is our mission to try to bring you some news
you could use. Today is no exception to the rule.

relatively busy week on the Heel Panthers after their road
win against the All Coin State Brais have a well
deserved bye week, so they'll get a chance to rest
before they hit the road for Baton Rouge, Louisiana. Meanwhile,
you do have a very very highly anticipated game this

weekend between the Alabama State Hornets and the Jackson State Tigers.
Will be keeping you tracked on that on Day Loan
this coming weekend when the teams do battle. You will
have a special episode going on this weekend covering swack
coverage throughout the weekend on our website at obnradio dot

com on that listen live link. All you have to
do is styal at eight five seven seven seven seven
zero zero zero zero and check out our coverage all
day long for Swack football. That's going to be this
coming weekend special audition. We'll call it out I guess
the sports portal, and we will go around the conference

with scores, updates, and game coverage once again. It'll be
this coming Saturday at two pm Central time. We'll get
the things kicked off and round up almost like a
Swack red zone. We should have checked that out. Meanwhile,
this past week you had the basketball media day, the

seventh and the eighth men and women's coaches and players
being highlighted. Before you know it, they'll be tipping that
thing off man on the hard wood. And so the
coaches gathered around and got a chance to highlight their
teams and key players and get excited for the upcoming

basketball season. And always we'll keep you up date on
scores and highlights and some brief game coverage and the
twenty five twenty six basketball campaign. Other news going on
throughout the Southward Western Athletic Conference or soccer and volleyball

getting kicked off into regular season play. The Panthers will
go to Houston to take on the Texas Southern Tigers
on the volleyball court be course Thursday in the h
Town area on the campus of Texas Southern. So it's
always a good thing whenever Texas Southern and Prairie You

get together in any sport. We will keep you up
to date on that and everything else that's going on.
Of course, we bring you weekly commentary with yeah I
said it, after further review the locker room, and we'll
be soon hearing from Miss Toneka Newman with above the

net volleyball report. All of that exclusively here at the
Open Mic Broadcast Network. You want to take the time
to acknowledge the Prairieview Athletic Club partner here with us
at the Open Mic to help us bring you our
audio coverage up Panthers football throughout the network all season.

Loan Horse, the Panthers will have a buy this week
and they'll be back in action against the Southern Jags
coming up on September I'm sorry, October the eighteenth for
their homecoming. Now, Southern has been really struggling out the
gate right now, early in the season. But if you know,
(04:35):
by God knows, Southern has been one of those slow rollers.
But once they do get started, before you know it,
they can rehab it. But the Panthers are in really
great position right now. They can secure the win against
the Jags. They can almost and I'm saying almost right there,
(04:55):
ticket at least for the West. Meanwhile, back on that
East side of things, we mentioned, Alabama State and Jackson
State will be doing battle. And unfortunately, as well as
those two programs are playing this season, only one can
represent the East. And that's you know, when people get
talking about maybe it's better if you dissolve the East
(05:19):
and the West division, just take the top two teams
and play more of a round robins schedule. It could work,
and I've been an advocate of, you know, playing everybody
within the division or the conference. It helps saving on scheduling,
and you could limit you know, how you do that
(05:39):
free of those couple of free games, whether you want
to play victim or be the one dishing out the punishment,
playing up or down however you feel best that you
can get your money games. But we'll see how all
of this will develop in the very near future. Jackson
State on a defending champion and Alabama State with the
(06:05):
newfound offense under the leadership of Andrew Body and is
definitely going to be one for witnessing. Other matchups for
this weekend will have Southern taken on Bethune Cookman in Orlando,
(06:25):
Florida or Daytona Beach, Florida. So that no, no, no, no, no,
they're going to be playing in Kansas City. The game's
gonna be played in Kansas City. I forgot about that.
So that's where the Wildcats and Wildcats has really really
been fined up points here of late. It's gonna be
interesting to see how that went unfolds. And of course

you'll have Mississippi Valley taking on the Alabama A and
M Bulldogs, and the nightcap will have Texas Southern taken
on Grambling State for Grambling's coming. And in other Panther
sports news, we know that the Panthers have hired new

baseball coach Daniel Doolan and the fall baseball season started
on October first, and some scrimmage games have been underway
and some more outer Outer League or scrimmage games, more
inn scrimmage games, I should have said. And they'll have
more mixing and mingland coming up, and you can catch

up with coach Doolan weekly here on the Open Mic
with our Diamond Talk series. We'll be talking baseball throughout
the fall campaign leading up to the spring twenty twenty
six campaign under new baseball coach Daniel Dolan. What to
