Speaker 1 (00:02):
And welcome, Welcome, welcome back to the locker room. It
is the guru coach Van fed Away and you're truly
doctor Mike Prince had Man, old man, old man. I
couldn't wait till this daycare coach. How were you today,
my friend?
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Well, I'm still trying to determine that crazy you know,
it goes back to, uh, you know when when you
were little, Mama used to tell you, uh, son, don't
she's in the kitchen cooking and and and you know
you're being a you know, just being a knuckle head
in there and uh now, now whatever you do, don't
touch that pot now it's hot, Okay, don't touch it.
(00:44):
And then we trying to touch it anyway. And so
you know that's just about high I feel this morning
that my heart. Yeah I am, yes, yeah, I was
just being hard headed. I didn't listen to Mama and
uh you know, so for the results for end and
I just want to congratulate the panthers and I want
(01:06):
to congratulate you. You had an awesome weekend, sir.
Speaker 1 (01:08):
Well, yes, sir, a lovely weekend it was. I celebrated
my thirty fourth wedding anniversary, Yes, sir, on the ninth.
Speaker 3 (01:18):
On the eighth, I got an early gift.
Speaker 1 (01:21):
Oh man, we still we still had to run run
them boots through the cleanest coach all that doggie poop man,
and we was kicking around up.
Speaker 3 (01:31):
There in Huntsville. But nevertheless, it's all good. But I
was a little nervous, coach. I got it, Mett. No,
it was five or nothing, No, five or three five three?
Speaker 2 (01:45):
Now it was five nothing. It was five nothing. Yeh.
But but let me tell you something. At no time
the towns even uh, they didn't have to even break stride, sir.
Speaker 3 (01:57):
The Panthers put.
Speaker 2 (01:58):
Together for a great water. And I tell you now,
when when you've been beat the way you'll beat us,
there's nothing you can just say but congratulations, sir. Well
thanks because they beat us from amazing grade to a
sweet our press. They so they did, sir. Well, I
(02:22):
know what the grades more than likely is gonna be
like when we get to them.
Speaker 1 (02:26):
Let us get into this, just these grades, and I'm
still covered up short. But you know, as far as
our concerned, I didn't want the season, but go ahead
on coaching the ship.
Speaker 3 (02:37):
Here what we got, man, yes, sir, yes, sir, all.
Speaker 2 (02:39):
Right, We're gonna start off with Arkansas Pine Bluff and
Florida A and them. Florida A and them won that
game thirty one twenty eight, and I'm gonna give fam
you an A. Arkansas Pine Bluff is gonna have to
take a C on this one.
Speaker 1 (02:55):
Well, I don't know about a C. I thought it
was gonna be a good game, was competitive. I just
thought Pine Luff might have been able to pull it out.
Speaker 3 (03:03):
But I was wrong.
Speaker 1 (03:05):
I do agree with you, Sam, you're getting an AD
and believe it or not, I gave a B plus
uh to uh pime Bluff, Yes, sir, I sure did.
Speaker 2 (03:15):
Okay, Okay, you're feeling very generous. I wonder why very generous.
Speaker 3 (03:19):
Because we got them coming up this week.
Speaker 2 (03:23):
Then uh next up, sir. It was uh, you know
a lot of people thought that, uh, this is gonna
be upset weekend. Jackson State went down in Mississippi Valley
and they won that game forty two, uh to three.
I'm gonna give Jackson State in A plus Mississippi Valley.
I'll never fail them. They'll get a C minus.
Speaker 3 (03:43):
Who thought that was gonna be at caet weekend?
Speaker 2 (03:47):
People thought it might be a trap game.
Speaker 1 (03:50):
They need to leave that coin whisky alone, coach, because
that that wasn't remotely happened. I'm rolling a plus for
Jackson State because of the dominance on the road.
Speaker 3 (04:03):
I'm with you C minus D.
Speaker 1 (04:08):
Plus with val I give him C minus. It looks
better on paper for Valle it's you know, they they trying, though,
they trying. They better not come to life on November
twenty second though. That's all I'm saying.
Speaker 2 (04:21):
Right right that and and that was a good one.
That was a good all right. Then we had all
Corn State and Southern. Oh my goodness. All Corn State
won that game thirty five to seventeen. I'm gonna give
all Corn State an A for finally putting.
Speaker 3 (04:41):
Together uh the game, and Southern.
Speaker 2 (04:43):
God to take a D sir, Yeah, I'm with you
with All Corn.
Speaker 3 (04:48):
The A is definitely together.
Speaker 1 (04:52):
Someone was thinking that Southern might have a little energy
because of McNair facing against all Corn, but I was
talking to someone. I can't remember what it was. I
don't recall seeing Southern this bad coach. Yes, yes, I
really don't. I'm going to give them a D minus.
(05:15):
But just because the whole season, really, man, it's just
really been awful, awful, and I don't know what and
how they're going to correct that thing because everybody's so
impatient these days. And we'll talk about that. It's gonna
be part of my little topic for today.
Speaker 3 (05:33):
But we went. Yeah, it's just rough on the bluff.
Speaker 2 (05:35):
For real, right right? All right? Next up Alabama State
in Texas Southern. Alabama State won that game, boarded two
to twenty four. Alabama State blessed their muscles again and
they'll get an a pluff.
Speaker 1 (05:51):
Yes, sirs, Texas Southern of seed mm hmmm, I'm giving
Alabama State with a plus. The they did the Texas
two step and own Texas right now, so they're the
they're the temporary governor of Texas until we could resurrect
that thing next season.
Speaker 3 (06:11):
Uh, TUXA Southern.
Speaker 1 (06:13):
I'm I'm a little disappointed in I didn't think they
were going to win this past week, but I was
looking for a better performance, you know, for them to
They were on the heels of the Panthers and they're
still looking to have a winning season this year under
coach Dishmond.
Speaker 3 (06:31):
But I came a d coach, I really did.
Speaker 1 (06:33):
I was I was really disappointed in that performance.
Speaker 2 (06:38):
I and then uh uh the game that gave us
a black eye, Yes, patuone Cookman at Gramla State. Uh,
Gramna State won the game thirty three. On the field,
I'm gonna give Grammling and a uh get a beat,
(07:02):
but off the field they.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Both get an l well because of the distractions, I'll choose.
Speaker 3 (07:12):
I gave both the U s.
Speaker 1 (07:16):
I didn't even you know what I mean, I mean,
we we we we were all about competition, and that's
what it's gonna always be about. And I'm even to
the point where you protect your teammates, but not to
the point to where there seemed like there was not
an ounce of humanity and on in the whole scene.
Speaker 3 (07:37):
Man, it was. It was horrible. It was horrible, you know.
Speaker 1 (07:41):
And and so uh and I'm not using as a copy,
but I gave both s coach, because it doesn't even,
it doesn't even you.
Speaker 3 (07:49):
Know, we already it is hard enough for us. And
I know in the moment, as.
Speaker 1 (07:55):
A competitor, you're not thinking about the big picture. But
at some point there's gotta be something called control. Coach,
gotta be something, and they you can I can't find
our scores, but you show. Let us cut a scene.
We can hit that front front of uh segment of
the sports shows, can't we Yes.
Speaker 2 (08:15):
You can, Yes we can? Yes man. So that that
that's that was a black eye for all of us.
Speaker 3 (08:22):
Uh.
Speaker 2 (08:22):
Then and now the last, but not least, the game
that I really didn't want to talk about this morning. Uh,
your Purview Panthers came to Hospital, Alabama and they just
took control of not only my bulldogs, they just owned
the city.
Speaker 3 (08:40):
Well, I talked to perfecting Hill coach, the perfecting Hill man.
I know you're talking about that he'll stuff at Hunt's Hill,
but I didn't mean to interrupt you. Sure, pleave should
get my one. Let's continue on, continue on.
Speaker 2 (08:54):
But your captain's gave Ben and they turned my bulldogs
every which way for.
Speaker 3 (09:00):
Lois your Panthers.
Speaker 2 (09:02):
I won that game four to eight to five. I'm
gonna give your your your your pathers a fluff.
Speaker 3 (09:10):
Pluff plus and okay more dollars.
Speaker 2 (09:12):
Gonna have to take a dal on this and son.
Uh but uh, your your pathers get the highest grade
that they have ever invented. Well, look, and you're gonna
really cringe when I said I gave him a minus.
Speaker 1 (09:26):
Man.
Speaker 3 (09:27):
Look, I'm telling you what.
Speaker 1 (09:29):
I got my reason, coach, I got it took up
too long to get started. It took him too long
to get started, coach, and hand me over his sweat,
and I'm like, man, y'all bet not lit. I don't
want to have to hear this man come this session.
Y'all got it over his sweating. Man, I'm going like,
you know, and thanks to w J A B for
allowing us to signal cast the game ninety point nine
(09:52):
FM general manager Elvin Jenkins, Michael morn and this time flow.
Speaker 3 (10:00):
There was a beautiful thing.
Speaker 1 (10:02):
Man, The hospitality was there, and I felt almost bad, Coach,
I really did that.
Speaker 3 (10:09):
How nice you all were to us at open mic
to carry that stream and we just thumped you, man,
We just look, we thumped you.
Speaker 1 (10:19):
So I did give the A minus ford have met
me sweat and we still had a missed forty your
field goal, coach.
Speaker 2 (10:26):
Yeah, but man, that was one of the most dominant games.
Speaker 3 (10:30):
Oh, no doubt about it. I was real proud. I
was real proud of the Southern dominance right twenty forty three.
But I was like, wait a minute, man, this and
they're doing it on the road coach.
Speaker 2 (10:41):
Yes, yes, Now, I don't want.
Speaker 3 (10:43):
To come to the house and watch us play, watch
us do our thing somewhere else.
Speaker 2 (10:48):
Right right, I promise you that, and and and you
even had a few fans over there on the visitor side. Yes, sure,
it was just it was just beautiful football to watch.
I have not uh. Well, that's the worst uh performance
that I've seen out of my Bulldogs at home in years.
And they going back to uh when he brought brought
(11:11):
the Jackson State Tigers in for homecoming. But I was
not there to witness that uh because I always be
a uh. That will always be uh in the back
of my mind because I unfortunately I was attendant the
funeral one of my former players, so that I always
(11:32):
had that memory etched in my mind. So I did
not witness personally witness that. I went back and watched
the game. But for me to just witness the game
that that's the that's the worst drubbing that I've seen. Well,
Lewis crew sad when we we we we, I'm gonna
give you my grade that I'm gonna give.
Speaker 3 (11:51):
You this little shame turn we used to use for
sound pounding.
Speaker 2 (11:57):
Uh. I minus coach, because uh that that that they
were flat.
Speaker 3 (12:02):
And then I tell you had a lot of injuries,
but you know that's part of the game. But they
were flat.
Speaker 1 (12:07):
Now, we had an old saying coach back in the
day that, uh, if you if you beat a guy
pretty convincedly and you did it on his home turf
surround us, he would tell him, Hey, it's a new
landlord to tell you got thirty days to get out.
(12:28):
So I didn't want to serve notice, you know, I
don't want to hear no more hell stuff coming out
of here for the remaining of the seasons, sir, that
you are bumped right now. You can't be killed. You
are bumped because my panthers all that he heeled to
to nothing but an.
Speaker 3 (12:46):
Ant mile man. But it was real fun and it
was it was great, coach, It was great. It was great.
And so although I'm I'm still gonna get my my.
Speaker 1 (12:57):
My TV fight, when these picks, I say, we're even
right now, we're easy, Yes.
Speaker 2 (13:03):
Sir, yes sir, Yes, sir, yes sir. And that leads
us up to this week. Another yes this week coming
up in Swag football and first up, great games, great game.
Well I think this game, the first game that we're
gonna do. I think some of the shine is off
(13:24):
of this game because you're not gonna have you're not
up here.
Speaker 1 (13:27):
Full stress and that's right equipment at Jackson State out
of Yeah. Well, like I was stating, you know, I've
been slowly under the radar promoting the foe because they
were secretly doing the thing. And I think that was
part of what may have led to that tension. As
(13:47):
fast weekend they saw opportunity to get away from him,
they got out of control.
Speaker 3 (13:51):
But I said all that to say, Jackson sure.
Speaker 2 (13:55):
Joses, absolutely, there is no way I think anybody in
their right mind can go against Jackson State right now. Yes,
And I agree with Jackson State all the way. Then
next up, Uh, I died on the reservation. All Corse
State is playing real well right now. Never be playing
the host of grammar and grammar at all Corn State.
(14:17):
How do you see it, sir.
Speaker 1 (14:19):
Uh, I'm going with all Corn Grammar is gonna be
depleted with They might not even have enoughing to show up.
They might be representation like the Lincoln College was a
couple of weeks ago. As far as the depths of
concerns so that that's gonna read later.
Speaker 2 (14:34):
Now, I'm gonna be honest. Had had Grammary been at
full stress, I would have went for Grammary. But no, yes,
not even losing that many players. Yeah, all right, then
we got uh, Texas Southern at Southern.
Speaker 3 (14:51):
I'm going with Southern.
Speaker 2 (14:55):
Texas Southern at Southern, and I'm going with Southern Southern
has six seven in the row.
Speaker 3 (15:04):
At home.
Speaker 2 (15:06):
Yeah, mcmahal, have them ready. We'll, we'll, we'll, we'll agree
with you on that one.
Speaker 3 (15:11):
Oh man, oh yeah, oh yeah.
Speaker 2 (15:14):
Now here we go all up, Baba State at Mississippi Valley.
Speaker 3 (15:20):
Do we even have to call this one our coach?
Speaker 2 (15:23):
Okay, we both we both have State all the way.
We both have.
Speaker 1 (15:26):
State all the way, Yes, sir. And now and look
that's no knocking my beloved broadcast brother brother Lee Hall.
They do a phenomenal job for the Delpha Jetels. But
but this this they ain't. This ain't happening, This won't
This won't be the weekend, This won't be the week.
Speaker 2 (15:43):
Right right all right now at Mayama Model we play
our last home game of the year. We got Florida
A and them coming in hunt Field.
Speaker 1 (15:55):
How do you see it, sir, well, coach, let's just
put it like this, Your your senior day gonna be
a sad day because the Rattlers are gonna strike, strike
and strike again.
Speaker 3 (16:13):
Sir.
Speaker 2 (16:15):
Uh. I think that the way the way you all
left town. Uh, they suck all era in life out
of Huntsville and out of Lewis Creuz Stadium. I agree,
So I don't I don't think my boys are gonna
bounce back. They don't have enough time to bounce back.
Speaker 1 (16:33):
Okay, Okay, now that's just put shade in a in
a hard place or that you just kind of.
Speaker 3 (16:41):
The rest of the season.
Speaker 2 (16:42):
No. No, I think from our listening to the component
of you know, the people, I think they understand that
the injury bug has really depleted this roster, not only
from the quarterback position, but uh, they've lost off offensive lineman, defense.
It has been a total Uh. I think in the
(17:03):
off season they may want to look at their weight
and strength program.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
Okay, because there.
Speaker 2 (17:08):
Are a lot of injuries, a lot of injuries this year.
I prevent kids from being on the field, right Yeah.
And then the last game up your Panthers to playing
host to Arkansas Pine Bluff, and I don't think we
even need to waste the ink on this work. We
don't need to waste the ink on this one. I don't.
I don't think Coach Jackson will allow the Panthers to
(17:31):
uh uh to to regress. He is. He is by
far as the coach of the year in the swag
this year. Uh. You know, prior to the season, I
thought his provado was was out there. But you know what,
he's backing it.
Speaker 3 (17:46):
Up, no doubt he's backing it up.
Speaker 1 (17:49):
And I think the greatest challenge coach is gonna be
if anybody shows up. That's gonna be the greatest challenge.
Oh yeah, yes, yes, yes, sir.
Speaker 2 (17:59):
But because he's putting you, he's putting a great product.
He's putting a great product on the field. And and
when you look at the remaining schedule, uh, you know,
you got Valley left. These two home games, your you're
fans should be coming out saluting this team and this
program because from start to finish, they have done a
(18:22):
great job.
Speaker 1 (18:24):
Right well without without getting premature, uh. With the two
two season regular season games that remain, uh, this is
going to be the last time that the Panthers more
than likely be playing at home due to the fact
that the way things are going right now, they're going
to have to.
Speaker 3 (18:42):
Go on the road.
Speaker 1 (18:44):
Uh did either Jackson or Montgomery and then things work
out there to Atlanta? So if you would think it
would be a rallying cry to get out there and
see it. I got a good buddy of my fraternity
brother and he say, all I want to do is
harp on attendance. I say, well, okay, I'll just keep
(19:06):
harping on it anyway.
Speaker 3 (19:07):
But what it is what it is. So we'll hope
and pray that.
Speaker 1 (19:12):
They come, you know, but the game's gonna still go
on with or it's out, coach, So it just is
what it is. So the place holds fifteen thousand standing
room only, it's about close to eighteen.
Speaker 3 (19:26):
I'll be honest with your coach.
Speaker 1 (19:27):
If I got five thousand this weekend, I would call
it a victory.
Speaker 2 (19:31):
Wow wow wow. Yes, I mean, and it's sad to
hear that, because I think the players deserve a home crowd.
They need a crowd were they of the season that
they're having. That's what I would say, That's what I was.
Speaker 3 (19:50):
Yes, sure, yes, I.
Speaker 2 (19:51):
Hope TV Nation will will wake up and come out
and support these kids, support this program. You wanted a winner,
you got a winner, uh that that proven it on
the field, and they should come out and support this program.
Speaker 1 (20:07):
Yes, sir, Yes, sir, Well, coach, I got two topics
I want to try to get in on today.
Speaker 3 (20:15):
Uh.
Speaker 1 (20:15):
The first one, we got to go back and visit
the buffoon Grambling situation definitely a scar on everyone connected.
And then if you allow me even put it this way,
beyond just the conference, just on on us as a people.
(20:37):
And I don't want to make this a political uh
peace or anything like that, but when you see an
experience something like that as a coach, as a former coach,
you're gonna have guys that get chippy and and stuff
like that happens, and you know that.
Speaker 3 (20:59):
Penalties are coming down.
Speaker 1 (21:00):
But as a coach, how do you handle that internally
with those that remain and the ones that were involved.
Speaker 2 (21:07):
Well, I think the biggest thing now is, because it's
already taking place, you gotta use it as a teaching moment. Fellas,
we cannot have things like this to happen because let's
look at what is gonna cost us we you know,
I'm speaking of Grammling that and Bathune Cookmen, they're both
in a position where they can have some out in
(21:29):
outstanding season, right, But because of your lack of discipline,
we would not be at full strength. So we're not
the team that we know we can be for these
for this next game and in some cases, on Grammling's case,
for the next couple of games. So not being at
(21:51):
full strength means that we're not putting our best product
on the floor on the field. I'm sorry. So you
gotta use it as a teacher mode because it's already happened.
But I'm gonna take it a step further. Where else
in college football do both teams come out of the
same tunnel?
Speaker 3 (22:12):
M hm?
Speaker 2 (22:13):
Where else in college football do both teams share the
same entrant? And nowhere? Nowhere. That's that's an issue. That's
a problem that I think Grammar should correct. It's gonna
cost them some money, but so be it. They designed
(22:33):
the stadium that way both teams will not be.
Speaker 3 (22:38):
But if you're gonna do that, I ain't mean to
cut you off.
Speaker 1 (22:41):
You still have a timing mechanism where one can come
in then the other one can come in to you know,
at least reduce some of the potential friction. And we're
talking about design of a stadium that was just been
that way for a long time. So it's not anything
new that could potentially happen though, Right.
Speaker 2 (23:03):
Okay, but here's the thing. You say, you have a
time and mechanism, but it's obvious that mechanism.
Speaker 3 (23:09):
Is not working or did not work, because you know.
Speaker 2 (23:14):
When you hear some of the comments. You know, I
even heard from from coach Joseph that Patron was taken
too long. Uh, you know, because of the clock situation. Uh.
They allowed their players to go ahead before all of
the doing Cookman's players uh uh moved onto the field.
(23:37):
And then he tried to say that, well, why did
the coaches, Why did the coaches lead the players back
there by themselves? You know. So, so if something needs
to be okay, if if if that's your only exit,
then whatever time it takes for one team to get through,
that visiting team to go through, then so be. But
(24:00):
something's got to be put in place so that that
doesn't happen again. And Grambling when when you look at
when you look at the schedule, now, Grambling for the
next two games is gonna lose some of that some
of their personnel. And that means that for their big
game of the year against Southern and the BYO Classic,
(24:21):
you gonna have.
Speaker 3 (24:21):
One just gonna miss the buy You Classic, yep, yep.
Speaker 1 (24:26):
And that could have a financial impact on the game,
even though that's a pride game. And I don't really
care if it's the fifteenth string players showing up just
the pride for the state alone. If you would the
D one FCS State championship, it's still gonna have some
(24:47):
good traction, but it's not gonna be the best product available.
Speaker 2 (24:51):
Correct, correct, correct, And then with the Dome, Uh, you
know you're losing some of your players going into Jackson.
You already man is going into Jackson and you know yep.
And so so it's just tough. It's just tough, tough situation.
I hated, but but we it should not happen again.
(25:12):
So we need to look at uh how do you
correct that? Right? Right? Right?
Speaker 1 (25:19):
Look, look of all the times where it could have
been a buffering situation, it didn't buffer in.
Speaker 2 (25:23):
It all, not at all.
Speaker 1 (25:27):
Yeah, so you know, it's it's ugly unfortunate, but hopefully
we can rebound it. Well we will, We will we'll
rebound and recover from it, but it's going.
Speaker 3 (25:37):
To take a little time.
Speaker 1 (25:39):
And coach, you know, you and I we we have
talked about coaches packagings and when we look at the
big boys circuit on how these coaches they fired yet
another one, uh well the Giants, that's the one fired
their coach. But somebody got fired in college this past weekend.
I can't call the coach at Safford got.
Speaker 2 (26:02):
Was let go?
Speaker 1 (26:03):
Yeah yeah, but but I said all that to say
this coach uh and then was Art Brown just got
signed to this big old extension because they were whispering
about him possibly going to Penn State or whatnot.
Speaker 3 (26:15):
When want and I'm looking at.
Speaker 1 (26:18):
The reality as far as how the fact affects us FCS,
HBC used and even the logical big boy approach. Instead
of blocking in somebody for a seven ten year deal
with all this guaranteed money, why not give them just
a three year big bang contract, you know, instead of
(26:43):
trying to pay all that back in and if it don't.
Speaker 3 (26:45):
Work, you move on.
Speaker 1 (26:46):
Because right now you finding guys a sevent ten year deals,
not for two years.
Speaker 3 (26:50):
You're getting rid of him, right right right?
Speaker 2 (26:53):
Well see we well, we on our level, we definitely
can't do that. Oh no, no, no, learn to because
we we we can't afford the money. But I think
this year is coaching cycle because of these big biles,
I think you're gonna see a change in the landscape. Now.
Speaker 3 (27:13):
I don't think you're gonna see these.
Speaker 2 (27:14):
Big These big bios are not gonna come because I
think it's brought too much attention to the amount of
money that we're spending on athletics. You know, you playing
have got fifty fifty million dollars to sit at home.
Come on, man, with this economity way, it is now
right that that it just doesn't look right. And that's
that's a bad look for college athletics. That's a bad
(27:36):
look for UH power five power for football. And so
I think with this coaching cycle, because of what has
happened during this coaching cycle, I think we're gonna see
a difference.
Speaker 1 (27:50):
Okay, now when it dominates down to us. And I
know we've had this discussion. I can't remember it was
on air, off the air with the m fact that
the nil transfer report, even though it's on a very
small percentage.
Speaker 3 (28:05):
On our level, how not how.
Speaker 4 (28:10):
What would be the most feasible economically win win situation
for the institution and the coach to coach let's say
basketball and.
Speaker 1 (28:24):
Football level on our level, what would be a fair
turn and price in your opinion, sir, from your analysis.
Speaker 2 (28:35):
Well, on the I could talk about the terms, but price,
I'll never put a price on somebody else's talkabook. But
in terms of the terms, I think you have to
give a coach a recruiting you I mean a recruiting class. Rather.
I don't think any coach should be put in a
situation where they can't get their own players. And that
means that you bringing in high school kids that help
(29:00):
build your program, and you want to see those kids
go from a freshman to a senior. So that's a
four year cycle. The nc TOY is even looking at
They even see that the kids need more than four years.
They even considering making eligibility five years. That's on the
table right now. So I think that you give a
(29:22):
coach at least at least a recruiting cycle, and that's
four years at the middle. See, I think when you
bring a coach in, they bring in get an opportunity
to bring in their own players. By that second year. Well,
you can see progress in the first year, but that
(29:43):
by the second year, you can see the direction of
the program. By the third year, Uh, you should be
in contention. By the fourth year, you should be at
a championship level. That's the way I see it.
Speaker 3 (29:57):
But that's a four door at least sniffing the door.
Speaker 2 (30:00):
Right, that's what I'm saying.
Speaker 3 (30:02):
Yes, yes, okay, okay, and then now.
Speaker 2 (30:05):
And then if you're doing it that way, there's no
there's no figures, there's no big file.
Speaker 3 (30:14):
Okay.
Speaker 1 (30:15):
Now, we look at the Southern situation, because that's about
the closest thing on our level, in our in our
conference that's doing this there showing the quote unquote impatience.
Speaker 3 (30:26):
Okay, they hadn't been a coach they.
Speaker 1 (30:30):
Went over past two years, haven't uh since it was
Boston Oldham, since it's been gone.
Speaker 2 (30:36):
That's correct, And newly is down grade. So why and
and and in grades case, I don't understand it. You
would you played for a championship last year. You don't
even get your second You don't even get a full
second year, even though the wheels were coming off. And
when you look at it, it was injuries. Look look
(31:00):
look at how many kids are hurt at southern and
then at the most critical position, your top two quarterbacks
hurt right injured when they can't play. So why why
are we so impatient of being a Jaguars?
Speaker 1 (31:20):
Well, I think it's it's it's it's a it's a
catch twenty two coach, because it's a copycat world. We
always say, copycat leader, it's a copycat world. Right, Well,
if they're doing it, let us do it. Well, why
can't we have what they have? And I and I
get I get that, But to it, there are degrees
(31:42):
of separation, separations for a reason.
Speaker 3 (31:45):
Right when when you have what you have, you got
what you got.
Speaker 1 (31:50):
How can a person it's just like almost like a
marriage mentioned topic chart thirty.
Speaker 3 (31:56):
You got by some years, But how can you say
you want to be with a person?
Speaker 1 (32:04):
And you and I both know, Coach that if you're
gonna be with anybody for any amount of time, it
takes you really almost seven years to get used to
each other, you know. But then I said, man, you
show look good to me, and all of a sudden
I can't stand you anymore?
Speaker 2 (32:20):
Right?
Speaker 3 (32:21):
What what what? What's? What's? What's? What happened between now?
And then I don't get it, yep, yep, And we
don't have.
Speaker 1 (32:36):
The money to flowing around as you know, hey, man,
at least just ride out his turn and if it
doesn't turn around, then we had to turn the page.
But now I gotta scrape up some coin to try
to buy you out, and I'm already on.
Speaker 3 (32:51):
A budget's budget. Then we come back and and it
says you continuously digging yourself in a deeper, deeper dish.
Speaker 2 (32:59):
Right, because I understanding this, still being.
Speaker 5 (33:02):
Doll yeah, yeah, and you can you can say what
you want to say, you know, Yeah, I got a
little rainy day fun, but I can't keep having too
many rainy days.
Speaker 3 (33:14):
Man, I'm gonna be like no in the art yep,
you know so.
Speaker 1 (33:19):
I and I just think it's you said the word arrogance.
I it kind of almost fits. And I'm not the
other one of this here, Mark Southern is being arrogant.
But sometime we think our brand, I'll say, the case
of Gramma and Grammar historically sound, but just like they're
living more off the brand that Eddie Robinson days than
(33:42):
actually creating fresh fruit.
Speaker 2 (33:46):
Right up until this year. You're absolutely correct. I thought
Grandma was living off of their past, but they got
a pretty edition product on the field this year, right, right,
they have an opportunity to to to revitalize their brand. Uh.
But but doing things like they did Saturday doesn't doesn't
(34:06):
help that situation. But absolutely correct. So you have to
be careful. You have to be careful.
Speaker 3 (34:14):
Yeah, yeah, I know.
Speaker 1 (34:16):
I got so excited with this TV uh Man Handler
and Bulldog. We didn't get much no basketball. Then you
got some basketball clipms before we get out of here
this week, sir?
Speaker 2 (34:28):
What what? What? Yes? Uh Grammar State men. Uh, they
did a great job. Or they beat uh Howard up
in d C. And so that's a that that that's
a big win for uh for the Swack. And then
on the women's side, if I'm not mistaken, didn't somebody
take down your mission Tigers?
Speaker 1 (34:50):
Because we were talking about swacked basketball.
Speaker 2 (34:55):
But that's what I'm saying. But I was saying women
swackda did I.
Speaker 1 (35:00):
It's our pure bluff or or but coach that that
that was like a long time ago.
Speaker 3 (35:05):
Coach was a long time.
Speaker 2 (35:08):
Okay, yeah yeah yeah, but but it's still a part
swat basketball.
Speaker 3 (35:17):
Look, you're gonna get trying to get the last jam
hen over.
Speaker 1 (35:21):
But it's okay, it's okay, It's okay, it's okay.
Speaker 3 (35:25):
Okay. Well, I appreciate that there, and.
Speaker 1 (35:29):
With that, I'm gonna I'm gonna allow you to have
some clothes and thoughts and comments before I give you
my moment of silence for that.
Speaker 3 (35:38):
Okay, Yeah, I.
Speaker 2 (35:40):
Just want to I just want to thank you for
having this opportunity, uh, to to even talk.
Speaker 3 (35:45):
About swack uh all swacked sports.
Speaker 2 (35:49):
Uh.
Speaker 6 (35:49):
But at the same time, sir, uh, I would have
you know, liked in the future for you have to
be a little more kind of a little more softer
with you when you come into Huntsville for this.
Speaker 2 (36:03):
But despite all of that, sir, we still love you.
Everything is still groovy, and I would actually encourage you
and your panther kids continue doing what you're.
Speaker 1 (36:15):
Doing and which is your pridhood. Well, thank you very much,
coach Man.
Speaker 3 (36:20):

my mentor, but but the A.
Speaker 3 (36:28):
And M Bulldog family. It was just great.
Speaker 1 (36:31):
All the way around TV Nation traveled safely and from
what I gathered, everybody was on the behavior. We even
we even pushed a chair back under the table when
we got up and ate of all your food, Coach,
so we did have that moment of silence for the bulldog.
Speaker 3 (36:51):
You know it was. It was.
Speaker 1 (36:54):
