Speaker 4 (01:03):
Well, good evening everyone, and welcome to the Man Dragons
Podcast for our Round six preview and Friday nights. It's
a crucial game and it's only Round six, but it's
a crucial game our season as we take on the
Gold Coast Times Friday night at our wind Stadium in Wollongong.
M Yes, we will preview the game and we'll talk
(01:23):
all things Rougy League and we'll preview the the the
big game against the Titans. Yep, we will have a
looker back as well. We'll look a little bit deeper
where we can improve on that disappointing lost to Paramounta
last Saturday. But but I'll introduce the panel tonight. So
we've got Big Tea, We've got Billy and we've also
(01:44):
got Scoop who's come up. Company is a late inclusion
off the bench. Now we were expecting a guest as well.
I'm not sure if you will be coming on at
the moment has followen through, so we might have to
just keep keep the ball rolling and then we'll get
the ball rolling. But what we'll do, we'll get into
(02:05):
the teams and Billy I'll chuck it, throw it over you.
You can read it out through us. How the Dragons
will line up on on Friday night in the second
home game and well off for the year.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Yep, so lineup pretty much goes unchanged from last week.
We've got Gather center fullback, we as a sloane and
talk to lotsu centers Suley and our homes in the
halves Kyle Flanagan, Unlockey Ilias in the front row. We've
got Toby Catherine and David number nine, our Hogar Damian Cook.
(02:44):
Our back rowers are Lui and Jayden Sewer and our
locke is Jack de Villain. On the bench, We've got
Jacob Little Blake, Laurie, Jamius Stewart and Dylan Egan. With
the reserves, Matt Feeney, Raymond fight Talamarana and do you
anything now like like.
Speaker 2 (03:05):
Like a Pacific with a x xpe marks the steak
train mate, get through this. I'm going spek tell you
right hard.
Speaker 4 (03:17):
Yeah, we'll get into the next segment. Now we will
talk about the opposition lineup. It doesn't look like we
do have a guest. Unfortunately, he hasn't been able to
come on. Maybe we will hear from him later. We'll
hope see, but we'll go ahead with it anyway, and
if he does come on, our own friend Blaze, we
can speak to him when he does pop on. But
(03:38):
we will get into this and then yeah, as I said,
if he does come on, we'll okay, she should go rounding.
Speaker 3 (03:47):
Circles as we go behind enemy lines.
Speaker 2 (04:24):
H Well, the dragons fans on Bibt they said, I
you are anemy like enemy lines. We did, we didn't
didn't have Blaze lined up. But apparently Blade blazes in
India at the moment. So whether he can get Kagan
the engine, so we'll see he turns on, he turns
up anyway, just run through the Titans team. Jalen did
(04:47):
greet is at the back. Isn't the Greek the name
of that? That's soldier that rode run up the horse
on the on the harbor ridgeon cut the cut the
ribbon when they're doing the opening running in front of
Soul's premier Jack Ran. Well, anyway, he was his name
Degree Francis for Freder on the wings, Kelly and Sammy
(05:08):
in the Sens, Brimson and Campbell are the fire, the
fin the wake up, Verrils and Campbell, Gillard, Paynehausen's little brother,
Ben Fermore, and Chris Randall in place of Howe for Feeder,
Jolloth and the young Brooke Gray on the bench. I
was gonna ask Blayers about Brock. He's had five games
(05:29):
or something in the side, So if Blaze turns up,
we'll ask him about it. Weaver is the man Alec
Winky Malaney Simpons and fixed Gibbons on the extend bench. Well, anyway,
we're gonna we're going to talk about talk to Blaze
and the and the guy from from the Titans Titans crowd.
(05:50):
He's the guy with the drum, plays a drum all
the time. He's in India. So I was gonna just
gonna ask him, Jess, I was just gonna ask him
a couple of questions. Yep, I was gonna have do
you think Titans fans would be happy? But the two
or two with a buy a Spott happy at the
start considering they were zero and six last year.
Speaker 4 (06:12):
Well this is our I think they've even improved. I
know they were disappointing against the Dolphins last week, but
they've got a new look spine like they all. They
started the year with counta Kenny unfortunately went down with
a foot injury I think it was, but he loosed
to start the year, scoop, let me speak. Yeah, Brimson
(06:36):
and Campbell like it's it's sort of the Melbourne Storm
model where they've got three fullbacks and a hooka. They've
had J. J. Brimston and Jaden Campbell. Jayden Campbell's looking
good start. He's time in the number seven jersey and
Sam Berrell's a very handy nine who's had previous experience
at the roosters. So yeah, they've pretten pretty good. Tina
has been like a new recruit, missed all last year
(06:57):
with the A C. L injury, but yeah he's got again,
you recruit and yeah, but he won't be playing this week.
Thank god for the for the dragon, but.
Speaker 2 (07:07):
Take that one off. Yeah, I just got to talking
about their halves there we Liammson and Campbell. They lost
four and early on like he's at the start of
the year. Do you think Campbell and A. J. Brimson
of the fit for their their house and final.
Speaker 5 (07:28):
I think they are big. They've been impressive for the
past few weeks when they when I've been seeing them play,
I don't see I don't see Karen for making the
way back in unless he comes in to the number
four day, but I wouldn't be surprised. I'm going to
go a little smoky here. I think it looks fair.
(07:50):
Kieran is going to get Borsd into early retirement.
Speaker 2 (07:54):
Oh Crow is early Wow, Billy without without teenage, final
Waker and joeloff Willion need to step up at their
time on the field. They've also got the young Rock
Gray on the bench. Is his fifth game. Are they
going to be enough to replace or to fill in
(08:16):
for what Tino does for the team.
Speaker 3 (08:21):
It will take a lot of you know, it takes
a lot of forwards to do what Tino does. He's
pretty rare. He's very key for the Titans. You know,
they missed him last year. That was they missed. They
haven't They've got what he's They've got what he's got
to have him in his in his best football this season.
You know, he's been playing amazing for Titans, I think,
(08:43):
and I think he's a huge loss, all right, yep, yep.
Speaker 2 (08:50):
And then go back to you, yes without like without TEENA,
and they've got Chris Randall is in the third spot,
Chris Reynolds a hooker. That's gonna that's gonna change the
way they play?
Speaker 3 (09:04):
What what? What?
Speaker 2 (09:05):
What different way are they going to play? You reckon
not having there and having Chris rand in the spot.
Speaker 4 (09:11):
Well, Chris Randall's more of a workhorse. He's playing. He's
played a bit of middle forward a little bit before.
He tackles all day. So yeah, he is. He will
bring some defense. I'm a different sort of player to Tina.
Tina is that sort of one that makes the meters
and and he's very deadly with his offloads. Chris Randalls
more and I think it would be more of a
link man players like Brimson.
Speaker 2 (09:36):
Yeah. Well, have you you guys got any questions questions
for for Blaze? That's my questions? Done you any questions
for him? Or ask me a question about him or.
Speaker 4 (09:50):
What you think of the Titans?
Speaker 2 (09:52):
But I think of the Titans, don't ask me what
I think of the Titans. I won't be very nice
about that. Well, we may as well go to that
time of the night, Jess. We'll see we've got no
got no blaze on there, and there's the Titans team again.
We'll go to this, We'll go to this. Hey, God,
(10:13):
I'm it's all right. All right, ladies and gentlemen, Dragons,
fans and champions, it's time for I walked down memory lane.
We've already gone through. We've already gone through the the
Clive at Berkhoff of massacre back up in to one
(10:36):
fifty four to four or whatever it was fifty four
or six, and we've gone through this one. This is
the second most we know. Actually, we brought to you
by essence the light nature. If you have my body,
small bats, candles and soaps and did the markets read
around the show haven check him out on Facebook. Won't
be able to post some to you. That's essence a
light Okay. We played thirty one games against the Titans.
(10:59):
Titans wins, we've had twenty wins. There's one of our
teams were on top of seven and twenty six points
for US five hundred and twenty six points for the
Titans m going back to around twenty four Jubilee Overal Sunday,
the twenty fourth of August twenty four. Nine Dragons Verse Titans.
Adam Debsich and Grant Akins are our referees. Alright, we'll
(11:28):
run through the teams. Gerard Beal at the back of
the Dragons. Morrison Nightingale two of our best best wingers
we've ever had, Digan and Madi Utaie in the centers.
Gareth Widip and Benji Marshall, Ara Has, Ben Gray, Mitch
Rain and Jack the Bell in the front row. Lison
arm Out, Joel Thompson and Trent Merron locks the scrum.
Paul Mcgregorofer coach, with Cooper Frazell, Matthews and car Stanley
(11:51):
on the bench. Titans coached by Neil Henry, will Zillman, Kalefe,
five Fi Law and Anthony Donald Wins. Robert tack around
Robertson and tack around you. That's Jimmy the Jet, roberts
by the way, Caesar and Daniel Watermer other halves, Bull
Bailey both fallen at Matt White and the front ray
(12:11):
the other minute Yellow, Paul Carter and Greg byrd Is
on the bench, Ione, Nelson Kingston and Maurice Blair ros
the scrub for on the bench for the Titans.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
Few ex Dragons and that Titans team big team.
Speaker 2 (12:27):
There are a few ex Drags in that Titans imigation.
It's one of their Yeah, they've got a few few
few x dragons fire five low. Yes, Bailey.
Speaker 4 (12:41):
Played a few games for the Dragons.
Speaker 2 (12:43):
Okay, that bench you you're Kingston, that's got Kevin kings Kingston.
You've got Nelson, but that's Nurse, not Nelson, a sort
of sophomore and minor, and it's Maurice Blair. So it's
a funny little bench. In the eight minute, Benji Marshall
is over for a try. Yeah, it has been at
(13:08):
Benji Marshall latches onto a trap. Mayron off load, I
run the past and taxed he was Dragons laid six nil.
Then seven minutes later Brett Morris scores. Well what was
to be the combined two hundred try for the Britt
and Josh Morris combination. How good was that? A two
hundred tries between Brent and Josh Morris over the years
(13:30):
to twenty and fourteen. Yes, Brett Morris actually scored the
three hundred tray between him. Did just Morris do anything?
Brittle Morris? They scored the three hundred tray between him
and that was in twenty seven eight against the Melbourne Stone.
So congratulations to Britton. Josh I's been at Jason No
gala faith for dummy across to Benji. He dumps out
(13:55):
of the back like he was playing rugby union, just
doing the picks it up, fixing on the nine and
goal nine gal over in the corner. Half time. That's
half time. The t is half time half time Dragons
sixteen titles nil? Uh what do we are you now? Oh?
(14:21):
Here we go just on the twentieth million mark or
second half just juging latches onto a crossfield bomb. So
we're doing them back then too. We used to both
for the other guy. Now then we used to boone
for Josh Digan. He jumps in the air, flies through
the air like a battle of enemy was, crashes to
the ground. Scores the tris Dragons twenty two nil. A
(14:47):
bit of Benji magic coming in this one. In this try,
Benji went step step dummy, step step dummy, skip step
dummy through the through the gap. They couldn't even touch him.
Passes off the bill Bell onto the place untouched Dragon
is twenty eight deal and the fifty nine men. John
Thompson over in the fifty ninth minute runs from the back.
He's running for the back fence. We were ten minutes
(15:08):
out from their line. He ran for the back fence.
They we're not going to stop him. He just crashed
over like he used to always do. He used to
always be a great player. Joel Thompson um barrels three
defense thirty two nil. There's John Toldson me his two wives. Well,
I don't know whether it's two wise, but we already
have two wars in the family picture. Oh there you go, lucky,
(15:30):
lucky lucky Tomah gave a kick six from six from seven.
They kicked six from seven. Oh, the Titans did score,
like eff, he don't score a trial, so to keep
the goal full time. Dragons thirty four Titan six. So
(15:56):
that was the second second highest win against the Titans.
Their first run was fifty four fifty four to six
up and Clive berghof Oval and that's it. Thank you
for joining me for honey me lines and I walked
down memory Lane. It's been a big tea presentation brought
to you by Pardon. That's a good picture of me.
(16:22):
That's a great picture of me from one of my
best pictures. There's been a big T presentation brought to
you by Mad Dragon podcast. And this is the light
nature for everybody. Uh, small bat soaps and candles. And
you asked me for a little little tea. There's a
little little tea now they you asked me for a
(16:43):
little little tea. That's back in the UK nineteen seventy five.
That's me right there, question Christian Marca School, Big T. No,
I wasn't your rebellionsh I didn't like I was a
calsel trin. I didn't like authority. But yeah that's me.
Look at have you? How handsome more young man?
Speaker 1 (17:04):
I was?
Speaker 2 (17:04):
I if you were me to put you in this
picture and remember you from a walk down roomy lane,
send me your photos. Come on, guys, have a bit
of fun.
Speaker 4 (17:19):
Pardon Scoop's got a smile on his face. He wants
to do it.
Speaker 2 (17:23):
Send me, send me a picture if you was a
little kid in your forty year or anything, as a
five year old, that was me. I was. I was
about five six back then, and the kid next to
me was my best friend. I can't remember his name now,
but anyway, and then you gave Mad Dragons Podcast walk
I love his old baby and the Dragons for life
(17:44):
back to you, Jess.
Speaker 4 (17:46):
Yep, so it is a well. As we said early
on the show, it is a must win game for
the Dragons this week. We or we want to win
every game. But yeah, it was disappointing loss to PARAMOUNTA
last week. It was a very I've lost. The take
wasn't a big teake.
Speaker 2 (18:04):
I turned my back when Elliots kicked the ball out
of the fall. I turned my back. I didn't want
to watch the rest of that game. This game, we
have to win. We've got to win it. We've got
to get some points on the ball. We can't go
win lost win, lost, win loss what we did last year,
like we lost lost loss win, lost loss win lost
them in that sort of way. But yeah, I am
(18:28):
oh that we just played dumb football. We were just dumb.
I don't know, I don't know what they were doing. Yeah,
we have to win this run, yes, for sure.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
Billy Christian to a plot who plays his fiftieth game,
what do you make of his well if he's played
a huge ball of them at the Dragons obviously played
previously with the Rusters and mainly a fiftieth game on
Friday night. What do you think of how do you
think he's going and what do you think he brings
to our team after fifty games?
Speaker 3 (19:02):
Look, I rate him. I like the energy that he
brings to the club. You know, he brings a big energy,
he's very passionate. Hostedly, the defensive side isn't the strongest
part of his game, but you know that can improve.
He's been but he's been great for our club's energy
and you know it brings something different to the table
(19:23):
and that's what dragonsn had for ages. So congrats on fifty.
Go out there and kill it.
Speaker 4 (19:31):
Now, scoop all the crow as you more recently I
picked up that name. Lachlan Elias has just he was
very lucky, considered very lucky to keep his spot in
the side, maybe due to the short turn round of
the headlines have said. Anyway, with that poor finish to
(19:53):
the game where he kicked the ball out on the fall,
as big T said just before, do you think he's
really got to step up now that we've lost Considered
we've lost two games, even though we have led by
twelve against South and now Paramouter. Is the pressure on
him and his past partner in cold Flanningham.
Speaker 5 (20:11):
I'm gonna have to say, yes, the pressure is on
him because we do have and the reserve grow two
really good young players and Liking Kintogia, which reports earlier
this week as him linked to the parameter eels or
squeals that Blaze likes to call them. And then Jonah
(20:36):
Glover has been really oppressive for's cart. So if we
do lose again this week, I wouldn't be surprised if
either Liking Kintogia or Jonah Glover gets called up to
replace Lacklan Ilias.
Speaker 4 (20:55):
Yep, Now, what what do you make of that? One
big t aort of being said about the former Taby
catchman and David Klember, who has been quite quiet in his.
Speaker 2 (21:08):
He's played two games, he hasn't played all year. He's
going to be a bit slow to start, and and
Tavie Cassman has been playing out of his skin. I
think he's got points in our our Man of the
match every week. It's been him and him and Guffo
every week getting points for us. So yeah, Tessa is
(21:30):
doing a great job. Claimer will come good and Ilios
will come good. It's a brand new spine, come on,
brand new spine. Guffo the only player that's there from
our spine, car Flanagan so and as as as the
Titans as well, they're a new spine as well. So
(21:50):
it's the battle of the spines this week. His spine
plays better. He is going to win the game.
Speaker 4 (21:57):
Yeah, well, he heard from it co captain click overson
and recently who has talked about that game on Saturday
and as well as what we must do to win
this game on Friday. He knows it is coming. I
know it's the early season, but he thinks it is.
We know it can be a good team. And yeah,
(22:18):
well let's see what he had to say at a
recent media conference.
Speaker 2 (22:29):
Such a good Yeah, disappointing.
Speaker 6 (22:33):
We gave ourselves every chance to win that and a
few little things later in that that second half they've
probably come.
Speaker 2 (22:38):
Back to horness.
Speaker 4 (22:39):
And for the second game, we've done that.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Nice work. Second game, we've done that.
Speaker 6 (22:44):
So I was pretty disappointing, but I'm still early on
and we know the team we can be and we
want to be is just being able to learn from them,
making sure it doesn't sort of come back to horne
Us again in the back end of the season.
Speaker 7 (22:58):
From the.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
Such a reading.
Speaker 2 (23:01):
Well, no, I don't think so.
Speaker 6 (23:02):
I think we started the game well, we defended well,
We've got ourselves in the game, and as I said,
just probably two or three poor things in that that
second half and they capitalized. And you can't do that
in the NRL. You know every game is going to
be hard and go down to the eightieth minute. And
the weekend was no different. And you look at the
games we've lost, they've both been by one point. So
(23:23):
it means we're fighting well and staying in the game,
but just letting them off the hook at at big times.
Speaker 4 (23:29):
And it's it's cost us twice.
Speaker 2 (23:33):
Yeah, it's a bit funny.
Speaker 6 (23:35):
You don't really think about it until you run out
and there's one one point I looked over and saw
Joe staring at me, and then Dial was laughing at
me the other days. So then once the balls kicked you,
you move on pretty quickly and you forget about it
and just another game. Footing makes it. It's rugby league.
Things go wrong, things go right. You don't get a
(23:55):
call or some play that you've you've worked on doesn't work.
And momentum can swing really quickly in rugby league and
you can be on the front foot and then they
go down the other end of score.
Speaker 4 (24:06):
So look, a lot of things can lead to that.
Speaker 6 (24:09):
But we've got to be better at the back end
of games to to be able to protect our lead
and continue to play the foot if we want to.
Speaker 2 (24:19):
Definitely we need to.
Speaker 6 (24:21):
As I said to rugby league's week in week outs
really hard and it's even harder to win them.
Speaker 2 (24:27):
So you've got to learn.
Speaker 6 (24:28):
And we do have a young squad at the moment,
but they're doing their job and we just need to
win some games, definitely. But look, it's a team sport.
We're all in it together. It's no one person's fold
or a group of people's fault. We're footy players and
we know that we're a team and I want to
(24:49):
win everything I do, but look, it's the way it is.
Speaker 2 (24:52):
This is where we're at, and the best thing.
Speaker 6 (24:55):
About rugby leagues you get to go again next week,
so we have a chance to sort of work on
that this week and and get ready to go for Friday.
Speaker 3 (25:03):
Obviously, this year are sittingly might be.
Speaker 6 (25:10):
Oh, it's going to get better every week. The more
you play together, the better you're going to be. And
there's a number of new faces. But as I said,
those those games that we did lose, the Bulldogs game,
we were right in it, and the other two we
lost by one point. So we're putting ourselves in good spots.
But we've let too sort of leads slip there. And
again it's a team spot where we all play a
(25:32):
role in winning games and we all take the take
the fall together.
Speaker 3 (25:36):
Because I feel like anything has changed since the trials.
Obviously some really good football from the spine things.
Speaker 2 (25:40):
Let be yelling really well.
Speaker 3 (25:42):
But you seem to get a bit of a roadblock
in some of these games.
Speaker 6 (25:46):
Does it feel like a different I don't feel like
we've hit a roadblock made it's it's been different things
in games that have cost us. It's not we're not
struggling to score points. We're not struggling to create opportunities,
and a lot of the lot of the job of
a sport is to create opportunities, and we scoring some
great tries.
Speaker 2 (26:03):
So I don't think we hit a roadblock.
Speaker 6 (26:05):
It's just a few things at the back ends of
games where where it turns the momentum and as I said,
the momentum is hard to hard to swing at times,
and when it does, it's full force. So we have
to just get better at sort of jumping the fence
and and sort of weather in that at the back
end of the game. I guess return to the first
graded and we had that long way off and as
(26:26):
I've senior played, he sort of put your arm around him,
or do you sort of how do you urging him
into getting him back to his best football.
Speaker 4 (26:31):
Oh, he's been good.
Speaker 2 (26:32):
He's been playing good footy for us.
Speaker 6 (26:34):
And again, as I said, it's we've lost two games
by one and one by eight. So it's it's not
like we're out there getting missold. It's it's where we're
in the fight where we're playing one player. It's just
about doing it for doing it for eighty minutes. And
we've learned some valuable lessons over the last month. And
Lock he's no different. He's getting his confidence back in
and working hard to make sure he's playing the right
(26:55):
foot and he's got the full bell left from me
down and look, he's our seven.
Speaker 4 (26:59):
And I don't think he's going to going to be changing.
Speaker 8 (27:04):
Is the.
Speaker 6 (27:06):
Oh you've got to win, You need to win. You
need to pile up the wins as quick as possible.
And it's I keep saying, it's a strange sport and
you can go on a run like that or you
can you can go the other way fairly quickly as well.
And I've done both sort of been at both ends
before and we need to start winning soon. Definitely, when
(27:26):
you're playing in the seven jersey, it's sort of magnifiance
what you're doing every single day. And he does everything
right away from footy and we get judged on the
eighty minutes every week and the number seven is the
first one to get sort of get judged, and he
can be hard on himself, but he knows he's got
the full belief of the club and the players around him. Definitely,
(27:50):
I've been in every position possible as a footy player
and he's got to ride the wave and life's good.
Speaker 4 (27:58):
On the weekend.
Speaker 6 (28:00):
Yeah, he looks a bit sloppy at the moment, Reggie,
so hopefully we can target him, but no, it's going
to be fun. Obviously, new teams and they're in the
similar position as us and it's going to be a
great game. So as I said, as I stated, we
sort of we've got a review done today and put
all that focus into Titans now, and you've got to
move on pretty quickly to make sure your mind's on
(28:21):
the next job. Review our review exactly what I've stated.
We were in the game. We're playing the right footage.
We're twenty minutes ago. We're gonna we're gonna nail a
couple of opportunities. A few things didn't go away calls wise,
and if they do, it's probably a different story.
Speaker 4 (28:36):
But it didn't.
Speaker 6 (28:37):
So this is where we're at, and this is where
we've got to learn and and sort of stick together
and be the team we want to bet. It's pretty hot, mate,
it's hot and humid, but yeah, my focus is down
here on Friday night.
Speaker 2 (28:58):
Yeah, it's good. It's great for the commu unity and
to sort of.
Speaker 6 (29:01):
Spread the rugby league sort of the world to wider
parts of Australia and around and they really get behind.
It's a great, great sort of game to be up
up there playing, but we're down here and focus on Friday.
Speaker 3 (29:15):
In this position.
Speaker 2 (29:15):
Before, been in this position quite a few times is
that more dangerous?
Speaker 6 (29:21):
As I said, Rugular League, every single game you play
is hard. You never go in and know you're going
to win it. It's always hard and you have to
be ready to go, and the time is going to
be no different. Yeah, I've got a couple of black ones,
so my daughter likes painting them so she doesn't have
to look at them. So and I didn't realize how
(29:43):
long it stays on for. So now she's she looks
after me on the toe department. And I had my
fingers done as well, but I've got those off.
Speaker 4 (29:54):
Clap and click, guffer, gupherson. What do you make of
what you had to say there, Billy, Yeah, well.
Speaker 3 (30:01):
He's a true captain, that's for sure. He's just smoking facts.
You know, we could have won all three of those games,
but we just failed to ice them and then the
moments that we needed to. So you know, we're moving forward.
Hopefully start Friday, we can ask these games hopefully win
by mile.
Speaker 4 (30:22):
Yeah, one hundred percent, that's what we need to do
at all, doubt it all. It is all down to
which dragon side does turn up. If it's a dragon side,
it is ready to play, they'll be ready for action.
But if it's a Dragon side that turns up plays
like they did against Paramount, it's going to be a
one hell of a rollercoaster. Isn't a big team?
Speaker 2 (30:40):
Oh for sure? For sure, it's going to be one
hell of the team. Doesn't turn up. If don't turn up,
if we go sliding down the ladder, we'll be down
there with Penrith and Paramount themselves down there. We'll just slide.
You've got to win games back back to back to
make any progress in this in this competition, I had us,
(31:03):
I had us three wings up already plus the buy,
so I'd say, good, I'm going my tipping's not been
going very well, but yeah, we've got to we've got
to play well. Yep.
Speaker 4 (31:16):
Anyway, Well, the team we're playing against on Friday is
the Titans. Now, I'm gonna play a bit of a
clip from the Titans coach des Hasla, just for the
first little part. Scoop he des has I got in
a bit of hot water for this comment. I know
you're you're referees experts. I'll get your take on what
he has to say. Do you agree, I'll play it
(31:39):
and then you can hear it.
Speaker 9 (31:40):
And then you can have your say on it all right,
just for the first minute or so, what's the world too?
Speaker 5 (31:53):
Are such a balure hostas all as Beyonce, Marina Summers,
as Ariana Grande Andrews.
Speaker 10 (32:01):
There's no ways a winge, so don't get down taken
the wrong way and we were moving through will writen.
Speaker 2 (32:10):
But there's a company that I.
Speaker 10 (32:11):
Want to say probably just on behalf at behalf of anybody,
but like the first ten minutes and it's it happened
to tonight and I feel for any other side that
it might happen to.
Speaker 8 (32:25):
Like people pay good money to come and see a
game foot h I just thought, I just think with
this with playing at the head, I just think it's
just it a fears a bit of.
Speaker 2 (32:45):
With the.
Speaker 3 (32:47):
With the intentionally in technical what what the game is about.
Speaker 7 (32:52):
So it's yeah, I don't think of warrants that and
h Christian well they had of winternight, so he probably feeling.
Speaker 2 (33:08):
A bit earlier. And the other one was the bow.
Speaker 3 (33:10):
Firmer tackle like that is a great play.
Speaker 7 (33:14):
That's a great rugby league player, you know, to come
from the other side of the field, to get across
there and to come up with a tri saving tackle
and then gets up and then the referee.
Speaker 3 (33:26):
Saying you've tapped in there on the head. Where's the
It's just a really swalling part of of the game.
Speaker 10 (33:37):
So yeah, it's not quite as bad as matching around
two years ago.
Speaker 3 (33:41):
But yeah, yeah, I find it's disappointing.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
I think it's an I think it's an area.
Speaker 3 (33:49):
That the.
Speaker 7 (33:51):
H that they've got to look at H intentionally, you know,
you know, we'll go before when there's another competition starts
the cool state of origin.
Speaker 3 (34:09):
Yeah, some people, But anyway, that's how much of an impacted.
Speaker 4 (34:16):
All right, So Scoop, give us your thoughts on what
does he has less said about the crackdown.
Speaker 5 (34:21):
Man, Well, I have to I'm gonna have to agree
with this has no one just coming. Actually, the refering
is pretty much coming as soft as I'm going to
tax at a sport. It's becoming as soft as bloody
freaking soccer. It's just still becoming like a right then
(34:42):
you get a little tap on the head this for
and fake your injury. That's what what feels like the
n RL's becoming to they started. It's as much so
is when you get a little tap on the head
or anywhere else on the body. You just like to
drop down and bag an injury just costs. Let's get
(35:05):
your side of penalty. So I'm gonna grows to understone.
I don't think he should beginning a fine referees these days,
my bloody protected spaces.
Speaker 2 (35:17):
Big t I did did you hear? Channel nine and
Foxtel were asked by the NRL to give them copies
of their agenda yep, copies of their agenda for the
for the TV programs and they're off for sixty and
they were asked to put in their agenda so they
(35:40):
could not allowed to talk about referees or refereeing decisions.
And that was that, that was the outcome of it.
Speaker 4 (35:48):
Well, have you have you seen a couple of weeks
ago they were speaking about referees. Gus walked off the panel.
Speaker 5 (35:53):
He doesn't like Yeah, I watched that episode, all right,
And on that, on that, on that infringement thing.
Speaker 2 (36:04):
If a player stays down from a high tackle, he
must leave the field for fifteen minutes because he would
look like he was knocked out.
Speaker 4 (36:16):
He wants a penalty.
Speaker 2 (36:17):
He wants a penalty. So if he stays down, see
how fifteen minutes off you go. Yeah, he stayed down.
He's knocked out. That's what he's had a h I
A said, he wants to play that game and stay
down for a little tap. Look at the one. Look
at the the Tigers game on the weekend.
Speaker 4 (36:41):
That penalty and he wasn't happy.
Speaker 2 (36:43):
That penalty was the softest head high penalty I have
ever seen. He barely touched the bloke and West Tigers
lose the game from it. So if you want to
stay there from a high tackle, whether you get taxed
on the phone or whether you get it. And look
at the Corey Wdell tackle, he didn't even get that off.
Speaker 4 (37:07):
Yeah, but the HUDs nothing in that one. And he
got ten in the pin I.
Speaker 2 (37:11):
Said, he got ten minutes and Corey Wodell hid him
fair across the face with his forearm. Poor Tyrone Wishard.
I think he had to leave the field because he
was j A. Yeah, So if you stay there from
a head on tackle, you must go off the field
for fifteen minutes for ja assessment and that'll stop it.
That'll stop people slaying staying there for the small taps.
Speaker 4 (37:34):
Yeah, and then and then and then yeah, a minute later,
they get up there.
Speaker 2 (37:37):
All right, that's right, exactly right. No, you were on
the ground, you were knocked out. H I a boy,
So yeah, that's coming. That's the way they fix it.
That's the way they fix it.
Speaker 4 (37:50):
Did you think the teenage one was warranted?
Speaker 3 (37:52):
Though?
Speaker 2 (37:53):
I didn't see the one? Sorry? All right?
Speaker 4 (37:58):
Yeah, So looking at the Titans, where do you think
they could get some success over us? Billy, I haven't
got a bad side they had, Big Tea said earlier.
They're too two from four. They do have some strike
weapons and they've got some speedy outside backs. What where
do you think they could get us?
Speaker 3 (38:21):
Well, if we're not aware, they could get us the
back end of the game, you know, very vulnerable at
the back end. So we're there attacking player Brimston Campbell.
You know, they're they're fast, they're speed our counter, so
we need to be we need to be on for
the eighty minutes otherwise we're going to get smoked.
Speaker 2 (38:44):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (38:45):
Now, now, Scoop, now, what what do you think of
Now we saw footage of at the end of that
game against Para on Saturday, Blake Laurie, I I don't
know if player you very much like he was he
was consoling Voldemort at the end of that game. A
lot of Dragons fans weren't too happy about that. How
(39:08):
did you see it?
Speaker 5 (39:13):
I didn't really see it, Jase. I pretty much turned
off the game as soon as Voldemort keep the field goals.
Speaker 4 (39:20):
So yeah, Blake Laurie was consoling him, he was crying.
Speaker 2 (39:26):
Was that in discussed, Scoop? He turned away in disgust. Yes, yeah,
I couldn't have write a better script for Paramount Paramo supporters,
couldn't have write couldn't have written a better.
Speaker 4 (39:39):
Script getting.
Speaker 2 (39:42):
That's right, yeah, and then losing Here do you go?
How do you go? Did you see that?
Speaker 4 (39:48):
Did you see those two Dragons fans doing the guff arena?
Speaker 5 (39:51):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (39:55):
A Paramra supporter got the last life we lost.
Speaker 5 (39:58):
Yeah, so I was looking for a punch up that
happened in the crowd.
Speaker 2 (40:03):
I think James Sammie, James Sammage wasn't too happy. No,
what you could.
Speaker 4 (40:12):
That's two games this year that they'd led by twelve
and have been able to finish the job. I mean, yeah,
that's just not good enough in today's game. As I
did watch on Sunday Show, I Scoop, you were on
that show, we discussed that well discussion. Part of the
discussion was we tried to defend the lead instead of
(40:34):
instead of trying to put the foot on the front
and try and pile on more points. In this day
and age, you can't. We're not a team that can
defend a lead.
Speaker 5 (40:43):
Can't know. We're not a team that can't defend. I
can't remember what was said on the Sunday show.
Speaker 2 (40:51):
It was like, yeah, drugs, he's getting memory. Well, I've
got memory loss for the weekend too, Like forget what happened, Yeah,
forget what happened. I of the kids.
Speaker 3 (41:16):
Yes, you know what the problem is. We can defend,
we can defend fine, but when we keep making stupid
errors in our twenty meters, that's when we struggle because
we're putting ourselves up in pressure. We can't keep doing pressure.
We can't. That's the problem.
Speaker 4 (41:35):
We can't keep Yeah, and we have so many cheap
penalties away as well.
Speaker 3 (41:41):
Yeah, it's just stupid. It's just basic errors fundamentals. And
I think that's what Champion has been saying.
Speaker 2 (41:49):
You know, yeah, right, I rade on Sunday, I was
not on Sunday Shape, and I rode on right on
in the check that we played dumb football to the
last half an hour. We just made so many stupid mistakes.
But like you said, like it was unbelievable, we just
played stupid football. You were done and we were done.
Speaker 4 (42:13):
No one took the field goal either, like to make it.
Speaker 5 (42:19):
Yeah, but you almost had.
Speaker 4 (42:23):
Was a try. But that's a fifty to fifty one.
Speaker 2 (42:27):
That was close.
Speaker 5 (42:29):
That was closed. They should have been a try every
day of the week. The Tyrell Slane try.
Speaker 4 (42:34):
But the right, the right call was made though he
did have his foot on the line. When he did,
he had the ball on the line. So that is
the rules, as you would know, scoop, if you you've
got the foot on the line as well as the
ball on the line.
Speaker 5 (42:54):
The line. I was watching replays of the line. It
was like a smidge.
Speaker 2 (43:00):
I think it doesn't matter. Every just needs to know
him like he was on the line. If the board
like if it had been if it had been one
of the top teams had been Melbourne had been such
and such ram Melbourne.
Speaker 5 (43:17):
We've gone away with to try, yeah we've But.
Speaker 4 (43:21):
Anyway, anyway, we'll get get into where where we'll get
all our viewers involved where we'll get your thinking caps
get into this ship. Well, my question is tonight regarding
(44:23):
our first ever game against the Titans in wollong back
in two thousand and seven, so we had where the
Dragons won that game quite comfortably. Um, I'll just make
it more a little bit easier for everyone. Not everyone
will remember it, but exactly what was the margin the
(44:45):
Dragons won by in that game? So it was between
one and twenty. So let's see how you go and
fire away in the comments first game in Wollongong. Is
that your brother again, Billy?
Speaker 2 (45:03):
Yeah, you must be.
Speaker 3 (45:06):
My dad. He must be just sitting me.
Speaker 5 (45:11):
Quick to say so much to Johnson eighteen.
Speaker 4 (45:18):
He's quick so well, Pete Well, Peter V and James Savage,
you've got it right. But that was our game at
sun Court, the very first game. I'm talking. I said
the game in woman.
Speaker 5 (45:35):
I Hammad did saying sixteen.
Speaker 4 (45:37):
Which Rugby League round up has got right? Billy eighteen,
he's sitting with my father.
Speaker 3 (45:45):
I guarantee you.
Speaker 4 (45:49):
The Dragons won the game twenty eight points to ten.
Back in two thousand and seven. Tony Archer was the
referee in that game and we won the game twenty
points to ten. We tries to Wes Naguama, Jason Nightingal
Kor and Corey Payne, Adam Peak and Ashton Simms, Maddy
Head kicking three goals, Wesley quam bekicking one goal for
(46:12):
the Titans, Matt Peterson and Scott Prince got to try
and Matt Rodgers kicked the goal. The Dragon's winning twenty
eight points to ten. But here's here is an interesting
stat though. We are playing again in this game at
win Stadium on Friday night and big t we the
Dragons have won all six games against the Gold Coast
Titans at Wins Stadium in will Well.
Speaker 2 (46:34):
We've got twenty two eleven head ahead. So then we're
going to beat him somewhere else will go well was
the fortress mainly can't bread us down there, Titans can't
bread us down there. Yeah, we're going to beat him
again anyway, so hopefully we will. We will be confident,
(46:56):
not hatefully, will be confident we'll win. So Wollgong will
be our Winigong Fortress.
Speaker 4 (47:03):
And most most games where we've beaten the Titans we
won quite well. There has been close games over the
years though that most of them have been so yes,
as I said, twenty seven, twenty eight, ten, two thousand
and eight we won thirty to twelve. Twenty nine was
sixteen ten, twenty twelve we won eight six twenty. Our
(47:30):
next meeting in will was not till twenty twenty two,
which we won forty six twenty six, and then last
year we won thirty two points to sixteen. So yeah,
it's pretty much convincing results in favor of the Dragons.
Speaker 2 (47:44):
Billy.
Speaker 3 (47:46):
Yeah, we're going to keep it that way. We've got
to just keep it that way.
Speaker 4 (47:52):
Ye, Now, Scoop, we'll go into this one.
Speaker 10 (47:58):
Now.
Speaker 4 (47:59):
There has been a lot to talk about what Jacob
Little's role is for the team, where he does come
on and where he doesn't do. You think it's more
of a game by game proposition of who we are
up against or what Flanner is thinking, how he brings
him into the game.
Speaker 5 (48:17):
Oh, this comes out every time one night when we
talk about it. I'm always the one that goes to
asked about this. It's just coach Flanno's ship, poor decisions
on how he uses his bench properly. I've always that's it.
I'm not talking anymore about it.
Speaker 4 (48:40):
What do you want to take a big t take
what mate, So I'm just doing some little Jacob Little's
juice off the bench how he's used by It needs.
Speaker 2 (48:50):
To be used more. It needs to come on just
before halftime. Take Cookie off just before halftime. Lina needs
to play the first ten minutes in the second half,
then you get taken off again and then come back
back on with ten minutes ago and him a Cookie
can run, right. That's what they're gonna do. They've got
that's tag places tag one play one play, run Dumby half,
(49:12):
next play run Dumby half, and just run the run
the hip, run the try forward Dragon. That's how you.
Speaker 4 (49:22):
And Billy. Many people are confused with which Dragon side
will turn up. I mean, we turn up and beat
the competition favorites in the Melbourne Storm, and we come
out and lose to the Wooden Spooner's Paramount. I mean,
is consistency really our issue again as it was last year?
Speaker 2 (49:40):
Yeah?
Speaker 3 (49:40):
I hope, I hope not, my friend, if it's very
early in the season, and if we can fix it now,
that'd be great, knock it out. But the answer to
the inconsistencies, I don't know, because we're in consisted, We're
like a box of choggers, mate, you just don't know
what we're going to get on our day. We really don't.
(50:00):
So yeah, you just gotta pray, hope you know we
turned up?
Speaker 5 (50:09):
Yeah, yeah, growth the kids on this one, yep.
Speaker 2 (50:14):
And on that.
Speaker 4 (50:15):
The Titans, they they've shown that they've got a lot
of points in them. Scooped that they had their had
a big loss to the Dolphins last Saturday. But when
they're on, they are wrong. They can pile on the
points quickly, can't they? And des has like can can
can coach scoop Well, so again I'll dismissed that if
(50:38):
the Dragons get complacent and don't turn up, the Titans
are a team that can pile on the points and
give us a bar.
Speaker 5 (50:45):
Definitely. They've done that to the previous teams that they're
played against in the past few weeks. I would not
be surprised if we turn off your attack again like
what we did last week and they just just pile
points on us.
Speaker 4 (51:00):
Best way, big table, What do you think the Dragons
have to fix to get to go on? With these
leads we're seeing it against South? What must we do
to keep the points flowing.
Speaker 2 (51:14):
Stop making mistakes. We make too many mistakes. We missed
too many tackles. Stop making mistakes. Hold on the ball.
You did at Penriff last year Penriff for the least
mistaked team in the competition, they won the corp. You've
gotta not make mistakes. You got hold on the ball.
You remember, back back before nine and sixty seven it
(51:35):
was unmber to tackle. Just hold the ball. You couldn't
lose the game if you held them. Yeah, if you
hold the ball, you don't lose a game. You can't
make mistakes, yes, hmm. And in the league they're in,
it's a it's a savage league, and you make mistakes,
you gotta get punished. Yeah, so you laid a goodbye. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (51:56):
And a lot of people have pointed out that, oh,
it was PARAMOUNTA. They I have got a very young
side under Jason Ryles. But a lot of people said,
you can't. It's the NRL. You can't take anyone lightly
these days, and if you do, that's what will happen,
isn't it right?
Speaker 11 (52:13):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (52:18):
Anyway, Well, we'll go into this. We don't have cocoa
one tonight, but we'll go into we'll go into Billy's
battles where you can. Let's go into it and we'll yeah, well,
you can talk us through on who you think the
key matchup.
Speaker 9 (52:34):
So is it they're.
Speaker 2 (52:35):
Slugging it out in the middle of the few.
Speaker 3 (52:42):
The Dragon's belt row is not this block.
Speaker 2 (52:47):
It's time to look at the one on one battles
that will decide the dame. Will it be the chief
position words, will.
Speaker 3 (52:55):
The fight be out wide or will.
Speaker 1 (52:58):
It be water up rocks?
Speaker 4 (53:21):
All right, Billy, so take us for your key battles
for this game on Friday night.
Speaker 3 (53:25):
Yep, okay, So for this week's battles we have I have.
The most important one for me is the battle of
the back rowers. So that is both match ups Lucian
and both Firm and James and Police hast That is
going to be key. That is going to be really key.
If we can get over the back rowers, we have
(53:49):
a really strong performance and we've gotta win. We're gotta
win the middle. If we can win the middle, we're
gonna go far away to winning this game. So you know,
the edge back rowers got to get over him, and
that's gonna be that's gonna be a tough matchup, but
I think we can definitely do it. And another matchup
I'm willing to go with. Let me see, I think
(54:13):
Moses Sully and was Brian Kelly and down Huns feel
Sammy so the sendate bearings as well, so out on
their edges a lot is going to be real where
we should pose a lot of danger. Both center pearings
are very strong, like they're strong solo players, so that
(54:33):
should be good to see.
Speaker 4 (54:38):
And that's what you got on that yeap, That is
all I am all right, But we'll throw over to
you big Tea or Scoop, so you throw in any
bit battles you have as well. Where do you think
where do you think there could be some key matchups.
Speaker 2 (54:54):
In this game? You can go first make.
Speaker 5 (55:01):
I've got the battle in the halves, depending on who
is the more dominant halves pairing will win their teams
battle for the field, territory and kicking and most of
much players on the on the day or at night.
(55:22):
Throws over to you, mister big t.
Speaker 2 (55:25):
Exactly the same mate that the Spies are going to
be the key to this game depends on how the
fullbacks showing locks go on left and to and outside
is it homes isn't it? You get him on that
side anyway, anyway, get him down that side, I think,
(55:47):
I think how sporing will be better than their spy.
Speaker 4 (55:52):
Yeah, well what Jaalen degreats only what three or four
games to win his career. Brimson and Campbell are very excited.
They're not that sort of game managers. They're more all
off the cuff players. They play what's in front of them.
Speaker 2 (56:05):
Yeah, amxed bag.
Speaker 4 (56:09):
Yeah, But on his day he's a very underrated player.
Sam berrels. He's a very good distributor of the ball,
so he could be very dangerous for us, for us
if we're not too careful. He's a player too that
that can pop out of dummy half, and we've we've
shown that when we're when we're when we're sleeping around
that on the goal line. If sam Beryl snaffs out
(56:32):
a try from dummy half, be very careful, he'll get over.
Speaker 5 (56:37):
Just a fit on sam Fel's to see. There was
reports late last year he is looking at a move
back to Sydney, but I'm not sure if that's still
going ahead or not, because the Rousters have signed them
men former Dragon's player Ruce Robson. But by looks of it,
(56:59):
Sam Fell could be under our Gold Coast Titans.
Speaker 4 (57:03):
Oh is that your latest scoop?
Speaker 2 (57:06):
Is it?
Speaker 5 (57:08):
What's that's what I've heard. I'm not sure it's true everywhere?
Speaker 4 (57:15):
Okay he says, like his article yesterday, I'm trying Adam Reynolds.
Speaker 1 (57:33):
Is that.
Speaker 4 (57:35):
No, since they signed Hunt, they don't have space form
cap space for him to keep him next year. Interesting,
but he does not want to come back to Sydney's.
Speaker 5 (57:57):
Yeah and DC. He doesn't want to uproot his family
to go back to Queenslands. So there could be some
shifting in of the half backs in the player market
this year.
Speaker 4 (58:08):
Adam Renold has been moved linked to a move to
the Super League and there is an offer on the table.
Whether or not he wants to move his young family
to the to the other side of the world, I'm
not too sure.
Speaker 5 (58:20):
Oh, j just see. Also the other thing I've just
heard from the Super League there could be another two
clubs in financial crisis and it's both the French clubs
I'm hearing.
Speaker 4 (58:34):
Okay, big t now, just another thing that's come out today.
I'm not sure if you've seen this, Scoop. The Nrrella
looking to invest into a thirty three percent ownership of
the super League. Would you like to see the super
League to improve the competition over there?
Speaker 5 (58:51):
Big t.
Speaker 2 (58:53):
It was my turn, Scoop. Come on, I'll put you
on muting.
Speaker 5 (58:56):
You mentioned both of us.
Speaker 2 (58:57):
I'll put you on.
Speaker 4 (58:59):
I didn't say that's a big tea.
Speaker 2 (59:02):
Put you on mute.
Speaker 3 (59:04):
Ye'll be good to get.
Speaker 2 (59:05):
Then on into the English. I'm not sure why the
English super League is the hemorrhaging money. There's no money anyway.
I don't know why I only played across mostly north
of England. Maybe they have to I don't know about
the French clubs. If if if scoops saying the French
(59:27):
clubs are in trouble, maybe they have to go.
Speaker 3 (59:32):
I'm pretty sure South folding.
Speaker 2 (59:37):
I can't.
Speaker 5 (59:39):
They've already released on Clam Watkins. That's all back confirmed
fat Collum Watkins. He's going back to Leeds Rhinos. But
it sounds fair. I think South it's the next club
to get folded. They've already one club has already folded
in the UK League last week, which.
Speaker 1 (01:00:01):
Was the.
Speaker 5 (01:00:03):
I can't remember, no, no, I wasn't London.
Speaker 1 (01:00:08):
No, it was.
Speaker 4 (01:00:17):
All right, I find because the super League we do
want to see this the game in England get better
as well, because we want to see England get better
on the world stage. And we see a lot of
players that do come out there. There are some talented
players that have come out here. And you look at
the Paraders as a prime example. They always go scouting
to get players from the UK and then they turn
(01:00:39):
out right and hopefully we can see more and a
lot of Sam Burgess. I remember him saying a few
months ago, we don't want to we don't want to
keep losing players to the NRAL. They want to keep
their own game going over there. Because you look at
all the NRL players that go over there, they become.
Speaker 2 (01:00:56):
Super superstars, superstars.
Speaker 4 (01:00:59):
They not the same player here playing reserve.
Speaker 2 (01:01:04):
It's not playing reserve. If Billy Burns went to the UK,
he'd be a superstar, I'll tell you would he went
to the UK be a superstar and right, Donny and
the right right, Yes, he'd be a superstar.
Speaker 5 (01:01:19):
I found.
Speaker 2 (01:01:22):
Who wasn't Scoop.
Speaker 5 (01:01:23):
It was Cornwall Rubber League Football Club FATS folder.
Speaker 4 (01:01:29):
I don't think they.
Speaker 5 (01:01:32):
They're in the third Tier clump over there. So you've
got the Super League and then you've got the Championship
and friend of you've got the third Division.
Speaker 2 (01:01:44):
Yeah, unfortunate it happens, and it sounds.
Speaker 5 (01:01:48):
At Salford and Sufford's going to be next because it's
not looking good for him and in the next few years.
I wouldn't be surprised if Catalan tigans and they are
the Olympics, Louise Olympics goes. I think that's what how
(01:02:08):
you pronounce them, the two French clubs because by some
of it, there's been reports from Catalan Dragons fans in
that scene they're not it doesn't they don't feel welcome
in the Super League, the Catalan Dragons.
Speaker 4 (01:02:28):
All right, we'll continue, we'll get we'll break things up
a little bit again and a little bit of an
r l W content now. So yes, we saw some
footage the other day with new coach Nathan Cross which
well we tip Will big t when I'm and scoot
with no some of the players in the air. I'm
not sure if you watch aneral Will, but yeah, who
(01:02:51):
would be the who would be the most likely player
that is in the coaches heresy?
Speaker 12 (01:03:10):
Maybe flash I say flash flash flash of the clash
flash probably probably taken very clash Charlotte fashion. Okay, see
what you actually Erican Zalie Hopkins, Zali or Bash.
Speaker 5 (01:03:24):
They talk a lot, Bash, Charlotte Bash.
Speaker 4 (01:03:27):
What do you say to the girls? Said it would be.
Speaker 5 (01:03:31):
Evident?
Speaker 2 (01:03:35):
Yea question the.
Speaker 5 (01:03:40):
Backund word Charlotte bashing shout.
Speaker 4 (01:03:47):
Oh now what what do you take that?
Speaker 2 (01:03:51):
One?
Speaker 4 (01:03:52):
Big t?
Speaker 2 (01:03:56):
Yeah? I don't know. I'm not there watching the girls,
but Charlotte Bastie was carrying carrying the the flags back.
So Wilson one wash, there you go, Brodie Wilson. Then
there you go. She's just stuck up. Brodie Wilson is
the one.
Speaker 4 (01:04:12):
Everybody else And we did have some emerl W news
the other day. Ala Costa resigned for a further two season.
Speaker 2 (01:04:20):
Scoop.
Speaker 5 (01:04:21):
That's good to hear, isn't she like the eighteen nineteens
in our fight she's on.
Speaker 4 (01:04:28):
She's not she's twenty. She's nineteen right now. I think
she's twenty. Next year, I think.
Speaker 5 (01:04:32):
Roughing around my age or Beliz. Yeah, that's good to
hear because when we were talking about last year, Jesse,
you and I when we were when we were commentating
you and I were going to a bit righte. If
no off our junior is going to we're going to
get resigned or pushed up to first grade for the
(01:04:55):
women's That's really good to hear, But there prioritizing our
juniors over I'm from getting played from other clubs.
Speaker 4 (01:05:08):
Now be big t. One of the players we have
signed as well, Brooke Anderson, player coming over from Coronella,
has played two Grand finals with Paramatter and Coronella. She's
played tests for New Zealand, I think nine or ten tests.
They's played one Origin Pine South Wales as well. How
good would it be to have someone of her experience
at the club.
Speaker 2 (01:05:27):
It's gonna be great to have her experience at the club.
She's next year, but she's played Grand finals with Corn
and Paramountain or one of the top sides again this year,
so yeah, it'd be great to have her over come
over and tell the girls the experience, how they how
they go to field when they do actually get to
(01:05:51):
the get to the top. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:05:57):
Yeah, and yes they did lose a lot of players,
but as Muhammad did is just highlighted there. But yeah,
I heard a lot of good things about what Sam
Bremner is doing, and also the new coach nap and Cross,
and maybe we'll get some insights on how how the
girls like he's coaching, and we'll get into that closer
(01:06:17):
to the season, and that is a few months away
though they will start pre season training very shortly. Actually, Yeah,
so we'll get into we'll get into something a bit
different now, so we'll go into So a lot of
(01:06:38):
Ben talk about the Friday six o'clock game. Not a
lot of a crowd normally goes to the Friday six.
Is Win Stadium in the right place and the right
time for a six o'clock game on a Friday, Billy,
particularly people coming from work and those coming from Sydney.
Speaker 3 (01:06:55):
Yeah, that's going to be behind bersonally for Will, and
I think Sodays Saturday four pm matches and Cracker there
and even a Saturday Saturday for thirty match will be bad.
Six is a bit hard for everyone because of and
because Will have gone to a bit of a travel
(01:07:16):
for people coming from Sydney.
Speaker 4 (01:07:20):
Yeah, what what yours the big team? You're you're being
an avid fan of the of the game, but six
pm Friday time slot, what's your take on the game
at Win stadium.
Speaker 2 (01:07:32):
Well, it's good for the people that that work downly win.
It's great for them to get there after the game,
after work out of the game, finish at five o'clock,
I have a bit of dinner and then going to
the game. What's the six o'clock game? Again? Like what
I believe was saying, the travel is a bit a
bit sus people caring down from Sydney. They finished work
till five. You're not going to get their back kick off,
(01:07:53):
so what go you know, Yes, it is a bit
of a bit of time. It's for TV and that's
what it's there for, and that's what all the games
are there for for TV. So yeah, I don't worry.
I don't worry about the fan. It's all for TV.
Speaker 5 (01:08:14):
Mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (01:08:16):
That's not one that concerns the Dragons as march. But
I did see a clip today. But it's actually a
good point. There are no games in Sydney at all
this weekend. Thursday we've got a game, Okay, Friday we've
got Wollongong and Brisbane. Saturday i've got games in Perth
(01:08:36):
and Darwin, and Sundays we've got games in Melbourne and Newcastle.
What is the general thinking with this schedule not to
have one game in Sydney, I am.
Speaker 5 (01:08:48):
Going to throw one of our mates under the bars
and in the captain of our pod guys and Donny
Bell who might go watch a game for us in
Perth and go behind to two of the teams getting
the mid lines to help us out. I think what
(01:09:09):
they're trying to do now the NLS just spread games
all around the country to get more like more of
the young kids and not unfold, like Brent, what do
you call it, try to brend the community closer, to
try to outplay the AFL or rugby union because now
(01:09:32):
and also rubby union's kind of dying off sport. And
maybe please donate me for this one, Billy. But I
see we call it soccer. I'm not sure what you
call it soccer football, but I don't care if treat.
(01:09:55):
What they're trying to do is I think they're trying
to beat some of the other sports to make it
more of a worldwide game and more of a nationwide game,
to bring more people in. And like what you're in
Chestsworth saying, big T is all about them, but the
Dosh these days they don't really care about the fans.
(01:10:15):
They just want to bring in in the money and
try to go worldwide in the future.
Speaker 4 (01:10:25):
Anything to add on that big team. No games in
Sydney this weekend.
Speaker 2 (01:10:30):
Because as a break gives the transport break on the weekend.
But yeah, it's a bit strange not having a game
in Sydney because people out there do go to that
the non supportive team games as well, So yeah, it's
a bit strange, but it happens. Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:10:51):
And another another clip that we did see through the
week behind the scenes of the ann w side who
is doing a little bit of training as we speak,
and yeah, let's have a look and see what they've
been up to in this in this in this build
up to the new season, a big off.
Speaker 12 (01:11:15):
Season, what have you been up to?
Speaker 5 (01:11:16):
Tell us at the moment, I'm just working.
Speaker 12 (01:11:23):
So if you couldn't hear in the background, the girls
have been given llowship because we've got the lips some
I've had the extensions put in and the nails are fake,
so you can tell that it's the off season. It's
really inside Bossy. This is our TikTok influenza, influenza so
so on our hair for the occasion. So what have
(01:11:44):
you been up to? Let the fans know, let the
let the community know what Sophie Clancy has been doing.
Speaker 3 (01:11:51):
Working full time as an electrical apprentice and spending time
with my family and enjoying Sydney.
Speaker 12 (01:11:58):
There you go, tell us about your I was experience made.
It was your first ever one, got an awesome Try
to tell us about the week.
Speaker 5 (01:12:06):
Honestly the most amazing week.
Speaker 12 (01:12:08):
Dinner dates with this one here, No, but yeah, it
was good to get in with the culture and obviously
yeah that week was amazing. So Bossy, what have you
been doing now that you finished school finally eighteen? What
have you been up to?
Speaker 5 (01:12:21):
Just chilling? Put on ten kegs?
Speaker 3 (01:12:24):
She's getting big, Yeah, yep, TikTok's working.
Speaker 5 (01:12:29):
I've got a job, first job I've ever been good.
Speaker 3 (01:12:32):
Got money in the bank.
Speaker 12 (01:12:34):
Yeah, it's going to our S and C. He's gonna
be the one putting us through the pain. So crossy,
cross cross. He's back in our SMC for this year.
Are you going to absolutely flog us pre season in
fifty one days?
Speaker 2 (01:12:48):
That is the plan.
Speaker 5 (01:12:48):
Yes, unfortunately for you guys, but very.
Speaker 2 (01:12:51):
Fortunately for me.
Speaker 12 (01:12:53):
Cussy, Hello on the mic today, first time head coach
and w Dragons, How are you feeling about it?
Speaker 3 (01:13:01):
All?
Speaker 2 (01:13:01):
Excited?
Speaker 11 (01:13:02):
It's challenging having to coach people like yourself, you know,
like characters in the game. Look, it's really exciting. We've
got a good young group here, big challenge ahead, but
I think a lot of people are going to underestimate
us and we'll catch a few off guards. So look
out twenty twenty five, we just had.
Speaker 12 (01:13:20):
A quip team meeting about you know, what we can
do on the ground to be a better as a
group and as a team. So what did you take
away from what the girl spoke about today? And you
know what Dragons fans and the rest of the competition
is going to see that they haven't seen before.
Speaker 2 (01:13:36):
Yeah.
Speaker 11 (01:13:37):
Look, I think for us, it's obviously as we spoke
about inside of building that trust and you know, being
comfortable sort of being uncomfortable with certain things that it
doesn't always come easy. And if we can get a
lot of that stuff right personally within our group, then
our footy your flow and look out you heard.
Speaker 5 (01:13:54):
Her here first.
Speaker 3 (01:13:54):
Look out?
Speaker 12 (01:13:55):
Well there you have it a little inside to what
the girls and the coaching staff have been up to
in this little off season. We've got a little session now.
The girls are already waiting. I'm late, so I probably
already have a fine, so better get to it, I think.
Speaker 5 (01:14:10):
So who's the captain for the for.
Speaker 3 (01:14:12):
Our girls this year?
Speaker 5 (01:14:13):
Jesse?
Speaker 4 (01:14:14):
As far as I know, it's still racing McGregor. Okay, anyway,
sorry that the young rounds today and they're looking at
medically retiring. Tom eisnives that could be happening, Big Tea.
Speaker 2 (01:14:31):
Didn't hear that. I didn't hear that. But if he's
not not medically fit to pay, you're going to have
to medically retire, aren't you. You can't have him sitting
on the bench. Take it up space.
Speaker 4 (01:14:44):
He got. He only lasted a few minutes playing New
South Whil's Cup and it was heavily concussed in that game.
So and being at his age, it may be a.
Speaker 2 (01:14:53):
Long way back for him, could be, could be look
at look at what's his name from from the from
the Roosters, the captain from the Roosters, No, no, no,
the captain years ago, Cordner got knocked out several times
in the game that ended up over the finishing his career.
So you're gonna watch her head head knocks. James Graham
(01:15:18):
has donated his brain designs after he days.
Speaker 4 (01:15:23):
Victor Radley is another player that that's that's happening to
you right currently.
Speaker 2 (01:15:26):
Exactly right. Yeah, we just hit their heads in the
wrong spot. Sam as Leam Fuldon from the Tigers all
those years ago, he was the same got his head
in the wrong spot every time and got knocked out
several times, and he had to retire because of h
I H I a injury. So head injury. So I
gotta watch out for them in the game.
Speaker 4 (01:15:49):
Yeah, but it would free up I don't know how
much exactly Tom Wison is on, but.
Speaker 2 (01:15:55):
It wouldn't go three fifty maybe.
Speaker 4 (01:15:58):
What do you make of it, Billy? Do you think
if if he is unfit to play, would the Dragons
get some cap dispensation or what? What do you think
should happen? Do you think the Dragons We'll try to
around this one very carefully. What do you think they
should should do in regards this? If he is no
(01:16:19):
longer going to play, and he's shown no signs of
these his signs are no good? How do you how
would you go about this?
Speaker 3 (01:16:31):
To be honest, I would look within if he had
to go down. Maybe someone from the supplementary list come
up to the top thirty. That helps us. I think
there's not much players we can sign at the moment,
so there's not much around during this time of the season.
Dylan Walker was a lucky buy that comes about every
(01:16:55):
now and then. But you know, I don't know this
has been you know, Tom aisen goat mart I liked
his effort. Look here, he wasn't flashy or anything, but
he did try. He didn't give it his all way
out there, so you know, all the best to him.
Hopefully he keeps playing. If not, in his future endeavors,
(01:17:20):
all the best for him.
Speaker 2 (01:17:23):
Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:17:23):
Do you have anything to add on that? Scoop any
any words you want to say?
Speaker 5 (01:17:27):
Well, I was going to say, Tom Irrison, who if
you do retire, thank you for your service and good
luck to your own future endeavors. And never stay out
of the game. Mate is keeping the game. I'm going
to a coaching role or to media role like formal
players have in the past, but never keep out of
(01:17:50):
the game of the Great Rubby League.
Speaker 4 (01:17:54):
As Mohammed Dib said, sell it only lasted two minutes.
I think in that new suppars Cup game too. He's
just he just can't stay on the field, can he?
Big t.
Speaker 2 (01:18:06):
Now, last year you got that one of the illness
or disease or whatever he got towards the end of
the year.
Speaker 4 (01:18:12):
Pardon something something probably is hard or something.
Speaker 2 (01:18:15):
Yeah, something or something. I'm not sure, but maybe he
hasn't recovered from that. Maybe it's it's something to do
with that. I'm not sure about. How am i sale?
Mm hmmm mm hmm.
Speaker 4 (01:18:32):
Now we're talking into where this game could be one
or lost. So Friday, Yes, that game against the Titans.
It's only it's only round six. But why is this?
Why must we start winning games now, Scoop?
Speaker 5 (01:18:45):
Because if we don't win this week, you can all
but pretty much rule us out if we do against
the Titans for a race for the eight and finals.
So we must win this wre in first week's game
to in the race, and if not, that's pretty much
our season over.
Speaker 4 (01:19:05):
But Billy, what do you think we've got to do
in this one? What must we do? And how crucial
is it that we must win this one? Do you
agree with Scoop that it's pretty much Mush must win.
Speaker 3 (01:19:21):
Every game.
Speaker 2 (01:19:23):
When you're down.
Speaker 3 (01:19:29):
We've had the why and the win. We need to
start piling on some victories, especially against teams that you know,
I feel like we can beat. I definitely think we
can be times where can we beat them. Look, if
we just play our game like we played against Melbourne,
where we were gritty, we got down in the dirt
(01:19:51):
and we just pushed to it. I think we can
definitely have a chance at least, you know, not like
these past couple of weeks, we West Para and see
Us and you know, we just fall apart in the
last fifteen to twenty minutes. So it's got to defend
makes my decisions. Don't even rush right, Just use your brain.
(01:20:12):
You use your brain, you win the game yet.
Speaker 2 (01:20:18):
A hundred mate, Pretty use your brain. You've gotta be
smart to play football that make mistakes against see Us
in Paramount, I had them both go both them games
there for a win for us, Like we led by twelve.
Win both games. We should have We should have beat them,
we should have put them away. But in both games
(01:20:38):
we closed up shop. We thought we had it. We've
got to win here, boys, we've got thirty five minutes
to go. We've got to win. Let's go, let's close
up shop. Bullshit, you play for fucking nineteen minutes. Like
I said about I had to see house in paramount
as wins. We should We should have been three wins
and a bye with the two losses coming against the border.
(01:21:00):
Was in the storm, but we beat the storm. So,
like I said, my footy tip and my footy tip
and ship, I think I'm down the bottom. I'm sure anyway, Yeah,
we've got to win. We've got to win. We've got
to build confidence. Conference builds wins. When wins been the
wins build confidence. So we've got to win to build
(01:21:22):
that confidence and have a culture of winning. With the
last five years, the last tes seven years, we've had
a culture of losing. We need a culture of winning.
And we brought the players in that we can win
with the experienced four hundred odd games experience between three
players we brought into our side. Why are we using
(01:21:44):
it like has got to stop stupidly, has got to
stupidly stop giving away these captain's challenges as well. We're
going to need them late in the game some games,
and if we lose them early, we've got no checks.
Look at look at look at the the Shade Dweller,
(01:22:07):
Todd Todd what Tod Smith?
Speaker 1 (01:22:09):
Is it?
Speaker 4 (01:22:10):
Tod Smith?
Speaker 5 (01:22:11):
Crowd?
Speaker 2 (01:22:12):
He made that mistakes. The other night there was four
captains challenges, all successful. How can I first grade referee
get that? Many may have that been the areas. If
captains are challenging four times in the game and he's
got it wrong four times, it's it's just not on.
Speaker 3 (01:22:33):
It's not on.
Speaker 5 (01:22:36):
Dose say some of the referees that we always have
hate us.
Speaker 2 (01:22:41):
I wouldn't say. I say. I say they scrutinize us.
Scrutinize us more than other teams. That's what I'm going
to say. They don't hate us. We get scrutinized more.
If you have a look at the when he goes
up to the up to the bunker, they look at
that replay three or four times, five or six times.
At other clubs they just look at once and go, yeah, right,
(01:23:05):
don't worry about it. They always look, always look for
a chance that we didn't score. All right. You have
the school team, the spot.
Speaker 4 (01:23:13):
Team, that's the score team.
Speaker 2 (01:23:15):
So yes, sport team, your boys.
Speaker 4 (01:23:18):
On Friday, that'll be at the I'm not too sure
whether it's going to be before the game or at
halftime during the game. But Scoop, we'll get you to
run through the other school Dragons will be taking on
the school Raiders that they do have every year. So
take us through the school dragons lineup.
Speaker 5 (01:23:39):
All right, We've got at number seventeen. I don't know
if it's five positions.
Speaker 2 (01:23:44):
Or I meant numbers.
Speaker 5 (01:23:46):
Just named just name Scoop, Renton, Ashford Potter, James A Summer,
Samil Bigger Well, Mitchell Berlin, fit that Jet, Nick Kya, Chalker,
(01:24:11):
Harry cost you now, Justin Costa, Yeah, Yeah, Anthony the Bruin,
h Lawrence Duncan, Sane Guitara, Yeah, Sack Gross, Gross City,
(01:24:32):
Matthew Hunter, Josh that yet color Philly, Justin Cures, Yeah,
Adam Knight, Sean loves Josh Lyons. I'm not sure if
he's related to Brent, Matthew Lyons and Britt Lyons. Yeah,
(01:24:52):
and get any McHenry, James Phipps, Tommy Towskyki Stalin. I'm
not sure if he's alloated to Josh Darling, Corey's Shipstone,
Jake had Lowe, Bryan Singleton, Michael Taylor.
Speaker 2 (01:25:19):
With Michael Taylor, Jake Walsh.
Speaker 5 (01:25:23):
He might be related to reach Walsh, but not sure
and like you last whoever taking it back to Central
Commentary to Jesse, that's good to say.
Speaker 2 (01:25:37):
They sorry, Jess. Is there only two score teams? Camera?
Speaker 4 (01:25:44):
That's always the Dragons and Raiders playing every year.
Speaker 2 (01:25:46):
Always Dragons and Raiders. I don't know. Have other teams
have a score team? But they what the what the
score team is? It's the disabled kids intellectual internet, all disabilities,
some going autism.
Speaker 5 (01:26:06):
I've got a disability, big Tea, have you yep, being diagnosed.
I've got autism and dyslexia. So that's why I read
out Sunday names and if I struggle, I've got dyslexia.
Speaker 2 (01:26:21):
But you can get a round of this game. I
could with the crickets cricket. Can you play for the Scoope?
Speaker 5 (01:26:36):
Yes I can. I I was a house player and
a hooker back in March school team school. I was
also the captain.
Speaker 2 (01:26:49):
Whoa, I was a hooker to Scoop. I didn't make
a lot of money.
Speaker 5 (01:26:53):
I'm actually played in the halves or.
Speaker 2 (01:26:56):
When I read.
Speaker 4 (01:26:59):
And then as on that our referee this week too
is Chris Butler? Actually is that referee? I just well
captain Donnie Cheered the record under him today we've had
fifteen matches under him as he's as referee. We've won
six from fifteen. The Titans have one six from thirty.
Speaker 2 (01:27:20):
Six from thirty.
Speaker 5 (01:27:23):
They will win this season.
Speaker 2 (01:27:25):
I think he must be there. Chris Sutton, did you Sutton?
One of the Sutturn boys for them? Yo?
Speaker 5 (01:27:32):
Actually done Klein.
Speaker 2 (01:27:35):
Well.
Speaker 4 (01:27:36):
Chris Butler was recently dropped to Queensland Cup, so yeah,
he'll be needing a big game. And the actually has
been talk that why can't some referees double up in
weekends like some referees do two games.
Speaker 2 (01:27:52):
Yeah, it's a bit hard running around for eighty minutes
as a referee as well as being a player. Is
they make it? They run. They probably run the furthest
than anybody on the field. Referees depends back ten pard.
Speaker 4 (01:28:09):
Them, depends on where the games are played too exactly right.
Speaker 2 (01:28:13):
But I do agree that the bunker, the bunker should
be one person for every game, the same person for
every game. Just these different week you have. You can
have Casey, Casey Badger and Chris Butler in the in
the in the bunker one week, just so you've got
(01:28:35):
the consistency what we're talking about before about the head
eye tackles where Hudson Young goes to the bin for
a slight touch. But Cory, what was that fishnet stockings?
I've never never worn them before, But then Corey were
now coming for I'm trying to cross tyme which adds,
(01:28:56):
which adds face and didn't get that off. It's just
just the consistency the referees. Ah, I get it now,
I get it now, man, I get it now. Never
wore fish nets, knockings, a warm oving me face, you
(01:29:18):
know when you get stops on your face and you
go rob a bank or shop or something.
Speaker 3 (01:29:22):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:29:27):
Now we'll get into our our tips for round six
and then we'll finalize it with the with the Dragons
game against the Titans. But yeah, Thursday night and they'll
kick off at sun Corpse Stadium. The Dolphins, they had
their first win of the season last week against the Titans,
our opponents on Friday. They're coming up against the Panthers,
who are coming off four straight losses. Now the Dolphins
(01:29:51):
do welcome back there captain Tom Gilbert, which sees Kenny
Bromich drop out of the seventeen He's back to nineteenth man,
and the Panthers do welcome back Dylan Edwards and Scott Sorenson. However,
they do lose Mitch Kenney Blaze to Lungey recruit Blaze
to Lungey comes in for his first time to partner
(01:30:11):
Nathan Cleary in the halves with Jack cole at with
concussion and ye Luke Kennedy Nathan Cleary, yep, and yeah,
Dylan Edward's a huge inclusion. Hmm, Billy, will the Dolphins
go back to back? All well, the Panthers finally break
(01:30:34):
their full match losing streak.
Speaker 3 (01:30:38):
I think it's due. I think it's due for Panthers
to break that losing streak. It'll be close, but I've
got Penis by four, Scoop.
Speaker 5 (01:30:54):
It's gonna be a tight one. I'm gonna go Panthers
by golden point.
Speaker 2 (01:31:02):
The crazy Jess big Tea, what do you think? I think?
I think the Panthers have got to strike back of
the crazy. Panthers have got to strike back. They've got
to They've got to win. If they go five down,
they start starting to be in trouble as well, and
(01:31:25):
our luck we play them very dead lives and they'll
be one hundred by then and kick ours. But I
think I think the Dolphins will win this one up there,
But don't strike the Panthers out yet. Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:31:42):
The Friday night game is the the eight PM game.
The Broncos coming off a big win over the Tigers,
and they've lost Brenda Kapik who's out for a couple
of weeks. Suspended former Dragon Jaden Hunt goes onto an
edge while Martin's all that the veteran month the wo
comes out of the bench for the Roosters. Billy Smith
(01:32:05):
keeps his spot after playing his first game since twenty
twenty three last Friday Night. Your favorite one of your
favorites Big Tea Chad Townsend dropped Young Hugosh.
Speaker 2 (01:32:19):
He's been playing worse than Earlias.
Speaker 4 (01:32:24):
Anyway, Young Young Hugo Savala will get his first crack
at the number seven Jersey Lindsay Collins out for six
and what injury he is there will start up front
and yeah that Mark na Wangani Twasi returns from injury.
He's named as adh Man. Who do you like in
(01:32:46):
this one? Big team? That's Sun Corp as well.
Speaker 2 (01:32:49):
This one, yeah it is.
Speaker 4 (01:32:52):
Is is.
Speaker 2 (01:32:54):
Reynolds in doubt he's been named, but he's in doubt,
isn't he Yes, he's good for scans. What the scans,
don't know what the scans were.
Speaker 5 (01:33:07):
I think.
Speaker 4 (01:33:09):
Renald said he should be good to go.
Speaker 2 (01:33:10):
But I'm gonna go broadcast. I'm gonna have broadcast if
if Reynolds is in. But they got readily, readily back
for the Roosters. He's a big inclusion. But in Brisbane.
In Brisbane, I think the Broncas I'll win every day
of the week.
Speaker 4 (01:33:30):
Do you agree with that? Billy?
Speaker 3 (01:33:32):
Yeah, Broncos by twenty.
Speaker 4 (01:33:35):
Twenty twenty, Yeah, confident. Well that's good. Quickly have your say.
Speaker 5 (01:33:46):
I was gonna I'm gonna go Broncos by twenty if
Reynolds is in. But I did hear Apps that if
he is ruled out he in, the number six will
get mirth to seven, Billy Walters will coming at number
six and black Mosa on the bench. That's all I'm
(01:34:09):
hearing at the moment.
Speaker 4 (01:34:11):
Yeah, Black Batsa has been named in twenty two, so
could be.
Speaker 2 (01:34:15):
On the cards.
Speaker 5 (01:34:17):
They also got that other player, Tyson Smoothie, but it
pretty much looks like he's on the way out of
the Broncos too, because he's already signed a I think
it's a three year deal with Wakefield Trinity from the
next season onwards.
Speaker 4 (01:34:36):
All right, the first game will be of Super Saturday
will be that double header in Perth, which I think
that Captain Donnie will be at the Sydney's North City's Beaches.
Big t the Sharks and Manly the Sharks do welcome back.
So for Talakai and Tig Wilton. With Billy Burns and
(01:34:59):
dropping out of the seven team Manly yep, Manly. Jason
Stape has been named Despote picking up an injury. Tommy
Tallow is returning from injury. He's been named as eight
eighth man and I'm Corey what else you mentioned has
been suspended so returns from injury in this game teen
(01:35:24):
bounces back.
Speaker 2 (01:35:27):
I've got to say, no Tommy, no Manly. I've seen
him last week against the against the Storm. They had nothing,
they were they were nowhere like they hop Away is
a good player, but he's no Tommy Tommy Turbat and
everyone says that for the last four or five years.
(01:35:48):
No Tommy, no Manly, you know, like is Cherry. He
was as good as he really is without Tommy, I
think he is, but um Shark again. They're so inconsistent,
but they lose at home, they went away, so I
think Sharkys might get this one over.
Speaker 5 (01:36:08):
Manly Scoop, I'm gonna have to agree with Big Tea.
I'm gonna go on Sharks of this sign. No Tommy, no, Manly,
I don't have to go Sharks.
Speaker 2 (01:36:22):
But thirty thirty.
Speaker 5 (01:36:28):
And that was ruled the man. You see girls out
from the top eight this year.
Speaker 4 (01:36:36):
Sharks Sharks by Yeah, I'll go Sharks and a tight one.
The next game on on Super Saturday will be another
game in Perth the Rabbits. They're looking quite good at
the moment. They're going for three in a row up
against the Cowboys who were also going for three in
a row. Billy, who do you like in this one
(01:36:56):
that the Rabbits have named Latron Mitchell at five eighths
our old Bud Sullivan named it halfback You and Ake
and former Dragon will make his sitting debut in the
centers and In other team news for the rabbid Os,
there is other team news. Alex Johnson does return from
(01:37:16):
injury as well. The Cowboys do welcome back to their
co captain Ruben Cotter and otherwise unchanged lineup. Really, this
is tough.
Speaker 3 (01:37:29):
This is a tough, tough match. This is going to
go down. I reckon golden point in set try Alex
Johnson Rabbit win. I reckon that's gonna how They're gonna be.
Speaker 2 (01:37:42):
How it is.
Speaker 3 (01:37:43):
That should it should be a really good match.
Speaker 2 (01:37:50):
The beginning Cowboys, he makes some good maders, some some
good some good past contact maders. McAuley comes back into
the side. I think he does. Yeah, but uh yeah,
I think Sous might be too strong for the Cowboys.
Trials play it closer to the ball. He's going to
(01:38:12):
kill it Bunnies, buddies by about seven eight maybe.
Speaker 4 (01:38:19):
Scoop, you're making it Yournmous. Do you think South's as well?
Speaker 5 (01:38:23):
I'm going to go South, but I'm also going to
say if Souths want to win the camp, I'll have
to keep all back because he's leading the Daly m
medals out.
Speaker 2 (01:38:34):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:38:35):
One thing we didn't forget to mention as well in
the top ten, Yes, who's dogs that.
Speaker 2 (01:38:48):
Man doesn't Yeah, come on.
Speaker 4 (01:38:52):
Alright, the final game on Super Saturday is up in
the top end.
Speaker 2 (01:38:58):
And well.
Speaker 4 (01:39:03):
Boulderbart has been named on the wing. Surprise, surprise, I.
Speaker 5 (01:39:06):
Pointed that out today.
Speaker 3 (01:39:08):
Jesse underground all of a sudden.
Speaker 4 (01:39:11):
And goes back to the bench with Riley Smith named
at nine. The Raiders are unchanged.
Speaker 2 (01:39:18):
Looks like.
Speaker 4 (01:39:20):
Ye the unchanged that they looked good in. They're playing
an exciting brand of football. Do you think the Raiders
in this one? Billy?
Speaker 2 (01:39:31):
No, give me the crow, Give me the crow.
Speaker 3 (01:39:38):
Yeah, I've got Parer.
Speaker 4 (01:39:41):
Going back to back.
Speaker 2 (01:39:42):
Yeah, Paramount in the corner, in the corner. Have we
played them in deform?
Speaker 4 (01:39:50):
Here is a stat for Paramat. They have lost their
last five games in Darwin.
Speaker 2 (01:39:56):
Is it their home game?
Speaker 4 (01:39:57):
It's their home game. They take there every year. It's
not not not an advantage for him.
Speaker 2 (01:40:02):
They have before.
Speaker 4 (01:40:06):
Last year they played the Dolphins, and Dolphins absolutely smashed them.
I did, right, Billy.
Speaker 3 (01:40:15):
I'm going to back Zach Homax the school.
Speaker 4 (01:40:22):
You're you're agreeing that, you're agreeing with Billy, or you
think the Raiders.
Speaker 5 (01:40:32):
If Paramada wants to keep on winning games, they have
to keep Foldimore on the wing. He's a better winner
than Bloody Center. So I'm gonna go Para by in
a close one by four.
Speaker 4 (01:40:50):
Yep, Big two.
Speaker 2 (01:40:52):
Yeah, I'm gonna go with the trend. And the Raiser
made him up there for the seventh time in a row.
And as Tony Casara says, there Raiders by twenty two. Yeah.
Speaker 4 (01:41:04):
The Raiders are playing an exciting brand of football. And
what about that try they scored to beat the Sharks
last Thursday night? Was that was a big.
Speaker 2 (01:41:13):
Agrees with me, Abe, Chris agrees with me. Look at that?
So they want to agree with me. Raider is easy?
Speaker 4 (01:41:19):
Raiders. Yeah. The two o'clock game returns this Sunday down
at Amy Park in Melbourne. The Melbourne Storm taking off
the Warriors. The Warrior is coming off the buy. Now
the Melbourne Storm do have a couple of inns.
Speaker 2 (01:41:33):
It looks like.
Speaker 4 (01:41:37):
Let's just connect. They're unchanged. They're unchanged. I thought Will
Warbricks was there. He hasn't been changed, so he mustn't
be clear to return. And the Warriors do welcome back
Rocko Berry for his first game of the year. But
Edward Costi drops out from that win over the time
night ago. He drops it to the extended bench and
(01:41:58):
Buntie Fower is that player on the bench. With Dylan
Walker now left the club. Big t the Storm at
home undefeated so far this year. Why the Melbourne Storm
so hard to beat? Amy Park?
Speaker 2 (01:42:13):
They're not. We beat them there last year so they're
not hard to beat down there. Just kind of get
them to get them on the wrong night. We get
them on the right night. So I can't see them.
Can't say the wise. They got not a bad record
down there, but I can't see they're beating the Storm
in their current form. Nobody's going to beat the still
(01:42:34):
meet the Store in their current form. We did, we did,
but we tend to do that. We beat the big
teams and get beaten by the lower teams.
Speaker 5 (01:42:46):
Mm hmmm, all right, Scoop, I'm gonna have to a
grave big ta on this one. Melbourne by twelve.
Speaker 4 (01:42:57):
Billy, you agree with that? Melbourne?
Speaker 3 (01:43:00):
Yep, I'm going with that one as well.
Speaker 4 (01:43:04):
Yep, that's the anonymous. I think it's all gonna be
in the Melbourne Storm. And then the final game of
the round is on Sunday up in Newcastle, Scoop, where
we'll have the Knights taking on the Tigers. For the Knights,
Kyle McCarthy will make his Nermal debut on the wing
with James Shill out. I think he's got a facial
injury there. Jack Cogger dislocated his finger. They couldn't pop
(01:43:25):
that in last Sunday Night, So Phoenix cross and moves
from hooker to half back. Jade and Brawley will start
at hooker. Jacob Shiedi did his calf in the actually
running out on the field, so he's out as well.
That's an odd win one seeing him run out on
the field and get injured. Brady Jones will start in
(01:43:46):
the front row. Kye piss Paul returns from suspension on
an edge. Matthew Arthur, the son of former Power coach
Brad Arpur, will make his Knights to off the bench,
as will Leo Thompson's twin brother, Tyrone Thompson.
Speaker 2 (01:44:04):
Can you imagine that? Can you imagine that? Having Leo
Thompson run at you and then you look around and
it comes Tyrone Thompson. They're both man mountains, the twins,
both man mountains.
Speaker 5 (01:44:18):
Give me a crow. I'm going to say, give me
the crow on this one, give you the crow, all right,
give me the crow. I'm not sure.
Speaker 4 (01:44:30):
But on the Tigers walking back, Jerome lewine Gerrold Skelton
as well.
Speaker 2 (01:44:35):
Yeah, I.
Speaker 5 (01:44:37):
Wouldn't be supposed to those the last minute change or
I did hear reports. But Knights are trying to move
move some players onto the Cellary cat pressure and bringing
deal Brown. So the Crow is halfway through this year,
Bill Brown will be up the Newcastle Knights. Tyrone Thompson,
(01:45:02):
we'll signed with the Bulldogs for a three year deal
with his brother to go to the Bulldogs next year.
Speaker 2 (01:45:08):
Did just signed with the he just got there.
Speaker 5 (01:45:11):
Yeah, but Knight said trying to relieve so my pron
Thompson to get released follow his brother for a free
deal at the Canterbury Bankstown Bulldogs.
Speaker 4 (01:45:26):
All right, I believe. Do you think the Knights get
the win at home, remain undefeated at home or with
with the inclusion of your life for the Tigers, will
that be enough to get him home?
Speaker 3 (01:45:37):
I think I don't know if that's to cry or not,
but I got Tigers to win. Just Nights have lost
so much players. That was about six players, so you
know that's and yep. As for as for the as
(01:45:58):
for the rumor about Iron Thompson and that if one'm
thinking that Knight's going to release some pressure, I would
get rid of Hastings. They don't have any use for
them at all.
Speaker 2 (01:46:10):
So that's the that's the plan with Paramatta. Yeah they
want to swap shop Hastings for a little brown.
Speaker 8 (01:46:18):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (01:46:19):
I forgot to put my tips in. I'm going Tigers
by twelve.
Speaker 2 (01:46:24):
There you go.
Speaker 3 (01:46:26):
Yeah, I've got Tigers tirtha class.
Speaker 2 (01:46:29):
I don't know what are your nights? Yeah?
Speaker 4 (01:46:36):
Up at Newcastle they get the job down a home.
Speaker 2 (01:46:39):
They will have the Thompson twins run out here in trouble.
Thompson twins. They were in Tintin. Weren't they the Thompson Twins.
I don't know, Yeah they were, they were.
Speaker 4 (01:46:53):
I'll get your thoughts on both of this now, mainly
for Scoop and Billy big T does a key a Queenslander?
This is this is an origin related question. Now, Laurie
Daily was on I was speaking the last twenty four hours.
But who his helves might be? He's hinted it could
be both the nation, Cleary and Mitchell Moses would drama
(01:47:13):
one what maybe to miss out your thoughts, Billy, it
would be your hearts? Would you go with Cleary and
Moses both? If fits haven't played a lot, hasn't played
any football yet this year.
Speaker 3 (01:47:26):
Kind of hard because no one's played themselves for New
South Wales, no halves have played themselves into any origin
form whatsoever. Like Cleary's clear is forcing himself to make
mistakes because he thinks he has to carry a team
And Mitchell Moses hasn't come back at all yet, so
(01:47:47):
we can't really judge on him. It's going to be
good to see her in the next couple of weeks,
hoping Moses comes back soon enough. You know, I really
am intrigued because his origin form last year where is
really good?
Speaker 12 (01:48:02):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (01:48:03):
Otherwise Jerome law I might have to be an option.
Speaker 4 (01:48:09):
Yeah that's good.
Speaker 5 (01:48:12):
Well, one point I've got is Mitch Moses is OVERAPO
hearing He's going to be ruled out Fishier for origin
because I don't think you'll be fit by fan. I've
got Jerome the Lie and I'm gonna throze Smoky. He's
just I've got Matt Burton fact could be in contention
(01:48:35):
to be the flyve eight in the New Sophiles.
Speaker 4 (01:48:38):
Squad injury next week. U.
Speaker 5 (01:48:44):
Nah, you've got Matt owned Jerome the Lie.
Speaker 4 (01:48:48):
Well, Tony Scossa has got a good point, clearly has
not stepped up in Origin football yet he hasn't known
the Origin.
Speaker 5 (01:48:58):
And I've got a gut feeling fat Queensland. I'm sorry,
just it, I'm sorry, but I've got a gut feeling.
Depending on what happens, I've got to go the Queensland
will probably win Series two, the one.
Speaker 2 (01:49:15):
Queen.
Speaker 5 (01:49:17):
I hate to say it, but with the film that
we've had, no I've got I've got a got thing.
With the poor form that we had with Lord Daly
as coach, I've got a gut feeling business is last Ferral.
I've got a gut if if we lose again to
(01:49:37):
Queensland this year, Lorry Daly would never be a coach
in Origin football ever. Again. We've just had a poor
record with him as coach.
Speaker 4 (01:49:52):
And hadn't talk about if the Queensland side was named
tomorrow big t you're you're a Queenslander. It would be
the fullback right now? Would it be Kaylen Pomer or
to be Res Walsh. Walsh hasn't been great to start.
Speaker 2 (01:50:06):
Yea, he's just got tipped ahead. I think that Calum
pom has tipped ahead at the moment because rece Wolves
hasn't been hasn't been the top of his game, but
he's still got he's still got four weeks three weeks
being that fallback, So it'll be either one of them.
But at the moment was a fullback yep.
Speaker 4 (01:50:27):
And one more for you. If Daily Sherman's retires from
Origin football, who comes into the team in the hearts?
Speaker 2 (01:50:34):
Oh Jesus, it'll have to be Tommy Diedon, wouldn't it?
Speaker 4 (01:50:40):
Would you play him at seven and months through at six?
Speaker 2 (01:50:43):
Yeahs at six? At seven I'll go.
Speaker 5 (01:50:46):
I'm going that a little smoky. But for Queensland's side
is if Jervy Effins does retire, they still have the
former Dragons number seven and captain who could be a
smoky if he does play on in the number seven role. Smoky,
aren't they possibility?
Speaker 2 (01:51:07):
Another crane from the crow?
Speaker 4 (01:51:11):
But we don't care about Queensland, do we do?
Speaker 2 (01:51:13):
We lam?
Speaker 1 (01:51:14):
No?
Speaker 4 (01:51:16):
All right, now we'll go, I do, I do?
Speaker 2 (01:51:20):
All right?
Speaker 5 (01:51:21):
Moving on, just see.
Speaker 4 (01:51:24):
For the big game of the weekend though, wind it
up up on Friday night at Winds Stadium. If you're
there to come out and say hello, big t, I'm
sure we'll well on the hill. So yeah, go and
say hello to Big t too. If you're at the game,
isn't that right, Big Tea, go say hello to you.
Speaker 2 (01:51:40):
I'm sure coup me there as well. Yep.
Speaker 4 (01:51:44):
So yeah, if you see us in the game, come
and say hello. We don't buy it?
Speaker 5 (01:51:51):
Yeah bye, big By Big Beer, and you'll be on
his good side for the rest of your life.
Speaker 4 (01:51:58):
All right now, scoop, we'll give you the first crack.
What's going to happen in the game on Friday night?
Do we get our second winner.
Speaker 1 (01:52:06):
Of the year.
Speaker 5 (01:52:09):
I'm trying to be too critical of our players, but
I'm gonna go Kristen to plot show me the money
baby for for any time try and Dragons to make
it come two to break out the winning streak. And
(01:52:35):
if we lose this week, Lake Glorie and Lachlan Ilios
to get dropped for liking Kintondia and the Man the
Meth the Great Legend the x p T to make
his debut if we lose next against the Talans this
week for next week's game, So what what what?
Speaker 3 (01:52:58):
What?
Speaker 4 (01:52:58):
What's what's your tip? Dragons by how many?
Speaker 5 (01:53:02):
I'm gonna go Dragons my two in Golden Point. Oh no,
do to me?
Speaker 4 (01:53:10):
No, we don't want golden points.
Speaker 3 (01:53:14):
Billy, Well, I'm not going to go dragons by twenty
four this time. After last week. Give me dragons by
ten points. I think we can get a job done
in the back end and hopefully hold on anytime, try scorer,
(01:53:38):
let's go, let's go Dami and Cook like he's due.
He needs to start attacking more.
Speaker 5 (01:53:43):
So let's.
Speaker 4 (01:53:46):
Big to you. You're optimistic, always tipping the dragons, always
the dragons.
Speaker 2 (01:53:51):
Dragons, the dragons by eight, cath I didn't have a try.
I reckon it'd be homes or two. We will be
scored for scoring first. Yeah, dragons by six to eight,
So dragons by eight.
Speaker 4 (01:54:14):
I'm going to go dragons. But yeah, if we get
to a lead by twelve points again, I'll get very
nervous because we've seen what's happened in the last two
games the Titans. There are ten that can leak points, though,
so if we can get some points. We saw how
many tries the Dolphins put on the other night, So
(01:54:36):
if we can get pile on some points we've got
if we get to a leader twelve, I hope our
halves and our spine have learned from their last two
losses and have learned from their mistakes, because they need
to learn from that if they want to get better
and improve. I'm going to go the Dragons by eight.
I don't think it'll be a blowout. If it'll be
a close one. The Titans they're not a bad side
(01:54:58):
if they can get, if they can worry, yes, if
if we're not careful, they'll give us a contest. So
I'm gonna go by eight. I think Guff will be
at any time, try scorer, and yeah, I think to
poor two will get a try to mark his fiftieth
NRL game. All right, well, I'll throw over to you
