(01:02):
episode of the Mic Minister Hour.I am your host, as always,
the Mic Minister, and as alwaysI counted a blessing, I count the
joy, I count the privilege tobe with you yet again in another exciting
chapter of this thing that we calllife. As we get closer to God,
as we get a better understanding ofHis word, as you know,
we gotta get a better understanding ofourselves. You know, we gotta get
(01:23):
a better understanding of each other. We just gotta get a better understanding of
understanding, because understanding allows us tonot get in our feelings and understanding,
we seek for the answers, notseek for what we feel, not seek
for our one, seek for what'sbest for everyone involved. So we thank
God on today. I praise sincethe last time we spoke, that God
has been keeping you. I praisesince the last time we spoke, that
(01:45):
you've been giving those problems, givingthose things to God. I hope,
I pray since the last time wespoke, that you've been seeking God,
spending time with God, asking Godwhat to do, allowing God to show
you which way to move, knowingwhen to be quiet and to speak,
but seeking God for those things.Because when we go off of our own
thoughts, when we go for ourown feelings, a lot of times we
(02:06):
go the wrong way, or wego longer than what we should. When
we seek God in all things, not just the things that we don't understand,
not just the things we think wedon't know. Even those things you
think you know the answer, stillseek God because your answer might not be
the right answer for the situation. But God's answer, It's always the right
answer, no matter the situation. So we thank God for being that right
answer. We thank God for beingon time. We thank God for being
(02:29):
loving. We thank God for beingmerciful. We thank God for being gracious.
We thank God for not forgetting aboutus. I pray, I pray
that your joyful. I pray thatyou encourage. I pray that you have
your hope, your faith. Getyour joy back if you lost it,
Get your hope back if you lostit. Those things that you allowed the
devil, those things that you allowedman, those things that you allowed yourself
(02:50):
to throw away or be taken awayfrom you. You have the right,
You have the power, You havewhat it takes to get it back.
Matter of fact, when you getit back this time, make sure you
don't lose it. Because it's harderto try to get something back that you
had in the first place. Whylet it go. Stop holding onto things
that mean you know good. Stopholding on the things that bring your heart
literally pain physically and emotionally. Stopholding on the things that clouds your mind
(03:14):
to it. You can't see whereGod is trying to take you. Stop
holding on the things that hurt you. We keep making excuses for holding on
the things that hurt us because weclaim it prepares us for the next thing
that might hurt us. But whatever, something's not coming to hurt you.
You're preparing yourself for the bad already, when it could be God trying to
bring something good to you. Butyou're so busy looking for bad that you
(03:35):
miss it. You're so busy lookingfor bad that even when you see the
good, you try to find away to turn it into something bad because
you just feel something bad is aboutto happen. But how can we see
God but only looking for bad?How can we call out to God but
don't look for love. How canwe be asking God to come into situation
but not expect the situation to getbetter. We got to start looking for
what we're asking for. Stop askingGod to come to heal you. Stop
(03:57):
asking God to come and sup withyou. But you're just looking for the
devil in your situation. That's nothow it should be. Look for what
you're asking for, Seek after whatyou want, don't stop until you find
it. But please stop asking Godfor things and then you sit back and
don't have the faith or don't havethe patience or don't even care enough to
wait. God is wanting to dosomething all of our lives. God is
(04:20):
wanting to do something in your life. Each person that's listening to me differently.
God wants to have a relationship withyou. God wants to pour into
you like you've never allowed him tobefore in your life. But you have
to be willing. We have tobe willing. We can't want God to
do things that we not do ourpart. God will never asks us to
do more than what He's going todo for us. So the stuff that
(04:41):
God has asked you to do,the stuff that God is putting in your
heart to give up those people.God is asking you to stop going around.
It's for your benefit. God don'tneed nothing from us. God don't
need us to stop talking to thosepeople. God don't need us to stop
thinking that way. He still isrighteous, He's still gonna be holy regardless
of what we do. But Hewants us to be relieved of the daily
stress. He wants us to berelieved of the worldly thoughts, the worldly
(05:05):
worries, the worldly things that getus tripped up. But until we decide,
until we decide for ourselves, thatthis life with God is what we
want until we decide for ourselves thatwe're tired of living the same way every
day, going through the same thingevery day, talking about the same stuff
(05:25):
every day, entertaining the same foolishnessevery day until we get tired. We
always say on our job, I'mtired of the same thing every day,
we're saying relationships, I'm tired ofthe same thing every day. Sometimes at
home, when we're eating, thenI'm tired of eating the same thing every
day. Aren't you tired of livingthe same life every day? Aren't you
tired of failing seems like every day. Aren't you tired of being stressed out
(05:47):
every day? Aren't you tired ofbeing confused every day. I'm not saying
that there won't be days of confusion, but every day. I'm not saying
that you're never gonna feel pain,But every day, every day, I'm
saying, if you're in this place, what you got to lose by trying?
God? Have what has happened towhere your life is so great,
(06:08):
to where you don't feel you needto give God a chance? Tell me,
matter of fact, don't tell me, because whatever you whatever, you
have allowed yourself to think you don'tneed God. I don't want to know
that, because that's a lie.That's a lie. I don't care where
it's a matter of fact. Evenfor the people that feel well, they're
listening like, well, I'm notgoing through anything right now, hold up
long enough. The devil is coming, not wishing it on you. But
that's just the way life works.Just as the sun comes out of rains,
(06:30):
you don't know when it's coming. But I mean even sometimes the weather
man tries to tell you when therain is coming, and he may be
wrong, and sometimes he said, well, we ain't got no rain,
and then look what happens. Itstarts raining. So you don't know.
So even if you're walking in peaceright now, even if you have joy
right now, we'll pray to Godthat you continue to have it. Pray
to God to help do the thingsto make sure you sustain it. Because
(06:50):
again, when we get in theplace of rest, when we get in
that place where we think everything isgood, we let our guards down.
So we should never let our guardsdown. Never let our guards down.
They have a security guard at differentplaces, and it's not every day that
the polace get robbed. They gotthat security guard there just in case.
That guard is there just in casesneeded. That guard doesn't pull out that
(07:13):
gun every day. That God doesn'thave to tell somebody freeze or call the
police for backup. Not every day. Might be a whole year and they
might not need it, but ifthey do, then it's there. So
let's make sure we keep our guardup a matter of fact, not guard.
Let's keep our God up. Let'skeep our God in every situation.
Let's keep our God and every thought. Let's keep out God and every action
because we do need him every day. Unlike that security guard. We need
(07:38):
God every day every day just towake up. You need him just to
breathe, you need him just tomove, you need him just to think.
You need him. So it ain'tlike the security guard. You haighten
need that security guard, but you'regonna need God. That's the difference.
But we thank God as always.I think each and every one of you
that don't kind of robbery to comein and see what they's say. If
the Lord through the mic, Minister, I'm very appreciative at the responses and
(08:03):
the feedback and just the listeners thatcome on and don't find it again.
Robbery. I'm just trying to givewhat God has given to me on my
heart at these different times to sharewith you and pray that it's doing something
to encourage you, something that mighthelp you think, think of things a
different way, maybe get a closerwalk with God. But whatever it is,
I am praying that I am doinga good job and God is happy.
(08:24):
I can't make every man happy, but as long as I make God
happy, That's what I'm concerned about. So I want y'all to be happy.
But again, I can't live mylife worrying about it if you're happy
or not. I gotta when Ilive my life worrying about if God is
happy with me. So along withthat, I like to always give a
shout out to the different different platformsthat allow us to bring forth this encouragement.
(08:45):
Joire Saving podcast Addict, Podchaser Deezer, Google Podcasts, Spotify, Our
Heart, Our Tunes, Cast Barkand Spreaker dot Com, the Defilife podcast
network, and of course you cangoogle the Mic Minister Our and you can
find us someone just about any platformthat has podcasts. But we thank God
(09:05):
as always. I'm just I'm justhonored and humble. To be able to
have this platform to bring forth somethingto God's people that again hopefully helps them
in their daily walk. But itonly works if we apply it. You
know. I think I said thisbefore in another episode that in school,
you know, math was my favoritesubject. I love math, and actually
(09:26):
all my subjects that I did inschool were pretty good. The only one
that used to trip me up ascience, and I'll be honest, is
just signs didn't appeal to me.It wasn't something that I liked like that.
It didn't just it didn't catch mytension like that. So I didn't
apply myself the way I did inother classes. And I'm not a person
who want to be dissecting frogs andall that stuff like that. That just
wasn't my thing. But I alwaysremembered that. One of my science teachers
(09:50):
told me, and he was gettingon me for honestly not applying myself in
his classes. He knew I didand other classes because he saw all my
grades were like and and crazy thingwas, it wasn't that I was failing
his class. It was just Iwasn't putting forth the same effort that I
put forth in other classes. Buthe told me he said, you know
math, he's so good at math. But math is more of you have
(10:13):
to recall it and you understand Youreally get to understand how equations works.
Stuff for that nature. But hesaid, think about science. You have
to apply science, and science isimportant when you apply it. So I'm
saying that to say, a lotof us go through go through to our
life and we ask God for help. We will pray to God. We
(10:33):
believe God could come, but howmany of us are really getting into the
world and applying it. The scienceof knowing God is applying God to your
life. There's a science to understandingwho God is. Now, see when
I say the word science and Isay the word God in the same sentence.
If you look at a lot ofthese National Geographical History Channel shows,
seems like God and science or atwar with each other. Like scientists are
(10:58):
always trying to disprove God because Ican explain it with science. But have
they ever thought, just thought, just a thought when it talks about in
Genesis, I'm just gonna give yousomething brief to think on. This is
not what I came here for today, but just thought. When we look
in Genesis and it says God saidlet there be light, and there was
light. We see that into tothe natural mind, who we say,
(11:22):
okay, God was sitting out inthe atmosphere. He said, let the
be light, and their boom lightcame on. That is possible. That
is possible. God is that mighty. But one day I was looking at
um. I think they were discussingthe Big Bang theory or how atoms and
stuff formed. And as I wassitting there was the first time because I
normally when the scientists are talking, they are trying to disprove God. So
(11:45):
I was like, you know what, I'm not even really fully painting.
I hear with the saying, butI'm not applying it in my mind or
letting sit. But this particular day, I'm watching it and I was like,
well, what if God said letthere be light, and then these
gases that the scientists are talking aboutstarted forming, and they started connecting and
things started matter. Even if itformed that way, if God was the
one who said it in a formthat God never said how the life form.
(12:07):
God never said how these things forhim. He just said that He
called it to be, But itnever was explained in the scriptures. How
sore it's possible, not saying thatGod told me to tell you this.
This is just me looking at somethingto give you a new way of looking
at things. But when sciences, even for a scientist that says, well
there was a Big Bang theory, well what you call the Big Bang theory?
Could it? Could it be thatwhat you try to disprove what God
(12:30):
is could be the thing that Godset into motion that you called on too,
and just don't want to acknowledge thatGod was the one who started it.
Could be just thought. But whatI'm saying that to say that we
there is a science to God.So I mean, God is just not
as simple as two plus two.You got to apply the word. You
got to apply this prayer life. So's you got to apply God in your
life. So just keep in mindthe real, the real tests of where
(12:54):
you are with God in your lifeis how much application are you using.
It's one thing to read the word. We could read the word, we
could study the word. But ifyou're not applying the word, why you're
reading it. It's like God's wordis instruction to our life. So if
i have a desk that I'm puttingtogether and I'm gonna read the instructions,
(13:15):
but not apply it to putting thedesk together. Why in the world am
I reading the instructions if you're notgoing to use it, not telling you
stop reading if you're not using itright now, what I'm telling you is,
if you're reading it, apply itsimply as that some things you won't
always master, some things you won'talways as we feel past that. But
as long as God see you trying, if we make a mistake, God
(13:35):
to give us opportunity to go backand correct it. And what we think
might be a mistake might not somuch be a mistake as we look at
it could be a part of thetraining that God has us going down.
But as long as we're moving towardsGod, as long as we're doing something
to be with God, then Godcould always teach us a better way.
God can always show us an easierway. God could always show us a
more righteous way if we are willing. So with that being said, and
(14:00):
I see that, I don't knowif y'all could hear this, but my
chair wants to be acting up today. It's one of those Oh, we
gotta get some WD forty and spreaddown because now it's creaking like that's okay.
Just try to be a little distraction. But who cares about distractions?
Huh? A lot of times wecare too much about distractions. But distractions
are there. And see what yourfocus is, Devil, don't care how
much you love God or what you'redoing for God. He's gonna send something,
(14:22):
just a little noise, just alittle creak of the chair, and
try to distract you from what Godhas you doing. But it's up to
us to drown up the noise,to drown out the noise and continue pushing
forward and what God has us todo. So with that being said,
I would like to get into whatI came to impartment to God's people on
(14:46):
today and I wanted to do today. I wanted to switch up and I've
done this a couple of times beforeand it's been a couple episodes since I've
done this, But I said,I wanted to start integrating more stories of
people in the Bible and how wecan utilize their lives as pick some things
(15:07):
from their lives that we can usein our daily life to help us with
our relationship with God. I tellpeople a lot. There's two things that
you learn from people. It's whatto do and what not to do.
Now, I say that about peoplein general, but the truth is,
if you're around anybody for enough time, anybody that you know, anybody that
(15:30):
you spent time around, friend, family, whatever, there's been a time
where you's like, you don't needto do what that person is doing.
Well, I should do what thatperson is doing. But there's also been
times where you said, you knowwhat, I ain't for women done,
they're crazy, they're tripping them.So even each person in your life,
you have learned. You have learnedwhat to do and what not to do.
(15:50):
So on today, we're going tolook at one of the one of
the most famous people in the Bible. I didn't say the most famous,
because the most famous is Jesus. There's nobody greater than Jesus, nobody greater
than God. So of course theyare over everything. But they have done
(16:11):
things in man's life or some womenlives, children lives throughout the Bible that
has helped push forward what God cando in our lives today. But today,
who I would like to look atis Solomon, King Solomon, And
for those who are not familiar, are too familiar with King Solomon, I
just want to give a short backdropto give you an understanding before I go
(16:36):
into this part of his story thatI would like to go into now.
King Solomon is the son of KingDavid. Everybody who knows King David and
the Bible, we of course normallyknow David as the story of David and
Goliath and I killed Goliath. Greatstory. There's so much more to David's
life that that's not in mainstream talkedabout. I feel enough, but we'll
(16:59):
get into that as we moved furtherdown the road. But we're talking about
Solomon today. So because of David'srelationship with God, because of how David
was a man after God's own heart. The life that David led and the
way he followed God was so profoundin God's eyes that he promised that he
would always have a part of thekingdom. He would keep a son of
(17:22):
his as a king and have apart of the kingdom. Even when David
went against god word and was disobedientin God's word and God punished him,
he still didn't take the light outof David's house because that's how dedicated David
was. And even when David sain, he turned from his sin and he
went back to God and he askedfor forgiveness. He did those things that
(17:44):
would needed to redeem himself back toGod. So because and I'm saying this,
and I'm stressing us about David, because our lives, the life we
lead, the life we live withGod, can bless those who come behind
us. The life we lead, the life we live with God can be
(18:07):
so powerful that it affects those whoare here long after we're gone. So
that right there within the self shouldhelp us to understand. We got to
stop looking at right now, stoplooking at what you're going through right now,
Stop only looking at right now, stop only looking at what happens,
stop only looking at what you felt. Where are you going? Where are
(18:27):
you trying to get to? Wheredo you want God to take you?
Because I promise you you don't wantGod to take you right where you're at
right now. You want to getsomewhere. But understand it's bigger than you.
We get so caught up in howI feel, or what I want
or what I'm not willing to do. But God is always concerned about everyone.
We looked at Jesus, who's theprime example. In Jesus life was
catered upon worrying about everyone else aroundhim, not himself. It says in
(18:49):
the word that we should take thethought of others over the thought of ourselves.
But what we are doing in thisworld, we only concerned about ourselves,
only con concerned about right now,not thinking about that future. We
think about our children's future when wehad graduations, when we're looking at them
and they might be messing up.I don't want to mess up in their
first future. But do you understandthat how we live as parents can bless
(19:10):
our children. How we live asparents, And I'm not saying how you
parent. I'm saying how you liveyour life. And now it's included how
you parent, but how you liveyour life can bless your kids can bless
your kids, kids, generations tocome. David, his son was blessed
because of how he walked. Howhe walked. Now, don't matter the
blessing over you, don't matter howmuch you are blessed. There is still
(19:33):
a part that you have to play. There is still things that you have
to do now with Solomon received wasthe blessings from his father, but he
still had to walk in that blessing. He still had to be righteous in
that blessing. He still had toappreciate that blessing. And a lot of
times we already blessed. God lovesus, so we're already blessed. But
the question is all we walking inthat blessing, all we trying to make
(19:56):
that blessing more? All we tryingto bless God back for him blessing us.
What are we doing? How arewe approaching God? When God asked
us, Oh, God answers ourprayers, what are we asking for?
What are we seeking truly from God? Those type of things we're about to
look at and how we should belooking at life. So again that was
to give you a backdrop of whoSolomon was. Now at this point of
(20:18):
the story. Solomon is king ofIsrael at this time, and Solomon had
made an affinity with the Pharaoh ofEgypt, and he had took Pharaoh's daughter
and brought her to the city ofDavid. And Solomon was real big.
He wanted to build a palace forGod. He wanted God to have a
palace where they could worship, wherethey could sacrifice things of that nature.
(20:42):
He was really about making a placefor God. Now, one thing that
was still going on. There weresacrifices. Now, I had got to
a point where when in the OldTestament, a lot of times when sins
was made and things were going wrong, there were sacrifices and sometimes just sacrifices
(21:03):
of honor. But it got tothe point where the Israelites were just sending
all over the place and just,oh, way, we could just sacrifice
a lamb, sacrifice a goat orsomething like that, and does we be
good? And it got to thepoint where the sacrifices didn't have the meaning
that they used to have because itwas just a formality for people. I'm
just sending and do a sacrifice andGod to forgive me. And God got
tired of that. But although Solomonloved the Lord, there was still times
(21:26):
where he would go up and hewould do sacrifices or put altars. So
well, I'm going to pick upat for those who would like to read
the story and its entirety, becauseI'm not going to read every scripture of
this story or this part of thestory, but it's in First Kings,
the third chapter where you'll find thisstory that I'm touching on, and I'm
going to start at the fifth andI'm gonna probably go through the rest of
(21:48):
the first chapter, but just kindof skipping around. But again, I
encourage you to go back and readit in its entirety, and I encourage
you to read more about Solomon,to see what his life was like and
how God you to him. Butwe're gonna look at the first part.
So what I want to focus onis Solomon, Solomon's wisdom and the use
of that wisdom. So my thoughtfor you today is what are you asking
(22:11):
God for and how are you usingit? So I'm gonna pick up in
verse five, so and giveyon. The Lord appeared to Solomon in a dream
by night, and God as said, acts which I shall give THEE.
And Solomon said, thou hast showeduntil thy servant, David, my father,
great mercy, according as he walkedbefore THEE in truth and in righteousness,
(22:34):
and in uprightness of heart with THEE. And Thou has kept him from
kept for him this great kindness, that thou has given him a son to
sit on his throne as it istoday. So right there, Solomon's already
saying and acknowledging the fact that howhis father lived allowed him to have mercy
(22:55):
and grace in God's eyes. Soright there, he's already given thanks,
and he hasn't done anything yet.He hasn't even done anything. He's given
things that he's in the place,in a position that honestly he's humbled because
and I'm here, how many ofus have in life got a blessing that
we didn't work for that somebody elsedid something. You got the overflow?
(23:17):
How many times have you been theoverflow for someone else? Think about that?
Now in verse seven that says, and now, oh Lord, my
God, thou hast made thy servantking instead of David my father. And
I ain't but a little child.I know not how to go out or
come in. And thy servant isin the midst of thy people, which
thou has chosen, a great peoplethat cannot be numbered nor accounting for multitude.
(23:41):
So Solomon's acknowledging, Lord, Iam young to us, to excuse
me, to God, we allare young. I don't cow old.
You are eighty year old, you'reyoung to God. Seventy you're young to
gods. You get the picture. We all are young to God. So
we all honestly don't understand. Idon't care how old you are. There
(24:03):
are things that you still don't know. There are things that you still don't
understand. Camera's newspaper you read.Matter of fact, let's go off something
simple. Phones, we don't evenknow all about phones. Every six months
they bring out a new phone everysix months to bring out some new type
of update. Computers, they alwayschange the things up. Things don't six
months from now, and things ain'tgonna be like how they are today.
That's how fast things are changing. So honestly, we think we know,
(24:25):
but we really don't know. Sowe have to acknowledge to God that we
don't know everything. Acknowledge the Godthat we are, that we need God
to teach us. Even what Ithink I know might not be the right
way of going nobody. Even whenI think I know, might be missing
an important part of the information formy total knowledge. But we have to
acknowledge that we don't know everything. Are you willing to acknowledge the God that
(24:48):
you don't know everything, that you'restill a child, that you need that
godness. That's what I'm asking nowin verse nine. This is where this
is deep, because keeping when Ifirst started out in verse five, God
asked Solomon, what shall I givethem now? Notice verse five he asks,
(25:10):
He asks Solomon where he can givehim. We're down to verse nine
and he hasn't even said what hewants yet. He was acknowledging God giving
appreciation. We'll be so ready toask God for stuff that a lot of
times we don't even give appreciation whatGod has already done. We don't acknowledge
what God has brought us from, what God has already done for us.
(25:30):
We're so worried about what we canask God for. That's why we don't
listen and get direction a lot oftimes, because we're too busy talking.
But when it was Solomon's time totalk, he may show technology and appreciate
God for who he was. Now. In verse nine, he says,
give THEE, therefore, thy servantan understanding heart to judge thy people,
that I may discern between good andbad? For who is able to judge
(25:53):
this die so great a people? He asks God to touch his heart so
that he may judge God's people theright way. He didn't go to God
and say, Hey God, Inor him the King make them fear me?
(26:15):
Hey God, what are we askingGod for? What he asks God
for was something that a humility allowsyou to ask for. This is not
a pride for ass This is nota greedy ask, This is not a
selfish ask. He is asking forsomething that not will help him per se,
it'll help him help God's people becausehe understands he can't have the wisdom
(26:40):
the understanding to judge all these people. He doesn't know everything. He just
told God he's young. How manyof us are willing to admit to God
that we're less than so God couldbe more than? In our lives?
Were so busy trying to show peoplewho we are instead of showing God who
we are not, which God alreadyknows. But he want to see if
you're gonna acknowledge it. That's whatwe fool ourselves. Sometime we may maybe
(27:02):
we may never see this out ofour mind. But I know everybody listening
to me and that said this intheir mind before God nor my heart.
God, no who I am?I ain't gonna tell him who I am?
They ain't about that. You're notgiving him information that he didn't know.
He wants to see if you acknowledgeit. How many times you've been
someplace and you said, man, they just admit that they're wrong. If
they just admited on everything. Well, we will do the same thing,
(27:22):
then God can help us. Butnow I'm gonna start just jumped around a
little bit now. In verse tenon eleven, it's talking about let me
read it just just for the sake. In Verse Tenor says in the speech
please the Lord, that Solomon hadasked this thing, It please God.
In verse Levin said, and Godsaid, unto him, because thou hast
(27:45):
asked this thing and has not askedfor thyself long life. Neither has asked
riches for thyself, nor has askedthe life of thine enemies, but has
asked for thyself understanding to discern judgment. It please God. Because Solomon,
when asks what he wanted, hiswant was in selfish. His want wasn't
(28:07):
from greed, His want wasn't fromhatred. His want was from sincerely wanting
to please God. How many ofus, when proposed or ask the question,
the answer is pleasing to God.So because God was so pleased,
you'll see that in verse twelve andthirteen, God is telling him because and
(28:33):
I'm paraphrasing this, because you didn'task for selfish things, because your want
was to be pleasing in my eyesightand have the things needed to be righteous
before my people. I'm gonna giveyou the wisdom that you're asking for.
Not only am I going to giveyou that, I'm going to give you
the riches I'm gonna give you. He's told Solomon that he give him a
(28:56):
wise and understanding hearts of that therewould be none like before him or even
after him. God was so pleasedwith the request that Solomon gaye that he
said, I'm going to grant youthat to the point where there would be
nobody before you or nobody after you. See, we'll be wanting that type
of greatness. We want that kindof money. I don't want nobody before
(29:18):
me or after being richest me.I don't want nobody before after me be
as powerful as me. But whatare you trying to use that for?
Because when you ask for that typeof thing, that means your mind is
already on just that you just wantpower. We look at politicians these days,
it is not even about laws,it's not even about the people anymore.
It's about simply having power. Sowe have an example in the world
(29:41):
right now that we're looking at.I don't care what politician you name,
which one what side of defense youon. I'm talking about every last one
of them, so I have.I'm just being I'm not saying that all
of them bad, and I'm sayingthat none of them want to do a
good job before the most part whatwe are seeing is no matter what side
of defense you on, they're aboutpower power. But if we were seeking
wisdom and understanding to help God's peoplepastors, some pastors about power. Some
(30:07):
congregations want the power. They're nottrying to get understanding. All we're asking
God for understanding. All we're askingGod to open our eyes more. All
were just asking God's to open thingsfor us more. That's what we should
be worried about. But verse fourteen, it's very important because no matter what
we're asking God for, no matterhow God wants to use us or what
(30:30):
God wants to bless us with,Just like he told Solomon in fourteen,
this is what's important. And ifthou will walk in my ways to keep
my statutes and my commandments as thyfather David did walk, then I will
lengthen thy days. We want longlife, We want the blessings that come
(30:56):
with being in a relationship with God. We wonder why things are being held
up. But all you're asking yourselfall you're walking in his ways? Are
you keeping his statues and his commandments? If are you doing that? Can
you fully say you're doing that?A lot of times we want to say
(31:17):
we're doing something, but when wereally break it down, we're not really
doing that. We will say, man, I pray for people like once
a month. Man, you knowI do good, like when I need
something? What are what are webeing consistent at? If you're a good
person, you don't have to tryto be a good person. I've heard
somebody say I'm trying to be better. I'm trying to just be better.
You gotta try to be better. You ain't got anything that we want to
(31:41):
do in life. We ain't gotto try to do. Let me tell
you something that you gotta try. When we be talking like stuff so hard,
I gotta try. If you wantedto climb the side of a mountain
bare handed with no strings or norope, that's that's something you gotta try
to do. That's that's hard. That's hard to do. That there,
that's almost impossible for most people.Stop being a nasty person. Ain't nothing
(32:06):
something that's hard to do. That'sjust making up your mind that you want
to stop being nasty. Before youopen your mouth talking telling people off,
think about what you're saying, thinkabout how you want to be spoken to.
And it's not that hard. Whatas hard as when we want to
give up the habit, when wewant to do what we want to do
and expect people just to accept it. But Solomon said, whatever, God,
whatever you want me to do,I just want to be good for
(32:28):
you. How many of us arewalking around saying, God, I just
want to be good for you.God, give me the love that's need
to give me the understanding that needed, give me the wisdom that needed.
If we would start walking around andwisdom instead of walking around and our feelings,
a lot of things that we takepersonal would not be personal. But
Solomon, after all this, hewoke up and he understood it was a
(32:52):
dream. And then he came toJerusalem and stood before the arker to cover
them the Lord, and offered upburnt offerings and peace offerings and made a
feast fall the servants. Now,we all at some point have a encounter
with God. We all pray,we all spend time with God. I'm
hoping that we all do that.If you're not, I'm encouraging you too
(33:12):
do that. But we spend thistime with God and God gives us these
things that we ask for. Soin this case, Solomon got this wisdom.
God said, I'm a grant youhis wisdom. Not only am I
grant you as wisdom because that's whatyou ask for. I'm a grant you
these riches. I'm gonna make youthe smartest king. I'm gonna make you
mighty than any king that came beforeyou. Keep in mind, David was
a mighty king, and he waswilling to make Solomon greater than that because
(33:37):
of Solomon's heart and what he askedfor. Now, where's your heart at?
Check your heart? Are you askingGod for godly things? Are you
asking God for personal things? That'swhat you got to see. So now
that he woke up understood that Godwas speaking to him, he went and
he was happy. He sacrifice theLord and he made a feast for all
his servants. How many of usjust want to side note, get good
(33:58):
news from the Lord, and thenyou're going try to celebrate other people.
Normally, what we do is we'retestified. We pulled us testified about the
goodness of God. But we getpreparing for our arrival. We get only
prepared for hours. If we hadgot good news, we would make our
own self or feats. We wouldn'tbe inviting nobody. We need to change
our way of thinking, sometimes notsaying everybody's like that, but y'all know
what I'm talking about. But let'sget back to the story. So now
(34:23):
we're down here roughly around verse sixteen, but we're in verse sixteen. Now,
when God blesses you with certain things, how are we using it?
In this case of this story,Solomon was blessed with wisdom. He asks
God for wisdom and understanding so thathe can rule over the people that God
had trusted him with. Talking topastors, right now, we should be
(34:44):
asking for wisdom, We should beasking for understanding. It's not my thoughts
as God's thoughts and not how Ifeel it should be. I should be
in tune with God enough to withGod has showing me and leading me on
how the people should move, andwe should follow that my thoughts how I
think it should go in the church, it's not God's thought what I feel
people should be doing. Did Godtell us? Did God tell you that
(35:05):
pastor. Did God tell you thatminister? Did God tell you to say
that? Did God tell you touse that person? Did God tell you
that person was ready to God askyou to ask that person to do that?
Right now, all we seeking God, stop telling God, well,
I ain't gonna come to you God, I'm using come and sense I'm doing
the right thing. Good intentions don'talways lead the good results. How you
know this is the time that Godwant that person to speak? How you
(35:25):
know did you ask him? Becausethe truth of the matter is we out
here saying we see things in peoplein times people see things in us.
But if God, if it's notGod's timing, if it's not God's timing,
I don't care how good you thinkthat person speak. But if God
ain't, if God didn't call themto speak, this is not their time
to speak. I see I seeingpeople potential. I see that potential.
(35:49):
But because I want the potential tocome out doesn't mean I'm gonna push you
into a situation that you fail oryou trust God less. That's this is
why this is why you go toGod for wisdom. Because our thoughts are
not God's thoughts, our ways arenot his ways. Our timing is not
his timing. Stop saying because youthink it's good that God told you to
do it. If God didn't tellyou to do it, I don't care
how good you think it is ifat ain't time. Matter of fact,
(36:15):
let me give you this thought. You would you go to a crackhead and
give them a hundred dollars if youknew you was trying to get them off
crack. Now, of course peoplesaying wholeheartedly no, I wouldn't. I
wouldn't give him that. That's becauseyou can see it, it's evident to
you. But a lot of thingsthat people deal with in life you don't
(36:35):
say you don't know. So that'swhy we need God. So God can
let us know, Hey, ain'ttime for that. They ain't ready for
that. You don't need to knowwhy they ain't ready. You just need
to know that they ain't ready. But we out here be careful how we
push people just want to say that, but understand also be mindful how we
use the gifts that we ask Godfor when he grants it to us.
(36:57):
So Solomon has this wisdom. Hehas a feast celebrating what God has just
blessed them. Sixteen. Then camethere two women that were harlots unto the
king, and stood before him.Harlots for those who don't know, it's
just another way of saying prostitutes. And the one woman said, oh,
my Lord, I and this womandwell in one house, and I was
(37:22):
delivered of a child with her inthis house. And it came to pass
the third day after that I wasdelivered that this woman was delivered also,
and we were together. There wasno stranger with us in the house save
we two in the house. Andthis woman's child died in the night because
she overlaid it. In other words, she rolled over in the middle of
(37:42):
night, laid on her child andaccidentally killed it. And she arose at
midnight and took my son from besideme while thine handmaid slept, and laid
it in her bosom, and laidher dead child in my bosom. Mmmmm.
And when I rose in the morningto give my child suck, behold
it was dead. I must nowlet me finish the scripture outum. But
(38:08):
when I had considered it in themorning, behold, it was not my
son, which I did bear. You know how deep that got to be,
that you go to sleep at night, your child laying beside you,
and you wake up the next morningand realize at the moment you're thinking,
your child is dead. Can youimagine the heartache that could be, what
(38:30):
that could do to you. Amatter of fact, let me back up
a step. I feel for thefirst woman who can you imagine you're laying
with your child and you happen toroll over and suffocate your child. You
woke up the next morning or wokeup at midnight and realize your child is
dead. Now it's not amazing, like, oh my god, amazing.
(38:51):
But what's amazing to me in thisstory, about this part of the story,
is that when this first mother wokeup at midnight. We've seen mothers
happens to the child. Heck,we've seen mothers at football games when their
child get tackled. They're ready torun on the field and tackle everybody on
the field. So imagine your childdying because of you. The emotions that
(39:15):
she had to keep in check inorder to do. Now, she was
wrong, dead, wrong. We'renot excusing I feel for her her pain,
but our pain does not always excuseour actions. So now, of
course we feel for this woman wholost her child. Of course we do.
You have to be a heartless personnot to care if somebody lost their
child. But that does not excuseher waking up at midnight taking her dead
(39:39):
child, stealing someone else's child inthe boldness to where it's one thing when
somebody kid it's bad enough. Somebodykidnap your child, but they ain't even
laugh. She just laid her deadchild there and took that challenge, just
went back to sleep, like everything, Like like, really, that's how
selfish sometimes we are. Do wefeel justified on harming someone else because of
(40:04):
what we went through? How manyof us today are still hurting others because
of the hurt that you went through. The person that you're hurting didn't hurt
you, but because you're hurt you, you don't mind hurting other people.
Because as long as I'm not theone hurt anymore, I'm so tired of
being hurt. Stop fooling with peoplethat hurt you, Stop going places that
you shouldn't go. We need tostop placating the people who hurt all the
time and start being real with themthat sometimes you go and you give your
(40:24):
best foot forward. I've been there, and people are still gonna hurt you.
But let's be honest and let's begrown about this. A lot of
times, these people that are hurtingyou, you already knew that was sorry.
When you mess with them, youalready knew they would suspect. We
think because it's us, oh theywon't hurt me. Or you think because
you're nice to somebody that automatically theyowe you. That nobody owes you anything.
(40:45):
If they give you nices, that'sgood, and they should. But
just because you're nice to somebody doesn'tmean they're gonna be back nice to you.
But the flip side, just becauseyou went through stuff does not excuse
you doing wrong to others. Theirfriend of Solomon, they're fussing. The
lady told her. The first ladylost her son. I wake up,
(41:07):
I realized as I inspected closer, this is not the son that I bared.
Man, it says twenty two.And the other woman said, nay,
but the living is my son,and the dead is thy son.
And this said no, but thedead is thy son and the living is
my son. That they spoke beforethe king said they're going back and forth.
No, your son is the deadwhen my son is a Livewe no,
your son is the dead. Whenyou're said to the live one,
(41:28):
can you imagine how that's going rightnow? And the king is sitting there,
and I'm pretty sure he doesn't saythis in the word. He's like,
good Lord, and ask the lawfulwisdom. And this the first this
is the first thing that's coming up. Oh goodness, Then said the king.
The one said, this is myson that liveth and thy son is
dead, And the other says, nay, but thy son is the dead
and my son is the living. How you to know? He wasn't there,
(41:51):
And the king said, bring mea sword, And they brought a
sword before the king, and theking said, divide the living child into
get one half to one and ahalf to the other. Didn't spake.
The woman who's the living child wasn'tto the king for her bowers, yearn
her bowels yearn upon her son andsaid, oh, my Lord, give
(42:13):
her the living child, and inno wise slay it. But the other
said that would be neither mine northine. But divided. The mother of
the living child said, please don'tkill that child, just give her to
the other lady. The lady ofthe dad child says, nah, don't
give it to me, and hercut it in half and give me a
(42:36):
half and given another half. Soyou let me. Let me say this
because it wasn't setting here now.Sometimes in life and I'm not saying that
this happened in this story, butit made me think of this. Grief,
anger, hurt will make you dostupid stuff. First, stupid things
she did. Bad things she did, however you want to categorize it,
(42:57):
taking her dad's son, putting thebottle, the lady taking her life on
first bad thing, second bad thing. You don came in here before the
king and said cut the kid inhalf and get me half. So you
were stripping because you had a deadchild. Now you were willing to take
another dead child. That was whatmade you do the thing. First.
We see when the devil gets youin those places, he have you doing
just dumb stuff. It didn't makesense, but good things. Solomon asks
(43:21):
for wisdom because when he said bringthe sward, of course people I knew
people. They're at the feast, like you want to cut the kid in
half. Sometimes when we are doingsomething that God has instructed us, or
we're on a certain path and weknow what we're doing, this right.
You can't be distracted by what otherpeople are saying. It doesn't saying the
scripture, but just in human nature, I have to believe if the people
are listening and they're here, thatthis king says, bring me a sward,
(43:44):
because somebody had to bring the swardto him, and he said he'd
announced the cut, so people hadto be back there like man's this element
trepid, This bad king is hewon't cut the kid in half. But
he was using wisdom. So thelady again who said who had the living
child, said don't cut it.But the lady who was in the wrong,
said, go ahead, cut itand let's divide it. But then
(44:07):
the king answered and said, giveher the living child. And then know
why I slaid. She is themother thereof So the wisdom that God gave
to Solomon, that he asked forallowed him to understand. Hey, if
I take a sword and threatened tokill this child, the true mother the
(44:30):
love it says, her bowels wereout before him because that's how much she
loved them. We know how muchwe love our kids. You're talking about
standing there something happening to your kids. That mother loved her child so much
she would rather see that child goto someone else than any harm come to
her. But the selfish lady whowas in pain justifying her pain. That's
what we do. I was inpain, I was hurt, something happened
to me, so I should makeyou suffer. That lady did nothing to
(44:52):
her but live in the same house, and now she's willing to kill her
son and take half of it justbecause she lost hers. But the wisdom
that Solomon asked for because he didn'tknow when he came to this feast after
this dream that these two harlets wasgonna come here and talk him out a
sun dye and whose son it is? That that's not something you think of.
He probably was worried about how muchfood he had. He didn't expect
(45:14):
this. But because he spent thattime with God, because he already suck
with God, because God had alreadyequipped him. Not only did God equipped
him, he applied with God equippedhim with him the right way. He
asked God to God him, sowhen it came time, he knew and
showed in front of everybody what wisdomlooked like. Because he knew that the
(45:36):
real mother of the child would notwant this child harmed. That's the wisdom
that was used that everybody didn't understandin that moment. But in the verse
twenty eight twenty eight, it says, and all Israel heard of the judgment
which the king had judged, andthey feared the king, for they saw
that the wisdom of God was inhim to do judgment. Now, I
(46:00):
say, that's a very candidate, vivid story that we can look at on
today to show different things we see. And I ask again, what are
we asking God for? When Godcomes to us and granting us these prayers?
What are we really seeking God for? Always seeking things for personal gain,
(46:21):
always seeking things that help others.I'm not telling you that you can't
go to God and you have somethingbefore Him that is personally affecting you.
That's what God is there for. What I am trying to encourage you is
that every time we go to God, it shouldn't be about something selfish.
Every time we go to God weneed money. Every time we go to
God is just for a bill.Every time we go to God because we
want new clothes. What about havingto loving your heart to forgive? What
(46:45):
about having understanding to give good soundjudgment to God's people? What are the
things that we're not asking God for. All we asking God for wisdom,
All were asking God for understanding. All we asking God for patience. All
were willing to take His lead anddo it how he tells us, move
the way he tells us to Allwe asking those things. All we like
(47:05):
Solomon, where we have a heartfor the people and understand that we don't
know it all. We don't haveit all. We're not going to know
at all. We need God inevery aspect of our life. So when
we get to the place now, just so you know, Solomon is not
Jesus. He made mistakes, hedid things that were wrong in the outside
of God. But when God cameto him in that time and ask them
(47:28):
what he wanted, he wasn't askingfor himself. He was asking for the
goodness of God's people. So I'msaying to us on today, I'm not
telling you not to pray for yourdeliverance. I'm not telling you not to
pray for your peace. I'm nottelling you to pray for more faith.
What I'm telling you is it shouldn'tonly be about us. It shouldn't only
be about what I need. Itshouldn't only be about what I'm thinking it
shouldn't only be about what I'm feeling. As a matter of fact, it
(47:49):
should be morn to about what canI do God to help your people.
It says in the word, seekye first the kingdom of heaven, and
all these things will be added untoyou. See when we hear the kingdom
of heaven, not just getting toheaven, seek ye those things that are
of heaven where God resides. Alwaysseeking righteousness, always seeking fairness, always
seeking love, always seeking getting over, always seeking get in the head,
(48:10):
always just seeking the bag, alwaysseeking get back. What are we seeking?
Because seek ye first. What youseek first, that's what's being added
to you. So if you're seekingretribution on people that you don't speak to
anymore, that's why you keep attractingthese people that are just like the ones
you used to because you're still holdingonto that anger and that resentment. So
the devil knows that, let memake it I'm a little more angry.
The devil ain't gonna se you holdingon the anger and say hey, let
(48:32):
me sit on some peace. Thatdevil ain't gonna see you still holding onto
this resentment and say hey, letme send somebody that's gonna make you forget
about that. He's gonna send peoplethat stokes that fire. When are we
gonna ask for God's peace? Whenare we gonna seek those things of God?
To encourage you on today? WhenGod is asking you what you require,
(48:52):
what you request from him, makesure it is things of God,
and God will make sure as hedid for Solomon. He'll add on the
rest, we thank God for thestory about Solomon and his wisdom and what
he was granted from God when hewas asked. On today, I encourage
you to read more about Solomon seesome of his missteps, because, like
(49:15):
I said, we can learn whatto do and what not to do if
we pay enough attention. So Ishowed you in this story some things we
could do that we learn from Solomon. But I encourage you to read more
about Solomon and you'll see certain thingsthat we shouldn't do that he did.
But all in all, he wasa man that follow after God, that
loved God and wanted in his heartsincerely to be rightful God's people, and
(49:38):
I feel that's how we all shouldbe. Let us pray, Dear Heavenly
Father, We thank you on today. God, We reverence, and we
bless your holy name. God.We understand God that without you we are
nothing. We understand God that withoutyou we wouldn't even be here. So
on today God, we thank youGod for allowing us to see another day.
(49:58):
God, we thank you for anotherweak God. We thank you for
your blessings, your protection, yourredemption, God, your deliverance right now
when the name of Jesus God.But on today we seek you, Father,
We seek your godance, We seekyour wisdom, We seek your understanding,
that you allow it to touch us, Father, so that we'd be
better listeners. Father, that webe better counselors, that we be better
friends, better fathers, better sons, better daughters, better just better for
(50:22):
you, God, and better foryour people. Got to ask that you
encamp your angels around your people.Got to ask Father, that you encourage
your people like never before. Iask God, that you touch the hearts
and minds of your people, thatthey seek you like never before, that
we listen like never before. Father, that we follow your lead like never
before. God, that we searchafter those things that are the Kingdom of
heaven. And that you will addto other things to us. Father,
(50:44):
and understand if you didn't add itthat we didn't need it. In the
name of Jesus, Father, sowe thank you on today. Touch the
children, Father, Touch all families, Touch the world as a whole.
Father, Touch the places where theword has not been received. Touch the
places where they are not allowing themto speak the word. Allow that word
get to your people, Father, because we understand that you want none of
your children to perish. Right now, when the name of Jesus Father,
(51:05):
we just thank you for everything you'redoing. I speak a blessing over your
people. I speak of healing overyour people. But most of all,
I speak a closer relationship with you, over all your people. God,
we thank you, We bless you. Most of all, God, we
love you. It's in your sonJesus name that we pray. Ain't man,
Remember God loves you, and sodo I be blessed. Come up,
(51:39):
Welcome to them, my man. It's the hour where you didn't get
some pair of change. Doesn't feela power they gotta do tell the words
of the lights of food. Thenit didn't get the vol Help you stay
focused, grow hard when they don'tnotice this the Holy water. Who's gonna
help me pol to make a plainand put it in most they do emost
(52:00):
when you chose this for the oneswho I spoken. If you up when
you're broken, welcome to them,my man. It's the hour where you
didn't get some pair of chains.Nothing feel a power already. Gotta dude,
take one. I'too the wordest likesof food. Then he didn't get the vower
