moving through
the middle, just on no selections. Now, I don't know,
I haven't spoken the tiny but I think overall it
is a pretty strong side. They're obviously coming coming into

(15:11):
this game on the back of a win last season
or last in last year's campaign. But a big loss
for them is actually Mate their assistant coach who's now
our nlwch in Crossing. So now yeah Gi so and
I think Gi is headed over to the West Tigers

(15:32):
as an NLW assistant for this season. So yeah, so
that that's a bit of a bit of a question mark.
I don't know, but cross he is a very smart
fellow and I'm sure they've had a lot to do
with some of the tactical stuff that went on in
the Queensland campaigns with the last couple of seasons.

Speaker 8 (15:50):
So it's a good strong side, I think, even without.

Speaker 7 (15:57):
Even without some some of those losses, I think the
Benchi strong, you know, to leave players like Leonardos out
and you know, it just shows you that there's some
real strong depth and strength in that coin zampact.

Speaker 5 (16:13):
Yeah, moving on, and there's there's four debutants there. We
saw Rorione come onto the scene in the General W
last year, Jada Ferkson had a good year with the Broncos,
To Barapapali was part of the roots premiership team and
Jasmine Peters has been around for a while too. So
what do you think those debutants will bring.

Speaker 7 (16:33):
Yeah, look, I think Jasmine probably Yeah, it's long maybe
long overdue. It's it's hard sometimes to get into a
side than it is to get out, you know, in
the women's and men's game.

Speaker 8 (16:46):
But yeah, that's that's a good selection. Yeah, I think
that will go pretty well.

Speaker 7 (16:53):
I think Jada Jada had some a great season last
last year and the you know W, so again you
know that selection is probably warranted as well. But look,
I think I think they're in that side there there's
a lot of experience. So for a player coming in
on debut, I think there's some protection, especially around those

(17:17):
key positions and where they play. So I expect it
they'll don't show up and I'll do a good job
for Queens yep.

Speaker 5 (17:26):
Now we'll have a look into the new South Wales team.
An interesting side here, Happy urchful all debut at the back.
Now Jamie Chapman's just come back from a spine fracture,
so that's a that's a big injury to overcome. But
she said she will lit up Sun Corps stating with
that amazing solo tried last year. An interesting selection. She

(17:49):
had a pane normally a sena or a winger named
at five eighth. I know she did play one game
for the Jillarus in that Pacific Championships at five eighth.
Interesting there, especially when they've got cured. Dip on extend
about who is a specialist by what's your take on
that move?

Speaker 7 (18:04):
Yeah, look, I look again, strangely strange. He is a
great fellow made him is a very very very good coach.
He's a very clever coach and I'm sure he's got
a plan. But looking from the outside, inmate, you know
you're taking the player who was I think top or
equal top tri scorer last season in the NRW at

(18:26):
center and I think had maybe second equal or second
in line breaks again playing at center, and Tim Panatani
and then you know putting you in at six in
a big game like Origin. Yeah, I don't know, to
be honest with ya, Loock, I love New South Wales,

(18:46):
I love Stranger to death, but I've got a big
question mark probably like every other fan on that selection
at six. I just think personally, and I get you've
got Isabelle Kelly there and Jess Surgis.

Speaker 8 (18:58):
How do you squeeze at three or four. You've got
to find a spot for her somewhere.

Speaker 7 (19:04):
But you know she can play wing as well. Yeah, look,
I think the kicking game here as well when you
look at if you go back to Queensland, so Tiana
and Jesse. He puts Jesse under a lot of pressure
because she's she's probably going to become your dominant kicker
in the game, right, whereas you've got Ali Brigginshaw Taron
Aiken over on the other side that both can are

(19:26):
pretty handy with the bid and even Julia sorry even.

Speaker 8 (19:31):
I've got a mental blank now Lauren Brown sorry at
dummy half.

Speaker 7 (19:38):
Sheha can kick as well, so he you know, puts
a lot of pressure on on Jesse, I think. And
then it's a new combination as well. It's raw and
the spine. Here is the question mark for New South
pars Abby great player. I was fortunate enough to work
with Abby at the Bulldogs. She's a phenomenal athlete, phenomenal talent,

(19:58):
great person. I think she'll go well at fullback. But
you know, I look at that side as well, and
I think to myself, Eddie not picked Teag and Berry
somewhere in that side, you know, like it's especially when
there's a question mark of Jamie. So yeah, and I
think the other question mark here is and I love

(20:20):
I love them to death. I love Mimes and I
love Kez again with great, great people, but some sort
of old legs in that forward pack as well. But
in saying that, both Mimes and Kesey, you know, they're
phenomenal athletes, phenomenal competitors.

Speaker 8 (20:38):
They'll show up no matter what.

Speaker 7 (20:41):
But I just don't know how they'll go against a
bit of a younger, more agile Queensland pack as well.
So you know, I think Ellie. Ellie's a good addition
into that pack as well. At ten you still got
you know, Yasmin and Olivia Kernihue for me is probably
the best background were in the world. Playing at Locke

(21:02):
but I think that the other surprise to me and
the side is live Higgins. It's not in yet, not
in the seventeen.

Speaker 8 (21:10):
You know.

Speaker 7 (21:10):
I just think she's she's a great, great player as well.
She could add into that side. But in saying that,
you know, Sarah Tokataki, you know, to two backs, I
think both sides have gone with two backs on the bench.

Speaker 8 (21:24):
I don't I don't know. Yeah, I don't know how
that's going to work.

Speaker 7 (21:32):
To be honest with you, I think there's been some
injuries in the last couple of seasons in the in
the in the back lines for both sides. But yeah,
you know, you got more agile, quicker players there. So
I'm expecting a bit of a bit of ball movement,
a bit of a fast game.

Speaker 5 (21:48):
Yeah, there's there's a bit of rain predicted for this game.
Do you think it'll and Queensland seem to handle the
under wet weather better in Newcastle in Townville last year?
Where do you think this game will be one last?
Looking at these two sides.

Speaker 7 (22:04):
I think I think the keys you know, and you
hear this a lot in rugular league, but I think
it's it's going to come back down to that spawn
their game management, particularly if the conditions change around the
whether you've got again two halves in Tianna and Jesse
who were playing together, I think for the first time
up against a well experienced combination, you know, in Tarran

(22:28):
and Ali. And I think the ability to control the game,
whether they need to keep the game in the middle
or shift to the edges, or just manage whatever the
structures are or shapes that are given to them on
the day. I just think Queensland have the edge at
the moment, and I think the forward pack as well.

(22:49):
Looking at at the queens Land side, I think they
probably just thend thoses in front.

Speaker 5 (22:56):
Yep. And if you had to pick a winner, who
would have been? Do you think New so fALS go
two for two at sun Call and you think how
how real do you think it will be to open
Magic Round at SUNCRP Stadium in front of a bumper
crowd hopefully.

Speaker 7 (23:11):
You know, I think it's this is absolutely going to
be exciting for the players involved, all the girls out there.
You know, obviously Vegas would have been massive, but this
is the home of you know, whether you know where
New Sa or we got one one two head o
or one Queensland. Look, yeah, this is the home of origin,

(23:35):
whether we like it or not, in New South Wales
Queensland sun Corps Stadium.

Speaker 8 (23:39):
There's nothing bigger, nothing better.

Speaker 7 (23:41):
I just think it's going to be explosive, the atmosphere,
it would be amazing for the girls. But in saying that,
everybody knows Queensland is hard enough to be let alone
at sun Corp Stadium.

Speaker 8 (23:55):
So look, I think Queensland.

Speaker 7 (23:58):
My head says Queensland, my heart says New South I
was but on tipping queens End and I'm actually tipping
Keeley Joseph for players the match as well.

Speaker 8 (24:07):
I just think you have a big, big game, mate.

Speaker 7 (24:09):
She just got engaged a couple of days ago, so
I think she'll be she'll be well well up for
this game mate.

Speaker 5 (24:17):
Yep, thanks for you for your insight to that. So yes,
it should be a gripping game. And yeah, and two
weeks later we will be game It'll be game one
again when when Game two heads to ali Unstadium at
Sydney on Thursday May fifteen. So yeah, this will this
will be the key. It doesn't always mean if you
win Game one, that's not all the be on and

(24:38):
all the women's as we saw last year, so was
one game one at SUNCRP and New Queensland won the
next two, So who knows what. I'm looking forward to
this origin series and it will give us an insight
of how the NRLW will shape up later this year
as well. Sam.

Speaker 7 (24:53):
And the beauty of this is, you know, we've only
just moved to a three game series, so you spot
on Jesse, the history has been riding as we as
we see it, you know, like it's not like the
men's at all, where you know you can definitely say
you win game one, you know you're an eighty percent
chance of winning the series. Yeah, because because we just
don't have that many three game series under our belt yet.

Speaker 8 (25:16):
So it makes you be gripping. You know, if you
don't watch Women's wood, you make sure you watch this one.

Speaker 5 (25:22):
Yeap my mind, I'm going to go New South files
and a tight one. I think they can if they
can stay in the contest and and really really really
match it with the Queensland Fords. And maybe it's a
bit of maybe some individual billings from from one of
the backs. I'd love to see Jamie Chapman score a

(25:43):
trial like she did last week. That was an amazing
tryst she scored. I'm going to go I'm going to
go the Blues by two points and I'm going to
go yeah, and I'm going to go Olivia Kurt to
be a try score at any point of the game
as well, but I'm to go to Blues by two.
It's going to be a very top I think.

Speaker 4 (26:05):
Queen's one.

Speaker 5 (26:07):
There you go, who's kicking the field? Got big team?

Speaker 4 (26:10):
I don't care. They got to win by one.

Speaker 7 (26:14):
I think in the game made the only player that
I know that's kick the field going origins Lauren Brown,
you're number nine.

Speaker 5 (26:21):
Yep.

Speaker 4 (26:23):
I can do it. Anyone can do it. I can
do it.

Speaker 10 (26:26):
I'm going to get in New South Wales. I'm gonna
be an optimist. I'm going to go jess So just
to score a try and I got to go for
New South Wales. I went to school there and do
any housing, so there's no way I can follow Queensland. Sorry,
big ta.

Speaker 9 (26:42):
New South Wales all the way mate.

Speaker 10 (26:43):
And can I just send a slide note good luck
with the girls and say good you're on tonight, Sam.

Speaker 9 (26:48):
And if you do a mountain Cira run you know
the big Mountain.

Speaker 10 (26:52):
If garthe comes and does it, can you just make
him start a k back from the girls.

Speaker 4 (26:55):
Give him a chance the week.

Speaker 8 (26:59):
Mate. If the flashes up against him off put money
on the flash.

Speaker 5 (27:03):
Yeah, okay, do you want to have a say on
the game? Will you have any questions for Sam?

Speaker 1 (27:09):
No?

Speaker 2 (27:09):
But hello Sam, nice to meet you here. You go, Okay,
I'm great, I'm great. I would just say go New
South Wales and back Queensland. I'm gonna be very nice.
That's okay, yep, yep, because apparently in Queensland in West
Australia as well, so and anyway I would like Now,

(27:34):
I would like New South Wales to win by four.
But I'm trying to say who would be great? Maybe
I would like to go number six? Yeah Batani, Yeah,
go Hurt. Yeah, that's who I'm going to go for.
And good girls. You know, it's a shame. I don't
know why the girls are on now because they haven't played,
but it would be mad to see them play before

(27:55):
the boys. You know, it would because I love the
girls and they're coming, they're developing more and the way
they tackle. You know, if I was in the team,
I think I'd be stretched off in a second. Good
on the girls, and I'm so proud to see the
women now how they are playing, And yeah, I'm a
big advocate for the women's football.

Speaker 8 (28:19):
Awesome.

Speaker 7 (28:20):
Well, I think it's a matter of time, Coco, before
we see yeah, and hopefully in the next within the
next five years, we see that, you know, where we
have either a proper standalone series or the girls play
before the boys.

Speaker 8 (28:33):
That to be unreal.

Speaker 2 (28:34):
Yeah, it would be, It would be good. But also
maybe like if they're going to come in through the boys,
have it, like if they don't, like like New South
World Cup, have the women's before the men, so then
at least there's like a bit of a crowd. I
feel sorry sometimes then there's no crowd for the girls
because I love seeing the girls play and the atmosphere

(28:55):
with the teams, it's great.

Speaker 7 (28:59):
I don't want to I don't want to hold this
podcast up because I know you've got a lot to
get through. But I'll just say something on that point, Coco. Look,
I've been an advocate of like a magic round every
week almost for the women's I think if you if
you have all the n LW games, that's say Newcastle
and then one week at Brisbane, one week at all
on something like that and have all all games there

(29:20):
on the day. I just think you'll get bigger crowds.
It to be a bit more of a bit more
of an atmosphere, you know. But you know, I don't
run the NRL.

Speaker 10 (29:29):
Unfortunately, say something tongue in cheek to your mate. There's
a player I love. She's not playing the obvious reasons,
Millie Boyle. I'm sure you would have been involved with her.
I wish running up like Millie does, but she's playing.

Speaker 8 (29:46):
Wow, mate, she's sees real.

Speaker 4 (29:48):
Look it's really Elliott.

Speaker 7 (29:50):
Yes, I know I know her husband pretty well, Adams.
He's a strong fellow. But I'll tell you what I reckon.
I reckon MILLI will put him on.

Speaker 1 (30:00):
As he.

Speaker 11 (30:04):
Has.

Speaker 7 (30:04):
But yeah, I think, mate, she's unreal really really is
a phenomenal, phenomenal athlete, like she's her frame if no
one's ever seen her in person, She's just an incredible athlete,
like very unreal, very.

Speaker 9 (30:17):
You see the boys, the males and change room.

Speaker 4 (30:21):
She's sized incredible mate.

Speaker 7 (30:24):
And what's what's even better about her and a lot
of these girls that we spoke about tonight. They're just
great human beings, even better people, you know, and that's
you know, sometimes you don't get that with the boys.

Speaker 8 (30:34):
You know, we see a lot of stuff obviously in
the media boys.

Speaker 7 (30:37):
But mate, she's a phenomenal person, as are you know,
as I said, most of the girls in the l W.

Speaker 10 (30:47):
Jesse, you get a tip off see him for Dragons
versus Tiers at least.

Speaker 5 (30:51):
Yeah, we'll go for a team if you If you
want to chuck in a tip for the Dragons and Tigers.

Speaker 7 (30:54):
Came, yeah, I've got I don't want to jinx it.
I actually I think the Dragons might get this fun.
I think it's a must win, you know. I know
it's only around eight or whatever it is, but this
is the game that you've got to win.

Speaker 8 (31:09):
If you want to make the top eight, you've got it.
You've got to knock out.

Speaker 7 (31:12):
You know that that existential that other top eight threat
and targets are that side this year. And I think
the Dragons will be up for it, and I think
they can do it.

Speaker 9 (31:24):
Jesse is going to kill you. You're only going to
still play five A will play half back?

Speaker 5 (31:28):
Mate, Well we'll see. I have to wait and see.

Speaker 4 (31:31):
How that was because he does it you.

Speaker 10 (31:38):
Had an idea well, uh king telling you will play
five well half back in the game.

Speaker 4 (31:48):
We lost him.

Speaker 7 (31:50):
I don't know, to be honest, I have nothing to
do with the like I have nothing to do with
the boys out there. I don't have any any info
on that, to be honest with Yeah, but it's a
good question.

Speaker 8 (32:04):
May Jesse gets all the good goss not me?

Speaker 5 (32:08):
All right, Well, thanks for joining us tonight, Sam, And yeah,
it should be a good game Thursday night as well.
And I've seen that documentary that's going to be on
tomorrow night on nine. I'm looking forward to seeing that one,
just how the women's game has evolved year by year,
and it's going to be be looking forward to watching
that one as well. I don't know if you've come
across that, but there's a documentary on the evolution of

(32:29):
the game tomorrow night.

Speaker 8 (32:31):
I'll yeah, I be looking forward to that one.

Speaker 7 (32:33):
And then maybe next time I'm I give you my
fifteen years of evolution in the game of how where
it's come from to where it is today, from Park
Footy to n RW in origin.

Speaker 12 (32:44):
So yeah, all right, well thanks coming on, thank you,
Thanks all right, all right, so.

Speaker 5 (33:00):
Now we'll get into the get into the rest of
the show where we we will discuss our game against
the Tigers on Saturday night and I'll throw over to
you Rob take us through how the Dragons are lined up.
It's a different looking side that Flannos down this afternoon.

Speaker 4 (33:16):
Correct, mate.

Speaker 10 (33:16):
Definitely a couple of changes so magic ground against the Tigers.
We've got Clint dovestan co captain lying up, a fullback,
Terrell Slane on one wing in the Senes Moses Sourley
and Valentine Homes and then we have Corey Allen Jess
coming into the team on the wing. Obviously good stop
place save origin for the Queensland Yeah, absolutely absolutely captain

(33:40):
of the New Sootholds Cup team as well too.

Speaker 9 (33:43):
We have well captain and Katie as well. We have
Carle Flanaghan lining up at five eight and we have
a new halfback I like in Kingtonia, so very interesting
prop Tavy Couchman, hooker, Damien Cook, prop David Klamer, second

(34:04):
row Dylan Egan and Jaydon Sewer and locking the scrun
we have Hamy Stewart and in our reserves on a
bench sorry, we have Jacob Little at fourteen, Jacob Bell
on fifteen, Emry Gooler's still on the team at sixteen,
and Looch at seventeen and the big Man Loco eighteenth

(34:27):
man who I thought was a bit stiff, maybe not
to get around, maybe on.

Speaker 4 (34:31):
The bench, you know what I mean, Jess, but he's
got to be closer.

Speaker 10 (34:34):
And obviously then we have the reserves, and we've got
a few injuries as well too, as everybody knows.

Speaker 9 (34:39):
So surprise, surprise, a couple of changes there.

Speaker 5 (34:44):
Yep, yeah, well we did, we did. We were going
to have a special guest, thank you for that, rob
By the way, we were a feral guests, but due
to some technical difficulties on his end and we were
faced to have Balmain Tigers Legend and ill Or a
local Gary Jack would have been good to have him
on again, but he had some trouble logging into the system.

(35:05):
So unfortunately, we're just gonna have to continue the show.
As once said, the show must go on, so you
have to raging my questions as.

Speaker 12 (35:17):
Usual, and we'll get into this look at rom Come.

Speaker 4 (35:22):
With me as we go behind enemy.

Speaker 6 (35:26):
Lines and dragons fans on BT and this is behind

(36:06):
him lines around nine, twenty twenty five.

Speaker 4 (36:10):
All right, magic round, That's right everyone. Everyone's up at
sun Corpse Stadium. Hopefully we have a win. I just
came through the team during Broa Senior Taruva, Adam, Dewey,
Start to Tower Bretten, Maiden of the back five for
the Tigers. Gavin's back for his second game. It is

(36:33):
uh and Luai half of five eight make Cars and
Pollai on the front row, Sat Sam, Sam Fin Now,
Adam Start and Alex Toilet back of Scrum the Silver Hunt,
our own Jack Bird and Ciani Phoen for now Fin
Now Fain, Fain, Tomesucker, Mason, Lily and Hope.

Speaker 6 (37:03):
But that could be Hope if we could yea, Hope
could be po. We were gonna have Jimmy Jack, but
unfortunately he can't make it. I was gonna ask him
about his time at Southing and the unfortunate predicament they're
over there, they've got no money and looks like they're

(37:24):
going to be kicked.

Speaker 4 (37:24):
Out of the English Super League. I was also gonna
also gonna ask him wonder he thought about Galvin and
how much does he think Galvin's worth? But yeah, I
don't know what he would have said about that.

Speaker 6 (37:39):
Last last five rounds like one lost, one loss, one loss, sorry.

Speaker 4 (37:44):
Win loss and they do for a loss. But yeah,
but he's not needed to answer that question. Know what
they need to change? You are right, all right?

Speaker 6 (38:03):
What are the Tigers need to do to change the
inconsistent inconsistency of the last five games?

Speaker 4 (38:08):
They'd be win win lost, win loss? So what do
they need to do?

Speaker 5 (38:13):
Who's that to me?

Speaker 8 (38:14):
Or?

Speaker 1 (38:14):
Yes?

Speaker 5 (38:17):
Well, they look good against that in that game against
the Shark, probably the best game I've seen all season,
to be honest. Their defense was really good. They really
stood up in the Shark's face. If they can replicate
that against the Dragons, that dragons will be in for
a hard night because the Tigers they look they no
longer look like the pushovers the competition. There, they are

(38:39):
looking very good. That wasn't a That was not a
single Do not get me started on.

Speaker 10 (38:48):
No, I know, but I mean they were down to twelve,
you know, for ten minutes, So what a fantastic that is?

Speaker 4 (38:57):
Yeah, you lost ten minutes six so I hung in there. Yeah,
it's a very good effort.

Speaker 5 (39:06):
Yeah right, big teach.

Speaker 6 (39:08):
More questions there, more questions, more questions, I've one more
written down here. Both both the Broncos and the Eels
ran their attack towards Galvin very high work rate. Do
you think opposing teams have now seeing Galvin as a

(39:30):
as a defensive defensive weakness and what can the Tigers
do to combat that situation?

Speaker 10 (39:38):
Rob, Yeah, I mean he's a tall guy, right, I
don't think he weighs that much, So I think our
position seems a little bit of a target that way
more obviously a brilliant taking player, So yeah, I don't
know where the slide. They'll slide more to cover for him,
you know, in defense. But mate, I don't know what

(39:59):
you mean. Just watching last game, I don't know whether
he's that week a weakness, like if we're talking about
a winger, our wide or something like that, if you
know what I mean. So, I think the tires are
that much improved this year that we've got so many
players that can step up and tell the for Galvin
if he's a little bit weaker in that in that area, Mate.

Speaker 5 (40:23):
He just brings that energy. He's got a great combination
with Leuye and I just saw that clicks instantly against
the Sharks last last Sunday, and they did miss that
the week before when they went down to Paramatta.

Speaker 4 (40:37):
Yeah, I don't understand.

Speaker 8 (40:39):
Well.

Speaker 6 (40:39):
The last last question I had for Jimmy Jack was
run means and post contact meders. The Tigers have only
twice won the one the run means in the post
contact means and that was again to Dolphins in the
nights and they won both those games. How important do
you think those stats are so winn go to Rugby League.

Speaker 5 (41:01):
Yes, our huge important. The Tiger's probably one of the
most underrated packs in the game. Terrell May has been
a great buy from the from the Roosters. He leads
from the front, averaging most two hundred meters a game.
I don't I still can't work out why the Roosters
they didhim go and then have been a good puisition

(41:21):
to the front row as well. He played most at
thirteen most of last year. But he's reformed the great
front row rotation there with Terrell May and as well
as the likes of I Voice Hunt and only off
the bench. So yeah, when when you're gonna play like
that just that many meters on every game. Uh, he

(41:43):
just gets through his yardage and it's great to have
a play him to get forward and he's very much
with the conversation for New South Wal's origin call up
Terrell May.

Speaker 10 (41:53):
I also think it's momentum and impact as well too,
and how fast they run up the ball and Terrell
May and so these other Fords for the Tigers, and
we saw at the Roosters Spencer Ling you, I mean,
no offense for our Fords, but clemor And and Gooler
and maybe Blake Laurie did a little bit of a
lesser degree. They're just plotters, don't don't. I mean me

(42:15):
is obviously important. But by the way, some of these
forwards that we play and in the opposition this week,
they run it up pretty much, full impact, full speed ahead.
So yeah, so momentum with those meets is important as
well an impact the way you run it up I
think as well. So yeah, we need to we need

(42:36):
to be better obviously our Fords this this weekend.

Speaker 4 (42:40):
We need more met.

Speaker 5 (42:43):
It is the Tigers. So is that who do we
have to shut down for the Tigers to beat them?

Speaker 4 (42:50):
Loui Louis. The other two players are Tigers and Buller.

Speaker 2 (42:55):
I think Buller De Louis Ladies, yes, sorry, do we sorry. Well,
if you watched the game last week, they were their side.
It was speed that won them and their determination, and

(43:16):
that's what they're going to come in again this week.
And you know what, that that young punk they're gonna
call him punk now because he's the opposition. Galvin will
prove a point. And you know what, I you know what,
I hope it does go somewhere good to prove. I
hope it goes to a Melbourne Storm or a Roosters
or Bronco, somewhere where he can thrive. Because he's young,
and I remember when Benji was young and Sonny Bill

(43:40):
Williams was young and they wanted to go to other places.
You know, he's still young and he would and so
I wish him all the best.

Speaker 4 (43:47):
But this week, how much money would you give him?

Speaker 11 (43:52):
Go?

Speaker 10 (43:52):
Go?

Speaker 2 (43:53):
Oh, he's nineteen though, you never know these days with
these the young ones.

Speaker 5 (44:00):
It was with six million dollar deal.

Speaker 4 (44:06):
The price No, maybe that Galvin who cares.

Speaker 2 (44:10):
Yeah, eight hundreds. I don't know where much of his
these days, they think hard question. Maybe eight hundred thousand.
Maybe maybe he can earn it back, you know, he
can earn it. Nineteen that's pretty good for a nineteen
year old eight hundred thousand dollars.

Speaker 5 (44:25):
Richard is happy a chance for an origin recall. On
his form, he looks like he is at the moment
he's playing.

Speaker 13 (44:35):
Well, I don't mind happy, yeah, good, all right, big tea,
all right?

Speaker 4 (44:46):
Is that time? Is it?

Speaker 5 (44:47):
It's that time?

Speaker 4 (44:48):
It's that time.

Speaker 5 (44:49):
Let's do you get some flashback photos today? Any any
fourbacks of a flashback?

Speaker 4 (44:56):
I might have one. I might have one.

Speaker 6 (44:59):
But let's just have a look at this. Come with
me and take a walk down on memory lane. Watch
you Lessons and lot hp ham and body, small bats, candlemakers,
absolutely fantastic. Check them out on Facebook.

Speaker 4 (45:14):
Polease. We're going back to Sunday June twentieth, twenty, two
thousand and four. Ok. Do you believe Dragons versus Tigers
Round fifteen Crown sixteen, nine hundred and fifteen.

Speaker 6 (45:27):
Referee mister Bean Short Hampstead played forty six times. Dragons
have won twenty five, Tigers have won twenty one. Dragons
have scored one thousand and fifty two points. Tigers have
scored eight hundred and seventy four. We're run through the side.

(45:47):
Ben Hormy at the back. John Carlos, Marc Gasney and
Matt Cooper Uguly our best center combination of the twenty
sixth series.

Speaker 4 (45:57):
We've been in the regularly in the in the NRL,
Richter Simmons on the other one wing, Barrett and Head
in the halves, Brent Kaite, Piggy Riddell and Jason Ryles
up front.

Speaker 6 (46:10):
Tony Jensen he played third eight games for the Dragons.
I don't remember Tony Jensen unfortunately, but he must have been.
He scored one try, so there you go. He was
a good player. Lance Thompson, r.

Speaker 4 (46:23):
Young Man he went too early, and Dane Young at
the back of the scrub. Nathan Brown was the coach
on the bench, Ashton Simms, Justin Paul benkra and Lincoln Withers.
Where are we nacoln Withers.

Speaker 6 (46:41):
He played for the Dragons and the Tigers two thousand
and four with the Dragons, won two thousand and one
two thousand and three, twenty five games for the Dragons,
forty six games for the Tigers. He also played for
Canberra one hundred and fifty six NRL games. He went
to England and played one hundred and thirteen in the
Super League games. With the Crusaders and Halkinston Rovers. That's

(47:07):
two hundred and sixty seven games for the young man
I reckon. That's a great effort. One hundred and fifty
six games in the area. One game in there was
a great in their managers, business manager at shape and
site management.

Speaker 4 (47:22):
That one can go. Come on. Tiger's now Tigers coached
by Tim Sheens, Brett Hodgson at the back, Tom Moody
and Pat Richards on the wings, Dan hand it's out
and pardon Jason Moody, Oh sorry, Jason Moody, there you go.
And Shane Elford in the centers, John Wilson and Scott

(47:44):
prince half and five O Todd Payton North North Queensland
coach now Darren Center and John scan Dallas up front,
Chris Hrnton, Chris fix Times in the background, Anthony and Franchi,
Nick Graham boxt locks the scrum. Robbie Mees brought to
Harrison and Bruce Gibbs and Michael But on the bench.

Speaker 5 (48:07):
He's a sister too big team.

Speaker 4 (48:09):
Who he is, That's what he is. He's running on
the field and Scott prince.

Speaker 5 (48:14):
Win's he coach now broncas n W.

Speaker 6 (48:19):
There's a few coaches from back then in the here,
isn't there Paramatta Barretton Hamby, Right, yeah, Dan Young, there's
a lot of coaches in that in that competition there. Yeah, Well,
I couldn't find any highlights, any match reports, say I.

(48:40):
My information comes from our Rugby League project. Now, Gay's
got four for gas. Gas has scored guests scored twenty
one tries against the Tigers. That's the most he's scored
against any club, scoring eighty four points.

Speaker 4 (48:59):
So jo you Mark Ben Ben, Greg Ben Cray.

Speaker 6 (49:04):
Scoredmone Big Benny Craig, Matt got over the stripe, Ashton
Skims scored the Troy Piggy got over.

Speaker 4 (49:15):
He was a great player for us. I do Young
over four pointers. Many Head kicked seven from nine from
the boot halftime twenty two nil to the Dragons.

Speaker 6 (49:28):
Full time fifty nil to the Dragons. That's our biggest
win over the Tigers since this has been this has
been a big Tea presentation.

Speaker 9 (49:39):
Let's scare the little key speak to you.

Speaker 4 (49:41):
Right, Yeah, that's a pretty good one out of that one.

Speaker 14 (49:44):
There's a few.

Speaker 4 (49:44):
There's a few new on There's a few new ones
coming over the next few weeks on, brought to you
by the Mad Dragon Podcast.

Speaker 6 (49:52):
Essence and Light Actual If you haven't born of the
small batch candle and soap makers, they do the local markets.

Speaker 4 (49:59):
They're working on website. Hopefully that will come soon. Thanks
for being my friend. Questionable decisions, but thanks for being
my friend. As I say, yes, the rest is history,
but there's much much more to be made. And you
did ask me, did I have a little of big tea?
And there's a little of big tea. I've actually got

(50:21):
one of rob sagoon and but I haven't brought that
up yet. And white.

Speaker 6 (50:28):
That's been actually come off with the computer and the
computer because you can see all the grainy you got
taken off a computer and the computer colored it for me.

Speaker 5 (50:36):
So it's not very little tea. It's baby tea.

Speaker 4 (50:42):
Seventy that one is.

Speaker 11 (50:45):
All right.

Speaker 6 (50:45):
Thanks thanks for joining me on the Mad Dragon Podcast.
I walk down memory Lane and behind enemy lines. I
love yours old Dragons for life. Back to you, Jess yep,
thank you for that.

Speaker 5 (50:56):
Big tas always a pleasure going through that as you
was looking that sorry back in the past, and some
some great performances between the Dragons and the Tigers over
the years, and that was another one of them. Actually
one of the few times we actually have scored fifty
points against some last.

Speaker 4 (51:15):
Got some I've got some fifty pointers coming up.

Speaker 5 (51:18):
So and the most recent, most recent game against the
Tigers was actually a fifty point game last year all
along where we got fifty six points. There you go,
all right, we'll get into this. It was very very
hard pickings to find a question for this one, but

(51:39):
we'll see how we go. Okay, So twenty years ago

(52:32):
was okay, So twenty years ago the Dragons and Tigers
actually played a season opening game up at Telstra Stadium,
which is now known as a Call Stadium. So we
won that game in a high scoring game, forty points
to thirty two. There were two players that got doubles

(52:54):
in this game, okay, and if you can name who
they are, let's see if you can buy that out.
Big team may have mentioned one a little bit earlier,
but let's let's see if you can name the other
one other player as well.

Speaker 4 (53:10):
Do we still these things still.

Speaker 5 (53:15):
Haven't sold?

Speaker 6 (53:16):
The plumb the store that hetsy type in the Man
Dragon podcast and you'll alarm, you'll find.

Speaker 5 (53:22):
Us all the merch if you want, and it fits
very well, doesn't the big team and Washes.

Speaker 4 (53:29):
I've had this one for probably three years now and
still fits like when I bought it.

Speaker 5 (53:35):
There's our billy boy, Billy.

Speaker 4 (53:44):
Your mate. Yeah, but like I said, like saying now
behind the lines, Gays and coops were our best, best
best in the combination.

Speaker 5 (53:52):
We haven't replaced them. No, I still haven't.

Speaker 4 (53:57):
Had a couple of couple of closes.

Speaker 5 (53:59):
But all right, Peter's got one, right gat Mark Gazy
did get a double in that game in two thousand
and five. The other game, probably a lot of people
probably wouldn't remember him playing for the Dragons. Actually, he
was more associated with Manly. I will I will reveal
who this player is. He played a bit of fullback,

(54:19):
played a bit of when he didn't play a lot
of football for the Dragons. But the player that scored
a double on this game was Albert Torrance, remember him, Rob?

Speaker 9 (54:32):
Yeah, played for many Dragons yep.

Speaker 5 (54:37):
So he only came He played with the Dragons in
two thousand and five, played a handful of games that year. Yeah,
he only actually how many games did he play for
the Dragons all up? He only played ten games? For
the Dragons in the two thousand and five season. But yeah,
that was it. Albert Torrens got a double. I played
in that game. It is sure we played on the wing.

(55:02):
He played on the wing in that game. Outside get
that's one of my mates. It was meant to be
on the bench, but he got elevated to the starting
lineup and Corey Payne was a new face on the
bench for them for the Dragons in that game, and
we won the game forty point to thirty two, and
we were down twenty four to twelve at halftime. And

(55:23):
of course that year there was another game later that
year that we probably don't want to remember. That one, no,
when when they knocked us out of the in the
Grand Final qualifier. Now we'll get into discussing our team.
So like in Kinktogia, Rob, you've been pushing for this

(55:48):
for weeks with Lachlan Elissa's form not just not up
to stand it. Li, like in Kintogy named a half
back many speculated to be named at five eighth, but
Flana has named him in the number seven. Jerse, are
you is this? He's been grateful when you said fast Cup.
Has this been a has this been a while coming
to have him get his fifth game in the.

Speaker 11 (56:10):
Look.

Speaker 10 (56:10):
I think he's obviously like like a right there, you know,
to be fair that it really does deserve a spot
go on the team.

Speaker 1 (56:21):
You know.

Speaker 10 (56:22):
Sadly it's written around nine when we're still suffering with
your consistency our team. I know it's across the path
before is are going to go forward, but we've been
having problems closing out games, getting back in the game.
So hopefully maybe LK team whatever a little bit of
that X factor about him. He can make something out
of nothing. He's certainly got some trisis in New South

(56:46):
Pass Cup, we've got that ability to put play through holes.
You make things happen. So I don't know if you'll
be playing half back strictly. I think you'll be playing
all five A. I think will be playing half back.
Karl's played back in the past of the Roosters and
obviously for the Sharks, and I think a little bit
at the Bulldogs.

Speaker 9 (57:05):
So and he's a halfback, so it could be terribly wrong.

Speaker 10 (57:08):
And then we've seen players play five eight before that
have gone to half back, I mean obviously playing one
during LEUI, So.

Speaker 9 (57:17):
Yeah, look good. Luck to your old KT.

Speaker 10 (57:19):
I mean, I guess he's a junior or not strictly
he's a taller boy, but again through our system, So
why not I think KK you said why not blood
some over younger players. We've got nothing to lose and
everything again, so I'm not sort of sitting in the
top for it making some wild change. So I say

(57:41):
good luck to him, and he might he might hold
a little key for us to help us get out
of line some.

Speaker 4 (57:46):
Of these games that will we're missing out in.

Speaker 5 (57:50):
Now, Coca.

Speaker 2 (57:52):
Can I just say something about that for one second?

Speaker 1 (57:54):
Is that?

Speaker 2 (57:55):
Okay? Can I say one second? I just want a
p s A to all Dragons, social media people and
fans now, l KT, I'm not going to distract his name.
I can't say it. This is his fifth game in NRL,
first game probably for a while. Now, you guys need
to understand he's a young guy coming into this game.
Give him a break on Saturday night and actually look

(58:17):
at him and give him some support, because I've seen
how you treat our players sometimes, not the VOD I'm
talking about others. Put your heads in and actually give
this kid a chance. You can't go roam in a day,
give him a chance. He's young and he might have
a sleep up, but do not be nasty, be kind.

(58:38):
He's a young player and development that.

Speaker 5 (58:42):
You on this Coco liking kink Toonga's come in for
locals who's been dropped to New South Wales Cup?

Speaker 2 (58:49):
Yep?

Speaker 5 (58:50):
Do you think this is the rest of the season
if like just perform or is there a way back
for LocHal Elis if he finds his form again in
New South Wales Cup?

Speaker 2 (59:01):
Well, I'm loving that he can come in now. I
don't think it was just Lachlan Ilius in the team
on on Friday, it was just the main the main
person to be dropped. Now it's no harm you know what,
It's no harm in going back to New New South
Walest Cup. Have a little have a little turn. Look
at Sloan. He went there for two into three games

(59:23):
and he came back with a bit of passion, a
bit of confidence. Maybe that's what Ilius needs, you know.
I'm hoping Olkt is going to go well. I can't
wait to see how he plays on the weekend. Jesse,
I need to ask a question what happened to Finn now?
Is he injured or did he get dropped again?

Speaker 8 (59:43):
Dropped?

Speaker 2 (59:44):
Okay, I need to swear, is it a good time?
That is fucking outrageous. He scored that try, he played
his guts out, no fun again, that is just ridiculous,
Like you've got to give them a chance. You can't
just just bea chop and changing. Like, I'm god smacked.

Speaker 4 (01:00:07):
I was looking for his car's a smaller body too.

Speaker 2 (01:00:10):
Yeah, Like like I watched that try because I had
to replay it because when you're at the game sometimes
you miss stuff. Yeah, and the way he tried, like
he had that speed like human floan together magical. I'm
just yeah, I'm just a bit you know.

Speaker 4 (01:00:27):
I think it's terribly unfair. I agree with you.

Speaker 10 (01:00:29):
I think does this and he tries to go for
the experienced guys and the older I mean, like you
said about the okay, t give him half a dozen games.
Don't just give him one or two. I mean, we
see any that you know killed that.

Speaker 4 (01:00:45):
We haven't got a half a dozen games.

Speaker 11 (01:00:47):
Rob.

Speaker 4 (01:00:48):
I know he scored a try it, but I mean,
just bring dropping him, you know what I mean?

Speaker 10 (01:00:53):
It wasn't that bad.

Speaker 5 (01:00:56):
Targeted a fair bit by the roosters, but yeah, what
do you deserve a bit more of a crack? I
mean first grade. You look at it too so much.

Speaker 4 (01:01:08):
This weekend by the Tigers. You know, what do you do? Yeah,
it's pretty tough, I know.

Speaker 2 (01:01:20):
But back to your question, Jesse, I do agree. I
do think if if he does go well with this game,
but we do have a few games that are going
to be a bit hard. I think we've got Tigers
and Warriors and then the Broncast. Oh, the Broncos, So
then they're tough, so like they need to adapt to

(01:01:41):
the playing type. But also I think the new like
I think Lkat and Funnick and should work together and
maybe have Cook come in as the cookie such little
so they can all have that little special little power
play that they can use together. You know, have that
little you know you see like you and go, yeah,

(01:02:04):
they have that little you know when Jamie Soward and
Boyd and Mars, Yeah, exactly like how they had all that.
It's fine, it's fine, you know. That's what they need
to get back to that so we can actually win
more games and get that determination and the confidence on
the and the power plays. So that's what I think

(01:02:27):
that they need to do.

Speaker 4 (01:02:30):
Well. Last week, forwards didn't run and none of except
the Jade and Sewer never run over one hundred meters.
So yeah, they've got to go forward. They got to
go forward, mate, they got to go forward and they
got a tackle. Yeah. I didn't ever look at the
miss tackles was last week.

Speaker 5 (01:02:47):
It was wayful.

Speaker 4 (01:02:49):
I know, I did watch the game. I was like
this all game, what could you do? You know, it's funny.

Speaker 10 (01:03:04):
I watched some footage of Funny in today, back when
he was playing at Roosters, and I know the Roosters
let him go, but as a half then he ran
right up to the line, so it wasn't going sideways.
He run right to the line off lay, you know
what I mean. So maybe that's what we'll be back
to as well too with our halves. You know, running
up to the line helped the forwards go forward, momentum

(01:03:25):
game manage better as well too. Look look for his
face for the kicks as well too, all that sort
of stuff and hopefully little gel and you know, and
I mean, let's face it, Gatha had probably his worst
game too, didn't he.

Speaker 9 (01:03:41):
So so there's a lot off players on the weekend.

Speaker 2 (01:03:46):
So I don't know and that's the worst game to
be off because it's like the ends that day game
where it's like a Grand Final, the whole crowd is
like it's full and you can feel like penny.

Speaker 5 (01:03:57):
Drops and you know, it's just this is another big
coker because every everyone, all all sixteen clubs will be
up at sun Court.

Speaker 4 (01:04:05):
Maybe fifty it will be fiftyer won't.

Speaker 2 (01:04:08):
Because if we're the last game on Saturday night, Yeah,
so everyone will be seen there from like three o'clock
or whatever.

Speaker 8 (01:04:17):
Yeah, didn't.

Speaker 6 (01:04:18):
Did you say Buzz's article today about nepotism at the Dragons, Yeah, yes,
I saw that.

Speaker 2 (01:04:24):
No, I didn't.

Speaker 6 (01:04:25):
That's what That's what Muhammad did, just said Carl Flanagan.
He starts playing some bad games. He hasn't played many
good games.

Speaker 14 (01:04:32):
Really that I do.

Speaker 2 (01:04:34):
Then it's not a bad idea to go like like
I don't know, imagine if like I know, we go
on about Nathan Cleory, but that's the only Sun I
really know at the minute, like Son and like imagine
if he had to go to New Cup, that would
be like it's not a bad thing, you know. They
all have to go back to get their passion and

(01:04:56):
confidence back. They could learn something from the other guys.
You know, stop thinking that you're you're like VP because
you're in You're the same as everybody else, and you're.

Speaker 4 (01:05:10):
With his son, and we got we've gotta hope not
we've got to hope not a little bit.

Speaker 5 (01:05:16):
But well, here is what didn't say about it. Do
you want to hear what he said? So he said
he said, I'm not suggesting Shane flanning is picking sides
on his family, but there's a perception there. I'm happy
Kyle still on the side, but I think he needs
to produce a little bit more. That's what I said
earlier today. I agree that's nothing to do with him

(01:05:39):
not liking the drags at all. He's just saying that
because that's part of his joban criticize. And I do
agree that just he's unnoticed because he's already made the
call of dropping locklanw LEAs And I don't if Kyle
Flanningham doesn't pick up his form. Jonah Glover is also
going well in New South Wales. Jana Glover could also

(01:06:01):
come up if Kyle Flanninger doesn't pick up his form soon.

Speaker 9 (01:06:05):
But it's a bit of a it's a mockery when
you get when you get the coach of the.

Speaker 10 (01:06:09):
Team from a year or so whatever it was, who
announces that Kyle Flanner is coming from the from the
Bulldogs as a fourteen and backup. Well got and he
ends up playing two years whatever as a five eight.
I would have said he's a halfback, not a five eight.
So and then we went for Tom Diedon. We didn't
get Tron Didon, and then we lost the main Obviously

(01:06:30):
we knew that was on the cards. He didn't want
to keep Bud Sullivan.

Speaker 4 (01:06:35):
So I don't know.

Speaker 9 (01:06:36):
Jesse Flanning is not a five eight for me, but that's.

Speaker 4 (01:06:40):
Just my point of view.

Speaker 5 (01:06:43):
Yeah, all right, we'll go to you now for big t.
Now Corey Allen. This will be his first game for
the club. He's coming from a serious, serious a cl injury.
But god to see him finally back in the top grade.
I would have liked to say, I'll get another crack.

Speaker 6 (01:07:01):
But I thought I thought he was on our run
on side last year. I thought he was our best winger.
Ended up ended up finding Toy plodded.

Speaker 4 (01:07:14):
But yeah, I thought he was out probably our number
two number two wingers behind the other guy, the guy
shall not name, but.

Speaker 6 (01:07:26):
Yeah, now I couldn't see al and get a run.
He's a big playing he's a state of origin player,
so played for the Bulldogs come over to us last
year beginning of last year. Danny's a c L. He's
a smaller body than for now. I've got much I
think faster as well. But I'm not sure what happened there,

(01:07:49):
but yeah, good to see him get a run. He's
been playing well in reserve grade. He's got experience. Like
I said, he's a state of origin player. So uh,
if you can get back to that state of origin form,
that'll be absolutely fantastic.

Speaker 5 (01:08:05):
Yep, a surprise move, Rob Now Flanno has named Hamys
Stewart at Locke. Now, Hami Stewart's just come back from
the eleven day standard concussion protocols are the manitary ones there.
But he's made a big call by starting Hamis Stewart
Locke ahead of the veteran Jack de Bellon, who will
go back to the bench. Planet is Flanno maybe looking

(01:08:27):
to put a young young players as the middle forwards
like you look tbe Couschman and Dylan Egan's been shifting
to the middle times during games as well. What do
you think of this move with Hamish Stewart named at Fernine.

Speaker 10 (01:08:41):
I think it's more mobility, yeah, I mean, look, you
can look at it like these young boys are coming
through Egan Stewart obviously both couch from brothers Ryans obviously injured.
I think it might be a bit more of a
mobility thing against the West Tigers. Yeah, obviously JJ Lee
is just a tackling machine. But yeah, I think Steward

(01:09:02):
off is that a little bit more, you know what
I mean, he's tackling too as well too, maybe an
attack as well, so purely maybe that and maybe just
Finity thought, well against the Ruses it was that bad.

Speaker 9 (01:09:15):
I want to change it up a bit, you know
what I mean, And let's see how this starting goes.

Speaker 10 (01:09:20):
But as big t as we know with Funnite, what
might be this team on paper coming out before the
game might change. So yeah, so surprise, surprise, don't be
surprised if one or two of these players might be
on the bench or maybe even flating.

Speaker 6 (01:09:41):
I think he has learned his team, he has likes
the chop shop and change players definitely.

Speaker 5 (01:09:50):
Yeah, Okay, are you there still in the background, Yes, yes,
all right now, I man, we were just talking about
Jack Debellen has been bad this time around. Do you
think it more because he was burnt out by that
Rooster's pack. I know he wasn't the only one, but
he's not getting any younger, and yeah he doesn't. He

(01:10:13):
can still play the minutes, but I'm I'm sure Slano's
maybe looking for more of an impact role from him
this time round. That's probably why he's coming back to
the bench. What's your take on wife Flano's bench Jack Debellen.

Speaker 2 (01:10:24):
I understand what he's saying because he is I think
I'm thirty six. I think he's a bit two or
maybe thirty four. Yeah four there would go well, yeah,
I think I was up there. I can't even run
let alone and do what he's doing. But he did
look very ghassed on the weekend, which and him and Toby.
But I thought he might be a good mentor to Toby,

(01:10:45):
like being on the field with him, because I can
see him trying to help support Toby on the field,
like last week he was guiding him and when if
something happened, he would like, good job, mate, and things
like that. So maybe he could. Maybe he's coming on
maybe to help the younger ones have a break, and
then he can come in at the crucial times when

(01:11:06):
Jack plays well. He plays well, he's on the ball,
you know, if and it can be I don't know
what to take to pay even for ten minutes, you know,
last week was I think everyone was just too gassed.
You could tell by the meters the errors, but maybe.

Speaker 4 (01:11:25):
Too many stupid errors.

Speaker 10 (01:11:27):
Yeah, and to exactly, I think maybe TB Koutchman. He's
a freak, right, his fetness is a freak. Higgins breathing
the same way, and Stuart as well, so maybe funny
he's looking at the fitness factor and maybe JD has
been more an impact guy.

Speaker 4 (01:11:44):
Now we know he can make heaps of tables, but
maybe that might be Yeah, that guy.

Speaker 9 (01:11:52):
And we're seeing Leoch off the bench too.

Speaker 4 (01:11:55):
He can make a huge I think he's more of
a bench player now would he say yeah, yeah, yeah,
he comes on and makes those made as past the
border homes Him and Hams work well together.

Speaker 1 (01:12:10):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:12:10):
I do like Leach. It's good to see the young
guys in. That's good to see him in the team.
Who knows what is playing with he could put JB.
D back to Locke and Stewart to the bench. Who
knows he's so synonymous for doing this.

Speaker 5 (01:12:29):
What you say, it could very well change on game day.

Speaker 4 (01:12:35):
Something that's good to say, Lass and going to run
to We're not going to run but get named in
the twenty two now.

Speaker 5 (01:12:42):
Yeah, so, as we mentioned before, Corey Allen comes in,
it's the only thing now that misses out. He goes
back to New South Wales Cup. You have to feel
for him then, we've got we've got it was very heavily,
heavily targeted by the by the Rooster's attack and and
he was found out a little bit in times during

(01:13:03):
that game. As we said, it's only his fourth game
in the top grade. He's still young. You think maybe
he just wants to find his feet a little bit again,
and maybe it's a bit of a learning curve for it.

Speaker 6 (01:13:15):
We've talked about we've talked we've talked about this before
before on the show today. How how how we feel
for the poor They've got to give him, they've got
to give chances out.

Speaker 4 (01:13:27):
He's a bigger body than Allen.

Speaker 6 (01:13:28):
I'm not sure I think he's faster than now on,
but again drop back to reserve grade. Maybe he was
was there was something wrong that didn't like, go back
to reserve grade and work on it.

Speaker 5 (01:13:44):
Yeah, all right, and you're on the way outs responsored
by Complete Wear Solutions. Go see Jeff and the team
on four to five, seven nine zero at nine at
six Commerce Drive in Lake Illawarra. Okay, now we'll get
into the grades news. So just that there's no Junior Reps,

(01:14:04):
Dragons or Steelers teams left. So we just got the
new South Wales Cup and the Jersey Fleeg to run
through tonight. So first of all, on Sunday at twelve
pm at like sorry lydkmobile, it'll be the Dragons up
against the west Magpires. The Dragons this is how they
will like Westpring at fullback. The wingers are Toby Rumble

(01:14:26):
and David Afu. The centers are Lyric crafted Tea Marwana
Nui and Charlie Hike. The hearts are Tyler Pagham Harris
and Kane Reid. The back row is Daniel Miafu No
second round named to partner Drew Langdon. Up front it's
Campbell Ruby, Isaiah Fagalilo and Rights the captain. The bench
for the Jersey Fleeg team is Blake Metca, Billy Army, Hequila,

(01:14:49):
Jared Johnson, Tobias Miller, and eighteenth player is Clay Bulldock
and the coach is Shane Millard. And then two fifteen
also at Lidkmobile, it is the he is the Dragon's
usep I's Cup team playing also the West Main pires
at two fifteen on Sunday, so Fallback and Captainy's Codie Ramsey.
The wingers are Fine Now and Ben Rumble. The centers

(01:15:12):
are Nick sa Grannis. Normally a back row, he's playing
in the center's partner he Hayden Buchanan. The hams are
Jonahlover and Lachlan Ilias. Up front, there's no front rowers named.
The hooker is Connel Mollison. The second row is that
Jacob Halen Gahu and Raymond Patala. Marina Nu Latu locks
the scrum on the bench it is Haylei Finewon's twin brother,

(01:15:34):
Michael Molow, Villiami Ffieda and Gently You. And the eighteenth
player is Jacob Webster and the coach is Willie Talout.
But we'll get into this night. It's a few weeks
since we've had this, but we'll get her in. It's
her time of night to shine.

Speaker 4 (01:15:51):
He's slugging it out.

Speaker 2 (01:15:53):
In the middle of the field. The dragons foot row
is not is back.

Speaker 11 (01:16:03):
It's time to look at the one o one battles
that will decide to do. Will it be the chief
position words? Will the fight be one out wide or
will it be one up front? Scrap yourself in for
a pro.

Speaker 1 (01:16:25):
Class?

Speaker 5 (01:16:38):
All right? Ok, have it to you.

Speaker 2 (01:16:40):
Okay. So I was walking at the list and this
is who I think is so for me. I think
the number one so Buller versus go Though, I think
they're how they catch the ball, how they run at
the ball. I think those two will be good matchup.
Also corrosed Ow versus the flash Cook. I think how

(01:17:02):
they do their own little techniques and power play because
the nine is very tricky, a very tricky position, because
that's they will be mischievous and they will be namiliperlative
on the field and know where the holes are, like
I know Cook tried and little on en Zapday tried
little gaps And that's what I love about them both.

(01:17:22):
They know where the little gaps are and they can
run for the ball or run through the line and
try and score or do a triasis. Also, I think
it's going to be interesting. Well, I have to say,
like Leuye and l KT, it's going to be an
interesting game. I just hope LKKT just enjoys the moment,

(01:17:44):
be magic round another game. But I hope he shines.
And like fin Now did last week, I was really
proud of fin Out. And you know what, mister Flanagin,
you should have let him play this weekend. You should
have played. I'm so angry with you right now. All
so May Now Jesse who's May playing? I forgot the
match up against YEP, so that those two would be

(01:18:10):
great as well. And also David Clement coming back playing
against his old team and Jack Bird playing against US
as well, so that's gonna be an interesting little Also
Benji Benji used to play for US, so he's a
coach now so he will kind of know something. So yeah,
it's and that's who I think. That's my little thing too.

(01:18:33):
That's it. Thank you anyone else on the panel. What
about you, big t You're very good at these things.

Speaker 15 (01:18:40):
I like the halves. I love the battle of the halves.
You've got and we're all up against and ok, two
against against. Yeah, two young buds, and I think in
King Tuggy is just as good at playing is Gaalvian,

(01:19:00):
if not better.

Speaker 10 (01:19:04):
Yeah, do you have any roubers, I'll just show my
hair one again.

Speaker 4 (01:19:17):
Big teas love women out there and even.

Speaker 16 (01:19:19):
Scoops they mind's my choice, mate choice. It's cracking me up.
You're gonna take the good with the bag, right, you
can't laugh and you laugh at I think the middle
we've got to be much improved af forward. Obviously, there's
some mobile big guys for Tigers that I think the

(01:19:43):
young guys it's going to be Gallvian pretty much.

Speaker 10 (01:19:46):
Up against the olk t I still think t you'll
play just what I think so Fane Junior Kyle against
Little Way, I think that'll be good. And then let's
not forget and what Buller is quite an incredible player.
So we need Gutha to get back to the best
form of Gutho's form with some triosis and so yeah,

(01:20:10):
it's going to be a really interesting match across the
park and Cookie with Addie Carrosil as well too. So
there's some great battles if you look at it individually.

Speaker 5 (01:20:22):
Yep, now without a doubt. So we'll get into some
news and rumors. Now you're on the Mad Dragons podcast
sponsored by Complete Were Solutions. So released today finally by
the club, the Dragons have extended Liking Kingtoya. That mean
we were just talking about the Dragons. Then they did
release a statement confirming that today the Dragons are policed

(01:20:44):
to confirm that Liking King Tooya has signed a contract
extension with the club. So the deal will see the
Dolby Devils junior progress into the club's top thirty squad
for the twenty twenty six and twenty twenty seven seasons.
He will join Loco Pacificatonga and then recently resigned Jake
of Helen gahu as recent as well as recent Anneral
debutante Dilan Egan and Haimi Stewart as Dragon's academy graduates

(01:21:08):
in the club's top thirty next year. The nineteen year
old made his debut in the Sides round twenty four
win over the Titans last season, going on to make
four Aneral appearances with one try. Locking down like in
another couple of seasons, is exciting for the club. Head
coach Shane Flanagan said today he got a taste of
first grade at the end of last year and has

(01:21:29):
been playing good footy to start this season for our
New So Wild's Cup team. He's exciting. He's an exciting
young half on the up and we're looking forward to
what will continue to improve over the next coming season. Rob,
what are your thoughts on this on LKT and re

(01:21:49):
signing here.

Speaker 9 (01:21:50):
Yeah, mate, I think it's good. It's a good move.

Speaker 10 (01:21:56):
He's obviously shown a lot of ability in his junior
abilitague and coming through the Dragons, So I'm excited, mate,
you know, for one of ours. I know you're starting
to warn his rugby league, but he's been with the
Dragons roll while now, so yeah, I think he's a
good signing, positive signing, and he's been given a game,
and I think, like K said, I hope he gets

(01:22:18):
a number of games, you know, to have a game.
You know, I'm not swapping change so fingers crossed. I'm
just noticing the Big T and I getting a lot
of ship on the name. We're technically young and senior
citizens in this country. Fifty five sixty six, right, Big T.
Jesse's thirty picking on Jesse.

Speaker 2 (01:22:36):
Come on, jeez, I'm thirty six. I have a thick skin.

Speaker 4 (01:22:40):
Come on, it's okay, you're going in thirty six Coco.

Speaker 9 (01:22:45):
Seriously, you look like jeez.

Speaker 2 (01:22:47):
Oh no, thank you, but no, I'm thirty six. And
what happened to treat others the way you want to
be created? Friends for friends.

Speaker 4 (01:22:57):
Because probably Scoop doing all these names. Yeah, this guy,
this guy's on bix. I'll be on bix a few
times myself, but.

Speaker 5 (01:23:07):
He likes it all right.

Speaker 4 (01:23:09):
Now, let's controversy.

Speaker 5 (01:23:12):
Yep, it's very.

Speaker 2 (01:23:13):
Nice that mul You're going to get barred in a minute.

Speaker 5 (01:23:19):
Now. Over the weekend we saw fifteen or sixteen symbins,
eighteen out of control eighteen was it? Wow, it's getting
out of We've.

Speaker 6 (01:23:30):
Had eighteen symbins from round one to round seven, and
then eighteen last weekend.

Speaker 5 (01:23:35):
In one game run weekend of football. And Andrew Abdo
recently mad ANX appearance on Anirotic sixty last night to
address what's going on, and he has admitted that the
referees have got some calls wrong.

Speaker 17 (01:23:52):
I think that's reserved for really serious, significant fil play
and it's probably been overused in the last couple.

Speaker 14 (01:23:59):
Of weeks about eighteen was eighteen synbin.

Speaker 5 (01:24:02):
Are we seeing more head eyes?

Speaker 14 (01:24:03):
Are other players that ill disciplined.

Speaker 17 (01:24:06):
We've definitely seen an increase in head high tackles this season.
This time last year, up to round eight, we had
about two hundred head high tackles.

Speaker 14 (01:24:15):
This year we've got about three and seventy nine.

Speaker 17 (01:24:18):
So we've seen an increase, but it's different for each team.
So some of the players and some of the teams
are adapting better than others. Some teams that haven't had
a symbol for a head high tackle this season. Some
teams have only given away three penalties, others.

Speaker 8 (01:24:31):
More than that.

Speaker 17 (01:24:31):
So there's quite a lot of inconsistency around the way
in which the players have been really disciplined about it. Now,
we understand that from time to time there will be mitigation,
and again we want to make sure.

Speaker 14 (01:24:41):
That the referees are empowered to act.

Speaker 17 (01:24:43):
They're looking for specific things, they're looking for force, but
they're also looking for mitigation and they get those calls right.
And this weekend there were some errors where that mitigation
wasn't applied.

Speaker 14 (01:24:53):
And it goes both ways.

Speaker 8 (01:24:55):
Andrew challenge you.

Speaker 18 (01:24:56):
I'm saying there's been a great down, And I take
your point that you're suggesting there's been more head high
tackles this year. I think the forty is very similar
to what it was last year. And the bottom line is,
and the statistics don't lie here. Sin bins are up
one hundred and forty percent, reports are up seventy five percent.

(01:25:19):
And I hope you do understand and look, I can
totally understand you coming in here defending the people who
work for you, but there is massive fan outrage out
there about officiating in the game around the sin benings.

Speaker 8 (01:25:35):
And people think of this a crack down.

Speaker 17 (01:25:38):
Yes, as I referred to earlier, but as this is
not about me being defensive or coming here saying there's nothing.

Speaker 8 (01:25:43):
But I understand you, yeah.

Speaker 17 (01:25:46):
Yeah, thinking a kindability for that, But coming back to
your stats, but what I'm saying is over a ninety
percent increase in the number of high tackles, and we're
seeing a lot of inconsistency between the clubs as well,
which means that honestly, leave there's a collective effort that's
required yet and the accountability does sit with the game,
it does it with the officials too, but we also

(01:26:06):
need everyone to pull together and make sure that we
don't see a situation where we see, like we saw
this weekend, a huge amomber of symbolds. None of us
want to see penalties, None of us want to see
sym bends. None of us want to see head ye
tackles either. So there's a collective effort.

Speaker 8 (01:26:19):
Yet did they Sorry?

Speaker 19 (01:26:21):
I think the players did it to take accountability. But
my concern is around this too, is that there were
a number of penalties on the weekend for high contact
when the players didn't even make high contact, which to
me suggests that the referees are really looking for it.
They're looking to blow the penalties for high contact when
when as I said, there was at least two or
three where there really wasn't much at all, if any.

Speaker 14 (01:26:43):
Yeah, I'm not going to disagree with you. You know,
I've already said that.

Speaker 17 (01:26:47):
I think there were a number of errors in applying
the decision tree for what constitutes the symbold, even potentially
what constitutions penalty. So we want to make sure that
they are using the indicators as a guideline. You know,
there's things to look for in mitigation, and I think
that needs to be taken into account. Similarly, with level
of force, we want to make sure that it's significant

(01:27:08):
level of force and there's no mitigation before we go
to And I completely agree that there were a number
of calls that should not have been a sym bed. Equally,
there were a few calls that weren't that probably should
have been as well, So it goes both ways.

Speaker 14 (01:27:20):
We want to keep getting better.

Speaker 4 (01:27:22):
The great concerns that Magic Ground's going to be ruined
by this.

Speaker 14 (01:27:25):
What assurances can you give the fans that that won't happen?

Speaker 17 (01:27:28):
Well, I mean, I can never give insurances on anything, really,
That's part of why we love professional sport, right, But
what I can say is that we have listened. I
can say that we review each and every match, each
and every round, and we've looked at some of the
errors that occurred this weekend and we want to make
sure that they don't get repeated. So I think that
what you're going to see is definitely less intervention from

(01:27:51):
the banker when play has moved on that threshold is
really high, and I think you're going to see the
referees applying mitigation more effectively that gone.

Speaker 19 (01:28:00):
Now they won't coming to play now the bunker Well,
only a few players like this.

Speaker 14 (01:28:05):
Only if it's significant with serious file play.

Speaker 5 (01:28:10):
Is that could be. I think we'll leave that bit there,
But do you agree with what Andrew Abdo says.

Speaker 8 (01:28:17):
So?

Speaker 5 (01:28:18):
Only the only time they will stop and go back
on a replay is if it's foul play and it's
worth a send off of fence right call?

Speaker 4 (01:28:25):
Do they send off or send off? We haven't seen
a send off this year.

Speaker 5 (01:28:32):
I've seen one. Nothing.

Speaker 4 (01:28:34):
I don't think we have.

Speaker 6 (01:28:35):
But I think I've seen a couple of tackles this
weekend where players have stayed down and then it was
only insignificant. He might have got a slap in the
face or a poke in the ear or something, and
he stayed down, and the referees give the penalty and
heeds just straight back up again. Actually, you know, I
think if those plays, if those plays, if those players

(01:28:56):
stay down, they must have to leave the field for
at least five five minutes to get a short assessment.
If it's a A, if it's a HIA, they go
to the bin. If not, If not, if not, five
minutes or two minutes until or until the ball games
had to play. Because you can't play, say you can't

(01:29:18):
have played staying down, getting the penalty and jumping straight
back up again.

Speaker 4 (01:29:22):
Say there's nothing with me.

Speaker 5 (01:29:24):
And the blake. The blake gets ten in the bin.

Speaker 4 (01:29:26):
Yeah, you can't do that. If it's if it's not
if it's not a simin offense, if it's a player
on that player must be taken off the field.

Speaker 2 (01:29:34):
It can't help you.

Speaker 4 (01:29:36):
Yeah, the player must be taken off the field for
at least two minutes or until the ball games had
to play.

Speaker 5 (01:29:42):
Did you see Joey John's he picked out twenty minutes
to go in that Tiger Sharks game because he's over
the same minute.

Speaker 4 (01:29:50):
I mean, like you say, you see what he said
about the tackles. He said about the tackles as well.

Speaker 6 (01:29:56):
He also said that it's hard when you've got three
players go into a tackle for the middle player to
put his arms both out. He needs to have one
tucked in or he's going to just to Cady's shoulder.
He's gonna he's got two players either side of him.

Speaker 10 (01:30:13):
Joe's right, Little Ronald McDonald, did Ronald Man tell he
just got a little bit of a click in the
face and went down like the candyward. It was look
so that it's making the players too, that they know
that if they get tapped with it with his crack down,
but you know it's going to cause it.

Speaker 6 (01:30:29):
But if they if they stay down and it wasn't
a high tackle or or or a SimBin off for
two or five minutes opposition team. Yeah, if that's my
milk it, because that's exactly right, because how many how
many how many times to see a player, like I
said before, jump up after the penalty is given.

Speaker 5 (01:30:49):
The milk it, Yeah, yeah, it is. It is the bunker.
The bunker is getting involved in the game play. The bunker,
I reckons should only be involved if they're looking at
hi A, if.

Speaker 4 (01:31:05):
They send off to send off or try.

Speaker 5 (01:31:09):
Yep, that's the only time they should be intervening. The referees.
I think people are gonna should be for this, but
it's this is not the referees that they are fighting
for their jobs if they if they don't do their job,
they're out the door. So they've got to do their job.
It's they're feeling the pressure and I think that if

(01:31:31):
that's probably why they're making the cause to send them
to send any high contact off of ten because their
jobs on the line, and it's not them making the cause,
it's probably the player. That's probably the hierarchy who's telling
them to make these sendings.

Speaker 10 (01:31:48):
But you also see with the tribes mate, they know
more than not they'd say the truck because they're too
scared to try because they you know.

Speaker 5 (01:31:57):
What I mean, they make the MISA when they're right
on the spot.

Speaker 9 (01:32:00):
Yeah, you know what I mean, they're rely.

Speaker 4 (01:32:01):
On the bunker.

Speaker 6 (01:32:03):
That's the the the Bunker gets advertisement for their cats,
for their sponsor.

Speaker 10 (01:32:11):
They got I got a question for you in the
bunker Because the NFL you can magnetize right so you
know how sometimes a player might just go to the
sideline or whatever it is, or jumps up to the
end oxter back in Apparently the NFL they magnetize it
right up so you can see, you know right there.

Speaker 9 (01:32:28):
Is that what the Bunker has that we don't see
on TV?

Speaker 4 (01:32:31):
Or surely you must. I think I think they've got
they've got so many more angles than we get.

Speaker 5 (01:32:37):
They must have cameras at the ground or something.

Speaker 10 (01:32:39):
Yeah, you know, it's real close ones where it could
be that small. So it's interesting stuff. But this is
this rule had to go because this track down is
made to get Could you imagine if we're two weeks
out of finals and this cost the team getting in
the semifinals?

Speaker 6 (01:32:54):
This is this is not a point I should we
should bring up from from last week when Oton attack
Lily with the elbow.

Speaker 4 (01:33:03):
That was terrible. We didn't need nothing for that that.
There has to be a sin ben offense.

Speaker 5 (01:33:09):
Yep, you cannot leave with your l forum twice.

Speaker 4 (01:33:12):
The elbowed him in the head and then need him
in the head. It was shocking.

Speaker 9 (01:33:15):
And what about what about the canny play? Should should
you didn't get a singin in.

Speaker 4 (01:33:22):
The game for that hid him twice?

Speaker 8 (01:33:27):
Well?

Speaker 5 (01:33:28):
Wayne Benet made a suggestion today yesterday I think it
was don't send Beingdom during the game. If it's bad enough,
penalize them and let the match review deal with it
at a later date. Don't send Bendom during the game.
I mean, has he got a point there? Wayne Bennett,
what do you think, Oh.

Speaker 2 (01:33:49):
If it's a bad you know someone, because I watched
Pooty all like through the weekend and some of them,
like you know, the Bulldogs one, it was a bit harsh,
But if they're slipping, it's not really the person's fault,
like if he's slipping over what they meant to just
stop in mid air and just that I'm not going
to tackle you, sorry, like you know, but if if

(01:34:13):
it's a bigger defense, if it's a big tackle, right, yes,
all right, yes.

Speaker 6 (01:34:18):
That's the one that gets me. Okay, where the player
the players you're going to tackle around the middle. Yeah,
and the player slips, Yeah, he hits your arm.

Speaker 4 (01:34:30):
Yeah, that's that's the one on Maybe it should be
it should be a penalty. No way, it should be
ten in the bin.

Speaker 2 (01:34:43):
Yeah, that's right.

Speaker 4 (01:34:43):
You look at tennessca and I said this before he
gets to the tackle and he drops through his knees. Yeah,
every every tackle he gets to the tackle and drops
through his knees.

Speaker 10 (01:34:53):
They're pouring rain this week, and the conditions won't be terrible,
you know what I mean. Players are slipping right exactly.

Speaker 5 (01:35:03):
Well, Sun Corps had copped a lot of rain. Like
you saw that Broncos Bulldogs game last week. That was
torrential ruin. They played him. Red's played the night after that,
and then they had the soccer on after as well,
which leads into our next question, our next topic. So
there before get four days of football coming up at

(01:35:25):
sun Corps, starting with Thursday night with the Women's Origin.
Then we've got two games on Friday, three on Saturday
and free on Sunday. So there's rain predicted on Thursday, Friday, sorry, Thursday,
Saturday and Sunday. None predicted for Friday. Now, I was
listening to I don't know if you I know you

(01:35:45):
listened to s c M a little bit, Rob, But
talking to the the ground manager at sun Corp to day,
they're talking about how the the ground will hold up
with four days of football coming up. So you did
mention that they do keep the turf. Actually it's fourteen
meters or something. It's it's really it weighs a ton

(01:36:08):
the line of grass they put in. They keep it
on a farm like an hour out of Brisbane, they said.
And when there's no events there, like even when they
have concerts in the off season, they have other sporting
events there. They have this spin called a grow lot
which keeps the light on the grass when there's when
there's nothing happening at sun Corp. So just to keep
the grass growing. And yeah, it is not the tiffy,

(01:36:34):
not that synthetic grass or it's not that sort of
grass where you can go down to Bunnings and say
I'm getting a roll of grass. But yep, with the
rain that it may come into play it. But yeah,
four days of rugby league at sun Corp, how do
you think the ground will hold up?

Speaker 9 (01:36:51):
Well, man, I listened to it was quite incredible technology.

Speaker 10 (01:36:54):
Obviously, the grass is matured right up till it's like
it's going to be laid that it's it's almost, you know,
to the point that it's saying, you know what I mean,
So they're putting it down.

Speaker 4 (01:37:04):
It's saying you know what I mean, you can run
on and all that.

Speaker 10 (01:37:06):
But I know I still question with all that action
on the field, and if we're going to get pouring
rain as well too, it's just going to get torn up,
isn't it mean? I mean, at the end of the day,
it's not synthetic or something like that where you know,
necessarily going to get torn up. So as good as
and I believe this guy is curated, it looks after

(01:37:28):
this field is meant to be the best of the best.
But I don't know, I don't see how it's not
going to get torn up.

Speaker 4 (01:37:33):
Mate. If the weather is the way the weather's going
to be eventually, you know what I mean.

Speaker 5 (01:37:39):
Yeah, And how do you think it'll hold up? Big T.
I just think that's four days of football.

Speaker 4 (01:37:46):
Four days of rain, well Friday or I know, my
back out looks like when I get four days of rain,
it's like a quagmire.

Speaker 6 (01:37:56):
But I'm like, I'm I'm saying, so I get to
get goes away pretty quick. But yeah, maybe the car
park might be underwater. I'm not sure, but because there's
a car park under sun Corp.

Speaker 5 (01:38:10):
But it's a very very it's felt well looked after ground.
It's always a fast.

Speaker 4 (01:38:13):
Track is very well looked after ground. Right into the ground,
doesn't get doesn't get sung.

Speaker 5 (01:38:17):
So yeah, he said, from April to August, he said,
that's crazy the ground. Yeah, so that might be a
bit snippy out there, different grass.

Speaker 4 (01:38:32):
I'm not sure. I'm not sure hold up, but I'm sure.

Speaker 6 (01:38:35):
I'm sure they've done the calculations and it's gonna it's
going to hold up by Sunday night.

Speaker 5 (01:38:40):
But he has every confidence that I'll be ready to
go come wmen to oragor kickoff on Thursday night.

Speaker 4 (01:38:46):
Fine, I'll be game too. A lot that game excited
for that which which leads us to.

Speaker 5 (01:38:54):
At that time of the night. Tips. So we'll start
with well, I don't quite go into it a route bore,
but we'll start with women's orange gips. Four of us on,
so we'll get it to everyone. Coco New soth Wales, Queensland,
who wins the first women's state of origin.

Speaker 2 (01:39:13):
Queen when it's origin just like Queensland. They get away
with Jackie's everything, the New South Welshman. They just think.

Speaker 4 (01:39:32):
That's all I'm here. That's all I'm here at the moment.
That's all we're hearing.

Speaker 2 (01:39:37):
I don't care, you know, mine your mind?

Speaker 4 (01:39:42):
I reckon Queensland War fourteen.

Speaker 5 (01:39:44):
Who's going to score for Queensland?

Speaker 17 (01:39:50):
You know?

Speaker 4 (01:39:50):
Yeah, thanks for laughing Jesus alright, jasmines. Everyone she's a
pretty classy player. Where's she from North Queensland? And she yes, yeah,
I think she's a classy player.

Speaker 2 (01:40:03):
So you should know what, oh should know?

Speaker 5 (01:40:12):
Four heads on the team. Just remember big tasts got
two heads right?

Speaker 4 (01:40:18):
No one under here.

Speaker 2 (01:40:21):
It's ridiculous because really the women haven't even even played it,
so how do they know that? Like, that's what I mean,
that's shut up?

Speaker 20 (01:40:35):
You's mind is made of mine is a bulldog supporter,
so you can't take anything he says for grant and
like you're taking for granted a piece of salt.

Speaker 21 (01:40:50):
Of I love to say that good Blake, good Blake,
s good Blake, call him Scooby, call him all right?

Speaker 5 (01:41:00):
Who's going to score for the Blues Coco? And are
they going to win?

Speaker 1 (01:41:03):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (01:41:04):
I think it's gonna be by four because it was
very close last year, so I think it's going to
be close. It's gonna still be close. Yeah, I think they.
I think they need to watch out playing two big
and short is a big and shot from the Queen. Yeah,

(01:41:24):
she's very's.

Speaker 4 (01:41:25):
Getting a bit of rage on it now though.

Speaker 5 (01:41:27):
Yeah.

Speaker 4 (01:41:28):
Thirty six, How I was?

Speaker 14 (01:41:32):
How I was?

Speaker 4 (01:41:33):
Forty two, wasn't you?

Speaker 14 (01:41:34):
Yeah?

Speaker 5 (01:41:35):
And kestently signed a contract today, she signed twenty nine.
Who did Kesey apps?

Speaker 8 (01:41:44):
Well?

Speaker 5 (01:41:44):
That maker in twenty nine thirty eight?

Speaker 6 (01:41:47):
Wow?

Speaker 4 (01:41:48):
I think the girls can play for longer.

Speaker 5 (01:41:51):
I know there's a big season.

Speaker 4 (01:41:53):
There's big hits in that game with some big girls
that give big hits, but there's not as many.

Speaker 2 (01:42:00):
Yeah, that girl from Broncos, she's big, she's got that heart,
hard hitter. You know, yeah, I think you're.

Speaker 4 (01:42:10):
Talking about the Rooster's girl. She's a big, big girl. Anyway, anyways,
carry on with talking.

Speaker 5 (01:42:23):
Okay, so you reckon who's going to score for the Blues.

Speaker 2 (01:42:29):
Maybe Jess Surges number six, maybe Casey Apps.

Speaker 4 (01:42:36):
Yep, a good place.

Speaker 5 (01:42:38):
And the half back for New South was actually her
sister's actually playing for us this year.

Speaker 2 (01:42:44):
Oh so you know that girl that was Dallian Winner
of the Year, is she playing in any any.

Speaker 5 (01:42:52):
That's Olivia Heni.

Speaker 2 (01:42:54):
Oh lovely, she's actually playing this time. I just thought
it was odd that she didn't get picked.

Speaker 5 (01:42:58):
When she was left out of the Australian team at
the end of last year. That's just odd to me.

Speaker 2 (01:43:07):
That's that's like if I won the Golden Guitar and
I didn't get to play the Golden guitar.

Speaker 5 (01:43:12):
Sorry, any next, all right, so we're all going new
so far as except big Teas as always. But we
can't help we can't help that.

Speaker 4 (01:43:20):
We can't be the same. We can't all be the same.

Speaker 5 (01:43:24):
The NRL games will kick off on Friday night, the
early game at six.

Speaker 2 (01:43:29):
This till Thursday, all right.

Speaker 5 (01:43:30):
I got to think, yeah, my god, it'll be the
Sharks and the Eels to kick it off. The Sharks,
they do have one change. Cale Arrow returns from injury.
He comes straight back into the centers, which sees Maweni
Herody Robot. He also picked up an injury in this game,
and Brandon Hanley well, he actually returns from injury as well,

(01:43:51):
and Billy Burns returned his spot. T Wilton's still had injured.
For paramatter Um Charlie Go is onto an edge. That's
the only change from their win over the Tigers on
Easter Monday. Rob the Sharks, they they've gone into a
bit of a hole at the moment. Els Moses Mitchell,

(01:44:14):
Moses big difference. Do the Eels go back to back again?

Speaker 14 (01:44:18):
I think the.

Speaker 10 (01:44:19):
Sharks this time. I think, well, they'll come back there.
They're meant to be up there, you know, definitely the topic.
So I think this will be the game that they'll
they'll win. You know what I mean to start when
you get.

Speaker 4 (01:44:37):
Big team, say they are starting to climb now with
Moses back Brown at five eight, and then they've got
I think he's a great player.

Speaker 6 (01:44:50):
Walker coming on from the bench. So I think the
Warrior is going to miss miss him. But you know
those three players running running the show. I think param
are going to start winning.

Speaker 5 (01:45:04):
Coca. Who do you like? The Sharks of the Eels.

Speaker 2 (01:45:07):
Oh it's good. I'll make Tom Backers to soft foot.

Speaker 5 (01:45:12):
He's out.

Speaker 4 (01:45:15):
Whom Lomax?

Speaker 8 (01:45:21):
I don't know.

Speaker 2 (01:45:23):
I think it might have to go sharks. Maybe it's
a fun bloody art. Sharks not going well, Eels aren't
going well. I just go sharkies, just shaft, all right.

Speaker 5 (01:45:36):
The other game on Friday, it's the Arthur Beets and Cup.
It's the Roosters and the Dolphins. The Roosters haven't named
an unchanged line up from there win over US on
an Zac Day. The Dolphins, they do, welcome back Jeremy Marshall,
king from a leg laceration. Vlae Couci also returns from
concussion a couple of weeks ago. Uh and Kirt Donicue

(01:45:57):
returns on the bench and extra agon Josh Kerr. He's
been looking good recent weeks. They call him the microwave man.

Speaker 4 (01:46:04):
Now now tell us why.

Speaker 5 (01:46:11):
Apparently they put put a microwave in to make him
a bigger man. Okay, they wanted him to play basketball
when he was young, but he's old man. But he said, no,
I want to play football. Basketball is not my thing.
He's got the frame to play basketball.

Speaker 2 (01:46:28):
That's so interesting.

Speaker 5 (01:46:31):
The Roosters are the favorites.

Speaker 8 (01:46:33):
Just the big.

Speaker 5 (01:46:37):
Roosters work good against us. The Dolphins, I don't know
what happened to them. They led twenty eight ten as
they were looking good and they just collapsed.

Speaker 1 (01:46:45):
I know they.

Speaker 4 (01:46:47):
Uncle said before it's the the Wayne Bennett effect. Maybe, yeah,
where's that?

Speaker 5 (01:46:56):
Every games at Suncourt, every.

Speaker 4 (01:46:58):
Games at SUNCRP scra screw up a few tips. I
think the Roosters. I don't know why the Roosters are.
They've they've lost so many.

Speaker 6 (01:47:12):
Players as the brand new team, but they found these
youngsters and these youngsters are coming through Billy Billy Smith
in the straps. Yeah, I think the Roosters. I'll make
the Dolphins up a Sam call, right, I.

Speaker 10 (01:47:31):
Think Dolphins actually, because I think the couple of games
before that they won and during coming back you see
in the crowd as well too. I think we'll be
behind them. So yeah, I just it's always upset.

Speaker 4 (01:47:45):
So I don't know.

Speaker 10 (01:47:46):
Lately in the last x men the weeks as we've seen,
so I think maybe the Dolphins can do it because
I hate the Roosters and I hate the Roosters and
the Dragons and day.

Speaker 4 (01:47:54):
So I'll get the.

Speaker 5 (01:47:56):
Dolphins, Okay, Roosters or the Fins.

Speaker 2 (01:48:02):
I just go the Roosters.

Speaker 4 (01:48:04):
The hammer three tips in the.

Speaker 2 (01:48:12):
In the chain Tuesday, I have to wait till like Thursday.

Speaker 5 (01:48:18):
So the Saturday game. The first came on Saturday, the
Rabbits against the Knights. The Rabbits Latron Mitchell's out suspended.
I honestly don't know why. There was nothing in that tackle.
So Ray will bait you and eight and shifts.

Speaker 8 (01:48:32):
From the back roage in the centers.

Speaker 5 (01:48:35):
Jack White and will move to both he's the new captain.
Bud Saliv is the half back there. Talus Duncan will
start in the back row. Would you you can shifting
out to the centers. Leah Liam LeBlanc comes onto the
bench for the for the Rabbits. For the Knights. Now

(01:48:56):
they do welcome back Jacob sia Feti and they also
walking back Adam Elliott on the bench, which sees Tyrone
Thompson drop out of the seventeen as well as Thomas can't.
It's really hard to this one. The Rabbits, they showed
some signs against the The's development storm on entact day.

(01:49:19):
The Knights still struggling.

Speaker 4 (01:49:20):
They were Dio.

Speaker 5 (01:49:23):
They are awful at the moment. I'm gonna have to
go with the Rabbits the way they The Knights just
just can't get a point at the moment. They're struggling.

Speaker 4 (01:49:32):
I scored sixteen last week, didn't they twelve?

Speaker 5 (01:49:34):
They got twelve twelve.

Speaker 6 (01:49:36):
Yeah, but that's the only scored like twenty two points
in the last five weeks.

Speaker 4 (01:49:43):
Yeah, one of these you can't you can't go. You
can't go the I can't go the Knights and that thing.

Speaker 10 (01:49:48):
One of their tries was to kick the hit one
of the Dolphins players when over the line, new Castle died.

Speaker 5 (01:49:55):
Yeah, so you're you're you're going to South to big team.

Speaker 4 (01:50:01):
It's one of those games where I don't really care,
but I'd like to say I'd like to see the
Nights wins so they don't go above the Dragons. But yeah,
I can't see the Knights. The Knights picking up too
many points against the house.

Speaker 5 (01:50:18):
Okakay, I love what that goes.

Speaker 4 (01:50:23):
Camera just goes alone the play. This is crazy. I
think I'm one of those gigs we're talking about all.

Speaker 2 (01:50:32):
I'm like, that's the only way I can get and
I'm in bed.

Speaker 4 (01:50:35):
And then like, oh, we're all in bed. Yeah, it's big.

Speaker 1 (01:50:46):
Right.

Speaker 4 (01:50:47):
Next, Actually, what's next? So you go, what's the next game?

Speaker 2 (01:50:51):
Yes, yes, I'm going all right.

Speaker 5 (01:50:56):
The next game is at five point thirty on Saturday.
It is the Warriors and the our boys. The Warriors tomorrow.
Martin comes in on the bench, which sees well, yeah,
that's the only change the Warriors have made. The Cowboys
are unchanged from their big win over the Titans. Both

(01:51:18):
teams in good form. Coko, what do you like in
this one? Warriors are the Cowboys.

Speaker 8 (01:51:25):
I'm the.

Speaker 4 (01:51:30):
Big Teamah, Warriors are flying high at the moment. I
think they run second or third. Yeah, I'm gonna go
the Wires.

Speaker 9 (01:51:40):
Well, they get some good support, don't they in Queensland
and Brisbane.

Speaker 5 (01:51:46):
A lot of supporters up there. It will be close one. Yeah, Sunday.
The first game on Sunday is the Titans and the Bulldogs.
Now the Titans, they do welcome back Clicehass and big
to little little faster back. I think one last the

(01:52:13):
slo comes in.

Speaker 4 (01:52:16):
I just I just can't. I just can't get hold
of the Titans, mate. They're more inconsistent than we are.
They've got I've got a great side. They're missing Kinney
and and they're missing foreign as well. But I don't
think a j is a great player. Is a great player,

(01:52:38):
but I think he's a fullback or a center or something.
I just can't get behind the Titans.

Speaker 5 (01:52:47):
The Bulldogs have made some changes, some force changes the Bulldogs.

Speaker 4 (01:52:51):
I'm waiting for the burst.

Speaker 5 (01:52:55):
That was that was a bad loss last week?

Speaker 4 (01:52:58):
Did it burst last week?

Speaker 2 (01:53:00):
Yeah?

Speaker 8 (01:53:01):
And then they look.

Speaker 5 (01:53:04):
So Badlely Hayward's been named a five. Daniel Slukofa comes
in to suspender, Josh Curran and Curtis Morran and Blake
Tat come onto the bench for the Bulldogs. So you like,
do you think the Bulldogs will win this one? Then
big t sounds.

Speaker 6 (01:53:20):
Yeah, you have to the They're the star side of
the competition. All that last week. They did get done.
They got done, They got done really good.

Speaker 4 (01:53:33):
I like that game. I watched that game and Steve
Mitton still watching. I like him, mate, But yeah, I
think I'm going to go to go. The Dragon are
going to go to the Bulldogs.

Speaker 10 (01:53:45):
Quickly yes, I agree a big t it kills me
of the times I love watching them. They can score
two tries in five minutes when they can conceive two
tries at five minutes.

Speaker 4 (01:53:53):
Exactly right, I think they're I think they're below us
in in four.

Speaker 10 (01:54:00):
I mean dogs with you if to lose a game,
right the first game away from that sort of stuff.
But bubble maybe, but I don't think bubbles burst. But
their defense has been pretty good, so I imagine that
you can come back, come back better, and they've probably
got the Titans at the right time. I just don't
think the Titans are good enough but too inconsistent of
the big D sense, So I sadly have to say

(01:54:23):
bulldogs because I love to say Titans just to get
at Steve Belly.

Speaker 4 (01:54:27):
But anyway, I'm just going to say, I'm just going
to say, Scooby added one word too many in that
take the it out, and that's.

Speaker 5 (01:54:40):
All right. Then the next game on Sunday, it's Yep,
you're going the Bulldogs too. Yep, that's going. That's one
man Sunday, the four five game, it's the replay of
the twenty twenty three Grand Final, the Panthers and the
Bronco is probably one of the most was the most
one of the most bizarre Green Finals in recent the Panthers,

(01:55:02):
I can't work. Are they done? Are they done? There's
they are no finals for them this year? There are
so actually they aren't. Trent Toler comes onto the bench
for bradch Niner, who drops out of the seventeen for
the Broncos. They do welcome back to Jordan Ricky from

(01:55:22):
an infection, which sees Tysons movie dropped to the extended bench.
Worrying signs for the Panthers, big team, worrying.

Speaker 4 (01:55:30):
Who's worrying signs with the Panthers. They've lost six games
this year. In twenty twenty three they only lost six
games all season, and last year they had lost seven
games all season. So they're in They're in trouble up there,
up and down. Well, they're not for the para around
a stadium. They haven't got a home ground this year,
and I think that's a bit of I think that's

(01:55:52):
a part of their problem. That's been a problem too
yet they haven't.

Speaker 6 (01:55:55):
Got a home ground. But yeah, they've been terrible. And
I know I've said before that Mary is still in
England and Nathan, he's got to have blue ones.

Speaker 4 (01:56:08):
But yeah, I can't. I can't go Penrith.

Speaker 10 (01:56:12):
We lost so many players just over the X amount
of a couple of the last couple of years. It's
just taking his tile on now. It's not on for
a soccer baron the background, a grade soccer team, and
you lose so many players and you've got only five
or six A grade players in your team. You're gonna
put eleven on the park. You want fifteen or sixteen,

(01:56:33):
you know with subs. You can't win with five with
genuine six A grade players and the rest of the
B grade and Z grade.

Speaker 4 (01:56:39):
So that's what's happened to him and whatever. They just
they don't have the depth anymore.

Speaker 5 (01:56:48):
As you said before, have you said before? Father times
caught up with them, like they've been up for a
long time, but the success has got to them now.

Speaker 4 (01:56:56):
There is getting he's missing. Mary, m'm don't be surprised.

Speaker 5 (01:57:01):
That he could happen, you know, but do you like
the Broncos in this one?

Speaker 4 (01:57:09):
Rob?

Speaker 1 (01:57:09):
Oh?

Speaker 10 (01:57:10):
Yeah, I think after that last game that was one
of the best halves of football see from a half
back in the conditions a game manager in Reynolds and
I mean that was unbelievable.

Speaker 9 (01:57:19):
I mean that kick that he did out to the winger.
The winger was running onto the ball and he caught it.
You couldn't have placed it any better. I mean, he's
a freak. That was a freakish performance. That was up
there with Stuart and Langer and all the greatest half packers.
Joey John's I know he's thirty four, but Jesus love

(01:57:40):
to have you in the drainings for a.

Speaker 5 (01:57:41):
Year or so. Yep. And you like the Broncos as well, Cocoa.

Speaker 2 (01:57:48):
Are you yes, bron coach. You know, we've got to
remember Panthers did win for and so they will have
to get knocked off sometime and so because this year
said it, so be it. But you know, really they
the storm. You know, as long as we keep going
up and not going down.

Speaker 4 (01:58:08):
We should be exactly right, exactly right.

Speaker 9 (01:58:11):
I just want to say to Christmas, I think Big
T was on the mark with Nathan Cleary. He's not
getting as much Nooky as he used to.

Speaker 4 (01:58:18):
So round, that's the important game we've got to look at.

Speaker 5 (01:58:28):
This is probably the game of the round. It's the
storm and the Raiders. That's the sixth the storm. They
do well. Back to Kama Kamika, which sees Lazarus Filippo
dropped to the extenter bench. The Raiders are no surprises,

(01:58:51):
they are unchanged, Coco. Both teams going well. The Raiders
they're they're they're flying on them, the Raiders. This young
very young lad a side.

Speaker 2 (01:59:02):
Yes, oh it's so hard because but you know what's
interesting that this game is no manner. Whoever wins, the
coaches will go to whoever the winners dressing room and
sit down and have b I think that's I think
that Yeah, I think that's great. Yeah, so that's good Camera, Coco,

(01:59:29):
I know, thank you mate. I mean this point everyone,
I'm in bed, so you know I move around.

Speaker 6 (01:59:36):
Okay, Can I suggest? Can I suggest next week a segment,
a segment in bed with Coco. We'll example.

Speaker 9 (01:59:51):
Now please stay gets too to be involved with that segment.

Speaker 2 (01:59:57):
This will be a good game, he will be that's
such a in your face, as you.

Speaker 4 (02:00:01):
Said, second best game of the round. It will be, yes,
second best around. Oh so hard camera or Melbourne? What
are you ready?

Speaker 6 (02:00:11):
Yeah?

Speaker 2 (02:00:12):
Yeah, and I can't just any time wish out there?

Speaker 8 (02:00:18):
What it.

Speaker 4 (02:00:24):
Whoever, when's this one go second? Anyway?

Speaker 2 (02:00:27):
Yeah, I'll picked the Raiders, but you know, yeah, if
they win, it's happy life. If they don't win, all
it is that the third coach.

Speaker 5 (02:00:42):
All right, right, a real.

Speaker 10 (02:00:45):
Tough one for me because all right, Harry Grant obviously
him not being there is a big loss.

Speaker 4 (02:00:54):
And camera.

Speaker 9 (02:00:55):
The only thing I can say is that first half
against the Dolphins was very actually, so maybe against Melbourne
if they turn up like that, it could be a
different game.

Speaker 10 (02:01:06):
But I'll say Melbourne because I think Melbourne's going to
be either at the end of the year in the
Grand Finals, I think Melbourne.

Speaker 5 (02:01:19):
Yep, I'm going to go Melbourne in a very close one.
But the most important game for us is on Saturday
night at seven forty five, on the final game of
Manic on Saturday of the triple header. It's the Tigers
and the Dragons. Now we'll stay with you.

Speaker 3 (02:01:39):
May yes you is that for coc Marty says yes,
yes to big t suggestion.

Speaker 2 (02:01:54):
I have fans, guys, you know.

Speaker 5 (02:01:58):
You have a fan club, Coco.

Speaker 4 (02:02:00):
Yeah, President, he's met Mary as well.

Speaker 2 (02:02:10):
Yeah, yep, still have the photo, Still have the photograph.

Speaker 4 (02:02:20):
Anyway. Anyway, is going to.

Speaker 2 (02:02:23):
Yeah, it's going to be the Dragons, and I'm hoping
it's not close, but two points two points.

Speaker 5 (02:02:35):
Score.

Speaker 2 (02:02:37):
I'm hoping good old l k T. I cannot I'm
not going to let be disrespected for l k T
A given props. And I hope also hope that there's
a bit of discussion on the field as well with
the players. Oh, oh my god, I think I think
I've gotten to like.

Speaker 5 (02:03:02):
I can go go.

Speaker 4 (02:03:05):
Big toe.

Speaker 10 (02:03:05):
I know he said not close, but Sir George, by one,
Carl Flanagan to get a field goal, and I think
Tyrrel Slade has scored at any time.

Speaker 4 (02:03:13):
You heard it from me.

Speaker 9 (02:03:14):
Carl Flanagan will get the field goal. And he's kicked too.

Speaker 5 (02:03:18):
Turn career.

Speaker 4 (02:03:20):
Yeah, so there you you might know that this is
kick two. Nice.

Speaker 6 (02:03:25):
Well, if you're going to go like that, Rob, if
you're gonna go like that, I want to say. I
want to say Flanagan's going to kick a field goal.
Dragons are going, Dragons are gonna win by nine. I
don't know how to kick the film. Maybe halftime, maybe
halftime to go ahead. Twenty four sixteen. VL Holmes will
score a try anytime try Luciano. Lucianae'll just pop one

(02:03:48):
to him and Sloan will score a late try to
make it twenty four, twenty five, sixteen, Oh my god,
what do you reckon?

Speaker 4 (02:04:06):
Jest?

Speaker 5 (02:04:08):
I will go this is a really tough one. We
don't want it to go to Golden point. We are
hopeless at golden point. We don't want to get that far.

Speaker 4 (02:04:18):
I don't know what every game is talking about that,
but it's all over your screen.

Speaker 5 (02:04:24):
I don't know.

Speaker 4 (02:04:26):
Is he on the crack, something's on his screen.

Speaker 5 (02:04:31):
I'm going to go Dragons by two. I'm with Cocaine there.
I think it'll be very close. We're gonna have to
be much better than the performance against the Roosters. If
we turn up with that same attitude, they're going to
belt us. They are going to belt us. Get Dragons
by two. I'm going to go like and keep Tobby
to get his first Nurroll try at some stage. But

(02:04:56):
and yeah, Dragons by two, and I'm thinking I will
have a big game up at sun Care. He will
make up for what he did on Anzac Day. And yeah,
I'm expecting the Dragons, so hopefully I'm not expecting them.
I just hope they have. I do have a better
performance in this game, but my confidence is not there.

(02:05:19):
I wouldn't surprise me if we did lose this game.
But yeah, that's thanks everyone for joining us tonight. You've
been watching The Man Dragons podcast sponsored by Complete Warehouse
Solutions Cokay, you can sign us off tonight.

Speaker 2 (02:05:36):
Okay, all right, Dragons fans.

Speaker 4 (02:05:40):
Like, who is I'm got to get rid of him?

Speaker 2 (02:05:43):
It's fine. I'm just I'm not going to It's just
one cloud. Let's go ready, Come on, Dragons fans, fire.

Speaker 4 (02:05:50):
Up, yay.

Speaker 5 (02:05:55):
And see you again on Sunday.
