Speaker 1 (00:00):
It's the radio guy, doctor Mike Prince.

Speaker 2 (00:04):
It is our mission to try to bring you some
news you could use today. Is no exception to the rule.
Follow me on Twitter X, subscribe to the YouTube channel.
The Twitter x is at the Mike Prince Show. The
YouTube channel is the open Mic Broadcast Network. Check out

(00:28):
the website at obnradio dot com. With all that being established,
we might as well go ahead and jump right into
this thing. Well, let me first say congratulations to the

(00:48):
twenty twenty twenty five Prairie View A and M University
Panther's football program, led by none other than coach Tremaine Jackson.
We effectually call it TJ here at the Open Mic
for an outstanding twenty twenty five campaign, shook up the

(01:12):
Western Division, shook up the conference by becoming the twenty
twenty five champions representing the Southwestern Athletic Conference. In the
twenty twenty five Celebration Bowl against the South Carolina State Bulldogs.

Speaker 1 (01:34):
Came up short. Oh was it ever so close?

Speaker 2 (01:42):
Final score of course, forty to thirty eight and four overtimes.
This will become an epic Celebration Bowl. But if we're
going to be honest for all of the wrong reasons.

(02:05):
Now I have to do this part because it's part
of what I do. So much went so well in
the first half, and then the second half was a
total collapse, and if I had to summarize this celebration

(02:28):
Bowl game, I would have to simply call it Doctor Jekyll,
mister Hyde.

Speaker 1 (02:36):
You're talking about going, as they would say, from the.

Speaker 2 (02:40):
White House to the outhouse in the matter of halves.

Speaker 1 (02:46):
It is absolutely amazing. Now.

Speaker 2 (02:49):
I know a lot of emphasis are going to be
put on the two point conversion in the final overtime,
whether the plane was broken or not, but there was
so many small things that should have never even led
to that point. We're going to go and dissect through this,

(03:14):
and once again, this is not a dog pile. It's
just a reality check. A lot of people are stuck
on a couple of calls questionable one way or the other,
but there are so many other things I mentioned that.

Speaker 1 (03:33):
Led to this.

Speaker 2 (03:33):
We'll go back to the first quarter opening drive, Prairie
View taking care of business. They get a chance to
strike first twenty six yard field goal attempt hits the
right of upright crossbar and bing boone, you blow a

(03:59):
three point opportunity. Panthers in total control of the first half.
Now let's just go back, just for a moment, Just
go back for a moment. At the halftime, it is.

Speaker 1 (04:14):
Twenty one zero.

Speaker 2 (04:17):
If the field goal is made, you got twenty four
zero at the half.

Speaker 1 (04:25):
Just that mention alone.

Speaker 2 (04:27):
There is no overtime, but we're going to move on halftime.
You're sitting comfortably twenty one zero, and within a matter
of less than ten minutes on the game clock in
the third quarter, if you went away for a snack

(04:50):
break and came back, it was twenty one twenty one.

Speaker 1 (04:56):
And you go like, Okay, starting to get a little
tight right now. But I still have confidence in knowing that.

Speaker 2 (05:04):
Somehow PV is going to find a way going back
and forth. Here's another critical, critical play that baffles me
even still as I make this recording. There was an

(05:26):
apparent fumble that praiview recovers, but the officiating crew does
not go back and review it. In fact, South Carolina
State herries up to get a play before it could
ever beat reviewed. Here is what's baffling to me as

(05:49):
a coaching staff. It's been recorded the most coaching staff
ever in history says setting a new norm, creating what's normal.
Who and how does that go unchallenged? With the extra eyes,

(06:14):
I can see if he's limited short on staff, someone
has to be able to alert the coach or someone
who's ever in charge of the.

Speaker 1 (06:24):
Red flag challenge flag. Hey, we need to challenge that.

Speaker 2 (06:29):
That right there alone could potentially have changed the momentum
even better. At this point, Prairieview is still in control.
They're still creating their own narrative. But that was a
booboo that went unnoticed. Then you have Prairieview up twenty

(06:55):
one to zero. You're having your way.

Speaker 1 (07:01):
Why a do we get cute to run a reverse?
And then.

Speaker 2 (07:11):
I guess just the adrenaline flow when the play was busted.
We tried to force the pitch anyway, which created a turnover,
and then it gives the momentum push that South Carolina
State was desperately looking for another point. It's on the

(07:38):
final drive of regulation. South Carolina State is down to
their last play. Literally it is fourth and fifteen. Fourth
and fifteen. They're able to complete a seventeen yeard pass

(08:01):
to keep the drive alive, and then they could tie
this joker up with whatever it was with time running out,
another critical point, with under two minutes remaining, Prairie View could.

Speaker 1 (08:25):
Not muster up one first down.

Speaker 2 (08:31):
Before this final drive that could have milked this game away.
They couldn't get the first down. They end up giving
the ball back to South Carolina State, which that fourth
and fifteen deal allowed to go in the overtime.

Speaker 1 (08:48):
And then you have what you have. You did have
TV in overtime. I think it was the second third overtime,
whichever one. I'm losing track.

Speaker 2 (09:01):
You get the interception, Okay, the ball is at the
middle of the field. Let's get this joker over with,
because although pressure is still on the scene, is at
least not as much pressure trying to kick the game

(09:22):
winning field goal and overtime with a straight shot on
first down versus then trying to kick it on fourth
down from an angle in the event that there was
a box snapped or anything on first down. You still
have three other plays that you can try to redeem

(09:42):
yourself or do whatever. That was a critical, critical play,
the fact that everybody is focused on. Then another play
about the blocked field goal with the alleged false start. Yes,

(10:04):
that was a huge game change, but that is not
why Prairieview came up short, then the cherry on top
the in or out breaking the plane or not two
point conversion in the fourth overtime.

Speaker 1 (10:29):
Questionable.

Speaker 2 (10:31):
The ball never broke the plane, but the feet kicked
the pieline and according to the rules, that's enough to
be given credit. Ie Prairie View falls short and an epic,
very entertaining football contest forty to thirty eight. But we

(10:59):
cannot overlook, failed to mention, not recognize that Prairie View
blew a twenty one point lead, a stronghold of a
first half performance and to add insult to injury, mister

(11:23):
Ryan Stubblefield, Houston native.

Speaker 1 (11:28):
In fact, there are some indications, some indications.

Speaker 2 (11:34):
That this stubble Field is a descendant of former PV
president doctor Ruth Simmons, because she's originally a stubble Field.

(11:54):
And the ironic twists that we have with we have
makes this one old so hard to overcome. But it
does not legate the fact that the Prairie View A
and M University Panthers are the twenty twenty five Southwestern

(12:17):
Athletic Conference football champions, should they be the Celebration Bowl
champions as well? Absolutely, there's nothing we can do about
it now but mount up and try to get ready
for the twenty twenty sixth ride. I know this is

(12:38):
tough PV Nation, it was tough, but when the dust
is settled, we are still the Swack Champions. You can
go back and recapture this epic broadcast a couple of

(12:59):
ways here at the New Network, through the YouTube channel
at the open Mic Broadcast Network, or on our podcast
system through Speaker dot Com on the open Mic Broadcast
Network at obi N game Day. We want to thank

(13:19):
the Prairieview Athletic Club for their tremendous support to help
us bring each and every game to the listening audience.

in the putting that audio steal matters. We want to

(13:44):

Whether it was doing a donation or whatever.

Speaker 2 (14:07):
The amount absolute kudos to each.

Speaker 1 (14:11):
And every one of you.

Speaker 2 (14:12):
I want to thank Philip Prince and Coach heightst Northern
for being ultimate broadcasters all season long. It definitely was
a community project, and we are extremely proud, extremely thankful

(14:35):
that the open Mic Broadcast Network was able to take
your loan this magic carpet ride for twenty twenty five.
We got most of it achieved, came up just a
tab bit short, but to each its own. This water

(15:00):
under the bridge and we must move forward for twenty
twenty six. I am the radio guid doctor Mike Prince. Again,
thank you all so much for joining us on this
twenty twenty.

Speaker 1 (15:16):
Five magic carpet rime.

Speaker 2 (15:20):
But the time has come now where I must exit
stage left. So until the next time, you guys, be
blessed and we'll see you on the other side.
