Speaker 1 (00:02):
And welcome back to another episode of the Locker Room.
I got on the line with me the right eyed
and bushy tail coach man trailaway coach. How you doing today, sir,
I'm doing, find doctor Prince.
Speaker 2 (00:16):
I'm looking forward to another uh great week in life
and also another great week in.
Speaker 3 (00:22):
The locker room.
Speaker 1 (00:23):
Oh right there, sir, lo I know you feel it
mighty good. The way them bulldogs been walking up and
down the field here lately too.
Speaker 2 (00:29):
Huh yeah, they making up all of us proud right now.
But the big test have come this wee can.
Speaker 1 (00:35):
Yes, sir, yes sir, yes sir. Well, we'll get to
that later on as I continue to try to make
a little ground on you. I hope you enjoyed this
couple of week cushion I allowed you to have. But
it's time to turn up to heat, sir, and make
ups from make ups some lost ground.
Speaker 2 (00:49):
Well, then this is the time. This is the time,
because we now we're getting into uh well, they say
all games matter, but this is really different big test now,
as we'll start getting in the.
Speaker 1 (00:59):
Sweat, yes sir, yes, sir. Well, let's go over the
week that was, give our letter grades out. Then we'll
go on our future picks and see if we can
kick down the locker room today.
Speaker 2 (01:11):
All right, we'll start down at Gramley, Louisiana, where Gramling played.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
Host to Each Texas A and.
Speaker 2 (01:18):
Them in the Close Room. Grammlin won the game thirty
one to twenty eight. I want to give Gramlin a
B in this game, even though they won. They were
at home. Each Texas A and Them is is not
a powerhouse. Only to win by three, Uh, they had
to get a B.
Speaker 1 (01:36):
Well, I'm giving them a B as well. I'm giving
them a B because it's a Southling opponent and we've
struggled against the south one. We try to use them
as a measuring stick and I don't care if it
was close. They got it. You hear my grade later
kind of reflect opposite that would purve you. But I
(01:59):
gave him a beat.
Speaker 3 (02:00):
I gave love you, okay. I.
Speaker 2 (02:02):
Then we'll go out to Uh down to Florida. Well,
Batune Cookman played host to Edward Waters uh Baduon Cookman
won that game thirty five to nine. Uh. I'm gonna
give bethune An a because this is one of the
games that I thought bathoone would lose and so Bathoon
Cookman gets to the A for putting it on for
(02:23):
Edward Water.
Speaker 1 (02:24):
Well, I don't know why you felt that way, coach.
You know, you know, I know the Jenkins return back
to the scene and all that was noteworthy, but it's
still Edward Waters at the end of the day, sir.
And so I'm glad that they they held it down.
I gave him a B plus because I'm I knew
(02:45):
that they were were We're gonna win this, but I
I wanted to shut out. That's why I remember. I'm
a B plus.
Speaker 2 (02:52):
Now I got I got I. And then we'll start
with my alma mater.
Speaker 1 (02:56):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (02:56):
They Alabama and them played host and Lane College and
the Alabama A and M won that game forty nine
to seven. Uh. I'm gonna give my Bulldogs an A.
You know the reason why I'm doing that. Uh they
won this game with their backup quarterback. Uh Caard Brown
was injured in that Tennessee State game late on the
(03:16):
LA uh second to the last drive. He did not
play at all. He's he's been around campus all weekend
and walking boot.
Speaker 1 (03:23):
Oh wow, I hate to hear that, coach, but there.
Speaker 3 (03:26):
Was no need for him.
Speaker 1 (03:27):
I'm giving him the bulldogs and A as well, and
I'm giving 'em an an A for style points to
coach that they're looking pretty good man looking aggressive.
Speaker 2 (03:35):
Right, we we're we're proud of 'em. Uh that Uh
you can see the difference in the in the team.
And Uh. But like I said, I think this week
would be the big test and then last but not
least very short scheduling the swag. Last week, Uh, your
uh Prairie View Panthers played host to Northwestern. Uh Prairie
won that game twenty seven to twenty four. Uh, I'm
(03:59):
gonna give your your Panthers the A miners. They won.
They were at home, uh twenty seven twenty four, So.
Speaker 1 (04:07):
Uh that's my grade for them, A minus.
Speaker 2 (04:10):
Uh, yes, they won.
Speaker 1 (04:12):
Well, I need to sign up for your class. Wow, coach, Okay,
I can't mu see coach, i'm'a tell you why. I'll
tell you why. As they said, it was a twofold message.
Northwestern is definitely a bottom feet of the Southwes struggle
(04:34):
to a degree, but did get the win. I'm important,
it's important. It's the wind is important. Spressly, going into
this week's matchup against Grammler However, maybe this is not
solely on the team went on. I'm gonna put it
on there anyway. The the the the stands were just embarrassing.
Speaker 2 (04:57):
Oh I I I I that that's up. Thanks for me.
Speaker 3 (05:00):
Forty five hundred.
Speaker 1 (05:02):
Now cold cold, cold, cold cold coke coke. I will
not disrespect you, sir, because you're the Google, Okay, but
there is no way, and I mean absolutely no way,
that there was forty five of anything, let alone one
(05:23):
hundred in that stadium on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (05:27):
Wow.
Speaker 1 (05:27):
No, sir, no, wow, Now you you I don't care
what numbers they're talking about, and I'm uh, and I'm
really beginning to think that there's some Peter Pan motions
going on with these numbers. There is absolutely no way
that there was forty five hundred people in that stadium
on Saturday. Sir.
Speaker 2 (05:48):
Well, that to me that that's an issue all around
the swab because you take Alabama and them. They listened
to us, they said that we had nine seven hundred.
I was in attendance. I didn't see that myself. At
Bethne Cookman, they played host to Edward Ward Jickens coming
home seven thousand, nine hundred, grabbing the state.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
At home four thousand, two hundred.
Speaker 2 (06:15):
How are we paying our bills?
Speaker 3 (06:19):
I would not bill.
Speaker 1 (06:20):
We're not paying the bills as they stole saying Robin
Peter to pay Paul. But once again going back to
the original concept of collegiate athletics as a whole, they
were never designed when they were first initiated into college institute.
They weren't designed to make money. They were designed for
extracurricular activities. They wasn't designed to make a profit.
Speaker 3 (06:41):
Coach, Well, we're't living up to that. We're living up
to that.
Speaker 2 (06:48):
Yeah, oh man, it was. It was. Yeah.
Speaker 1 (06:51):
It's a dismal and we keep digging a deeper ditch,
you know, trying to keep up. You know, at some
point the dam is just going to give in, right,
and when it does, I just hope that that that
the land has been cleared out below that there are
no casualties, sir, right.
Speaker 2 (07:09):
Right, So so this week, uh, in the squack, you
got one of your wings back by me picked up
going with Edward Water. But in the me actually, there
are a couple of things I want to bring out
South Carolina State, which is supposed to be one of.
Speaker 1 (07:23):
Oh my goodness, yes, sir, yes.
Speaker 2 (07:25):
They went up to South Florida and they got drugged
sixty three to fourteen, uh huh. And then the big
one in the in the meact, North Carolina.
Speaker 3 (07:35):
Central goes into ed t uh huh and they put a.
Speaker 2 (07:39):
Beat down on at sixty two to twenty. And this
since you talk about I've just read where the head
coach from North Carolina is at suspend, has thrown one
of his players off of the uh off the team.
They had a pregame incident where this player use his
(08:00):
water bottle in an inappropriate way. He sprayed the head
coach from North Carolina City with the water bottle before
the game. And so I think this helped that situation.
Speaker 1 (08:11):
What they say that they say poking the bear yep, yep,
he put.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
That bad and that bat put on them at their place.
Speaker 1 (08:19):
Yes sir, yes, sir. Yeah, so that's where, that's where.
Speaker 3 (08:23):
What was that movie?
Speaker 1 (08:24):
Remember the title? He said, remind them that this is
the night? Yeah yeah, yeah, So certain things you gotta
you gotta learn how to win, just like I learned
how to lose, coach and yeah, yeah, that's that's bad.
That's h yeah.
Speaker 2 (08:39):
And then the the Battle of the h U S
Howard won beat Hampton UH thirty four to seventh.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
Yes, sir, yes, sure, I had to claim this year
of the real, the real h U. Yes, sir, Well,
has North Carolina A and T lost their lusters? Question?
Speaker 2 (08:58):
Yes, they have both look North Carolina A T and
have to have lost the luster.
Speaker 1 (09:04):
Well, then, to be honest, never had that much luster
when they left the me act any right, you know, come,
I mean, I'm not trying to knock them on nothing.
You know, I hated to see both of them leave,
you know, And this is like how I feel about
the Tennessee State Peace. I get it. You were hot,
(09:26):
you know, you were you know, on top shelf if
you would, and then you didn't got out there on
that island. Now you realize that you regular old crackers.
Speaker 2 (09:37):
Yes, yes, yeah, all right, And so that leads us
up to this week big games, Big games, big games. Yes, sir,
We're gonna start out in the state of Florida where
Florida and them would be playing host to Alabama State.
Speaker 1 (09:51):
How did you see this, sir, sir, I'm gonna have
to take them horn it. And I know family is
at home, m and I ike family been at home.
But until proven otherwise to see it. And I always
get bit by the Hornets. I picked them, you know,
in the early part, cause they're looking good. But body
is healthy, they're they're generator, and the defense is not
(10:15):
too shabby neither the coach. I I just think the
Hornets are gonna pull it out on the road.
Speaker 2 (10:20):
And you know what, for all those reasons, I agree
with you. I'm with Alabama State, okay playing It's great,
they're they're playing some of the best football in the Swag.
Speaker 3 (10:29):
Yes, sir, I think the difference has been body, Yes, sir.
Speaker 2 (10:34):
Alright. Next up, Texas Southern goes down the Mississippi Valley.
Speaker 1 (10:39):
Oh my goodness, coach, believe or not. When I looked
at this in the preseason, I had Texas Southern, uh,
hands down. Uh. But there's a little in house squabbing
from what the grape vine is saying.
Speaker 4 (10:56):
Uh at Texas Southern. But we still talking about all correct.
And I know you said her Man, just make it
pick stop doing who is I gotta keep my ground, coach.
I gotta keep my ground. Oh my goodness.
Speaker 1 (11:17):
I'm oh, any mean mighty more. Give me Texas Southern
to show I'm gonna take Texas.
Speaker 2 (11:25):
So I got you and and I agree because I'm
I'm just going on the thing. This is Valley, So.
Speaker 1 (11:37):
Brother Lee is not listening right now right, I'm.
Speaker 2 (11:42):
Gonna I'm gonna quit Valley. Also, now we're gonna have
a toss up here all Course State at Arkansas Pine Bluff.
Speaker 3 (11:55):
Either team's doing well me the one is doing well.
Speaker 1 (12:01):
All Coin is more disappointing at this stage from what
I've had anticipated. I'm gonna take the Golden Lions, right,
take the Golden Lions.
Speaker 2 (12:12):
Only reason why I'm taking the lines there at.
Speaker 1 (12:14):
Home, yes sir, Yes, sir.
Speaker 2 (12:17):
That that that's the That is the only reason I'm
taking the lines. Also because all right now we'll have
a game that will probably separate us. Jackson State at Southern.
Speaker 1 (12:33):
Ain't no separation. I'm sorry, No, you're not luring me
into that one because I thought you were going with
the team. I'm gonna I'm going with Jackson, sir. You
know the I love js U that Jackson, Yes, sir, Yes,
yes sir, yes sir, You're not separation now, Ain't no
(12:55):
separation in that coat.
Speaker 2 (12:56):
Yeah, they're playing well, they're playing well.
Speaker 3 (12:59):
All right.
Speaker 1 (13:00):
Now you try to bake me just in, Coach, I
sure did.
Speaker 3 (13:08):
All right.
Speaker 2 (13:08):
Now here we go, I'm a models. I'll start with
mine verse Alabama A and M goes down to DAYTONA
for Pathune Cookman. How do you see that, sir?
Speaker 3 (13:18):
Uh?
Speaker 1 (13:18):
Both of them come off with strong wins. But I'm
liking the way the bulldogs are looking, Sir. I'm gonna
pick the bulldogs on the road.
Speaker 2 (13:26):
I'm with the bulldogars off so I cannot give up
on my Alma mater alrighty, now, State Farm Classic. I
think that's what they call this game, grabbing State and TV.
You're Alma MATERA.
Speaker 3 (13:41):
How do you see it?
Speaker 2 (13:43):
After you gave him a seat, after you gave your
your path's a fie, coach.
Speaker 1 (13:48):
You know what, in my heart of hearts, I got
this as a pick them. I really do. Both of
them coming off of wins, okay, both of them needing
this win a purview more so than Grammar because Praivi
already has the game up then, particularly in the West.
(14:13):
I'm gonna roll with my Panthers in this one, sir.
I'm gonna roll with my Panthers.
Speaker 2 (14:18):
I'm gonna tell you why. I think you all get
it done. Also, Grandma has not played anybody yet mm hm.
Gremlin has not tested the waters. They they have their
schedules based on the Vision two opponents m H. And
I don't think that that they have been tested enough.
(14:40):
I think that the Panthers have played a better competition
at this point. And I'm gonna and I'm agree in
agreement with you that PV will prevail.
Speaker 1 (14:52):
Yes sir, Yes, sir.
Speaker 2 (14:53):
That means that we have picked the same teams all
the way down and we need a tiebreaker. Let's see
in the MIAC.
Speaker 3 (15:06):
To bait me on that sea I thought I had,
but to be honest, not in the MIAC.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
They're playing out of conference. They don't have a matchup.
Speaker 5 (15:17):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (15:18):
North Carolina Central plays East Texas A and M on
the road. I don't think that'll be a contest. Central's
playing well.
Speaker 3 (15:28):
South Carolina State.
Speaker 2 (15:29):
Is at Charleston, Southern Morgan is hosting. Now they're playing
Miles in Indianapolis, so that must be Circus City.
Speaker 1 (15:38):
Yes, Howard is playing up.
Speaker 2 (15:40):
They're playing Richmond, Delaware State, Sacred Heart North wag Now, okay,
now I'll tell you what your Missouri Tigers, yes, sir,
have been playing pretty digit football.
Speaker 1 (15:56):
Yes, sir, do you who are they playing this week?
Speaker 2 (15:58):
Do you know?
Speaker 5 (16:00):
Oh?
Speaker 1 (16:00):
If I'm not mistaken, Missouri they played South Carolina. Oh no,
they played them last week. I think they have a
boy this week.
Speaker 2 (16:13):
Oh they have a boy.
Speaker 1 (16:14):
I'm I'm gonna make me make sure.
Speaker 2 (16:18):
Now.
Speaker 3 (16:18):
Uh who who dies?
Speaker 1 (16:21):
Alabama?
Speaker 2 (16:22):
Break?
Speaker 3 (16:23):
Huh?
Speaker 2 (16:24):
Alabama was off?
Speaker 1 (16:26):
Hey Google? What's the schedule for Missouri Tigers? They play
University in Massachusetts.
Speaker 2 (16:37):
Oh, that's you math, they'll beat the breaks off of them.
Speaker 1 (16:40):
You think they'll beat the breaks off of them? Coach? Okay,
you can't play that.
Speaker 2 (16:46):
That's a that's a uh uh No, no, no, no,
they played basketball.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
That's I can't. I can't bait you on that one. Coach.
Speaker 2 (16:53):
No, no, no, no, not at all, not at all.
Speaker 3 (17:00):
I can't.
Speaker 1 (17:00):
I can't bait you at all.
Speaker 2 (17:02):
Coach. South Carolina State is playing where they're coming off
of drumming, So that's not a good game. You wanna
take Central on the road at East Texas A and M.
But I think we both of the.
Speaker 1 (17:13):
Cities, Man, we gonna probably pick. We're gonna both pick
Central on that man. All right, yes, y'are you know
how you know what coach, let's let's let's go with
the uh over under on our games. Whoever get the
closest on the over under for our Alabama A and
M and the Press game? How about that? You're doing
(17:34):
like that? Okay, okay, uh you guys are playing, but
through them cook me. Both of y'all scored a heap
of points these last years. I'm'a go combine over under
forty four and a half, sir.
Speaker 2 (17:51):
So you say between the two teams, just scol So
that's twenty twenty forty four and a half, Okay, forty
four and a half for Doctor Prince, and I think
I will say I'm gonna go under there, so I
go quarter.
Speaker 1 (18:13):
For okay, okay, okay, and then for the Prairie View,
uh Grandma game.
Speaker 2 (18:20):
I thought we just need to do one now so
then we can bring.
Speaker 1 (18:23):
Okay, okay, yeah, we do what. We'll do one. We'll
do one, yeah, because if we do if we do two, look,
I was trying to get one on more you there,
cause IM trying to give me a couple more nuggets,
you know, so I can even this thing out, you know. Okay,
So we got the forty four and a half for
Alabama A and M and be thrown cooking.
Speaker 3 (18:45):
And you're going under that correct and you're going over.
Speaker 1 (18:49):
Yes, sir, yes, sir. So we got we gotta come
on Bulldogs and come on Wildcats and just like that
scoreboard up for old brother Prince on Saturday.
Speaker 2 (19:00):
Yeah that work. That worked.
Speaker 1 (19:02):
Okay, Okay, so we got we got the pigs in,
we got our grades in and coach, you know, people
are still a little antsy about this swack TV thing.
Speaker 2 (19:15):
Oh yeah, that was a time that was a big
topic at our place on Saturday because two of the
people that that have actually doing the games, uh, they
brought in college from the East Coast. He came in
and he did the endom game along with more Carter
and they both had, uh, you know, had a quite
(19:37):
a few things to say about swack TV.
Speaker 1 (19:40):
Okay, and what's what's that feedback, Coach, Well.
Speaker 2 (19:44):
That that what we've always said, what we've already said
is that the different institutions have to do a better
job of providing I guess it's the bandwidth that whatever
it is they need to to get the broadcast.
Speaker 1 (19:59):
Out right right right and and see and that's where
that's what people think and you know what, well, you
know what's crazy, coach, This is really crazy to me.
When ESPN was having problems, everybody was patient. Oh yeah,
But now that the slag TV are having some hiccups,
everybody's in patient, complaining and moaning and groaning. Okay, the
(20:23):
the the data and bandwidth that's available for research is
totally different than the data and bandwidth that's available for
a video stream.
Speaker 3 (20:35):
Right.
Speaker 1 (20:35):
It takes a lot of hartships.
Speaker 2 (20:38):
Right, Is it not true that when ESPN comes in
they come in with their own satellite trucks so well,
in some cases when they have difficulties, it's because of
their own equipment, their own of stuff to get there.
Depending on the game. You know, if they put the
money into the game, they bring their own sale.
Speaker 1 (21:01):
Right, right, right, That's what I'm just to say. Now,
in the case of HBCU GO, they bring their TVs
and satellite trucks to the location and a smooth operation.
And what's going to happen eventually, Uh, you gotta do
some infrastructure for these campuses, get everybody on the same
(21:24):
equipment for consistency from campus to campus. But once again
coached in Prairie View, Yeah, it's close to Houston, but
it's not Houston, and it Abta they it's in Abeta, Okay,
uh and and in other rural areas Arkansas, Pine Rough
(21:45):
and places like that, there are not a lot of
towers to have a robust feed, a continuous robust feed
for that bandwidth necessary for smooth flow. But I'm begging, encouraging,
let us remain patient, right right, let us suffer through. Yeah,
(22:09):
I know it's rough, but you know, it's good to
have something to complain about. There's nothing to complain about
it all.
Speaker 2 (22:15):
Absolutely, absolutely, And you would think that these institutions of
how learning would have the capability of putting out what
I'm putting on their campus what they need. But I
guess you explained that what they need on the educational
side is different from what is needed for.
Speaker 1 (22:36):
Athletic on the athletic Yes, sir, yes, sir, it's just
like it's just like, and I don't know the engine
that could for the layout for Swack TV or Swack
Digital Network, but a lot of people think, especially when
they were operating with Swack Digital Network on YouTube television.
The most common approach that people get a laptop or
(23:00):
uh a computer and they go stream happy, hip hip parade.
But you need not even a regular laptop or a computer.
You need what they call a gaming computer, these robust,
heavily equipped UH computers with all the bells and whistles
and the speed for for handling all that processing power
(23:21):
necessary for a video stream. Once again, I'm emphasizing video streaming,
not like audio that doesn't require a whole bunch of bandwidth.
But that video stream you got the four D and
the I mean four k HD quality, then you gotta
have the good audio quality. So all of that thing.
It's like and I think I may have just explained
(23:43):
this before trying to put that that that Pinto or
Pinto motor in a Cadillac. Right, it's not gonn it'll
work downhill all day long, but it's when you're going
uphill when you wanna have it. So they gotta a
congen to find home some things. And it's gonna get better.
It's gonna get better, you know, And y'all be patient. Now,
(24:07):
just just be prepared for this. People that are listening
when they do get it right, start crying when they
start charging some Gipson fees.
Speaker 2 (24:16):
I knew that was I knew that was yah.
Speaker 1 (24:19):
Hey, hey, coach, you gotta pay the play, right, yes sir, yes, sir,
you know, and I don't want to hear it. You
were willing to pay them demons from ESPN eleven dollars
a month. Donna pay the swag eleven twelve twenty dollars
a month if you had to, because I'd rather give
that because I know it's staying at home than to
(24:39):
be being sposed out by the media mafia which is
known as ESPN, right right.
Speaker 2 (24:46):
And and now that's uh, that was great. That was
great because a lot of times we don't we don't
understand what it takes to put on a production.
Speaker 1 (24:56):
Oh colch yep, coach. You know for the years that
we've been attempted to do this at open mic, uh,
and we do it on the audio end, and it's
it's a challenge each week, but it's a labor of love.
And people understand. See people just used to flipping on
and enjoin, you know, and not jumping on it. Yeah,
they they appreciate it. So don't even make donations. But
(25:19):
it takes a whole bunch of behind the scene flowing
to get this thing to be done. Properly, you know,
and they have some quality productions doing. So it's coming.
It's coming. Just uh, what the what the rabbit saying
when he got his tail cut? It won't be long now,
(25:40):
you know, we're gonna get We're gonna get it together.
We're gonna get it together. So I'm encouraging them to
hold on. So be strong, swack Nation. We didn't went
to a whole lot worse. You know, at one time
dat e want us walking around the TV cable, let
alone to be on their TV channels. So we're gonna
we're gonna be all right you all right, So we
(26:02):
got we got all that cut and coach, I gotta
club this end. And and I'm gonna say it, and
I'm not being a hater, but don't y'all be a
man in height train. This boy had done good against
a couple of preochial schools and they trying to put
him back in the mix. That is right as good
as they've been advertising.
Speaker 2 (26:23):
Right, Well all this pre seasons talk about hising tropic.
You know, just go ahead and mail it ends they
can forget he won't even be in New York.
Speaker 1 (26:36):
Well, you know what I'm gonna be interested seeing especially
off the heels of the seedor Sanders deal. Where will
he fall in this draft? Even if you do declares
to go for the draft this season, right, he better.
Speaker 2 (26:52):
Look, he better take some good inviting and stay in school.
I don't think now he's not gonna follow us as
barn should do her. But he won't. I don't think
he's the first rounder.
Speaker 3 (27:07):
He's just doctor me now, he's not a first rounder.
Speaker 2 (27:10):
Not so I think it's it's folks should get in
his ear and let him know he's gotta stay. And
he might already see that. I don't think they got
to tell him that.
Speaker 1 (27:23):
And I mean he's getting pretty well compensated with his
ni L deal.
Speaker 5 (27:27):
You right, so my money is not well, money was
never then issue with him, and he's it's familing anyway,
right right, right right, still riding on, Daddy Cook tells.
Speaker 1 (27:39):
So they all right, man, and you know what Archie
man in God bless him, good quarterback. I mean he didn't.
He wasn't no world beating, not close.
Speaker 2 (27:50):
He ain't not up the world. No, he did not,
you absolutely correct.
Speaker 1 (27:54):
You know, I'm like, come on, man, you know I
remember him playing with the Saints as a young lady
growing up when they were referred to as the ants
and all that. But but come on, man, you know,
but you're giving the credit there. They're the quarterback gurus
of the collegiate and NFL ranking. They got one of
(28:14):
the well sought after QB clinics in the country, and
their their marketing and and maximizing that the name and
that brand, if you would. And this is just another
typical ridings Away situation. But it seemed like serfs is
not up right now, buddy, the sharks are circling the
(28:36):
wagon and you better hope you don't get shark.
Speaker 2 (28:38):
Bit right and see that you know, uh, they've been
doing that for years. And that's just like here in
the state of Alabama yesterday the big announcement where Bruce
Pearl was stepping down at all. But right, well, why
why is he doing that?
Speaker 1 (28:52):
Why is he doing that?
Speaker 3 (28:53):
Look? Look who look who he put it in like
his own hello son.
Speaker 2 (29:00):
A Right, So see how they have been doing that
for years. Uh, they name their own successors. They they
the nepotism. Uh, they they bring their kids in and
and and make sure that they're uh they're doing well.
This this kid has never been a head coach and
he comes out of the gate with a fire.
Speaker 1 (29:17):
Year contract, right, so and and and they complain about
lebron James looking out for Bronnie correct.
Speaker 2 (29:23):
Correct, correct, yep. So this is uh, this is this
is nationwide and uh, we're just not getting caught up
with the game. They've been doing it for years.
Speaker 1 (29:36):
Yes, sir, Yes, sir. And something about getting caught up. Coach.
I know we're in the thicker football season, but we're
almost at the end of September, and uh, you got
the SWAT media day basketball for October seventh and the eighth,
and I know you get excited. You'll you'll call time out,
uh from the sideline and pick up your whistle and
go on the court when everything get get caught up
(29:58):
in there. Are you seeing any sleepers right now before
yet you can drop on us before they make any
announcements and picks.
Speaker 2 (30:07):
I'mna tell you right now, you better look out for
Batune Cookman. You might for Batoon Cookman because they have
probably put together a roster of first team all Swackers,
those transfers in uh that have come into Bethune Cookman
(30:28):
from all over the conference, different places in the conference.
Those are first teamers that are on one team. Bathune
Cookman is one of the teams that I.
Speaker 3 (30:37):
Think is gonna Uh can you say n I al coach, Yes, yes, yes, well.
Speaker 1 (30:48):
It's gonna it's gonna be interest will dive into that
a little bit later. But coach, uh, you sure you
don't want to do that? Other over other man for
reviews have happened, No, sir, well, I guess I can't
get them this week. Y'all have to wait till next
week before I catch them. So with that, coach, I'm
(31:08):
gonna give you some some closing thoughts and comments. We
wrap this segment up.
Speaker 2 (31:12):
Sir, right right, this has been great.
Speaker 3 (31:13):
Uh. I love the dialogue.
Speaker 2 (31:16):
I love the back and forth. Uh if we put
you put out a lot of information that I think
you need to need to stay encouraged and continue doing
what you're doing some day.
Speaker 1 (31:27):
Well we try and say so, uh avs say we
work hard because we have to, you know so, and
and and let me drop this on on people. I've
been asked all the time, man, you think you ever
do video? Now? I don't think I'm gonna do video, coach,
because I'm a radio guy. I'm just an audio guy
and it's it's uh a medium that is still strong.
(31:56):
It takes a little bit more effort to me because
you have to be the scriptive. You have to be
somewhat article and somewhat knowledgeable. Then the flash from graphics
and this, that and the other. And I'm not knocking
anything or anybody, but I love this. I love this
and it's part of what I do. I have a
little model that I developed some years ago. Coach, love
what you do, Simplify what you do, and master what
(32:18):
you do. And when you do that, when you do
your best, you can't do no more. In God, It's
gonna always be pleased. So because of folks like you
who have contribute to our content, I'm thankful for you, sir,
Thankful for your content, thank you for your knowledge, your energy.
Not thankful that you're heading me right down the pitch.
Well we'll fix that down the road. But you know,
(32:41):
but we shall be stating tall at the end of it.
