On Phillies Power ninety nine. Good morning, good morning, and
good morning, Happy Wednesday to you. Today's message is about
job burnout. Are you burnt out? Jeff? I don't know
who needs to hear this, but if you've been feeling
overwhelmed and exhausted and task that you could have easily

(00:29):
done last week are very difficult to even start now,
it might be burnout. Burnout is real, my friends, and
all to solve, but recognizing it may be a helpful
first step. Burnout happens when people sacrifice their well being
for another purpose, such as keeping their job. So listen

(00:51):
to your inner voice, your heart, your body, whatever that helps,
and make a change. Get to the real root of
your problem and hopefully this will help. Okay, you gotta
make sure you are on your self care. You gotta
make sure you take them vacations. You gotta make sure
you take that time or from work to avoid job burnout.

(01:18):
Are you burnt out? Philly, Jersey, Delaware? All the people
rocking out on iHeartRadio app And what do you all
do to reset from burnout at your job? Two on
five two three sixty six ninety nine. I don't already
told you. You know what I do. I go, I
get my nails done, I get my feet done. I
listen to some music. I get me a massage, I

(01:39):
get into me. You feel what I'm saying because you
need that meantime. You have to recharge your batteries. It's
like driving around all day with that gas light on.
You won't get far ther car is gonna die eventually,
So please, whatever you have to do, what's best for

(02:01):
your mento helth.

Speaker 1 (02:04):
I agree with you one hundred percent. You know, I
think people and I was this person at one point
in time where you didn't take vacation, especially in the
business that we're in. You don't take vacation, and vacation
is days and time that you worked for, so why
not use it? And a lot of companies are, you know,
use it or lose it. So I agree with you.

(02:26):
Take time to yourself, take time.

Speaker 3 (02:28):
To your family. Uh, don't burn yourself out for anybody.

Speaker 2 (02:36):
I remember seeing surveys online that like average people leave
something like two weeks of vacation on the table that
don't and they don't use it because of how much
they work, which is utterly insane. I work a lot,
and I honestly don't do enough self care. Like I

(02:58):
can't even tell you what I really do, to be
honest with you, because it's literally around the clock for me.
I'm here after we finish the morning show, doing other shows.
When I leave here, I might have to run to
the grocery to pick up things because I need to cook,
or I might just leave in time to go pick
up the kids from school, and then it's like once
that happens, I go into mommy mode and the only

(03:19):
time I have might be in between the kids going
to bed and I go to sleep, which is not
much time at all. You know. I might get a
little bit of time if I cook, then I don't
have to cook again. I might get a little bit
of time when I go home in between picking up
the kids and I turn on the TV. I try
to catch up on monsters and try to catch up
on some of the shows that I've been wanting to watch,

(03:40):
or I read a book, you know. But that's honestly,
it's at the moment, like I really don't do much
other than that, and I do need to incorporate a
lot more self care. But one thing is for sure.
Two things for certain. I take my vacation. I earned
that vacation, and when I leave, I do not do
me work All of those shows that I do, after

(04:02):
I make sure that they are covered, I will not
work while I'm on vacation.

Speaker 1 (04:07):
Why do you think people feel like, why do you
think people work or have a career and they're overwhelmed
by it?

Speaker 2 (04:17):
I think I do because and I think that it's
more fear than anything else. I think that the job
market is so shaky and so volatile that people feel
like they don't want someone else to slide in. You know, oh,
let me not. Especially in this industry, it's like, let
me not and let not. Don't let nobody fill in

(04:39):
for you, God forbid, because if they do a better
job than you do, then you start getting panicky thinking
that they might end up sliding in your position and
they'll let you go. So I definitely in this in
this field, I do think that that is the case.
People are fearful. And that's also the reason why you see, sadly,
a lot of people don't help the next generation.

Speaker 3 (04:59):
I great, and that's sad because you should pay it forward.
You should bring the next generation absolutely behind if you
can and if that's in your heart to do.

Speaker 2 (05:11):
That, you know, there's a lot there's not there's not
enough mentorship for the younger generation because even the older
you know, people that are already established in their career,
are so fearful of that, like it's Crazyn
