Speaker 1 (00:02):
The story telling the Mad Dragon that my father left
my side, but you were four fans certain Naddy is
ductious put for the dragon's pride.

Speaker 2 (00:18):
Shining to Tony Dress. That history.

Speaker 3 (00:42):
Podcast, that's how we jump.

Speaker 4 (00:45):
Dragon Stop that Dragon's Mad Dragons, That's the way we
came the Mad Dragons.

Speaker 3 (00:56):
Troma Dragon Man's fo.

Speaker 5 (00:59):
Up, We'll get a Dragons fans and welcome to the
Mad Dragons Podcast, brought to you by a Complete Warehouse Solutions,
the family owned and operated business with more than one
hundred years of combined experience.

Speaker 6 (01:14):
Jeffany's team are more than pleased assist in your Sydney
warehouse refurbishment bo fit out project based on Commas Driving Lake,
Laura getting touch for the team. On four to five
seven one Brazier, So much God, Good evening, Everyone, good evening,

(02:08):
and the John mentioned some other guy that said he
was first on I'm not sure who that was. On Tuesday,
the panel asked the question which Dragon's team would turn
up asked and answered thirty eight to sixteen at home.
There were so many things to like about that performance,

(02:30):
but perhaps the most impressive thing is that we actually
weren't that good. It was another game where we completed
at just seventy two percent. There were great passages that
the ten minutes just before or just after half time
was phenomenal. We put on four tried and blew the
game apart. But what puts the biggest mile on my

(02:52):
face is that who were clunky at times. We made
a lot of errors. We have a lot of room
for improvement and still one easily. It's theirs to me
that when we get it all right, there's no one
that can lead us. We will get better throughout the
course of this season. A lot of heroes, maybe a

(03:13):
few villains to choose from two looking forward to seeing
who has man has any sights. I don't think he
quite knows yet either, but let's see see what he
goes me.

Speaker 7 (03:23):
It's down you get bus, you knocks out to U
front row. I can you tell us around that next
can get out down with herody R Hero's.

Speaker 8 (03:46):
Work rock, Yes, thank you, Donny. Heroes and Villains Round six,
The sinking of the Titanick. You see what I did there?
The dragons are back and how the continuity that dragons

(04:12):
fans have been begging for finally eventuated. And the Graveyard
of Wollongong continues for the poor hapless Titans. So many
good performances like the Dragon's defense. I wasn't sure if
I was going to be able to split it to

(04:32):
a Pilotto with his double slain with his Flannigan and
Illis finally showing something, Sully having his best game in
a long time. Who heard a pick?

Speaker 6 (04:45):
Now?

Speaker 8 (04:45):
I finally decided, after more deliberation than the Bunker, to
go with someone who's born the brunt of a lot
of my frustration over the last couple of years, and
that is Blake Block Laurie. Now, stay with me here.

(05:05):
When he came on, we were just holding on to
a two point d. By the time he goes off,
we're up by over twenty. Now you cannot tell me
that that is a coincidence. Twenty three minutes of game time,
nine runs, one hundred meters, thirteen tackles, zero misses. Well

(05:29):
you can, but I won't believe it anyway. Also got
to give it up for a man who is continuing
the fine tradition of Redheads in the Red b including
the late great Lance Thompson, Ben Craig and even Craig Stableson.
So that's an Eagan thirteen runs, one hundred and nineteen meters,

(05:52):
one line break, forty seven that's right, forty seven tackles
with only two missed. A fine performance which was rewarded
with his first try in the NRL. Very very well deserved.
So we've done the good stuff now. Unfortunately we got
to go on to the bad now. Unfortunately, I can't

(06:16):
give the reps any shit this week because, if I'm
honest with myself, they didn't commit any major scenes against this.
In fact, I think, in fact, we were actually the
beneficiaries of at least two forward passes that went unseen
and unpunished. I can, however, direct my rap towards the

(06:38):
NRL Scheduling Committee or whatever they call themselves, the scheduling
a Friday game in Wollongong at six pm. How the
hell are we supposed to get a decent crowd for
this game when only the Illwarra locals would be able
to finish work and get there in time. Who the
hell thought that one up? Although it might have been

(07:02):
from the best I mean considering that, I mean, we
played out a packed out Cogger against the Dogs and
were absolutely shocking, So maybe the crowd isn't the factor
that it probably should be. But regardless, I reckon from
the NRL schedule on committee. That's a pretty crap going.
So for that reason, screw you NRL schedule Committee, and

(07:24):
good on your blocker. Hope to see a lot more
of that in the coming weeks. And before I forget Liam,
I know you're watching, I'm also giving you the finger
for daring to suggest that I appoint myself a villain
for not being able to come up with one new

(07:48):
young boy is to go and learn the rules a
bit more. Even Sutton makes you look good. You absolute
plot up in central missionary position.

Speaker 6 (08:02):
Fantastic mate, And we bring in the rest of the
panel tonight. We've got hands Man who you've you've just
heard from. We've also got got big team up there
at the top. But unfortunately it looks like we're going
to be playing with twelve the remainder of the game.
It's only a bit of a no show to beyond.

(08:25):
I've seen him a couple of messages he said he
was all good, but it hasn't shown up yet. Maybe
you'll jump on a little bit later. But Billy the King,
returning from his sinus last week remarkable recovery mat.

Speaker 9 (08:41):
Yeah, still still kills, but you know, do anything for
the Dragon's podcast, Mad Podcast.

Speaker 6 (08:49):
Well, but people, people don't know that I'm not actually joking.
You literally rolled your ankle last week in.

Speaker 9 (08:54):
That Yeah yeah, yeah, just playing some bad I don't
even know, don't even remember.

Speaker 6 (09:02):
How I probably did it.

Speaker 9 (09:03):
I can recall, I mean someone stepped on something.

Speaker 6 (09:08):
The blue whistol obviously makes you forget about it.

Speaker 9 (09:10):
Mate, Yeah for sure. But they said for seven weeks,
so I should be good.

Speaker 6 (09:19):
Five to seven weeks. You're better than Adam Reynolds. Mate,
back back after one, all right, Yeah, let's get into it.
The Mad Dragons Vodcast Player of the Year voting, it
was actually really tough for the judges. I know everybody

(09:41):
everybody talks about the ego pill An Egan, but it
was a pretty tough week for the bounders to come
up with who they thought was the best. There were
actually six different players, so we've got eleven judges. Stick
different players were given Men of the Match across the
eleven judges, so it was pretty well spread out. And

(10:06):
the soups that were given Men in the Match awarded
by someone don't actually feature in our top three so
there'll be a couple of people that will just not
be too happy with the democratic process here, I'm sure.
But the pedals three votes went to the Boom Rookie Sensation,

(10:27):
two votes to the Moneyman. Christian took a lot too,
and third in the voting was actually a tie between
the Valentine Holmes and Blind Half Carl Flanagan.

Speaker 3 (10:37):
Wow.

Speaker 2 (10:39):
So that was the.

Speaker 6 (10:41):
Pedals three two one as Man. He'll be back in
a second, and so moments of the match. You're on
the Mad Dragons podcast, brought to you by Complete Warehouse Solutions,
and Big T might go to you first of all,
the Stagans. They've released their exact jersey and this is

(11:04):
the jersey that they like it. They come out with,
what are your thoughts?

Speaker 3 (11:08):
I like it, I love it.

Speaker 10 (11:09):
It's a it's a historic jersey. What that the V
stands for in this jersey is Lance corporal and Lance
corporal stripes. I can't remember the Lance corporal that played
for the Dragons, but his name is on that jersey
and on the back of the jersey his squadron number
and also the other eight soldiers that were in his division.

(11:33):
They got caught by the Japanese and he was he
was beheaded by the Japanese.

Speaker 3 (11:37):
So I love the jersey. It's fantastic.

Speaker 10 (11:40):
It's a commemory jersey and z that it was the
soldier was a lance corporal and that's what the v
emulates in this v on the jersey.

Speaker 6 (11:50):
Ye, so that's the ranks givron for the rank of lance. Yeah,
it's the same as the collar. There's been a lot
of comments about the collar. The collar is the color
and style of collar when lance corporal walk late with
playing for the dragons. So that's that's the reason for that.

(12:14):
There's reasons for all the things that are on the jersey.
I've got to say, when when I first saw it
and when I first thought up on my third feed,
my first thought was, that's just our normal jersey. Our
club has done nothing, and I think that's probably that
that's that's probably the issue though. The issue is that,

(12:36):
like you know the story, you've read the story.

Speaker 3 (12:38):
That's exactly right story between not many matter.

Speaker 10 (12:43):
If you're a dragon supporter and you want to learn
the history about the dragons, you read everything.

Speaker 3 (12:47):
You can find. If you're a dragon supporter.

Speaker 6 (12:50):
About ten percent of the people that are watching are
going to have read the story. They're going to know
the story. Most people are going to look at that
and going they've done nothing. It's it's respectful.

Speaker 3 (13:03):
Yeah, that's right. Yeah, I understand. But I like the jersey.
They could have put.

Speaker 10 (13:08):
They could have put something down the bottom of a
few more puppies or something, but I like it.

Speaker 6 (13:12):
Yeah, I love the story behind the jersey. But not
everyone's going to know it. Most people are just going
to see a jersey and think, well that the dragons
have done absolutely buggerall and have run out. And I've
seen other teams do these sorts of subtle jerseys where
it's not obvious to everyone that's that's watching. I think

(13:37):
the Roosters might have done one a couple of years
ago that that was it just looked like a rooster's jersey.
But you had to get up close to to see
the you know that there was words and lettering and
different things in in the jersey. You had to be
up close to serve. From a distance, it just looked
like a normal jersey. That might not have been the Roosters,
might have been somebody else. But yeah, again, they got

(13:59):
absolutely take into town because of that, and that that
that's a comment there from Jesse is exactly what I've
seen a lot the that's to me, that's the that's
the problem with Anzac Day and the Anzac round is
that's what people expect. They want to see. They want

(14:19):
to see the big symbols that they associate with Anzac Day.
To me, this jersey is exactly what Anzac Day should
be all about. It's not about you, it's not about
the people out there watching. It's a It's about paying
respect to people like Lance Corporal walk lay H. You know,
I think that what.

Speaker 11 (14:39):
The dragons have done is exactly what we should be
doing for Anzac Day, not a red v made of poppies,
because that makes everybody else feel good.

Speaker 3 (14:50):
Like this is.

Speaker 6 (14:51):
It's a great jersey. I think they pay proper respect
to soldiers, Emine and Seamen. Yes, I said, Semen, grow up.

Speaker 3 (15:02):
You're the one that brought it up.

Speaker 6 (15:07):
He tells the story of lands Corporal Stanley walk like
he suffer references the mission where he got taken prisoner,
was tortured, and ultimately died saving the life of one
of the eight members of his crew. There's reference to
his dragon's player number. He's rank out of the names

(15:28):
of the eight people that were on Operation Copper with him,
with seven of them paying the ultimate price. There's his
unit on the jersey as well, just on the on
the collar, and it's got the insignia on the back
of the collar, which is coincidentally the same unit that
I served with when I was in the arms. So
to me personally, this is a very special and Zac

(15:50):
Day jersey. I think it's an absolute winner, but I
can understand that not everybody is going to love it.
Allen men. Mark Poyne joins the board, replacing Martin Newman.
Some are saying that this is once again just jobs
for the boys. Do you agree with that sentiment or

(16:12):
do you think this is a good appointment.

Speaker 8 (16:18):
Look, I've got to be honest, I do not agree
with that sentiment at all. Mark Coin is a Dragon's
legend for a start. He has business acumen, which is
what that I can say for a few of the
board members Peter Dowst included, don't know what his credentials are.

(16:41):
You must just be a good ask kister. No, I've
got no problems with him being on the board whatsoever.
In fact, I'm I actually wish he'd actually replaced Dowis
rather than replace Newman. I prefer Newman and going to
be there then.

Speaker 6 (17:00):
He doubts. Yeah, yeah, I think I tend to agree. Mate.
I got in got into it with a few people
saying it was jobs for the boys. And so that's
just such a it's such a cowardly throwaway line, like what,
tell me, tell me in what way Coin is not

(17:21):
not qualified for this role? Tell me he does, doesn't
have you know that the right credentials to be a
to be a member of the board. You're absolutely does.
He absolutely does.

Speaker 8 (17:33):
Is an ex football for a start, so he knows
what he's talking about. He's got business like him in.
So where's where's the problem.

Speaker 6 (17:43):
Yeah, Now, I just think it's a it's a cheap
throwaway line that you see far too often. And uh,
you know, what's what's the alternative? Do you wanna do?
You want to instead get get people in that that
hate the Dragons. I would much prefer to have somebody
that loves the club as you know that they've got
the club's best interest at heart, because they love the

(18:05):
club as much as the fans do. And and you know,
he's a qualified bloke he's a smart operator. He's a
successful businessman, has pointed out in the comments to buy
a few people. I think there's just a couple out
there that may pull their heads in a little bit.

Speaker 8 (18:21):
So, Donnie, can you just pull up that comment that
some guy called Liam Fallon's just just put up there.
You just put that up for a second.

Speaker 6 (18:31):
Big, big Tea has been controlled on this bit. I
keep trying to put it up and take it away.
I put it up, down, down, Okay.

Speaker 8 (18:47):
I'm sort of pissed off that he's saying that because
it means that I've got a buddy agree with him,
hates agreeing with Raham. But when he posts that sort
of thing, I have choice. I've gotta I've got to
go along with that one. That's well.

Speaker 6 (19:07):
A cat drive pinch Outh and finch out with the CEO. Mate.

Speaker 10 (19:10):
We've been trying to hasn't he hasn't he got some
sort of clause, has got some sort of.

Speaker 8 (19:17):
He's a nebo appointment, pure and simple. He's only he's
only there because of his old man.

Speaker 6 (19:25):
Yeah, I don't know. He's been there a long time.
I think when you're a board member, you don't It's
it's like a queen your kind of it's kind of
a job for life, and you have to die in
office or decide you want to step down. I don't
think you can.

Speaker 8 (19:41):
The constitutions set up, it's impossible to get.

Speaker 3 (19:43):
Rid of the bastard. Yeah, that's right, Well he set
it up.

Speaker 8 (19:48):
Many many people have tried. Many groups have tried. They
just can't get rid of the bastards. No chan H
Jesse changed out to BB. I might agree with you.

Speaker 6 (20:03):
Yeah, well it's the same thing, mate in the crown
a BB just in a fancy bottle, mate, exactly, all right,
a few references. Billy wasn't alive for he just don't
know what these old colors are talking about.

Speaker 8 (20:21):
I'd love to have a crowning.

Speaker 6 (20:24):
I love that.

Speaker 10 (20:26):
It sounds like the old man's a dragon supporter. Do
you have to learn mem when your bill a man
a dragon supporter?

Speaker 6 (20:37):
Yeah, you would have learned all the.

Speaker 10 (20:39):
Old old scenarios from that, when you're the old catchphrases
ouse doused.

Speaker 6 (20:45):
And yeah, I see those signs.

Speaker 10 (20:49):
I used to like the gs T side wherever that
went to George Greats and George team.

Speaker 3 (20:56):
That's right. Yeah, it was very good. Some of the summer.

Speaker 10 (20:58):
Some of the some are rough people put up absolutely fantastic,
especially back in the twenty ten era.

Speaker 6 (21:06):
Someone, someone in the someone in the comments will know
the bloke that made that sign's got a new one
that that's going around your seat all the games now,
So he's that and got a new one. I did
see it somewhere, but I'm sure something in the comments
will know what the news sign sign says. But yeah,
something a little bit more relevant. The gsto all.

Speaker 10 (21:28):
Blay, long time, long time ago, Billy Billy would remember
jest back the now.

Speaker 6 (21:39):
Anyway, we're gonna have a four hours show if we
keep going around in circles like this. So the next
part of the agenda Billy Raising the Bar Foundation. So
before we I ask you this question, we might just
have a bit of a listen to what Raising the
Bar Foundation is all about. They were raising money for
this at the game on Friday.

Speaker 12 (22:02):
Chin, who are our fifty to fifty charity Raffle partners
for a Round six against the Titans. Mate, you want
to tell us a bit about the Raising the Bar Foundation.
How you guys started up?

Speaker 13 (22:10):
Yeah, sure, mate, So we started in twenty nineteen out
of his oil or your local restaurant up in Kira
Street here. We started initially as Amend's mental health group,
the Barstal Brothers, and we transformed into Raising the bar
Foundation that has a number of different initiatives now including
Barstal Brothers as well for men in the local community.
We also have another initiative called Healthy Hospitality where we

(22:31):
train hospitality workers in how to manage stress and manage
dealing in such a tough industry and we train venues
all throughout New South Wales in that program. And we
also have our Veterans initiative which includes Walk with Us
Kakoda where we take veterans and civilians over to Pup
New Guinea and walk the Kakoda track together in a
real tailored experience that's built around being a leadership program

(22:52):
for veterans in our community as well.

Speaker 12 (22:54):
And what is I guess the focus of the program.
What made you want to start up Raising the Barth Foundation.

Speaker 13 (23:00):
Look, we wanted to start because we noticed there's big
gaps in certain communities out there that we could really help.
First of all, being men age kind of thirty to
sixty is a high impact area for poor mental health
and so we wanted to be able to do something
to provide a means for connection, to fight against isolation,
to bring people together, to bring communities together. So that's
really where it started. And Lachlan, the founder of the

(23:21):
charity as well, is a veteran, so being involved in
those veteran affairs and being able to help, you know,
veterans of all ages be able to connect and be
part of you know, sub branches around the area as well,
it was really important. So yeah, just a sense of community.
It's really important for us to bring people back together
and try and get some of those in person connections happening.

Speaker 12 (23:40):
And how can people help the foundation help support it?

Speaker 6 (23:42):
Sure?

Speaker 13 (23:42):
Well, Look, we're always after looking for sponsors of course,
and volunteers. We cook weekly Bunnings, barbecues, we're out here
with the Dragon's volunteer and cell and raffle tickets, so
any kind of volunteers like that, and we're always looking
for corporate sponsorship and corporate people to get involved in
the in the local area as well.

Speaker 6 (24:02):
There we have it, Billy, I know, I know one
of our our panel members, Bennie O'Brian, he hates when
we talk about anything that's not footy related. But how
important is it for the club to be making connections
and raising awareness for the things like this within our community?
I think is great.

Speaker 9 (24:22):
You know, there's a lot of people out there that
struggling with mental health and stress and stuff, so whether
they're connected with Dragons and stuff.

Speaker 6 (24:30):
Is really good.

Speaker 11 (24:32):
You know.

Speaker 9 (24:33):
It's just it brings the community together and it's a
sense of you know, now I explained Draions have just
been on the up with this sort of stuff like
years like two, three, four years ago under Griffin, I
don't think we would have done this sort of stuff.
So it's good to say that we're getting out there

(24:54):
and helping our community out.

Speaker 6 (24:58):
Yeah, yeah, en always fantastic. It's just a little little
partnerships to this like this, you know, raising awareness of
these things that exist within our community. And if if
people laugh struggling, then they've got There's a lot of
different avenues, a lot of different pathways you can go down.
Bar stool Brothers to me, sounds like something I wouldn't

(25:19):
mind being involved in either, just you know, gone sitting
down on the bath door with you know, your dragon's
brother and having a.

Speaker 3 (25:26):
Brutal and any brother, any brother.

Speaker 6 (25:31):
Yeah, well I'm just talking about it for the dragons,
but I mean dragons area. So sitting now with your
dragon's brother and having a chat and you know, a
beer and you know, might might be just might just
be a little thing, have a quick chat and you
might say someone's life like it is that serious and uh,

(25:52):
you know that little bit of a bit of connection
in the community can can make all the difference. Big team. Yes,
extension for Christian Tool or two for one year. Obviously
everyone loves CT but were disappointed that it was only
a one year extension.

Speaker 1 (26:13):
Yeah.

Speaker 10 (26:13):
I would have liked to say it to give him
a two year extension of twenty twenty seven, end of
twenty twenty six now, but if he gaz up one
year at a time, if he gets another one of
the dragons, he'll get you'll get a two year contract.

Speaker 3 (26:25):
Yeah. I would have liked to see two. Yeah.

Speaker 6 (26:31):
Yeah, I think that he's a guy you know, Fox
bought and now that he is statistically the best winger
in the entire competition.

Speaker 3 (26:39):
Yeah, I read that. Yeah, I was.

Speaker 6 (26:43):
I was watching it. That's that's Fox were trying to
present this idea to Melvin Inger and melman Inger was
not buying it. At all. He's like, yeah, maybe based
on those statistics, but there's a lot of great wingers
in our competition. But still he's gone pretty pretty damn well.

(27:07):
All right, before the game started as men, Dylan Egan
aimed to start with Luciano Lei Lua reverting back to
the bench, will talk a bit more about Egan. You've
already spoken about Egan yourself, but is Luciano Lua a
bench forward for the rest of the season.

Speaker 8 (27:27):
Yes, well, based on that performance, I think he's got
to be. I think he's got to be. I think
he's more of a more of an impact back rower,
if there is such a thing than a than a startup.
When you saw the way that Dylan Egan was absolutely
killing it, and then you got do you able to

(27:51):
have someone like what or when he when he came on,
he had an immediate impact. Yes, I think he actually
laid on the pass for rad Well home. So when
he when he's quite his try so No, I would
dead say keep him as a as a bench player.

Speaker 3 (28:11):
Yeah.

Speaker 6 (28:13):
Yeah, well, Billy, is that something that you agree with,
because I know you you thought Luchila had an absolute warner.

Speaker 9 (28:22):
Yeah, I had him as my man of the match,
so never may disagree with me, but you know, he
came and he got involved in the second an third try.

Speaker 6 (28:32):
I don't know if he ran a decoy or he.

Speaker 3 (28:33):
Put homes through to give and for homes to give the.

Speaker 9 (28:38):
Past, but he came, like has Man said, he came
on immediate impact streat and I hadn't seen that from
him all seasons when he started. So you know, I
think if we can keep that system going for sure,
one hundred percent, I love it.

Speaker 6 (28:57):
Yeah. Yeah, well I think he said going to be
on the bench for a little while after that performance
from from Dylane. Again he sort of locked down. That
guy defensively did everything that he was supposed to do,
was dangerous with his touches of the ball. So I
think that he had had a very good game.

Speaker 10 (29:14):
I think might for game Donny, sorry sorry you got
to talk to me anyway. Well think it might be
going game for game anyway, Like different games will play
start in the game anyway, so they'll be on and
off the bench all year.

Speaker 6 (29:26):
Yeah, I don't necessarily think that's fair. I think with
second rowers as they play the for eighty minutes. So
I think Luchill provides a good impact off the bench.
I can't. I can't think of a scenario where you
would change that. I get that for the middle forwards,
but yeah, certainly, you know, for Looch, I think for

(29:49):
now he's going to be he's going to be to
be that impact player off the bench. And if he
can keep having an impact like this game and I think, yeah,
all the better for it.

Speaker 3 (29:58):
Yeah, big too.

Speaker 6 (30:01):
The first half hour was it was a bit of
a grind. But one thing that we spoke about on
the show last week that I noticed had improved, and
that was offloading. Toby Counton and Jack de Bellin with
four offloads each, three from Jay and Seward overall overall
seventeen offloads. We were playing some footy off the back

(30:22):
of that second phase play. Do you think the Flano
watched the show and implemented our strategy or great mind
to think alike?

Speaker 10 (30:30):
For sure, positive, absolutely positive that it watched our show.
Is it's taken all that good?

Speaker 3 (30:39):
It is?

Speaker 10 (30:40):
But with offloads, Donnie, I'd like to see because we
had about ten to two offloads in the first first
half or something it was, and the two offloads came
from David for Fieda. But yeah, I'd like to see
gains and losses with our floats because a lot of
our floads go back and at least five meters and
floods go back and we make ten meters like it's

(31:03):
going to be a You can't have ten offloads and
lose fifty meters. So I think that's a bit of
a fake, a fake stat that one.

Speaker 6 (31:12):
They don't think it would have faked staffed for us
on the weekend because Toby Kauf and the upload from
him created s faith for Jack.

Speaker 3 (31:19):
They understand that.

Speaker 6 (31:21):
We were definitely gaining from those offloads.

Speaker 3 (31:24):
Yeah, sometimes sometimes you don't, So.

Speaker 6 (31:27):
I get what you're saying, But I just think from
the for the Dragons, we need fads, like we're completely
devoid of ideas if we don't have that second phase.
I think, how.

Speaker 3 (31:39):
Good do they have halves play off? The offloads were?

Speaker 10 (31:41):
They played a great game this weekend, this fantastic game
this weekend. They delivered the ball to where it had
to be and we scored out wide set Slang scored
twos two points too, So they got the balls in
the places where we needed it.

Speaker 6 (31:56):
Yeah, yeah, I'll I don't know about the I don't
know about the halves Man. I think cal Flaningham had
a really good game. He played with a lot of energy.
To me, I hontually think Locklus was better the week
before against Paramoutta because he won easily. Everyone all of
a sudden the pressure comes off. I think he was

(32:16):
in our worst couple of players on the field. I
didn't think he had a very good game at all.
But we won, so no one wants to talk about that.

Speaker 8 (32:26):
That's that's the point. Did he did he just look
good because we played better?

Speaker 3 (32:35):
Yeah? Maybe?

Speaker 8 (32:38):
Yeah? Talking about him is because we won. If we
back twenty or lost pay two, would we still be saying, yeah, drop.

Speaker 6 (32:50):
Him, Yes, yeah, winning winning papers over cracks and and
that's always yeah, that's always a bit of an shoo.
But I actually I didn't think a lot of these
was as bad as everyone made out against Paramount, and
I don't think he was as good as people are
making out he thought in this game. I didn't think

(33:11):
he was very good at all. I thought he was
one of the one of the worst players in the field.
In that first half an hour. There was a couple
of flight times where he got the ball and it
just died with him. There were there was time, very
tired to put on players. It's like, what the fuck
are you trying to do?

Speaker 3 (33:25):
Mate?

Speaker 6 (33:25):
Like, just did not look like he was in our
roll standard at all. There were some good things his
daughter back into the game, but haven't.

Speaker 8 (33:34):
I still think he's kicking games pretty It just just
so happened that, you know, Flanno, to his credit, he
seemed to sort of go up a notch or two.
And yeah, maybe the tack was well focused on him
rather than Ilias because Elias was still doing those you know,

(33:58):
those bombs to absolutely nowhere, like you know, straight down
the throat of the opposition. Yeah, it's pretty much what
he does is he said, he's been hard on less
money basically as far as I as far as I
can see it, I just.

Speaker 6 (34:17):
Think I wish he was half as good as ben Hard,
Like he's nowhere near as good as ben Hard.

Speaker 8 (34:24):
Well that that remains to be saying. But I just
got this feeling like, Okay, Sous, let him go for
a reason, and I think we're starting to see what
that reason is.

Speaker 3 (34:42):
Yeah, I don't.

Speaker 6 (34:43):
I don't think he's totally incapable. As I said, I
think apart from the finish to the Paramount game where
he kicked the ball out on the fall. Like, if
you if the game finishes in regular time against Paramount,
I'm given lock Linarly as potus. I've got got to
get in the one in that game. I think he
was actually pretty good. I thought he was was pretty
decent in that game, had a terrible finish to the

(35:06):
game that ultimately cost us the game, and everybody wants
to wants to sack him and lynch him based on
that one moment. The game is eighty minutes long, and again,
I think we win this game, and so people say
that he was good when I don't. I don't think
he was good in this game. I thought he was
pretty average, So yeah, I don't. I think people get

(35:29):
differing opinions on players based on whether we win or lose. Again,
if Blake Laurie had done exactly what he did this
week and we lost the game, I think the knives
would be out for him too, Like, it doesn't matter
how players actually play, it's whether we get a result
on them.

Speaker 8 (35:48):
Not from me.

Speaker 6 (35:50):
Maybe not, man, I.

Speaker 8 (35:51):
Just want to make that absolutely clear.

Speaker 6 (35:55):
And speaking speaking of Blake, Glory, Philin, who were up
to we're all over the place that wasn't on the agenda.
That whole conversation brought it up. So he brought it up,
so I decided to we may as well talk about it.

Speaker 8 (36:12):
Laurie's talking to the wrong guy.

Speaker 6 (36:16):
We want to talk Blake Glorie. Now, on the tick
of the thirtieth minutes, Lake Laurie comes on the field
with a score tired as the Nuns Nasty at six'.
Four ninety seconds, later ninety seconds After Blake laurie comes
on the, field we. Score ten minutes into the second,
Half laurie goes off and the game is over at
twenty eight to. Four Did Blake laurie win us this

(36:38):
game by? Himself? Billy, yes.

Speaker 9 (36:44):
He was great, Though like he was really really. Good
that's probably the best game he had basically last year.

Speaker 6 (36:51):
CAME i think it was a rib.

Speaker 9 (36:53):
Injury twenty twenty, two he was, great twenty twenty, three
he was. Great he's getting back to that form. Again
god love to say.

Speaker 6 (37:00):
It, yeah still only twenty two. Minutes still only twenty
two minutes of game time comes. On but in there
twenty two minutes run for one hundred. Meters you, know
do you think the people do you think the fans
value run meters more than they do tackles because there
was a. Gap but his first game he played eighteen.

(37:21):
Minutes he played twenty, minutes made twenty tackles in twenty.
Minutes was absolutely phenomenal, defensively didn't miss a, tackle but
only had a couple of. Runs but this game he
probably didn't make quite as many, tackles but he ran
for one hundred meters in twenty two. Minutes do you
think that people value run meters a lot more.

Speaker 7 (37:41):
Through.

Speaker 6 (37:41):
Tackles they.

Speaker 3 (37:44):
MUST i think both sides of the game is just as.

Speaker 9 (37:47):
Important And Blaye laurie looks really freaking, fit so he's
getting all the basics.

Speaker 6 (37:55):
Right he doesn't miss tackles too.

Speaker 9 (37:59):
Often tackle the business is going to be up there
and he's doing his, job and people still find a
way to, say, oh you've got to drop.

Speaker 3 (38:08):
Him you know you're going to drop. Him but he's
doing what he's. Doing he's doing his, job SO i
don't know why he's.

Speaker 6 (38:16):
Dropping, Yeah and there's one of those comments From George.
Jersey he, said for twenty two, Minutes i'd be bleeding
the young guys into the. Side we've Got dylan egan
playing eighty. Minutes he's one of the young. Guys we've
Got Hamis stewart has played every. Game he's one of
the young. Guys we've Got Toby koutzman who's out starting front.
Roller he's one of the young. Guys how many of

(38:36):
these young guys you want to bleed into the. Site
you don't need to have all of the young guys
in the side at the same. Time blocker can play
a role like, that and he's known that he's capable
of doing that and did did a good job for
us on the. Weekend SO i think You hick the
best man for the, job AND i Think blocker answered
all the critics by showing that he can play that.

(38:59):
ROLE i myself was even critical saying That blocker isn't
the man to be playing that that twenty minute. Role
BUT i think if did a good job of it
on the, weekend he's going to back that up again
again though this weekend in a tough one Against. Manly but,
YEAH i was not a joke That blocker won the
game by. Himself obviously he, didn't but he caught all

(39:22):
the blame for his nineteen minute. Performance whenever we, lose
so it stands to reason, that you, know he should
also get a lot of credit when we. Win but
in all, seriousness has, man it was a great period
in that ten minutes leading up to halftime with three.
Tries was there anything in particular that changed for either

(39:44):
team that led to this purple patch and made apart
From Blake.

Speaker 8 (39:48):
Laurie obviously that was it was All Blake Larry Lake
laurie comes, on he does what he does and all
of a, sudden we're going trials like it's going out of.
Fashion that's that's that.

Speaker 3 (40:02):
Simple we can do.

Speaker 8 (40:04):
It Great laurie is the. Man that's that's that's that's basically.

Speaker 6 (40:11):
It, OKAY i don't think man heard the bit WHERE
i said in all periods AND i Spent, Okay.

Speaker 8 (40:20):
NO i did hear? It who chose to ignore?

Speaker 7 (40:22):
It?

Speaker 6 (40:25):
Yeah NOW i have the thought of analysis you get
here on The Mad dragons. Podcast it's just right out
to kick talk and.

Speaker 8 (40:34):
All, right.

Speaker 6 (40:37):
Just after the, Break, billy just after the, break we
called another try and it was the Money man was.
Back he didn't do his Money man celebration after the first,
try but it did break it out for his Second
what were your thoughts on Tour blotto's.

Speaker 9 (40:52):
Game, yeah until of The hams free. Injury obviously played.
Well every right to do to do the money celebration
when we're by that, much as long as.

Speaker 6 (41:04):
We're not up by twelve or.

Speaker 9 (41:06):
Eighteen so you, know it's good to see your life
is energy that brings like that's gotta be the best
thing in the. WORLD i would love it IF i
teammate like, that AND i. DO i Think i'm the
teammate like. That Unfortunately i'm.

Speaker 2 (41:20):
Out but.

Speaker 9 (41:22):
When you have a teammate that brings energy on the,
field on and off the, field actually it's just it's
a better it's a better club and a. Culture so
do it all all as much as you. Want if we're,
winning buy a.

Speaker 6 (41:35):
Lot he loves or and prive and the energy that
he brings to the side.

Speaker 10 (41:44):
Is really does ever doing it on the, Bench he's
ever doing it on the bench a. School yeah he
was doing the.

Speaker 6 (41:57):
Money. Man, yeah big. Team Val hones featured in the
try scorers and as well as scoring a, prize sitting one,
up creating a couple of line. Breaks also look like
he's goal kicking his. Back his voweled back to his
best after a slow start of the.

Speaker 3 (42:15):
Year.

Speaker 10 (42:16):
YEAH i think he might have been, missing Missing North
queenslands for a while, there and then realized that The
Wollongong beach is a better beaches. Anyway so he's coming
to his own now scoring. Tries he made the break
for the The Carl flanagan, try So, YEAH i think
he's coming into his own again now and we need.

Speaker 6 (42:38):
It we need.

Speaker 3 (42:38):
It, yeah, Yeah, NO i.

Speaker 6 (42:42):
Think certainly in attack he's doing doing a fantastic job
and it was great to see him nail a couple
from the. SIDELINE i, KNOW i Wish tony did come
On tony a bait that is not not big, team
BECAUSE i know he was was was sing that there's
not enough people talking about. That the goal, kicking particularly

(43:03):
the one From sloan's side of the field where it
went out that way and then came back in like
an absolute stre there.

Speaker 10 (43:10):
Was there was a big wind down there at times.
Too you want to see the ball when the bombs went,
up they held up in the. AIR i didn't go
too far twenty, meters but they just held up and
the stayed there and they come.

Speaker 3 (43:20):
Down there was it was a big.

Speaker 10 (43:22):
Wind heading, north so a big biak sutherly coming.

Speaker 3 (43:27):
Through so, yeah come well, yeah.

Speaker 6 (43:32):
All, Right well had man at at thirty four points
to ten with fourteen minutes to, go The titans had
a player sent to the. Sinbin were you disappointed that
from that point we didn't didn't put The titans to
the sword and go on and play post fifty five?
Points not.

Speaker 8 (43:54):
PARTICULARLY i was just happy with the lead that we
had at that. Point if we could hold that, lead,
yeah maybe get a trial or two then fine.

Speaker 3 (44:05):
It, NO i.

Speaker 8 (44:08):
Wasn't disappointed that we didn't at that, POINT i figured job,
down let's just make job how many tries and we
move on to next.

Speaker 6 (44:21):
Week see for me that that that is a that
that that's a really disappointing attitude from from The, dragons
that we just don't have that killer instinct to put
teams away like that was an opportunity for us to
really boost out four and against The titans we're down and.
Out that was a chance for us to ram home that,
advantage show no, mercy but instead we just cruised to

(44:43):
the finish line and you, know we're, happy happy to
have that our little win against The Gold Coast titans we,
like we need to be playing games. Out we need
to be playing for for eighty. Minutes we need to
not be showing mercy to these teams when when they're.

Speaker 8 (44:58):
On the ball arounds up doing fucking stupid.

Speaker 6 (45:01):
Ship we don't need to do. That we need to
keep doing. That we were that The titans scored three
tries in five.

Speaker 8 (45:09):
Minutes all of a, sudden we're, thinking oh, shit.

Speaker 6 (45:12):
Oh, yeah, no, yeah that's gonna. Happen The titans were.
Done like The titan did score three throws in ten
minutes because we took our foot off the, Gas like
they scored a couple of tries late because we just
stopped playing. Footy we were happy to cruise to the finish.
Line like it's just a shit attitude for an ner
old team to.

Speaker 3 (45:31):
Have we're not going to be able to hold them.

Speaker 6 (45:38):
Out, well we don't have to throw the ball around
stilly and play touch. Football you just keep doing what
you've done to get to that, lane and you run
away with. It because they were they were so, done
they were so there for the. Taking their body language was.
Horrendous they had no. Energy they just had a player
center the sin being like, that they just looked like

(46:00):
a team that was ready to conceive fifty or sixty,
points and we just didn't want to do. IT i
was actually really disappointed that we didn't go on with. It,
billy he, Won he gives a. Ship, Okay, well if
you're you're happy with with with that win and losing next,
week then that's.

Speaker 10 (46:21):
Great, yeah we can lose next week if we played
the top four On friday, night.

Speaker 6 (46:27):
If we play like, that we'll lose next.

Speaker 3 (46:29):
Week, yeah if we played the top Four friday, night
we would have. LOST i.

Speaker 8 (46:32):
RECKON i, mean that's that's that's. All that's all he's.

Speaker 3 (46:38):
Saying that's.

Speaker 10 (46:40):
It let's, go we, Won let's go who let's go.
Objection all, right let's let's let's. Finish let's finish with
with the game with a. Positive billy finished with our
n end of the. Match the eagle has. Landed he
kept off a great performance with a. Try he is
he is the Mad dragon shout man of the.

Speaker 6 (47:00):
Match and what do you think of his?

Speaker 9 (47:02):
Performance, well we've got A sinney third game OF nrl
first grade full first. Start, yeah, first like, wow that
is that is probably one of the best performances from a,
Rookie i've seen an agent.

Speaker 6 (47:24):
That was absolutely.

Speaker 9 (47:26):
Amazing, Again, yeah eighty, minutes one hundred and forty meters
like forty, tackles try a line break like that's just outrageous.
Stuff so that's that's what you want to see from
A dragons. Player if he can replicate that or if
he can go along the lines of that.

Speaker 6 (47:44):
PERFORMANCE i haven't played on our hands for.

Speaker 9 (47:47):
Sure the good thing is too we didn't let go of,
him he actually resigned, him so.

Speaker 6 (47:54):
We got to win.

Speaker 9 (47:55):
There so, yeah good performance from The eagle and can't
wait To ceo plays next. Week probably could be matching
up Against homoli if he's not, injured so.

Speaker 6 (48:06):
We see how that. Goes he is a freaking monster ham,
only but he was. Struggling he. Did he was playing
over here In perth and he was struggling for a
long time before he went off. Injured so, YEAH i
don't know whether he might might not be, playing who,
knows but we'll find out in The TUESDAY, o Which
i'm pretty Sure jesse's hosting that. One and, yeah With

(48:30):
Big teeth behind Enemy, lines you had any insiety info
on That Big?

Speaker 3 (48:35):
Teeth, sorry what was that?

Speaker 6 (48:37):
Mate any inside info behind enemy lines About i'm only
all that win to is he going to?

Speaker 10 (48:42):
PLAY i haven't say anything about it, yet SO i
keep my eye. Out i'll keep we are scoops. Phrases
he's always got the he's always got the big, Call
so look, out look out for.

Speaker 6 (48:53):
Scoop, yeah. Scoots make sure you're followed scoops, calls because
you will always be like the party.

Speaker 3 (49:05):
As a behind enemy lines for.

Speaker 6 (49:06):
You, fashionably fashionably like See.

Speaker 8 (49:09):
Johnny i've actually got a big tea house from that.

Speaker 6 (49:11):
One, Yeah big BIG t Hosting Big tea in charge
of that.

Speaker 3 (49:19):
One, well look there we, go there we.

Speaker 6 (49:22):
Go Big tea might Be hope hosting the Boom mate
we're off crook or SOMETHING i. Did all, Right Lorle,
gray you're on The Mad dragons, podcast brought to you
By Complete Wear. Solutions will go to, You BIG t
with the new South Wald cup of Good win forty
four twelve over The.

Speaker 10 (49:42):
Roosters you watch this game with me this, morning take
us through your. Resession oh did they? Hear the halves
for The dragons played? Exceptionally glover kicked as many goals
as you have to and like Inm King, tagia what
a what a great player he. Is he's going to
be putting pressure on the Two walks boys up. Front so,

(50:05):
yeah allowed who had a great, GAME i, thought plus
outside backs they were they were killing. It intercept tries,
left right and. CENTER i think there were three intercept
tries from The. Dragons there was Fin now and Possibly
allen took the intercept try and scored. Try so, yeah
it was a fantastic game and it's it's good to

(50:29):
see our RESERVE b side going, well putting pressure on
our first.

Speaker 3 (50:33):
Grader so it's good to see for a. Change, yeah and.

Speaker 6 (50:40):
A couple of guys on the New South Wald cup
taboos in character for a week scored a try in
his New South wales capa boot and is also got
a try in his New South Wales cup. Boot the

(51:00):
in the pink head that he'd been on the field
about two seconds To taylor had no idea who this guy.
Was he's, gone and the player in the pink headgearers
had no idea who it.

Speaker 3 (51:16):
Was he's done a good, job.

Speaker 6 (51:20):
Didn't he didn't say his name for the for the
remainder of the game. Either maybe he was just a
little bit scared of saying, Plilo SO i didn't didn't
want to get didn't want to get the pronunciation.

Speaker 10 (51:37):
Role that was a great. Game it was a great.
Game we really gave it to the. Roosters fours were,
strong their backs were. Fast it was good to. See, yeah,
yeah it.

Speaker 6 (51:51):
Was it was a very very good, win the best
win that we've had In New South wild coupled probably
the most complete Performance i've seen from from the. Team
they've been winning without playing all that well in my.
Opinion they did lose that that one game to The,
bears but they've been been winning without playing. Well jeffy
said that that's an easy. PRONUNCIATION i think it's more

(52:13):
the f A g at the start of his, name
mate might be the bit that that gave the commentator
a little bit of.

Speaker 10 (52:18):
Pause it depends on where he comes. From if it
comes From, middle it's fagularly. Low if he comes From,
middle it's fagularly. Low if it comes from The, islands
it's fairly. Low so you haven't got a fucking, Clue
you just.

Speaker 6 (52:30):
You just take a gift and thy, confidently and that's
that's how it said from now.

Speaker 3 (52:34):
On or if it's like, fene the g's a n the.

Speaker 6 (52:38):
G becomes a different. Way, yeah, no it's it's it's
a it's a tough, game but you've you've got to
do the best you can and you ask if you,
if if you're un, sure and you've got the opportunity to.

Speaker 10 (52:51):
Ask the, player then you, know most breaking, news day breaking, news,
day breaking, news four weeks for all THE.

Speaker 3 (52:58):
COO i do say awja that.

Speaker 6 (53:02):
That's From Scoot jesse said earlier that he's, Fine so you,
know we'll see which. Ones, actually who do you?

Speaker 8 (53:07):
Believe you're not going to Believe Jared.

Speaker 6 (53:11):
SUTTON i know. Who i've got my money On Jersey.
Flag they are really. Struggling they took on the bottom
of the ladder of roosters and The Chucks belt from
forty eight to. SIXTEEN i turned this one off in
discussed on the train on the way to the games
here In. Perth hard to pick anyone that was particularly,

(53:32):
impressive But i'll give a shout out to Where SPRINGS
i thought did a decent amount of work from. Fullback
and it was also nice to see Actual anthony score
a try in His Jersey flag. Daboo so a few
debutantes getting across the. Strike always good to see our
finals to The Junior reps And Tartagail. Cups dealers are
through to the preliminary final after a big thirty two

(53:56):
four win over The Penrith. Panthers they dominated from to.
Finish Tory shifton is a constant threat in attack And
Harry wakapahatu was really really good has really good instincts
as a ball player in the seven whilst the entire
forward pack were immense they just physically dominated The. Panthers
bad losses in the other two, games so the boys

(54:18):
In Harold matts AND Sg ball both went. Down this
means that THE sg ball under nineteen side is eliminated,
eliminated but The Harold matt's side they finished as minor
premiers and also got beat but they do get another
chance next, week so hopefully they can bounce.

Speaker 3 (54:36):
Back all.

Speaker 6 (54:38):
Right into some news and rumors as Man i'll start
with you fin. Our latu has allegedly toured The Newcastle knights.
Facility also was met with The, bulldogs according To, buzz
which is not The unbalano's the other less Reliable buzz

(55:00):
thoughts on the possibility of Losing FINALATU.

Speaker 8 (55:05):
I Mean first of, ALL i have to question which
one of the two is less. Reliable i've been impressed
with WHAT i have seen FROM la. Two he's one
of the players THAT i would like to see us.

(55:27):
Keep but as you've said a hundred, times we can't
keep them. All but here's one THAT i think we
definitely need to.

Speaker 6 (55:36):
Keep, YEAH i agree with everything you. Said we can't
keep them are theories a lot like we've seen the
volume of amazing, talent particularly in our forwards right, now
that are coming, in it's coming through our. Systems it's
going to be impossible to keep them all and there
are going to be some disappointing losses are going to

(56:00):
be players are going to, lose and some of them
are going to go on to, play some of them
to go, Well i'm more talking about the, forwards but
some of them going to go going to go on
and play played first grade and be very good first grade.
Players but we've got eight to ten birth grade footballers

(56:21):
in like that are under sort of twenty one in
their forward pack right. Now you can't keep them. All
you can't hold them all back because they're all starters
at another. Club you, know sometime in the near. Future
so there's gonna be something we're going to. Lose BUT
i agree with what you said has been if A
latu should not be one of. Them we've apparently offered

(56:42):
him a multi year. DEAL i don't know if what
sort of dollars we're talking about, there but he's been
offered a multi year. Deal the balls in his. Court
hopefully he chooses to stay with The, dragons but IT'S
i think The dragons made a mistake by allowing him
to go to, market and they could have signed, him

(57:03):
could have extended his contract last year before he was
able to talk to other. Clubs AND i remember When
Shane flanagan, said when it comes to fin our life,
too we've decided we're just gonna wait and. See we're
going to see how he. Develops we're gonna going to
wait and see how he goes playing against Many New
south Walest cup before we make a. Move, unfortunately he's
been very good and other clubs have seen that he's very.

(57:25):
Good so now they've come, knocking they've got they're allowed
to talk to.

Speaker 3 (57:27):
Him so.

Speaker 6 (57:30):
We were risked losing. Him that's the that's the game
we've played and we'd like to see how it plays.
OUT i hope we keep. HIM i really hope we keep.
Him he's a great young. Player but you can't keep him.
All there's going to be some we're gonna. Lose we're
just not going to have the best. Offer but hopefully
surely we can outbid The bulldogs And. Newcastle they can't

(57:51):
have any running.

Speaker 8 (57:51):
Left is there any bation in? Front properly we.

Speaker 3 (57:56):
Can we can offer it something near the will And Bong. Ocean,
yeah built him.

Speaker 6 (58:06):
Something rory McDonald rory McDonald's comp but he will. Stay
hopefully there is an announcement of. That And rory's got
got better sources Than scoop. Does Big BIG. T we've
heard all the rumors about l K. T but the

(58:28):
other News World cup Half Joanah glover is also reportedly
attracting some. Attention can we keep? Both will we?

Speaker 3 (58:36):
Keep Oh? Jas not only go accorts are.

Speaker 10 (58:38):
Coming we've Got Daniel akins to coming From cronulla and
then we've got Carle fanakin's there for another two. Years
ellis has got another year on his, contract so these
boys are going to be if he's not going to
release them like let them, play they're going to be
held back In, missouri and they're going to want to
go Because paramatta are looking at Liking king tell you aren't?

Speaker 6 (58:59):
They, Well paramatta And newcastle are the two funds That
i've heard looking.

Speaker 1 (59:06):
At like In.

Speaker 6 (59:06):
Kingtogia the report THAT i saw with regards To Joanah
glover didn't mention a club that was looking at, him
BUT i Heard newcastle we were also looking at.

Speaker 3 (59:14):
Him, jesus why come?

Speaker 6 (59:16):
From, WELL i, mean they've Got bill And, brown so
he takes up ninety percent of their salary. Cap so
every other player they get has to be a reserve.
Grader so they have to look at those sort of
lower tier players that are that are going to play
for a minimum. Wage but if we don't have a
top thirty contractor, giving we're not even offering minimum. Waves

(59:36):
so how many half can you have in your top?
THIRTY i think max, four maximum, four maximum four halves
in your top. THREE i don't think you can carry
any more than. That we've already got. Three, so like In,
Kingtogia Joanah, glover only space for one of, them if
either of, them so hopefully well at least take, one all,

(59:58):
Right Billy forced and unforced. Changes Now christian two or
two stuffing suffering an. Injury word is that hopefully it's
only only, one maybe two weeks. Max but the question
is who comes in to? Replace talk a lot too
while he's.

Speaker 9 (01:00:16):
Out, PERSONALLY i would like to see the only. Only
i'm pretty sure he's been a Riding. Cup i've really
got to watch much of The New South Wales, cup
but he seems to be doing well there and from the,
preseason like you know at thirty minutes in The Charity

(01:00:36):
shield where he's just buy it on For, rice you,
KNOW i would like to see. It he's got some,
pace he looks like he's got a bit of and
the year about. Him so it could be dislike for like.
REPLACEMENT i would really like to see how he. Plays
it's the only for. NOW i think that's easy one for.

Speaker 6 (01:00:53):
Me, YEAH i, AGREE i would love to see the only.
Now it's an extended chance in the top, grade a
chance for him to cement a spot in the top
grade and show what he's got to. OFFER i have
a feeling That Maddie feenie's been eighteenth man a couple of.
Times he's the guy that's right on The. Peiphory Shane

(01:01:16):
flanagan seems to like him for whatever, reason prefers him
over for. Now SO i have a feeling that it
might be might Be Matt. Feeneither it wouldn't shock me
if he was named On, tuesday but if it was
up to, me see only for. NOW i think he
ran for almost two hundred meters on the. Weekend he
scored two, tries including one of those intercept. TRIES a

(01:01:38):
BIG ta was talking about The New South Wales cup.
Game he played played really. Well the big thing with
the only fin now THAT i like was zero errors
as a. Winner that's not an easy thing to do
to get through a game with zero, errors and he
did that on the weekend as. Well so he's ticking
every box. DEFENSIVELY i think they're still question. Marks but

(01:01:58):
isn't there question marks every week it, defensively Does matt
TEEN i really tick that? BOX i don't think he.
DOES i think he's had a lot of issues.

Speaker 8 (01:02:05):
Himself who's who's the better Defender phenie?

Speaker 6 (01:02:13):
Six, YEAH i would probably Say Poen knife's a better,
defender but two back of the game wave it.

Speaker 8 (01:02:26):
Not a thing about defense as.

Speaker 6 (01:02:27):
WELL i, mean.

Speaker 8 (01:02:29):
Has GOT pheni will unsurely covered attacking, wise but is
that enough to make up for what he isn't in?
Defense that's the question that needs to be answered By.

Speaker 3 (01:02:41):
Plano.

Speaker 6 (01:02:43):
Yeah, well according To Muhammad dibb Has, man you're you're
on thin if. Stupid If i'm gonna find big team
jest to long term, CONTRACT i don't think we've just
lo money in the bludget for.

Speaker 3 (01:02:54):
You So i'll Take i'll take a. Ten you do.

Speaker 6 (01:03:01):
Your drife as.

Speaker 8 (01:03:02):
Man i've already signed to Ben hunt type del So i'm.

Speaker 6 (01:03:07):
Sweet, yeah you can piss off and do A Brisbane
bronco podcast And.

Speaker 3 (01:03:16):
West Australian. Pirate i'm, sorry Bet, Y yeah, yeah.

Speaker 6 (01:03:25):
With an option for Eleven jesse. Records has been the other.
QUESTION i, mean there's there's no nothing that's come out
that that he's likely to miss a. Game but another
concern have to Be Toby kuchman's. KNEE i don't know
exactly what the issue, is but is there is there

(01:03:48):
a chance That Toby cawtron might need to miss a
game or two and get a bit of a knee
clean out or something along those, lines because he did
look like he was really struggling at.

Speaker 8 (01:03:57):
Times, okay, well not one hundred percent sure on that.
ONE i was in the, Aware i'm not aware of
the extent of. It but, look if he's if he's
carrying an, injury that that probably needs to be. Addressed

(01:04:17):
he probably does need to sit out for however long
it's going to. Take who we've got to bring. In
maybe Maybe loco gets, it finally gets a, run but
the only way he's going to get a run from
WHAT i can see about Planet So i'm honestly Not

(01:04:41):
i'm not sure as to the, extent but if there
is some sort of an, ISSUE i have to think
he does miss the, week maybe.

Speaker 6 (01:04:48):
Two, yeah, YEAH i mean it looks to me like
he's probably going to try and battle. On He's he's
not the kind of lope that's that's going to want
To he's not going to put up his hand and
Say i'm. Injured i'm. Injured bottom can't. Play they're gonna
have to force him to sit out if if he's
going to Well, ROYTON i thought it was just a.

(01:05:09):
Knock he's he's taped up like a, mummy SO i
think he's carrying something. There but, yeah.

Speaker 8 (01:05:18):
DON'TING i Think i've just found my villain for next
week regards of what happens me And.

Speaker 6 (01:05:23):
Johnson Ian johnson's offering you one point two million dollars
over ten years that there was one point two million.
Currency he was, talking.

Speaker 14 (01:05:43):
You're in, trouble Mister. Johnson all, right that's test about.
Pause we love, it we Love he's not even on the.
Dependence that's world point.

Speaker 9 (01:06:08):
Two.

Speaker 6 (01:06:12):
YEAH i hope to tell you he's already on faithbook
market place. Three big big, Team, Yeah Unford. Changers i'd
Like AND i know everyone seems to Love Hamish, stewart
But i'd like to talk About Hamish. STEWART i know

(01:06:35):
every when we win a, game it's like everyone had
had a blind, them But Hamish stewart eight runs for
fifty four meters. Five. YEAH i think he's been. Great
but is it time for the young? Laders?

Speaker 10 (01:06:46):
YEAH i look at it that way. Too you bring
a young lads and you give him three or four
games and give him a, rest because they're not going
to be a bit able to be like A Raymond
Ta maron or a blocker or a and do it
week after week after the. Week they're only new in
his fifth to sixth game in The RED V so,
YEAH i think they do need to break and we've

(01:07:07):
Got they've got the heather fours cover through and if
he happens to play better Than Hammers Stewart hamisheers can't
battle his way. Back but, YEAH i think after a
couple of after three or four, weeks he need to.

Speaker 6 (01:07:18):
Break. Yeah, YEAH i sort of thought that after last
week that he was getting, close AND i think in this,
GAME i think he still kind of did his, job
but the five miss tackles concerns me a little. Bit
defenses is his that that's the big thing that he
brings the. Table he's got a great defensive, technique but

(01:07:39):
starting to fall off a COUPLE i think fatigue fatigue
you're playing in the top grade week in week, out
it does tend to get to the young, blope which
is why we talk about blooding. Them and that's that's
exactly what playing again's. Done he's blooded him perfectly and
now have time to go back to To, rezi's have
a bit of a bit of a ref and then
come back later in the. Season that's What i'd looking

(01:08:00):
at for, him all, Right Billy viewer question we've only
got the we've only got one viewer.

Speaker 8 (01:08:07):
Question, Well lliam's got me two and a half mill
over four.

Speaker 3 (01:08:11):
Years It's, jesus all, right, wow we're going, WELL i.

Speaker 6 (01:08:21):
Did see there was somebody. ELSE i think it Was
rory McDonald just started to go fund me to try
and make, sure.

Speaker 2 (01:08:30):
Uh.

Speaker 6 (01:08:32):
All, right billy viewer questions and not only the one
viewer question that That i've got spent through from everything
n R l and it's not dragons related at, all
but wants to get our thoughts on the The spencer
lend you you're not In thurston blow? Up what were
your thoughts on on?

Speaker 1 (01:08:50):
This?

Speaker 9 (01:08:51):
Oh JUST i don't even. KNOW i kind of watched
it be. YESTERDAY i was on non news THAT i
was just saying thirst and went up to talk to
him and len you just didn't want to. Talk he
just didn't. Care and to be, FAIR i kind of
don't Blame. Lenu it's this happened a year or over a.

(01:09:12):
Year why is he can't we just speak to him?

Speaker 3 (01:09:15):
Now why?

Speaker 6 (01:09:17):
Now it should have happened last year if he wanted
to speak to.

Speaker 9 (01:09:21):
Him you, know it's it's it's an irrelevant situation at this,
point like that happened last. Year i'm sure Len you's
gotten over, It Ezra MAM's gotten over. It they've moved,
past they've probably apologized to each. Other you, KNOW i
just don't even find a need to go talk to
him after the football game that he just played probably

(01:09:42):
forty fifty minutes in poor, blood sweat and tears Into
SO i Think lenu's in the right to SAY i
just don't.

Speaker 6 (01:09:49):
CARE i don't want to.

Speaker 9 (01:09:50):
DO i agree With spencer there's personal space to him
just about understanding that sort of.

Speaker 6 (01:09:57):
Stuff, YEAH i. Don't from my, PERSPECTIVE i. COULDN'T i
don't give a shit about either of. THEM i think
They've they've both got. POINTS i Think Jonathan thurston was
right with with some of the things that that that
he said at the time when it when it. OCCURRED

(01:10:18):
i Think Spencer lenu is a racist piece of ship
and you, know should have should have got a longer
suspension than he actually. Got SO i Think Jonathan thurston
was right about. That but at the same, TIME i
Think Spencer lenu is right That Jonathan thurston is a
little bit of a hypocrip on not coming out as
strongly Against evbramn when when he's he's done the wrong

(01:10:38):
thing as. Well so he's been completely silent on that
that issue with. Him AND i think whatever a man
did was worse than What Spencer lenu did so and
he got a piss poor weak after suspension as. Well
SO i think they're they both got questions to answer
in terms of what's gone, on why it's been raised.

(01:11:00):
NOW i have absolutely no idea that it's all blown.
Up it's all a bit of a storm and a
teacup and a bit of fun for people to talk.
About but who gives a shit about a lot of? Them,
Yeah i'm not too. Fast we did have another question
that came, through And i'm better give this one to,
you big, tea because you watch The reserve great. Game

(01:11:23):
what did you think Of?

Speaker 10 (01:11:24):
Cody i'll tell you if he's not, ready he's close
to ready to come back in the first. Grade some
of his runs from the, back he's weaving. Rounds you,
know he gets the, born he weaves through them. All
he does what he does What Reese waal, stays you,
know he just he's a. Weaver he gets, through makes,
runs makes fifty off the kick, return his defense was the.

(01:11:45):
Defense defense was. Good so, yeah, no if he's not
ready to play first grade, again he's pretty close to.

Speaker 6 (01:11:52):
It yeah, NO i agree with everything you. Said i'd
like to See Tony ramsey his work rate be a bit.
MORE i think that the style of fullback that fancy.
Sexil now you watch a guy Like Joi, gray a small,
fullback he doesn't bring a lot of, folk but the

(01:12:12):
work that he does in around the middle of the,
field he'll be taking kid ups and firing in behind the.
Ruck the ms is doing is. Quality he's making players,
miss he's very, evasive he's doing doing some good. THINGS
i just don't think he's quite doing enough of that
to be considered For tom Braid.

Speaker 3 (01:12:32):
On it's just.

Speaker 6 (01:12:33):
Yet but it's it's a.

Speaker 3 (01:12:34):
Remarkable he's coming.

Speaker 10 (01:12:36):
Back he's an inspiration and he's an inspiration to all
young kids who have got got illnesses that you can
overcome him and become a, champion you. Know, like because
if he's not back in THE nrl side in two years,
time next two, YEARS i don't know where he'll but
he might not be at The.

Speaker 6 (01:12:55):
Dragons, yeah, WELL i guess that's that's it's a reality
of the business that we're in is you, know Does
Cody Cody ramsey's not currently in our top. Thirty we've
effectively got to create a space for him next, year
now that he is back and playing, Football we've got
to create a space for him in our top if

(01:13:16):
we want to stick around at the.

Speaker 3 (01:13:18):
Top, yeah is there a?

Speaker 6 (01:13:21):
Chance is there a chance that that that doesn't? Happen as? Man?

Speaker 8 (01:13:27):
OKAY i think from from What i've seen from, HIM i,
mean the fact that he has been playing football again
is a, yeah, yeah and nothing short of a. Miracle
and the fact that he's been playing as well as
he has, been even in the lower rages and even a.
Miracle but does he have a place in the first grade?

Speaker 3 (01:13:55):
Squad?

Speaker 8 (01:13:57):
Yeah next?

Speaker 2 (01:13:57):
Year who.

Speaker 8 (01:14:00):
Knows but we need to create a space for him
so that if he can keep going the way he's,
going we have the option of bringing him. In and
it also gives us another option at, fallback you, know in, case,
Yeah gabo gets injured And sloane you know it does

(01:14:21):
Some sloan things and gets out of, Form we've got
to have another. Option There's he's.

Speaker 3 (01:14:28):
Got to be that.

Speaker 8 (01:14:28):
Option so, yeah, absolutely we need him in the.

Speaker 6 (01:14:31):
Squad, Yeah, jeff he said you wouldn't replaced our back.
THREE i don't. THINK i don't Think Title sloan's guaranteed
a position in the side right. NOW i know he's
called a couple of tries on the, weekend but AGAIN
i thought it was job half an. Hour he was pretty,
average like he finished off a couple of. TRIES i
didn't think he was great by any. Means he's been

(01:14:54):
great over the opening, opening a few weeks the. Competition,
NOW i wouldn't Put ramsey in right. NOW i think
he's not going to play in a role in twenty
twenty five at. All he will not play n role this,
year so forget about. That but, no there's nothing to
say that he couldn't couldn't Replace tyrrel slone on a
win next year he puts on a little bit more

(01:15:16):
weight and he comes back and he's. Firing so would
you replace one of our back. THREE i Think Tyrol
sloan is under under enormous pressure to keep hold of
that that wing. Spot AND i think he's under enormous
pressure as it is from guys like Like sony Fin
Now i've got guys Like maddie fi guys Like nathan
lost and going really. Well Corey allen had a good

(01:15:37):
game on the, weekend could go on to a. WING
i Think Tyrrel sloanes are already under a lot of
pressure from the guys that we've got right, Now SO
i think there is opportunities for for somebody to come
into our about. Three whether that's not gonna Be Cody
ramsey this, year but in the future it certainly could.
Be all, right, well we might might wrap it up up.

(01:16:00):
There SO i TOLD i told You i'll wrap up
lastly that The dragons would give us as many good
moments as we get, back and we will never really
know what to expect from this. Team we can beat
any team in the Comp LIKE i am confident in
staying there is no team in the comp we couldn't.

(01:16:21):
BE i don't think there's a single team in this
competition that looks forward to playing The, dragons because if
we turn up and play our best, footy there's nobody
that can stop. Us now that might be be, arrogant
but like we played our best against The Melbourne's dorman
and we've beat, THEM i think they're they're the benchmark
of this. Competition the problem is is that sightings of

(01:16:44):
that version of The dragons might be rareer Than, bigfoot
that there's still been nothing from The dragons to indicate
that they can perform at a high level. Consistently let's
see the last you'll hear from me for three. Weeks
i'm off on holidays with my family for for a.
While it will be all almost a month Until i'm

(01:17:05):
back on the. Podcast been on the very capable hands
Of jesse Big t and Has men and uh where
we talked about contracts this year for the panel. Members
you might not want me back BECAUSE i think The
dragons are going to win at least three of the
next four While i'm, away and then everyone will be

(01:17:25):
convinced That i'm a. Curse and you come, back you
want me to, stay stay WHERE i am, Forever and,
YEAH i won't leave it there to come On dragons.
FANS i want to.

Speaker 3 (01:17:47):
Be number.

Speaker 1 (01:17:54):
To what doing you?

Speaker 3 (01:18:00):
Else we do waterboarding every. Week that's good to.

Speaker 6 (01:18:14):
Say that tails.

Speaker 3 (01:18:20):
Out she wears it on her. Seat that's my.

Speaker 6 (01:18:23):
Tail tails are.

Speaker 15 (01:18:24):
Bad wings And june Bed tony and the and people
will delive very.

Speaker 6 (01:18:30):
Fast he knocked up.

Speaker 15 (01:18:32):
Again all the rest with The Red bed and Out
jects And Mad jaggon podcast is she would cover d
of you navigating ways down rabbit holes in the, land
being we be and so what don't speak the tails
