Speaker 1 (00:02):
And welcome back to the very day before the action
episode of Yeah. I said it being Jack and Mike
Ben is en route to the atl He might be
there right now, but I got brother Jack on the line.
Speaker 2 (00:21):
Jack. How you doing, sir?
Speaker 3 (00:22):
Just fine, sir? How about yourself?
Speaker 1 (00:24):
When I dared not complains, It's say it's time to
get your popcorn or locked and ready to roll?
Speaker 2 (00:33):
Right, sir, it's enough talk, been going on enough fans,
fair enough.
Speaker 1 (00:40):
You know Glory we shut him down last week. Jack,
we shut him down last week. I don't, man, I'm
so been turned around with this quick cause. Did we
can get a cast to recap last week's game?
Speaker 3 (00:52):
I don't believe we recapped last You know what, I
think we did because I went over the totals because
I think we had was at the.
Speaker 1 (01:01):
Game before that might have Man, that I know. You
know what we recapped. We recapped the Valley game, right and.
Speaker 2 (01:10):
Right right.
Speaker 1 (01:11):
You want to hear it up and get that, you know.
But man, we'll do a brief recap of the Swag
Championship game going to the Celebration Bowl and layout some
some interesting underlying stories for this uh coming up?
Speaker 2 (01:29):
Man? Overall, what do you give.
Speaker 1 (01:32):
The performance of the Panthers going to Jackson winning and
what I felt like was a convincing win.
Speaker 2 (01:39):
And to be quite honest with you, Jack, I.
Speaker 1 (01:41):
Believe that the score was way closer than what the
game actually was as far as control and dominance from
the Panthers point of.
Speaker 3 (01:48):
View, Yeah, I agree with you a coach. The coaches
had them ready as far as but in the moment
not be too big, and I think they they settled in,
you know, uh, from from kickoff to finish, and uh,
I'm just proud of proud of the guys and how
(02:08):
they how they played, you know, a full sixty game.
Speaker 1 (02:14):
Yes, sir, Now, I had one Fred Samford moment when
was was doing an excellent job driving on that big
It would have been a ninety six yard drive, but
it ended up being ninety one because they from with
at the one yard line and gave Jackson some hope.
But you punched that thing in and it's it's lights
out for real.
Speaker 2 (02:35):
But it gave a little lingering hope.
Speaker 1 (02:37):
But they were able to hold them off with the
defense being stingy. Did you did you think that could
have been a major turnaround at that point?
Speaker 2 (02:46):
Man?
Speaker 1 (02:46):
Uh?
Speaker 3 (02:47):
Yeah, definitely. I mean in football, it's always a game
of inches. And you know, an emphasis that newly used
to say was, you know, spot the ball. So uh,
I think that Campuss was definitely in play.
Speaker 1 (03:04):
Yes, sir, Well we component it's not Jackson State in
South Carolina State.
Speaker 2 (03:12):
Well I do here for you. Do you have some stats?
You got some step?
Speaker 1 (03:16):
Yeah, go ahead, I know you're a stat man. That's
what I call you. Stat man, Jackson come on with
stat man.
Speaker 3 (03:21):
Well, like, like we mentioned against Valley, we had five
hundred yards of total offense. Not to be surprised. Hey,
the Panthers put up four hundred and twenty four yards
against Jackson State. We had two hundred ninety four yards passing.
(03:42):
We had one hundred and thirty yards on the ground
versus Jackson State, who had a total yards of two
hundred and forty four. They had one hundred and sixty
yards passing and in eighty four yards rushing. So we
won the time of physics and thirty eight minutes and
(04:03):
fifty six seconds versus Jackson State's twenty one minutes and
four seconds. So overall, a real sound game from all
three levels of the Panthers.
Speaker 1 (04:19):
Yes, sir, yes, sir, and we got ignorog special teams
with the excession little block field goal special teams had
some strong play in the game as well. And it's
ironic that you opened up with that time of possession
because the tail of the tape between South Carolina.
Speaker 2 (04:35):
And Perview Perview is like at thirty.
Speaker 1 (04:37):
One minutes fifty nine seconds and South Carolina State is
at thirty two minutes and one second, So both of
those guys are used to controlling the tempo of the game.
Speaker 2 (04:50):
So we'll see exactly how that plays out.
Speaker 1 (04:55):
This jack is going to be by for the greatest
challenge for TV this season, and deservely so.
Speaker 2 (05:01):
It's a championship game.
Speaker 1 (05:04):
I'm not feeling overwhelmed or underwhelm by any stretch of imagination.
Got confidence that Coach Jackson and Panthers will finish what
they started and before we you know, you know, extend
this more than what it.
Speaker 2 (05:23):
Needs to be. What's your prediction of this game, sir?
Speaker 3 (05:29):
Projection on this game, I think our hardest tests would
be Jackson State. But saying that, I have the Panthers
being victorious twenty seven to twenty.
Speaker 1 (05:43):
Four, twenty seven to twenty four, some pretty generous numbers, man,
some pretty good.
Speaker 2 (05:54):
I really think it's not going to be that many
points scored. Based on what.
Speaker 1 (06:02):
I've seen throughout the course of the season from both teams,
I'm thinking the Panthers is going to win this thing
seventeen to fourteen in a very strategically fought played out battle.
Security of the ball is going to be very important
for both teams, as we mentioned earlier, time of possession
(06:24):
and field positioning, whether you can flip play the flip
game when it comes to punting or taken advantage, minimize penalties.
Speaker 2 (06:35):
And just over off.
Speaker 1 (06:36):
Though I'm not worried about the setting, I'm not worried
about who won't be in attendance, even though I think
attendance should be brought up, because there's been some obvious
notes throughout the course of the week dealed up for
the Celebration Bowl, that they've lowered some hotel rates and
(06:59):
trying to get more teket sales due to.
Speaker 2 (07:01):
The lack of numbers. And I think you got a couple.
Speaker 1 (07:03):
Of factors in that the factory number one, with the
Swag Championship Game being the week prior, and you gotta
get that together. You gotta get your sand base to
get there, then you turn around in a very short notice.
You got a trip to Atlanta. And then let's add
(07:26):
the fact that it's holiday season and so you got
a lot in the distance. I believe it's something like
eight hundred plus miles from Prairie View to Atlanta in
comparison to what North Carolina would have I want to
say about three hundred and fifty miles to get to Atlanta.
Speaker 2 (07:42):
None of that or excuses is the reality.
Speaker 1 (07:46):
But I'm going to be very intrigued on what the
attendance would possibly look like for this twenty twenty five
edition of the celebration. Well, in fact, you should have
some numbers on the attendance since the start of this event.
Speaker 2 (08:03):
Right, Yeah, I do, I do.
Speaker 3 (08:05):
I have the from the inaugural season in twenty fifteen
all the way up to last year twenty twenty four.
So what where should we start? From top to bottom?
Speaker 1 (08:16):
But yeah, let's go, Yeah, let's go to inaugural season
and lead up to the top.
Speaker 3 (08:20):
Okay, So then inaugural season in two thy fifteen, the
attendance was thirty five thousand, five hundred and twenty.
Speaker 4 (08:27):
Eight and kay and two Okay, in twenty sixteen we
had thirty one thousand, ninety six, so we had a
little small.
Speaker 3 (08:39):
Drop, and then in twenty seventeen we had an even
further drop of twenty five thousand, eight hundred and seventy three.
Speaker 1 (08:48):
As a matter of fact, could you give me who
those opponents, because I'm forgetting I know the first one
was AT and T.
Speaker 2 (08:55):
In in North Carolina, A.
Speaker 1 (08:57):
And T against all courts, and then I believe the
second year was Grambling in North Carolina, A and T.
Speaker 3 (09:06):
Let's see it was right north is Grambling being North Carolina?
Speaker 2 (09:12):
Right? Okay?
Speaker 1 (09:13):
And then year three what that what did you just
said was the twenty one thousand you said was there?
Speaker 3 (09:19):
Twenty seventeen we had twenty five, eight hundred and seventy three,
and that was Grambling in North Carolina, A and T.
Speaker 2 (09:28):
Okay, let's go on with the next years, and then
the opponent.
Speaker 3 (09:33):
And then let's see, it went back up in twenty
eighteen the thirty one thousand, think hundred and seventy two,
and that was North Carolina A and T in all Corn, okay,
in the all Corn. And then going into twenty nineteen,
(09:55):
we had a small bup thirty two thousand, nine hundred
and six the eighth and that was North Carolina A
and T defeating All Corn State. And then uh, COVID season.
COVID hit in. COVID won that year, So we have
(10:18):
no no COVID is undefeated.
Speaker 2 (10:24):
Yes, sure so UH.
Speaker 3 (10:27):
In twenty twenty one, the Celebration Bowl comes back, you know,
foundly big because we had forty eight thousand, six hundred
and fifty three in attendance, and that was South Carolina
State defeating Jackson State. The year of the odds, that's true.
(10:51):
I didn't think about that. That is the UH. And
then twenty twenty two is another d on year. The
numbers were forty nine, six and seventy making it the
highest attendant games in the event's history. And that was
(11:13):
North Carolina Central versus Jackson State.
Speaker 2 (11:16):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (11:17):
Of North Carolina Central one forty one thirty four in
overtime okay. And then twenty twenty three, let's see we
have a drop in attendance forty one thousand, one hundred
and eight fans, and let's see the team. It was
(11:42):
Florida A and M versus Howard.
Speaker 2 (11:46):
Okay.
Speaker 3 (11:47):
And then last year we had a drop back into
the thirty thousands. We have an attendance of thirty six
eight and twenty three and that game was Jackson State
defeated South Carolina State.
Speaker 1 (12:05):
Okay, so you got we got the high lows with
the Jackson of North Carolina Central forty nine domes might
round it up to fifty thousand. I'm gonna put you
on the spot, brother Jack, do you dare to pick
a number of attendance for this matchup?
Speaker 3 (12:27):
I will say thirty seven thousand.
Speaker 2 (12:32):
Thirty seven. Okay? Is that your final answer, sir? Final answer,
final answer? Okay.
Speaker 1 (12:40):
So that the measuring stick for us this weekend will
be thirty seven thousand, But the true measuring stick is
going to be whether or not PEV comes back national champions.
I'll take twenty seven seventeen thousands as long as they
can come back national champions.
Speaker 2 (12:58):
Is that a fair trade off? Man?
Speaker 3 (13:00):
Hey, sounds good to me. Sound good to me.
Speaker 2 (13:02):
Look, I do want the number.
Speaker 3 (13:04):
I do want your number, though, I'm curious what's your number?
Speaker 1 (13:08):
You know what, I'll bump it up just a little bit,
just a little bit, and I'll say forty k okay, okay,
And forty sounds round.
Speaker 2 (13:20):
Enough and safe.
Speaker 1 (13:21):
Enough to get enough enthusiasm because of the energy that
has been a long time coming for PV Nation, and
hopefully people get the little bonus cash together to get
in attendance and help cheer the Pathers on to victory.
Now here's another realistic question that we got to face
(13:43):
the man in the mirror on the dynamics of collegiate
athletics today. There is no loyalty. And when I say
loyalty to institutions, the loyalty is to the individual brands,
right players jumping in and out of the portals in
(14:05):
hell deals, helping people make decisions, coaches going and coming,
that wheel which leads me. It's been a hot statement
that there are certain programs who will be interested in
the services of coach Jackson.
Speaker 2 (14:19):
If coach Jackson is able to fulfill.
Speaker 1 (14:23):
This championship goal in year one and the right carriage.
Speaker 2 (14:30):
Is dangled in front of.
Speaker 3 (14:31):
Him, do you.
Speaker 1 (14:35):
See him staying to honor his contract or moving on
to green of pastors.
Speaker 3 (14:43):
Eh kind of feel like men, I really don't want
to even think about it. A hard time with that, he.
Speaker 1 (14:54):
Had hard time process. I mean I got a little
salty with him. If he want to go go. But
the thing about it, it's the reality of where we
are right now, right Okay, from this point of view,
he's done everything that he set to a conference, what
else and stuff for him to prove.
Speaker 2 (15:10):
At this level.
Speaker 3 (15:13):
H Uh, that's true. But I'm still thinking that, you know,
what he built basically in one year, I help help
build upon because I still got to give credit to
what you know, Bubba and uh, you know, dually kind of.
Speaker 2 (15:36):
Started so right right, so uh, but.
Speaker 3 (15:41):
I think I think personally he's still wants to build on,
you know what, what's what's going on here at the
Panther and.
Speaker 1 (15:52):
I would hope that would be the case, But then
here come the big ugly elephant in the room. If
everything holds up, Taste Care Theriver is business. We know
there will be a bonus and pay but we as
PV Nation are going to have to respond by coming
to these home games. And I hope that the message
is simple and clear, that everybody comes out winning. In
(16:15):
the long run, we get a championship, Coach Jackson gets
his acknowledgment payday, and PV Nation responds.
Speaker 2 (16:25):
So we'll leave it on that note.
Speaker 1 (16:28):
Do want to remind you guys, it's an early kickoff
eleven am Central Standard time, and our theme.
Speaker 2 (16:37):

any closing thoughts or comments before we get out of here?
Speaker 3 (17:24):
Sir? The closing thoughts is the same thing that you're
brought up. Let's do belt to ask in this game
the Celebration Bowl.
Speaker 1 (17:38):
I bet you won't see it again, Brother White, Hey,
