We come out like Gangbusters looking good. I mean the
only the only minus mark in the first half is
the the miss chip shot field goal and so could
have easily been up twenty four zero going in halftime. So,
m that's superb first half. That's I think that's where

In full control, a surprise to many who were watching
the defense, like I said on on point, doing what
needs to be done, executing flowing.

in my honest opinion, before the game was lost. I
know it went to overtime, but so many things that
could have gone wrong appear to have gone wrong in
that third quarter. I'm still kind of mystified on the

play and you're in full control, but it seemed like
that was the oxygen that kind of started revitalizing the Bulldogs.

when you're down, you're trying to get a little you know,

was an apparent fumble that the Panthers recovered. The players
are asking for a challenge, but no one from the

three hundred and fifty seven total and four thirty six,

slinging the ball.

And congratulations to mister Peters were setting Celebration Bowl record
with the most passing yards in Celebration Bowl.

and doesn't matter, but it does matter because once again,
it puts infortus on that run game. If your run
game is on, you chew up more clock.

that was a key factor we identified that has been
one of the contributing factors for success.

assessment on everything that you witnessed the year, the.

I say as a team, you know, the coach Jackson,
they exceeded expectations. Definitely exceeded expectations. You know, we were
always uh weary and challenging the Panthers too, you know,
get past the glass ceiling, which was the Swack Championship.

So we cracked that glass ceiling and that was the
you know, the benchmark was you know, getting there and
then uh, like we said, you know, previous coaches got
us there. But we didn't get cracked cracked through that
last season, and we wanted that this season.

I remember when I first stated when we were doing
our assessments of what was the expectation what what I
call a successful season, right? And I said winning the
Swack Championship, Right, And I said, of course you want
to win the Celebration Bowl, But winning the Swack Championship

would be considered a successful season in my opinion because
we had been there before we got there.

We're at Dooney, we got there with Bubba.

So the fact that Coach Jackson brought home the Swack
Championship makes this a successful season.

What a disappointment. And it doesn't remove the fact we're
the swack champs. We're the Swack champs. But to lose this.

Yeah, as far as team stats, you know, total yards,
our mighty Panthers. You know how we put up five
hundred and against Jack and State. Right, we had four
hundred and ninety one total yards, right, compared to their
three hundred and fifty seven total and four thirty six,

So that for ninety one is passing. So we were
slinging the ball.

And congratulations to mister Peters were setting Celebration Bowl record
with the most passing yards in Celebration Bowl.

Here'tory accountable for five touchdowns? Man?

Yeah, exactly exactly five touch five touchdowns and we lost
and we lost.

You know South Carolina State they had two hundred and
seventy nine yards passing one interception throne on the ground,
we had fifty five yards rushing to their seventy eight
yards rushing.

Paul's right there, brother wife. Yes, sir, yes sir, that
was the silver bullet. It was. It was one of
one of our key strongholds. Is running the toting the ball, Yes, sir, yes, sir.

Is that because even we're going back to that that
fourth quarter with under two minutes remaining, Uh, if you
if you can get caught for first down, right, So
Carolina State is in no position to have that fourth
and fifteenth play to send it in overtime. You know,

it's so many deals way before, and I know the
big controversy is the two point conversion.

Oh well, we should have never even got to that point.

Yes, you're right, that's I didn't want to bring it up,

On the penalties, we just had five penalties for a
total of fifty three yards. Uh huh yeah, not too bad,
especially for a championship game.

They had.
Speaker 2 (13:54):
South Carolina State had seven penalties for sixty five yards.
Speaker 3 (13:58):
M hm. So we did not win the time of
possession battle.
Speaker 2 (14:05):
We had the ball twenty five minutes forty five seconds.
They had it for thirty four minutes, fifteen seconds. So
I don't know if that's like you said, we have
you know, four hundred and ninety one yards a total.
Speaker 1 (14:20):
Well, we know people always talk about time possession matters
and doesn't matter, but it does matter because once again,
it puts infortus on that run game. If your run
game is on, you chew up more clock.
Speaker 3 (14:34):
Is that and it.
Speaker 1 (14:37):
Makes a big difference, especially to come crunch time. So
that was a key factor we identified that has been
one of the contributing factors for success.
Speaker 3 (14:48):
Because, if I'm not mistaken.
Speaker 1 (14:49):
Pery of you came in with thirty one minutes and
fifty nine seconds of time of possession and South Carolina
State came in with thirty two minutes and one second
of time possession. So to have that much of a
gap in time of possession ends up allowing them to
hang around a little bit longer than what you would
have normally wanted them to exactly exactly.
Speaker 3 (15:12):
Oh boy, unbelievable, unbelievable.
Speaker 1 (15:17):
When you look at this, brother, you got some more
statumental That was that was that?
Speaker 3 (15:21):
Yeah? That that That pretty much sums it up. Yeah,
what kind of letter grade do you give for this? Man?
It's tough. It's tough.

I mean, I want to get them a be something,
but I gotta I gotta say a C. Plus, I
mean it's still nagging, nagging to me. The two chip
shot field goals, well I call them chip shot field goals.
But and the fumble. I mean, just so many things.
So I definitely got to say, uh, you know, the

first half was definitely a great letter grade. For the
second half, uh, lord is down to a C plus.

I gave a B plus. Then I'll just leave it
at that. I gave him a B plus. Yeah. Man,
It's almost like it's like you go to to get.

Something that's anticipating sweet and you kind of is bitter
and sour, and you're like, I didn't I didn't ask.

For this, you know. I'm like, I don't even know
how to put it. Man.

It's like I just want to go, Ah, somebody wake
me up from this nightmare?

Man, what is going on? Right a way it's going on?

So I don't I don't know, Jack, And then uh,
I got report. I don't know if you even have
it in front of you.

The attendance wasn't one of the.
Speaker 1 (16:51):
Greatest attendants of all time, And I know people don't
like to talk about it, and you know, there are
a lot of moving parts on why it was, what
it still is, what it is I think I said
twenty six thousand seven hundred and three in attendance.
Speaker 3 (17:06):
Yeah, yeah, yeah, And I don't know what ranks.
Speaker 1 (17:10):
I know we went over the numbers because look, you
said thirty seven thousand, I said forty.
Speaker 3 (17:16):
Well we missed that by a mile.
Speaker 2 (17:18):
Yeah we did, we did. I just knew we would
definitely crack the thirty k, at least thirty k. And
I think I heard a flint preliminary attendance of like
twenty nine thousand and something, but it seemed like the
final number, like you said, was twenty six thousand, seven
hundred and three. Uh huh, that's second, that's second lowest.

In twenty seventeen, the attendance was twenty five, eight hundred
and seventy three. So we're not the lowest, but we're
not anywhere close to the highest.

But I will give it this though.

As far as excitement at the end, yes, sir, it's
got to be one of the classic.

I was. It's an instant classic.

Look not at I not at our leisure, but you know,
but man, I mean an exciting sentence.

It's everything that you want for a Bowl game.
Speaker 2 (18:18):
Yeah, I mean, it's more more exciting than remember the Titans,
you know.

But oh my goodness, brother Wright, I can't, I can't,
I can't. Oh oh, I keep thinking of the old
old song from the color Purple. You can't sleep at night, right,
and you wonder why? Maybe God trying to tell you something.
Speaker 3 (18:41):
Man, Run the ball, That's what he's trying to tell her.
Speaker 1 (18:45):
Run the ball, right, you know, challenge to play you something.
But you know, hey, man, it's still like I stated,
it doesn't take away to a fantastic run for twenty
twenty five. Uh, hopefully the Panthers can lock and reload
and then so we're just running back again jack and

go from there. Man, how do you get your final
assessment on everything that you witnessed the year, the.
Speaker 3 (19:21):
The new era and the future. Yeah, I mean.
Speaker 2 (19:29):
I say as a team, you know, the coach Jackson,
they exceeded expectations. Definitely exceeded expectations. You know, we were
always uh weary and challenging the Panthers too, you know,
get past the glass ceiling, which was the Swack Championship.
(19:52):
So we cracked that glass ceiling and that was the
you know, the benchmark was you know, getting there and
then uh, like we said, you know, previous coaches got
us there. But we didn't get cracked cracked through that
last season, and we wanted that this season.
Speaker 3 (20:11):
Right.
Speaker 1 (20:13):
I remember when I first stated when we were doing
our assessments of what was the expectation what what I
call a successful season, right? And I said winning the
Swack Championship, Right, And I said, of course you want
to win the Celebration Bowl, But winning the Swack Championship
(20:34):
would be considered a successful season in my opinion because
we had been there before we got there.
Speaker 3 (20:40):
We're at Dooney, we got there with Bubba.
Speaker 1 (20:43):
So the fact that Coach Jackson brought home the Swack
Championship makes this a successful season.
Speaker 3 (20:51):
But you know, they say the more you get, the
more you want.
Speaker 1 (20:55):
When you want, you know, and you're like, oh man,
we had this thing shine in her hand Hill and
live rather white and with that dog on Grench showed
up and stole our championship.
Speaker 3 (21:15):
Man, yeah, that's true. That's true. My goodness.
Speaker 2 (21:21):
You know, we had to use it as a stepping
stone and that yeah.
Speaker 1 (21:26):
Man, yeah, we're gonna have to be like old Bomb
Shillips with the Houston on the next year. We're just
gonna kick the song gone down. You know, you just
got oh my god, man, Ray, Yeah, you know, I
was telling somebody I'm glad I live in a ranch
country style home because if i'd have jumped out the window,

Use this celebration Bowl loss as a stepping stone and
not a stumbling block. So uh, it's considered a successful season.
Come back next year even hungrier than this season. Not
seeing that's a tall task or anything. But have the
same energy and fire that we had this season and
