Speaker 1 (00:02):
And welcome back to the locker room. Man oh man,
what a week it is to be back in the
locker room. I am joined by the Guru himself, Coach
Van Teedaway.

Speaker 2 (00:15):
Coach, how are you doing this week, sir, Well.

Speaker 3 (00:19):
I'm doing fantastic. I'm just so happy and delighted that
things are going well on the Perfected Hills.

Speaker 1 (00:30):
I'm so glad that she had finally acknowledged our dominance,
at least for the twenty twenty five seasons.

Speaker 2 (00:37):
Sir man, you know, it's good.

Speaker 1 (00:40):
It's good when you can look the man in the
mirror and say he is the king, at least on
the West side until further notice, right until.

Speaker 3 (00:49):
Further Congratulations to TV Nations, Congratulations to coach Jackson, and
congratulations to that fire football team that you all.

Speaker 2 (01:00):
Have, Yes, sir, Yes, sir.

Speaker 1 (01:02):
And a lot of people are not realizing couse they
think it's an automatic slam dump. Prairie View still has
a remote chance of hosting the championship game, but we'll
talk about that a little bit later on. It's time
to give these grades out and it's time to do
the further final pick of the week, where we got

(01:25):
a couple of games on the twenty ninth, but the
chunk of the boat of these games about to be
wrapped up this week, and so.

Speaker 2 (01:34):
I still I don't know.

Speaker 1 (01:35):
I don't think I have too much of a chance
to win the picks, but I'm gonna give it all
I got, sir. But I'm feeling real good. My panthers
been made up for my defeating the picks. How about that.
I promise you. I think I'd.

Speaker 3 (01:48):
Rather have this championship that than to be the champion
of these picks, I promise you. But nevertheless, it's been
a it's been a great year. You know. The season
has had its ups and downs for a lot of
these teams, but the teams that Jackson State on the

(02:10):
in the East and TV in the West, you all
have stood up and stood out and you've shown your
dominance throughout the year. So through to both institutions.

Speaker 2 (02:23):
Well, sir, This dast Saturday.

Speaker 3 (02:26):
Week was a great week for November the fifteenth, and
we're gonna start off down and by turning Ruge where
they played the host of Texas Southern. Texas Southern won
that game thirty five to thirty. Texas Southern will get
an A and I'm gonna be light on Southern this week.
I'll give them a C minus. But it's been a

(02:47):
while since Southern has not been able to win a
home game.

Speaker 1 (02:51):
Well, it has been a while, and I was a
little generous because I gave him a B minus because
they almost pulled that thing out. They had a couple
of implosions, but they showed up. The fans were still
showing up in Baton Rouge, and that's.

Speaker 2 (03:03):
A good thing. That's a good thing.

Speaker 1 (03:06):
I gave Texas Southern and a minus were winning on
the road because they didn't win when I expect them
to win. Then when I pick against some of them
jokers left me out on the line to get wet
again from after being soaked up by the beautiful sun.

Speaker 2 (03:21):
So I gave them a minus.

Speaker 3 (03:23):
Right right, Then we'll go down to the reservation where
all corn State played host to Grambling. Allcorne State won
that game twenty seven and sixteen. I want to give
All Corner a They are on a roll right now.
They have found a niche I guess, and then the
Grambling they'll have to get a C from.

Speaker 1 (03:41):
Me, Yes, sir, I'm giving I'm giving All Corner a plus.
I'm giving them another A for this week if they
can help my panthers.

Speaker 2 (03:49):
Out, you know. And I gave I gave Grambling.

Speaker 1 (03:53):
A C plus I picked all Corn to win the game.
But I still like that the Gramlan did show up
to work anyway.

Speaker 2 (04:03):
I like the fact.

Speaker 1 (04:04):
And it appears I can't be confident and saying, but
it appears that Mickey Joseph might have extended his stay
at Grammar before he get a while longer.

Speaker 3 (04:13):
Right, right, right, And then we're gonna skip on down
to the state of Alabama where Alabama State and Mississippi
Valley teed it up. I think they played their game
down in Mobile. Alabama State showed their dominance and won
that game forty one to three. Bama stated, getting a
and I can never fail Mississippi Valley. They'll get a CE.

Speaker 2 (04:36):
A she coach.

Speaker 1 (04:37):
Yeah, okay, I gave I gave d Yeah, you figured out,
and I have.

Speaker 2 (04:47):
To get ALMA.

Speaker 3 (04:48):
I said that because they're on the score of the
field goal. That's probably why.

Speaker 1 (04:51):
You yes, yes, sir, yes sir. And look and I
hope they don't they don't score that this week, but
that's part of that's part of the hope and the
chance when we get wrapped up here. But I gave alum,
I'm a state in are They're looking good. Coaches, just
doesn't force it there. Jackson's looking a little bit better.

Speaker 3 (05:12):
That's it. That's it, Yes, sir, it boy, that's it.
And speaking of Jackson, they played host to Badom Cookman.
Uh huh. It was a game that kept a lot
of interest because I was sitting in one game and
watching their game at the same time. Uh huh. Now,
Badoon Cookman was was in there for a while, but
Jackson State pulled away and won that game twenty eight

(05:34):
to thirteen. Yes, I'm gonna give Jackson State an ad,
but I'll tell you this, because of the way the
game was played, I'm gonna give badoona bee.

Speaker 1 (05:42):
I gave a B plus coach because I really, even
though they were playing shorthanded, I was like, man, these
jokers are playing with some intention and they got everything
going and Jackson, what can we say, Jackson is Jackson.
I gave them a for just taking care of this man.
They're rolling right along. But I need them to play

(06:03):
D like this week against Alcorn. I doubt that they
played D like, but I ain't no, ain't no harm
and hoping right coche right, that's true.

Speaker 3 (06:11):
In but I'll tell you what now. Because it is
considered part of a rival, anything can happen.

Speaker 2 (06:17):
It happened now, yes, sir, Yes.

Speaker 3 (06:19):
Isn't it ironic? The two teams that were not at
full strength they both lost that young men and something.

Speaker 2 (06:28):
Yes, you you have your conduct is very important, yes, sir.

Speaker 3 (06:33):
Cookmen in Grambling State winning their contest shorthanded, and they
both came up on a short end of the stick.

Speaker 2 (06:39):
Yes, indeed, yes, indeed, all right.

Speaker 3 (06:42):
It now to Huntsville, Alabama, where Alabama and them played
host to Florida and them. Florida and them came in
and won that game twenty six to twenty three. I
get famue an A for winning on a road and
my bulldogs are gonna have to take a seat.

Speaker 1 (06:59):
I gave you Bulldogs or B plus and I gave
fam and a minus.

Speaker 2 (07:05):
I gave the Bulldogs.

Speaker 1 (07:06):
A B plus because they were competitive and it was
a game.

Speaker 2 (07:12):
But it's like getting a nice piece of steak.

Speaker 1 (07:19):
I'm not a big steak eater, but a stak don't
really taste like a steak. If the seasons is not
just right, coach.

Speaker 3 (07:26):
Yes, yep.

Speaker 1 (07:27):
And it's like your bulldogs they looked a part sometime.
But some seasonings are off, man, some seasons off.

Speaker 3 (07:36):
Yep, yep, I agree. And unfortunately it's been on the
defensive side of the ball, so it's on the back
side of that state where they season one side and
then season the other side.

Speaker 2 (07:46):
Yeah.

Speaker 1 (07:47):
Yeah, like they was thinking that the season would bleed through. No,
you got a season of things both sides and didn't
let it marinate. Coach out y'all seasoning and throwing it
on the grill. Man, you gotta let it breathe, Let
it breathe.

Speaker 3 (08:00):
That's say that.

Speaker 1 (08:01):
That's barbecue one o one for some of out of
the lisson out there don't know quite about how to
put it right, how to get it right, but I
can help you to get it right.

Speaker 3 (08:08):
Oh yeah. And then in the big game other week,
your Prayview Paths played the host of Arkansas Pine Bluff
in a very big game. Your Pathers came out on
top fifty sixty nine. Your Path's gonna get an A
plus because of all the states that were everything that
was at stake. And then I'm gonna give Arkansas Pine

(08:31):
Bluff a DC.

Speaker 2 (08:33):
Yeah, I'm right there with you, coach.

Speaker 1 (08:36):
This is the I think the first A plus that
I've given my Panthers all season, and well deserved.

Speaker 2 (08:45):
All I can.

Speaker 1 (08:46):
Like I said, I'll give Pine Bluff a D for
showing up, you know, but what a strong performance by
the Panthers. Man, and and they're they're seem to be
striving at the right time, you know, And and and
the defense has been on this game all season, but
the offense is finally trying to put together. And with

(09:08):
the crazy part about the coach, our quarterback play is
still questionable.

Speaker 2 (09:13):
Wow, it's still questionable. So you know, you know, hell
to the King.

Speaker 1 (09:18):
You know, brother Jackson is doing his thing, and we
got to do it a couple more times, starting this
weekend against Valley.

Speaker 2 (09:28):
But yeah, they they're doing it. We're gonna get these
pigs in.

Speaker 1 (09:32):
And then I go a little bit I've been throwing
these teasers out there, but I'm gonna go a little
bit deeper on how the West can be won and
the championship can be hosted.

Speaker 3 (09:42):
Yeah, well, I think the West is already won. I
know that.

Speaker 2 (09:46):
Yeah, I know that.

Speaker 1 (09:47):
I'm talking about how it was one but how we
can extend that winning to stay at home for the championship.

Speaker 2 (09:52):
Yes, sir, gotcha?

Speaker 3 (09:53):
Gotcha? Okay, all right, here we go fix for no
Iki saw pine Bluff at Alabama State. I don't think
we have to carry on.

Speaker 1 (10:02):
Well, I got to coach because I ain't got nothing
else to lose. I didn't want to West, so I'm
picking Pine Bluff.

Speaker 2 (10:09):
I'm trying. I'm still trying to fight. So I'm the coach.

Speaker 1 (10:13):
I know it sounds crazy, man, but I'm already short man.
I gotta do something. Okay, Look, I'm This is not
a heart or seery mold. This is desperation mode, man.

Speaker 2 (10:27):
So I know what I'm doing right now, Coach.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
I hadn't been drinking, I hadn't been smoking or anything
like that. I have to pick them because I'm I'm down, coach,
and this is last week.

Speaker 2 (10:37):
It makes you brown, man.

Speaker 1 (10:39):
Give me give me Pine Bluff, Sir, give me pine Bluff.

Speaker 3 (10:42):
I got you. I'm still with Alabama. Stak the shoe.

Speaker 2 (10:44):
I know you know, I know your, I know your.

Speaker 1 (10:48):
I gotta expect this one all right now here.

Speaker 3 (10:51):
We're gonna Florida Classic the thrown Ushers fam You how
do you see.

Speaker 2 (10:55):
It, sir, I'm taking but thoon Cookman, Sir.

Speaker 3 (10:59):
I agree on that.

Speaker 2 (11:00):
I don't you know they're playing well.

Speaker 3 (11:04):
FAM. You struggling to be in them, and we're not
playing well.

Speaker 2 (11:08):
Okay, okay, okay.

Speaker 3 (11:11):
Alrighty here we go all Coss State at Jackson State.

Speaker 2 (11:17):
I'm taking all coin.

Speaker 1 (11:20):
I got to take them emotionally, and I sure got
to take the spirits to give me all coin.

Speaker 2 (11:25):
Sir.

Speaker 3 (11:26):
Alrighty, then well I'm staying with Jackson.

Speaker 2 (11:29):
Yeah, you got to stay with I want you to
stay with FAM.

Speaker 3 (11:31):
You know my bulldogs will be at Texas Southern. We No,
you came with another upstair if.

Speaker 2 (11:47):
You want to well to me, both wmen is upset.

Speaker 3 (11:52):
I never playing at home. Take my bull dogs are struggling.

Speaker 1 (11:56):
I'm okay, okay, then where if you're gonna do that?
Give me the will give me your bulldogs this week?

Speaker 2 (12:01):
Sir. You give me your bulls had a bulldog and
look look for those that listen.

Speaker 1 (12:09):
I'm doing this strictly out of desperation, y'all, So don't look.
Don't hold it to me, don't hold it to my heart,
charge it to my head. I'm just I just I
gotta do something. Y'all gotta do something.

Speaker 3 (12:20):
Okay, Well, I'm gonna give you opportunity to be real desperate.
Then I'm gonna give you the opportunity to be real desperate.
Mississippi Valley. Is that your pacts.

Speaker 2 (12:30):
I'm not that desperate, coause I'm not that desperate.

Speaker 1 (12:40):
Well, whether these say, well, not so fast, my friend,
not so fast, I'm not. I'm not that desperate. So
I was born at night, but not last night, sir.
And that's why I'm gonna have to draw the line.
But now, and and in theory, now Valley has had
previous numbers, last two out of three years. But no,

(13:04):
I know he's not gonna here and I'm not gonna
hear neither.

Speaker 3 (13:07):
Coach.

Speaker 2 (13:08):
I just hope we don't have a letdown, but I
don't think we would.

Speaker 1 (13:12):
But it leads me to this scenario, coach, of what
could happen now this week. I was a bit premature
to a degree, and I was looking, you know what
if Prairie View could beat Valley by twenty three points

(13:34):
and all Corn beats Jackson, prayer View could host a
championship game. Then I thought about it. Wait a minute, Wait,
a minute, Wait a minute. The reality is that Jackson
can beat all Corn, and if that is the case,

(13:56):
All Corn lost the Pray Review thirteen to twelve. Depending
on how much Jackson beats All Coined by then Prairie
View is gonna have to really blow the top of
the gaskets against Mississippi Valley. So either way it goes,

(14:16):
we gotta put a whoop in a thorough convincing whooping
on Valley this weekend. I said twenty three. But I'm
more comfortable coach in reality, and they might sound crazy.
They're gonna have to be Valley by thirty plus in
order to have a chance, because I do see the
All Coin game and the Jackson State game being very,
very competitive and down to the wire.

Speaker 3 (14:40):
Oh okay, why I should it thought that they would
go with the team that was with the best record,
But in this case, that would be your paths, I
do believe. And then I thought attendants was a part
of it.

Speaker 1 (14:58):
Criteria, No, not attendance. What happened is it would go
head the head since they didn't play each other h
at the head, right, then they go to common opponents. Now,
if you base this strictly on the surface, against Alabama State,
then hands down it would be Jackson State representing and

(15:21):
being at home. Now, if you look at the common opponents,
you got Alahada, you got Alabama State, you got Alabama
A and M. You've got Mississippi Valley, and you've got
all Coin. Now, Prairie View, as we mentioned, beat Mississippi
I mean be all coin thirteen to twelve.

Speaker 2 (15:42):
Jackson closes against all Coin.

Speaker 1 (15:45):
All Coin, I mean Jackson beat Mississippi Valley forty two
to three. Okay, And so when you count up all
the points between those common opponents, that's how I got
that they need to be Valley by twenty three. But
I had not tacked it in that they had yet
to play all Coin. So I have to come with
a correction on that. And that's why I say they

(16:08):
got to be valid about thirty plus. And if that's
not motivation being at home on senior day to rip
that thing open, then go, I don't care who show
up and who don't show up. Let the panthers show
up and take care of business right.

Speaker 3 (16:23):
Right right, Well, it would be a beautiful day if that,
if that's were to happen, well, let me just tell
you this from what I've seen this year. I don't
care where the game is being played. Your your Pathers
have proven they can play on the.

Speaker 2 (16:37):
Road, yes, sir, and I know that that part.

Speaker 3 (16:41):
Of it has not gone unnoticed, absolutely right right. I
think they're a good role team and I just look
forward to the contest. I just think it's gonna be
a great matchup and you get the two best teams.
There are three teams that have shown their dominance in
the swag this year. Mm hm you Jason State's uh

(17:05):
Prayer View and Alabama State. Yes sir, and I sir,
you're getting the best of the best.

Speaker 2 (17:10):
Yes sir, Yes, sir. And you know early in the
season people say, well it aught.

Speaker 1 (17:15):
It ought to not be the visions there ought to
be Jackson playing Alabama State, because, let's be honest, coach,
they were somewhat overlooking my old beloved Panthers.

Speaker 2 (17:24):
You know, you know, and you know you get it.

Speaker 1 (17:26):
You just be as slowly, it was surely, as methodical
as possible and leave your results on the field. That's
why I was a little hesitant about it. Still, it's
not my style, but it is what it is. I
want a coach to come in there, take care of business.
You ain't gotta say what you're gonna do. Just go
on and do it. And then at the end of
the row and just don't take care of business. But

(17:49):
it's still championship or bus. You can't just make it there.
You gotta win it. Because if we look at the
reality of things, Duly got to the championship game. Bubba
got to the championship game. Now you got to get
us through the door. Like o'bon Phillips say, We're not
gonna knock at the door, We're gonna kick the door in.

Speaker 2 (18:11):
Yeah, We're gonna have to kick it in. So now
we got some unfinished work.

Speaker 1 (18:15):
And for those who think I'm being a hard task master,
I'm basing that on the expectations that coach brought to
the table and my expectations of him carrying it out.
So you got what you got, yep, Yeah, you got
what you got. And so with all that being said,
we got some We got some some furniture to rearrange

(18:35):
this weekend, coach, and who better to do it against
the Mississippi Valley, you know. And I already told my
brother Lee Harr said, Man, I love you, but this
is strictly personal this weekend. This is this is strictly
person you know, I usually pull for us. I'm not
pulling for nothing but some pulled up hamstrings that.

Speaker 2 (18:55):
Ain't not enough to end their career.

Speaker 1 (18:57):
But whoever your best players are, that they can ain't
even make it.

Speaker 2 (19:01):
That they can't even make it, you know.

Speaker 1 (19:02):
And I want pure dominance, coach, That's what I'm looking for.
I'm expecting pure dominance. With the movie the Titans say,
make this the night that they remember that the Panthers
were on this seal, right.

Speaker 3 (19:15):
And the other things that I hope and pray that
you already, Slady for the championship game. I hope that
the team comes out of this matchup with Valley.

Speaker 2 (19:26):
Healthy, Yes, sir, Yes, sir.

Speaker 3 (19:28):
That's the number one thing, Yes, sir, everybody healthy, yes sir,
in order to put together a good game play for
that's whack championship game. No, don well, football is about
to wind up after Saturday. You're gonna have a Tuski
year at Alabama State on the twenty seven, and then

(19:49):
of course you got to buy you Classic on the
twenty ninth with Gramlin in Southern Right now, the other
thing congratulations to TV Nation because you all are to
know uber one seed when it comes to volleyball, Yes, sir,
and that and that comes off this weekend. Also down
at Tallahassee, Florida. Yes, sir, my bulldogs finished fifth, down

(20:09):
in their ced fifth and Jackson State is number two.
So I look forward to a great volleyball experience.

Speaker 2 (20:19):
Yes. Yes.

Speaker 3 (20:21):
On the basketball side, for men and women, we've had
a couple of On the men's side, we've had a
couple of nice victories. I think the latest one was
uh uh Alabama and them played uh played host to
uh Charceton Southern. They beat Charleston Southern and then they

(20:41):
beat lyndon the wood. So that's OVC in the Big South.
Of course, Gramling had the the win over Southern Mississippi.
It comes to basketball, uh, we we better keep it
our on Grambling now because right now three and one

(21:02):
and they're looking real good. They've they've played some great
basketballs thus far.

Speaker 2 (21:09):
Yes, sir.

Speaker 3 (21:09):
On the women's side, my bulldogs fell last night to
University of Alabama. They were on the road at Alabama
and Alabama spank Milady's real good last night. But I'm
still proud of them. Alabama won the game sixty sixty
forty three mm. But once football season is over, it

(21:33):
we'll be looking at the hardwood.

Speaker 1 (21:35):
Yes, sir, let me say, looking full detail at the hardwood,
and it's going to be some exciting basketball to be played.
But Coach, I was peaking across the yard the other
day and there is an absolute boo hall in the making, man,
this weekend between Delaware State and.

Speaker 2 (21:59):
A line of State.

Speaker 3 (22:01):
Yes, sir, that would win it shot.

Speaker 1 (22:06):
Yes, that that game is going to determine who represents
the MIAC in the Celebration Bowl. And I'm I'm I'm
gonna have an eye winked in over there, coach, just
to see exactly what's going on on.

Speaker 2 (22:23):
The other side.

Speaker 1 (22:24):
But they're not gonna get all of my attention. I'm
kicking in when previews at halftime, I at.

Speaker 2 (22:29):
Least see what's going on.

Speaker 1 (22:31):
But man, that should be a very very tough battle
fault game. And what do you say about the Shawn
Jackson coming in doing this thing?

Speaker 2 (22:42):
Not much saying about Mike Vick and what he's doing.

Speaker 1 (22:45):
At Norfolk, But man, to go to Delaware State, right,
and those who are not familiar Delaware State if we
had to compare them to a swack program, I would
have to put them along the lines of a Pine Bluff.

Speaker 2 (23:04):
Type king.

Speaker 1 (23:07):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, I wasn't gonna quite say Valley, but
because I say pine Bluff is maybe a step ahead
of Valley. So that's why I would say Delaware, uh,
Delaware State man, and a phenomenal job the little up
there in Dover. Uh yeah, Dover, Delaware seventy capacity stadium

(23:33):
to me, which is an ideal size. But they them
hornets men have been taking care of business and looking
forward to see the outcome of that one. But whomever
it is coming from the swag gonna have to really
really uh take care of business. And you know who's
turning over right now? Coach the executives from ESPN, because

(23:57):
if Delaware State represents and let's just say, let's just
say that my beloved Panthers end up representing the Celebration Bowl,
that's gonna be a logistics nightmare. Yeah, that's gonna be
a little logistics nightmare. And you know what, I don't care.

Speaker 3 (24:17):
Started talking about small markets. That's just like Delaware State
played Howard this past week. Yes, they pay twenty seven
hundred people showed up for that game.

Speaker 2 (24:25):
Yes, sir, Yes, sir, yes sir, yes, we.

Speaker 3 (24:28):
Talked in small market. Uh and and when ESPN, you know,
they always look at them the dollar size. That's the
only thing that they see, and they look for the
larger markets for the for these games. But uh, my
head's off to San Jackson. He so far it's just
been a success for him. Yes, sure, coming in doing

(24:52):
his thing as the head coach of Delaware State. Right,
and of course South Carolina State has a lot to
say about that this Saturday. But they're playing in that
Delaware So I'm if I had to pull for somebody,
I'm pulling for Delaware State.

Speaker 1 (25:07):
Yes, sir, it could be the Jackson two taperation role.
So we got we got a lot to look forward to.
But coach, you know, I'm trying to get ahead of
my puppies before they get round up.

Speaker 2 (25:18):
And I want to want to give.

Speaker 1 (25:20):
