Speaker 1 (00:01):
This is the Mad Town Mom Squad podcast, a production
of iHeartRadio. Hard working, real mama's having real conversations. Now,
sit back, relax, and get ready to talk mom life
with Christa and her squad.
Speaker 2 (00:14):
All right, mamas, welcome back to the Mad Town Mom Squad.
You know it is true, as we head into fall
and families are getting back into the routine, it's a
perfect time right to check in on our health because sometimes,
you know what, we forget to put ourselves first. That's
why I'm so ecstatic to have one of my dearest
friends in studio today. Say hello to doctor rich Mirian.
(00:37):
He's the clinic director of New Health Chiropractic and Integrated Healthcare.
Speaker 3 (00:43):
And my goodness, Rich.
Speaker 2 (00:44):
You have been in this community for a long time
and you have been one of my dearest friends as
well as my chiropractor.
Speaker 3 (00:51):
How are you?
Speaker 4 (00:52):
I great? Christa, so happy, so happy to be here
with you today.
Speaker 3 (00:56):
I love it. We go way back, right, we do.
Speaker 5 (00:59):
We got we got the time machine back when I
was like young and had a like better looking face.
Speaker 3 (01:04):
Oh yeah, I think both of our faces were a
little tighty.
Speaker 4 (01:06):
No, I'm really made for radio.
Speaker 3 (01:08):
I love it.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
No, seriously, I remember the first time that I met you,
and you know, I got my X rays. You totally
were like the funniest guy E ED had ever met,
and you still are and I love that about you.
You're just very very personal and very knowledgeable when it
comes to the body.
Speaker 4 (01:27):
You are so.
Speaker 5 (01:28):
Sweet and I try to Yeah, I mean, I feel
like you can't get better unless you're unless you're in
an environment in which, you know, people are supportive and happy,
and yeah, you know, and I want to make you
laugh because laughter is sometimes the best medicine.
Speaker 4 (01:43):
But if we especially.
Speaker 5 (01:44):
When we're in pain and we're down, or if we've
got things bothering us, or you know, just frustrated with life,
you know, sometimes a little bit of light and humor
can go a long way.
Speaker 2 (01:52):
Absolutely, And someone that lives with chronic pain, it is
no joke how much that affects you, you emotionally, So
it's so important that we find an outlet, especially if
you are suffering. So let's talk about your business, Rich,
because you've been doing this a long time.
Speaker 3 (02:09):
How do you describe your practice?
Speaker 5 (02:12):
So, you know, when I bought the practice back in
twenty seventeen, we were you know, chiropractive practice, did you
know a little bit of physical therapy. Since then, I've
completely integrated the clinic. So now we have regenerative medicines.
We offer the best in platelet rich plasma or PRP,
as well as human cellular tissue products which contain stem cells.
(02:33):
We also do bioidentical hormone replacement therapy. I've got an
MLS laser, which is a real hack into speeding the
increase in the speed at which we heal, which by the.
Speaker 2 (02:45):
Way, I had done because of course I had to
have a third surgery on my foot for breaking it,
and you had me, you know, go under that treatment
before I had my third surgery, because this was going
to make things easier.
Speaker 5 (02:59):
Yes, and uh, doctors really appreciate. Surgeons really appreciate when
we get that vascular flow. It really improves the the
the the tissue in the area, which makes it a
lot easier to operate on. And then we can use
it post surgery also for healing and all of those
wonderful things. In addition to those things, I've now also
(03:20):
added to other pieces of equipment that are kind of
the bio hack into the future. I mean, I get
really excited and geeked out about things. And when I
you know, study all these things and decide to you know,
add them into my practice. There there's definitely a reason
that we add those different things in and those new
pieces of equipment are the new biohacks into into the
future of what we're the direction we're heading.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Well, tell us about these biohacks.
Speaker 5 (03:45):
Yeah, So the first one's called the m sculpt NEO,
So it is a muscle activation device which also has
an RF or radio frequency device in it that produces heat.
Those two things based cause a supramaximal or a really
strong contraction of skeletal muscle, which can cause hyperplasia or
(04:09):
building of skeletal muscles. So we can actually build muscle
without lifting a weight, so we can actually cause a
twenty five percent muscle mass increase. We can also then
heat up the fat cells, so those which is a
signal for them to go through cell death or apoptosis,
which is cellular desk. So we heat them up between
forty three and forty five degrees celsius and that actually
(04:31):
signals them to actually die and so that those fat
cells then are carried off by our limp system and
rid them from our bodies. So it is a body contouring,
fat loss and muscle building device.
Speaker 4 (04:44):
Wow, that's d M sculpt Neo.
Speaker 2 (04:46):
Yeah, that's incredible because I had the opportunity of going
under one of those treatments and I was like.
Speaker 3 (04:51):
Oh my gosh, this feels awesome.
Speaker 2 (04:54):
Like I was like so in awe by how intense
it is. It's not pay but it's intense it is.
Speaker 5 (05:02):
And you know the difference between you contracting your muscle,
So if you go to the gym, even a trained
athlete that's in the gym, if they're lifting weights, you
can get about forty to fifty percent of a full
muscle contraction because our brain shuts off the rest of
that because we need that additional energy to run from,
you know, that fight or flight thing. We've got to
(05:23):
be able to run from the saber tooth tiger, which
don't exist anymore right.
Speaker 4 (05:28):
Extinct, which is why our cord of the levels are
else screwed up.
Speaker 5 (05:30):
But anyways, that aside, we can with this device, we
could actually bypass that brain element of it and cause
a ninety percent or higher muscle contraction.
Speaker 4 (05:45):
So it is a it's called a super.
Speaker 5 (05:47):
Maximal muscle contraction that then signals the body to actually
produce more muscle cells. So that's what actually causes the
increased muscle mass that we can get through this device.
Speaker 3 (06:00):
Will this work on someone that has undergone a C section?
Speaker 4 (06:04):
It will really Yeah, because.
Speaker 2 (06:06):
I'm one of those candidates and I'm like, I'm never
gonna have muscles ever again.
Speaker 4 (06:10):
Yeah. And you know the it's actually been shown too
with you've.
Speaker 5 (06:15):
Heard a diadasis rectie, which a diastasis rectie, which is
where the abdominal muscles separate. So you know, they try
to fix it surgically. They've tried to do everything, and
you can do all this pet and try to push
them together. And I have a sister who had twins
and she's got it really bad because you know she
she's tiny and she had these huge kids.
Speaker 3 (06:33):
So they did they get your hype?
Speaker 4 (06:38):
Yeah.
Speaker 5 (06:39):
Actually, my nephew is almost six' five, really so, yeah
and the other one is six. Two now he's going
to exceed. Me SO i think my niece is like
five to nine or something like.
Speaker 4 (06:51):
That she's. Tall have you met.
Speaker 2 (06:53):
Doctor rich he's very chiseled and again he's, yes he's,
tall very handsome.
Speaker 3 (06:59):
Man you are or too with a great sense of.
HUMOR i love.
Speaker 2 (07:02):
YOU i think that's wonderful BECAUSE i think for like
a lot of moms. Too with, myself you, know my
skin elasticity did not go back from having THAT c,
Section so NOTHING i can do will ever make that.
Speaker 4 (07:18):
Tight, yeah bonus side.
Speaker 5 (07:19):
Effect so the heat that is generated in this has
been shown to activate the collagen cells the fiber blast
in that sub in the dermis, layer which actually then
has a bonus side effect of tightening the skin in
the area, also so we actually can tighten that skin.
Speaker 4 (07:39):
Up so and that is kind of one.
Speaker 5 (07:41):
Of the other effects that we get from this, treatment
so is being able to tighten that skin up.
Speaker 4 (07:47):
Also SO i love.
Speaker 2 (07:48):
It, now as far as, treatments is there like a
certain amount of numbers of like you, know we got
to do like.
Speaker 3 (07:54):
Two, times five, times ten. Times how does that?
Speaker 5 (07:57):
Work, Yeah so all the studies were done on. Fortreatments,
okay it's for the m SCULPT. Neo it's four weekly
treatments and then normally follow up treatments one or.
Speaker 4 (08:08):
Two a year at about the you, know six and
twelve months. Marks so but it's just based on four. Treatments, then,
oh that's.
Speaker 3 (08:16):
Wonderful, yeah we can.
Speaker 5 (08:18):
Do that causes a thirty percent fat loss and a
twenty five percent muscle gain with fifty two percent increase
in strength of those.
Speaker 3 (08:25):
Muscles so you're, Saying i'm gonna get my twenty one.
Speaker 6 (08:28):
Year old body, Back well we. Can we can work
on it over. Time i'm still working. Online Christ LIKE
i joke, that you, KNOW i bought this device just
BECAUSE i wanted my six pack, back.
Speaker 4 (08:39):
WHICH i did give.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
BACK i bet you did.
Speaker 5 (08:41):
It, yeah it took. It you, Know i'd done all
the things in the gym and all that, stuff BUT
i got hooked up to this device and after my four, treatments.
Speaker 3 (08:49):
He just fell in.
Speaker 4 (08:49):
Love, yeah AND i got my six back.
Speaker 3 (08:51):
BACKS i love.
Speaker 2 (08:52):
That, well let's get in more to M sella BECAUSE
i think this is really really important BECAUSE i think
for you, know as you get older my, age or
just in, general you, know when it comes to, incontinents it.
Occurs you know you'll be out and, about you'll be
jumping In.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
OOPS i peed. Myself i'm, like, ah that's em fair.
Speaker 5 (09:12):
Thing, yeah and you know it's the it's the not
talked about, thing, Right so it's no you, know even
in my. Office you, know it's like this thing Where i'm, Like,
okay how DO i actually talk to people about. This
i'm A i'm a guy without any, kids gay man
without any kids or got stakes like women are not
even in the.
Speaker 3 (09:30):
Picture so, yeah.
Speaker 4 (09:34):
For me to have these.
Speaker 5 (09:35):
Conversations but you, know as their, Doctor i'm being able
to sit down and talk with them about the things
that you know happen after, pregnancy so you, know so you,
know we we do get weakening to that pelvic, floor
which can cause urging continents or even that the stressing,
continents which is you, know a cough or a sneeze
or a laugh or whatever where they oh, GOD i
(09:57):
better cross my legs BEFORE i. Sneeze sure all of
those things that can. Happen so The msella chair is
like doing eleven thousand kegels in a thirty minute time.
Speaker 4 (10:08):
Period and it's got two different programs on it.
Speaker 5 (10:11):
That operate to tone those pelvic floor muscles and then
actually strengthen.
Speaker 4 (10:17):
Them so we get a ninety.
Speaker 5 (10:18):
Five percent satisfaction rating from the people who use. This
i've actually had a person who came into my. Office
she was one of my first adopters of, LIKE i
want this, treatment she wanted it. Now and she's like
she had had the laser treatment to fix things down,
there and she was still had. Problems like she, said
(10:41):
if she went out and danced and jumped, around she
had to make sure she had gone to the. Bathroom,
Yes and she actually came into me because she was
at an event after her second treatment and she, goes
it was. Amazing she, GOES i didn't have to worry
about going to the bathroom AND i was out jumping
around on the dance floor and she, GOES i didn't
have any worries about anything.
Speaker 4 (11:02):
Happening oh, yeah and she, goes it changed her. Life,
yeah and she was just had that different.
Speaker 5 (11:10):
Confidence AND i think that's the difference in what you
know this can offer to, people is that you, know
SOME soli chair uses that same HIGH fem, energy which
is high intensity focused electromagnetic wave that actually causes contraction
of those those pelvic floor. Muscles tried doing eleven thousand
kegels in a day much less, Minutes, yeah. Exactly so
(11:32):
it really does work to, strengthen tone and strengthen those
muscles so that you don't have those.
Speaker 2 (11:37):
Issues anymore AND i AND i saw. It so do
you literally just sit on?
Speaker 4 (11:42):
It, yeah you sit on it fully.
Speaker 5 (11:43):
Closed so really it's, YEAH i MEAN i have people
sit there and just you, know they do their emails
on their phone and you, know they can just hang
out there for for twenty eight. Minutes it's the actual treatment. Time,
Yeah and it's two treatments a week on that one
for three.
Speaker 4 (12:00):
Weeks so it's just a short.
Speaker 5 (12:01):
Six minute treatment with possible follow ups as, needed you,
know six months, later depending On and you, know it's
going to be some different for somebody who's had one
kid versus somebody who's had six. Kids, sure somebody who's
had twins versus somebody who's only had one at a,
time somebody who had a twelve pound kid versus somebody
(12:23):
who had a six pound, kid which we hope you.
Speaker 4 (12:25):
Don't have a twelve pound. Kid oh my, gosh that's
a big. Kid.
Speaker 2 (12:28):
LISTEN i am in awe for the fabulous moms out
there that have their children naturally and have a ten pound.
Speaker 3 (12:35):
Baby i'm, Like god bless. You you.
Speaker 5 (12:37):
Know, Yeah and you know that we'd spoke a little
bit about you, know c sections and even with hysterectomies
and a lot of scar tissue down.
Speaker 4 (12:47):
There that scar tissue is not as appliable as other
tissues in the.
Speaker 5 (12:51):
Body we can still apply this modality, now given that
we've given enough time for healing of all those, Things
like you're not going to do, this you, know six
months after you've had a c. Section we want it
two years after you've had your c, section where that
scar tissues fully formed and all the and all of those.
Things if you had your baby, naturally we can use
this almost, right like as soon as THE i would,
(13:13):
say is as soon as you're, ready which is not
going to be when you have a you, know a
three month old.
Speaker 3 (13:19):
Child let's do.
Speaker 5 (13:21):
It let's do, It AND i honestly don't want to
maybysit your kids while you're in my, office so.
Speaker 2 (13:27):
Leave that's interesting because it took my body two years
to get back to, normal.
Speaker 4 (13:33):
Right and we want to. Cut, yeah we want to
see what your normal. Is.
Speaker 5 (13:37):
Right there's there's no reason in my eyes THAT i
always want To we want a good solid baseline to go.
From and if your body is changing all the, time
if you're you, know healing from, something we don't we
don't necessarily know how effective the treatment is sure or
if you would have been fine without, it, Right so
why spend money on something that you would have been
(13:58):
fine with THAT i, Mean i'm a CHEAP.
Speaker 4 (14:03):
I didn't say.
Speaker 2 (14:03):
That that's As i'm a cheap.
Speaker 5 (14:07):
BASTARD i will send money. LESS i squeeze EVERY i
needs a link of arts twice.
Speaker 3 (14:16):
As is real right now we have to do exactly.
Speaker 5 (14:19):
So but What i'm saying is is that if you've reached,
that you, know that point where it's, like, okay like
my body is not, CHANGING i can't go to the,
GYM i can't do the things THAT i used to.
Do this is something we can use the you, know
and we can actually activate those fiber blasts to help
soften up that scar tissue that's in the. Area and
we can use the muscle contractile strength to actually build
(14:42):
muscle where you weren't able to. Build and so we
actually can show an improvement in diastasis recti where you
get the separation of the ab. Muscles we can also
build muscle when you really can't do it in the gym.
Anymore so there's limitations or you, know even you, Know
i've had people that have come in that, said, WELL
i can't go to the gym to work out because
(15:03):
IF i go to the.
Speaker 4 (15:04):
GYM i. Leak and so it's, like all, right well
let's fix the.
Speaker 5 (15:07):
Incontinents then we can fix the abb, muscles and then
we can send you back to the gym and you
can do all the things that you want to do
and have that great health span. Again, Right so it's
not about our, lifespan it's about our health.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
Span, yeah BECAUSE i you, know when you look on THE,
tv there's this commercial that shows this like this machine
for this like older, woman and it Just i'm just,
LIKE i would feel horrible to have to have to
go through, that you, know and you're constantly worrying you
like you sleep with.
Speaker 5 (15:35):
It LIKE i was, like AND i had a patient
that came in, too and some of the therapies that
are out, there you, know to strengthen the pelvic, floor you,
know you know you have to put an insertable. Device,
Yes And i'm, like how. Horrible absolutely that's the way
she felt about. IT i was, like oh, GOD i can't. Imagine, Right,
yeah so this this offers a, great great alternative to,
(16:01):
That AND i JUST i just had the THOUGHT i
just saw ON tv ON Snl Doja cat was on
she mentions THE m sculpt neo in one of her.
Songs really, yes so if you look up she's used
THE m sculpt there's actually a. VIDEO i think.
Speaker 3 (16:20):
Fabulous, yeah it's. Amazing, oh we know we love Our
doja right.
Speaker 4 (16:23):
Here.
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Now you also mentioned that this could help with sexual.
Speaker 3 (16:28):
Issues.
Speaker 5 (16:29):
Yeah so so you, know whenever you strengthen the pelvic,
floor all the stuff down there starts to work. Better
so vaginal, dryness some of the things that you, know effective, menopause. Perimenopause,
yeah so struggle is real. Exactly so you know which
is you, know we we do THE i do.
Speaker 4 (16:49):
So much with functional.
Speaker 5 (16:50):
Medicine SO i just want to give people alternatives to
things that aren't good solutions THAT i feel that have
kind of been you, know pushed by big. Pharma and
that's the best way for me to put that out
there is that you, know WE i want people to.
Have you, know they come up with all these words that, say,
okay you have this illness and so now you need
(17:11):
this drug so and there's all the different you, know
three letter words that they've come up with that you, Know,
okay it's it's, this so we have this to treat,
it when actually we can use food and supplements and
short treatment times and periods as well as this type
of equipment in order to get those same, results but
(17:33):
do it naturally long term and without any of the
side effects that those other things. Cause, ye and you
don't have to do them for the rest of your life.
Speaker 4 (17:42):
Either once we.
Speaker 5 (17:44):
Fix, it like it is, fixed we get to the
root cause of what's causing your. Symptoms we don't treat the,
Symptom we treat the.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
Cause and there's no, downtime no, Downtime, yeah which is
great because you, know mamas are, busy they got places to. Go.
Speaker 5 (17:58):
Yeah and you KNOW I i was. Treated you, KNOW
i do treatments in my office on MY abs AND
i can say. That you, know you got to work,
Out like you'll get up the next day and you'll
contract your abb muscles and be, like oh you little.
Speaker 4 (18:14):
Solar yeah that feels, good but it's.
Speaker 5 (18:16):
Not you, know like WHEN i did the workouts in
the gym AND i had to like to get off
the toilet basically throw myself on the floor and climb
the wall because my legs wouldn't work anymore because they're so.
Sore this does not cause that type of. Fatigue so
and you can walk out right afterwards and feel great
about your treatment and without any side effects and without
(18:37):
any bad.
Speaker 4 (18:39):
Effects.
Speaker 3 (18:40):
Right, so where does this passion come? From?
Speaker 4 (18:43):
Yours my?
Speaker 3 (18:44):
Passion yeah to? Me come who you are to help?
Out you know so many.
Speaker 2 (18:49):
People this is a you, know an ever going, field
and you really are diving into any any possible thing
you can to help.
Speaker 5 (18:58):
People you know that you're going to cut me me
choke up because my mom has always SAID i always
wanted you to change your little corner of the, world
and this is my way of doing. That my mom
raised me on good organic, food you, know and then
(19:19):
a passion for doing things without drugs or needing medicine
or anything along.
Speaker 4 (19:27):
Those, yes there is a time and place for. It
don't get me.
Speaker 5 (19:29):
WRONG i will if you come into my office and
you have something that is it needs, THAT i will
send you away sooner than. Anybody, however if there's something
that we can do in whatever, way help you lose,
weight help you with incontinence, issues help you with knee,
(19:50):
pain whatever those things may, BE i will try to
find a natural and the most effective way that we
can do that without drugs and. Surgery and you, KNOW
i get choked up because my mom had a. Stroke she's,
eighty she's gonna be eighty five this. Weekend i'm going
home to see. Her so but she, is she's she's
(20:11):
rebounded from that better than probably ninety percent of the.
People and it's because and you, know my dad had
a heart attack a few years, ago and bad things, happen,
Right and you, know it could have been you, know
the fact that they smoked when they were you, know
back when they thought it was. Healthy you, know my
parents grew up in, School yeah it was and they
(20:32):
grew up in that area era everybody, smoked, Right so
and it could have been you, know damage done during
those you, know but to watch both of them. Recover my,
dad you, know AT u seventy five was you, know
was climbing, rocks you, know doing the.
Speaker 2 (20:47):
Rocks And i've met your parents are. Adorable REMEMBER i
met them at an. Event yeah they're.
Speaker 5 (20:51):
There, Yeah and and you know they're still so healthy
and they rebounded so quickly from both of those those.
Things but it's because they eat good. Food they you,
know natural. Medicine we talk all the time about, hey
what's the best way to get the best, results and,
yeah you, know things happen and you know we we
fix those, things.
Speaker 4 (21:11):
Right, so so we just want to make sure we're
doing that and letting people have their their long health. Span. Right,
so my parents are still.
Speaker 5 (21:19):
Active they're in their mid eighties and they're still getting
around and they you, know they're they're not taking a
bunch of prescription. Medications they have to take a couple
now because they've had some things, happen but you, know
and we we know those and we we react to.
Speaker 2 (21:35):
Those, ah they're so proud of, You, Rich yes they,
are And i'm so proud of you as.
Speaker 3 (21:42):
Well so that's.
Speaker 2 (21:44):
Fabulous and you also have something special for the moms
when it comes to maybe some.
Speaker 5 (21:49):
Hookups absolutely so all of your, Mamas CHRIS.
Speaker 4 (21:54):
H i love that you do this.
Speaker 5 (21:55):
Podcast and so for, that if you Mentioned, christinio when
you call the, office you get thirty percent off any
of the packages that we offer on any of these,
things and that's a significant discount over.
Speaker 6 (22:07):
What.
Speaker 2 (22:08):
Oh, yes, WELL i think it's wonderful that you have
brought these two you, know amazing devices to help out
so many in all ages.
Speaker 3 (22:17):
Too which is really great because our bodies.
Speaker 5 (22:19):
Change, yeah and you, know it's this is for the
bombs out. There this is also for the seniors that
you know are starting to have gate and.
Speaker 4 (22:28):
You, know ambulation.
Speaker 5 (22:29):
Issues so you, know one of the things that's been
shown to have the biggest impact on our health, span
on the way we live healthily longer is how strong
our core. Is and if you can't get to the
gym and you can't do core strengthening because you're limited
by these other, things this is one of the things
that we can use to give that good core strength
(22:50):
so that we can have people get better ambulation or
better walking and better you, know so they don't have
gate issues that they're not.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
Falling, yeah you know.
Speaker 3 (23:00):
That oh, gosh please don't. Fall don't do not break a.
Speaker 4 (23:03):
Bone, yeah, well and especially a.
Speaker 5 (23:05):
Hip you know that it's shown that you, know after
somebody breaks a, hip if they fall and break a, hip,
yeah you, know it's.
Speaker 3 (23:12):
