Speaker 1 (00:03):
Calarugu Shark Media. I'm Jamie Rudd and well that was
absolutely brutal. PSG didn't just beat Real Madrid. They humiliated
them four to zero at MetLife Stadium in front of
eighty thousand people, and honestly it could have been worse.

(00:25):
We've got our final set for Sunday, Chelsea versus PSG,
and after watching the Champions League holders dismantle the supposed
kings of European football, you have to wonder if the
Blues know what they've gotten themselves into. This wasn't just
a defeat, this was a complete capitulation. Two horrific individual

(00:46):
errors in the opening ten minutes had Madrid chasing shadows
for the rest of the match, and they never recovered. First,
Raoul Asensio decided to have a little dawdle in possession
ten yards from his own goal line in the sixth minute,
allowing Uzman Denbley to win the ball. Tibau Courtois brought
Denbley down, but before the referee could point to the spot,

(01:08):
Fabian Ruiz had stroked the loose ball home one to zero.
Three minutes later, Antonio Rudiger produced what can only be
described as slapstick comedy. Trying to play a simple pass
across the back line with his right foot, he accidentally
nudged it with his left, essentially kicking nothing but air. Denbley,

(01:29):
smelling danger again, pounced and ruthlessly beat Courtois two nil.
While Madrid were busy gifting goals, Denbley was putting on
an absolute clinic. The French winger was everywhere, drifting, sniffing danger,
dropping deep, dragging Madrid's defenders so far out of their

(01:49):
comfort zones they needed Taxis to get back. He forced
the first two goals from nothing, finished the second himself
with surgical precision, and then played the killer pass for
the breathtaking third goal. PSG's third goal in the twenty
fourth minute was footballing poetry. They worked the ball from
Jan Luigi Donoruma all the way to Akra Hakimi with

(02:12):
the pace of a counter attack, but the choreography of
a set piece. Madrid's pressing was nonexistent, allowing Hakimi to
race beyond their last line and set up Ruiz for
his second of the match. When football is played with
this quality, it looks terribly simple. The storylines wrote themselves,
but not in the way Madrid wanted Killian Mbappe, facing

(02:35):
his former club for the first time since his summer move,
was completely anonymous. So was Vensius Junior. Both players looked
like they had no desire to work defensively, and when
PSG's front line Dembele Desire Due and Vicha Kvaratzkilia are
three of the world's best at pressing, that laziness has

(02:56):
a domino effect. Luis Enrique Mbape's former manner used to
plead with him to switch on defensively at PSG. Without him,
PSG are European champions and now favorites to become World champions.
That might not be a coincidence. So we've got Chelsea
versus PSG on Sunday at MetLife Stadium and honestly, it's

(03:19):
hard to see how this ends well for the Blues.
Let's compare paths to the final. Chelsea beat Benfica, Palmiers
and fluminensei PSG beat Atletico Madrid, Bayern, Munich and Real Madrid,
scoring nine goals in those wins and conceding none. Chelsea
are the fourth best team in England. Paris sanjer Man

(03:41):
just dismantled what many consider the best club side in
the world. I'm Jamie Rudd. Thanks for listening. But before
I let you go, let me tell you about our
sister podcast feuds. For fifteen years, Lionel Messi and Cristiana
Ronaldo waged the most captivating rivalry in sports history. From
Barcelona's Lamasia Academy to Madeira's poverty, both future legends overcame

(04:07):
incredible odds to reach the top. Their El Classico battles
from two thousand and nine to two Thy eighteen redefined
football excellence, with both routinely scoring fifty plus goals per
season and trading ballon d'Or victories. Ronaldo conquered Europe with
Portugal in two THY sixteen, while Messi endured heartbreak after

(04:28):
heartbreak with Argentina, even retiring briefly in twenty sixteen. The
twenty twenty two World Cup in Qatar became their final showdown,
Messi's magical semi final performance against Croatia and eventual triumph
settling the goat debate forever. Now in twilight at Inter

(04:50):
Miami and Al Nasa, their legacy stands forty five trophies
versus thirty four, eight ballon d'Ors versus five, and over
one thousand, six hundred combined goals that elevated football to
an art form. This week's episode of Feuds takes a
look at this terrific football rivalry. Feuds available right now
