Speaker 3 (00:18):
You said?
Speaker 4 (00:21):
Was that?
Speaker 1 (00:21):
I remember that old that animation cartoon when Santah counseled
Christmas a little joker say, it'll be a blue Christmas
without you? You that sad, Brother Ben. You don't remember that.
You don't remember the Land of the Misfit Toys.
Speaker 2 (00:43):
I don't remember that.
Speaker 1 (00:45):
Wow, okay, you remember that, Brother White.
Speaker 3 (00:48):
Actually I don't either. I'm trying to.
Speaker 1 (00:50):
Oh my god, am I aging myself around here?
Speaker 3 (00:57):
Man? It was it was good.
Speaker 1 (00:58):
Little girl wrote of Santa Claul the letter, I said,
dear Santa, why are you canceling Christmas? It'll be a
blue Christmas? And that was the one with the heat Miser.
He's mister he Miser, he's mister's son, he's mister Energizer.
Speaker 3 (01:16):
He's mister one hundred.
Speaker 1 (01:18):
And what whatever I touch spots to Melton my clutch.
Speaker 2 (01:22):
Y'all remember that man like you? Yeah?
Speaker 1 (01:27):
Was it the Grint? No, it wasn't the grinch man.
It was he used to came on ABC. I can't
believe you guys.
Speaker 3 (01:34):
Maybe y'all did. Maybe y'all didn't have televisions.
Speaker 1 (01:37):
Yeah, that's.
Speaker 3 (01:42):
Radio.
Speaker 2 (01:43):
Maybe my parents are taking me.
Speaker 1 (01:48):
Okay then okay, okay, okay then and okay, well well
see each his own.
Speaker 3 (01:56):
Well you said, bro, what can we do to make
you happy? Man?
Speaker 2 (02:00):
You know, but uh, you could always replace them, honey.
Uh get a honey that I.
Speaker 1 (02:06):
Lived the huge bag of betterer honey, ladies and gentlemen.
Let me tell y'all what this young man did. I
wasn't gonna even bring it up. Since he brought it up. Uh,
Ben had been promising me some bitter honeys for almost
two years.
Speaker 3 (02:19):
Hunt Jack at right, right, No Jack, hold on Jack.
Speaker 1 (02:31):
First, First of all, love my little niece Mariah.
Speaker 3 (02:36):
Mariah got a hold to the first batch.
Speaker 1 (02:39):
Hey, Prince, I hate to tell you this, but Mariah
tried some bitter honeys and see liked the Okay, cool, cool,
no problem. I probably didn't need them anyway. And then
he finally comes by, you know, after the game, and
they came back. We had a little sigma fellowship.
Speaker 3 (02:56):
Been said, oh here you go. I'm like, oh what, oh,
thank you? Ben?
Speaker 1 (03:00):
Hey man, this is this This bag has been open,
this bag's been violated. This this boy just gave me
a huge bag of better honeys, and I'm like, okay,
thank you anyway, then comes fround you laughing Jack. You
munched off of him and it was the better honey
(03:20):
that was shared at the game and I got the
leftover us. But I do thank you, brother man. But
you know so, but.
Speaker 2 (03:27):
First of all, Jack, she's blind and you going to
help with him?
Speaker 1 (03:31):
How did how am I lying?
Speaker 2 (03:33):
Yeah? I had come to pay you before and I
had given him two bags that wouldn't even open, but
he forgot about that. So you know, this is what
greed people do when you bless him, you know, with
a open bag or cod egg. They just talked about you.
Speaker 1 (03:47):
But that's all right then, Ben, sir recall, I do
think you misunderstood. You had every intention of coming with
two bags building him, But you told me.
Speaker 3 (03:59):
Your daughter got home.
Speaker 1 (04:00):
No, no, no, bro, I brought you to Okay, We're
gonna move on talk about talk about this because I'm
not gonna argue about that. We don't talk about something else. Yeah,
we don't talk about something else. I'm not gonna walk
about them better honeys. But I thank you.
Speaker 5 (04:15):
I do.
Speaker 1 (04:15):
Thank you for the five better honeys you gave me.
Speaker 2 (04:18):
Yeah, I bet you had.
Speaker 1 (04:20):
Yeah, I just as a matter of fact, I just
knocked the last one off today. Thank you, Thank you.
Speaker 3 (04:27):
So is that is that gonna make you feel better?
Speaker 2 (04:31):
Now? Is it gonna make you feel better? You don't
have no more? No.
Speaker 1 (04:34):
But I'm just saying, well, you said you came in sad, Jack,
are you saying too?
Speaker 6 (04:41):
I'm not. I'm not sad.
Speaker 5 (04:43):
I just a little disappointed.
Speaker 3 (04:46):
What are you disappointed about?
Speaker 4 (04:49):
Just the fact that, uh, we had, we had many
chances to take control of that game.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
This past weegain. Okay, yeah, so this look of disappointment,
m chay, okay, chay. So I'm ready for you all
grades and analysis of what was all right.
Speaker 2 (05:12):
So I'm gonna go with the grade of the running
back position. I'm gonna give it a a B cluck.
We did finally get one running back out, and I
think this might have been his first time reaching pay dirt.
But I feel like we had we just bought some
(05:33):
brand new tires and we left a lot of threads
out there on the field. We just we didn't we
didn't go off roading with the tires. We just put
the momrall on there and we just kind of just
drove the church. We didn't really put a lot of
them out. So I'm gonna give us the wide receiver.
I'm giving them a sea club. There were a lot
(05:57):
of catches, there were touchdowns to seeds, but for whatever reason,
I'm almost at the point taking dang gloves off of
your work gloves. If you don't have gloves, I don't
put them on because we're still blocking a lot of
unnecessary resolves or be puss on it on the line.
I'm just gonna give it a combined offense, damn defense.
(06:20):
I'm gonna give it a B minus. I think the
line for the most part, they did what they wanted
to do when they wanted to do it, and I'll
leave it like that special teams. I'm gonna just give
it an incomplete I'm not gonna even take in consideration.
(06:43):
That's the young man, mister Billo. I actually me and Jack.
I don't know Jack paying attention, but uh we bumped
into the kicker and you know, I just you know,
he tried better up next time, and he just said appreciated,
and we went on by business. But I think I'm
gonna go with this next one and it will kind
(07:05):
of help you understand the line the running back to
who I receive when it comes to the QB and
I told you moving forward, I got minus QB and Coach,
I gave it a D minus. I wanted to give
it a F but because I believe in, you know,
(07:25):
passing the students at school, I gave it a D minus.
You know you can't sew four interceptions and giving them
the benefit of thatt. I've watched the game, Coach. I mean,
I'm telling you all, I think I'm joking. I watched
the game twice, so I'm gonna reduce the the interceptions
down to two. I give the benefit to the d
(07:48):
V and the defensive linemans for tipping the ball and
him the step them. But them other two they were
just uh, I don't even want to cut but they
they were just ad throws basics. I believe. I don't
want to get into that being the coach on the sideline,
(08:10):
because if I can see it on the sideline, you
got coaches on the side of the field, and one
of us is always talking about Benjamin. You think they
don't see it. Uh, there's this comedian right now named
Bubble Gup. They look like trash. That's all I can say.
They look like trash. Either somebody had their head down.
But if I can see some plays that we should
(08:31):
not have done.
Speaker 3 (08:34):
Like trash, I didn't say that.
Speaker 2 (08:37):
I'm seeing individuals. I'm not satting up.
Speaker 1 (08:39):
Oh well no, because when you say they look like trash,
I was trying to get some cleric who looked like trash.
Speaker 2 (08:43):
Yeah. Yeah, So I'm gonna say it like this. I said,
the quarterback and the coach, I'm gonna tie him to guest.
He said, it's his responsibility, So I'm just gonna hold
him to the far. So the coach, the quarterback, they
look like trash. He said, he's the head of the team,
so he had to take responsibility. You know, you're doing
(09:05):
uh two plus another, you know, potential two interceptions as board.
That's on him. You look at the situation where there
were some plays that that had been made, and you
know we were just uh uh if you go mono
or mono, we were just pounding them, counting pounding, and
(09:31):
you tend to like go away from those I just
don't understand that. So you go with some risk plays.
You might think it's good, but it's a risk play
and you go away from the play that was just pounding.
And it made me think of there was this guy
back in the day. You know, Prince, you're older, gentleman.
(09:51):
What's the running back there was? Uh it was his
name the Nigeria and nightmar Yes, sir a chorol when
you I didn't like that, man, three yards four yards, pounds,
just keep on pounds and just break the person's wheels.
And you know, it made me think of and I
don't want to compare games to games, but it made
(10:14):
me think of when Delaware State played North Carolina Central.
The difference in that game was they pounded the hell
out of the ball. They were like, man, you're gonna
have to stop me before I even go to something different,
where in our game we went with I'm gonna pound
your little I'm gonna jab you a little bit, I'm
a jabb you a little bit, and then I'm gonna
(10:36):
just do the Muhammad Alist for net and then I
get jabbed in the face and I'm like, oh man,
that's kind of hurt. And then I kind of jabb
a little bit. No I think when we see something
working man, just keep on doing that until the wheels
fall off on the cart, you know. But overall, I
would give us a C minors. We locked the game.
(10:57):
It is what it is. I left the feet. I
left the game hurt. I mean I don't know what
the player self. I believe that they felt hurt. I
left hurt. I even invited going and he was talking
too much. He'll never get invited to the game again
for a long time. But he was like, do you
take yourself too seriously? And I told him that's the
(11:20):
difference in my love of my school and apparently your
lack of love for your sea. Yeah, you know, when
you lose it out of hurt, if you were true,
if you all any it out hurt, and I still
feel hurt, right all right, Jack, I don't know what
you got to say.
Speaker 4 (11:39):
Well, we got a figgureback on what Ben was mentioning. Offense,
I give it a be minus defense.
Speaker 3 (11:50):
I give it be minus as well.
Speaker 4 (11:52):
Uh, special teams, I'll give it incomplete as well. I
mean we had to for before for the extra point,
the long field goal.
Speaker 1 (12:04):
You know, that's that's a lot to ask a lot
to ask for so that you.
Speaker 4 (12:11):
Yeah, incomplete, incomplete from my understanding, correct me if I'm wrong.
I think the the kick was long enough just wide left,
Is that right?
Speaker 3 (12:24):
Yeah?
Speaker 5 (12:25):
So right, So I just give a grade of incomplete.
Speaker 4 (12:32):
But looking at the penalties, we had five penalties for
forty five yards, not too bad, not too good. A
s U had four penalties for twenty five yards, so
they win the penalty battle. Uh, turnovers, we we have four.
(12:57):
A SU had one. Time of possession was pretty much
neck and neck the Mighty Panthers. We had the ball
for thirty minutes twenty nine seconds. The Hornets had the
ball twenty nine minutes thirty one seconds, so no one
really wanted to time of possession battle. I kind of
(13:22):
agreeing with Ben when he mentioned on the RPOs going
up the middle, you know, with either the running back
or the quarterback. If it's not broke, you know, you know,
don't fix it, so just keep going until they stop it.
But I understand that you need to kind of mix
(13:44):
it up and try to keep the defense on the heels.
Speaker 3 (13:48):
Well the heels is if you can't stop it, figure
it out. But go ahead.
Speaker 1 (13:52):
Trying to me to interrupt you, Yes, yeah, I agree.
Speaker 3 (13:54):
I agree with you there too. I agree with you
there too.
Speaker 4 (13:58):
As far as the Russian, you know, being he had
one hundred and eighteen yards Russian on twenty three carries,
Cameron Peters one hundred and six yards fourteen carries. I
wanted to see more, more carries for McDowell. He just
ended up with twenty nine yards on seven carries, So
(14:18):
I kind.
Speaker 3 (14:19):
Of want to see.
Speaker 1 (14:21):
More of the thunder lightning type.
Speaker 3 (14:26):
Running there.
Speaker 1 (14:27):
But yeah, so that's that's pretty much my assessment there.
Speaker 2 (14:32):
That's that thread that I'm staying was left after that, say.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
Three, I gave overall C minus overall performance. Yeah, anytime
you turn it over four times, I don't care if
they were chips, great plays being made, you cannot beat
quality teams turned the ball over four times. I don't
care how good draw defense, in my opinion played well
(14:59):
enough to win this game. They did their part. The
fact that you give up a fourteen point lead at home,
it's inexcusable.
Speaker 3 (15:10):
That's why I stuck with the C minus.
Speaker 2 (15:13):
Yeah, if you think about it, I mean, if someone
would have told you that first down eighteen to twenty six,
we had twenty six, third down, we were nine of sixteen.
We led in passings, which we're not supposed to. Let
people tell it a happening. We led in Russian and supposedly,
(15:38):
you know, if dads can say whatever they wanted. But
we were making five yards per rush. Yeah, I'm you know,
I promised the listeners to tell the truth. Matth was
not my best, but it's better now since my daughters
in school than it was when I was a common
But if you're making five yards per rush, I thought
five plus five teams, and if you only need to
(16:02):
make ten yours for every four, then I mean, for damn,
I just don't under think. No. Of course, you know,
I was looking at the passing. It said that we
were making you know about five one four also, But
the rip of the tip passes, the incomplete passes on
(16:25):
me relying on jack the boat bottle me to kick,
compared to me just handing them all to the running back.
I just would have just ran the box. I mean
the offensive line they were manhandling. Supposedly what some people
said was a good defensive line for them, they were
(16:46):
just manhandling. And I mean when I say manhandled, I'll
be laughing. When I don't know I think it's a guy,
uh Saturday, the guy who was a center for Indian
aplan coach. When he talked about pancake, I think whoever
the offense the line coach, he got to be proud.
It was so many pancakes. It was so many guys.
(17:08):
They were knocking them on their back and then they
fought fell on them. I was like, oh, man, that's
what he's talking about right here. I just would have
been falling laying at the end of the game. You
talking about, coach. I'm tired, Coach. I need a cold
bad before I get on the bus. I have just
kept on running along. That's kind of what I'm but
(17:29):
it is what it is. I mean, with the game
is over. The young men they played, they bought off. Again.
I don't want to cuss, but they played, they brought off.
I'm proud of them. But hey, I also heard some
promising things where the coach said, hey, you know, sometimes
(17:49):
these are those games that you learned from and so
we're gonna see if we' what did we learn from
this this particular game.
Speaker 1 (17:58):
Okay, here's something I want you draw to kick around
the can. Kick the can around on some of the
people are hollering and whispering that, hey, man, perview, it's
not as good as you thought they were. You played
the down grammar, the down Southern a down all point
(18:19):
and when you finally face some competition ie ut Real,
Red Valley and now out of the state, you can't
come through. What's your response to that?
Speaker 2 (18:30):
I think that's a crazy response. Again, listening to now,
this is why I might let out a couple of words.
So this is where I was listening to a compediot
on their broadcast. There is theying that we couldnot score
to their level. Our apparently our scoring average was fourteen
(18:52):
seventeen points. We scored twenty eight.
Speaker 1 (18:58):
Actually actually actually Campas averaged about twenty one points a
game prior to this game.
Speaker 7 (19:03):
But go ahead, okay, okay, so I got scer so
again hours I believe it was more teams and we
sing there theirs was everything, you know, almost thirty five
to forty, and we kept them below their average.
Speaker 2 (19:23):
So when someone wants to say that to me, allgated
this way. We played a good team, and I give
them the benefit of the death. They beat us about
three points. They played a good team that we might
be headed toward playing and they lost to them by
four points. So if this is quote unquote one of
(19:44):
your better teams, I feel like we matched up very well.
Speaker 3 (19:49):
Well what about to comeback?
Speaker 1 (19:51):
Well, well yeah you did, but we played the second
hand without our star quarterback. He got injured and we
still beat you, and I'm.
Speaker 2 (19:58):
Good with that. I think that's rather questions. I would
also say that you know what, we played with a
quarterback that they never thrown four touch I mean in again.
So I think the idea of can we improve I
believe the answers. Yet, if their quarterback is gone for
the season, would they be able to sustain? I think
(20:22):
their answer is no. And so for all of the
Nates theres it's one thing for sure. One team, I
hope you liten and I try not to give too
much luc board materials, but since y'all want to throw
nis at the wall, I'm gonna throwd one to Your
quarterback is not coming back this year, so we're gonna
see what this other guy. Unfortunately, before he was hurt,
(20:46):
he wasn't doing nothing and so he was being handed
to him. There was one play that our joking side
no fun, you know, in kinged he scrambled to the
left side, and if he was running away from Prince,
he would have got away from him. Well, because of
(21:07):
the athletics or athleticism of Jack, he tried to run
and he could not get away from Jack, and Jack
ended up actually caused him to thought about a lot
of bounds, which I think he pushed him and he
fell down. So I think the number was twenty five
to twenty three, seven and four. The athleticism for them,
(21:28):
they were enough to where they were able to, you know,
corral him to where he couldn't do anything quote unquote
before he went out of the game, which quote unquote
after watching the the game twice them coach, I think
I thought whenever there was a touchdown it should be reviewed.
(21:49):
He really looked like he's form with the balls. When
they're saying that he might have hurt his hand or
or whatever. I don't wish any ill on him, but whatever,
if use, they're going to pull out. He didn't come
back and and but he didn't play. We do four
interfess and I believe a for will cause us to do.
Speaker 4 (22:13):
When they say you played the downs grammar or down TSU, Well,
I didn't say it down TSU.
Speaker 1 (22:22):
They said a down Southern Well, you know the the narrative,
it's being that the blue bloods, especially from the West,
has always been grambling and the southern right.
Speaker 3 (22:32):
And with them having a down year.
Speaker 1 (22:35):
Uh, basically, for lack of a better word, previews, winning
was more like fool's gold than the real deal.
Speaker 2 (22:42):
Yeah, it was food gold in Las Vegas too, when
they hit a lot of grammar, it was food gold.
Speaker 1 (22:49):
I mean, I don't understand.
Speaker 4 (22:50):
I don't understand that they don't give us a mulligan
when we have a down year.
Speaker 5 (22:55):
Uh, yeah, they're not.
Speaker 4 (22:58):
I don't hear anybody saying you played a down a
down periview. I've never heard that before.
Speaker 2 (23:04):
Well that's axcuse that they always give. Yet that you know,
whenever we are, you know, at the bottom, we give
you know, But you don't hear praise. Well maybe you
hear some you know, the people who podcast, you know,
force them, so maybe they do it. But the more
common alumni praisee. You don't hear us talking about oh,
you know, they're only winning because they got kids from
lu the only winning because they got kids who dropped
(23:27):
out of Miami. They went to FAMI. You know, we
don't really worry about where your kids come from. You know,
we don't care about all that. We just stay who
on the schedule and we deal with whatever confequence. But
you that when we do good, it's always an excuse.
You know. Well, oh, A and M must have gave
you some money. That's why. Well you know what if
(23:48):
that makes you feel good? Day, Yeah, we got some
new money. So I guess it's a new aspecting now.
So what happened? Your money got turned off? Your farm
base got turned off? Is that why you you lose? It?
Is that why you sell any one? Is there why?
Speaker 3 (24:02):
You know?
Speaker 2 (24:02):
So? I get tired out of them?
Speaker 5 (24:04):
You know?
Speaker 1 (24:07):
Okay, Well, if your TV, let me ask y'all this,
Let me ask all this, and this is probably gonna
be a short, sweet answer reply for both of them.
Speaker 3 (24:18):
Do you believe Prairie View.
Speaker 1 (24:21):
Has enough in the tank to win these remaining games
and represent the West in the championship?
Speaker 2 (24:30):
Yes?
Speaker 3 (24:31):
Yes?
Speaker 1 (24:33):
Okay, what if anything if your Prairieview Okay, being you
like to be the coach and scout and scheme, what's
the message you tell your team right now?
Speaker 2 (24:48):
Well, one, I have not looked at I have not
thoroughly looked at the Alabama and Dames. I kind of
briefly saw that their defense is really kind of lacking.
They have not a lot of speeds. Their offenses a
little more advanced than the defense. But putting that aside,
I would just say, hey, man, you know what I think. Again,
(25:10):
this is where I do, like you know, the coach
of Pev he said, losing out of her losing automating.
When I come back on the seat and knock somebody, losing,
automake me run hard. And so I did enjoyed the
post the post game interview, he said that he it happened.
(25:35):
He Didigman and Alex said, you know, they overlooked anybody.
They just got beat and so you know, now they
got to go back to the drawing boards. There were
some good things that we did. There are some bad
things that we did, but he did they If he
said that, I didn't hear it. So I'm gonna put
this little point. There are some good things that he
died as a coach, and it's some damn bad things
(25:56):
that he did as a coach out So so he's
he has to take ownership off. But yeah, put this
game behind it. You know that you can play with
them and uh, next next game up, we did the
Alabama in it some be colax from what I was.
Speaker 4 (26:14):
Go mm hmmm, bro White, Yeah, I would say, hey,
have a short memory. We have a short memory.
Speaker 5 (26:22):
We lost.
Speaker 4 (26:25):
Let's let's build on what we did good and work
on what we did bad.
Speaker 5 (26:30):
Learn from it.
Speaker 4 (26:32):
Uh, learn how when we do have a lead, you know,
to to keep our foot on the gas.
Speaker 3 (26:41):
No mercy attitude.
Speaker 5 (26:44):
Yeah exactly.
Speaker 4 (26:45):
And uh we got to win that time possession battle
when we when we.
Speaker 1 (26:50):
Will check we did technically yeah, thirty seconds. So yeah,
I'm just saying, you know, we did win it.
Speaker 4 (27:00):
Yeah the family. Let's let's win the towns as some family.
And let's not play down to the level of competition. Uh,
let's finish strong with these last three games.
Speaker 1 (27:14):
Well, that's what concerns me, not necessarily playing down.
Speaker 3 (27:20):
I think the.
Speaker 1 (27:20):
Talent is there. I'm still got a big question mark
for us. I'm concerned about overall quarterback playing. But you've
gone this far and do what you gotta do. The
run game is effect of which magnifies when you don't
complete the few tasks attempts that you do, especially when
guys are open and you're missing your target, not barely missing,
(27:44):
but their badnesses, you know what I mean.
Speaker 3 (27:47):
That's a concern.
Speaker 1 (27:49):
Playing in a more high state pressure type game as
you had last week. Now you do go to Alabama
and fortunate or I don't know if it's a good
thing or bad thing.
Speaker 3 (28:01):
Your last two games are at home, you know, and
you have.
Speaker 1 (28:04):
The likes of Prime Luff and Mississippi Valley, uh not
sex the eye candy on the schedule. Not really sure
if the fan base gonna have interests on to show
up and support, which is you know, we're gonna address
it in a minute here, but yeah, yeah, you can
(28:25):
cough all you won't. But it is what it is,
because it's it's something bigger than what we maybe don't
want to address, not even aware to address of what's
at State when you look at the lack of attendance
now being you know, narratives a man, let's not focus
(28:49):
on that. Let's we won't, but let's put it in
the eyes in the perspective of coach Jackson. Coach Jackson
comes from a D two program that was used to
winning and used to people showing up and supporting the game.
Speaker 3 (29:07):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (29:08):
He has everything that he asks for us, for us
coaching staff. He got the lineup with the president, the
a D. He's got everything. But the missing element is
the fan participation, inspiration.
Speaker 3 (29:25):
And just helping.
Speaker 1 (29:26):
Because whether you want to accept it acknowledge or not,
an intense home based crowd is always good for a
couple of extra penalty yards where it's hard for the
team to communicate us on the road, can help wield
the team to victory.
Speaker 3 (29:45):
I'm not saying that.
Speaker 1 (29:47):
Well, what I'm saying is home feel advantage should be
a home feel advantage.
Speaker 3 (29:54):
You know.
Speaker 1 (29:55):
That's just and I'll take that to mcgrave. That's got
a factor. But if you coach Jackson, you're doing everything
within your power and you're getting the lack of.
Speaker 3 (30:05):
Participation for whatever the reason is.
Speaker 1 (30:08):
When your contract is over, do you stay yere or
do you move on to someone who might quote unquote
appreciate you.
Speaker 3 (30:17):
And your efforts a little better?
Speaker 2 (30:23):
Is that question?
Speaker 3 (30:24):
Yes?
Speaker 2 (30:24):
It is okay because it was a lot. You know,
it was a lot in it, so I try to
tackle it as best a lot. I would just say,
you know, right now, I think jack Au was talking.
I was thinking that we just have to learn, and
it's one of these things I don't really like. Other
(30:46):
than talking about the attendance, I think we're gonna have
to learn how to have a killer incident. You know,
since I've been in praiseew, I don't recall ever has
a coach run to score up on somebody. And I'm
not saying that we need to run the score score up,
but I think we need to have a more killer instinct. Again,
(31:08):
when I think of just this past weekend, it's twenty
one that sets, there were opportunities for us to have
a killer instinct, and for whatever reason, we chose to
go hold on.
Speaker 1 (31:24):
I hate to interrupt you being well, we're not talking
about that right now. We talking about that. We're talking
about uh huh.
Speaker 2 (31:34):
We're talking about winning. And the point I was making
is I was trying to finish these last three games.
I think we need to demonstrate. So this is where
I was headed at the Alabama and m James the
last two games at home. I think we need to
work on the killer instincts. And the reason I'm saying
(31:55):
that trying to tie together is because in previous situations,
which it was not under this coaching death but on
the previous previous situation, we played a uh archestas Palm Blood,
we played of Mississippi Valley, and because we just kind
of knew we were going to the championship game, we
(32:15):
end up getting losing. And so with this particular pool
that I'm hoping we have a more killer anything to
where we are going to have two games at home,
we win those games convincing, so where when we do
go to where we're choosing to go to, we'll already
(32:36):
be in that killer anything mode. That's the point I
was trying to make.
Speaker 1 (32:39):
Okay, but that's not what I was asking you a question.
If you're coach Jackson and all the effort and the
grind that you're putting in, you're putting out a winning product,
and you're not getting the fan support that that's entitled,
not entitled, but deserving. If you're coach Jackson, when you're
a contract, when you fulfilled your co at Prarieview and
(33:02):
the attendance has not improved, if you're coach Jackson, do
you move on to greater pastors?
Speaker 3 (33:08):
That was the question.
Speaker 2 (33:10):
Yeah, that actually I wrote him down. That was your
third question. So the third question going to that one,
I think that's a decision that he's gonna have to make.
And I also think that that's a decision because I
choose not to really want to talk about it.
Speaker 3 (33:22):
That's you choose not to talk about That's the.
Speaker 2 (33:25):
That's the third question that you posed, but you also
posed two questions before that. That's when I had to
write him down. But going to the third question, that's
the decision that he's gonna have to make. And then
also the alumni, they're gonna have to make a decision.
Do you complain about winning when you don't show up
or do you try to figure out what is it
that I need to do better to be more uh
(33:48):
supportive to the university, supportive to the football teams. Because
as I've heard and when it well, as I've heard
reading the site and so for there are people that
are saying, yeah, you know, what all y'all are talking
about is being supported to the football team. But your
ass ain't being supported to the soccer team. Your ass
(34:10):
ain't being supported to the baseball team. So the support
is not toward one sport. It should be supported toward
all of the sports. And so that's going to be
a decision, just like other coaches previously have made either
they did it on their own, they chose to lead
uh via I believe the volleyball coach via the soccer
(34:30):
the soccer previous soccer coacht. That is a decision that
you have to make. Now. My point would be, are
they making these decisions because of quote unquote the fan
base not showing up? Or are they making decisions because
they got paid more money. That's not for me to
worry about what you get paid here or there, But
I think that's a decision that the coach will have to.
Speaker 1 (34:51):
Okay, okay, thank you for that comment. To jack let
me ask you the same question, sir or yeah, did
you have a question or you will have it?
Speaker 5 (34:59):
I have it.
Speaker 3 (35:00):
Yeah.
Speaker 4 (35:00):
I think as far as coach Jackson, I'm thinking that
it's and hopefully it's more important about the young men
that he brings in, helping them grow to be UH
productive citizens, you know, on and off the field. I'm
hoping that that's more important and the recruiting is more
(35:23):
important than.
Speaker 5 (35:24):
The attendant that way, attendant. I know it's.
Speaker 4 (35:30):
A I know it's a bullet point on probably his list,
but I'm I'm hoping that attendance isn't number one. I'm
hoping number one is his student athletes, his staff, you know,
and just helping them grow to be productive young.
Speaker 2 (35:51):
On and off the field.
Speaker 1 (35:52):
We we we we addressed that. And and let me
rephrase the question where it makes sense, because this is
really a yes or no if the truth be told,
and I'll say it again real slow, If coach Jackson
continues to have the success that he's having on the
(36:13):
field and in the classroom with the same attendance lack
of participation is shown up when his contract has come
to an end, does he resign? If you're him, do
you resign from this same deal or do you move
on and take your talents as what the boy lebron
(36:36):
say to another location. That's what I'm asking you. I
know I heard all the other stuff. If you're in
his shoes and you know what it takes and all
that you're going through to put this all out there
on the table, and then it appears it appears that
it's going unappreciated, do you, regardless what the money is,
(37:00):
do you stay where you feel undappreciated or.
Speaker 3 (37:03):
Do you move on down the road.
Speaker 4 (37:07):
So you think he feels underappreciated, because of the tend Well, yes, deess,
don't you think?
Speaker 1 (37:17):
Okay, it is important. And if that's the case, why
don't we just play on the road every weekend, play
at neutral sites. If home support doesn't matter, m why
have a home game?
Speaker 3 (37:34):
Yeah? I'm thinking.
Speaker 4 (37:36):
Uh, like I said, his student athletes we got we
know about the student athletes.
Speaker 3 (37:43):
We know about the student athletes with the student athletes are.
Speaker 1 (37:46):
On point, the administrative support is on point, his money
is on point.
Speaker 3 (37:53):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (37:54):
But when so, if that's the case, why don't you
just close off the stadium and just play the game.
Speaker 3 (37:59):
If ain't nobody gonna show up? Okay, so I'll get
four I know, three out of four.
Speaker 5 (38:07):
Like you said, three out of four is on point.
Speaker 1 (38:09):
So then so then what I'm hearing from both of
you guys, if you all were in his position, you
wouldn't care.
Speaker 3 (38:15):
About fans not coming. You're just gonna stay and show
up and keep on doing what you're doing.
Speaker 4 (38:19):
I would I would say no, I mean, every everything
is not peaches and creating. I mean you're always gonna
have a challenge, and that's gonna be the challenge currently
at Prayer View, that's gonna be the challenge. I mean,
like you said, three out of four are on point.
So now the challenge is getting getting butts in.
Speaker 5 (38:41):
The in the chairs.
Speaker 1 (38:42):
That okay, Okay, we're gonna move on. Let's go with
our pics and and go our picts from last week,
and let's make our picture this week.
Speaker 3 (38:49):
Please.
Speaker 4 (38:51):
Okay, let's see here. Last week, it was a little
tough week for for all of us.
Speaker 5 (39:00):
There were six games, and it looks like.
Speaker 3 (39:06):
Our current total, Brother Jack is in the lead with.
Speaker 4 (39:11):
Fifty six correct picks in twelve fifty six and twelve.
We have brother Prince coming in at second with a
total of fifty five correct picks fifty five and thirteen
and being swung for defenses and struck out.
Speaker 3 (39:33):
And you have a.
Speaker 1 (39:35):
Sound to fix this week. That's all right there, he's.
Speaker 4 (39:42):
Swung up for the sense of the miss and he's
coming coming on the tail end at fifty one in eighteen.
Speaker 1 (39:50):
Okay, this is a winning percentage though, yes it is,
it is, But yeah, I mean.
Speaker 4 (40:00):
He's gonna keep swinging for the fences every week. Every
week he got too. Now it's a lot of ground and.
Speaker 3 (40:08):
We're going into.
Speaker 4 (40:09):
Going into week eleven, our first uh here I'm showing
the week eleven November. That's why, because week zero, I
guess okay, wow, that's zero, yes, sir.
Speaker 3 (40:25):
So.
Speaker 4 (40:25):
Our first matchup, we have Texas Southern at Alabama State.
Speaker 3 (40:33):
Did not speak all at once.
Speaker 1 (40:35):
Uh, I'll take Alabama State at home.
Speaker 2 (40:39):
Okay, I'll take Alabama State.
Speaker 3 (40:45):
A shoot across the board. Okay, all right.
Speaker 4 (40:53):
Next matchup, we have Florida A and M on the
road visiting Arkansas Pine Blood.
Speaker 1 (41:01):
I'll take the Golden Lions.
Speaker 2 (41:09):
I'm gonna take family.
Speaker 5 (41:11):
Okay, I'm black.
Speaker 1 (41:15):
It's been on a little streak, but I'm gonna take
family as well.
Speaker 3 (41:21):
Okay, all right.
Speaker 4 (41:26):
Next we have the Thune Cookman at Grambling H five
or four Grambling six and three.
Speaker 1 (41:41):
Uh huh, go ahead, Yeah, I'm I'm taking with Thoon
on that even though the Thoon is hot. But yeah,
Grambling they they pulled a rabbit.
Speaker 3 (41:51):
Out their backside last week. But I'm gonna take my.
Speaker 1 (41:53):
Thoone on the road. Okay, then who okay?
Speaker 5 (42:01):
Okay, so we then took me across the board.
Speaker 3 (42:06):
All right.
Speaker 4 (42:07):
Next matchup, we have Jackson State at Mississippi Valley State.
Speaker 3 (42:12):
I will not take Valley.
Speaker 4 (42:17):
J s Hu across the board unless ben ben I said,
Jackson State, okay, just making sure you welcome, and one
of uh.
Speaker 3 (42:29):
Being his favorite matchups.
Speaker 4 (42:30):
Here, we got Southern all Corn story, all Corn.
Speaker 3 (42:35):
State, Yeah, take a long Corn all day.
Speaker 5 (42:38):
Yeah, okay, all Corn for me as well.
Speaker 2 (42:44):
All right, yeah, uh I'm gonna twitch mine. I'm taking
McNair in.
Speaker 3 (42:59):
Southern ol Okay, yeah.
Speaker 2 (43:02):
I'm picking him coming back home.
Speaker 6 (43:04):
You okay, Okay, okay, you'll give you give you that one.
Any other ones you're trying to change, Yeah.
Speaker 2 (43:15):
Yeah, because I seem like y'all just don't.
Speaker 3 (43:16):
Just we're looking at it.
Speaker 1 (43:20):
We're all looking at the same matchups.
Speaker 2 (43:24):
Uh uh. I think I'm good with it.
Speaker 1 (43:27):
If you just want to pick the opposite of what
we picked this, I'm picking up who I picked.
Speaker 3 (43:33):
Think, well, you you what we're picking who we picked?
Why you criticized enough for who we picked?
Speaker 2 (43:38):
So so Jack, if you don't mind going back, sir,
So we're doing Alabama State across the board. Mm hmm,
Sam you right right, Pristrick Pine Bluff and we're going
to go put th cuiping across the board. Yes, And
Jackson said, okay, all right, do you want do you
want Grandma, I would say nobody, but no, well okay,
(44:04):
and then uh, jsu Mississippi you wan Mississippi Valley? Oh no,
I did not.
Speaker 1 (44:10):
Okay, all right, all right here we are the martis.
Speaker 2 (44:14):
Our pitch, right, I'm taking on praise in the last game.
Speaker 3 (44:24):
Okay, Well, I'm trying to get there.
Speaker 4 (44:26):
And uh the key matchup for the weekend, we have
the prestigious Prairie A and M Panthers on the road
visiting Alabama A and M in Huntsville, Alabama.
Speaker 3 (44:42):
I will take the Panthers, please.
Speaker 5 (44:46):
Righty Panthers across the board.
Speaker 2 (44:48):
What's gonna be.
Speaker 1 (44:51):
Perview more and a M mess. Oh, I'm saying Prayview
twenty eight Alabama A and M fourteen. Okay, I take
(45:15):
that back. Alabama ad them ten.
Speaker 2 (45:19):
Mmm?
Speaker 3 (45:22):
Okay being what you say, I don't know, but I'm.
Speaker 2 (45:30):
Saying that Prayview will BLUs the thirty number two seventeen,
So thirty to seventy.
Speaker 3 (45:38):
Seen, okay, thirty seventeen Jack, Okay, you want some of
the smoke.
Speaker 4 (45:51):
Alabama State beat them fifty six to thirteen. Beat Alabama
and M. Oh, so I'm going to say we one
up Alabama State. So I say fifty seven to fourteen.
Speaker 3 (46:11):
You know what you said? Eleveny one? You said eleveny one?
Why not? Yeah? Go to go ahead home?
Speaker 2 (46:16):
Bro?
Speaker 3 (46:17):
Who who you ready?
Speaker 2 (46:21):
Yeah? Just the second, I don't know? You know? That was?
That was a classic game.
Speaker 3 (46:28):
Then stop trying to risk your line, brother man, Oh no.
Speaker 2 (46:33):
You're not already sparked my already?
Speaker 1 (46:35):
Yeah it was?
Speaker 4 (46:36):
That was That was a classic rivalry, classic robbery.
Speaker 3 (46:40):
Did I smark your attention?
Speaker 2 (46:42):
I don't worry about it with the Yeah, you have
to serious the questions which you don't want to focus
on one other questions.
Speaker 3 (46:54):
But well, just like you don't want to talk about
the issue, I know you didn't you talk at it.
Speaker 1 (47:02):
You went all around the Marlberry bush. But finish your
own jack? What else you got?
Speaker 3 (47:05):
Jack? That's that's?
Speaker 2 (47:08):
That was it?
Speaker 3 (47:09):
Okay?
Speaker 1 (47:11):
Well, now sir, you got some clothes and thoughts and
comments you want to share, We'll start off with you, brother,
then go ahead.
Speaker 2 (47:18):
You know, I heard a story and the story was basically, uh, well,
I heard a story and the story was basically saying
that if you don't want to be here, we appreciate,
you know, those who come, but if the heel is
(47:39):
not where you know you see yourself, then Ley, you
haven't been you want to be the first person there.
You others who have left the school that don't go
on when you eat and I've passed away, it's gonna
go on. The argument is gonna go on about why
this and why did But at a certain point you
(48:03):
have an option to make and you can be like
some others in the past who did the behind closed doors,
went to the grade yard and signed a contract, you know,
when wasn't nobody paying attention. You can be like that,
but you have an option. One brother said, you know
you can do it because of a certain reason. I
(48:24):
kind of more agree with him. Others are, you know,
complaining for the reason that they complain. I choose not
to complain with them. But ultimately, the school is going
to exist if we win or if we were lost
and we've lost four years not winning the game and
(48:45):
the school went on, and I believe it's gonna go on.
If we win, the celebration rolls, if we win another
Black Championship or the Visional Championship, the game or the
school is gonna go on. So that's a decision that
those individuals and those typemakers have to make themselves when
they look themselves in there, Jack, I don't have none episode.
Speaker 4 (49:09):
Yeah, well my clothing thoughts and comments are Hey, fellas,
we fought a good, a good fight to get the issue.
Speaker 5 (49:18):
We had our.
Speaker 4 (49:19):
Opportunities, and we can't cry over spilled milk. Let's uh,
let's move forward, don't look back. Let's build on what
we what we did good to learn from from.
Speaker 5 (49:31):
Our mistakes, and let's go kick some some butt in Alabama.
Speaker 3 (49:37):
Some doggie, but.
Speaker 2 (49:42):
Jack, that sure has down like the Mekini stuf right there.
Let's go kick some butt.
Speaker 3 (49:49):
But you know, I didn't want to f c C.
I didn't want the FCC on this. Well, we ain't
worried about CC. We didn't wear about man.
Speaker 2 (49:59):
Standing Tonio Burrito in your Oh.
Speaker 3 (50:02):
My god, there you go.
Speaker 1 (50:04):
I thought you should your lord your closing comments.
Speaker 5 (50:06):
I thought you was quiet, Jack, you dritan mkink. Come on, Okay,
let's go, let's go kick some.
Speaker 3 (50:16):
Ass in Alabama.
Speaker 1 (50:20):
He gas light at you just then, but he fear
me and you ain't working for slood Nickel.
Speaker 2 (50:26):
Now he's like it sound like casting in.
Speaker 1 (50:29):
I mean, let mean, was that mass gas was that
game look from your chance, Jack, go and do what?
Speaker 3 (50:35):
Jack? What did you just say?
Speaker 5 (50:39):
We're gonna go kick some assy?
Speaker 3 (50:46):
More time for the founder? Jack on time down to
go do what?
Speaker 1 (50:49):
John?
Speaker 4 (50:51):
Just go to Alabama and kick some ass.
Speaker 3 (50:53):
Oh it is.
Speaker 2 (50:57):
I want to throw out one thing. I know. Listen
because you said about the family. Do you know the
kid that plays for a Shadow Creek? His name is
Alan and Taylor.
Speaker 3 (51:10):
Well, daddy gotta be Fred.
Speaker 1 (51:16):
Said, and Taylor on the tackle?
Speaker 2 (51:19):
I would what did he did you.
Speaker 3 (51:24):
There's one of them.
Speaker 2 (51:30):
I would hope he did not.
Speaker 1 (51:32):
Yeah, yeah, if not, we got to keep a tab
on that young man there. Man, you know, you know,
even be willing to give him some legacy status.
Speaker 5 (51:42):
What you think?
Speaker 2 (51:44):
I know, no money, I said, if he I mean,
this is off the record.
Speaker 3 (51:48):
I said, if he plays, well, he's off the record.
Better hush, then don't hush.
Speaker 2 (51:53):
If he plays, you gotta go over the birthday.
Speaker 3 (51:56):
I know that's right. I know that's right. Better, I
know that's right.
Speaker 1 (52:03):
He know, he know he know one third of the founders,
he's no one third of them.
Speaker 3 (52:07):
He he almost home, he almost home.
Speaker 1 (52:11):
