(00:01):
Danny, it's the Neighbors Podcast. Will be some mics becausing different issues that
affect of treating like that. It'sthe Neighbors. Wait, the Neighbors who
yeah, yeah, yeah, yes, sir, yes, sir. Top
of the morning, everybody, everybodyhaving a cool morning, uh, afternoon,

(00:24):
afternoon, evening, wherever y'all listening, whatever time it is, whatever
you listen at. Hey, y'all, We thank y'all for listening to the
Neighbors Podcast. We thank y'all fortuning back in with us, right right.
I know it's been a long timeI lost, but uh uh,

(00:45):
but life has been lifing and that'sthat's that's been the whole challenge Mike and
I have not only are personal, you know, but then trying to come
together has been like like, ohgosh, it's like it was like a
task, right, what we gottado that, you know. But I

(01:07):
gotta say that, you know, with that we had, we haven't forgotten
about y'all for that. And weknow y'all been asking right for us to
bring this hot fire smoking smoking, you know, but you know, we
thank y'all for for for continue torock out with us. It has been

(01:29):
a pleasure because, like I said, because y'all have been continuing to tune
in to us and reaching out tous and asking for us. I mean,
we still feel the love, rightyeah, and it's a good thing,
right, feel good. Uh youknow it's like like as you know,
it's been a minute, but getourselves together. We back. This

(01:51):
is why we appreciate y'all listening toour old shows. Get back on track,
start throwing some more shows right outthere, you know. Right,
so so uh, you know,in this space because we're talking about getting
together, you know, and thisis probably the reason why we don't.

(02:15):
We haven't been on the microphone, but we need to take the microphone where
when we're in these environments, youknow, that's a good idea, do
it outside, you know. Soso here's here's where we're going. Where
we are going with this a coupleof weeks ago and for those of you
who set outside with us, canwe know y'all listen. It was probably

(02:39):
the most funnest, very interested. You know, sometimes you don't get to
see your neighbors and a light rightoh you know they're basically passing by,
you know, walking walk into thestore, right you know, running your

(03:04):
lot quick thirty seconds. Yeah, you know, like you said, thirty
seconds. You know, you mightchitt and chat for a minute thirty seconds
something like that, you know, but to sit outside and actually congregate together.
And yeah, it was. Itwas a lot of fun. It
was. It was. It wasa lot of fun. It's not it's
not often that you can have peoplethat you live next to that you can

(03:29):
laugh and joke and have fun with. Everyone is not really blessed to be
in that space. Then we lookout for each other exactly. We look
out for each other's cars and thingslike that. Again, like I said,
life be life and right, andI said, watch out for cars.
You know, my wife's car wasalmost broken into twelve thirty in afternoon.

(03:52):
That's great. I'm not understand thatthese knuckleheads getting bold don't care.
You get what I mean, don'tcare you know to to uh you know.
So so anytime we think about, hey, we're going to get to
another place or space or whatever else, now we got take care of something
else, and something else, alwayssomething else. I mean, you know,
it's it's just time. Basically,it's time consuming and costly because you

(04:15):
gotta stop doing what you're doing.Take care of this. It comes out
of your pocket, right, youknow. But certain things I just not
understand it. I mean, yougo around checking people doors twelve thirty why
right? Why? I mean andthe wife she does have a han day,
you know whatever, I did takeit to the store and they had

(04:38):
to do what they had to do, you know, YadA YadA. But
you know, but again more inconvenienced. Correct, you know again, life
stuff right, right, you know, but but it's just basically unnecessary,
right, that's it. That's that'sthat's the part we don't understand. I
mean, come on, you knowyou're gonna break in your mom and dad's
car, right, No, well, you know they depend if you look

(04:58):
on YouTube, TikTok, you knowyou give it them. I'll take that
back. Yeah, when you oncertain substance, anything happens, you know,
and even looking at social media likethat, you know, because people
don't like each other, right, they don't you know, ultimately don't like

(05:19):
themselves. They can't enjoy well,we had, right, you get what
I mean, Like you said,we might you know, it might be
passing that you know, thirty secondshere, a minute there, you know,
those type of things. But thenwhen you have a whole neighborhood keeps
calling you cousin and you know, saluting you, and you know, call
you trouble and like yeah, youknow, you know, or or whatnot.

(05:46):
But I think that you know,we're right, we might need to
consider our next little goal, youknow, get together, bring the microphones
out right, I mean that'll becool, that'll be cool. You know,
that would be a whole nother level. You might have to sense on
some stuff. But oh yeah, you think so? You think so?

(06:12):
And do you think that they willbe able to censor themselves? No?
Right, so our rating on thisshow, we're definitely going to have to
put explicit language, probably more thanlikely, right, I mean, once
you hear you're seeing us, youcan hear, you can imagine what's going
on, right right? Right?Yeah? I mean so now the only

(06:35):
thing is is that because it isa podcast, do you think we'll be
able to stay on track? Yeah? I think we would, you think
so overall? Oh yeah, Idon't know why. I don't know.
Just some people, man, justlike if you drinking a forty ounce of
Martin Readers, I can understand thatthree or four cups to that you ain't

(06:57):
gonna stay on track. Yo.That was funny. But you know,
again, for those of you whohave neighbors that you can chill out with,
I mean, because we're going tohave a summer jam together with the
neighbors that we did last summer, you know where we had tents out there.
It rained on us like any othersummertime cookout, you get what I

(07:20):
mean. But you know, itwas probably one of the best moments that
you can have. It's like theold school block parties, right, you
know, just sure of us outsideexcuse me, us outside painting the sidewalk,
yep. But yeah, it wascool. It was cool. I

(07:45):
think that we don't have enough ofthis unity. Yeah, I mean,
like I said, you know,it's like, it's crazy how we lost
our unity even family wise. AndI said, I stated, we had
this conversation before. To me,seemed like it started back like eight nineties,
early two thousand. We lost it. And it's like why, And

(08:07):
you know, jealousy, envy, you think you're better than me, or
you think you'll know you got itlike that. You don't know what I
have, right, right, youdon't know what I have. You see
what I have, but you don'treally know our inside that dope. But
it's is certain people. It isyou know, I don't know misery love

(08:28):
company, but misery. Do youknow, I'm a very positive person,
is a very positive person. Likeyou said, you know, we look
out for each other, right, but sometimes you can depend on your friends,
the boy, you can depend onyour family. And I'm like,
something ain't right. But if Igot to start, you know, like
start calling you cousins, so beit right, right, right right,

(08:50):
it's crazy box trucks, I said, you more than someone I see some
of my cousins. I do hereexactly so, but see, I think
you know, the us being ableto share and talk and whatever, because
like you said, we're right herenext to each other, so we share
a commonality. I guess, youknow, being on the same block,

(09:13):
you know all that type of stuff. I mean, we're we're only what
five houses six house houses separating ussome those lines, and for the most
part, everyone else in between kindof talk to at least say hi,
at least say high to each other. There's like one or two that don't

(09:33):
really say anything anything, or atleast when I see them, they kind
of they look but not you know, again, they don't say too much
of anything. You're right, notright? You know so? And and
that's partly because that I mean thehouse that I'm thinking of, like,

(09:56):
I've never said a word to them, like at all ever as they moved
here. I think it's the onethat's one two from you, two down
from you. Oh okay, youget what I mean. You know,
so that like I've never you know, I haven't had a chance to really
speak to them, and I haven'thad a real reason to. You get
what I'm saying well as me youdo it and other neighbors. You know,

(10:22):
we talk to you. You ain'tmissing nothing. It's certain things these
people why right right? You knowwhy? You know? You know so
if y'all want to know where welive, there's an address, you know,

(10:48):
because I'm saying that because maybe y'allcan come out and uh join us
for this uh summertime get together thatwe're going to have. Now for those
of you who are listening, makesure that I'm sorry those that are listening
and knows where this thing is goingto be, y'all better not bring no

(11:11):
nasty food. Definitely don't do thatbecause you're talked about I'm gonna talk about
you. I'm gonna talk about toyour face. And you know we don't
have we don't we don't have noshaming our game. First thing I'm coming

(11:31):
out about, like, who's diabeticaround here? What the hell is this?
Yeah? Those certain things you don'tput in food, Like what I
mean, let's go with a youdon't put onions and potato salad. Good
on now, hike onions and potatosalad. It don't have to be no,

(11:54):
no, and now let me letme be more specific though. So
I like onions, celery like whatever, right, but I don't I personally
don't like it. Super big onions, that's what you get what I mean?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, likeI don't like it chunky, like
I don't like. It has tobe really really fine, you know,

(12:16):
almost almost to the point where youdon't even realize it's there. There you
go, that's for me. Thereyou go. That's what I'm talking about,
you know, No chunky peanut butteryright right? No, no,
no, no, no, nono no, don't to be honest.
Now, when it comes to potatosalad, my mom used to put olives

(12:37):
in it, which you know,at one point in time, I was
like, hey, this is adifferent taste, but it's like old.
I'm like, why did she dothat? I'm not saying it was nasty,
but I wanted to know where whatboogie place did she go to get
some It's like you get some ofthese ship you know, those silence right

(13:01):
they who? I mean, Look, you don't put raisins and potatoes out.
I've seen that. I've seen thattoo, And yeah, I mean
I don't want bacon in it.I've seen like so many different versions of
it in different places. It doesn'tmake any sense, you know. So

(13:28):
you know, and then you know, don't come to me. I mean,
so for me, because I don'tlike my food to touch each other.
All my food is segregated. Ithink we had to talk about this,
you know. So so you know, I don't want really really soggy
greens. I don't want really reallysoggy stream beans. I don't, you

(13:50):
know, because I don't want awhole bunch of juice running all over the
plate. You know, let's justbe And when it comes to to your
ribs and your chicken, yeah yougot barbecue sauce on it, but I
don't want it where it's dripping offeither. I mean, it can get
kind of messie, but right,it just haints the flavor. Oh yeah,

(14:11):
yeah, yeah, I mean Ijust I just want to kind of
sear it on, not so muchlike you just poured it on there at
the last minute, like you gotcha, gotcha. You know, I don't
want it like that drenched in it, right, that's understand. It gotta
be like baked, marinate in it, not drenched, right, gotcha,
right, you know so. Butyeah, so, neighbors, if y'all

(14:35):
going to have it, you know, whether you are here with us or
somewhere else, just be mindful whatyou're bringing to the table. Pretty much.
If you bring something, don't don'twant to hear you no, oh,
I can't bake it, but youshow up in the neighborhood. I
was in the neighborhood. I usein the neighborhood, so it's wild wah.

(14:58):
And for those of you don't dois or whatever, I would li
liken it to. If you're oldschool, I would say seven eleven pretty
much, right, you know whatI mean, more advanced than something.
Yeah, yeah, uh, Iguess that's the best way I could put

(15:18):
it. At seven eleven because ithad. It has everything that seven eleven
had plus you know, like yousaid, now you can get pizza and
cheese, steaks and cheeseburgers, cheeseburgers, britos, salads, a little bit
of everything. Oh so, Sothat means if you're going to come to

(15:39):
the party the wild wires at thecorner, right, make sure you bring
something. Bring something. Yeah theydo, catering, they do, and
don't again, you're you're you're comingto an event like we don't need you
to bring fruit. No, ain'tnobody being no damn diet. I mean

(16:07):
we we uh uh I mean, and for some of us that are into
fruit, it's not nothing wrong, nothing wrong with that, don't get me
wrong, nothing wrong with that, not wrong with that. I mean we
understand, you know, certain foods, fruits, even fruits expensive now,
but oh yeah, most definitely.I mean the thing with that situation to
buy a picture and bring so ohyeah, bring something, Bring something that's

(16:30):
worthy. Not no bag of chips, one bag I mean, and more
than likely we've already had that alreadypretty much, you know what I mean.
Much so yeah, yeah, wedon't need the back of your hell.
I'd rather you bring the Hamburger hotdog rules in the bag of chips.
Uh. One thing you can't reallygo wrong with, though, is

(16:51):
bringing another case of water. Now, you can't never go whether it's case
of water or bag of ice, right, you can never really go wrong
with that, right, you know? You know because for me, like
I said, I know, I'mpicky, so I don't. I'm not
gonna eat everybody's food anywhere to beginwith, and I never have. And

(17:12):
that's a personal thing, you know, I've always had a queasy stomach.
Well you know these days, youknow, especially you never had nobody cooking.
You're gonna do a taste test,You're gonna fill your plate up,
then damn throw it away. Youmean, well, I might look at
somebody else, oh you had that, and I might sit there for certain
make sure they ain't died or chokingright like they started frowing up that,

(17:36):
right, you know, let meright right right, you know, so,
especially if I already now I can'tsee him. I'm picky, man,
picky. So I just I sawa video not too long ago where
somebody was making potato salad, right, and with their potato salad and their

(17:56):
chicken salad and tunic fit salad. They made it and then they let us
sit overnight, and so they said, because they said, that's what they
do in the Delhi. They takeit, they make it, let us
sit overnight, so all the flavorscan come together. And then the following
day, because he and the guyput in a video, he poured out

(18:18):
all the water and all that typeof stuff, you know. And I
was like, and I told mywife, I'm like, yo, I
don't you know. I don't likewatery potato sald I don't like watery chicken
salad or whatever else. So thatmeans that the stuff is not usually made
fresh. Then it's pretty fresh, right right, you know. You know

(18:40):
I didn't know that either. Ididn't know that. So they let it
sit out overnight. Infrigerator, infrigerator, okay, okay, yeah, yeah,
they make it and you know, they cover it saran wrap or whatever.
I see that. I can understandthat. I mean, you're ready
about it. You don't really gottime like certain delas, you know,

(19:03):
right, you don't really got timeto make it fresh that day, right,
so gotcha? Yeah? You know, so I was like, oh,
wow, that's different. But evenwith that, you know, you
can you can bring a chicken salad, tuna salad, you know whatever,
you know a little bit, youknow, it don't have to be a
whole lot sometimes. I mean,I've been in some places where as long
as you bring something right and notbe empty handed is better than that.

(19:27):
You're rare. Yeah. But likeI said, if you bring a bag
of your bang enough bag of chips, not just one. Yeah, they
bring three, you can being three, don't just right one. Now,
I understand bag of chips is likeseven dollars apiece, but you know it's
expensive. He grew it up beingBut ain't nothing wrong with the store,
bran Jack, trust me. Yeah, somebody's gonna eat it. You're damn

(19:51):
right. You ain't gonna know thedifference. You ain't gonna know the difference.
The old thing. You know, you're gonna sit there if they ruffle
potato chips, they ruffle potato chips, right, you know what I mean.
He's not free to lay ruffles yourboot. How about you even now?
I mean, you know, putpeople for no I can taste the
difference once you did a chip tastethat you know. People funny? Oh

(20:21):
yeah they are? They are soso you know I would love to know
what y'all take to y'all, uhneighborhood cookout if y'all have it right?
You know how many y'all still havingblock parties? I mean, because I
don't hear about that too much anymore. So much now. I mean these
days they cut out a lot becauseyou have to have a permit to have
a block party. But yeah, sitting around certain areas, it's too much

(20:44):
going on. You're not gonna getthat permit. And it's it's sad,
but you know that's the reality welive in now. Yeah, you know,
especially you know carnivals, you know, coronifus like family fun right every
fence. But you know we gotparents dropping these knuckleheads. Oh yeah,
I said, the knuckleheads that Thetheory is like, uh, you're destroying

(21:07):
ever the people's fun. You're notgoing to get on the rise. You're
just going around. You want tostart stuff? Why because you're because you're
bored. I mean people, youknow you've heard on the news sometimes oh
they need something for these kids todo. But they do have stuff for
these kids to do, functions andall that. But you want your knuckle
you want to come over there andbe destroyed. Right, But it's crazy

(21:29):
how people quick, these kids quickto follow somebody negative and something positive.
I'm not understanding. I mean, what what is there for them? So
so all right we're talking about what, you know, something to do,
like even like right now this summerone, like you know, I listen
to somebody talk about their nonprofit andand them trying to put together some type

(21:52):
of uh program or whatever else forthe kids, and unfortunately they were saying,
like the kids attention span, it'snot the greatest. So so they
go to the camp or whatever. They get frustrated because the camp is not
doing what they want to do orallow them to do what they want to
do, you know. So nowthey're getting kicked out the camp. So
now they winder in the street, you get what I mean? You know.

(22:15):
So and the camp doesn't have youknow, they're not responsible for the
kid like the schools. You know. So now what're you going to do?
Exactly? Come on? You know? So you know, so I
think it just goes down to usbeing parents, right, you know,
not really policing our own kids. They go right there, that's what it

(22:37):
is. I mean, you don'tdon't pass the buck, think somebody else
gonna do something for your gids,do stuff with your kids, do stuff
for your kids. Come on,we get trips. I mean, I
think too many people are are areso ghetto fabulous, you know, so
instead of like we're talking about doinga neighborhood cookout, right, so how

(23:02):
many people will saying, you knowwhat, I'd rather go ahead and be
in Cabo, Mexico or something, you know whatever, Like all right,
that's cool, that's cute, butyou can't be there every day, you
get what I mean. And aswe had started off the show talking about,
Hey, my neighbors looking out formy car, they're looking out for
my house. You know, ifI go take a trip, you know,

(23:25):
yo, guess what, you know, I'll be away for a little
while. You see anything, youknow, let me know what's going on.
You know, we had a neighbor. Mike could tell you the neighbor
had an issue. I thought Icould hear somebody in their house in they
crib, right, you know, and come to find out it was two
or three. The people on theother other side of them was loud.

(23:48):
You go to me, you know, so, but you know, you
just got to be paying attention. You gotta be aware of what's going on,
you know. So again when itso, when it comes to the
kids, was it you know, being aware of them or what they're doing
in the neighborhood, and unfortunately youget called a snitch or something like that.
Exactly. Oh, my thing islike, okay, your child doing

(24:10):
this, do something about it.Nipping in the butt right right, don't
come cuss me out because your childdoing wrong. You cuss me out,
I'm gonna cuss back at you, plain and simple. Fair. All's fair,
fair, I mean, come onnow, people pay too much money
taxes deliver in these houses. Idon't care who you are, right you
are, but your child is actinglike a plague tough guy, You ain't

(24:36):
that tough. If you's tough, you gotta have a common sense, brain
smarts, use your knowledge, betough that way in the books. Well
you know you're not. These kidsnot built to be tough on the streets
and something. But because of peoplekind of playing around. You know,
people are are are little nervous toeven sit outside on their porch. Exactly,

(24:59):
you shouldn't be. You can't sayoutside on your step, you know,
you know, and unfortunately I knowin my old age. I'm getting
to a point where it's like Idon't want to hear kids yelling, you
know, oht a while, LikeI just I just want peace and quiet,
exactly. You know that's exactly. The older you get, that's the
more you want. Yeah, youknow, and you know, Yo,

(25:22):
it's customer right right right, Yo? Keep you moving. This ain't no
bus stop do that in front ofyour house? Right? I mean?
And I was sitting on my stepsthe other day and these little kids just
walking past, keep looking at me, and now I'm on the phone.
I'm sitting on the phone. They'relooking at me back and forth for whatever
else. And then they come andjust sit down on my grass what exactly?

(25:48):
Now, if it wasn't for mebeing on the phone, you know,
I would have told them get offmy lord? You know stuff right,
But but yeah, I don't knowwhat you know about that. So,
you know, back to our neighborhoodthing. These situations I know,
and I understand affects us, itdoes, you know, because now we

(26:10):
can't get together, We can't havethose conversations. Who made the potato salad?
You know why you burned up allthe hot dogs? You get what
I mean, but the thing is, you know, these counties police,
they know who the trouble makers areand guarantee they watch them. But the
thing is, you y'all act up, You're gonna pay for it. It's

(26:32):
called citations. We ain't talking about. No twenty five dollars. We ain't
talking on No fifty dollars were talkedabout like these one hundred dollars. I
mean, I think that some ofthe I mean, and I know it's
absurd to say five hundred to athousand, but there has to be some
accountability for something exactly, you know, because then it's like, hey,

(26:55):
if I got to pay that amountof money out of my pocket, you
know what I mean. You know, if I'm if I'm living hard enough,
right, you know, maybe thatwill help me stay on a straight
and narrow to some agree. Butyeah, I don't know, I don't
know. I mean show you.I mean, yeah, I had got
to have some kind of guidance withyour child. You got to, you

(27:18):
know, kid. They know fromright for right, wrong for wrong,
They know that. I mean. The thing is, don't oh not my
child, Oh not my child. You know, you child up to no
good? Nipp it like you said, if you don't want to police,
police your child, police your wholechild. You were hope, I mean,
yeah, you're talking about privacy.Look, only privacy. You get

(27:40):
it to take your gass in thebathroom, do what you gotta do the
mouth, wash your hands. That'sthe only promise you got. You close
your door, your propercy. Thisis my room, not your. You're
only temporary. Well you know evenwith that, you know again, we
people share too much information, youknow, they share They think their their

(28:03):
children as their equal, not theirchild, you know what I mean,
friends with your child, you know. But some people are like that,
right, I mean you're coming outbro bro brouh right, you know.
So yeah, man, but youknow, I hope some of y'all out
there are are enjoying the show. You know, like I said, we're

(28:23):
you know, we're back where whereyou know, like I said, we've
we've had a lot of things goingon, you know, So just make
sure that y'all continue to like sharing, subscribe yes please do you know you
don't be ideas anything you want totalk about, feel free shoot us an
emails definitely, you know, andship and be sure to follow both of

(28:47):

a lot about you know, businessstuff or whatever else. You know.
