now taken the stand in the case of State versus Ramirez.
The twenty four year old Texan Jonathan Ramirez is under

indictment in the murder of twenty six year old Jacob Loff.
The latter was discovered by a coworker stabbed to death
in his Morgantown apartment last January. Coverage continues in full

Sarah Maniir died Tuesday, the eighty four year old served
twelve years in the state Senate for nineteen eighty four
to two thousand and six, representing Tucker County. She was
the first woman to be elected to the Senate from

former Parsons High School and attended Fairmont State West Virginia
Business College in WVU. She was living in Bridgeport at
the time of her passing. A long term resident that
the John Mansion facility in Fairmont has found a lawsuit
against the governor's actions in selling that and three other facilities,
including one in Preston County, claiming that the government has

no statutory authority to make such a sale. The sixty
million dollar sale is expected to be finalized to a
private firm next month. The U. S Attorney's Office reported
Wednesday in Elkins that the local Drug Task Force in
northern West Virginia had seized more than one hundred and
thirty six pounds of drugs in the last year, including
twenty seven kilograms of fentanyl and twenty two kilograms of meth.
That includes combined efforts of the Mond Metro Drug Task Force,

the Greater Harrison Drug Task Force, the Mountain Region Drug
Task Force, the Three Rivers Drug Task Course, and several
others from the Eastern and Northern panhandles. Two people went
to the hospital Monday after a collision involving a tractor
trailer in Marion County. They had to be rescued from
a burning pick up as a result, one person was
flown to Ruba Memorial Hospital, a second went to a
local hospital. Their conditions at this time are not known.

A woman in Harrison County is facing charge is accused
of throwing a small dog across a restaurant in Harrison County.
Thirty one year old Ida ecken Road of Clarksburg is
accused and charged with cruelty to animals. Investigators believe an
argument with the suspect's grandmother resulted in the incident at
a Wendy's in Clarksburg. Ground has officially been broken on
the seven point three million dollars new multipurpose turf field

at the Bridge Sports Complex. The turf field will increase
opportunities for community events and tournaments. The field will be
two hundred and nineteen thousand square feet and can be
used for soccer, football, baseball, as well as softball at
multiple levels. The West Virginia Center for Excellence and Disabilities
is partnering with Hope in Alliance Action to complete a
new mobile app that would connect West Virginians to community resources.

access to services like housing, transportation, domestic violence shelters, and more.
The West Virginia Chamber of Commerce is hosting its eighty
ninth annual three day business Summit at the Greenbrier this week.
A prime topic is expected to include the fourteenth month
long streak of state job losses totaling more than four
thousand across the state last year. Industries from across the state,
